1. what book are you currently reading?
already said it in my other tag game post but it's @stjohnstarling's novel the sacred sins of father black! it's the story of a fbi agent in pursuit of a wine forgers gang, who arrives in a small town with a mysterious and morally ambiguous priest 😌
2. what do you usually wear?
most of the time, i'm wearing pretty bland (but comfy) outfits composed of jeans or sweatpants, with t-shirts and sweaters lol. the t-shirts only sometimes happen to be like, bright orange camp half-blood ones i bought on etsy...
i do wear colorful/flowery long skirts from time to time, though!
3. how tall are you?
161cm tall!
4. what’s your star sign? do you share a birthday with a celebrity or historical event?
taurus! my birthday is on may 8th and i literally share it with hiromu arakawa :-)
5. do you go by your name or a nickname?
i go by sam online and by my legal first name irl. my friends use a nickname derivated from the latter!
6. did you grow up to become what you wanted to be as a child?
not really, but, hey, i am still young and learning how to live! i still have time to work towards these goals! <- has been crying because they don't have the art skills they wished they would have when they would be older, while their art student friends have been greatly improving for obvious reasons. the feeling of falling behind is constantly present these days lads.... u_u"
7. what’s something you’re good at vs something you’re bad at?
i think i'm pretty great at reading (fast) and noticing misspellings on other people's texts when tasked with proofreading (yes this is very specific lmao).....also i've been doing my duolingo norwegian lessons daily for almost three months now and i'm amazed by the fact i've managed to stick to this one (1) routine when i usually am not able to keep up with this kind of thing. learning that language has done wonders to my self esteem for some reason WDXSKDHFKS
hmmm i'm bad at relaxing and getting things done. and i'm kind of a shitty sibling :/
8. if you draw/write, or create in any way, what’s your favorite picture/favorite line/favorite etc. from something you created this year?
not from this year but one of my favorite written works is an old fanfiction wip i wrote back in 2019 (i think) and have been re-reading with my friends last week. they ended up binge-reading the manga it's based on thanks to me and... i don't have any specific favorite line but receiving compliments on this piece of writing from them made my day and i am even more proud of it <3
9. dogs or cats?
cats, obviously. my favorite creatures....
10. what’s something you would like to create content for?
i want to draw mob psycho fanart!! but i'm too scared to start, it's really stupid 😭

3rd Day Sojourn
“Looks like we got a smartass here don’t we?”
You felt torn on whether to intervene or not. Chishiya, was by no means a hero or a prince charming. You didn’t need to know him to know he was going to be the last person to save you out of good will. Not like you needed saving regardless but you couldn’t help but wonder what his motive was.
Chishiya still had that cold smirk on his face, as if extremely amused at the furious Niragi you had held him up by the jacket, even face to face he not once had a change in expression, as if he just genuinely didn’t care about whatever Niragi felt.
“Probably because I am smarter than you.” Chishiya lifted his chin a little a devious icy smile on his lips like he was getting a rise out of the way Niragi simmered and growled at him, his hands tightening around his jacket and you were briefly worried if Chishiya didn’t shut up that he was going to be beat into a pulp. No matter how smart he was, he couldn’t outwit his way from getting throat punched. Although...you wouldn’t deny a secret part of you would find that mildly funny. You also wanted to throat punch him on certain occasions.
“I believe that’s enough Niragi.” Everyone paused at the sight of someone new arriving, Ryu had gotten out of the pool to stand next to you and Hiroko as he whispered, “That’s number three, Kuzuryuu. He often keeps everyone in their place when Hatter isn’t around.”
Niragi stuck his tongue as he began to cackle, letting go of Chishiya. Breathing in relief you relaxed a little as everyone did the same. Just within a split second though you could hardly comprehend the sight of Niragi immediately decking Chishiya right across the jaw who was knocked off balance. People were already intervening as you stood there gaping. You didn’t think Niragi would actually punch him.
You had thought Chishiya’s expression would’ve changed but much to your disbelief it was as if he was even more settled into his resolve, grabbing his jaw as a viscous smile appeared on his lips, spitting out blood as he goaded, “So you agree then? Anyone with half a brain would be able to reply instead of resort to violence.”
Did this man really wanna die on his first day in the Beach?
Niragi was pulled away and back to his group with steam practically pouring out of his ears, attempting to get back to Chishiya before he was yanked back by perhaps the most physically intimidating man you had ever seen, “That’s number 2, Agni, the leader of the militant sect.” Hiroko clarified to you but it fell on deaf ears as you hurried over to Chishiya, now feeling immensely bad that regardless of his intentions he was hurt for what? Gloating? Was his ego truly that big, “God are you insane!?” You cried out in a whisper kneeling down, your maternal instincts on overdrive as you grabbed his face immediately checking for any bruising.
Chishiya almost like a cat that didn’t want to be touched pulled away from your grip unappreciative, “I don’t like annoying or stupid people.” He replied immediately, his eyes leering ungratefully, “And he was ruining a perfectly good day for me. If you think I’d care for someone like you then you’re more delusional then you look. Besides it’s just blood, it’ll go stop.”
Ouch.
You rolled your eyes at him deciding to not take his words to heart though a tiny part of you wondered if he only said that due to the conversation you both had last night. Or maybe he just really didn’t care. Regardless it didn’t matter, “He had a fucking rifle!” You whispered angrily, “I get it, we aren’t best friends but I don’t wanna see you get shot you asshole.”
“We aren’t friends at all,” Chishiya replied coolly, his eyes analytical and calculating, his gaze like ice that glared you down as if you were his new target for a reason unknown, “We aren’t even acquaintances. We’re just strangers and I’d prefer to keep it that way. I don’t need your concern or care, so stay out of my way.”
You felt thoroughly indignant at his words as you clenched your jaw, “You know what? I doubt you’ve ever had anyone care for you and I can see why. I hope he hits you harder next time you jerk.” This man drove you utterly insane! And you couldn’t even understand why. Chishiya was so cold and for no reason…!
Walking back to your pool chair you snatched your shorts, “Y/n…! Y/n! Are you okay!?” Nanami hurried to your side, you had forgotten all about your sister being in full range of the horror show she had just finished watching between you and Niragi. Probably too scared to try and intervene and you didn’t blame her. Had it been anyone else besides your sister in your shoes you would’ve kept to yourself as well.
