AXIS HAD TRAINED UP TO THIS POINT. THIS WAS HIS MOMENT. HE HAD TO SAVE THE PEOPLE FROM THE THREAT IN FRONT OF THEM. INSTINCTS KICK IN AND HE GOES IN TO FIGHT THE MONSTER WHILE DALV TAKES KANAKO TO SAFETY.

THIS MONSTER WAS TOUGH. HE WAS ALMOST KILLED. BUT HE HAD TO PERSEVERE.

SOMETHING JUST ACTIVATED IN HIS SOUL.

HE FELT A SURGE OF POWER. THE ONLY THING HE KNEW IN THAT MOMENT WAS TO.

AXIS NOTICES TOO THAT LESS AND LESS SCIENTISTS ARE PRESENT AT STEAMWORKS. UNTIL THERE IS NO ONE THERE.

WHEN ASKED IF HE WAS GOING TO LEAVE

i have a theory about the bear & carmy’s artistic talent and no one else (that ive seen!) seems to be talking abt this. gotta get it out there so if it happens i can say i predicted it

carmy is going to leave the restaurant industry. we see time and time again that carmy is not happy in the industry, and maybe never has been. he’s traumatized by the fancy restaurant he worked at. he wanted to work at the beef, but only to be with mikey. he took over the beef because he (felt he) owed it to michael — and because he had the skills — not out of some great love of cooking. he only got to his level of skill out of a self-professed “fuck you” to mikey! carmy’s not happy. “this shit’s not fun for me,” he says to richie. make no mistake — he’s really, really good at it. but he’s not happy. the industry brings out the worst version of him, every single time. the stress of the kitchen turns him into the bear from the 1x01 opening, into his mother.

contrast this with syd and richie, tina, even marcus. even under stress, even with everyone yelling at each other, the kitchen brings out the best in them. they’ve improved their skill levels because they feel they owe it to themselves. richie thrives under the pressure of being a concierge, he’s a new man, he wears suits now. tina is a transformed person because she’s begun to believe in herself (and knows others believe in her). marcus (although thwarted by his own hyper-focus sometimes) delights in the craft of being a pâtissier, creates spectacular, thoughtful dishes — he flourishes.

and sydney. sydney, under stress, opening night, is throwing up in the bushes, like we know carmy did in a job that was Bad for him. but it’s not the stress of the job per se that’s getting to syd, but the pressure she’s put on herself to do well enough that her dad will see the bear as she sees it — her very own place in the industry she loves above all else, a place to practice her beloved craft, to take care of people, to pour everything she has into this one thing. it’s not the job making her physically sick, like it did carmy, it’s the pressure of showing how much she loves the job, of her dad thinking she’s doing well enough to deserve to love and devote herself to it as much as she is. and in the kitchen, under pressure, with carmy locked in the fridge, syd doesn’t panic, doesn’t yell and scream — not really. she collaborates with richie, delegates as necessary, steps up — and leads. she shines.

carmy as a chef is doing what he’s good at, performing the skills he’s cultivated. it might be the only thing he feels he’s good at. it’s all he’s ever really known. but it’s not healthy. it’s killing him. it’s ruining his relationships with everyone important to him. he needs to get out.

i predict that sydney and richie will take over the bear. probably with nat’s help behind the scenes. they love it. it gives them purpose. it makes them thrive.

and carmy… will go to visual arts school. (or simply become an artist. do people still do art school these days? if so… like… he could do worse than SAIC)

i don’t think the show has been dropping all these references to carmy’s artistic talent for no reason. the pants he designed (thom browne’s!), the drawings of claire they mention and then flash during his panic attack, the speculative drawing of the bear he gifts michael in 2x06, and the menu drawings that sydney gushes over. the painting he hates that’s hung in the restaurant? could you do a better one, carm?? in the future, will that get replaced with one of yours, carm??? his artistic talent is lingered on too much to not be indicating something about what carmy really loves. a talent he innately has but doesn’t seem to realize the depth of. what he’d spend his time doing absently before he got caught up in the rat race of the restaurant industry. he talks about art like it’s something he’s compelled to do, like it’s something he loses himself in. a flow state.

carmy can flourish too. it’s just that he’s going to need to go somewhere else to do it.

surprisingly he actually knows a thing or two about kpop and idols. Was surprised to see you pop up on tv when he stayed over with Mikey because Emma actually likes ur group. “Woah Ken-chin!! isn’t that [name]??” Draken seriously had to double check to see if it was actually you.

When you actually told him you were a kpop idol he kissed your forehead and said “I know” so proudly. Believe it or not he brags about it to his friends “my girlfriend is a kpop idol, you should stream their music!!”

ALSO he once dragged you along to a party (mitsuyas bday party) and everyone was there, when I tell you hakkai froze and almost fainted at the sight of you. #3 biggest and supporter right there (according to draken) you had to kind of step out for a second with draken before hakkai had a heart attack.

still he was so happy to meet you (his bias btw..) many congratulations and nice to meet you’s from him.

at some point paparazzi actually noticed you with him out on a date (thankfully they didn’t get to snap any pictures) draken dragged you out of the park as fast as he could covering you with his hoodie. he protects you from paparazzi you can’t tell me otherwise <3

BONUS: whenever he hears your songs pop up on the radio (no matter where he is) he turns it all the way up. If anyone is around him he recommends your unit to them. “They’re really good specially [name]!!” (Of course he also looks up to your group members he just likes to brag about you a lot <33)

sano manjiro “mikey”

Once again,, surprisingly knows what kpop is all because of his sister. (I’m telling you Emma is a kpop Stan u can’t tell me otherwise) when he actually gets into your music he’s hooked

He would steal Emma’s photocard collection of you or pretty much anything with your face or name on it. Wouldn’t even feel guilty abt it, not one bit “she’s my gf I think that’s enough explanation!!” “WELL I BOUGHT IT SO ITS MINE” yeah they would both argue until you actually gave Emma new signed merch

MOVIE NIGHTS WITH HIM AND HIS SISTER and many Shinichiro.. you can’t tell me otherwise. You guys would have pop corn and snacks before watching the movie all while having your groups music playing on the background (supportive bf I love him <;3)

He hates paparazzi sm, I feel like he would be really jealous of other people taking pictures of you specially when you’re just trying to have a nice time at some cafe. Anytime paparazzi came to bash you and take pictures with you he would cling onto you and cover you from their view. “Only I should be able to take pictures of you” with a pouty face

You would take him to meet your group members and he would ask for autographs from each of them (to brag to Emma ofc). The dude doesn’t even know their names.. it’s okay tho because he’s now best friends with them!!

