An Avatrice moment I’m still stuck on: the pre-battle disagreement about Vincent.
Beatrice knows that Ava is keeping something from her. She’s been having hushed conversations with Michael and sought out Vincent, of all people, for a way to stop Adriel. She won’t say anything about her trip to the other side and Mother Superion says she’s acting like Shannon.
Bea is already so stressed out and hurt, and she’s about to walk into a fight with only half the plan. Then Vincent tries to come along and she’s like, “No.”
Hand up and gun on her hip, she’s not playing games today. She bars his path to the van and to Ava.
“Beatrice.”
All Ava has to do is say her name and the hardened, protective girlfriend mask slips. Bea softens at once – turning towards Ava; sitting back in the chair; blinking rapidly, but unable to make eye contact; taking a deep breath.
“No,” she says again, and it’s so soft and full of pain. Full of the tenderness only reserved for Ava.
Beatrice needs to draw a line in the sand, claw back some measure of control.
Her back straightens as she turns to Vincent again. Mask back on.
“Look, I appreciate that you had an epiphany and your help with Ava –”
(Again, emphasis on Ava with a nod in her direction.)
“—but do not take that to mean you’re in our good graces.”
Fool me once, shame on you. But I’ll take on hell itself before I let you anywhere near her.
I’ve got enough going on already without you stabbing us in the back again.
Vincent is polite enough, saying he knows he has no right to think that.
“We need his help,” Ava says, and Beatrice’s frustration returns.
It again becomes a conversation between them only with Vincent as the awkward, hovering interloper.
“I don’t trust him.”
“Neither do I,” Ava says evenly, “but he knows the cathedral. He can get us in through security.”
It’s a palpable role-reversal as Ava uses Beatrice’s own rule against her: duty before feelings. Don’t let your emotions blind you to the mission.
What a maddening pill to swallow when Beatrice doesn’t even know what the end of this mission will bring.
But she relents because she trusts Ava and that’s all that matters.
A squabbling married couple right ‘til the end.

I had forgotten that moment in 1x04 when Duretti walks into the office to have a word with Vincent and Superion, and both Vincent and Duretti walk to the main chair. Knowing everything we know now, it is very satisfying to watch Vincent being forced to abandon the position of the man in charge. And it's definitely nice to see Superion's development.
Their fight for power takes place in front of Superion who doesn't once believe she's the one who deserves this position, she just stands by, waiting for the men to stop their competition of ego (fighting about who should manage the OCS) and actually do something about their current problem. A lot like at the beginning of S2, when she's waiting for Duretti to give them directions on how to handle Adriel and the FBC, except her frustration has grown and she's considering finding new ways to deal with the OCS because she's done with men putting their thirst for power before the safety of her girls.
And she finds new ways to lead the OCS, takes her position as the person in charge and doing so she differs from Vincent in S1. She doesn't give orders, she meets with her sisters and the scientist who's joined the group and they decide, together, what comes next and how the plan should go. She's the one making the OCS enter a new era, focusing on equality and respect, two things she's not giving in S1 (she's not Duretti's equal in many ways, and Vincent doesn't treat as such either). She takes back what's rightfully hers as her own sense of worth improves with the women surrounding her. Talk about empowerment through relationships!
It wouldn't make any sense for her character and the OCS to find back their old days of functioning after S2. Men driven by power and their own ambition no longer belong in the OCS — they could try getting elected as new Pope, there's probably a cardinal shortage at the moment, they need candidates.

I think I went a little bit insane over the scene where Vincent says “do you remember what you said to me the night we freed you?” and Adriel, without even looking at him, just goes “no”. Holy shit that moment was so fucking good, the fact that Adriel just simply doesn’t remember. The way that we didn’t get to hear the dialogue back in season one, and I was expecting when Vincent asks the question that we were going to get the reveal of what he said. But no. They do something much cleverer with the scene. They reveal that he just doesn’t remember. It was never that important to him. Vincent was never important to him. The being that Vincent betrayed everyone who believed in him and loved him for, just doesn’t care about anyone, unless they further his own agenda. I know Vincent uses Duretti’s death to explain his disillusionment in Adriel to the others, but this, this was the moment Adriel lost Vincent. Such a powerful fucking scene man

[Father Vincent teaching Ava to Drive]
Father Vincent: Okay, so Lilith & Beatrice are crossing the road. What do you hit?
Ava: Definitely Lilith. I could never hurt Beatrice.
Father Vincent: The brakes! Ava, you hit the brakes!
[Bonus: Beatrice teaching Ava to drive]
Beatrice: Are you familiar with the gear shift?
Ava, confidently: You mean the PRNDL?
Beatrice:
Beatrice: The what.
