Thinking about why spinner has his forearms covered (I am ignoring Stain's influence)

(drabble under the cut)

CW: description of scars

The league was on the run and being around each other all the time meant they saw each other outside of their villain personas. Toga wore large sweaters and kept her hair pulled back - in braids, hair ties, pigtails, pinned - it didn't matter so long as it stayed out of her face. It wasn't uncommon to see Twice with his mask off but it never lasted long. Mr. Compress kept his face covered still - in a face mask or bandana and a hat - whatever was convenient. Dabi flitted in and out, hardly staying in one place for long. When he did, it was usually with a smoke and sans jacket. Spinner still seemed on edge and standoffish, with a long sleeved shirt or jacket on - different from his sleeveless Stain inspired shirt. Shigaraki was the same as always. He had no need to don a villain persona and his hands were as close as always.

Tapping away on a hand held game console, a game over screen flashed. Huffing out a breath, movement caught Shigaraki's eye. Glancing up, he saw Spinner pushing up his sleeves. Looking back down at his game, Shigaraki paused. He knew what those were. Shigaraki looked up through his eyelashes. Scars littered Spinner's forearms, crossing over one another in sporadic multitudes. Raised bumps, pale skin, scales missing, divets and uneven gashes. Some of them looked old - pale and barely there - others looked healed, but still stretching skin unevenly and brighter, not quite settled in the skin. Raising his eyes to briefly look at Spinner's relaxed face, Shigaraki put his attention back on his console. He stared at the screen. He measured the time it blinked the game over - flash flash flash. He thought. Dabi's scars had an obvious cause, it wasn't hard to guess how and why they covered so much of his body. A single cause with irritation from improper care and overuse. He himself was intimately familiar with his own. Shigaraki furrowed his eyebrows. He knew what skin biopsies looked like, various weapons and wounds, burns and impalements, and how they healed from his time around Nomus. He knew what old scars looked like, what new ones did, and how they overlapped on the skin. He scratched his neck, the uneven surface causing his nails to catch awkwardly as he pulled across. He glanced back up. Spinner had scars that looked like biopsies, but with rough edges from unsure cuts and ripped chunks from scales that never grew back. Scars that ripped up edges of nearby scales without dislodging them. Patches of skin that Shigaraki supposed lied covered underneath all Spinner's scales. Various ages and depths telling a story, a story that Spinner kept hidden and quiet. Clicking the restart button, Shigaraki narrowed his eyes. One day, he'd get that story from him.

dude I was gonna make a joke about how they really took everyone's lips and fused them for Rikido Sato's but honestly can't even do that cause the character designs like his just always give me the ick. I know it's a recurring thing in anime but even him being pale doesn't erase the Jim Crow Sambo-ness of the design. 🫤

missed chance in mha to show the trials and tribulations of the remedial course group just for Bakugo and Todoroki to immediately get charged with vigilantism because they decimated a guy just a few hours before the licensing paperwork was fully processed

#i demand a filler episode where its just a court case #inko is the lawyer and she treats it like a hobby because shes got so much free time #but rest assured she has fifteen awards stuffed under the sofa #and then they have to gather a bunch of witnesses to vouch for bakugo and todorokis character #and they put their all into it but its just COMPLETLEY failing to convince the judge and jury that they didnt mean it #bonus points if Aizawa is vouching for them too #and hes like these kids didnt mean it theyre top students they would never and everyone is like oh wow okay maybe youre right #but then the prosecution lawyer comes up to ask him some follow up questions and hes like #‘nice story by the way didnt you collude with vigilantes numerous times throughout your career?’#and aizawa is like FUCK because he knew this would happen #lawyer proceeds to show images of vigilantes blatantly being vigilantes and Aizawa just chilling next to them or even worse being friendly #then maybe the judge pulls up evidence but literally neither of them can explain it cuz turns out camie created a bunch of bs illusions #but hey you dont see her in the stands sooo #also the entire time Bakugo is trying to throw todoroki under the bus for the entire thing and Todoroki indirectly helps him #but because his dad is endeavor and also The Universe it just ends up backfiring on Bakugo #also endgame bakudeku idk how but itll happen #bakudeku undercurrents the ENTIRE time #thank you thats all #mha #mha fic #bnha fic #mha bakugou #mha todoroki

i dont know you closely, but you seem like the "will shit on fandom and create my own space" and gatekeep/pos characters just bc wont write them right-/lh (and as a black writer who commonly gives characters more background and love than the writers do....i feel that)

