NO REGRETS FOR BEING THIS EARLY-
But I am intrigued on how the fight between naga Volo and naga Warden Ingo would go- a continuation of a prompt I saw you write for here a while ago-
GIRLS THE NOODLES ARE FIGHTING-
-Zorua anon ❤️🖤🦊
I hope you like this! ^^ (I apologize I’m not very good at fighting scenes.)
Based off this
-
-
“Ingo please, let’s just go home.” The tension is thick, almost suffocating.
You know Ingo is strong, but Volo is venomous, and in a time without anti-venom one bite could mean death. But the fierce look on Ingo’s face tells you he’s already thought of that, yet he won’t back down.
“If he wants to try and lay a claim on you, then he already knows he must get through me first. I’m not going to turn away a challenger.”
The viper before you two smirks, showing off the very long fangs you’re worried about. The two snake men stare at each other, glaring, and waiting for the other to make the first move.
Ingo was never one for violence, but he can’t shake the feeling this was much needed and a long time coming.
But he knows he must be careful, Volo will not go down easy nor fight fair.
And he was right, the moment his eyes flickered behind him to make sure you were out of the way, Volo lunged.
Ingo barely dodges the attack, ducking under to slam into Volo’s chest and tossing him to a spot further away from you. The blonde rag dolls for a moment before righting himself and doing it again.
This time the golden snake goes low to the ground, and while Ingo dodges, Volo is quick to slam his tail into his chest, knocking the air from the warden.
Yet Ingo sinks his claws into Volo’s tail, taking him with him. The yellow snake hybrid whips around just as the warden grabs a stick near him and lifts it between them, making Volo bite the stick instead of Ingo.
Venom leaking and glistening in the light.
It doesn’t last long as the merchant is grabbed and lifted by a wave of psychic energy, one which he struggles against. Your Alakazam holding him in place and further away from him, as you rush over to Ingo making sure he’s okay.
“Did he bite you? Are you okay!?”
Ingo grunts, sitting up and coiling the end of his tail around your waist, before swiftly moving you behind him.
“I’m fine, dear. Please, let me handle this.”
“Ingo….fine.”
In a flash of a pokeball, the constrictor hybrid is lifted by his own Tangrowth.
“W-what!?”
“I’m sick and tired of this, I don’t want anyone hurt. So stop this useless fighting, we are going home.”
You ask Tangrowth to start the trek to the highlands, and once it does you’re left with a still floating Volo.
As Ingo's shouts start growing fainter, you stare at the blonde.
“Anything to say for yourself?” You figured you’d be polite.
But he huffs.
“He’s a useless mate, he can’t even fight for your hand properly.”
“I don’t want or need that, it’s pointless to fight. I can make my own choices, what makes you so sure I would’ve picked you anyway?”
Your words cut through him like a dagger.
He’s speechless, for once he can’t think of anything to say. He can only watch as you toss the scarf he made and scented in front of him.
“I’m taking my leave, if you try anything again you’ll be answering to me.”
He can only stare at your retreating form, calling for Braviary to catch up with your lover.
Alakazam drops him once you’re out of sight, and teleports back to you.
Leaving the hybrid alone.
Just as he has always been.

Hopefully this makes it in before the requests close! You having Volo as self aware simultaneously as Ingo is really interesting! And it would be neat to see how Volo would confront y/n about being self aware , especially if Ingo is already close to the y/n and somehow finds out what's going on!
I also low-key hedcanon that with the y/n entering the game they slowly make everyone self aware, mostly since they aren't supposed to be there and it's messing with the code around them! ♡
Don’t worry Anon! Your request made it just in time! ヾ(•ω•`)o Sorry if this is a little rough, I finished it up with a migraine ;w; Summary: While alone on a walk alone in Ingo’s world, you are approached by a familiar face, who has a few questions for you... CW: Self aware characters, threats of murder, yandere/obsessive behavior, enabling of obsessive behavior. Slight implied stalking. Word Count: 2411 Words! --- When you woke up this morning, you had a feeling something was off. You had stayed the night with Ingo in his world. After you had agreed to work from home, you both had been in and out of each other’s worlds. It was honestly kind of nice. Even if this world was all code, and followed a script, you still enjoyed it. Ingo had been sure to walk you around and show you what all the area’s had to offer.