“I’m fine, I’d say you should check on Chishiya but apparently he doesn’t need anybody!” You flailed your arms before plopping down on the seat still mad, “What a…! A…! Pathetic, bitter way to live! He’s so conceited!” You curled your fists as you pulled your shorts up before buttoning them as you grabbed your sheer cover up jacket.
Nanami frowned as she grabbed her hands, “Well…” You whipped around in anger, silently staring at her, just daring her to try and come up with some excuse for this guy. Nanami, was a soft hearted person, she never wanted to judge a book by it’s cover and always gave the benefit of the doubt. You admired that about her, but you sometimes wished she was a bit more….realistic with people, “I’m sure he’ll come around.” She decided to not pursue her original words as she offered a weak smile.
“You can deal with that if you want, but I’m done with him. Anytime I try to be relatively nice, I just get spit in the face.” Huffing you crossed your arms, “I’m going on a walk.” And true to your words you did, you needed to be by yourself for a while to clear your head after what had all transpired just minutes ago.
Tumblr media
“Originally I helped run a ranch but I wanted to see all the sights so I moved out of my pops and came here to the city!” The music was loud in here and so many people were dancing, makeshift stripper poles had been made and honestly. You understood the Beach was supposed to be an escape, but that didn’t make it a bit of a pathetic sight to see people attempting to swing around and accidentally break it. Multiple times.
You were currently sat at the table with Akari, Hiroko and Ryu everyone having a fairly good time and the longer you talked to Hiroko the less intimidating she became, “I don’t really remember much to be honest,” Akari scratched her head as she hummed, “Just that after I finished putting groceries up I saw fireworks out of my window.”
You straightened up in curiosity, you had seen the same thing! “Yeah we all did,” You slumped at Ryu’s words as he frowned, “Nobody can remember anything after seeing them except waking up here in the Borderlands.”
“What were you guys before this…?” You asked, not wanting to linger for long on just where you were, in a city that was a replica of Tokyo with only a handful of what? A hundred people, maybe a little more? You didn’t have the mindset right now to even try and grasp what was going on or what had happened.
“I was a lawyer,” Hiroko answered first, her expression clearly proud and you’d imagine why, this meant she was older than you! “I did quite a bit of traveling around and dabbled in attorney work for awhile...That’s what my dad wanted me to go in as,” She rolled her eyes, “But I found I’m better at building a case.”
Somehow...you weren’t surprised, you smiled regardless wrapping your arms around yourself, the more you talked to them the more comfortable you began to feel, “One morning I was late to getting to the courthouse and this idiot ended up spilling coffee on me,” Hiroko’s words may have been harsh but she looked Ryu with the softest expression you had ever seen her wear.
Obvious fondness in her eyes, “It was by chance he did that I like to think it was by fate I ended up meeting him again except he was behind the counter at the coffeeshop I always went too.”
Ryu’s cheeks dusted pink as he gave an awkward smile, “I worked evening shifts but got switched over to mornings, best decision I ever made! I’m currently in my last year of college for being an art curator!”
“A cure what now?” Akari cocked her head to the side and for some reason the three of you busted out laughing at her as she parted her lips, “Hey don’t laugh! I’m being serious! Is that some kind of professional coffee maker?”
You closed your eyes giggling as you shook your head, “What about you Y/n? What were you before all of this?” You paused for a second at Hiroko’s question as the table quieted down, suddenly your memory swiped back to the night of the fireworks. What happened at work, how you were supposed to go to class the next day. How your night ended early.
“Ah…” You rubbed the back of your neck as you sheepishly smiled, unsure of where to even begin. It wasn’t that...you were ashamed of your work you just- felt often misunderstood by people. Anytime you said you were a sex worker you either recieved wild looks and suddenly you were treated lowly or people- men in particular would begin to send you uncomfortable innuendo’s.
“Ah…! Y/n!” You straightened up at the muffled screech that sounded like your sister as your eyes shot around the room only to find Nanami fumbling towards you with a whine, suddenly hiding behind you as you frowned standing up, “Good! Good! I’m glad you’re here!” She chuckled nervously as your expression contorted.
“Where is that bitch!?”
Oh...why did this seem vaguely familiar, “What did you do?” You hissed as you turned to Nanami as she rubbed her neck sheepishly only for you to whirl back around again at the sight of a raging woman, the most notable feature her breasts nearly spilling from her loose bikini top as she pointed an accusing finger at your sister, “Why don’t you stop being a slut trying to get with MY boyfriend and take it up with me!”
“Nanami!” You hissed as she cowered behind you, her lips tugging into a pout as she poked both her pointer fingers together with a frown. You had an obligation as a big sister to at least try to defend her before feeding her to the wolves, “Maybe you should give that energy to your boyfriend...Wasn’t he the one supposed to stay loyal?” You raised your brows as you spoke.
You shrieked as you ducked down, a beer bottle flying above you as the girl raged on.
“That’s Kokona, resident miss possessive.” Hiroko leaned back in her seat as she sipped her drink, obviously this wasn’t too odd of a sight as she shrugged, “You might wanna run.”
You brows raised at her words only to see Kokona gathering three other men around as Hiroko snorted, “She’s got a whole pack of guys willing to do her bidding.”
“Y/n…!” Nanami whined, grabbing your arm as you watched the three men approach, you looked between Nanami and them as your lips parted in a half sincere apology.
“...Sorry Nami that's what happens when you try to sleep with someone's boyfriend!” You shoved past her as you heard her yelling at you as she split off on the other side of the room. People did nothing to effort to try and move out of your way as you shoved between them, ducking down as weaved through the crowd in hopes of attempting to lose them, you really didn’t want this to become a reputation for you and your sister.
Diving into a booth seat you felt the stares of two men as you offered an awkward smile, “Don’t mind me, I’m just trying to not get killed…” You offered a quirked smile as you grabbed the long island tea off the table, tipping it towards them as they all bubbled out cheers as you took a long sip, your eyes carefully watching over the crowd as you spot the one guy that must’ve been sent after you.
After all you weren’t the one that Kokona wanted to kill, it was a pretty common occurrence you had experienced except...at least the woman before wasn't psychotic enough to actually try to kill you. You supposed the Borderlands were different. Very different.
“Hey you should totally hang with us! We got your back babe.” You looked up at the dorky grin of the man you had sat next to your lying figure, which you were trying to use the table as coverage, “No extra cost needed beside a good laugh!”
