It's taken me a while to get this together partly to try and arrange my thoughts in a logical order but also...

Guys, I really, really care about the use of agency in stories. Like, I've ranted about it in relation to droids, I've explained some of my problems with it in the context of the thematic changes between the OT and the PT, I stew over it constantly in my brain, it's a central theme of many of my own stories (including DLB).

I really don't like mind control, and not just in Star Wars.

Now, just because I don't like a thing doesn't mean it doesn't have a place in story telling. As a device, mind control/manipulation can be useful or important to a plot. To a theme. Overcoming it can be powerful or cool (Ella Enchanted-I prefer the novel personally, Tanjiro in Demon Slayer: Mugen Train), watching someone succumb to it can be agonizing (Frodo in Return of the King, anyone? Princess Euphemia in Code Geass?).

So, what is the point of Mind Tricks (and that naming choice, "trick," making it sound almost...harmless) in the Star Wars story, and maybe in the universe?

I feel like in its initial reveal, the mind trick was supposed to a) convey how "magical" Jedi were and b) get the plot from point A to B. Obi-Wan waves his hand, someone believes something hideously untrue, move along move along, don't think about it too hard.

Like, literally, audience, please. Don't.

Luke uses it in RotJ for pretty much the same reason. To convery a) Luke is well on his way to being a "magical" Jedi now (oh but wait, there's more character growth he needs!), and b) Luke needs to get into Jabba's palace and why would they let him in? Because he says so, so we will take him to Jabba now. Move along, move along.

I don't like the implications of this power existing, and as an adult who has been in situation where I have to report to higher powers, the disregard of the consequences of these things are a bit darker if I look too closely, but like...move along, I guess. It's fine as long as we're only using these powers on space nazis and slavers. Right?

Except then we get more movies. And cartoons. It's fine if Obi-Wan mind controls a person into not smoking, right? Smoking is Bad and Obi-Wan is Good.

To all you Qui-Gon fans out there, you may wanna leave. This analysis is probably not for you.

So like, Qui-Gon Jinn. Qui-Gon "I'm friends with the current Chancellor and thus an obvious, notable representative of the Jedi Order but I don't get along with my higher ups" Jinn. The thing you have to understand about my opinion of him is that, as a young, first time watcher of TPM, I liked him. He was funny, irreverent, direct. He was wise, or at least seemed to know things no one else did. He was a maverick, ready to go against all orders and advice for what he knew was right. And everyone around him was just stuffy and uninformed.

And to be fair, he wasn't wrong about everything. He's set up to be sympathetic. He's trying to treat with the gungans and they won't listen? Well he and Obi-Wan are right, the Trade Federation does go for the gungans. The Order says there are no Sith? Oops, wrong on that one. The Council makes the ambiguous assertion Anakin is "too old" to train. We've seen the OT. We know "too old" is nonsense.

But like, what does Qui-Gon do when he's thwarted?

He takes away people's agency.

Oh, you don't want to help us, Boss Nass, political leader? Cool, well I'm gonna undermine you in front of your entire court and you're gonna give us a whole ship (that we won't return) to help us defend a people you've been in an active war with for centuries. Oh, my currency doesn't work on this planet? I think it will mister small time junk dealer with a gambling problem (jokes on you for that one, sir).

This to me is a huge red flag in a story that is about literal slaves. I know people will defend the above examples. It was necessary. There were lives at stake.

You wanna know who would have suffered if Qui-Gon had been able to con Watto out of that part?

Anakin and Shmi.

Worthless (or event mostly worthless) currency on a planet where you have to buy water is literal death under the right circumstances. And who do you think Watto's going to reduce rations on. He's got cash flow problems? What's the quickest way for him to make back what he just lost? I'll give you a hint, he gambles on them later in the exact same movie.

So like, well before we get to "weak minded" or anything dubious like that, there's this awkward question of, "Why are the good guys always using powers to make people do things? And not worried about the consequences?"

And like, if we go back to simple story narratives, and trying to move things from point A to point B, that's fine I guess. I enjoy the OT. I'll move along.

Let me prefix this by saying I somewhat find names interesting, their etymology, their meaning etc. In this fandom I like to look at characters that may have shared the name in the past, possible parallels between them, all that jazz but with Alicent her last sticks out to me.

The word Hightower invokes the image of Rapunzel, an imprisoned princess waiting to be rescued. Princess' in towers often have a dragon guarding the tower acting as a guard dog for the jailer. Not only is House Targaryens sigil a dragon but they call themselves dragons. They're dragon riders.

Alicent is so miserable 98% of the time we see her onscreen after her father's plot to have a become queen. Viserys uses her body for pleasure and heirs he does not care for. She struggled so much as a teen mom to a wailing infant and must deal with the fact that by simply breathing her children automatically have a bounty on their heads. She can't speak tyr truth about Rhaenrya's children otherwise it's off with her head. Hell Rhaenrya herself made a snarky comment about the situation Alicent was in.