He actually stayed on set once you guys were filming an mv for your recently released song. Your group tried to get him to try and learn the dance (he actually made it to the behind the scenes videos which was him dancing with your group)

he reads those [name] x reader fan fictions, hee proud of it actually. Others can keep imagining while he can actually have the real thing, im almost sure he would actually have a fan account just for you.

he 100% goes to your concerts with Emma, you actually reserve him and his sister seats. Most of the time you’re always looking at him when you’re performing. if you send him kisses or winks while you’re dancing he’ll immediately go insane.

he gets backstage privileges. yes he does indeed get that privilege. always congratulated you and your group mates for your amazing performance. is extremely clingy after you guys leave for the hotel you booked. he ends up staying with you because he’s too lazy to drive back to his own house.

BONUS: CUDDLES, the best cuddles you’ve ever received in your life, specially after an exhausting performance. he takes care of you <33 “you did great today”

baji keisuke

he has some idea what kpop or idols are.. the moment you told him he just said “cool” Chifuyu would be the one to explain it to him. Afterwards he would be happy to listen to your songs and even buy your albums

100% convinced his mother would listen to you, idc idc fight me she would. His mother loves you i know she does, the moment you visited baji to meet his mother she cried tears of joy. give this woman free merch SIGNED, dude you would go as far as to take her to your group members so she could meet them all sobs.

once you were tired like really tired since you were coming from endless hours of practice so all you wanted was to spend time with your bf.. you knocked on the door and when he let you in all of his friends were there playing a board game

chifuyu who had begged baji to let him meet you immediately greeted you, bro was fascinated, astonished, flabbergasted to finally see you in flesh and bone. that day you stayed over and played games with them by the end of it you fell asleep. baji tucked you into his bed and afterwards fell asleep hugging you.

HE LOATHES ABSOLUTELY HATES PAPARAZZI. he almost punched one of them once because you were caught completely off guard as they took pictures of you with the flash on. “Piss off cant you see we’re busy??” Most of your fans actually think he’s rude but he’s a sweet guy who just wants to protect his gf <;3

No but fr he would go as far as to break some cameras just so you could have some relaxing time without having to worry about paparazzi. although many attempts have failed because there is abt 100 pictures of you and baji online having dates and picnics.. let’s just say he’s pretty pissed off abt it

baji would 100% teach you how to protect yourself from weird people, pervs and all that stuff. “There’s weird people out there so you need to know how to at least land a punch” you actually ended up sending some perv to the hospital for kicking him where it hurts. baji was proud yet disgusted at how the man even tried to make a move.

BONUS: yk how cats often come into his room, you always take care of them with baji when you stay over. it’s as if the cats were your children and you and baji were their parents.

mitsuya takashi

mitsuya actually listened to your songs even before you started dating. he was quite lucky (as he claims) to have met you that rainy day that you had forgotten your umbrella and he had offered his. “excuse me? here you can use my umbrella if you want” he was so sweet about it “ah, thank you so much I can’t afford my papers getting wet, will you be fine?”

you were surprised he didn’t bash you with questions and asking for an autograph so you guessed he didn’t know who you were. you ended up giving him your personal number so you could return his umbrella. he was shocked when he found out who you actually were,, the rest is pretty much history

his sisters love you, you always make sure to bring them some type of gift before visiting. mitsuya actually tries to get you to not buy them anything because he thinks it’s a lot but cmon now mana and luna deserve love. they wanted your groups albums for Christmas and they got that and more, you got all your group members to record some type of video and greeting they thanked you profusely afterwards

he’s a designer and you are an idol.. guess what that means. HE MAKES YOUR OUTFITS,, he totally does I know it. anytime your group and you come up with a theme for your mvs Mitsuya always offers to make your outfits. you always proudly wear all of his creations,, like for an interview?? red carpet?? music video?? or just an outfit overall Mitsuya is your guy.

paparazzi would be asking you who the designer is and all you have to say is “This is a piece made by my boyfriend, Mitsuya Takashi.. thank you for asking” he gained a few hundred of followers that day.

dates a lot of dates with him whenever you have free time, even tho paparazzi may sometimes ruin it’s okay because there’s a few 20 new pictures of both of you online showing the world how in love u are.

BONUS: movie nights with him and his sisters, it’s pretty much basically just you and Mitsuya since mana and luna always fall asleep on the first 10 minutes of the movie. anyway it’s more time for you and Mitsuya so win win??

matsuno chifuyu

now this little silly he has a whole shelf full of your groups albums, magazines and posters. he listens, streams, quite literally enjoys your music (he stans new jeans and wonder girls you can’t tell me otherwise)

your relationship is pretty much public, all of your fans know who he is. I believe they follow peke j’s Instagram account, (it’s what they love most abt your bf) like his cats account has more followers than his own main acc😭

every time you stay at chifuyu house you always make sure to bring some type of treat for peke j, he absolutely adores you. cuddle peke j and leave chifuyu outside his own bed quite literally

LIBRARY DATES,, you both go to the library to check out/buy manga and other books you may like. you guys have those cute little cafe dates where you guys either spend your time reading or just talking about your day and life

he watches your interviews, AND he was once invited to go into one. like a couple interviews or yk those interviews where couples get cards with questions that only they know abt each other. or just cute games for couples,, yeah those basically. fan base went crazy after that interview dropped

you planned on adopting a cat once so chifuyu recommended some adoption centers. sadly you didn’t end up adopting a cat but you did get a date at a cat cafe so a loss and a win?? “look at this cat!! her name is bee she’s so cute” so many cats surrounded him it was cute <33

he’s neutral abt paparazzi tbh, he just dislikes it when you feel uncomfortable being bashed by so many people at the same time. sadly he can’t do much about them,, but when you’re both out of their sight he treats you to whatever you want a lot of comfort from his part

BONUS: since you’re friends with a lot of other kpop idols you invited chifuyu once to meet some of them. he got to meet a lot of his biases and got a shit ton of autographs and merch,, afterwards he thanked you endlessly,, lots of kisses <33

Summary: You get attacked when out with Joel and he ‘takes care of it’. (protective, feral!Joel) ... literally just violence with a soft ending tbh

He doesn’t like you to see this side of him, but he has to do this. He can’t let them get away with it. He saw the way he manhandled you, he saw him jerk your head up by your hair, he saw him hold his knife to your throat, eyes wild like a fucking animal. He saw red.