You felt that maybe, you could one day have a home here. As long as Ingo was with you, being here wouldn’t be too bad. If only it wasn’t so… lonely here though. You hardly left Ingo’s cabin in the Coronet Highlands whenever you stayed in his world. Even though you knew how the game worked, how to handle pokemon and such, it was still dangerous. Especially since your life was literally at stake, no guarantee you would respawn. Ingo also made sure you didn’t see anyone. You weren’t sure why he was so adamant, but ever since you talked with Volo once, he had put his foot down about it. You couldn’t help but feel it was probably for a good reason, despite how lonely you occasionally got. You sighed as you walked on a path close to Ingo's home, his Gliscor chirping every so often, flying to the side of the path to look at whatever caught its interest. Ingo had to go check on Lady Sneasler, and make an update to the Pearl Clan while he was here. He stayed in your world so much, he didn’t want them to think he had disappeared, or had passed on. Since Ingo kept to himself, thankfully they left him be, so long as he did update them on occasion. That, and he truly cared about his warden duties. So here you were, waiting for him to get back so you both could go explore together some more before dinner. His Gliscor had happily stayed behind to protect and accompany you until your partner came back. You smiled at the pokemon, the Gliscor doing a little spin when it found a berry to eat. Looking back down, you fiddled with your shirt. You were definitely excited for tonight, both of you planning on heading back to your world to order some fast food and watch a movie. Maybe even have a little bit of fun afterwards… As you kicked a pebble down the path, you were brought out of your musings when you heard Gliscor loudly cry out. “Gliscor? What-“ Before you could try and find the pokemon, it suddenly flew beside you, taking a defensive stance. Now, Ingo had told you all the moves his pokemon knew, and had given you full permission to use it. However, the sudden aggression and protective behavior startled you. Was it a wild pokemon? An alpha? You hoped you could live up to Ingo’s expectations… Much to your surprise, it wasn’t a pokemon that walked out of the treeline. It was Volo. You felt yourself swallow nervously. Despite the fact you should be relieved it wasn’t a wild pokemon or an alpha, Volo didn’t make you feel any more at ease. When he laid his eyes on you, he smiled, and gave you a wave before stepping out further. “Well well! If it isn’t Ingo’s partner!” He said, and walked closer. Gliscor swayed in front of you, putting itself between you two. You felt thankful Ingo had left the pokemon behind. “Uh, yes. It’s me.” You spoke quietly. Everything felt tense. You could hear everything, yet it was so much, you heard nothing but the blood in your ears. Your heart rate picked up, and your breathing increased. Something was off about Volo. You don’t know what it was, but you could feel it. “Say, may I talk with you for a moment? I won’t be long, I promise.” he said, gripping a strap of his backpack. You bit the inside of your cheek. You had Gliscor with you, and if you were in danger, all you had to do was call for Ingo… “I guess.” You said, albeit reluctantly. Volo’s smile seemed to grow, and you couldn’t help but feel it was a genuine one, despite the circumstances. With a hum, his smile turned into a smirk. “You’re not from this world, are you?” He asked, and you nearly choked in surprise. “What!? How did you-?” You began to ask, and his smirk only grew. “Things have been odd around here, ever since Ingo started distancing himself from Jubilife and the clans. I have noticed they all.. Act off.” He said, and took a step forward. You took a step back. “Everyone acts stiff sometimes. They act as if they don’t see me when I move. They repeat themselves often. For a while, I thought I was going insane.” he told you. He took another step forward. You took another step back. You didn’t like where this was going. “Lo’ and behold, Warden Ingo is the only one who seemed to act differently than this… script everyone seemed bound to. Him, and the hero. However… The hero stopped doing anything. Like… as if they were a statue half the time.” He expressed. His eyes landed on you, and you felt a spike of fear run through you. “Then there was the voice. You. Your voice. Wherever the hero was, your voice followed.” Another step. You took another one back. Gliscor let out a hiss, backing up with you. “Then Ingo started disappearing. He was always a loner, so no one really said much about it. Then you appeared.” You felt your back hit a tree. Volo stepped closer, ignoring the Gliscor that snapped its claws in his direction. “You. You’re the key for all of this. You control the hero. Somehow, you broke Ingo free from this play. This game.” He stopped closer, and loomed over you, and the Gliscor hissed once more. All it would take is one word, and it’d attack, but… “You’re the true god of this world, aren’t you?” He asked, rather quiet. You blinked, and the question nearly snapped you out of your anxious daze. “I’m the what.” His grin almost seemed maniacal. You probably wouldn’t be surprised if it was. “You controlled the hero. You made Ingo aware of your higher existence. You’ve made me aware of your existence.” You felt your jaw drop. You didn’t make Ingo self aware, it sort of just happened! Not to mention you have no idea how the hell Volo was aware like Ingo. He stepped closer. Just as the Gliscor moved to attack, it froze in place. You stared, almost horrified as Volo simply pushed the pokemon out of the way. Had he learned to control the code as well? His arms lashed out, and he used his body to pin you to the tree. He leaned in close, and you held your breath. “You are the god of the world. Not the legendaries. Not Arceus. You.” You wanted to call him delusional. This wasn’t his first rodeo on such topics. But you couldn’t help but feel he truly thought you were a god. The implications made you nervous. Volo’s smirk melted into a frown, his eyes turning sharp as they took you in. “So why? Why did you choose Ingo?” Your head was spinning. “Why did I choose him?” You repeated. You choose him because your relationship happened naturally. You didn’t choose him like picking someone for your dodgeball team… Volo narrowed his eyes. “Is it because he’s a strong trainer? A Warden? Or is it because you know who he used to be?” You opened your mouth to answer, getting fed up with this, but he cut you off. “I could worship you better than he ever could.” You stared at him like he grew another head. “He doesn’t worship me-” Volo punched the tree behind you, and you flinched. “Then why? Why did you choose him?! I could devote myself to you in ways he could only dream of!” Biting your lip, you glared at the blonde above you. You were tired of being talked over, and for him cornering you. You didn’t like being spoken to like this. And you were scared. This only confirmed your slight suspicions from a few weeks ago. Volo was self aware as well. However, it was worse than you thought. He didn’t know what a video game was, unlike Ingo, who had some semblance from his broken memories. So his natural conclusion? He assumed you were a god, using the Hero as a vessel to play around in his world. You hated how close to the truth that was. You weren’t a god, but this world was created for your own’s entertainment. This however, was insane. You were a human, with a self