Instead of being knight physically freeing her from this cage, Criston Cole frees her emotionally because she is able to share her thoughts with him and unlike her father he does not manipulate her so she is free to do so. He frees her by acting as somewhat of a father figure to her children and while I dont believe he was going to take Lucerys eye that night, I believe he was one of the few people who cared about her wellbeing and wished he could offer her some comfort. The regret in his voice when he said "as your protector my queen"(I want so baldly to free you from your pain but theres only so much I can do) . Kingsguards only follow orders of the king and are willing to turn a blind eye to the bullshit around them but the easy Criston eyes Viserys when he is dismissive of Alicent, man is contemplating being a Kingslayer. Criston can't free her in the traditional sense but he offers a reprieve. It's such a beautiful story of courtly love.

It always makes me think of 1x07 when they're in a foreign place, somewhere alien and uncomfortable like Driftmark. And the entire time they're almost inseparable, attached at the hip. You can tell that Alicent makes her home right against Criston's chest cause she's uncomfortable in this cold and unfriendly place. He is her comfort, her familiarity.

I think that unspoken direction between them, of living in each other's personal space, tells you all you need to know about those characters without saying a word. The familiarity, the unspoken bond, and the two in one aspect of their relationship, does the job better than 1x06 of contextualizing their connection. Criston isn't her mad dog, her hired muscle, nor her personal thug. He is literally all she's had for a decade - alone - with no one to comfort or look after her. Criston is her everything. He comforts her, affirms her, and is there when she needs someone.

1x06 made them seem like bitter and scolded high school kids. But 1x07 contextualizes them as something so much more in that one scene where Alicent pleas for Justice for Aemond is ignored and she turns to Criston and demands that he take Luke's eye in return. It's so automatic, so instinctual. She is alone ... again, and so she turns to her rock, her champion, her only friend, and the man she dreamed would've been her husband, to carry out her will, to avenge her, yo avenge this child they raised together.

"No, but you are sworn to me!"

Is such a telling line. It might as well be "You're all I have left in this life!" and the moment that Alicent and Rhaenyra mix it up, Criston runs - RUNS! - to her aid and has to be restrained from getting to her. Then, in the end, comes to her side, after checking on Aemond and stands by her as they square up with Rhaenyra and Daemon - the dueling rival couples.

My only regret is that they didn't keep it like it was in the book, where Otto wasn't there, so it really was just Alicent and Criston with the kids, alone, among the Blacks. I feel it would've had more weight and isolated feeling. Cause, when Aemond loses his eye, it is the catalyst for the Lyonel and Harwin Strong's deaths and the return of Otto and Daeron to King's Landing - effectively Alicent and Criston calling the Green's banners.

im feeling angsty so here’s some pjo angst. (huskerdust angst to come):

what do you think would have happened if, in tartarus, annabeth was more scared of percy than in the books. yeah, in the books it didn’t really scare her but it was a side of percy that made her uneasy and he plans on never doing it again bc of how it affected her and what it means for himself and his morality.

but what if she wasn’t just uneasy, but got actually scared. i mean, your boyfriend of however long can suddenly control another GODDESSES own domain against her and used it to kill her. percy did it in self defense (bc misery was gonna kill them) and that is a very valid reason to do what he did. but sometimes people can’t excuse death or such a power surge.

so annabeth gets scared, but what can she do? percy is her only hope and she loves him but the things he just showed he can do is terrifying if you think about the ways he can use it. and yes, this is percy, we all know he would never use his powers for malicious reasons, but annabeth also thought luke was a good guy who would never hurt her, and look at where he is.

she wouldn’t want to be scared of him. ok, not really scared bc not a lot can scare annabeth, but she wouldn’t want to look at her boyfriend and think about the tiny tiny possibility he could maybe hurt someone who didn’t deserve it. but it’s hard to do, she’s had people she trusted hurt her in the past but eventually it gets to much.

she gets jumpy when he uses his powers past some water jets and less is playfully bitchy when they pick at eachother and sometimes she avoids sparring with percy all together.

and percy can see this affecting her. one of the things he worries about the most is protecting his family and he doesn’t want his family to be scared of him but sometimes he can’t help that. he’s powerful.

his father is, arguably, one of the most powerful of the olympian gods (i can get into that later). his mother is an entire force to be reckoned with. percy is stubborn and loyal and sticks with what he believes. he has fought gods, titans, and practically every mythical greek being there is and he’s not even in college yet. at this point he’s still in highschool and look at what he can do.