Joel reacted like a machine. It took him an instant to cross the few yards to you and once he knocked the man that was on you out cold with the back of his rifle, he shot all of his pig friends. It took him four seconds, three bullets in the back of three heads as they ran away, the fucking cowards. Not the one who’d touched you, though, no, that would be too humane.

Joel needed to punish him. Joel needed him disfigured, so that when that image of you, defenseless, frozen in terror, seconds away from having your throat slit or being taken for something worse, popped into his head, he would remember the motherfucker’s pulped face, his pleads for mercy, the sound of his bones cracking, and the feeling of his fist pounding into him. Joel needed to destroy him.

When he looked back at you after he’d taken out the coward pigs, your chest was heaving, skin slick with sweat, hair disheveled from where the son of a bitch had grabbed it. Joel rushed to you, his hands, calloused from violence, softly cradled your face, seeing if you were ok. Your only injury was a nick on your throat, a thin line of blood running down from it. It made him sick, seeing what'd been done to you. He was itching to beat the culprit to death but he needed to make sure you were safe first. He was relieved to see that that was your only wound, but your face was wet with tears, trembling as you choked on gasps. Joel pulled you in and held you tight, swaying you in his arms.

“It’s ok, baby, it’s ok, Ive got’chu, you’re safe. I took care of it, baby.”

Before you two left the scene, Joel stripped the still unconscious man of everything except for his jeans and shirt and then gagged and bound him tightly to a bike rack in front of the building where you’d been attacked.

Joel relished in the muffled, panicked squawks of the scumbag when he came back for him, taking his time dragging him through the building and into a bathroom, grabbing a chair from the hallway on his way in. Joel didn’t exactly feel excited to start his work on him, it was more of a need to.

By the time he was done, all of the teeth on the left side of your attacker’s face were smashed into his mouth. Blood streamed like syrup down from his face to soak his shirt and down into his lap. Joel’d broken and dislocated his jaw, his nose was bent sideways, and his left eye and temple were black and red with bruising. His hands were crushed against the arms of the chair he was tied to–that was one of the first things he’d done to him.

He only stopped when his own hand started to seriously hurt, not wanting to break it. Joel had taken the fucker's knife with a certain idea in mind of how he’d finish him off.

“Recognize this, huh? This yours?” When the man paused, Joel roared, spit flying from his mouth, “ANSWER ME.”

His voice was weak but he croaked out a yes.

“Whose knife is that?”

“Mine.”

“And you remember where this knife was earlier today? Or did I beat your brains in too hard for you to think straight? You remember?”

He gargled out another yes.

“Where was it?” Joel's voice was deep with deadly sternness.

“It was… on the girl…”

“It was on her fuckin’ throat.” He growled in a low voice, having leaned in close to the swollen, mostly maroon face slouched in the chair in front of him. “You were gonna kill’er with this, weren’t you? Or were you gonna take’er for sumn’ else? Maybe kill’er first, then fuck the dead body? Was that what you were plannin’, you sick fuck?”

He replied with slurred consonants, struggling to answer the question because Joel probably had given him a brain bleed.

“You remember it though, hm?” Joel grabbed the man's hair, like he had yours, and jerked it as he spoke, still leaning in close, “I’m gonna slit your throat now. And then I'm gonna slit it again. And then I’m gonna look you in the eyes while you choke to death on your own blood, ‘n the very last thing you’re gonna see before you die is gonna be me.” Joel absolutely snarled.

And that's exactly what happened.

As soon as he knew the man was dead Joel grabbed his coat and left. Before meeting you back where you were squatting, Joel used snow to wash most of the blood off of his hands. He looked down and saw blood spatter on his shirt.

“God damn it. That motherfucker…” He murmured as he trudged away.

Joel knew that when he came back you’d take your time to gently clean and bandage his hand, and then flush water through the spots on his shirt to clean away the blood. You’d do all of it in silence, occasionally pecking a soft kiss somewhere on him–on his palm before wrapping the bandage around it, along his shoulders and collarbone after you’d stripped off his shirt, and then all around his cheek and jaw once you were all done and sat next to him on the ratty couch. You let him clean and bandage the cut on your neck even though it probably didn't really need it, and then he wrapped you up into his arms and held you close so you could feel each other's breathing, his bare chest and belly warm against you. After some time, you bring him to bed, pulling him onto the mattress on the floor and letting him shower you in soft kisses, whisper sweet nothings into your ear and cuddle until you both fall asleep.

You didn’t want to think about what he’d had to have done to fuck his hand up like he had, but you’d never held violence against him. Even when you’d seen his ferociousness, you were never afraid of him. Joel had a kind heart and you knew that, but in this world, it manifests in different ways. You knew he’d do anything to protect you, and you let him, because you knew the way you loved him was protecting him, too.

Arya and Sansa storyswap: an exercise in imagination

Premise: I tried to speculate what might happen if Sansa manages to escape King's Landing and Arya gets stuck in the capital. I collected my thoughts on this scenario trying to make logical, credible choices that respected the characterization of the characters and the timeline of the books (the wiki was very usefull for this). I discarded all the scenarios that end in "…and then she dies horribly" because they're boring. I write with assumption that they would still remain POV characters and therefore mantain a minimum of plot armor. Like everyone, I have my biases so it's not perfect, but I tried to put myself in the most neutral mindset possible. Enjoy and let me know your thoughts. Part 2, Part 3

Part 1/3: Sansa

A Game of Thrones

I believe Sansa's story would remain mostly the same until the end of Sansa III (AGOT). The only thing I feel like adding is an exchange with Arya. During breakfast Sansa notices Arya's bruises and her sister tells her about the secret passage with dragon skulls that she found, and how she got out of the Red Keep. Sansa clearly doesn't believe her and she thinks it's just Arya being weird.

At the end of Sansa III they receive the news that they will be leaving King's Landing soon, and she runs away crying and barricades herself in her room. In Sansa IV she is locked in Maegor's Holdfast and we find out that she went to Cersei to tell her about Ned's plan to leave. There's a narrative hole between these two chapters that can be exploited to make little changes. What happened that night after Sansa locked herself in her room? It has to be something that makes her change her mind about going to the queen or at least something that stops her from doing so. Personally I choose septa Mordane, you could expand her character and make her a little more similar to how she is in the show where she is shown genuinely loyal to House Stark.