aware boyfriend. Not a god. You didn’t even know how to manipulate the code in this world like Ingo. If anything, both Ingo and now Volo had more power than you ever did. Volo moved, and grabbed your chin with his free hand. “Let me worship you like you deserve. No one else but Ingo knows about you and your power. You deserve the best. Let me help you.” he asked. His voice was low, and he was too close for comfort. A beat passed. Finally, you snapped out of your daze, and ducked out of his grasp, moving away from the tree. “You can believe what you want, but I’m with Ingo. I didn’t choose him out of nowhere. We grew close naturally! I never asked him to worship me, and I’m fine with him not doing so!” You exclaimed, throwing your arms in the air. “Perhaps I should. You certainly are divine, my dear.” The familiar voice had you spinning on your heels. There Ingo was behind you. And he looked pissed. He was no longer hunched over, like normal. His back was up straight, and his eyes were glowing silver as he stared Volo down. “I knew I should have killed you.” Ingo hissed, and you panicked, looking between the two men. Despite the threat, Volo almost seemed amused. “And yet you did not. Why is that?” Ingo’s fists clenched, and you quickly ran over to him, and gripped one of his arms. “They wanted to have mercy on you. Now, I don’t feel like you should have such luxury.” Ingo claimed. You looked back and forth between the two, before tugging on Ingo’s sleeve. “Ingo, the code! We don’t know what will happen!” You insisted. Yeah, you were kinda in a slight panic, but you didn’t want Ingo to kill the guy. Especially if neither of you knew the consequences. Ingo’s eyes flickered to you, and you nearly stepped back at how intense they were. You refused to budge. “Do we really wanna risk the consequences?” You asked. And Ingo didn’t look away from you. You both stared at each other for a few moments. Eventually, Ingo sighed, and grabbed you by the waist, before pointing at Volo. “Leave us alone. Just because I won’t kill you now, doesn’t mean you are safe.” He threatened. Volo’s eyes widened slightly, but he waved his hand, not taking him seriously. Volo turned, and looked at you both from over his shoulder. “Whatever you say, Warden.” His eyes landed on you. “Think about what I said, Your Grace.” With a few steps, he was gone. You felt your mouth go dry. He could use code too. Looking up at your boyfriend, Ingo was staring where Volo had disappeared, his jaw clenched. “Man… Talk about a way to ruin a mood…” You mumbled, rubbing your temples. This was not good for your stress. Ingo glanced down at you, and pulled you into a hug. “I’m sorry for not appearing in time, my dear.” He whispered, rubbing a hand through your hair. You practically melted into his embrace. “It’s okay. You still showed up. Thank you.” You mumbled into his tunic. Nuzzling him a bit, you wrapped your arms around his neck. “He… He kinda scared me. But… I don’t think I can be mad. He doesn’t know what a video game is, and his best conclusion was that I am a god.” Your face scrunched up. You didn’t see yourself as a god. Ingo placed a kiss to the top of your head. “You are certainly a god to me, dear.” He whispered, and you laughed, thinking he was teasing. You leaned up, and kissed him on the lips. You weren’t aware how truthful he was being. You may be a human in your world, but you were everything to him. He worshiped the ground you walked on. He just didn’t tell you. Ingo’s mind was a flurry of thoughts. Volo was self aware, just as he had feared. Not only that, but he had placed his delusions onto you. Ingo couldn’t blame him. You were perfect. But you were, undoubtedly, his. You even confirmed it yourself, coming to his defense, not knowing Ingo could hear your every word. Knowing you still chose him over that god–crazed lunatic made his heart swell. He was your chosen lover, and guard. He would do anything for you. Though he internally cursed his luck. If Volo could manipulate code, that made things difficult. Not to mention, he still hadn’t destroyed Volo out of fear of what may happen to this world if he did. Especially with you currently in it. Still, this put Ingo on edge. If Volo of all NPCs gained sentience, what did that say about everyone else? Ingo’s eyes landed on you. Was it from him messing with the code, so he could be with you? Did his desire to meet you change the game to its very core? Or was it you? You being in this world is something that was never originally in the data. Was your presence changing things? Ingo wasn’t sure he wanted to find out. Sure, Ingo was positive no one could use the code to the same degree he could. He had spent months studying it in and out. However… Perhaps this world wasn’t as safe as he had hoped. Kissing your head once more, Ingo held you close. “Come on, my dear. Let’s go home and get some food.” He had a lot of troubling things to think about.

“I think Volo’s been trying to kill Y/N.”
“You- Wait a second here Adaman! You mean to say that you think Volo, that blonde Gingko weirdo has been trying to kill Y/N, and you’re just going to throw her a party?” Melli said incredulously as he quickly tried to gather his thoughts but found that he could barely think one up after Adaman’s previous revelation.
“The Gathering, Melli- it isn’t only to unite both clans-” Adaman continued, hands finally opening and letting Melli’s uniform go, the tall man in said uniform equally feeling as if he had been dropped with everything Adaman was revealing to him.
“She is in love with Warden Ingo, and he is in love with her. The Gathering is-“
-
Melli watched as both Pearl Clan Wardens continued to approach, Ingo and Calaba walking side by side, conversing with one another.
An unknown feeling welled inside of the Diamond Clan Warden as he observed Ingo, wind tilting the man’s bizarre hat back just enough for him to grab at it, remembering Adaman’s words; You loved Ingo, and Ingo loved you, neither of you knowing of the other’s love.
There Melli remained, continuing to eye both Wardens as they grew close enough to finally see him.
“Good afternoon Warden Melli!” Ingo’s booming voice greeted him as he began to stop, most likely intending to speak to him like he always did when they saw eachother. Not that Melli really wanted to talk to the man who had also fallen from the sky… just like you had.
It was only then that Melli looked down at the clothes in Ingo’s hold, surprise coursing through him at the sight. Why did Ingo have-
Behind Ingo stood Calaba, finger resting on her lip in a motion to demand silence, winking as she noticed Melli’s gaze flicker on her form.
“Good afternoon Warden Melli. Ingo, I shall continue on and leave you with Melli, Lady Irida requires my help.” Calaba said with a firm voice, already walking away from the duo of men, visibly not wanting to hear an answer back.
“I see that Mistress Calaba has given you her late husband’s.. attire.” Melli tried to say after a second of silence, eyes landing once more on a very familiar type of attire clutched in the Warden’s hands.
‘Of course Calaba would do that’, Melli thought, eyes flickering back for a second to her retreating form.
“Yes! Lady Calaba was most gracious to gift me such an important attire for the Gathering! I shall wear it with pride.” Ingo happily replied, face far too neutral compared to his tone, in Melli’s honest opinion.
For what felt like the 50th time, he watched as the strange Warden looked out upon the vast land, as if searching for something… someone.