LMFAOOO it's actually really funny that you say this bc I kinda am!💀

A lot times I like to ignore canon, especially plot wise. When I write I mostly detach from the canon plot/what's happening in canon and just take the character and put them into whatever the concept is. Ofc I always try my best to make sure the character isn't ooc, and if I do make them that way it's usually in a sense of "this character is acting lovey dovey in this fic, but canonically, they probably wouldn't act like this" or something like that

And for fandom I don't usually indulge too much in collective fandom hcs like that besides a few (Hispanic sero, stoner sero, blasian Izuku, black Mina [also bc I just like imagining my fav characters as black💀 but mina is always black to me idc], etc.). I like to make my own based on my personal interpretations of characters. I do find certain hcs interesting and good (Ex. Deaf/hard of hearing bakugo) but still don't indulge too much or put them in my fics.

I also don't do the heavy analysis' a lot of ppl like to do, I like to see others do it sometimes buttttt that's also something I don't deep dive into unless it's a major plot point or something (Ex. Bakugo bullying izuku)

How To Not Welcome The New Years (MHA)

W: Everyone is Aged Up (18+), Cheating, Angst, Hurt/Injured, No One Is a Good Person Including the Reader, (C: Bakugou, Shinso, Monoma, Kirishima, Aizawa, and Hawks)

Bakugou

He was always too busy for the smallest of things.

He was too busy to set up a date night.

He was always too busy.

He had no problem doing the interviews he hated but he had an issue if you asked him to go to bed with you if you wanted some affection.

Your relationship was wilting away right under him and he seemed to not care.

You checked out of it already. You were ready for him to end things soon since he didn't bother to get you a present for Christmas and he didn't even come home for the holiday either.

He didn't even bother to open them once he got home and instead went to his office to finish up some reports.

You thought that maybe he would try to put in an effort for New Year's.

His agency always hosts a party for the sidekicks and you, delusionally, thought he would take you.

He left you behind at home to greet the new year.

You called him.

He surprised you when he picked up. In the background, you could hear his friends talking.

Maybe once upon a time, it would hurt that he was prioritizing his friends but you were numb. It no longer mattered.

"What do you need Y/n?" He was annoyed. Maybe it was at you. Maybe it was because of how loud his friends were being. Kirishima could be heard in the background talking about some trip he had planned for after New Year's.

You dont remember the last time he ever took you on a vacation.

"I'm breaking up with you. I'll be out by tonight." You're to the point. There was no reason for you to prolong it.

He fell out of love and you were done with being in love with someone who didn't see you as worth spending his time on.

"W-what?! What are you talking about?"

"Bye Bakugou." You ended the call and began packing.

Your phone kept ringing as you packet. You turned it off after the 5th call.

You had an apartment already. You had it just in case you ended the relationship earlier.

You welcomed the new year alone and walking down the busy and joy-filled streets of Japan, bags in hand and phone turned off.

Shinso

He was so sweet when you both started dating.

He was attentive and patient with you. Never did he raise his voice even when you were in the wrong.

He coddled you and that was something you didn't mind too much as your relationship progressed.

It felt nice to be wanted and to be looked after but it began to change as you both got older and entered your respective careers.

He started snapping at you.

He was angry. He reminded you of Bakugou but he lacked the ego.

The once loving and comforting Shinso was now a brut who came home to get upset with you.

He yelled, he cried. He was frustrated beyond belief. He repeated as much to you.

"You wouldn't understand just how hard my job is." doesn't matter if you worked the same job or not, he always made you feel like you were not as hard-working or as overworked as him.

For the holidays he didn't bother to put on a happy face when you visited your family. He started arguing that you should have gone to his family for the holidays.

For New Years you had hoped he would've appreciated the reservation you made at his favorite restaurant.

You dressed up and made sure to make yourself look and feel good. You liked having an excuse to dress up, try something new, and see what might make him happy.

You both agreed to meet at the restaurant since he was out working.

And when you got there he was in his hero uniform instead of the suit he had said he was going to change into at the agency he worked at.

He was sweaty and dirty, and his hair had stuck to his forehead.

"Shinso, you said that-" You were cut off as he slammed his hand against the table, the drinks that had been set spilling onto the table and onto the floor.

"For fuck sake, Y/n. I just got off of work. Can I please relax?" He snapped at you.

You started the New Year crying. He kept muttering to himself about how upsetting it was that he couldn't eat in peace.

Monoma

He was gentlemanly with you. Always opening the door for you, taking his jacket/hoodie/coat off so you could wear it even if it means that he'd be cold.