You offered a weak smile, “I’m Y/n!” You introduced, endeared at the oddly innocent smile on his face as you awkwardly shifted, “My sister tried to sleep with someone's boyfriend and I somehow got dragged into it.”
“Kokona’s a mean one,” The guy across the table hiccuped as he lifted his glass, “I’d stay away from her if I were.” You lifted up onto your elbows as you glanced up at him, his eyes heavily dilated before you realized he had obviously been as high as a kite and drinking...No wonder they looked so out of it.
Watching the three men rally back together you quickly pressed back against the seats as you closed your eyes, “Yeah, I can tell...Is she like this with everyone....?” You grabbed the glass once more for another sip, needing something to take the edge off of this whole day. If your sister wasn’t so horny you wouldn’t be in this position right now!
“Nah, mainly girls.” The one beside you waved a hand, “She’s pretty cool otherwise, a little ruthless though. She gloats about her speciality being hearts a lot so she thinks it makes her automatically superior since most of us are spades or clubs players.”
Sitting up a little you tilted your head in confusion, holding the drink you now claimed as yours as you drank it once more, “Specialty? Are venues specified towards…? What? A certain type of suit?”
“No! No! Nothing like that, specialty just means what you naturally have a knack for! All games are still random at each venue,” The guy beside you sloshed his drink, obviously semi drunk himself as he explained, “That's why Hatter sends a team of four or three where each person has a specialty in each suit- except there isn’t a lot of hearts player, because we haven’t really encountered any…”
Jiggling your drink you looked down at the ice that was slowly melting as you hummed, “Okay that makes sense.” You nodded remembering Hatter mentioning this was well, it would only be natural that the longer you survived you’d have a preference for a suit.
“Hey aren’t you new?” The guy across the table pointed a sluggish finger at you, “Shouldn’t you be a little more...freaked out…?”
You offered a weak smile as you glanced away, “Oftentimes in traumatic situations hysteria doesn’t always hit first, it’s likely that my psyche is still in shock and hasn’t fully processed what I’ve seen the past day…” The guy across the table squinted his eyes as he nodded with his lips parted as if in awe at your words, “It’s a mental thing,” You waved at your head, “To try and keep the psychological state of my mind in one piece.”
You wouldn’t deny, there was a certain part of you that felt numb to everything and a smaller part of yourself wondered how you could intake all this information without going hysterical. But...the way you saw it was if this was your reality now, there was nothing you could do to change it. It was better you just got as much information as you could and try your best to adapt if you were going to live on.
Glancing out over the crowd you noticed the men had disappeared once again as you offered both the guys a smile, “Thanks for letting me stay! But I’d better get going.” You gave a small nod, getting up as you held the glass, looking down at it as you frowned...You really hoped this wasn’t laced with anything or else it was going to be a very long night.
Pushing through the crowd you couldn’t find Nanami anywhere but you did spot the girl you had sent three guys after you both like a fucking dog. Squeezing the glass you took a long drink as you approached her, “Kokona,” You called out with a smile as you waved, her eyes sharp as she immediately glared you down, “Listen…” You approached her with an easy smile, “I’m not here to make enemies, my sister is young and she probably didn’t realize it was your boyfriend…But like I said, you don’t really want a guy like that around…”
“Listen here you walmart knock off barbie,” Kokona pointed a sharp nail at you making your lips part a little in surprise at just how aggressive she was, “I don’t give a fuck. I don’t have the time or patience, here of all places. I’m sure you understand right?” She offered a gritty smile, “So tell that bitchy little sister of yours to stay out of my sight if she doesn’t want her hair ripped out.”
Pressing your tongue to your cheek you looked away for a second before down at your drink...Well, she asked for it.
You without a second thought held the drink up before splashing it all over her, “Say what you want about me I don’t give a fuck,” You stepped closer to her as you offered a gritty smile of your own, “But don’t ever say anything about my sister. I’m sure I’ll see you later.” You waved a hand as you turned around, walking back to the table where Akari, Ryu and Hiroko looked like they were all preparing to duck for cover at the show Kokona had put on for them unknowingly.
Setting the glass down at the table you collapsed in your chair as you whined, “Why are women so unfriendly here!?”
Hiroko snorted as she shrugged, obviously not bugged like you were about it, “In this world it’s either kill or be killed, a lot of people don’t have time for niceties anymore. You’ll get used to it. Besides, Kokona is just a bitch to everyone. Don’t take it so personal.” She shrugged, “While you and Nanami were getting chased down we were talking…”
You frowned as you looked up at all three of them as Akari smacked the table, “We should all go out for a game tonight! I know! I know, counterproductive especially with our visa’s stocked for the next few days but I think it’d be fun!”
“Fun!?” The three of them paused as you sat up in your seat, looking at them all like they were insane because they obviously had to be, “Fun!?” You repeated again with even more emphasis, “Guys…! You- you could die!”
“We could die just trying to breath here,” Hiroko scoffed as she shrugged, nonpulsed at your reaction as she picked her nails, ‘Besides you don’t have to go, I get it. We were all like this when we were new too. But I figured we’d make a good team logically. My speciality is diamond, Ryu’s is clubs and we just found out Akari is spades. And we have you, our wild card to figure out what you’re good at. It’s unlikely we’d die. By statistics at least.”
You rubbed your neck, feeling a little more at ease with Hiroko’s rationality as you mumbled, “Well what about Nanami…?” Your eyes washed over the crowd, finally spotting your sister against the wall sipping something trying to act like there weren't three guys after her.
“I doubt you’d want her to go?” Hiroko raised her brows, “Besides she still has three days left on her visa, she’ll be fine. Again, I’m not gonna pressure you into going, if all you’re gonna do is panic you probably will get lynched.”
Her words made you puff your chest a little as you looked back to Nanami before back to the table, well...if they all had a strong suit then why not? “Alright, I’m in!” Who knows when you’d get the opportunity again to get more days on your visa in a considerably safe group.
Tumblr media
“I get it you’re like a walking model but seriously?” Hiroko leaned against the bathroom wall as she sighed picking at her nails, “You weren’t even in a full bikini.”
“This has nothing to do with vanity and everything to do with comfort!” You called back, pulling up the loose sweatpants, “I’m not going to possibly go into a game that makes me run while wearing swimwear, I don’t hate myself that much!” You pulled the loose t-shirt over your head before pulling out the maroon jacket as you walked out, stuffing your swim attire in the bag. You had been at the venue for the past five minutes now, having not crossed the threshold but you still have time before it closed.