percy knows that it doesn’t matter what he does, he wont be able to fix the trauma in annabeths so he breaks up with her. annabeth tries to say no but she can’t help that little sigh of relief before percy can hear it.

they split and try to be friends, but it’s awkward. everyone else wants to know why and neither want to admit what happened.

annabeth bc she doesn’t want to smear percy’s name and she doesn’t want to come off as weak for not being able to stick past her fears.

and percy bc he doesn’t want people to think that he’s bad enough that annabeth left him. he doesn’t want people knowing what he can do and for more people to start fearing him.

im leaving it there bc i dont know how to continue it

woop i guess here i go− does it ever bother u how they don't really ever quite explain what's going on with luke's illness other than "aAAAH he'S sUDDENLY in PAIN!!1!1!" and some sort of nerve damage and what not... not that it doesn't make it any less sadder... hi anon!!! first off, i deffo wanna say uve come to the right place both abt luke hcs (because im a luke enjoyer first, a human being second) AND thoughts about his illness

tho i wouldnt say im bothered by how they dont explain the symptoms of his illness much since narratively, i can see how this would be necessary to maintain a certain amount of suspense on the NXX drug

however, ur so right in bringing up those other symptoms, bc ive got a bunch of thoughts and feelings about this!!

for context, i also have a longtime undiagnosed-after-years-of-tests neurological condition, but it's not serious and more just a lifetime inconvenience. i experience muscle myoclonus, which means that at any time without warning, my legs, arms, or neck can suddenly jerk into movement and ive actually got a bunch of those symptoms u mention haha!

but enough about that! lemme go thruuuuu

some of my thoughts/hcs on luke's illness

wc: 1.7k

before i start, this is whole thing is going to be mixing fiction (tot's story) and fact (IRL information on certain illnesses, medications, etc). the fiction bit is important because while tot describes luke's condition and shows us its effects, does Not name what it is, and the whole thing is still shrouded in a lot of mystery. but the fact bit is important because there are real conditions out there that are similar to what luke has, based on what we know.

among them, Fibromyalgia seems like the closest real world condition to what luke has got, but since it's not outright stated in canon, i'll be making some stuff up. still, it's important to me to have like, a somewhat sensible system in making stuff up, which is why im laying down all this ground work jhvjdhsfd, and because in the hc portion of this post i'll be riffing off of some of my own experience

anyhoo, let's REALLY start with what we already Know

what we know of luke's illness thus far from all the available story information from the global server

key words in that above title are "global server", because im aware that main story episode 9 in the cn server looks like it'll give us more info on this, but i dont like to or want to spoil myself for tot's future main story. so i'll be working within global server parameters!

so heres everything we know (...or rather, what i was able to remember in the course of me writing this response HAHA), as its been outright said and confirmed in canon:

luke's condition is currently diagnosed as terminal

luke's condition mostly manifests in sudden pain episodes that happen randomly and without warning. these pain episodes are not described to be coming from any specific body part, just that it's pain in general.

these pain episodes happen without any external trigger (i.e. luke doesnt have a pain episode when somebody bumps into him suddenly, but he can have a pain episode out of nowhere just doing something as passive as sitting or standing)

immediately after a pain episode, he takes his meds

these meds are analgesics (painkillers) and he was prescribed them by his previous doctor (the one who was handling luke and his condition before aaron)

even now that aaron has taken over as luke's primary physician, luke still takes painkillers immediately after any pain episode to manage the pain

luke's condition was caused by the NXX drug. after a mission where his team was attacked with toxic gas, he was the only survivor and the medicine he was given was somehow contaminated with the NXX substance

the NXX drug causes damage to the central nervous system, and luke's condition is confirmed to be related to his nervous system because in SSR Under The Milky Way, he describes his condition very specifically with the lines "[The contaminant] caused irreversible damage to my nervous system." and "[I] will constantly suffer from intermittent nerve pain."

hcs on The Experience Of The Condition

the main physical symptom we see in canon is pretty clear: sudden and randomly occurring debilitating pain. i like to think it's of the stinging variety!! but dialed up to 10000000 because it's always shown to be intense enough that always luke reacts to the pain. and luke's pain tolerance is High. in personal story 4, he didnt even flinch when mc was stitching up his gash, but he did double over in pain, trembling and shaking, when he got hit with one of the pain episodes.

