- After you do past that threshold he'll only now realises how down bad he is

- I don't think he would care too much he would be more confused on weather a relationship with another guy is gonna be different

- Dosnt go into hugging and holding hands till a bit latter but again once he passes that threshold he will be all over you

- very clingy cause there is no difference between dating a guy or a girl it's just dating it shouldn't need to be so complicated

Bo Sinclair

- He will treat u like a guy friend for a very long while

- The straightest gay man you'll ever know

- will probably make alot of the "kiss the homies" jokes and flirt alot but in a "we're just 2 guy friends" way

- but the second you flirt back (joke or not) Bo will begin the spiral and start questioning everything

- He's gonna get very blushy and flustered and deny it all saying it was just a bad joke and leave

- Try and explain that dating a guy won't make him any less of a man and give him time to think about it

- Afterwards he'll treat you like he would any other lover but that still wont stop him from getting flustered whenever you flirt

Lester Sinclair

- He always kinda suspected he liked guys but never gave it much thought

- and then you come into his life and he knows he is head over heels in love

- Lester is pan btw, idk how to explain it but he is

- He'll love to just have a partner around and is absolutely over the moon it's you

- like he won't care that you a guy he just loves you and that's all that matters (thats all that should matter 😌)

Vincent Sinclair

- he is gonna be falling for you the second he see's you

- He's always been a bit gay and now he is absolutely in love with a guy

- like shake his hand or touch him in anyway and man's is gonna have a gay break down

- He wouldn't be very open about it so you'll need to ask him

- and he won't deny it, he's more afraid you won't feel the same

- say you do feel the same and Vincent will be the happiest man alive

- he would still be anxious about touch but that's just him not being used to it

- after a while he would be comfortable just holding hands, or cuddling but would enjoy being the lil spoon more

Thomas Hewitt

- it would take him a bit to connect the dots, he just thinks your an amazing friend

- for him to realise he likes you, you will have to do something that makes him question

- honestly just joking about being in a relationship would send him into thought

- unfortunately when poor boy realises he loves you, he'll startto worry about his family

- He would hang around you alot and help you with every little thing, any excuse he has to just be near you

Season 2 (potential) Clues

Get ready for another theory post y'all we don't have enough clearly

Being a collection of things I found weird/noteable in Season 2 that could be potential Clues for Season 3. (and my theories, some sound, some crackpot)

Note 1: I use my dudes non-genderedly

Note 2: I am not tech savvy enough to get screenshots from Scamazon or make gifs or anything so sorry for the low-quality phone images/lack of images in some cases

Jim and the God Possession

Jim and the whole memory loss thing was a great part of the show, but it did bring up some interesting moments when Jim got God-possessed (As I like to call it). These moments prove to be fairly crucial, especially the first one.

It’s through the God-voice that Aziraphale and Crowley get to thinking about the Job job. Now I have oodles of theories about what this does to/for them, but ultimately I think it comes down to relaying two main ideas. 1. There’s always a work around to the main problem

2. Demons (and to an extent angels) have free will/a choice

Now the second one is less God-like but still leads us (and Crowley) into the minisode about the magic show. Here we learn two more important pieces of information.

1. There’s such a thing as a miracle block

2. Aziraphale and Crowley can pull off tricks without needing to use miracles

My (crackpot-ish) Theory: knowing Gabriel is commonly referred to as God’s messenger in many bibles/renditions, I think it’s likely that he got redirected to Aziraphale’s shop by God to deliver these messages.

Aziraphale’s reactions during the Beelzebub/Gabriel scene

They’re feckin’ weird, my dudes.

I noticed two things right off the bat.

First. His lovey-dovey face.

Okay, I know we all know that Aziraphale feels love and that he loves love, but that doesn’t seem to be the entirety of what’s going on here. Look at that face! LOOK AT IT!

Extremely crackpot theory: Aziraphale knew about Gabe and Beelz’s relationship ahead of time.

Most likely theory: Aziraphale is happy seeing proof that it’s possible to find something more important than choosing sides

(couldn't get a gif but watch it cause there's certainly a thought pattern going on when this happens) Second. His reaction when Crowley tells Gabriel and Beelzebub about Alpha Centauri. He looks both saddened and regretful. WHY? Not just because he rejected Crowley once, but because (crackpot theory) he knows he’s gonna have to reject him again!!! Idk whatever way you look at it that’s QUITE the reaction to Crowley giving away their spot like that.

Crowley's reactions after

Let’s start with whatever Crowley is up to when the angles are all talking.

He’s just off, lounging in the chair. Doing nothing. Doesn't even RESPOND when Michael threatens to erase Aziraphale. Mr. I DID NOT CARE FOR IT, just sits there and lets that go unanswered. WHY??? Even if the book of life isn’t real like he claims, it’s still a little out of character for him to just do nothing at all. And the fact that he just sends Azirpahale off with the Metatron after is like…bruh really?

Okay now, go look at Crowley AFTER Aziraphale goes for a chat with the Metatron. IDK about anyone else but this boy does not look happy. (couldn't get any clear shots SOB) He looks angry when he’s talking to Muriel about the breakfast. And when was the last time he mentioned needing an extreme amount of alcohol? When they were trying to stop the first apocalypse.

I know that everyone’s thinking he’s all excited and happy to go see Aziraphale and get together etc. But this all happened BEFORE Maggie and Nina walked over to tell him to confess.

My Theory: Crowley does know Aziraphale, and knows how badly he wants to work with heaven and be good and all that jazz. Which is why he’s anticipating Aziraphale coming back to say, hey I’ve been offered a job. He expects them to go talk it over at breakfast and is preparing to say goodbye/help him come up with a plan to stop armageddon pt2. But then he gets the idea to confess and Aziraphale hits him with the ‘be an angel again yay’ whammy, and he just loses it.

The Non-Acceptance Acceptance

Something just interesting to note…the Metatron sends Aziraphale into the bookshop with a ‘take your time, we don’t need an answer right away’ but then comes in right after Crowley leaves acting as if Aziraphale said yes all along.

Theory (potentially crackpot): The Metatron (potentially with the help of demon Maggie{I got ideas, my duded}) manipulated and orchestrated their breakup by getting them both to a heightened state of emotions and throwing them together. He knew Aziraphale would get into a fight with Crowley and that Crowley was the only reason he wouldn’t go with them.

The Coffee and the Embassy

Do I wish the coffee was super drugged and Aziraphale was not himself? Yes. But let’s put that idea aside and just look at the facts.

I’m gonna start with how weird it is that the bookshop is still an embassy. Aziraphale does call it an ex/past-heaven outpost, but it’s still his and still has heavenly power. Whereas Crowley lost his flat when he lost his job.

Why is this? It’s possible that the flat was owned by hell whereas Azirpahale bought the shop himself. But it still doesn’t explain why heaven was still ‘protecting’ the home of a ‘traitor’.