“How many people have showed up?” You asked as you stood next to Hiroko who dropped her hand as she looked at you rolling her eyes as she sighed, standing up as you both walked to where Akari and Ryu were discussing the possibilities of what the game would be tonight.
“Eh, like four? Maybe? I think that guy you know is in there.” Hiroko shrugged casually, “Looks like a good setup for a spades game, they typically have a bigger group number.”
“What?” Your brows furrowed, what guy? Your mind drew a blank briefly as Ryu stretched out with a nod.
“Well if we’re all ready to go then let's head inside it’s almost six.” Ryu nodded once more as everyone followed behind him, you tossed your bag against the wall, it’s not like you had to be worried about anyone stealing in this climate. Your heartbeat picked up as you crossed the threshold.
Noticing indeed four other people here before your lips parted and your face screwed into irritation, “Really!?” You muttered under your breath, immediately turning away from the familiar white hood as you stubbornly crossed your arms, “Hiroko why didn’t you say it was him!?” You hissed a whisper to her.
Hiroko looked between you and Chishiya who was on his phone, earbuds in and ignoring the outside world before she tried to hold a laugh, “Did you two fuck or something?” You immediately flailed at her words making both her and Akari start laughing at both your misery and anger as you glared at her in unappreciation.
“You think i’d fuck someone like him!?” You hissed out, “No, he's a total jerk! I…! Why can’t I go anywhere without him showing up!” You groaned as you crossed your arms, “Whatever, maybe he’ll get his guts ripped out tonight.”
“Ouch, that’s a little harsh.” Ryu frowned, innocent as ever as he held his hands together, before offering a cute smile, “I’m sure he’ll come around, we’re all a part of the beach after all.” You sourly crossed your arms as you looked at the clock, striking six just in time for you to get tonight started with whatever death trap awaited.”
Somehow, you doubt Chishiya held any loyalty to any of you at all just because you all slept in the same hotel…
The TV on the wall lit up as everyone's attention turned to it, obviously nobody was new here tonight as no one spoke to each other.
Game
Difficulty: 3♡
“A heart's game?” Ryu mumbled, his brows furrowed as he looked between you all as you gave a little shrug, your face twisted in concern as you wrapped your arms around yourself, “Well at least it’s a low difficulty! I’m sure it won’t be too hard to solve!”
“The game you will be participating in is Blind Man's Bluff. Everyone will be required to wear a blindfold for one minute where the tagger will pass their tag off,” The screen depicted a faceless man passing quite literally a name tag off to one sitting down “Tags pertain to who is a player and who is the tagger. You will have twenty minutes to complete the game. It’s a Game ‘Clear’ if the tagger is discovered before the end of the last round, it’s a Game Over for the players if the tagger remains undiscovered.”
Rules:
After each tagging sequence players will remain seated to take off their blindfold and find out if they have been selected as the tagger.
Blindfolds must be worn and kept on for the whole minute during the tagging sequence or it’s a Game Over.
Violence against other players is strictly prohibited and will result in a Game Over.
Players must remain seated for the whole time period of the tagging sequence or it’s a Game Over.
Game Clear conditions: If the players find out who the tagger is before the time runs out or it’s a Game Over for all players.
Tension had risen in the air a little as you felt your throat become dry, everyone immediately looked at each other somewhat suspiciously as the doors opened to the school gym, it was dark and empty outside of eleven chairs lined in a circle, all backs facing each other.
“It could be worse.” Hiroko whispered to you as everyone grabbed a blindfold off the table that stood off in the distance, “As long as we just keep passing the tagger off to someone else we should be fine.”
“Unless one of us gets picked by the end?” You quirked a brow as you rubbed the back of your neck, chances of that happening was one in ten but still, “I don’t like those odds Hiroko.”
Hiroko only snorted as you both walked up, grabbing a blindfold as your eyes darted to the tags that laid out. Your brows furrowed at the stuffed bear with a blindfold on, his name tag ‘Rikku’ that took up his whole stomach, grabbing a tag as you turned back to face Hiroko.
“All we have to do is get a confession out of the tagger, it can’t be that hard.” Hiroko shrugged as she grabbed her blindfold as you puffed a breath of air, you hadn’t known her for long and despite knowing she was a lawyer before all of this...it was just still hard to imagine unless she was pressuring. Not exactly your method of going about stuff like this.
Walking to a chair towards the left side of the room you sat down, crossing your legs as you looked up at the two clocks, one at twenty minutes that began ticking away and another holding at one minute.
Looking towards your left your gaze immediately snapped back forward as your lips curled a little at the insufferable sight of blonde hair who made no effort to try and speak to you.
Was he just sitting here purposely to annoy you? Because if you got tagger you would most definitely put it on him next.
“The one minute for the tagging sequence getting ready to begin, blindfolds on.”
Putting on your blindfold you tied it in a loose knot as you relaxed back into your chair, not being the tagger was perhaps the boring part of this game, the whole minute passed by and you briefly felt something press against your blindfold before it left.
“Blinds off. Ten second cool down starts now.” Taking off your blindfold you flipped it over only to find the tag player stuck on it, attached magnetically as you pulled it off, proceeding to wait the ten seconds before the scoreboard went off and everyone stood up.
“Maybe we should start easy and just show who has a name tag?” Ryu coughed a little as he scuffed his shoe against the ground, rubbing his neck as he frowned, everyone, as if it was possible, became all the more tense.
You looked around at all the blindfolds that were being held, “I don’t think that will work, we've most likely all been provided a nametag, the only odd man out is the one with tagger. But they’ve most likely hidden it. All we can do is just take a guess of who it could be.”
Nobody spoke for a moment making Hiroko heave a sigh as she cracked her neck, “Alright I’ll do it, I’m used to this in court. What about you!” She suddenly pointed to a shorter girl who had been fiddling with her skirt, suddenly jumping at the accusation.
“What!? I’m- I’m not the tagger!” She squeaked out, nervousness suddenly on her expression and many of the wolves of the group were definitely preying on her right now as Hiroko puffed a breath crossing her arms.
“Then why do you look so nervous?” She raised an accusing brow, making you shift in your spot, crossing your arms, you couldn’t agree with Hiroko’s approach to this that was just stoking fire to an already stressful atmosphere where everyone was quickly beginning to pin the blame on each other.
You could only stand there and watch as everyone began to argue as you pinched the bridge of your nose, “We’re never gonna get anything solved if we go about it like this.” You muttered to yourself as you sighed.