The septa is present when Sansa escapes to her room so it's not unrealistic that she would decide to follow her. Sansa has been behaving "almost as wicked as Arya" lately so Mordane decides to follow her to lecture her or console her. Maybe she reaches her before she can barricade the door and make her see reason. Or perhaps seeing the girl so out of it she goes to Lord Eddard to talk, and she persuades him to talk again to his daughter and help her to calm down. Here you could write a scene parallel to the one in which Ned talks to Arya about Needle.

Sansa is not happy with her father's plans, and she begs him to go to the queen, to discuss this further and find another solution, to make her stay. To reassure her, Ned tells her that he already intends to go to Cersei (as he will do in Eddard XII), but he does not reveal the real reason why he wants to talk to her.

However he fears that the girl might take the initiative and do it herself. To be safe he assigns her a guard and ask him and the septa to prevent his daughter from interacting with Cersei before the departure. (I would like the guard to be Alyn but at this point he has already left for the Riverlands).

Cersei has less informations and when the moment of Ned's arrest arrives, Sansa is with her protectors that have already been warned to keep the Lannisters away from her. When the Lannister men arrive for her, the Stark guard slows them down and septa Mordane drags her away. First the two try to look for Ned, but they soon realize that the Tower of the Hand is under attack. The septa drags Sansa into the servants' quarters (into the kitchens? in the pantry?) idk.

The Septa shoves her in a dark niche, under a cupboard, throws a tablecloth over her and tells her to stay hidden. Mordane tries to think of a plan, but the Lannister men burst in. They recognize her as one of the Stark servants but when she does not provide useful information on the Stark girls they kill her. Sansa remains there all night, lying in the dust. She tries not to make any noise, she is terrified, and from her hiding place she can see the septa's corpse lying on the ground.

The first light of dawn comes in through a little window. Sansa tries to gather courage, she has to leave before the servants start working. The idea disgusts her, but she sees only one way to go unnoticed: she undresses Mordane, covers the silk dress with the septa's habit and hides the face with her veil. Then she wraps the woman in the tablecloth, as if it were a shroud and hides her in that same niche. She tries not to attract attention and find a way out. Sansa doesn't fully understand what happened, she would like to go to the queen or her father, but she is too afraid of the Lannister men after seeing them kill Mordane.

She hasn't eaten in a whole day so before leaving the kitchens she steals some food, like she did with Jeyne. The thought saddens her, who knows where her friend is? She hasn't seen her since she had breakfast with her and Arya. 'Arya...' Sansa remembers the secret passage her sister told her about and decides to try to reach it. With a little luck she makes it, no one pays attention to an anonymous septa. Thanks to the tunnel she manages to reach Flea Bottom.

Here she lives for a few days, trying to listen conversations to find out something about her father. Obv Sansa doesn't try to kill pigeons, she has to stoop to pilfering some food, and even eat trash. She mostly frequents the surroundings of the The Great Sept of Baelor and prays. She sings religious hymns and people take her for a begging septa and throw her some crumbs. One day the sept square fills with people, they are here for the execution of the traitor Eddard Stark. Sansa tries to climb up to not be crushed by the crowd. She sees her beloved Joffrey give the order! She screams, but her voice is drowned out by the noise.

The show is over, the people disperse again. She looks around desperately searching for something, she hopes for a friendly face. it is then that she recognizes a man dressed in black: it's Yoren. Sansa had seen him a few days earlier in the throne room, while he was asking father for men to recruit in the Night's Watch (in Sansa III). He's going away, but Sansa follows him. Now it's clear to her that King's Landing is no longer a safe place and this may be her only chance to return in the North, to home, to safety.

Yoren realizes he's being followed and try to scare her away. Sansa lifts her veil to show herself, she reveals her identity, She begs him to take her out of the city with him, she try to appeal to the ancient friendship between the Starks and the Night's Watch. Yoren looks at her face and recognizes a certain resemblance to Catelyn Stark. He chooses to believe her, so he cuts her hair, dresses her up as a boy and throws her in with the other recruits.

A Clash of Kings

I find it very funny that Sansa's boy name could be Sandor. Anyway, she tries to act nice and compliant to not put herself at risk, but mostly gets people to walk all over her. The younger recruits bully her because she “looks like a female (derogatory)” and she's an easy target. On the other hand, she doesn't have a sword to steal so Hot Pie and Lommy don't try to rob her, they just think she's a loser. Sansa keeps to herself, she doesn't go near Jaqen's cage, she doesn't catch a rabbit to share with Gendry, she doesn't manage to establish a particular relationship with anyone in the group. The commonfolk sucks, Yoren is kind I guess but he stinks. It will take a long time before she can start thinking about social injustice, for now she's just shocked by their miserable living conditions.

The Golden cloaks come looking for Gendry, but Sansa stays hidden because she thinks they are looking for her. Why would the queen want that rude guy? For a moment she thinks that he vaguely resemble Lord Renly… but no, that's nonsense. And even if it was, he's still a bastard. Yoren tells them that if the golden cloaks return they must escape.

One night the group go to sleep, but soon they are attacked by Amory Lorch. Sansa doesn't want to fight, she tries to hide, but in the chaos she ends up showing a soldier down from the tower, killing a man for the first time. She does everything she can to reach the trapdoor and escape. There's no way she'll go back to free Jaqen, but she decides to grab Weasel in the escape.

The small group of survivors, led by Gendry, arrive near an abandoned village. The Bull decides to explore it and takes Hot Pie with him. Sansa doesn't know it, but Gendry wants to abandon her and the others because he thinks they are just slowing them down. He has decided to propose the escape to Hot Pie because he is the second "less useless" choice after Arya. As per canon, Gendry and Hot Pie are captured by the Mountain's men (and probably die in Harrenhal).

Now here is an important change. Arya was captured and taken to Harrenhal because she returned to the village and try to save Gendry, but I don't think Sansa would do the same so she would not be captured at this point in the story. When Sansa and Weasel hear the sound of men in armor approaching, they run away to hide and leaves Lommy there to his fate.