My theory for this does concern the coffee. But not the drink itself or what may or may not be in it. Rather, the way it’s presented to Aziraphale.

First, the Metatron says some of the things in that weird way of his, like the “hefty jiggy of almond” and whatnot. It sounds very ‘hint-hint wink-wink nudge-nudge’ to me, like he’s talking in code to Aziraphale.

Second, Aziraphale says that there’s nothing left to talk about, and he’s made his position quite clear. The only time we’ve seen them talk was in Season 1 when Aziraphale tries to talk to God. And in that conversation, Aziraphale didn’t say anything about his *position*.

My theory: Azirapahle and the Metatron talked at some point between S1 end and S2 end. Most likely very closely after S1 ended, and Aziraphale did something (perhaps made a deal) where he was able to keep the shop and maintain its embassy status.

The flow of the fight

So I won’t go deep into my big crazy theory about the fight being fake, but I will point out the strange things I noticed, why they feel off, and what I think it might mean…. I also could not garner the energy to take pictures of this scene sorry SOB

First, Aziraphale when he’s telling Crowley the ‘good news’. He keeps glancing out the window. As if checking that the Metatron is still watching. And if he’s watching, we don’t know if he’s maybe listening too. And Azirpahale’s whole attitude in this opening bit feels kind of like his stage-presence.

Next, we get the weird half-information about the talk with the Metatron. We don’t really see the full convo, which is part of the point, I believe. We don’t even know if that conversation happened at all.

After that, Crowley gets thrown for a loop with the whole restoring angel status, obvs. But then they go right into their old fight of heaven and hell and good and bad. Which was, I think, the main thing that’s a little off here. And that’s because of how much Aziraphale noticed and was seen noticing those ‘light-grays’ of the world and of the whole situation. The entire graverobbing bit was him learning that the difference between good and bad and right and wrong are blurred/a matter of how you view things.

Yes, the miscommunication is the main issue here, but the fact that the good/bad debate comes up again is interesting to note. Especially since it’s Aziraphale that pulls the hell is bad heaven is good card. If we go on the idea that this conversation is being bugged and they’re trying to talk between talking, it kind of seems like Crowley is throwing out the ‘I thought we weren’t choosing sides???’ and Aziraphale brings up the good/bad to indicate that it’s not about choosing sides but about doing what’s *right* (like saving goats and children).

Next, Crowley hits us with the line about heaven ending life on earth. Because he knows the angels were planning a second armageddon. Now I don’t believe that Crowley, for however hurt he is, believes that Aziraphale would willingly go along with that plan. But Azirpahale doesn’t know about it, right? This out of place line (in direct response to heaven being the side of truth light and good) is Crowley’s way of cluing Aziraphale in on the bigger picture. Note, specifically, the pause before Crowley speaks again as Aziraphale processes that.

Aziraphale didn’t say no, but he also didn’t say yes. I think this is the key point in the argument. Aziraphale just learned that heaven is still planning to try and destroy Earth. And he knows that if he does nothing, they probably will. So here he is, essentially accepting the job so that he can put a stop to it. And here he is trying to tell Crowley that’s his plan

Crowley understands what’s going on. And he decides to confess, right? This confession gets *interesting*. First, Aziraphale glances out the window when Crowley says they’re a team, yes? Because he’s still checking for Metatron’s presence. Second, Aziraphale looks confused by Crowley’s line of reasoning. Crowley is talking about them relying on each other and working together, but Aziraphale’s idea of that (in this situation anyway) would be him coming to heaven to help.

Crowley’s eyes wander a lot, but he also looks pointedly out the window at one point, while he’s struggling to get the words out. And I think that he’s trying to get his confession out while knowing that they’re being watched/listened to. I mean, gosh it’s tough enough to confess let alone when someone is watching.

As to why Crowley decided to confess: I don’t think it’s an act of desperation to get Aziraphale to choose him over heaven and just abandon everything. I think it’s his act of desperation to get Aziraphale to realize that going to heaven has BIG FUCKING TRAP written all over it and that they can do more to fix things together on Earth than anywhere/way else. And Aziraphale pulls a similar move by asking him to come with him. He knows it’s dangerous and he does need Crowley there to help.

Now this is another weird turn in the convo. After Aziraphale asks Crowley to come with him again, Crowley throws out ‘you can’t leave the bookshop’. And Aziraphale responds with the ‘nothing lasts forever’. Now I’m sure I’m missing something here because both of these lines feel so weird and out of place I’m gonna assume they are some kind of code or I’m dense about the line of reasoning here.

What’s really interesting tho is that Aziraphale looks kind of…hopeful? After he says it, right before Crowley walks away. Like he was expecting some kind of different reaction to that line. Maybe Crowley missed the Clue, too.

After that, it’s easy to see why Aziraphale would stop him from leaving and reharp on the point of them working together in heaven. He doesn’t know if Crowley fully understands the Plan, or if he’ll help when Aziraphale needs him. And he’ll definitely need him.

Then we get another little shift in the mood/convo. Aziraphale gets angry/frustrated, possibly because Crowley isn’t picking up on the idea. We’re so used to seeing Crowley get angry in their fights, but the few times Aziraphale does get angry he gets *angry*. Here, however, he’s clearly trying to mask it.

Okay, the whole Nightingales line, imma be honest, made no sense. Like, in the fandom it makes sense because of the song, but like, in the depths of this conversation I was like ??? what a strange way to put it. But Aziraphale does react to it, so we have to assume there’s something about it that they both understood/knew. (I will touch BRIEFLY on my ‘the entire argument was a magic trick bit’ to say that this is Crowley letting Aziraphale know that the kiss/his feelings aren’t part of the scheme).

I don’t even know with the whole ‘I forgive you’ bit, man. There’s a lot of ideas, but the way Aziraphale’s face changes from shocked, to sad, to angry, to immediate regret after says a lot as well. Crackpot theory: Aziraphale trying to change Crowley to an angel early by ‘forgiving’ him as the new supreme archangel so he can kidnap him away to heaven.

After the Fight

NOW! An important thing to note after the fight! When the Metatron mentions the second coming, yeah Aziraphale get’s that OH SHIT face. But I don’t think it’s an ‘oh shit they are up to no good’ face. It’s an ‘oh shit this is a different beast than just shutting down another apocalypse’. And the way he looks at Crowley after is very much a ‘help me I’ve bitten off more than I can chew’ kinda look.

Also a potentially important thing. Crowley’s face is pretty blank during both that and the driving away. Which is weird because his face is usually so expressive you can tell what he’s feeling even with the glasses on. He looks more…pensive than sad to me but that Could Just Be Me.

I mean just look at that, lil bastard. That’s totally a hahaha I FOOLED THEM face. Enough said.

The miracle block and Aziraphale's failed Jedi mind trick

Putting aside the totally real possibility that Maggie is a demon (further evidence available upon request), I thought it was weird that Aziraphale’s little jedi mind trick to try and get her to leave/forget about the night didn’t work.