“Adaman has informed me that Lord Wyrdeer has already departed to fetch Y/N.” Melli decided to say, words startling Ingo, as if he’d already been lost in his own thoughts.
“A-Ah, yes? That is most welcome news, Lady Y/N will enjoy the festivities!” Ingo said after a moment, searching for his words. The simple act of hearing of your impending arrival caused the soft flames inside of Ingo’s body to burn brighter, thoughts wandering as he tried to imagine just how beautiful you would look.
.
..
.
You hadn’t realized just how fragile a healing leg could be until now.
You were quickly learning that singularly important fact as you rode atop Lord Wyrdeer’s back, each little bump sending a fiery hot pain up your faintly bruised limb, drawing another hiss from you.
Once again, the Pokemon Lord turned its head to the side, eyeing you to be sure you were alright.
“It’s alright, we can continue.” You smiled, petting its fur in what you hoped would be perceived as a sign to continue. The Lord huffed, continuing on, seeming to give you another side eye as if he knew you were lying.
You felt lucky to have your shiny Hisuian Zoroark following you. It walked slowly beside you, seeming as if in deep thought, and truthfully? It was. It could see just how stressed you were becoming with each step closer to arriving at your destination.
It had noticed the signs between you and the man with silver eyes, remembering how the sound of your heart had accelerated in the man’s presence and not to mention the scent that both your bodies had given off.
Furthermore, you had been the one to boldly ask for it to familiarize itself with your scents intermingled…
Then why did you now reek of such negative emotions if you were on your way to see the silver eyed man that made your heart race?
Your Zoroark didn’t like it, yellow eyes shifting back towards you, wondering if it could bring you joy instead. Silently, it watched as you winced once more, the culprit most likely being your injured limb as the Pokemon beside it continued to walk its quick pace.
Quickly did it shift into the father figure you loved, holding itself exactly like the man did when reading your new entries in the Pokédex. To its elated surprise, you gasped at the sight of it and laughed, congratulating it on a perfect recreation.
It continued, switching between various people it had seen you interact with. That old man you called Ginter, the woman named Cyllene, even going as far as transforming into Nurse Pesselle, pretending to chastise you about your knee, just like it had watched the pink-haired woman do.
It was only when it shifted into a certain Ginkgo merchant did your smile leave your face, unease settling in your soul.
Your heart began to race but not in a good way, rationality flying out the windows of your mind and yelling at you to escape as Volo turned to look at you once more.
Vaguely, in the far far recesses of your mind, your brain recognized just how incredible the extent of which your Pokemon could imitate the man was, Volo’s dead eyes staring back at you, hands reaching for you-
“NO!” You yelled out, almost falling off of the Noble Lord’s back as you tried to scramble away from Volo, scaring both Pokemon. Quickly did your Zoroark try to understand what had happened, guilt heavy on it’s mind as it realized the form it had taken had been the one to scare you so, the pungent nauseating scent of your fear staining the air around you. It could see the way you now shook, hands gripping at the Noble Pokemon beneath you with your eyes closed.
It hurriedly took the form of the being it knew you loved, remembering the man’s face clearly as if you still stood alongside him in Horseshoe Plains.
“Lady Y/N.”
You startled at the familiar sound, heart now racing for an entirely different reason as you were mentally brought back into time, remembering just how you had startled from your seat up upon the rock you had sat on.
‘Ingo’ stood before you, form relaxed and silent, yellow eyes watching you intently as you watched it back.
It was almost heartbreaking as realization hit you, the error of you previous actions catching up to you.
Your poor Zoroark had no clue what Volo could have possibly invoked in you.
You carefully descended from Lord Wyrdeer’s back and approached ‘Ingo’, smiling softly as your Pokemon whimpered, trying to communicate something with you.
“I'm sorry for how I reacted, Zoroark, it wasn’t you that scared me.” You cooed, hands moving and caressing its face and fur, the illusion of the man you loved quickly dissipating into thin air, leaving you to stare back at your Pokemon.
It required no words of apologies from you, its master, choosing instead to bury its face against your shoulder as you held it close, whispering words of praise at its amazing illusion skills.
.
..
.
Your heart slammed against your ribs as you neared the new settlement for both Clans, eyes flickering to and from the form you knew to be Ingo’s, not wanting to make this any more uncomfortable then it would already be. You couldn't help but imagine a dozen of outcomes this all could have, none of them including you under Ingo’s frame, thighs wrapped around his hips.
‘He didn’t come back because he wasn’t interested in you like that’, you mentally repeated to yourself, needy chills climbing up your spine as you instead tried to take in the beautiful view before you.
Different varying sizes of yurts and huts had already been built for the Gathering while more Diamond and Pearl clan members worked together in erecting more, children of both clans zipping around the vast area.
What seemed to be a large yurt lay against the ground farther away, more members of each clan chatting amongst eachother in what seemed to be a small argument on how to begin building it. Your staring must have caused the hairs on a woman’s neck to rise as seconds later, she curiously turned, wide eyes landing on your approaching form.
“Lady Y/N has arrived!!” She yelled out like a mother Pokemon alerting its young, dozens of heads following her line of view and landing on you, including Ingo’s searing gaze. You cursed silently at your lack of luck, a soft smile plastered against your lips as the woman waved to you in greeting. More Clan members filtered out of the yurts, joyful cheers erupting as Wyrdeer neared the settlement at a slower pace (which you silently thanked him for, whispering softly that you would bring him berries for his amazing work).
-
Gaeric had watched with interest as you approached before drifting his gaze towards his fellow Pearl Clan Warden, who had yet to fully see your beautiful form. He softly chuckled, remembering Irida’s bold request.
“Adaman has requested our aid in helping Y/N and Warden Ingo confess their feelings for one another.”
Oh, he was going to do way more then get only a confession out of his strange but kind Clan brother.