He was always attentive even if he was self-centered at times.

As he entered his career he was bombarded with work all at once. He never had a moment for you and when he got home he would say he was tired.

You thought that maybe for the Holidays he would get a break but that wasn’t the case. He was working late, barely answering his phone and sleeping at the agency just so he could finish paperwork.

He told you that he would take you to the agency’s New Year’s party.

You were enjoying the music and the drinks, speaking to his friends and your friends when you realized he wasn’t by your side anymore.

You looked for him and in a hallway you found him kissing with someone who you knew to be a sidekick.

“Monoma” You didn’t know what to say or do. He jumped and pushed the sidekick away before trying to get close to you.

“Y/n! W-Wait! Let me explain. This is all a big misunderstanding!” He tried explaining but you were already walking away. He went back to the party and couldn’t find you anywhere.

No one knew where you were and he couldn’t get a hold of you. He started panicking thinking that you might have gotten hurt or worse.

Kirishima

Kirishima didn’t know when to quit and that was the reason why you loved him so much.

He was always trying to push himself to do things that he might fear for the sake of someone else.

He was scared to ask you out and when he managed to get the word with he couldn’t help let out a cheer when you accepted to date him.

Once he started his pro-hero career it took a lot out of him. Physically and mentally.

He was constantly getting injured and every time you had come to the hospital not knowing how or why he got hurt.

There were times when he nearly died and it left you distraught. You never knew when it would be the last time you’d see him.

And he refused to tell you what he was doing or how hurt he was.

New Year's was no different.

He was hurt and bleeding out after fighting a villain. He was rushed to the hospital and when you arrived to check up on him he snapped at you when you began asking him what happened.

You had spent so long telling him that you wanted him to stop taking so many risks. His health and life were on the line and he truly didn’t need to be making brash decisions.

"Y/n, if I don't do this who will?" He was frustrated and you understood that but you also dreaded someday not having the chance to see him again.

"Eijiro, please-"

"Y/n, stop. Just please stop." He doesn't want to hear you complain and he asks you to leave.

He hears the fireworks outside his hospital room.

Aizawa

He's always stressed out and that's how you met him.

He was feeding strays on his patrol and he saw you doing the same.

You started dating and it didn't bother you at all that he was absent often since he worked at UA and as an underground hero.

He made an effort to be there for the holidays but even if he couldn't be there he would make sure to tell you in advance.

The only issue with this was that he prioritized work and solitude more than being around people.

You could understand that he wanted to have his breaks in peace but it also meant that he would push you away.

It started bothering you after a while. You told him that you'd like to spend more time with him and he agreed that he could try but nothing changed.

UA decided to host a New Year's party for the teachers and students.

Aizawa went, not bothering to tell you, and when you tried getting a hold of him he didn't answer his phone.

You got into an argument when he came back.

"Why didn't you tell me you were going to the party? I could have joined you." You felt hurt.

"I only went to keep the peace. Hizashi made me go."

"And you could have brought me so I could meet your coworkers."

"Stop it. Im tired and want to sleep, Y/n." He cut you off.

He went to bed leaving you to sleep on the couch as you watched the news broadcasters celebrate the new year.

Hawks

He played the role of an attentive boyfriend well.

He felt something for you, he knew it was something positive but he didn't know if he could define it as love.

He was always good at pretending so it didn't hurt to try and be your boyfriend.

It was a new relationship and he liked the affection he got from you. it was nice.

He felt appreciated in a way he hadn't been before.

Your touch, your kisses, your hugs. It was warm and inviting.

It all came crashing during the New Year party the hero commissioned hosted for all ranked heroes.

He was getting pictures with fans, talking with possible investors for his agency, talking with heroes, and all while ignoring you.

You understood he had his priorities on his agency but ever since you two started dating, it felt like he wasn't really invested in the relationship. Like something was missing from it.

When the countdown began, you tried getting him to join you out on the balcony. You wanted to greet the new year with him but he wouldn't budge.

"Give me a second." He said before making his way over to Endeavor and Jeanist.

The clock hit midnight and everyone cheered as they congratulated each other.

Hawks didn't go back to you at all. You left the party without telling him anything and just went back to your apartment.

He didn't notice you were gone until they started clearing the space and the cleaning crew started cleaning up.

He looked for you and when he couldn't find you he tried calling.

You never answer him and so he left to search for you before leaving you a last text and heading home.