Where else did we see miracles not work? The magic show!

My theory: Someone put a miracle block on the bookshop during the invasion. My addendum theory: It was Maggie

The weird music sting and Mrs. Chen

Furfur did mention that he could muster up a feel of illease/malcontent, but this moment when Mrs. Chen is heading in and we get that little music sting feels very weird. It’s such a noticeable/long cut that it just feels like it’s gotta be something more.

And it’s a very similar music sting as when the Metatron gives Crowley his lil evil snarl face My theory: I don’t even have one, but there’s something there.

Crowley not remembering people/the thing about not seeing their faces

Okay this one kinda gets a little iffy but stick with me for a second. Twice in the show we see Crowley not remembering someone (first, Furfur and then Saraqael). Now, someone asked Neil Gaiman about this and iirc his answer was something along the lines of ‘who says Crowley sees people’s faces?’

So, from that answer (if we can trust anything he says XD), we can gather that Crowley recognizes people based more on their aura/soul than their physical features.

Now then, this is an interesting thing to keep in mind when you see his reaction to new Beelzebub and Jim.

When he sees Beelzebub, he does immediately recognize a difference. But it’s important to note here: Beelzebub mentions they’ve had that face for ages. Remember this.

When he sees Jim, he recognizes him as Gabriel, even though we could suspect/assume that his aura/soul looks different since losing his memories and angel powers.

But what’s the real kicker, is that Crowley recognizes the Metatron off the fucking bat when none of the feckin’ angels do, despite probably having seen his giant floating head during the trial.!!!! AND let’s not forget the the Metatron instantly recognizes him as a demon and calls him as such when the rest of the season has shown multiple times that angels can’t immediately recognize demons (at least not on Earth)

Now, we can chock it up to, well yes Crowley would recognize their faces since he’s interacted with them more/more recently, but we should also keep in mind a very useful/common storytelling tactic: which is to make something important seem unimportant by playing it off as a joke.

A prime example is Jim and the fly. He tries to sway them with books, and makes a joke about gravity. But the fly did play an important role. The jokes distracted from the importance.

And both scenes of Furfur and Saraqael are played a bit as a joke from their reactions.

My theory: Crowley is suffering some kind of memory loss from the great war.

Addendum/Alternate theory: Some/Most demons got themselves new faces when they fell, and the face Beelzebub has now was their old angel one.

Gabriel and the Institutional Problem

I know the Scamazon subtitles were wrong BUT I WAS SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS AS A THEORY WHEN I FIRST WATCHED THAT I WANNA SHARE IT ANYWAY

When Jim is talking about what he remembers, he says “if it happens again, It can make it seem like an institutional problem.” But the og bad subtitles had him saying “if it happens again, *I* can make it seem like an institutional problem.” If the subtitles *were* correct it would put a pretty big disconnect between what the Metatron said in the trial and what Jim/Gabriel thought or said.

My now sadly discounted Theory: Gabriel was purposefully trying to expose the issues in heaven/lead to some kind of shenanigans that would shut down further apocalypse attempts. Crackpot Addendum: he was instructed to do so by God. ((And yes, if you're wondering, I did come back on Tumblr after like, 3 years of being gone just to post this nonsense thank you and goodnight!))

i was thinking in the shower about how things would have turned out had Bentley managed to break into the Cooper Vault without needing to recruit anyone. for starters, there wouldn't be a Sly 3 lol... i mean Sly and Bentley would definitely have gone after Murray so An Opera of Fear and Rumble Down Under would have happened i guess but for the sake of the post let's say they wouldn't have asked the Guru to join the gang. so no Netherlands and no China meaning no Penelope and no Panda King, and by extent no Dimitri because of no deal in Netherlands.

removing Sly 3's secondary characters kinda puts things into perspective in terms of character development. in Sly 1 we collected Thievius Racconus pages as we got closer to the truth and Sly learned new tricks and honed his skills in preparation for his encounter with Clockwerk. Sly 2 was just a traumatic trainwreck altogether like SP really put the gang through the wringer idk how they survived.

in Sly 3 this development is brought about through the secondary characters and their relationships with the protagonists. Penelope drives a wedge between Sly and Bentley forcing the latter to muster up the courage and step outside of Sly's shadow for a minute; Panda King's return demands Sly to mature and let go of the past; Dimitri tests the gang's patience; both Penelope and Panda King contribute to the Murray van storyline which kinda exhibited that yea! in the long run, Murray might be the dummy of the group as Dr Michael chastises at the end but he is definitely the heart of the gang.

but if all this never happened then how would Honour Among Thieves play out? funny thing is, even if they recruited the extended gang, shit hit the fan almost immediately upon arrival so i'm assuming the same would apply if the original trio had tried to pull it off on their own? no? as a sidenote: i'm also thinking that Sly 2 is the only game in the series that kinda had like the aspect of urgency if you think about it. someone stole the Clockwerk parts and they were going to rebuild him so tick tock bitch. Sly 1 and 3 however don't really have that sense of time pressure. the Fiendish Five were sitting on their asses for literally a decade before Sly popped up for the pages and don't even get me started on the possibility of Dr Michael managing to crack the Cooper Vault open like what a loser lmao. with this in mind, Bentley would have the time to develop his tech in order to do the tasks that the extended gang members would have done. i mean if he managed to build a time machine surely he could make his tech waterproof ?

so the entire heist goes according to plan with the possibility of them tripping that stupid alarm still at play. i never intended to do a full play by play "what if...?" of Honour Among Thieves but suffice to say Carmelita would 100% show up to save the day even with the change of context. i think the most important change would be that Bentley's run-in with Dr Michael would go down very differently. i don't think he'd defend Sly; i actually think Dr Michael would get to him even without Penelope's introduction because she only brought out feelings that were brewing deep in Bentley's subconscious (especially after the end of Sly 2, becoming disabled for a cause that was never his and that dedication arguably never being reciprocated). he might not have shown it in the moment but i think that conversation would significantly shape Bentley's character and if Sly got out of the episode unscathed, the gang would probably split. leaving the Guru behind would also give Murray the motive to go his own way.

it's clear that Sly 3's secondary characters helped the gang get over some unspoken issues they had between them, even if they got resolved behind each other's backs (because Bentley only vents to Penelope about his feelings and doesn't go straight to Sly, who, in turn, doesn't even know there's an issue to begin with). personally, and i feel kinda stupid for suggesting something so simplistic in relation to how this game would be better like 7-8 years after being on this godforsaken website and analysing it to the point where it feels like the bible, i feel like one more episode would help really flesh out the problems the gang had. we never get direct acknowledgment or accountability from Sly and it feels like he's too focused on entering the Vault to care about Bentley's feelings, or anyone else's for that matter (there's like 7 anon asks gathering dust in my inbox about why i have anti-Sly sentiment and that number better not go up). all it takes is a 'you know what guys? you should enter the vault with me after literally sticking by me since childhood and risking your lives fighting my own battles' and they shoot up the van like it's a guest on Wendy.