in addition to the pain though, i totally second the motion on the symptoms of numbness, tingling, loss of muscle strength (which then leads him to train more to compensate for any loss, because luke is a madman with low self worth and one of his skills is his physical strength so he needs to keep that up for as long as he can), and suddenly dropping stuff, the ones you mention. a

those are my thoughts on possible physical symptoms. but with a condition as heavy as this, there will be psychological/emotional ramifications too

because of how tot's canon shows luke experiencing the Pain Symptom, the pain itself is put front and center. but personally i also think that the fact this symptom occurs Randomly, Suddenly, and Without Warning is on the same level of "oh god why this" as the pain

in general, not being able to know when your body is going to start working against you really really sucks! you cant prevent it, you cant avoid it, and you cant see it coming. sure you Can prepare for its random eventuality through out the day, which is what luke does by carrying around his painkillers everywhere with him, but even then, that only alleviates the specific instance currently happening and not the overall trend of It'll Happen Again! When? Secret....

it's hugely frustrating. in my case with involuntary movement, eventually i tried to constantly and impossibly try to expect it so that when it does happen, i dont knock over glass to the floor or fall down the stairs

but always trying to expect something you cant predict causes tension and anxiety.

luke's condition is much more severe and painful than my quirk. so keeping a mental background program, so to speak, always running and looking out for a pain episode of his condition must suck bigtime.

because he'll basically always be bracing himself for pain, even when nothing is happening.

and on a metaphorical level, being constantly braced for pain even when things are fine is something luke does A Lot. luke is always worried and preparing for worst case scenarios, luke is always trying to think ahead to have various backup plans to ensure people's safety, and luke seems more used to pain and bad things than he is prepared for happiness and good things.

bracing himself for pain gives luke a semblance of control over something that is terrifyingly out of his control completely. at least if hes always thinking about its inevitability, he'll have things that can help mediate its effects. but the price for that control is a constant tension and dread building inside of him every second, because hes always waiting for the other shoe to drop

my ideal hope for luke's story when a kind of treatment for his condition is found

i dont actually want for the condition to be completely cured. like, dont get me wrong, i obviously want the Terminal aspect of his condition treated because i love him and want him to live a long and happy life, but i dont want all of his symptoms gone. personally, i'd find it much more compelling narratively if his condition is treated and will no longer kill him in a few years, but still causes him pain that needs to be managed with meds and other treatments. and why i want this is because:

1 ) given the sheer struggle of his condition in the story thus far AND the fact that luke himself literally said the damage done to his nervous system is Irreversible, having a medical miracle like that happen feels a teensy bit like a deus ex machina to me. (sidenote: ofc, ur free to disagree with me! and feel free to disagree with this whole post in general, we've all got different opinions and thats chill)

2 ) in general with stories, i am less drawn to super neat resolutions and im more drawn to resolutions that are more like "and things werent perfect and they never will be, there will always be problems, but our characters will be okay and theyll keep getting better and better, and it's in this push and pull of struggle and learning and progress and getting through where their happiness lies"

ever since luke was a kid, even before he developed his condition, hes had the fear of being a burden to his loved ones. and when he does get his terminal condition, this fear is worsened and he starts to see his existence in other people's lives as a whole as a burden of pain and grief that isnt worth the trouble. and...i dunno, i just like the idea of him continuing to live but also continuing to have these problems that still spark fear inside of him and still take so much work to manage every day. and out of habit, he braces himself for pain, not just for the kind his condition gives him but from Life because Surely, His Loved Ones Will Get Tired Of All Of This, Of Him and The Problems He Comes With, Right?

but surprise surprise, they dont. because they care about him. because this should not and is not a dealbreaker for them continuing to care about him.

aaron creates treatment thats more on the preventative maintenance meds angle so luke doesnt have to just wait for a pain episode to pop up and then dry swallow painkillers every time. it's not infallible , but sometimes luke can have hours, even a whole a day sometimes where the pain hes bracing himself for doesnt come.

mc always reminds luke to take his meds whenever luke gets too busy or caught up in a case. he worries at first that it's an inconvenience to her for her to have to remember his routines for him just in case, but that worry becomes quieter as luke realizes she reminds him in the same tone as she says "good morning" or "have you had lunch yet? wanna join me?", just this casual and loving thing thats now integrated into both their lives

the team are always ready to help too in their own way. when luke gets a pain episode in hq, marius offers distraction in the form of idle chatter on (harmless) internal pax gossip while luke waits for his painkillers to dull down the stinging. when luke feels uncomfortable tingling crawling across his whole body while out with vyn, vyn subtly helps luke move from a crowded area to a quieter one where outside stimuli cant further overwhelm luke's senses. when it's a bad grip strength day and all luke wants to do is punch something and fuck his useless hands up even more, artem tells luke about custom silicone grips that exist for things like pens or knives or such and that they could look for some next time they go shopping.

it is not perfect. but luke's life, even with the pain, is still worth living. everybody is trying to help and eventually, luke learns how to start helping him self along with them too.

Ranking ToT boy on how slutty they are

And once again I let intrusive thoughts win, and since I don't want to suffer alone i will share it with the world... because everybody need to hear this 🙂👍

So before the I start I would like to say this is a joke, I will try to use only official parts of story to create the ranking, and also spoilers, i guess, with that said lets find out which ToT boy is the biggest thot.