“If you’re that confident in doing better then you should assert yourself more.”
You turned to Chishiya who was also standing not quite close enough for you to say he was next to you, but close enough. Your eyes squinted into a glare as you spoke, “Right and how do I know you’re not the tagger?”
“Because I would’ve tagged you next if I was.” Chishiya shrugged casually making you clench your fists as you let out a noise of irritation, you hated that…! Annoying smirk of his! Despite not knowing him for long you could get the idea he obviously got off on annoying you and it only fueled your irritation that much more.
“The feelings are mutual, stranger.” You hissed as you crossed your arms, “And I’ll have you know I am not going to insert myself into...that!” You waved your hand at the sight of two of the men now shouting at each other, the taller one immediately grabbing the other by the shirt, “Because at that point you’ll just be accused with any sort of logic.”
You puffed a breath as you wrapped your jacket around yourself, “And besides, this chaos is a great scapegoat for the real tagger to just sit back and watch everyone pick each other off-” You paused as you turned to Chishiya as you silently berated yourself, why were you even rambling to this guy!? He was a total jerk and you were not about to let go of this morning where you were only trying to help, “Why are you even talking to me? Didn’t you want us to...what? Stay strangers?”
“I’m...not talking to you?” He raised his brows, his lips quirking into an infuriating half smile as if he had a point making your lips pucker together and your jaw clench in effort to try and keep your obvious anger to a minimum, “It’s not my fault you won’t shut up.” He had the audacity to shrug.
You couldn’t help but stomp your foot as you glared at him, “You know what!? I get the feeling if you didn’t care you would’ve gone and sulked in the corner the whole game. In fact, I bet you like listening to me ramble. After all the whole day and a half I’ve known you that's all you do other than instigate unnecessary fights!”
Chishiya’s gaze narrowed a little and you watched his body coil a little away from you at your words, “In what world would you think I care to listen to you?” His lips twitched into cruel smirk as he spoke, “Besides your irrational anger and blabbering, you don’t have an ounce of sense or logic in your body. You're probably best suited for hearts because all you do is spill emotion.”
“That is not what hearts are about!” You retaliated as you threw your hands even more frustrated, “Why are you so defensive the moment I say anything in relation to you possibly not being some emotionless humanoid!? I get it,” You flailed your arms as you spoke louder, “I was a total dick for comparing you to a sociopath! Okay? I can admit that, and usually I can understand where people are coming from but- but you!? I genuinely don’t get you! At all! One moment you wanna pretend like everything's cool between us and then the next you wanna act like a total asshole! And that’s not cool!”
Chishiya had looked away from you heaving a loud sigh making you stomp your foot again, here you were exerting all of your emotion into him and he really…!
Your fists curling only to realize just how silent it was...you turned to look at the crowd of people who all had stopped fighting and...Oh...you felt your face become hot as you wrapped your arms around yourself in embarrassment...Were you really that loud…
“If you and your boyfriend are done arguing we have more important things to solve!” A man pointed a finger at you with a hiss making you curl away, your ears burning at his words as you snapped back, “He is not my boyfriend! Besides you aren’t getting anything done just yelling at each other,” You turned away from Chishiya now unable to even look him in the eyes at the moment, “The real question is who has been silent up until now? The tagger would obviously sit back and watch because why would they insert themselves when you’re doing a great job at killing time.”
“The one minute for the tagging sequence getting ready to begin, blindfolds on.”
Clenching your jaw you sat in your chair as everyone proceeded to do the same, it was now silent as you put on your blindfold, now angry and not even at the game. You wasted your whole time, not even arguing with Chishiya which somehow made you feel even more angry.
It was like talking to a wall.
Crossing your legs you curled up against yourself, mad just...Why were you even mad? You shouldn’t be letting someone like this get under your skin. You briefly wondered why it bothered you so much. Come to think of it, you supposed it was for the exact reason you said.
Chishiya, puzzled you to no end and you had never experienced that with someone, ever. You couldn’t figure out what he was thinking nor find an understanding as to why he was so back and forth with you. Maybe it was your misinterpretation? But...You shook your head a little despite your gaze darkened from the blindfold, it wasn’t that.
It was obvious, for whatever reason, he was holding himself back, From what? You didn’t know, but for now…
“Blinds off. Ten second cool down starts now.”
Pulling off your blindfold you looked at it, the same tag remaining of Player on it. You needed to focus on finding out who the tagger was, really this was like a game of hot potato, chances of the tagger getting killed was just as high as all the players dying, and who would want to take that chance?
Maybe some, you stood up after the scoreboard went off and the original clock resumed as you turned around facing everyone to judge their reactions, Hiroko and Ryu were the same and so was Akari to your knowledge. Your eyes briefly flickered to Chishiya who had remained seated, his hands in his pockets, he also...You doubted yourself briefly, you couldn’t rule him out.
“Who here wasn’t talking last round?” You asked, looking around at everyone, who obviously everyone immediately began speaking much to your frustration, you couldn’t expect someone to answer honestly which only meant...Puffing a breath, “Alright, how about this, let’s all trace a conversation with one person we talked too last round.”
...You’d just have to manipulate the tagger into confessing
First you’d need to trace who was absolutely not the tagger and narrow it from there, “I’ll go first as an example since everyone seemed to hear last round,” You looked away briefly, a somewhat awkward smile on your lips, “I was talking to Chishiya about why he’s such an asshole. You don’t need his confirmation given everyone saw it, but typically you’d need someone to vouch for you in order to confirm you were talking. Now to those that didn’t talk, it doesn’t make them guilty, just more suspect.”
“Me and Ryu were talking to each other about who the possible tagger was.” Hiroko spoke up, pulling a hand around Ryu’s waist who looked a little flush as he nodded, semi shy as you nodded yourself. That answer wasn’t too surprising.
“Well I was talkin’ to this fine gentleman here about how I wasn’t the tagger.” Akari waved a hand to the guy beside her, who still leered but nodded in confirmation which cleared the both of them. You had hoped...this would keep civil, but as everyone went around, there was bound to be some who just genuinely didn’t remember because they were arguing with everyone, and those who were lying…
Which meant by this deduction things were narrowed down, for most people the chance of being found out you were the tagger is too stressful to be worth possibly being the only one to live in the end, thus handing it off, which meant there was...what? One in third chance each round the tagger was someone new? There were a few people you had to suspect that could have held the tagger without giving it up.