Sly 2's ending proved that the protagonists aren't Riverdale characters who just go through weekly life-threatening events without any guilt, trauma and anxiety; and then in Sly 3 we get high-stake situations akin to the ClockLa saga, like the Dragon snatching Penelope, but because it's crammed between episodes instead of games, the characters come out of it seemingly unfazed. the complete lack of recognition for all of this makes it seem like Sly is an awful leader for the gang. like i think Penelope would genuinely snap when she got taken hostage by LeFwee after the dragon thing.

i think the internal politics of the gang could have been explored way better but i understand that juggling that and the introduction of one new character per episode would be impossible. i'd love to see Bentley confronting Sly, Murray realising that he's getting more support about what matters to him (the van, the Guru's wellbeing) from the literal strangers they've recruited than his best friends, Sly realising that his lack of involvement in the gang's friendship is what turned Dr Michael against ConnEr. maybe Honour Among Thieves could have been a two-parter honestly. maybe the Dimitri Dr Michael piranha hybrid bossfight should have never made the cut.

And finally, is there any particular reason saffron William wants mike to be his successor? Im pretty intrigued by it specially with the new post talking about mike learning how to “make friends”, since it seems those expectations were placed very early on

ahh,, the thing about their ages is, in my head, saffron mike and evan are like 7-8 years apart. But I don't want the Bite to happen when Evan is any younger than 8 (but would prefer that it happened on his 9th birthday), or when Mike is any older than 14, which would put their max age difference at 5-6 years apart. So technically they're 5-6 years apart but i kinda think of them as being a bit further than that, if that makes sense. Idk, it's weird.

During the Bite, Will would be mid 40s, and Liz would be... well, I've never thought about it bc she's just not a part of the au. Maybe she'd be around 11 at the time of the Bite if she were still alive?

Saffron Will wants Mike to be his successor because, like all my Mike-Will dynamics, Mike is William's favorite child and William is obsessed with Michael. Partly just because Michael is the eldest son, and american/european tendency is to place a lot of importance on the oldest son in a family (ie eldest sons inherit family companies and royal thrones, they pass on their father's legacy etc etc). But William is also a very conceited and self-absorbed person; he LOVES that Michael looks just like him (and William also hates it, because Wiliam is self-absorbed yet also has self-loathing from his own abusive father figure). And then, when Mike starts acting out due to trauma from his mother's death, little sister's disappearance, Charlie's death, and William's abuse, part of William sees Mike lashing out and hurting others and is pleased because it reminds Will of himself. His eldest son being just like him and passing on his legacy not just in an "inheriting the family business way" but by ACTUALLY BEING a William 2.0 in appearance and personality is perfect in Will's eyes, and he's obsessed with making it happen.

Because William has his hopes set on Mike being just like him, William has higher standards for how Mike is meant to act, exist, and present himself than he does for Ev and Liz. These "high standards" are ofc impossible to live up to, so Mike ends up facing more abuse than his younger siblings.

This abuse, combined with the factors listed above, cause Mike to lash out and hurt others, as seen in fnaf 4 in his treatment of Evan. William is pleased that Mike is like him in his enjoyment of taking out his feelings on others, but it also bothers William that, unlike him, Michael has not learned how to control himself and only hurt others when there will be no chance of being caught. To William, being able to act Normal in public (being the loving, caring co-founder of Fazbear Ent who can DEFINITELY be trusted around children; William Afton is a family man!) so you can get away with acting on your worst desires is very important. It bothers William that Mike hasn't learned how to do this. Especially because Mike acting so uncivilized and problematic in public spoils William's family-man image and makes it seem like he can't control Mike. So William never really punishes Mike for lashing out and hurting others; he only does it when Mike acts out in public, or when Mike is distracting William from his work at home. Will doesn't want to deter Mike from lashing out at people, just make him control himself and look presentable in public like William does.

Then the Bite happens. Part of William is annoyed about what happened. He views Evan as his property more than his child, and he is annoyed at the idea of someone else taking/damaging his property without his consent. Will is also worried about his reputation: he looks like he can't control Mike, and god knows this is gonna have a bad impact on his company's reputation, too. But this annoyance is overshadowed by William's sudden desperate hope that maybe Mike is even MORE like him than he thought! And it's overshadowed by the realization that he doesn't just want Mike to be "like him" (child murderer), but that William doesn't want to be ALONE in this anymore. William has felt broken and alone and isolated for so long, and Mike almost killing Evan makes Will realize that he doesn't just want Mike to be like him for kicks or to continue on his legacy, but because William wants proof that he's not broken or alone, because Mike is just like him, too.

So Will starts watching Mike closely, and when Will realizes that Mike didn't ENJOY almost killing Evan like Will enjoys hurting kids... Will feels betrayed, like there was a life raft right there and Mike kicked it away and left William to drown. Will is angry and lost and he punishes Mike for not enjoying it, for not being more like William.

Then Evan wakes up from the Bite and gets put back into the Afton household. By this point, the combined brain damage and PTSD has really messed Evan up. Evan is terrified of Michael. When Mike gets near, Evan loses control of himself; he kicks, screams, bites, scratches, throwing anything nearby (and i mean anything-- pillows, books, remotes, scissors, lamps, glass cups, anything) at Mike because he's scared Mike is going to hurt or try to kill him again.

William is intrigued because he's naturally fascinated by fear, and he has NEVER seen Ev act like this before. It's completely unlike him. So Will starts experimenting, seeing how far he can push Evan. He tries taking Ev's involuntary PTSD response and turning it into a conscious hatred of Mike and the conscious desire to see Mike hurt.

Through it, part of him hopes that if he pushes Evan enough, then Ev will lash out so badly at Mike that Mike will snap and hurt/kill Evan, thus proving once and for all that Mike really is just like Will. But Mike doesn't. Sometimes Mike will get in places where he's so hopeless and sick of Ev hurting him that Mike will yell or try to hit Evan, like slapping Evan's hand when Ev tries to scratch or throw something, but for the most part, Mike is so haunted by guilt and self-hatred and the fear of hurting Ev again that he becomes passive. He lets Ev hurt him sometimes, but mostly Mike just tries staying away to stop from stressing Ev out so much.