- i feel like bakugo would really love cuddles but would hate to verbally ask. so he just comes up to you and stares at you until you get the message that he wants to cuddle. and if you don’t get the message, he’ll just stare at you harder then stare at his lap then stare back at you until you finally understand and hold him.

- bakugo is a little spoon, I don’t care what you say or think. he rests his head in your chest and holds your waist while you have your hands buried in his spikey yet soft hair. and if you try get out of his grasp for even a second he’ll look up at you with the most pissed off expression

- he has really sweaty hands which he’s very insecure about. so if you try to reach for his hand, he’ll wipe them against his trousers first before letting you hold them. and if you ever tell him that you don’t care about his sweaty hands and that you actually think it’s cool because of his quirk, he’ll just stare at you then turn away to hide his obvious blush.

- i think bakugos fingers twitch a lot because of his quirk. his hands shake randomly so when you take his hand in yours and kiss it, his eyes blow wide and he looks away while throwing a string of curses at you. he secretly loves when you kiss his hands. if you bring it up tho he’ll deny everything.

- bakugo is more quiet around you than anyone. he finds peace in your presence, so even if you’re just lounging about reading a book, he’s there watching you. keeping his eye on the person he loves most. you could do the most basic thing in the world and he’d be proud of you. he’ll never tell you tho, he’ll never admit how much you mean to him. until one day he does and the rest is history.

I went on a rant on my IG story a few weeks ago and just wanted to share it here cuz i went in depth and got a bit too passionate

EraserMic is probably one of the best things to come out of the show

Its literally the story of the two characters grieving the loss of a close friend and never really healing from it. BUT FUCKING NO

THATS NOT WHAT THE FUCKING FANDOM WANT TO FOCUS ON

THEY WANNA FOCUS ON FUCKINH "dadzawa and mamamic"

FUCKING SHUT UP

THEY REDUCE THESE COMPLEX AND INTERESTING CHARACTERS INTO CARICATURES AND OVER EXAGGERATIONS OF ONE ASPECT OF THEYRE PERSONALITY

AIZAWA

bros legit a dude that would sacrifice everything for the sake of other people

his self destructive behaviors are stated multiple time in the show and in vigilantes

he does not view himself as something that is important

he views himself as simply a tool for the betterment of other people

thats why hes a teacher

he literally doesnt own any personal items

all he has in his fucking apartment is his sleeping bag

he doesn't allow himself to get sentimental

after oboros death he became closed off and didn't allow himself to work though what happened

the only thing he focused was training

even to the point of ignoring his physical needs

he doesn't let himself get attached

he doesn't even open when mic tries to reach out to him

He was the first person to suggest that there was a traitor in UA

He is the one that takes care of aizawa when hes drunk (i love the fact thats literally canon omfg)

Hes the one people see but dont notice

Present Mic is literally a Caricature of what he wants to be for people - easy and outgoing

THEY ALWAYS MAKE HIM THE PAPAMIC SHIT THAT I SEE OVER AND FUCKING OVER AGAIN

IT PISSES ME OFF SO FUCKIG. MUCH OMFG

One thing i saw someone point out is how you can tell when he is hizashi and when he is mic

When hes Hizashi - his eyes are visible

When hes Mic - all you can see are his glasses

Hizashi doesn't cope with the death of Oboro either. He never focuses on himself

He is always focused on what Aizawa feels. Which is why this shit is favorite

Its the fucking dysfunctionality of it

Hizashi never deal with his shit he just states whats happened.(ex. when midnight died - he just simply stated the obvious without actually confronting the subject at hand)

He is always focused on the others

(Hence, why he never told aizawa that they were actually going for his quirk instead of Oboro)

This is why they both work so well and dont at the same time.

They both use the same ideaology (putting other infront of you no matter what)

but using different methods

for aizawa its focusing on bettering himself to use himself as a tool to improve others

for mic its not focusing on yourself at all and putting all his attention onto others

and also context! so since its canon that afo has s-tier charisma (from ultra analysis), im like okay if thats the case then yoichi 100% charismatic too (but his charm is different than his brothers ofc, since hes not using it to gain followers), he just never got to exert it that much because of his brother gatekeeping him from ppl lol . like if he manages to emotionally sway someone like KUDOU then yes i think he has untapped power when it comes rizzing people up (yea this became one of my fave yoichi hcs) . so the doodles is just kudous resistance members being charmed by yoichi and tripping themselves just to impress him lol

The reader is gender neutral use they/them pronouns

(the reason why they're going to the girl side of the hot springs is because they didn't wanted to be by mineta and you don't wanna be with a lot of people rn)

A/N: so I've been reading @demonlamb666 Class 1a reaction to mineta climbing the bath to see you and the girls naked bodies and I was like "Man I wish they could make a extended version of this" and I realized "If nobody's doing it Fine ill do it!" so here you go!