-
Ingo stood passively beside the now silent Melli as you continued to approach atop of the Pokemon Lord, waving back at the multiple Clans members who greeted you.
Oh, you were even more breathtaking then he had last seen you, your hair already up in a seemingly formal fashion. Ingo wondered perhaps if Zisu had helped you, or Cyllene.
As if by impulse alone, Ingo began making his way towards the crowd who now encircled you, hands burning with how they craved to help you down from atop the Noble Lord’s back and proclaim his love-
A dizzying sound of silence filled his ears as he watched Warden Gaeric rush to your side, smiling dazzlingly as he stared up at you.
“Y/N! Let my muscles help you down!” Gaeric said, Ingo’s sharp gray eyes also drifting up to you instead of the man waiting to be allowed to help you. You smiled widely, a laugh exiting your lips for-
For Gaeric.
Not for him, like he had seen you smile while meeting him at the Training Grounds so many times before, smiling at him while watching Zisu yelling at new recruits, no. You were smiling for Gaeric, hand gently moving to the man’s outstretched one, holding it as he began helping you down and off Lord Wyrdeer’s back. The blue haired Warden’s hand remained on your person, drifting slowly to the dip of your lower back.
A spark of jealousy ignited inside of Ingo as he watched Gaeric continue to help you instead of him, hand now firmly pressed to the middle of your back…
It also didn’t escape Ingo that this was now the second time he felt envious of Warden Gaeric, the first time being when Lady Irida had informed him all the weeks ago of your unfortunate incident.
A noise came from behind him, startling Ingo briefly before remembering that he had been speaking with Melli just moments ago. Oh how you scrambled his brain and thoughts, so much so that he had forgotten about the man’s presence.
“I.. heard that Lady Y/N has many suitors after her hand.” Ingo murmured to the tall man after a tense second, deflating considerably.
The faint optimism that had spread within him after his chat with Lady Calaba dwindled, causing him to wonder if he’d perhaps truly lost his chance to be yours by not returning to Jubilife Village after the rumor had begun. Hope that had burned so brightly sparked within his chest.
No matter how Ingo tried to hide it, Melli could hear the yearning in his voice, hear the absolute need in his tone as he regarded you from afar, hands flexing at his sides as if to restrain himself from running to you.
The news didn’t really surprise the tall Warden much; you were beautiful, smart, strong, and a courageous woman, only a fool wouldn’t want a woman such as yourself to be theirs.
But at the same time… it did surprise Melli. It was only a mere few months ago that practically half of the people of Hisui had heard of you, everyone weary and mistrustful of the strange woman fallen from a space rift in the sky. Including him.
When had you begun to receive offerings from suitors? Who was to accept or deny each one?
For what felt like the 51st time today already, Melli watched the Warden beside him, and decided to refrain from teasing or insulting the man.
“I was not aware. I wonder who Y/N will pick to be her husband.”
Both Warden’s silently watched your interaction with the muscular Warden; you smiled gratefully to Gaeric for his help, but Melli could see the touch of unease grace your visage.
It was only when Gaeric laid his hand on the small of your back to lead you to the women’s tents did you turn, usually brilliant bright eyes now searching behind you, head turned as far as you could go before disappearing entirely into the crowd.

Girl holy shit I am SUCH a slut for a) closeted pervert Warden Ingo w/ a size kink and 2) Warden Ingo who thinks he’s much older than he really is. (Shit where he’s like “None of these boys could ever satisfy you, so you went after an old man like me.” Just fuckin’ SENDS me idk why.) It goes really well with me being short (5’2) and petite but still kinda thicc when it comes to the lower half (thighs specifically).
(I’m very much 24 but if I don’t tell people my age they absolutely look at me and go “who’s fucking literal child is this? Where are your parents” and I just :/ )
But like omgggg imagine everyone being like holy shit the Hero had literally anyone in Hisui to choose from and they chose literally peepaw Ingo from the Pearl Clan??? And my non-binary adhd ass is just like- “Haha funny train man so interesting :)” head enpty, no brain cells, my ace weavile hanging off my shoulders like a koala, following him around the highlands like a lost puppy listening to him talk because I magnetically attach to people who are also dubbed “weird” and he’s cute and I love his personality. Meanwhile everyone is looking at Ingo like he’s a super chad for being “old” and somehow snagging the Hero of Hisui who is marginally younger. And no one can figure out why. It’s literally the funniest fucking concept to me idk why. Meanwhile I’m just sitting there like, man I hate gender roles but he is the only man I would happily become a housewife for, I hope he wifes me and lets me have his kids. :)
-Pan (hi!! Long time no see, I’m still living! And I hope you’re doing well and have a super good day!! 🥺❤️) I’ve also taken to drawing dumb shitposts while I’m at work if you’re interested in seeing my submas/Pokémon brain rot :)
Hello again pan!
Yes closet perv W!ingo will never not satisfy my thirst.
He takes great pride in knowing that he could satisfy you far more than any other immature boy in that Village.
Living in the wild has changed him.
SAME my hate for gender roles quickly goes away when I see this man

@pinkcanine is also a good pokemon blog! like trixie i think hes more into splatoon atm but still consistently posts pokemon and hes also a good friend of mine! theyre into competitive pokemon, fangames, pmd, and the anime!
@moonscape is also a good pokemon blog! again, non exclusive to pokemon but posts a lot of stuff from pmd (including his ocs!), the games, the anime, and fangames like rejuv and unbound! also again very epic person yay ^^
@sparkxii is more focused on transformers but also has good pokemon content from the games and occasionally the anime!
@revalentinee again non exclusive but posts a lot of her ocs! she does a lot of nuzlocke runs and posts her content from them, she also posts a lot of art from them and is also a very nice person!