Eventually, William decides to manipulate Evan into being a killer like his father. William doesn't actually care about or want Evan, but Will wants to use Evan to prove to himself that he CAN turn Mike like him, too, and to experiment on Ev to find the best way to force Mike into being like him. Mike just ends up running away before William can do so.

mag 101 - another twist

what if i admitted that i don't really care that much about michael? what then? i know a lot of people really like him, and that's fine and all, but her never quite managed to really capture me. i really like how he speaks of the distortion as an entity - he does a great job in introducing its paradoxical nature and what it's all really about. i was just never that interested in him

that said, this is still a really great episode, and i especially appreciate what it says about gertrude's character. she does so many horrible things, but the question is whether those actions can be justified when she believes not doing them would cause greater suffering. and honestly, i'd say yes. she might not be a good person, but she doesn't have to be. when examining gertrude's character, people rarely remember that she has been forced into and stuck in this role for pretty much her entire adult life, she has been put in a position for decades where she literally cannot choose to step back because that would not only mean her demise but also, according to what she's been led to believe, the demise of the whole world. and that doesn't make what she does to michael (or anyone in her vecinity tbh) okay or good, but it's the best thing she could've done

a recurring motif through the show is choices. specifically, bad choices you take when put between a rock and a hard place. something really interesting jon does here, is choosing how he'd prefer to die. he just sort of submits to it, accepting his fate and choosing what he's told is less painful. and, idk, i don't have a way to express it, but that feels important, both thematically and for his character

finally, we have helen! i adore helen, i think she's great. she is an antagonist that is just so very likable but when her demise comes i can't help but agree that it was necessary. she manages to charm the audience as much as the character. early distortion helen, though, is completely different. she's more solemn, she does not know who or what she is, and helen richardson is still there, somewhere, conflicting with the distortion, and we slowly see her fade away

F1 Fic Recs '22 pt.II

Five months have past since my last fic rec drop and it was damn time I made another one 'cause some great stuff has been posted so here you have the 10 best fics I've read in a while!

I'm totally obsessed with soulmates AU and this one in particular is beautifully built up, because Lewis and Seb meet in the middle of the mountains and even though you think everything will be predictable... It's not! The story keeps you intrigued till the very last word and it's totally fluffy and sexy and worth of everybody's time.

okay idk how to start describing this fic... I was surprised I haven't recommended it before since it's one of the most well writen orgies in the f1 fandom. It's writen from different perspectives so that you don't miss a single second of what's going on around the place, and the thing I like the most about this one is that it's not just sex between drivers. It's something that (for being what it is, the developing of a three way relationship) doesn't weird you out, not even for a moment.

Or how Max tricks Charles into speaking filthy for him but ends up well... even filthier. As someone who adores to read Charles topping during sex this was delightful to read, it was also funny and the dynamic between them is just perfect.

Or the fic that made me fall in love with this pairing! It has all the ingredients honestly... shyness, pride, virginal thoughts, dirty thoughts, Daniel being a sweetheart and Michael being the boyfriend we all wish we had. Simply lovely.

ahhjhfjfg this is basically Antonio living the nanny's dream when he gets the job of daycare in the Raikkonen's house and both parents of the kids fall for him and try to get to him in the corniest ways possible. If you don't like the pairing then you can still read it for the vibes because the dynamic in the house and the interactions have no waste.

I'm kinda glad they broke my heart ('cause now it's yours) by TheWiseOne12 (Sewis/Charlando)

Or a Cottage fic AU where a pregnant Lando runs from his past to a small town far away and ends up renting in the sewis property. Soon, he meets Charles who used to rent there as well and even though Lando holds a lot of secrets Charles Seb and Lewis slowly make their way to Lando's heart and it's so beautiful it makes you cry ugh. My Headcannon ages for WN characters:

Placing under a cut because it's long!

Ava: 19 (of course stated in the show)

Sister Beatrice: 21-23.

We know from s1 that she went to a swiss boarding school. Form the sounds of that conversation w/ Duretti, Bea maybe a few years removed from that school. I imagine her as someone that was either going to be pre-med or, some sort of scientist. Mainly due to her knowing Latin and, her grasp of advanced science (see any of her times in various labs). I think these would be suitable careers to parents that are concerned about perception.

Sister Camila: 20 or 21

She mentioned to Todd that she was 15 when she joined the church. I'm giving her some time to be recruited or trained then, her first true mission is in s1e1.

Lilith: 23-25

I think she and Mary have been in OCS the longest. I think she is the oldest Sister Warrior because I relate to her. I feel like she's at that stage where you are trying to avoid turning into your parents or their expectations of you; while you're navigating your understanding of yourself and your responsibilities. As someone pushing 30, I relate to that. I'm the most open to being wrong about her though.

Shotgun Mary: 22-24

I'm putting her around the same age as Beatrice. Maybe a year older. She gives off strong older sister vibes (to me anyway). Her timeline pre-OCS is not clear so, it makes it hard.

Father Vincent: Late 40's

Not much driving this. I think he was with the Cartels in his 20's. Stared drinking heavily around 14 yrs ago, and caused the Car Accident ™ during that time. I'm also saying that he has been w/ OCS for close to 10 yrs.

Mother Superion: Younger than we think

idk I just think it's a fun concept. It'd be cool if she was closer in age to the other sister warriors then you would think.

Dr. Jillian Slavius: Early to Mid 40's

She is very smart and thus I think started Arq-Tech young. I feel like she pursued motherhood for as long as she could and, in as many ways as possible. My headcannon for her is that carrying a baby was really important to her.

Miguel/Michael: 21

Guessing he was about 7-10, when he went in the portal. He said it was about 14 to 15 yeas on the other side. So I'm taking the lower on both of those options.

my wbg sort of ranch/ western au (actually a my friend flicka au but you wouldn’t understand it’s too niche)

characters: Matt, MW, Michael, Sly, Ty (not really but yeah)

paring: Matt x MW, Michael x Sly

status: taking over every thought I’ve ever had

for this au and for reasons Michael, Ty and Matt are brothers (bear with me pls also I thought about them being like adopted brother but you know)

for other reasons their parents are dead (the reason being I didn’t want to create OCs plus parents are kinda useless for this au anyway)

they all grew up on a ranch and Michael took over it once their parents died together with his husband Sly

Ty is out in the city as some famous scientist (idk like I said he’s not that important for the story, he’s only here to show how great Matt’s brothers are)

but now to Matt (and how, unfortunately, I nerved him)

as a child he was weak and often sick and it dragged on all the way through adulthood

he had to give up his studies and dream to become a vet and moved back in with Michael

in my mind Matt actually finished his degree but since he’s always sick he couldn’t take care of himself thus resulting in him not being able to get a job etc.

anyway, one summer Michael hired a cowboy (or multiple but only one is really important for this) to help him and Sly to round up the young horses and break them in

in comes the great romance (kidding I wouldn’t be me if there wasn’t slow burn and longing)

so Matt and MW actually don’t have a great start I haven’t thought of a reason yet but they just hit it off wrong and I think it’s MW fault

so Matt actually spends the summer watching his brother and literally anyone else go out in the sun, riding and having fun, while he is stuck in the house