The class cheered as Aizawa announced that there would be a hot spring to relax in You however didn't you just want to have a summer break and play with your game device all day and laze away luck isn't on your side today now is it

Cmon y/n join our side it'll be fine," Hakagure said while waving her arms around "I don't know guys I don't like the hot springs very much and I'm gonna see y'all naked..." you muttered the last part out in discomfort while clutching your towel but tsu put a comforting hand on your shoulder "we trust you y/n we know your not gonna do anything *kero*""Yea! You not like that disgusting perv like Mineta ur the total opposite!" ochako said the other girls chimed in encouraging you saying it was fun until you made up your mind "Fine fine! I'll join but only for a little the girls cheered and praise you for your braveness

They decided to let you go in 1st so they wouldn't see you and then they decided to go in as well "See isn't it nice y/n" Momo said while giving you a hug "Y/n San feels so warm~" momo thought in her head as the other girls glared jealousy her

the girls and you chatted along while at times splashing each other and giggling at each other's jokes mina brought each ball and decided to play ball-related games like a hot potato, keep the ball in the air, or even volley ball the girls had a little fight over who gets to be in your team but other then that it's been fun unaware that a purple cockroa- I mean teenager plotting a plan

"What I'm here for is beyond the wall," mineta said while holding his towel he then pressed his head up against the wall with a satisfying smile hearing you and the girls chatting and giggling the boys were now focusing on Mineta now confused about what he was gonna do "nowadays, for them not to stranger bathing times for men and women is an accident" mineta continued his speech while the boys were slowly starting to know he was doing "Dont tell me you're.." denki said with a glare while tenya standard up lecturing mineta not to do what he's about to do while Mineta eyes rolling back rolling as he eagerly listen to the other size of the wall (EW EW EWWWW 🤢)

"You're being too fussy" mineta said while reaching for his hair taking a ball out "cause walls.. ARE MEANT RO BE CLIMBED OVER PLUS ULTRA"

And chaos exploded over

"mineta stop what your doing it's wrong!" zuku pleaded while holding him by the ankles "YOU FUCKING BASTARD WHEN I REACH UP TO YOU UR DEAD" katsuki threaten while Shoto created a nice step to help Katsuki get higher Meanwhile Kiri and Denki was fantasizing about what would your body would look like while getting turned on about it while kiri was waiting for katsuki to jump Sero was aiming tape to trying to tie down the grape boy

"What's going on?!" y/n said while hearing the commotion at the other side of the wall "MINETAS TRYING TO CLIMB OVER THE WALL JIROU MOMO COVER Y/N" Shoto yelled while trying to keep Katsuki steady Momo and jirou quickly wrapped you up in their arms while also blushing at the fact that they're touching your warm s/c skin Making the most of it "LET ME GO IM GONNA TOUCH HIM NOT TO MESS WITH OUR LIGHT" black shadow yelled out while trying to come at mineta but tokoyami was holding him back trying to calm him down "DARK SHADOW NO!" As much tokoyami wanted him to do it but he didn't want him to be responsible for him he's focusing on you being safe and sound "LADIES PROTECT Y/N's HONOUR"

"OH IT ON" Mina yelled determined to beat Minets down for your honor, Ochako and Mina nodded to themselves, and while Mina Jumped in the air she slapped ochakos hand to make her float to the top of the wall to drop kick Mineta You stared at the chaos that was in front of you the yelling the screaming honestly it was pretty hilarious to you and you wanted to join in beating Mineta's ass cause why not you wrested out the grip of momo and Jirou and use your telekenies to make yourself float, tsuyu to tried to grab you by using her tongue but you dodge you went and grabbed mina's hand floating her up with you when Mineta made it to the top you both dropped kick him so hard he lost his balance and fell right on top of iida

Safe to say you were praised for your dangerous but badass stunt the girls were all over how amazing that love was and Mina even suggested you be her training partner even iida praised you but still lectured how unsafe that stunt was for the boys (including Bakugo) was shouting how compliments of how badass or manly it was even Aizawa heard about it and praise you for it and also gave mineta 48-hour detection and gave you extra credit all the teachers heard and gave u praises as well and hawks gave you a high five for it they're never living this memory down

Also, the class planned to pay Mineta a visit when they got back to the UA dorms