The guy towards the middle who was very strangely calm during all of this with very empty looking eyes, and then there was the other man more towards you left who had been calmly de-escalating the situation but you didn’t miss the undertones of manipulation. It was one in third chance they could be holding it. Which meant you’d need to make sure they weren’t.
Walking over you stood more near Hiroko and Ryu as you watched two guys begin arguing again, “Every time I think we’ve made progress, it always ends up getting disturbed.”
“Well that is the way of the world.” You kept a straight expression at the man who offered a smile that looked so unnatural to his empty eyes, you couldn’t help but feel a bit creeped out at how...insanely calm he was. You could get a sense of tension from at least Chishiya, granted it was most likely from you.
“I’m Y/n,” You introduced, “Sense we should all be working together I figured it’d be best we at least learn each other's names.” You offered a sweet smile as you wrapped your jacket around yourself in effort to try and look unsuspecting.
“I see how much anger you have inside you know? It’s quite obvious, from the way you lash out at others when you don’t get the response you want to the way you feel entitled to everyone's feelings, that’s not good for your health you know?” Your lips parted a little at his words, not even offended because...while he was right in some ways...he was very wrong in others, “But I understand your nature is tedious and complex, for all we not the same way?” Okay...this guy was definitely a psychopath, “I’m Sunato Banda, pleased to meet you.” He offered another smile.
Empty eyes, disturbingly calm demeanor, even with your lives on the line he wasn’t disturbed at all, it wasn’t that he didn’t care. He just wasn’t affected, at all, like this could be a walk in the park for him.
Psychopath, definitely.
You’d need to be careful if tagger got in his possession otherwise he’d lie straight through his teeth and he’d never blink twice about it and you and everyone else would be unsuspecting about it.
“Well, us humans are very complex,” You nodded offering yet another smile making effort to look almost starstruck at his very poor deduction skills, again, somewhat correct, otherwise wrong. Afterall, how could someone who feels no remorse, truly understand the complexity of human nature? “Do you by any chance know who the tagger would be?”
You’d need to make yourself look weak, pliable, if you were to get any use out of this guy, all he knew was how to do was take advantage of people, obviously, Banda offered a sly smile as he looked out over the room, his eyes washing over everyone, “Him,” He pointed a finger, “He keeps adjusting his coat as if he has something placed in there that’s uncomfortable.”
You followed his line of sight to what looked like a business man in a suit and bowler hat, he did in fact, look quite nervous, “And why not call him out?” You asked, tilting your head exaggerated as you brimmed with curiosity.
Banda turned to face you, a bright smile on his face as he closed his eyes, “Well I personally hope he’ll tag me next, I quite enjoy seeing a large build up in bodies.”
..Oh...oh wow…
You gave a small nod, forcing a smile as you held yourself before excusing yourself from him, well, at least it definitely wasn’t him for now. Otherwise you’d be in trouble right now. And now you had a prime suspect. Some could overthink that and argue that perhaps he was lying just to get you off his trail. But personally? There was no way it’d be him, he wouldn’t do something like that. You got the feeling Banda, was a simple man.
You turned to find the two guys from before who were tussling suddenly growl, one throwing a punch and before he could even fully hit the guy a deep red laser broke through the ceiling, you were frozen for a half a second at the sight of it shooting through the top of his head. Everyone was quiet as they looked down at the sight of a now dead body.
Right...that was a rule, violence was prohibited.
“The one minute for the tagging sequence getting ready to begin, blindfolds on.”
You scurried back to your seat, sitting down as you pulled up your blindfold, “It’s that guy wearing the dumb bowler hat.” Your head looked towards you left despite not being able to see, Chishiya’s voice was quiet as he spoke, “While you were busy wasting time, I watched the real tagger- that school girl place it in his back pocket.”
“The tagger can do that during the round?” You whispered back perplexed at the idea, how could you have missed that? Unless...she placed it right as you approached Banda? Thus him seeing the man realize he had been tagged and now nervously adjusting himself?
“There aren't any rules stating otherwise, makes it fair game.” Chishiya replied, he immediately quieted at the sound of footsteps tapping on the floor, they were definitely on your side of the ring. Your breath hitched a little at feeling something press against your forehead. Oh shit before the sound of footsteps walked away.
“We just need to watch for him next round.” Chishiya spoke once more as you leaned back in your seat, trying to find a reason for why you just felt what you did.
“Blinds off. Ten second cool down starts now. Final round will be next round”
You hurriedly took yours off as you flipped it over looking down at it,
Tagger
Motherfucker.
You quickly grabbed it off, at first trying to push it into your pocket only to realize they were fake. God you hated women’s clothing, your eyes shot to the clock that only had five seconds left, with nowhere to put it you shoved it down your bra as you collected yourself. Okay you...you could make this work.
But now you were presented with a plethora of options. You honestly didn’t think it would be passed off to you. But now...you...you could keep it...You stood up as the scoreboard went off, but...Everyone else would die. Or...you could confess and you’d die. These options were not great. Next round was the last round, so if you gave it up...you’d be reassuring someone’s victory.
You stood next to Chishiya as his eyes kept with the man from before with the bowler hat, “He might have gotten it passed back to him.” His eyes narrowed a little onto the guy.
Do you find a way to discreetly tell him? Or would that also count as a confession…? It wouldn’t be a confession if you made yourself suspect. But...you couldn’t honestly trust Chishiya, not after his unstable display of distrust in you.
“He could be,” You replied, leaning in a little as you watched him, he appeared relieved once more, he was the one freaked out about this after all...you felt a brief wave of guilt inside you at what your mind had suddenly come up with.
With Chishiya’s suspect still on the man, all you needed to do was plant it back on him and pressure a confession out of him next round.
You were very much going to hell after this.
“He was the one that started accusing last round too and made someone die,” You hummed as you stuffed your hands in your pocket, “That guy also thought it was him. He’s definitely good at reading people,” You thought back to the way he tried to read you, which was somewhat accurate, but people like you and him, you couldn’t always accurately read each other. Except you weren’t insane like him, “At this point we don’t have much to lose.”
You could see the cogs turning in Chishiya’s head as he stared menacingly at the man who looked at him and jolted a little at such an intense stare, “If I were the tagger by this point,” You were treading on very thin ice at the moment, “I’d keep it just for myself, instead passing it off. He’s gone this far without anyone really pressuring him. It’d be the smartest move by now.”