4. Luke Pearce

And in last place we have Luke, you may be wondering "why is he in such low position? There is some horny stuff about him" and yes there is some cards from the game which are very suggestive, but most of thoses are Rosa taking the "Initiative", like in the cards "Overflowing Thoughts" or "How I Remember You", and had moments where he was the one taking initiative like in he's card from the Bakerlon Street event or the card from 2nd anniversary of game, but still, compared to the others characters he is kinda bland, he is a very sweet, cuddly boy, and we still love him anyway

3. Marius Von Hagen

I went back and forth a lot about who should be in this position, and I end up choosing Marius. Marius is a thirst trap guy, like in "Dream of Thebes" or "Eternal Flame", he also have the fuckboy personality, but not in a bad way, he overflows charm, so why is he only in 3th place, and the reason is simple, Marius is a boy with lots of potencial of becoming the biggest whore, but he is yet to blossom, he is an investment, you can see he trying to keep up the playboy persona, and we can appreciate that, because suit him well

2. Artem Wing

Some of you may not agree with me in this one, but this is my list I do what I want.

So why is Artem in 2nd place? Let me put in this way, if Marius is thirst trap guy, is because he is trying to be sexy, and Artem, my friends, he doesnt need to try, he just is that sexy. God, the moment we first see him in the game is a thirst trap, and the game do this so much with him, where he is put in the most sluttiest poses, and just make him so unaware of it, I mean, at least until this man discovers what sex is, because after this man lost his virginity, he started actively being a whore. I just keep think about that one card (idk the name, sorry) where he is says he has been practicing making a cool poses for Rosa, this man was practicing how to be a seducer, not that he need it, but he accepted that side of him, which is nice, and lets not forget the unholy amount of butt we see in his card, like in "Wings of Exhilaration", this man deserves the 2nd place.

1. Vyn Ritcher

Honestly, I wanted to pretend this choice was hard, but it wasn't, there was no way any other character could be first, when competing with a horny bastard like Vyn. Unlike Artem who is oblivious to how sexy he is, Vyn is very well aware of it, not only that he knows how to light up the desire in others for him, this man has an ungodly amount of rizz, and we can see that in the main story, and his solo story, not only with Rosa, but with literally anyone, he is constantly using his charm to get what he wants, and he does is beautifully, differently of other characters that tend to be in suggestive situations to be slutty, he doesnt. And when it come to the more smutty stuff, we can see a kinda of different side of him, like I keep thinking this one card, if im not mistaken is his 3rd birthday card, where Rosa tied his hands behind his back with tie while he is on his knees and she is undressing him, and Vyn relentlessly tease her, even a submissive position, he still in control of the situation. That ladies and gentleman is top tier slut behavior, and dont get me started in the tot 2nd anniversary card, so yeah, this is why he is first place.

This is all, it was kinda funny writing it, maybe i will do some other raking thing, who knows. And please dont kill me it this was just a joke.

Ok I just finished the prologue for Ikemen prince and now I’m telling what I think of each character so far.

Leo: He’s cool. I have no grudge against him. But I don’t like his name.

Chevalier: I don’t like him. Seems like a bitch.

Yves: I get that he’s a prince but he needs a manner lesson

Nokto: he’s ok, I think. So far at least

Licht: I relate to him.

It’s been so long since I’ve been on here and I’m trying to get back into the rhythm of writing but I have mocks coming up so I’m not sure when I can actually start working on things longterm. I will be trying my best. In the meantime, I’m about to go into a rant on HOTD and the fan base. Specifically towards the die-hard black supporters who seem hell-bent on justifying every little war crime they do.

To be clear I DONT SUPPORT THE BLACKS OR THE GREENS. SO I WILL BE TRYING TO REMAIN AS UNBIASED AS POSSIBLE WITHOUT LETTING MORALS GET IN THE WAY TOO MUCH.

Both sides do horrible things during the war and you can argue that one side has a stronger claim than the other all you want. The lesser of two evils if you will.

But that’s all objectively viewing things.

I’ve read the books and though unreliable I know the main points that will be coming in the next seasons of the show. I will warn you now THERE WILL BE SPOILERS.

My first point is who should be on the Iron Throne. An extremely controversial topic. Personally I don’t think anyone in the show would be a good ruler, barring Jace perhaps. This includes Rhaenyra, Aegon, Aemond and Daemon. You name it.

I don’t think I need to explain with Aegon. He’s not suited, he lacks the ability to handle that stress. Not to mention horrendous actions towards women.