@rocknoceros is also pretty cool! its also doing a big rewatch of the pokemon anime and also a mega nuzlocke run! very nice person as well ^^

PROFESSOR BELLIS STOP GIVING ME MANKEY EGGS TO HATCH CHALLENGE

My #1 post of 2022
ok so i've read the fics where ingo recognizes emmet right away, or very soon after meeting, or when he sees emmet he gets flashbacks and tries to run away or something bc he thinks his brother is actually some illusioned-up zoroark or something. also those fics where they meet in their dreams, or in the rifts. which are all very good!
but specifically that one fic where ingo sees like, little hallucinations of emmet out of the corner of his eye after he gets some of his memory back stuck w me. and basically i think...
what if when the twins meet again, maybe w the PLA protag or the clan leaders... emmet sees ingo give a quick glimpse at him, then pointedly ignore him.
he can't figure out why (is his brother mad at him for not finding him sooner? has he been so traumatized by the separation that he can't look directly at him, the way emmet had a hard time w mirrors during ingo's disappearance?), but meanwhile, ingo is frantically running down his mental checklist of tasks.
1. did he get enough sleep? (yes, a full eight hours before he was roped into this meeting, plus w the baby sneasels and lady sneasel.)
2. did he have enough to eat? (yes, he had a meal at the wallflower a few hours ago... with some cake lures and berries as emergency provisions if he does get hungry.)
3. is he injured anywhere? (no, the last wounds he got, some abrasions from the debris that flew up while he was fighting akari a few weeks ago, healed up just fine.)
having checked off all the criteria, ingo slowly looked up, and despite his better judgement, very carefully met gazes with the white-clothed man with his face that was still, inexplicably, there.
"warden ingo, are you alright?" professor laventon's assistant asked him quietly.
"yes, my engine is in perfect condition," ingo lied, deliberately turning away from the obvious hallucination. maybe it would vanish when he stopped making direct eye contact with it, like it always had before - he couldn't entertain the possibility of his mental state potentially getting worse and having the white-clothed man appear outside the dire situations he'd always seen him it in.
(he didn't need more people in the pearl clan whispering about his uncanny habit of talking to the air, or akari eyeing him with concern whenever he was caught spacing out while turning to the left after she'd felled one of his pokemon in battle.)
so yeah, ingo is very used to seeing emmet whenever he gets into trouble somehow... so much so that he has a hard time remembering that he CAN talk to his twin now, in the flesh, without people looking at him crazy lol.
of course, emmet isn't going to stand for his brother ignoring him forever, no matter what he might've done or what ingo thinks, so he ends up goading him into talking to him right in the middle of the meeting (about past-future information exchange or something prolly, idk), and ingo ends up yelling at him like "not now, sleep hallucination! we're in the middle of something!" (bc most of the time he's suffering from insomnia when he sees hallucination-emmet, and "injury hallucination" is significantly more worrying to most - and also rolls off the tongue less imo - to say), which attracts everyone's attention. and the twins have an argument-sation about whether emmet is hallusionary (thank you esama for that great combination of hallucination + illusion), whether it was polite to yell at your brother (remembered or not, real or not) after not seeing him for a while, and how much sleep ingo usually got in a night.
after a while of this, rei is like "...who are you talking to, warden?" (bc honestly akari gets all the spotlight and i like to include cute nerdy assistant boy more), and ingo points at him like "SEE, he just asked who i was talking to, THAT MEANS you're as fake as always!" and emmet scoffs (still smiling in relief tho) before rei is like "actually, i meant 'who is that man who looks like you, warden?'"
ingo realizes that people can see his hallucination, somehow, and spends a brief moment horrified that some zoroark has brought his friendly illusion to life to torment him, or perhaps he's dreaming right now - before it hits him.
the illusion is... real. that's a real man standing before him, feeling very familiar, who looks just like him.
and ingo just derailed a meeting to debate with him and reveal his possibly decaying mental state.
...ingo is very embarrassed.

Now i know in the OG au Emmet becomes Ingos warden but now there are two of them. I imagine Emmet probably helps Ingo with keeping the zoroarks at bay but i also dont think the people are going to be as accepting of the hisuin form. Sure Irida (i honestly dont know if im spelling that right i just call her irritation or irritable) knows that Emmet is good but convincing the masses is different. Would you still have Emmet become his warden? Or maybe Adam (wtf was the rest?) tries to claim that zoroark as diamond clan. “There are two its ment to keep things balanced between the clans” or something. Emmet probably openly rejects the idea of a warden. “I am Emmet all i need is my brother!” Oh oh lord im thinking about it now holdmy beer (crap i gotta google adams full name for this)
Adaman decided to take matters into his own hands. Hes a clan leader and its about time they stopped waisting time discussing this. Clearly almighty Sinnoh sent two for a reason. That reason is because there are two clans. Its clear as day. So he sets off to find the Zoroark. He finds Emmet around Lady Sneaselers den, not thathe dares barge in. To his luck the Zoroark in wuestion actually approached him! Quite a good sign, no time wasted indeed!
Right before that of course Ingo and Lady Sneaseler had know of his approach. Ingo was venting a little about the whole situation. They dont need anyone following them around and getting into their business. Not to mention Ingo has his own warden duties! He doesnt want to add more by having to pretend to be a warden himself. So Emmet decided to take matters into his own hands(claws?) and just said be would deal with it. Oh Ingo you should have stopped him
So Emmet walks up to Adaman. Towers over him menacingly. Adaman feeling the pressure a little starts his lil speech he prepared. Emmet just stands there waiting unfazed. Once Adaman finished he looks to the Zoroark with determination and hope. Emmet almost cridged. “I am Emmet, i do not need a warden. All i need is my brother!” Adaman.exe has stopped responding. Sneaseler laughing her ass off while Ingo face paws (~w*) Much to his credit Adaman recovers rather quickly “I understand but a warden would only be there to help you. And even this brother of yours!” Wow give the man some applause, he just recovered from a talking pokemon in record time. “I said NO and that is all i have to say on it! Neither me nor my brother require your wardens nor do either of us want one. Good-bye” and Emmet just climbs back into the denn. Leaving the man to struggle with a rejection that stung as much as his childhood sweethearts.