I think Matt’s fav spot would be behind the house where there is a secluded area where he likes to read

and when the young horses come in he spends time near the paddock and watches the others but always feels left out and leaves

actually this is pretty angsty in my mind but what if Matt wants to join them but Micheal forbids him out of fear that he could hurt himself

angst with happy ending is also one of my fav tropes if you couldn’t tell 🫡

anyway Matt and MW do get closer through family dinners and MW desperate attempts to mended the damage he caused on his very first day

and let’s just say it slowly works

so in his free time MW spends time with Matt and gets to know him better, obviously he’s curious why Matt is being so sheltered and kept save from literally everything

he starts to understand when Matt doesn’t come down for breakfast one morning and Michael explains that he has a migraine and people shouldn’t bother Matt

MW doesn’t listen (why would he 🙄) and sneaks up into Matt’s room in the evening

where Matt is suffering™️

(yes hurt/comfort is one of my fav tropes as well)

anyway MW stays with Matt and comforts him -> massages his head, brings him a wet and cold cloth etc.

after that MW looks out for Matt far more often and handles him with more care

which bothers Matt bc MW had previously been the only person who didn’t behave differently around him and not only saw the sick boy he was

so he snaps and calls MW out on his bullshit (in my mind Matt is snapping his fingers and all lmao // I really need to stay serious)

Idk eventually Matt asks Michael if he can help break in the yearlings but Micheal denies and Matt gets frustrated and upset bc he’s never allowed to do anything and he’s just rotting away while being wrapped in blankets

so MW takes it upon himself and takes Matt out with him to the fields and watch the the herd (and maybe he is showing off a bit but y’know)

there they actually find a yearling that was left behind due to an injury

and Matt is all “we need to bring it back to the ranch I can help it”

you just know MW can’t say no even if the smarter solution would have been to shoot the horse

so they kinda snuck the horse in and Matt blossoms under the opportunity to finally show what he is capable of and do the things he loves and maybe, just maybe MW loses his heart just a little bit at the sight of it

(this is getting longer than I expected omg I’m so sorry)

anyway just a few scenes I think would be cute:

like Matt and MW doing the dishes and Matt says something that ends with “… right, MW?” and he answers with “Just call me Mike.” screaming crying also the light making everything soft and Matt smiling and saying “okay, Mike”

also this would take place before most of this but MW teasing Matt for always reading his books and studying and Matt saying “I’ve got nothing else, so what would be left of me if I didn’t continue studying, if I didn’t continue to learn? I would just rot away in this house with no dreams and perspectives.”

first kiss, actually haven’t thought about it much bc I always think about the angsty part of a story first lmao

but honestly I think it would happen in a chain of events, like Matt taking care of the yearling, MW leaning against the box and they are talking and then Matt passes him and MW holds him by the wrist and,,,,,,, kiss

honestly idk maybe that could also just be a cheep moment later on idk

anyway now to the angst:

Michael actually finds out and his overprotective older brother sirens all go off

what follows is Michaell throwing MW from the ranch and Matt gets house arrest to which he says “so nothings changing for me, you’ve already kept me as a prisoner for all my life.”

so Matt sneaks out of the house and he sorta steals a horse (can you really call it that when it’s your brothers and you live on the ranch too?) and goes after MW

incomes a storm, the stakes run high, Matt has a accident, MW finds him in the storm and brings him back to the ranch

Matt is delusional and sick for the following week and when he’s back to his normal self something has shifted

so while Michael and MW have worked their differences out (mainly just sitting together on the porch staring in the distance you know how that goes)

Matt has also come to a conclusion; that he can’t hide away and waist all of his life

so to conclude this absolute monster of a post MW and Matt get together again, Micheal wishes them their best regards and Matt starts to work on the ranch and looks after the horses as a vet (it’s a compromise bc Michael can’t let his baby brother go just yet but they are working on it just wait and see) and also yeah MW works at the ranch again too

rewatching season 1 and its confirming my bi mike truth. for real.

• he goes out of his way for her

•he speaks to her with the same Will Voice™️ in a lot of the scenes.

• he tried to kiss her unprompted in the bathroom. (she has literally no idea what he’s doing)

• when he says she’s pretty especially the second time, he really means it. I read his confused face more as I can’t believe I said that kind of thing and not a ew gross kind of thing

•his speech at the end is definitely him trying and failing to say that he likes her romantically (as romantic as a 12 year old romance can be anyway)

Now, she’s very androgynous and sure that can he explained as he prefers her when she looks like a boy (like Will), but that’s a moot point in my opinion cause bi people have very differing tastes usually when it comes to different genders. (Something he would be totally unaware of at that age and also is something that evolves/changes)

I think watching season one and two combined has really confirmed this for me. Season 1 is El and his feelings for her. Season 2 switches to Will and his feelings for him. Season 3 is when they are all finally thrown together and how he can’t balance them in his life because the feelings for both are romantic. (I don’t think he’s self-aware enough there to realize that though in regards to Will). I think that there is a lot of what actors’ and creators’ have said going on there. Mike is trying to be this picture in his head of what “normal” looks like.

Then season 4 imo is the fallout of that struggle (which i also think continues in a more adult/direct way but it sort of is really putting even more pressure on both of his relationships). He’s a bit older and the two most important people in his life are thousands of miles away. Like he said himself, “his other friends are great, but they aren’t Will). I think that hug scene was the culmination of him realizing how much he’s missed Will isn’t “normal”. I think he’s realizing that those feelings are equal (or imo overpower) what he feels for El. I think maybe, painfully slowly, he’s realizing that he’s attracted/wants to be with Will in a way that isn’t “normal”. I don’t think he’s thinking romance per se (yet), but I think he’s thinking “why the hell am i jealous?” “why is it weird to touch him?” “why am i so upset he never called me?” why do i want that painting so badly?” “why can’t i tell my girlfriend i thought i loved the three words she begged me to say?” To me, that is a very queer experience, but specifically a bi person who hasn’t quite realized that they’re bi yet. The confusion can be astounding at times, and emotions and reactions to things tend to be intense in a way that leaves you reeling. Or floundering in Mike’s case.

Idk these are just a lot of random thoughts, but I firmly believe that season 5 will address whatever is happening in Mike Wheeler’s brain regarding his true feelings for Will and El.

I also think that El already had an inkling of “why” Mike couldn’t say I love you. (And no it’s not because his parents didn’t show him how 🙄) And she’s slowly realizing in season 4 that “why” is her step-brother. I think that was made very obvious with the thought bubble imagery and how she was responding, or lack thereof to Mike in the monologue and back in Hawkins.

Miscellaneous thoughts about season 1: people must be thick in the head about Will if they think him being gay came out of nowhere. There are at least 10 instances of characters referencing that in conversations. And damn, if that Ted Wheeler comment, “you see Michael, you see what happens” wasn’t insinuating something. Mike misses it cause he’s too little, but any adult can see he’s saying, “you see what happens to queer kids?”