Aemond, now this is my speculation as he is my favourite character (Yes, even with Luke and all), would be good in politics and tradition. He’s smart, a warrior and respects religion however he would not be able to connect with the smallfolk in my opening so while to the higher ups he’d probably be great, he probably wouldn’t be very well liked by the people.

Now Rhaenyra, I’ll give some examples because this might be the most gruesome part for the die-hard black fans to read, if they haven’t already stopped when I mentioned Rhaenyra before (this might be a bit controversial I know). Rhaenyra was welcomed when she took the throne but it didn’t last. She understands politics to a degree but she has serious entitlement issues.

For example: She taxed the fuck out of the smallfolk and while they were starving in the streets what was she doing? Throwing feasts to celebrate her crowning and her child being named Prince of Dragonstone. You can imagine how scorned they must have felt, Rhaenyra was practically rubbing it in their faces. Not to mention there is a war going on.

Instead of ensuring her victory and place on the Iron Throne she let her vengeful streak take over. She had anyone she thought to be a traitor hung or beheaded and their corpses littered around and outside the Red Keep further estranging the smallfolk who, as Mysaria so beautifully put it give the crown their power.

But here’s the thing Rhaenyra doesn’t care about the smallfolk, it’s implied that she believed that to be beneath her and it does show. She stayed away in Dragonstone when she should’ve been securing her claim. Her absence could have allowed the Lords to change allegiances as well (of course not the Starks).

Not to mention the rumours that Rhaenyra had something to do with Halaena’s death. This may be wrong, Helaena could have thrown herself from the Red Keep, but it cannot be deemed until the show gets to that point.

I like Rhaenyra’s character, I understand why she does a lot of what she does but I will not condone them. I won’t justify them either, nor will I with Aegon, Aemond or Daemon.

Now my first instance. Rhaenys and the Dragonpit. This was not by any means a ‘Girl Boss’ moment. It looks cool and I love how it was done but it really goes to say something about Targaryen entitlement.

Rhaenys burst through the ground killing probably thousands of the smallfolk, roaring at her enemies with Meleys and then flying away. The Dragonpit has other entrances she could’ve gotten out another way and given Rhaenyra a heads up without revealing that she had escaped.

We see this entitlement when Aemond chases Lucerys and accidentally kills Lucerys. It was SO STUPID. Aemond thought that he could control Vhagar because he’s a Targaryen and look how that ended up. I say accident because it was but that doesn’t change anything Lucerys is still dead and know he’s going to have to deal with the fallout.

Blood and Cheese, the amount of people I have seen cheering this like saying ‘It was completely justified’ is astronomical. I can’t help but think about whether or not you should be in a mental hospital if you think the same thing.

In what realm of possibility does a Toddler, probably around 6, deserve to die? I would like someone to answer that question if they believe that he should’ve died in the way that he did. Because by saying it’s justified you’re saying that they deserved to die. These are the same people who will love the ‘A child shouldn’t pay for the sins of their parents’ trope but as soon as it suits their favourite characters it’s completely okay and great to watch. Now you may say, Rhaenyra had nothing to do with it. Which may be true in the books but the show is canon so only time will tell and as far as the books are concerned Rhaenyra had little remorse for what had happened.

This isn’t to say that Lucerys deserved to die because he absolutely didn’t. He deserved to be punished about the eye and Aemond as well about the comments (though I would argue that an eye is a lot more than enough of a punishment) but he did not deserve to die and while Aemond is one of my favourites and I don’t like/dislike Luke, I am going to miss him in the coming seasons because he was a very kind person and I would love to see how he’d progress in the Dance of the Dragons.

Daemon is not a good guy or grey character. He killed his first wife, an innocent, and choked Rhaenyra. He has affection for his family but it doesn’t stop him from doing cruel things. You don’t need to justify his actions, he’s there to make you think about your own morals. He’s not meant to make you feel comfortable when you see what he does. He’s there so that you can question his actions and his reasoning behind them. He’s a fascinating character to watch and my second favourite in the show. This also applies to Aemond btw but I think he’s a little more on the unhinged side compared to Daemon.

Now I think my final point will be that Rhaenyra is not a feminist. She could not care less what happens to other women as long as she is treated equally or better than men because of her position in the world. She’s not going out of her way to help people, she’s using her position to get one over on anyone she doesn’t like. She’s not like Daenerys, she doesn’t care about people who are suffering unless they are very close to her. The same also goes for Alicent but she leans more towards the religion aspect of it.

What would have happened if MC died in the blue unknown place idk the name of?

There's no Lilith to recover her from the dead, shes kinda still a human.

Sorry I left this in my inbox for so long 💜anon. I actually hadn't read that lesson yet by the time you sent it, and I remember rushing to read it because of this ask, but then I just didn't reply. . .big oops. And thank you so much for such kind words!