Wow that got longer than normal xD i actuslly wanna keep going but my cat keeps stepping on my phone smh she almost sent this halfway in
Ooooo that's actually pretty interesting to think abt ngl, Ingo's warden situayion being unresolved and then having a random hisuian zoroark follow him around is interesting.
Honestly IDK whether the 'pretending to be Ingo's pokemon' or 'hanging around Sneasler and undisguised Ingo works better' tbf.
I could definitely see accusations going around when Emmet is seen near the new noble black zoroark, but also the idea of the clans bickering over having two zoroark nobles is another path to take so I'm gonna have to add one of those plot points to the next part of the story.

I've come up w/ some AUs where they all boil down to:
"Character X ends up in our world w/o their past memories & character Y travels to this world to bring them back."
So here's 3 fake titles & sypnopsises under the cut.
If you want to make any content for/based on/inspired by anything here, feel free to do so.
Let me know if I need to add any tags or warnings & beware of Arceus Legends spoilers.

T-T-Trio of Truths and Ideals
Siblings Touya and Touko loved the Black and White Pokemon games and sequels since release, replaying their games over and over again. The Gen 5 games were undeniably their favorite.
When their new neighbor, Tomomi, moves in and is just as in love with Pokemon as them, it's no wonder he slots into becoming their friend so perfectly.
One day, during a camping trip, Tomomi takes out an incredibly good looking pokeball which the siblings wish they had been shown sooner.
Their praises for Tomomi's pokeball are cut short when he presses the button and HOLY SHIT IS THAT A GIANT DRAGON IN FRONT OF THEM—?
For whatever reason, the 1st BW protagonists wind up in our world w/o their memories. N who has been looking for them finally finds them after searching for so long, but it's gonna be a while before he can get the 2 to remember everything.
To make things harder, Pokemon aren't real here, so he has to be careful when letting the ones on him out.
--------------------
I'm Not The Heir of a Fictional Cult!
Tomomi curled up as much as he could while he had the black fox in his arms, making as little sound as he could where he hid in the closet.
All he could do was pray he wasn't found and that those cosplayers in his house eventually left.
His hopes went unfounded when the closet doors arruptly opened and he looked up in horror at the person wearing a Plasma Grunt uniform from Pokemon Black and White.
Or: N—or Tomomi now—winds up in our world w/o any memory of his old life at some point in the timeline.
Nevertheless, he is the king or heir (depending on when he get isekaied) of Team Plasma, so they have to search for him, even if they must cross realities to do so.
The black fox may or may not be a zorua is disguise that accidentally ended up here too.
Tomomi was raised w/ completely different values than when he was in Unova, so it's possible he'll push back against Plasma, especially if he's educated well on the nature of cults.
Gonna be a bit difficult when he has no memory of living in the pokemon world though, even if he has all the meta knowledge the games & internet could have offered him.
--------------------
"I am Kudari. I am an only child."
Kudari was never expecting to be approached by two people cosplaying as Gym Leader Elesa and Warden Ingo from Pokemon, but there's a first time for everything.
Fortunately, they only had an off first impression and a friendship with the two became a close-knit friendship that borderlined on siblinghood.
So forgive him when he gets the scare of his life waking up to being cuddled by ginormous creatures he could almost swear resembled pokemon.
Emmet & Ingo disappear at the same time, but while Ingo when to Hisui, Emmet comes to our world. Ingo comes back to modern Unova 1st since he's still in the same world, just during a different time. Emmet however is in a whole other world where legendary Pokemon may or may not have no power to do anything.
Ingo & Elesa didn't expect Emmet to be used to a life where Pokemon are mere fiction, so for a good while, they're not just rebuilding his relationship w/ him, they have to figure out how to reintroduce Emmet to a life of real pokemon.
This time comes earlier than expected when Emmet's pokemon break out of their pokeballs to reunite w/ their trainer they missed so much.

The legends art book has not only blessed us with Baldo (Bald Ingo) but what I think is often overlooked is the little tidbit of Melli of all people apperantly having a beautiful singing voice. Anything for reader being equally shocked that this primadonna has actually the skills to back up his boasting for the first time ever and flustered, because they already thought he was cute, in an "Annoying Meowth that won't stop mewling at 3 am in front of your window" , kinda way and they did NOT expect him to actually manage to be smooth while singing old Hisuian love ballads.
👀 your wish is my command.
-
-
When traveling around the highlands this late you didn’t expect to find Melli still here, he usually cries about his beauty sleep and how it takes hours to look as good as he does.
But he seems to be the only one out, and you’re bored, so why not bother him? Sure he’s very pretty and easy on the eyes, but that who of his makes it difficult, well, use to.
The closer you got so did your confusion.
You stood on top of the entrance to the moonview arena watching him gracefully move around the arena in slow calculated turns.
His voice was melodic and beautiful, the way it echoes in the area was enthralling.
You found yourself sitting down watching him dance and listening to him sing. The sweet ballade was capturing your heart.
But listening to his words there have been a few changes made to the song that are obvious.
But it was all so enchanting you didn’t question it.
You were so shocked and in awe that he could sing how could you even begin to question the lyrics of such a beautiful love song?
By the time he was done you clap. For once he deserves some praise and hopefully it doesn’t boost his ego.
Melli screeches at the sudden applause.
“What are you doing here!?” The warden huffs and turns away, trying to hide his blush.
“I was out on a survey, but I hate to say it, you’re gorgeous voice put me in a trance, so here I am.”
“You heard all of it!? Oh almighty Sinnoh above!”