Then season 2 they spent the whole season building up how different and strong Mike and Will’s relationship was, and how Mike was there for Will no matter what. He was so unwavering in his love and support for Will. And in season 3, I think is when Will actively realized just how different he was and what his love for Mike actually meant, like he was looking it dead in the face in that season in a real, grown up way. And the person he realizes he loves is pushing him away and just not understanding him and what do you do when the person, that you’ve been told your whole life is unnatural, not “normal” to love, is constantly choosing another person over you. That they aren’t even able to make a friendship work let alone something you might daydream about. I’m probably repeating myself but the writers have made it very plain that Mike cannot for the life of him balance his time, attention or emotional availability between Will and El. And if season 3 didn’t make it painfully obvious that Will was having complicated feelings about Mike. Like yeah, they didn’t spell it out directly, but the fact that some people were like wow this whole Mike love thing for Will came out of nowhere??? Like are we watching the same show? I could see that on a first watch years ago.

ok I have a Stranger Things theory...

(very long)

so has anyone heard of ley lines? they are real things but also are common in sci-fi (which ST is sci-fi). do yall think maybe they could be what those splits in Hawkins are representing?

I'm going to provide some information about them and maybe some theories that could be built off of them.

let's start off with what they are irl. they are lines that crisscross the globe like latitude and longitude lines. (remember the map and Suzie giving them the cordinents, they followed the latitude and longitude to find Nina where the X is...where El was...and now there's a big X in Hawkins...could be nothing or could have been directly trying to tell us something who knows)

"along these lines there's concentrated energy that can be harnessed by certain individuals" (now if these are ley lines this could be something interesting that could be incorporated into s5)

"there is a straight line that connect seven different landforms that bear the name Michael, or some form of it"

this could indicate that Michael is an important part in s5, he is the heart after all. but also 7...funny.

"many people have drawn their own ley lines to prove just how coincidental they can be, connecting everything from pizza restaurants to movie theaters to churches on maps"

I just thought this was interesting since in s4 we see all these things or they are at least mentioned.

"ley lines can be found anywhere. possible points include castles (or even places with castle in the place name)"

I feel like the location is important, it meets at the library...isn't that where they found Will?

I just found it interesting they used grandfather clocks specifically, a pendulum in them. 4 chimes, 4 gates, 4 lines

"now ley lines are hypothetical alignments between places of power, which can be magical, magnetic, or psychic in nature. these places of power are where two or more ley lines cross and are often known as ley nodes, nodes, or nexuses. mages can tap into them to gain their powers. places where multiple lines intersect at nodes attract wizards and other supernatural beings like moths to a flame"

do i even need to explain?

"where ley lines supposedly crossed, a strong power spot was created. these nodes could produce an energy vortex. ley lines or the random lines of natural energy that make up earths electromagnetic field"

that would explain why the electromagnetic field was disrupted

how negative energy vortex are created:

"Untimly death- case of an accidental, untimely, or unhappy death, a negative energy vortex gets created in that location."

literally how the gates were created in s4.

effects of negative energy vortex:

feeling completely drained with lack of energy, uneasiness, aches in the nervous zones that are the head, neck, and back. hightened negative emotions Anger, Anxiety, Stress, Hatred, Fear, Insecurity & Jealousy.

if these really are whats going on then what if they aren't just fighting real monsters but monsters of their minds, their emotions (or maybe thats what the monsters have always been idk just turned physical idk). MONSTERS OF THEIR OWN MIND. this not only would fall perfectly into play for coming of age since that's just what happens around that age especially with puberty(the kids ages) but a lot of people are theorizing that they recorded parts of s5 already due to some people at table reads that didn't show in s4 also Noah in his final outfit but at the rollerrink.

id be interesting to see these emotions coming to light in s5 and it would definitely add to the conflict

negative energy vortexes can also cause nightmares and depression...

effects energy vortex portals:

Dark/ Evil Energies – these are energies that are extremely bad which pollute/corrupt the environment with high amounts of negativity.

Negative Spirits/ Bewitchment- in extreme cases spirits can possess someone. Such a person slowly starts losing control over his/her own intellect and starts acting as per the desires of the spirit within. Once possessed it is very difficult to break free from the clutches of the possessed spirit and it generally requires a lot of counter rituals to be performed. Such a scenario is very taxing on both the person as well as their family members.

Animal Entities – Another way a portal can be used is to send Negative Animal Entities. These entities are the lowest/worst form of negative energies sent to cause powerful psychic attacks upon their target. Once attacked by an animal entity a person may feel extreme energy drainage, sharp pain in the body (mostly it is the nervous regions like head, neck, and back), temporary paralysis, sudden accidents, and in case of an extremely powerful attack it could also result in bleeding from the nose or other such body parts.

these lines were probably always there just the upsidedown hadn't come through yet. Vecna can see into the future it seems so he probably planned where the attacks should happen and where the gates should form, probably those places for a specific reason. maybe we can dig into that and see whats significant about the places, if anything is at all. thatd be cool, ill try to look into it.

dogs are attracted to positive energy vortexs.

maybe there could be a positive energy vortex at the Byers, specifically castle Byers hence the castle part mentioned earlier (the dog barking) that could be how Will stayed safe bc of a positive energy vortex

Negative vortexes spiral downward in a counterclockwise motion and create a draining or depleting energy. Cats tend to be attracted to them.

"An Energy Vortex is a strong electromagnetic mass of energy that is constantly in flux, rotating inwards in an anticlockwise or clockwise motion. This energy vortex is invisible to the naked eye (unless the person is a clairvoyant), but most people can sense these energies in the form of positive or negative vibes, feelings, emotions, or mere tingling sensations."

clairvoyant...true sight...also in s2 the mindflayer also seems to create a vortex and trapping Will inside as it goes into him could be relevant. also this could be a cool way to incorporate Max in s5, ik they said she's brain dead but they could be lying who knows. make her clairvoyant, make her see things then use morse code to tap hints to the others.

to close a negative portal: negative portals spin counterclockwise. To close them, first locate the center of the portal then invoke the prayer to Archangel Michael, then spin the Violet Flame/Amethyst crystal clockwise into the portal

could El maybe have to go into the upsidedown to close it for good? bc the upsidedown is in the past so you have to bring it clockwise like bringing it to the present? El restarted Maxs heart maybe something to do with that? idk just ideas

we learned El likes purple in s4. again Michael is mentioned but oh just wait you're about to have your mind blown.

Archangel Michael very specifically has a sword AND FIGHTS A RED DRAGON WITH HIS ANGLES

DRAGON PATHS (IN CHINA)

Chinese scholars have long been aware of the existence of the lung-mei, or dragon paths. Everyone experiences these energetic places differently and some people can be more sensitive than others. These locations tend to magnify the energy or beliefs that are out of alignment with your natural self so that you can face them and become more aligned with your true self.

what if thats something they have to do in s5? face their true selves. that was also hinted with the neverending story, the magic mirror. just a thought.