“Then we’ll settle on him.” Chishiya replied, his gaze cold as he glared down at the man who mindlessly fixed his tie, trying to look cool despite being intimidated, clearly. He had a weak mentality, if you couldn’t break him next round, Chishiya most definitely would.
“The one minute for the tagging sequence getting ready to begin, blindfolds on.”
You supposed he was good for something even when you couldn’t trust him.
Sitting down in your chair you put your blindfold on and waited a second before taking it back off, standing back up as you carefully stepped as quietly as you could, pulling the Tagger out of your bra before you walked over to the man who had just tagged you before pressing it against his blindfold, you watched his lips quiver as he let out a quiet, “Please…!”
Your expression went cold as you turned around, glancing at the clock before you walked away and sat back down in your chair, putting your blindfold back on as you waited for the announcer once more.
“Blinds off. Ten second cool down starts now. Final round.”
You took the blindfold off, looking down feeling content at the Player tag as you stood up along with Chishiya who’s eyes went between you and the man before he pushed his hands back into his pockets, “If you’re all done pointing fingers and wasting time,” His gaze became a little more cool as he spoke, “Then we should go ahead and show who the real tagger is.”
Both you and Chishiya glanced at the man who was now looking insanely nervous, sweat dripping down his neck and if this wasn’t life or death, you would’ve felt a little bad...Some parts of you still did, but it was either all of you or just him.
“He does look pretty nervous.” Hiroko narrowed her eyes on him and from this moment forward you knew it was game over for him, quite literally. With all three of you there was no way he’d survive, crossing your arms you lifted your chin a little, “Say, weren’t you the one who got really defensive when the finger got pointed at you last round?”
“I’m…!” He flailed a little, wiping his brow with his hand as he suddenly pointed an accusing finger at you, “It’s her you want! She’s a manipulative bitch!” You pressed your hand against your chest in fake hurt as you raised your brows, “She’s the one pitting everyone against me when she’s really the tagger. She’s going to leave you all to die.”
The majority of eyes fled to you as you shrugged, “Why would I do that when I could just give it to you?” You gave a wickedly sweet smile as you giggled a little, “And watch it all go down. I mean, you must be agreeing now?” You raised your brows as you goaded, “About being the tagger?”
“I…!” He struggled with his words, now glaring at you as you raised your brows once more as you shook your head, “I…! Now you’re just doing this on purpose! Trying to get into everyone's head and make everyone die! Can’t- can’t you see what she’s doing!” He cried out as he backed away from everyone.
“I dunno’ you seem pretty guilty to me.” Akari shrugged as she poked her tongue into her cheek, not looking the least bit remorseful for the guy as she leaned her weight onto one side.
“I get it,” You shrugged as you laughed a little, “You’re probably that kinda guy who’s never really stood up for himself, you probably got bullied as a kid and let yourself get run over by people all the time, even now, and now in desperation you attempt to hold your own and yet...” You tilted your head with a frown as you mocked, “You still can’t do anything right. I guess that goes to show, that people like you just never have a spine. If you can’t assert yourself now with your life on the line, you might as well die now. Because let’s face it, people like you only end in two ways, either spineless pathetic existence or you become the abuser out of a sick need to regain what you lost as a kid.”
Reverse psychology, worked in the most simplistic ways.
That seemed to get him to snap, you watched his eyes dilate and pure unfurled rage cross his expression as he shrieked, “Shut up! Shut up! Shut up! You know nothing about my life! You know nothing about me! And because I’m the tagger I’ll get to watch all you pathetic people die! Who’s in control now!?”
It’s a shame he couldn’t take control of his life in any other circumstance.
Everyone paused and even he himself paused at the realization, his eyes welled with tears that made something deep in your heart lurch, your eyes squinting a little as your expression wilted a little as the red laser broke through the roof shooting him straight through the top of his head. His body crumpling to the ground.
‘Game Cleared’
Everyone was still for a moment before you looked down at the blindfold and then to your hands, the memory hazy yet the memory of red staining them still so clear as you felt ringing in your ears and your vision blur for a moment as you let the fabric slip through your fingers. Running a hand through your hair you wrapped your arms around your jacket as you walked past the body, briefly looking at the once timid man who obviously let others run his life.
“Sorry.” You whispered quietly as you stepped over the corpse, “Come on, let’s go. I don’t wanna stay around here.” You looked towards the other three who nodded, also looking semi apprehensive as well.
Now that the moment was over, the cruel reality was back to remind you that you just gaslit someone into admitting their own suicide. It was hard to not feel innately disgusted with yourself despite your reasoning that you and all of your friends would’ve died if you had. Still, what you did was okay. You were supposed to help people like him, not encourage them to snap.
If you didn’t feel conflicted before you certainly felt conflicted now, looking at the register you ignored the visa print as you grabbed the playing card off the table.
And as if mocking, this was only a three of hearts. You couldn’t imagine what higher level games looked like with this. You’d definitely need to be careful in the future, “Y/n! Come on, let’s go!” You looked behind at Hiroko nodding towards the exit.
“You guys go on, I’ll catch up later.” You looked down at the card again, Hiroko frowned at your figure, wanting to say something but she understood, the first few days of the Borderlands were never easy. With that, she left. Besides you needed to get changed before you headed for the beach again.
Walking out of the exit you grabbed your bag that was, just as you anticipated, still against the wall, leaning down you opened it up as you began digging through to try and find your bathing suit top. Stuffing the card inside you furrowed your brows, why did the electricity have to go out so soon?
“You could’ve kept the tagger and won but you didn’t. Why?”
You paused your search at the sound of Chishiya’s voice, sounding like he was- not interrogating you but definitely investigating. You resumed once more as you shrugged, “I could’ve.” You agreed, and it did cross your mind after all, “I thought about it,” You admitted right after as you pulled out the swimsuit top, “But maybe to some degree you were right,” You stood up as you turned to face him, “I am spilling emotion constantly. And if there was a chance I could’ve saved all of us in turn for one? It didn’t seem like that big of a reach to do really…” You looked away from him as you grabbed your neck, feeling a bit sheepish, “It was by chance you had spotted him before and it was by luck that I was given tagger for the last round. I knew all you needed was just mutual confirmation in your assessment before initiating the end.”
You sighed as you looked down at the elastic material in your hand as you frowned, “For what it’s worth, I would’ve probably done it to him regardless of whether he had been the tagger or not. It doesn’t take much to break the weakest link. That’s probably the saddest part to be honest.”
