to preface this post i am anti-advertising i think we should explode the entire industry but it's sooo funny when you people make posts like "and they don't even work!!" like. sorry to be the bearer of bad news but yes they do. that's why we have to put up with so many despite everyone hating them and thinking its annoying. because they actually work really well and make a shit load of money
#it actually would be way better if they didnt work and made no money bc businesses would abandon them#this isnt like stocks where everythings abstract and is essentially gambling (i dont understand stocks)#like ppl in the ad industry create things. that make a tangible and quantifiable impact on the business#which is then used in further ad planning. it is NOT all smoke and mirrors#like its fake in that the industry is not providing a necessary service the way like. grocery stores are#but its not the level of fake where everything is abstract like theres deliverables#moreover there is an extensive body of academic work specifically on how to make ads more effective#ALSO i think some of u views ads like. as if they have a win condition. which is you buy product#but in current advertising this is pretty rare and comparatively ineffective#which is why you see MANY ads which dont seem to be selling anything in particular. or which have nothing all to do with the product#the 'win' condition for THAT kind of ad is something more like 'viewers remember our name'#like. ex i would say ads for temu have not been effective on me bc i havent bought anything from them#but temu probably thinks they were SUPER effective on me because i talked abt them like 5 different times at work#and i do in fact know exactly what the company does and what they sell#and they were able to capitalize on the reputations of existing companies (wish shein etc) to build their own brand#good idea generator

I wonder if fionna and cake in the upcoming episodes is going to follow up on the fact that Simon, Fionna and Cake are all directly responsible for at least one death in every universe they visited. Like not even as an unintended consequence but directly responsible for at least one per universe.
In the original Ooo both Fionna and Cake assault a lot of people and kill at least that hot dog knight
Farmworld Finn died to the Scarab trying to protect them
Fionna out right killed all those candy people as well as Winter King accidentally
They removed baby finn from the babyworld and left him with no one left alive to care for him in a world populated by vampires
Martin died joining fionna in her attempt to help people to fight her guilt
BMO dies as the last remaining life form besides the lich because they try to charge Prismo‘s remote for them
And after each and every time this happens, they just up and leave the universe and move on to the next as if nothing happened. All of them, even Simon, treat all these other universes like they’re fake and don’t matter as much as their original universes. They dont care what happens to any of these places because theyre not sticking around long enough to see the consequences of their actions. But there are consequences. in some cases they have irreparably altered the universes from what they were before Simon, Fionna and Cake came through them. That hot dog knight is dead now. Farmworld Finn‘s kids don‘t have a parent anymore. Wether you argue removing the Winter King is a net positive or not they also killed all those candy people and drastically altered that universes timeline for better or worse. Baby Finn has been at best permanently displaced from his original universe where he would have been safe, or at worst dead to the elements or vampires or starvation shortly after the episode cuts. And BMO, the lone survivor in post 2nd apocalypse Ooo, is gone forever, leaving the world inhabited by nothing but the Lich.

listen this isn't a productive sentiment and there's a less condescending way to phrase this but as i'm in pain and irritated:
unfortunately for people with ADHD who are obsessed with being oppressed and having a terrible life, some physical illnesses are actually worse than ADHD. some physical illnesses do worse things to your life. and are more disabling.
some physical illnesses just fucking are objectively worse.
like i'm sorry i know it's hard to hear because you hear "some things are worse than ADHD" and interpret it as "ADHD is a fake nonexistent condition for lazy faker babies with no impact on quality of life," and i truly don't know how i can hold your hand about that. like i shouldn't have to stand up with a megaphone screaming n crying to get you to understand that ADHD is absolutely fucking NOT the worst thing that can happen to your brain or body.
and some physical illnesses will get you TREATED worse than people with ADHD are. by the public and your family and doctors alike. particularly if you're fat or a person of color or elderly or, god forbid, several of these things.
and being visibly physically disabled is not a privilege. because people will Still ascribe it to a moral failing or to faking or to being annoying, exactly like they ascribe your ADHD to being a lazy annoying faker. and you cannot turn it off. you are at the mercy of everybody around you. every day you simply need to pray that others are kind, because you are helpless in how you are perceived.
and of course invisible physical disabilities are subject to the same cruel assumptions that people make about ADHD as well (lazy, faker, attention whore, pathetic).
the difference between certain physically disabled people's experiences and the ADHD experience is that the physical disability is worse.
granted, not every physical disability is worse! physical disability and its impact on quality of life is a Vast Spectrum.
but some are worse.
like. they just are. They Just Are.
it is not oppression olympics to say this. it is just a fucking fact.
there can be no solidarity between ADHD people and people with physical disabilities (or other disabilities that make life Much Fucking Harder than ADHD), until people with ADHD stop fucking assuming that ADHD is the worst thing that can happen to a person.
like. i HAVE cripplingly hyperactive ADHD. but i am fucking TIRED of ADHD bloggers n influencers writing thinkpiece essays like "uwu, guys, maybe we should actually be Nice to physically disabled people!! and stop using them as gotchas in our arguments!! i just learned their lives are hard too!! sometimes doctors even belittle and torture them for funsies!! just like us!!"