“You’re an amazing singer, I’ll give you that.”
Melli turns to you so quickly you think he slapped himself with his hair.
“W-well of course I do, I am amazing after all, it’s only natural.”
You tilt your head at him, confused, he never stutters, and his face is practically glowing red, he’s refusing to make eye contact or even look at you.
“Are you that embarrassed I heard you singing?”
“No, I’m never embarrassed! It was just an old song anyways you probably didn’t even understand.” You watch the warden try his best to glare at you.
“A love song, right? It was very lovely.” You keep trying to be nice, but your words only make him blush more.
Melli doesn’t speak anymore, trying to hide under his beanie. He’s mumbling something you can’t quite make up from your spot.
Hopping down he squeaks and tries to hide more.
You’ve never seen him like this, was it because it’s a genuine compliment?
“Your singing voice is very smooth and lovely.” You laugh quietly at his incoherent mumbling.
“Well should get back to work, thank you for the concert.” You wave bye and take your leave.
Once he was sure you were gone he muffles his scream.
You heard him! You even liked it! Did you realize he was just trying to get his emotions out about you as to not act on them? Oh he hopes not, he’d never love it down.
Melli can’t calm his racing heart. His sleep schedule is ruined from staying up thinking about your praise.

I've been thinking... When we first meet Calaba she is very devoted to the traditions and pretty distrustful towards everyone that isn't part of the Pearl-Clan.
I can imagine she was one of the loudest people being against Ingo becoming a Warden, maybe even him becoming part of the Pearl Clan him being a stranger and all. But once the decision was made she didn't complain but was still wary towards him. And their relationship was purely professional.
After meeting Akari and her change of heart I'd like to imagine she seeks him out to apologize for her behavior towards him, hoping he would forgive her. Ingo understands her point of view, of being wary of outsider but is happy about her change of heart. Their relationship improves and Calaba often makes him medicine or a salve for his feet. (considering the legwork he is doing this guy definitely needs something for his tired feet after walking around all day)
I share the same thoughts Anon! I hinted at that a little bit in my fic It’s Just A Cold, actually! But I really like the progression you have laid out in terms of their relationship, it’s so good!! (And I love anything having to do with Calaba because she is actually high up there on my list of favorites… she’s a grandma with a beaver and a big bear!!)
Seeing as how Calaba was so set in tradition and her own ways, and didn’t want your help or anyone else’s when she first meets you, I felt that she was perhaps the same way with Ingo when he first came to Hisui and joined the Pearl clan.
I love your progression though of it going from distrust, to tolerance, to acceptance and a change of heart ;w; and even making him stuff!!!
And yeah you made me realize just how much he probably needs something for his feet the guy walks everywhere in the same pair of shoes he dropped into Hisui with!

Okay, hope you don't mind, I'm gonna ramble about two very specific Diamond Clan Wardens: Arezu and Melli. These two formed a nice spot in my heart because their Nobles are the only ones the Diamond Clan worships that got frenzied, so that is something they have in common. Not only, but they tried to take care of their frenzied Nobles by themselves. Arezu, as we all know, made the balms and would have attempted to calm her Lady if she hadn't sprained her ankle without telling Adaman because she didn't want to stress him out. This is also something that went under the radar, but when you're being told about frenzied Kleavour in-game, Adaman mentions that they had a Noble who frenzied in the mountains- meaning that Electrobe was probably frenzied for months before the player even got access to the Coronet Highlands! Melli had to deal with a literal bomb by himself the whole time! That's a lot of pressure on both of them for trying to handle the situation for so long because (as Melli would deny because it's Melli) they didn't want anyone else to get hurt. Since Melli looks up to Adaman like an older brother (and probably Arezu as well), I think they both wanted to prove to him that they had a handle on the situations; fueling their reluctance to seek help because it means they weren't strong enough on their own. Besides the common area of being Wardens whose Nobles were frenzied, I also think there would be ADHD/Autism solidarity in Arezu and Melli. I have a light headcanon that Melli is incredibly sensitive with his hair and Arezu is literally one of the only people allowed to touch it. They gossip and chat while Arezu brushes Melli's hair and it's one of the few times Melli is calm. Also, just now realizing this after typing all this down, but both of their Nobles are part grass-types! They'd talk endlessly about the differences and similarities between their Nobles sharing a grass type! There's just a lot of potential for a friendship between the two and it's a shame no one has done anything with it yet.

Melli’s the favorite!
Melli is honestly such a great character, and a good choice for a favorite warden! He’s very fun, for all of the reasons you all have pointed out. @pup-themlin I agree he is quite the character! I found him annoying at first, but I quickly grew to like him seeing fan-interpretations and analysis of his character. I’d let him ramble to me too!
He appears to be very shallow in terms of behavior, but once you find out it’s a front, and he really used to be shy as a kid until he changed himself for Adaman, he shows layers to him.
@coffee-craving-canine , the potential for Arezu and Melli’s friendship dynamic is SO GOOD. And with Adaman possibly knowing about Lord Electrode’s frenzy (for months?); Melli does say he thinks there’s nothing wrong with it, and he thinks it was a gift of more power. But like his personality, is this a possible front too? He does help us, after all, with Adaman and Ingo’s insistence.
YES! I love your headcanon for Melli and Arezu!! It would make sense; Melli has such nice hair, and Arezu is a hair stylist! And you’re right, they do both have grass-type nobles!
Now I’m in love with the thought of Arezu and Melli having a friendship, that’s so great ;w;
And thank you Anon!! I’m so happy you enjoyed how I wrote him! Those were some of my first fics and I’ve gotten more experienced with writing since then; I might have written him a bit different with what I’ve learned about him since then, but generally I still see him the same way you said! He puts up a front and will defend it, but there is a layer to him that does care, and it cares deeply! These layers to clash sometimes haha, it makes him a very entertaining character!
Melli is great!