Obviously, because it's a game, they can't leave MC for dead. I have a couple thoughts on this.

Solomon would absolutely lose his shit if MC dies. At that point in the game, he's probably the character who adores MC the most. I don't think he could mentally accept MC dying, so he has to do something.

If MC died, and their soul was capable of being harvested (because who knows what weird rules the Fountain of Knowledge has over it), Thirteen would take MC's soul right then and there. Her affection for MC combined with the desperation of Solomon and the others might persuade her to keep MC's soul safe while they try to figure out how to bring MC back to life. Solomon is determined to find a way (and to a slightly lesser degree, the brothers are too).

Furthermore, as shady and mysterious as Nightbringer is, I don't think he would put MC on a path that would kill them, especially not before he gets his way, so there's got to be a way to revive them. Solomon is certain of that much. (also, are we all okay with the potential that Nightbringer is Barbatos?)

Ultimately, I think it would shake out a few ways. The first two kind of lean towards a deus ex machina resolution: either Michael steps in and has the power to save MC (similar to what he did with the waking them from the coma in lesson 13) or Nightbringer has enough power either course-correct time and fate because he miscalculated or his intention was to kill MC and bring them back to life - assuming he has that power available to him somehow (some ancient spell lost to time, probably).

The other way is that the Fountain of Knowledge isn't human made, so Solomon still can't reverse the curse affecting MC on his own. However, the game is always bringing up not intervening with humans and the balance between the 3 realms, so what better way to resolve the issue than for all three realms to intervene in the life of one human? I think that means one representative of each realm needs to step in.

Solomon will obviously be there to represent the human realm. I think because (obey me original game spoilers) Simeon falls in the present timeline, he's the least risky candidate to be involved with something like this, so Solomon would ensure that Simeon took on the task (I think Luke would offer if he knew an angel was necessary and that it was the only way to save MC). Additionally, Simeon is stronger than Luke, so that helps. The demons would probably all be fighting to be the one to save MC. (And Diavolo may be as underhanded as to mention that fallen angels might not count as representatives of the demon realm - which would just be a messy argument. Meanwhile, Barbatos and Mephisto don't want Diavolo to do something so reckless).

I think Solomon would ask Barbatos to do it. For one, the pact makes it so that he can force Barbatos's hand. Second, Solomon won't risk MC over a technicality (fallen angel vs natural demon), so he won't ask Asmo to do it - and he sure as hell won't let Lucifer do it. Third, Barbatos showed him the Fountain of Knowledge when he was younger. In a way, he feels like Barbatos is slightly to blame, and Solomon wants him to take some responsibility. Thirteen may also have to get involved because she's a reaper.

I don't have any concrete ideas on this, but maybe with the right spell, the right magical item, and magic channeled from all three realms, Thirteen could help force MC soul back into their body and bring them back to life.

Summary: You have been sworn against baseball for years. Even still, some hot shot player named Bo Bichette catches your eye. When your best friend finally convinces you to go to a jays game something you never thought possible, something straight out of a romance novel becomes your life.

Pairing: Bo Bichette x gn!reader

a/n: okay so this is for @bodacious-bichette and @livsglittertasticworld! Will anyone actually read this... i dont know but i wrote it so... I hope you like it and feedback is always welcome!

Baseball was your biggest joy, biggest passion, favorite hobby growing up and to be honest your life, but now your 24 years old and you haven't watched a baseball game since you were probably 15. All baseball is to you now, is a hard reminder that you weren't good enough.

You played baseball your whole childhood and you were good. Really, really good, but when you got to high school you were cut from the high school team. It cut really deep and since then you just hadn't been able to find any happiness in baseball. You couldn't watch it anymore and you couldn't play it anymore, not even for fun.

Since then you had grown up, gotten a job and we're successful and living on your own. There would always be the hurt though from being cut. You didn't think about it all that often anymore but all of those memories resurfaced when your best friend, Luke, called you wanting to go to a baseball game. The jays game to be exact. Growing up the jays had been everything to you. Everyone who knew you would joke that your mood depended on the jays.

So when Luke who had known you forever wanted to go to the game with you, you were hurt. He knew how much you couldn't watch baseball anymore.

"Y/n, please come to the game. It won't be that bad. It's just one game. I even got those seat right beside the dugout. You know the ones where you can look through the netting right into the dugout." Luke pleads.

"Couldn't you go with someone else?" You ask, wondering why suddenly he wants you to go with him so badly.

"I just miss the old days when we used to have season tickets and go with our dads. All I'm asking is one game y/n."

"I won't even know any of the players." That's a lie. You would very occasionally check in on how the jays were doing because as much as you hated it the Toronto blue jays will forever be a part of you and maybe there was one blue jay member you were especially fond of but you would never, ever admit that.