Lung mei or the paths of the Dragon are lines of energy discovered by the ancient Chinese. The Heart of the Dragon is said to be found at a knoll (small hill) standing in a small valley among the hills. From this center heart, the veins of the Dragon current run over the surrounding valleys and hills. Near the Dragons heart, the force is strong and active. This is where the Dragon (painting) and the Tiger (school mascot, Will has them in his room), or the feminine and masculine currents merge harmoniously together.

the heart of the dragon...would the the center where the split is right? they couldn't enter there bc the force would be strong and active. could they maybe in s5 have to go into the upsidedown as groups at each gate and each face a different thing like the gates in the neverending story. they will have to find there way to the heart of the dragon (the heart of the upsidedown) to destroy whatever is there. which is why their hearts are important, like Will says Mikes the heart, Mike is his heart. hearts can represent love, love will probably be how they defeat Vecna. could that also be why El lost? bc the couples, the loves weren't intact? a lot had problems this season, but also self love was lacking too. El for example viewing herself as a monster. when she looked to Max the vines loosened, Max never treated her as different or looked at her as a monster which is why she could free herself and hurt Vecna. love increased and was able to hurt the hate. now I know this will make milevens mad but I think bylers going to be together, Mike is Wills heart. Els heart is everyone which could be why she went to the front while everyone was behind her, she will need their love to defeat Vecna but that will require the other relationships to be in good places, so thats probably why they are separated off into groups. all different aspects of love will be involved not just romantic, things like self love, friendship, family etc.

also wasn't the library where Will was found when he had those things in him, like they were killing him and draining the life from him. so maybe thats why its important, could be a source which is why I'd be part of a heart maybe.

everyone fighting vecna&the upsidedown??

this might be a reach but "you can fly" and "you have to fly" is what El is told, dragon's fly. I don't think they are fighting El, they could but I dobut it. but notice its feminine and masculine energy that merge harmoniously. if Els like a dragon and Wills like a tiger maybe that could mean they defeat Vecna together. let me have this please I love their sibling dynamic so much give me more of that in s5.

theres also this thing called The Crystal Vortex. its a vehicle, a gateway to be transcended, through the setting of your intentions and can be programmed for healing, manifestation, Soul journeys, accessing past lives, astral travel, attending Mystery Schools, connection with your Spirit Guides, Angels, Highest Self and all divine beings of light, love and ascension available to you. The Crystal Vortex was named and created by Spirit, from the realms of the Seraphim, Archangels and Ascended Masters.

this may not be relevant idk but it mentions Crystals and Archangels so I thought I should include it

thats all for this individual theory, oh also Watkins (the person who suggest the existence of ley lines) sounds very similar to Hawkins. and William Henry Black may have inspired it...It could all just be a coincidence but then again maybe its not.

Just some random thoughts I'd like to get your opinion on, but I really wish there had been more of a discussion between Britin before they got engaged. It kind of seemed to me like the proposal was supposed to sweep all of their problems under the rug, but I feel like they really needed to talk more after the fallout from 5x07. I know they're not really the type to have those long talks but idk, I still wish it'd happened +

because I got so much emotional whiplash from the whole syphilis fiasco, Justin walking out on Brian for the second time, then they get engaged, then they end the engagement, then Justin leaves for NYC...whew.

Okay.. deep breath this will probably get long.. help!

I totally agree I've always felt that they never had 'the big relationship talk' that was really warranted after 5x11 and Justin agreeing to marry Brian. We saw them go through their multiple breakups, their differences over the kind of life/relationship they wanted to live, their lack of communication so in turn we needed to see them talking about how they had learnt from all this and who they would be as a partnership going forward especially into marriage. Similar to the talks we got in 2x06 when they set the rules and in 3x08 when they reunited in the office. They did address the cause of their breakups then in a very britin way which I would've liked once more.

But I think the writers just wanted to get to the big 'omg they're finally gonna be together' moment with the proposal which technically was them getting back together and engaged at the same time lol and skipped the rest. I'm just going to bullet point my thoughts on what gave me whiplash because I'm a rambling mess, hope it makes sense!

Justin's switch from being okay and fully into the open side of their relationship to being upset/annoyed over Brian's lifestyle choices did confuse and annoy me. Because of how quickly they had him flip between the two and where he stood. In season four before the cancer arc begins we have Justin joking about how many guys are hitting on him at the gym, competing in the bet to hook up with the guy who turns out to be a doctor. He's fully into it and has no issues about it affecting them. But the start of season five and his return from LA has him suddenly wanting to be just like Michael and Ben with a white picket fence and 2.4 children.

The conclusion of the Liberty Ride episodes has Brian post cancer where he's revaluated what's important to him. He wants to be a better father to Gus and in a rare moment of vulnerability he tells Justin he wants him to move back in and that when he's not around he misses him. The growth from 1x10 and "this place is only big enough for one person and that's me" to "I'd like it if you and I were to live together" is huge. Cue season five and Brian's sudden retreat back into "eww relationships I hate those and I wanna be the season 1/2 fuckboy again" made my head spin. We left off with him wanting to live with Justin and you know growing into a real boy and starting to transition into the next stage of his life.

That didn't mean he was gonna lose his personality but his attitude towards Justin and his openess suddenly vanishes and he's back to being reckless and closed off. The Brandon bet and syphilis plot just made me wanna slap some sense into him it was all pointless in the end. Because what does he learn - that he loves Justin and him falling back into his old habits and drinking his pain away doesn't work. There will always be a new stud of Liberty Avenue and maybe finally freeing himself from that defining him would let him progress in his life .... WHICH HE KNEW AT THE END OF SEASON FOUR!!!

Justin's disdain at Brian's promiscuity and refusal to settle down was believable in parts because he has always wanted a more settled and family oriented life. From season one Justin was jealous and not fully comfortable with Brian being with other guys and we saw them try with the rules to solve that but it failed. Their reunion in 3x09 we get the deliberate scene with Justin sassing the trick about how he'll only ever have Brian once so it seems he's finally comfortable and cool with it. But nope back on the merry go round we go.....

After Justin agrees to marry Brian we 100% needed them to have a big talk about how things were gonna be different this time. Brian baring his soul and saying ily was amazing and something we had waited for but the aftermath to it was so lacking. Considering it was some pretty major issues that divided them it's just unsatisfying that they swept it all under the rug. Instead we got that awful conversation with Brian flipping out over a cuddle and turning into a stepford husband. And now Justin is all okay with their kinky sex life and is hiring strippers and is upset when Brian doesn't hook up with them??? WHERE WAS THE CONVERSATION ABOUT ALL THIS STUFF?

They just glossed over a lot of issues maybe because of time constraints within the plot and the 13 episodes they had. Also there were multiple plots that were revolving around Brian - his friendship with Michael/Lindsey and Gus leaving/ His life with Justin and his own personal journey. So with all these story arcs involving him needing to be tied up I think they thought is there really a need to get deep with this relationship stuff with britin seeing as we're gonna end up separating them again. Spoiler alert... yes there was..