The two girls now find themselves in the forest alone and without supplies in a land of burned villages, they're severely malnourished. Sansa would definitely think about trying to reach Riverrun, but she has no way of orienting herself. If we want to give her any hope of survival I'd say the only solution is for the two of them to be lucky enough to walk in the right direction. In this way the two get closer to the territory frequented by the Brotherhood without Banners and with a bit of luck the outlaws finds them before they die of starvation.

A Storm of Swords

The Brotherhood takes the orphans with them and feeds them. Weasel is probably left at the first inn/orphanage (where she will live a long and happy life), while Sansa meets Harwin, she is recognized and taken hostage. She learns that Winterfell has been conquered by Theon and that Bran and Rickon are dead.

She stark using women's clothes again because she prefers them. And also because every day she manages to hide the fact that she is a girl less and less. She has no intention of cutting her hair a second time, and now that she started eating regularly again she got her first period too. Coarse as they are, it is a relief to be surrounded by people who recognize her as a noble lady. Lady Ravella is a breath of fresh air and Tom is an acceptable singer. She enjoys Edric Dayne's company and thinks he's cute, but she doesn't understand why he wants to talk about Jon Snow.

Sansa is taken to Lord Beric who promises to reunite her with her mother. The sight of the undead man repulses her, but his behavior is chivalrous enough. She certainly doesn't try to escape, she just hopes that he respects his oath.

One day a prisoner with a familiar and unmistakable face is brought to the Hollow Hill: it's the Hound.

there you stood among the debris and broken foundations of buildings and trees left over from the earlier collisions of chaos magic, and cursed energy, gravity in particular.

gojo satoru and the other jujutsu sorcerers who were battered and bruised from earlier's fight watched as you planted your feet on the ground while in mid-air, a small yet gentle turbulent red psionics flowing outwards as you did.

you hung your head low, allowing your [color] locks of hair to fall and cover your face as you walked towards him, whose body had been gravely injured by your final chaos magic attack on him earlier. your steps were heavy and slow as you clutched your bleeding and bruised arm, which was exposed due to tatters on your customized scarlet jujutsu tech uniform.

you were too exhausted to heal yourself with your own abilities. nonetheless, you continued on because you needed to get to him no matter what. even if it broke your heart to see your ex-partner—your partner in such a terrible state as he leaned weakly against a rubble. his black hair was no longer tied in a half-up, half-do; a horrible bleeding dash had been inflicted on him, ripping up his clothes.

as blood dripped down the side of shinya's face, he lifted it and turned to face you, his gray eyes fixed on yours as you stood and loomed over him, where he noticed your expression. it was no surprise that you hung your head low. tears were glistening in your [color] eyes, and that hurt shinya a lot.

shinya wasn't heartless even if he had declared you and the rest of your jujutsu sorcerers family his enemies. he simply buried the feeling away because he had already made his decision. he despised seeing you cry even back then.

"[nickname]," shinya spoke up, his lips curving into a broken smile, "what'cha tearing up for?"

you found yourself clenching your fists, trembling fists to be precise. your knees gradually buckled to the floor, unconcerned that the rough ground would graze and scratch them. shinya furrowed his brows as he slowly extended his hand towards yours, which were flat on your thighs, and that's when he felt your tears fall on the back of his hand.

"you did it, didn't you? you saved the jujutsu sorcerers you considered family from me, the villain, [name]," shinya chuckled softly, shaking his head, "of course you would. you're the scarlet witch. as much as i hate to fucking admit it, you're stronger than me."

"we were supposed to be the strongest together, shin.." you muttered as you clenched your fists even tighter. you were choking on your words, but you held it together and lifted your head to finally face him, locking gazes with his gray eyes—the same ones you loved so much when the two of you first met each other.

but you couldn't find it in yourself right now to adore them. not with shinya's current condition, not when he was dying, and absolutely not when he was staring at you with those eyes.

"go on, [nickname], curse me all you want. it all my fault after all, pretty," shinya intertwined his bloodied and bruised hand in yours.

"how the fuck am i supposed to curse my one and only partner?" your words weren't as venomous as they should have been. in fact, your tone was sullen rather than angry.

shinya's brows drew together, almost sympathetically, but he lets you continue speaking as you shake your head and take a sharp breath of air, "i can't curse you, shinya."

"why?" shinya asked unintelligibly, puzzled and surprised by your choice of words.

shinya's hands were getting colder, and you could feel it as they rose and cupped your warm cheeks. the wind picks up, emphasizing the coldness of his body, and it's only then that you realize your cheeks are wet from tears streaming down your face. your eyes glow a faint red color as they reflect the burning sunset in the background.

"because i love you, hatsuki shinya, and i always have, even back when you left and chose this path. you're my partner—my everything, and it fucking hurts so much," you said with shinya's thumb brushing away your tears.

"damn it, [nickname], curse me a little, will you?" shinya's voice strained as his lips trembled, "stop blaming yourself."

you shook your head, closing your eyes as you held one of his hands, making it cup your face, "i can't."

when the curse-user suddenly wrapped his arms around you, gojo and the jujutsu sorcerers tensed. however, gojo stopped them with a raised hand, realizing that shinya was simply hugging you, before your older brother megumi, maki, nobara, and yuuji could run towards to attack with the intention to protect you from him.

your body ran warm in his embrace, which was becoming colder by the second, and that's when he pressed your body closer to his.

"maybe if i could have been your eyes and seen the world like you did, breathed everything you breathed and felt everything you felt, then maybe.. just maybe, [name].. i could have loved you the way i have always wanted to.."

you buried your face into the crook of his neck, unconcerned about his blood staining your face and everything, or that you were clinging to him so tightly at this point.

"you won't die, shinya," your hushed words rolled off your tongue like a plea.

"not even you can make that promise, [name]," shinya shook his head, rubbing your back to comfort you.

shinya's nose bleeds red, and the next thing you know, he's coughing blood, prompting him to pull your body away from his. your eyes widened as you stared at your palms. your magic hit him too hard earlier and nearly made him decay. shinya was right about your strength. your partner was well aware of how powerful you exactly were.

"do what you have to do," shinya straightened his back, attempting to sit upright, but struggled to do so, "finish what you started."

"shinya.." you spoke up to protest.