"Don't even try lying to me like that. I know you were hurt when people told you, you weren't good enough but I think for you baseball will always be apart of you. The blue jays still mean enough to you that I believe you still check the scores."

You sigh knowing he's right. "Fine, okay I'll go to this game with you but just this month. And only because your birthday is next week and I don't have a present so consider this one."

"Sure y/n, pick you up Saturday night, yeah?"

"I'll be waiting."

You weren't sure if Saturday could or couldn't come quick enough. You couldn't deny that the prospect of watching a jays game again was exciting but it didn't make you any less nervous for it. All week you had been checking the scores and the jays were on a 5 game win streak heading into Saturday's game.

4 o'clock on Saturday rolled around and Luke was waiting for you outside in his car. You walk up to it wearing the Bichette jersey you had bought yesterday. You convinced yourself it was cause you didn't want to look stupid not wearing any apparel but in truth Bo had caught your eye since the day he came up to the bigs. You almost caved and watched his debut but you forced yourself not too.

At first, after not making the team, you didn't want to watch baseball cause it hurt to much but after that it was more that you wanted to hold a grudge, not that you hated baseball. It was so much easier to pretend you hated it and we're mad than to be sad about the fact you weren't good enough.

"So I see you've got a jersey. I even see its Bichette. Have you been lying to me about hating baseball?" Says Luke, as soon as you get in the car.

" Dumbass, I bought this yesterday."

"Mhm, sure you did."

"Shut up that's the truth."

"What ever you say, y/n."

The rest of the drive is silent and when you get to the rogers centre you can't stop the rush of adrenaline you get just from being there at the park with all the fans. Being back here was almost euphoric. You didn't think you'd ever be back and you would never admit it especially not to Luke but you were so happy he convinced you to come.

"Dude how did you get these seats?" You ask luke, once you're seated. He wasn't kidding he really got the seats right beside the dugout. You were sitting in the seat right beside the netting.

The players are about to go out for warm ups and that's when you catch your first real, in-person glimpse of Mr.Bo Bichette. You suck in a deep breath trying to catch your breath.

"Oh do you like bobo?" Luke laughs.

"No, shut up." You respond.

"I don't believe you." You sigh knowing you won't win this argument.

"Fine, he's hot. There is admit it. Now will, you stop."

"Sure y/n. Whatever you want." And so the game starts. You get very invested. You missed this. You missed the atmosphere of the sky dome but mostly you just missed baseball and your jays.

The game was going good and half way through the 5th you feel a pair of eyes on you. You turn to your side prepared to tell the fan sitting next to you you stop staring when you remember you aren't sitting next to anyone.

You turn around and are looking straight into Bo Bichette's beautiful eyes. When your eyes meet he doesn't look away. He just holds the contact. In the end your the one to break it. It just begins to be too much. You feel your cheeks heat up and you have to look away.

You turn back to the game hoping Luke didn't notice that moment between you and Bo. Judging by the huge grin on his face though, he definitely did.

"Not regretting coming to the game now huh?" Luke teases.

"We looked at each other for a second. It was nothing."

"A second? Bullshit y/n! That was at least 10 seconds." He exclaims.

"Well whatever, it's not like anything stupid gonna come from it."

"You never know." He says, and you just roll your eyes.

The rest of the game goes well. The jays win 6-4. At the end of the game when all of the players are walking off the field you see vladdy nudge Bo and point towards what looks like your direction. Bo shrugs his shoulders back.

You are getting up from your seat and about to follow Luke up the stairs when you hear someone call out to the person in the Bichette. It's a familiar voice. You turn around and you see Bo motioning you over. You stand there suddenly frozen to the spot. It isn't until Luke almost pushes you down the stairs that you regain your ability to walk.

"Hi I'm Bo" Bo says.

"Yeah I uh kinda know that already."

Bo chuckles than answers "so I was wondering if I could get your name?"

"Umm yeah, it's y/n."

"That's a pretty name." You smile at Bo shyly.

"Thank you."

"I was wondering if maybe I could grab your number."

"Oh um what? You want my number? Why?"

"I don't know. You seemed super into baseball and your super beautiful so I thought maybe I could uh call you and we could do something together. You know get to know ow each other. A date maybe?"

"Oh um yes of course." You grab a piece of paper and a pen from your bag and quickly scribble down your number. You are fully aware you are probably smiling like an idiot but you could care less. Bo Bichette just asked you on a date (sorta).

You hand it to him and in turn he hands you his cap. You look at his confused.

"Just keep. I'll be back to get it eventually." He smirks, you realise this is his way of saying I will for sure see you again.

For the last 9 years baseball has been a reminder of something you weren't good enough for. Now it's brought you someone special.

Today you began to make peace with baseball.