"no, [name], i can't stay. not after what I've done to you and everyone, and i want this more than ever," shinya said firmly.

with that, shinya's face crinkled into a smile, a genuine smile, "to have my partner do this."

you nodded your head. it was a difficult pill to swallow, but you had to accept it as it was. no matter how hard you tried, no matter how much you loved shinya as much as he loved you, this was inevitable. he was doomed to die, and you had no choice but to live. shinya has already chosen the path of darkness, while you have chosen the path of light.

to simply put it, you and shinya were destined to meet but not to be with each other, and it was the curse of the strongest ones.

with a heavy heart, you gently twisted your dominant hand, allowing red psionics to seep from your fingertips. it was a little faint due to your exhaustion and wounds, but it should suffice. you'll make it work. for shinya.

"you know, the sunset reminds me so much of you," shinya's eyes were now half-lidded and drooping from exhaustion.

"and just like the sunset, i'll see you again. maybe not in this life, or in the afterlife, but perhaps in another life or universe, and i'm confident that i will love every version of you, over and over, fushiguro [name], because i love you in every universe," shinya said, his voice barely audible, but you heard it nonetheless.

as shinya smiled at you and spoke such words, you mouthed them back, and before the jujutsu sorcerers knew it, you maneuvered your hand and the other, using your red psionics once more to end the curse user.

you wanted to close your eyes, not wanting to see what will become of shinya, but you read his thoughts loud and clear, and he called out to you, telling you not to take your gaze away from him.

"you could never hurt me," said shinya through his thoughts to comfort you even in his final moments, "i just feel you, [nickname]."

you wanted to fight back against his words, but you did what he wanted. you stood there watching and letting your chaos magic struck him. you wanted to scream and cry your soul out. you wanted him to stop staring at you with those eyes and that goddamned smile.

life flashed before shinya's eyes like a movie, and you saw everything as you subconsciously read his thoughts, from him first meeting you to the two of you fighting like a damned old married couple, to you and shinya accomplishing missions together as special grade sorcerers, to you and him coming home together after a long day, all the way to him staring at the sunset wishing it was you instead.

as your chaos magic accelerated the aging of his body to the point where there was no trace of him left, but only a hair tie—the hair tie he stole from you and had been using since he lost his. you picked it up from the ground and held onto it tightly, remembering him doing so.

was it really a curse of the strongest ones? was it fate for the scarlet witch to lose the people she cares about? it could be either, but as you turn your heel and walk away, you can't help but think about your adoptive father's words;

you straightened your back, took a deep breath, slipped the hair tie on your wrist, just below your black wristers, and raised your gaze to the horizon. hatsuki shinya was finally at rest and most likely reunited with his father-figure, mahiru, in the afterlife, but a part of you had died along with him.

shinya was more than just your partner or someone who made you feel less lonely; he was your other half, your soulmate. he was everything, and you loved him with your whole heart and soul.

love is the most twisted curse of them all.

it had to be that. you were certain of it.

"[name]-chan," yuuji attempted to speak to you as he walked up to meet you mid-way, but you remained silent and continued walking.

"[name]," megumi pried this time, attempting to converse with his half-brother, but you, like towards yuuji, ignored him.

"gojo-sensei, [name]-chan..." nobara frowned as she approached your adoptive dad in concern.

"let her be, kugisaki," gojo response was quiet and sullen as he placed a hand on her shoulder.

gojo bit the inside of his cheek as he and everyone else noticed the look in your eyes. it was completely empty, a void of nothingness. they were even puffy red from your tears earlier. you couldn't even describe how you felt, other than grieving and feeling; it just hurt so much. white noise was even filling your ears.

you walked past everyone, your head low as you wiped the blood—shinya's blood to be exact—that had stained your face, the very burden on your shoulders.

gojo satoru knew exactly how you felt—the unexplainable pain and grief—and he couldn't help but sympathize with you as he stared down at your figure, which was getting smaller and smaller as you walked further past them. tour uncle suguru geto was once a hatsuki shinya in gojo's life.

although he and the others didn't hear what you two said, gojo knows it was similar to the last time he spoke to his own partner.

and because gojo knows how it feels to have loved and lost, he feels guilty that his daughter, his most beloved child, is going through the same hell he did. it was a scene gojo was all too familiar with, especially with the bitter ending wherein love truly is the most twisted curse of them all.

[ author's notes ! ngl, i lowkey hate the ending i wrote because some tears are in my eyes yk LMAO and the fact that i had just a heartwrenching skk ao3 fic does not help at all, but i did enjoy writing this—somewhat—because it felt right to have reader's partner end up the same way as geto because this is reader taking after gojo satoru, but also because i got to reference mcu! wanda maximoff's grief too, which i hope i was able to encapture in this writing, so thank you for requesting this foxy. hoped you like it ! ]

[ p.s. ! the song suggestions are highly recommended btw—i was listening to them while i was writing this. it makes the angst hit harder and more differently. 10/10 experience 😌🤝]

- jaime is a light sleeper by nature and jason is a deep sleeper by nature (light sleeper by bat training)

- jaime runs cold and jason runs hot so cuddling thermal equilibrium my beloved

- jaime as a civilian and adjusting into a civilian gothamite is more terrifying than blue beetle since he takes after his nana during college

- jaime makes jason feel normal, or as normal as a gothamite can be

- they study together and when Jaime or Jason are too mentally tired to continue they cuddle to recharge

- i very much focus on martha wayne's pearl collection when it comes to batkids bc i am THAT martha guy so i feel like jason would try to give jaime a peice from her collection like a small bracelet or earrings and jaime would go "do not put me in HEIRLOOMS" and then another bat upon accepting jaime would do it and jaime just sags bc oh okay this is a wayne thing to induct people into the family alr

- they're both such romantics and it drives everyone else up the wall bc they've been like this since before they were dating bc they're both pro kissing the homies goodnight and it's NORMAL to them so them dating kinda clicks into place with not a whole lot of fanfare

- before jaime finds out abt jason being red hood jaime just thinks that it must be a coincedence that whenever he texts jason an update abt him being caught up in a rogue scheme or a hostage situation red hood always arrives to the scene first and it is hilarious

‘kay we got a lot of Ethan being ghostface and all— but what if it was the other way around hm? Here’s the idea:

Reader is ghostface who is anonymous and neither detective Bailey, Quinn, or Ethan know who they are —

But reader is a lot more violent — so when Sam asks: “so who was the other one that attacked us?“ And they don’t know who she’s talking about until the reader appears as ghostface and they’re all surprised who’s under the mask.

"Ethan, Bailey...?" Sam eyed the other masked figure. "Mindy...?" The figure shook their head and pulled the mask off of their face. "Quinn.." Tara shook her head. "You're dead though..." Quinn chuckled. "It was all an act!" Tara backed up into the nearby brick, feeling the brick be loose.

"You're all crazy..." Ethan shrugged. "We prefer the term psychotic," Sam shook her head. "It was you three...the subway, the apartment, that goddamn old building!" Quinn, Bailey, Ethan quirked an eyebrow. "What building?" Bailey asked while pointing his gun furhter into Sam's direction. "What..?" Bailey rolled his eyes. "What building, Sam?"

Quinn raised a finger. "Hold on. We never attacked them at the old building," Ethan nodded. "Then who..?"

"Surprise..."

Tara and Sam swiftly turned around to meet another Ghostface, one that felt...off.

"Who the hell are you?!" Quinn shouted. "Is that a way to treat someone who has more experience with Ghostface than you ever will?" Quinn scoffed. "Who. The. Fuck. Are. You?" She repeated.

"Well, if you insist..." The unknown Ghostface slowly took off their mask, revealing...you. "[Name?]" All of their eyes widened. You, an OG, who had gone through for much shit trying to survive from Ghostface becomes Ghostface itself?

They all sat there in silence. When finally processed, Ethan, and Quinn feel a burst of excitement coarse through their bodies, an OG...helping them?!

"So you've been helping them...?" Tara grip tightened on the brick. "Helping them? Oh, no, darlin'. Im just doing this for fun. Im quite tired of being the prey, so why not the predator?" Their excitement died down.

"All those years of running away from Ghostface, and being betrayed by others. I just thought, 'well why not reverse the cards for a bit,' hm?" You laughed. "And oh, how right i was. this has been fun!" You turned to the three other Ghostface. "You three make good Ghostface, but not as good as Billy, Stu, and the others."

Hearing that gave Ethan somewhat of a boost of confidence. "Where's Richie in that list?" Quinn asked. "Richie? Oh...he was the worst Ghostface Ive seen," you slowly spat, enjoying provoking them. "So pathetic," Sam starts and you watch her, amused.

"Thats not true," Bailey retorted. "Yea. Your son, he is a man-baby, let his girlfriend do all the killing..." Bailey had gotten even more furious by the second. "Shes right," Quinn pointed her knife at you. "You, you stay out of this!" You only snickered in response.

"He was a strong, feral young man!" Bailey's voice cracks. "He was a limp-dick little fuck, who cried before i slit his throat." Bailey was one second from pulling the trigger, but before that happened, Sam had ran over to your side, missing the bullet.

Tara charged at Quinn, hitting her face with a brick. She fell backwards. "Damn," you moved backwards. You smirked, before swiftly walking up behind Bailey, kicking him in the back so he fell. "What?! " You crouched down, grabbing the gun and tossing it Sam.

Ethan began chasing Tara, while Sam busied herself with Quinn. Tara was running from Ethan, climbing away from him. "I've always wanted to stick something in you, Tara!" Tara turns around while Ethan Sticks his knife up. "Fuck you!" Tara shouted. "Fuck you!" Ethan shouted back.

"Gotcha!" You hear Ethan catch up with Tara after a few minutes. She screams before shoving a knife down his throat, twisting it while a smile grin ghosted over he face. "You're dying a virgin," He screams in pain while eating that knife.

You pulled out your knife before stabbing Bailey in chest, over and over after keeping him down with your foot. Bailey put up a fight, tackling you while you tackled him back.

You heard a crash, only to see Ethans head under a TV. "Shit looks like that hurts..." QUinn screamed at the sight of her father and bother being murdered. SHe charges at Sam, who puoints the gun at Quinn. "Looks like your down another brother."

Quinn's body fails down, after being shot in the head by Sam. Sam turned around, to meet you, but by the time she did, you were gone. "where did they...?" Tara shrugged at Sam, both of them just standing in silence.

OK IM SO EXCITED FOR 5x01 OPENING, I feel like it's been brushed over, like I've seen people excited that we get a 1983 flashback but I NEED to see people's theories on the further implications of this!!

Every opening scene in stranger things gives us information for a 'hook' for the season, which is why I really want to know about season 5 because it's just odd:

Season 1: something mysterious kills the scientist, leading us to wonder whats going on.

Season 2: we learn there are others like 11, and that Kali exists/escaped aswell, it's important.

Season 3: introduction of the Russian arc, and the attempted opening of the gate

Season 4: we learn about the Hawkins lab massacre and Elevens 'role' in it- revealing new backstory

Basically it's ALWAYS new information, so they wouldn't just be showing Will in the upside down and leaving it at that, because that brings nothing that we didn't already know to the table.

My point is that every one of these things is the hook for an arc within the season, we know the opening is Will in the upside down, but we don't know WHY. it has to be more than just a callback, they wouldn't waste the opening scene on something that doesn't add anything to plot, So I think this means we are finally going to get to know more of Will in the upside down (Ive read the comic but I mean what happens in the show, because I consider the stuff in the show more 'canon' and the comics are just a side thing)

we are finally going to LEARN more about his connection to the upside down, I think it'll probably confirm the theory that vecna was responsible for his kidnapping and not a demogorgan like the characters in the show assume.

Wills case is so different to the others who got killed in the upside down almost immediately and I do NOT believe it's simply because he's 'good at hiding'- like come on....those interdimensional creatures would beat his ass 💀

Also yes I 100% a demogorgan would NOT have slowly unlocked that shed door it would've ripped it apart to get inside let's bfr...something else did I and took Will 😭

I believe something had to have had sentience (probably vecna?) And doesn't kill him immediately, considering his further use, so it just leaves him alone for a WEEK?

I think he was purposely left alone, especially because we know he was singing in the upside down which would probably attract something towards the noise, Vecna definitely would've known because he can sense things through the vines and Will definitely wouldn't have known that

Even when Wills caught, he's not killed, he's taken elsewhere and is still alive, just unconscious? This is weird to me, a demogorgan wouldn't of done that, all depictions (apart from dart as a demodog) of demogorgans are shown to be immediately aggressive and attack unless locked in on a different subject (like in the S2 tunnels when the demodogs ignored them to run to the gate)

I definitely believe it was vecna, maybe making some sort of prototype for his plan to kill 4 people in season 4? I don't know, it's been awhile since I've scene S1 but I remember him kinda being like trapped vertically up in the vines with one in his mouth? I think there was definitely a plan vecna was trying to execute but it was foiled by Joyce and Hopper rescuing Will.

we know it's a hivemind, and that Will can feel the mindflayers presence, but at the end of season 4 he also states he can feel vecna hurting, which is weird because it's not like he could feel every individual in the hiveminds memories, he didn't feel the presence of every demogorgans current state and whatnot, only what the mindflayer felt, it's probably just because the mindflayer is also hurting because vecna is and he can sense that, but I thought Vecna would be smarter than to align himself into the hive Mind knowing it makes him more vulnerable, he can control them, but he isn't PART of them imo, because then if the mindflayer goes down so does he, and his 'underlings' would damage him whenever they're hurt, so I just don't think he'd do it, but Will can somehow still know how vecna feels, so I think he has some other connection to Vecna that'll be revealed in the opening scene...uh yeah sorry for rambling its dumb and I am NOT a good theorist

this is gonna be very shitposty but every once in a while i just gush over the creativity and amazing writing that is farah's character, specifically in context of her being a black woman. like her character archetype only makes sense if she's played by Jade Eshete.

Her whole life she's been brought up by a strong black military family, so she's always been expected by not just her family, but by American society as well to be the "strong, independent, badass" character. and she expects this of herself too, most of her panic attacks/breakdowns are based on her feeling like she's not being strong enough (im specifically thinking of s1, that scene with amanda). but thats the thing, Farah is incredibly strong, shes incredibly brave, and she literally is called a badass by almost every major character because she really is what holds the entire cast together.

but despite this, her character still rebels from that archetype so well, because shes not strong and brave all the time, there are many moments in the show where we see such a vulnerable side of her. and these deviations arent just a cold emotionless moments, they're messy! she's a hot mess! but thats a good thing!

The overall message of the show is one that I am already in love with, but another message the show represents in specifics to farah is that there are sooooo many ways to be strong. you're never going to prove yourself to others if they only have one way of defining their expectations of you. its because of her vulnerabilities that she is one of the strongest female protagonists ive ever seen.

anyway. hi :) prime defenders huh. this is gonna be less of an essay and more of a sleepy ramble but ohhh i have so many thoughts. they all process things so differently and none of them are good at it they all need therapy so bad. ms.g where is the hero therapy why didnt you build that into w.a.t.c.h ma'am

vyncent is probably the best at actually processing things out of all of them, he just internalizes everything to the point where he wont talk about it unless hes pushed past the breaking point. vyncent is actually very.. emotionally intelligent? i want to say mature but that feels like im singling him out because hes the oldest. i just feel like because he grew up on Fauna and had to be in basically survival mode in a world full of monsters trying to kill you.. that makes a person grow up quicker than they should. i think vyncent had a good childhood and for the most part his parents took good care of him but just.. living in that world doesnt seem like it leaves room for a whole lot of expressing emotions. vyncent is good at quick analysis of a situation, but unless a problem directly interferes with the current goal he doesnt externalize it to everyone else. but bottling up his feelings and emotions just builds up pressure over time until something like the lich makes him blow up and let it all out at once, usually in a dramatic monologue format bc condi is really good at those god damn it. also they played off the fact that vyncent said all of that to the lich and then missed his attack as a funny thing but i like to think of it as. he got too overwhelmed w his emotions and lashed out too soon it made his fighting messy. vyncent is so angry and honestly after what hes been through he deserves to be !!!!

william wisp. my boy. god hes just like me fr so much so that it physically hurts sometimes. anyway. i always think back to the scene where theyre all in the cabin talking about themselves/sharing backstories and william keeps desperately trying not to talk about himself. the fact that hes so ashamed of his powers he hides wisp form every time. two of his powers are LITERALLY a) turning invisible and b) turning intangible, usually as an excuse to leave whatever situation hes in ("accidentally" falling through the floor at opportune moments in season 1) . theres. a thing that happens at the end of episode 13/beginning of epidode 14 that youre really close to and i wont spoil yet but god it has to do with this so extremely much please come back to my inbox when you get there. youll know what it is trust me. um. yeah. so anyway. i think a lot of this comes from a place of. he doesnt want anyone to be scared of him. williams not stupid hes incredibly smart and insightful he knows his powers are objectively SCARY. hes scared of himself constantly, he doesnt want anyone else to feel that way about him, so he shifts focus whenever those aspects of himself are brought up because if someone were to think about it for any amount of time theyd realize the truth that hes scary and dangerous to be around (<< william logic. hey remember how one of the reasons he originally left deadwood was because the monsters there were attracted to the wisps and therefore Him so he left to keep his friends/family out of danger)

i think a lot about williams death and the immediate aftermath, i dont know how much you actually know and how much of this comes later but . how does he go home after waking up from that. his parents know about his powers, so they MUST know what happened. what do you think he told them when he god home muddy and dirty and broken and probably bloody after being missing for. god knows how long. how does he look his mother in the eyes and tell her her little boy is dead. but hes also not because hes standing right in front of her. how the fuck do you think he felt the first time he went into wisp form and saw his body laying there !!! of course he wouldnt want to talk about that!!!! youre gonna have to pry william wisps emotions from his cold dead hands !!!!!!!

dakota's response to the ashe situation was to run away in the woods and do nothing but train for 10 months. he didnt think about it for 10 months. i dont even have a whole lot to say about dakota other than like. stunned silence whenever his inability to process trauma is brought up because grizzly does such an incredible job at being like "you ask dakota how hes doing and his face is just blank" << paraphrased actual quote from an episode i cannot remember which one. either 11 or 12 ?

also because im thinking about him im including ashe in this. we didnt get to see a whole lot of his canon reactions to extreme emotional situations so a lot of this is just coming from My Mind but ashe seems like hed be the type to repress a lot of his emotions too. being alone in your house/in your room for extended periods of time will do that to a guy. i think he feels a lot of things and will probably very openly cry/scream/get angry when hes alone but as soon as he knows another person is there he can immediately flip the switch to turn it all off like nothing happened. very much a deadpan "im fine." if someone asks how hes doing, even if hes got like. the remainder of tear tracks down his face. cannot physically express his emotions in the presence of someone else