You grabbed your backpack off the ground as you looked up at Chishiya before back towards the entrance where others slowly began to filter out, “I doubt he even realized the trap I set him up for,” You smiled wryly as you shook your head, “People are so easy to mislead, I forget sometimes, the power that can hold.”
You turned around, intending to go change, “What were you before all of this?” You looked back at Chishiya, his gaze cool as ever and his eyes scanning over you as if in search for an answer that didn’t exist. Briefly your heart jumped in nervousness, did you dare tell the truth?
Laughing you let out a sigh what was the use in hiding in this world? There were no laws and honestly, who could judge you? “I was a prostitute.” You looked away, feeling somewhat bashful as you awkwardly rubbed your neck, you could tell that was not what Chishiya had been expecting you to say.
“Oh…!” Your lips parted suddenly feeling even more stupid at the realization that was not what he meant by his question, “You...You probably meant what I’m majoring in...sorry. Uh-” You gave him an apologetic smile that was more out of your sake of humiliation as assuming. Clearing your throat you turned back over your shoulder as you gave him one last look, holding up the three of hearts as you answered, “I’m a major in psychology ♡ ”

I am thou, thou art I - Levi pact story
A oneshot about how making a pact with Levi could look like with a little more emotion, drama and depth than in the game.
With gender neutral MC!
Enjoy :>
Envy. It's ugly, painful, disgusting. The cause of many conflicts, with others, and within oneself. And there's one, the avatar of Envy, who knows every little shred of feeling behind this emotion. Leviathan, thrid-born demon of the rulers of the underworld. A shut-in, an otaku, barely interested in the real world but rather indulged in fictional ones. Why, you might ask? Well, when the human exchange student came to the Devildom, Levi was about to experience once again as to why he fled into his fictional worlds. The first weeks after the human's arrival, he did not notice the change they would bring to all of them. He didn't notice much about the exchange student at all, to be frank. MC seemed like a boring human being, no sorcerer, nothing special about them. A Normie. So Leviathan never bothered to interact with them more than necessary. He had way more important things to do in his room, gaming or binging his shows. However, as they lived in the same house, they were bound to interact sooner or later. Thus, over time, Levi found out that MC knew a thing or two about his interests. Their knowledge was miserable in comparison to his, of course, but a few times, it actually seemed like they were listening when Levi was talking. They replied to his texts in the group chats when his brothers kept ignoring him. They thanked him for making dinner when it was his turn to cook. They seemed to not mind... him. Of course, that was probably nothing more than human courtesy. There was no way they were liking him. HIM, out of all. And Leviathan didn't care. He had no interest in real life friends. He didn't need them. So he let MC be, let them hang out with his brothers. He watched as MC grew closer and closer to the second-born, Mammon, until one day, they had formed a pact with him. So MC really had to be a dumb Normie, Levi thought, as no one would be stupid enough to make a pact with that money-grubbing scumbag. Levi could only give a huff when Mammon kept bragging about it, over and over. He could only huff when, a few weeks later, he heard that Beel made a pact with them, too. "Because I want to protect MC" Beel had said. "They feel important to me." How stupid. They were stupid. All of them. What were they making pacts for? MC was a weak human, a Normie with no special talents that could impress powerful demons like the brothers. Certainly, Levi wasn't interested in any of this. What a pain it must be, he laughed, to forge a bond with someone. Because that meant duties, like you have in friendships. You have to hang out, care for the other, waste your precious time for a being other than yourself. Stupid, Levi huffed. And watched as MC kept living through adventures with Mammon, how they laughed and kept going out with Beel. And somehow, he couldn't take his eyes off their stupidity.
---------
More time passed, and MC had grown accustomed to the Devildom. They have made friends in school, also with Asmo, Belphie and even Satan now, too. Lucifer seemed happy with their achievements. Levi's brothers kept being around MC all the time. Mammon kept dragging them into his bullshit, Beel got them to do workouts with him, Satan lend them his favourite books, and one night, Levi had heard MC and Asmo coming home from a party, all tipsy and giggly. Levi's stomach had turned hearing them. How much fun they were having. With a stupid Normie, a human. He imagined their happy faces, their joy, And his own face curled in a disgusted frown. Friends, huh? No, he didn't need anything like that. He had his games, his anime, after all... ... Right?
----------
Over the weeks, his contact with MC would naturally increase. Mammon forced Levi to play games all together, Lucifer assigned them to do kitchen duty together. Levi disliked being outside his room or with other people, but MC was good at asking just the right questions, at talking about topics that Leviathan would give an answer too. One time, Levi made them laugh. He dropped a comment that wasn't supposed to be that funny, but it resulted in MC chuckling for quite a while. And Levi was in shock. They had such a pretty smile. For a moment, the two of them had locked eyes, and theirs were filled with sparkly joy, as they looked at him. His lips couldn't do anything but curl upwards. He wouldn't get this sight out of his head for a long time.
Events like this kept repeating themselves. Even though he wanted to be alone, the human kept being in his life, a little here, a little there... ... And kept making him smile. So, dizzy on this weird, fuzzy feeling, Leviathan started being funny on purpose. To see more of their smiling face. It worked, and he felt like watching his favourite anime show over and over again. He felt happy.
---------
But as mentioned before, envy is a disgusting emotion. It's a sly, dirty feeling, that can creep up inside you without yourself noticing it. An emotion that would keep haunting the third-born forever. At first, Levi wouldn't understand what was causing him to be in distress. He kept noticing MC's smile, but it was directed towards his brothers. They were having fun, but while going out with his brothers. They lived, but without him. And he should have been fine with that. He was a busy demon, had his duties within his games and blogs. A mere Normie shouldn't ever change anything in the lifestyle he was perfectly fine with. But it just wouldn't leave his consciousness. How Mammon was so obviously falling in love with MC, how Asmo made a pact with them, too. How everyone seemed to experience changes, to the better, with MC around. They were all so happy, such good friends... While Levi was sat in his room, alone. I am a shut-in, he thought. I want to be that way. I'm too good of an otaku to waste my time with a human, he told himself. Then, an ache pierced through his chest. "... And they wouldn't like someone like me, anyways..."
From that point on, Leviathan wouldn't return their smile anymore. Whenever he saw MC smiling because of him, he would ensure himself that, in fact, they weren't smiling because of him at all. They were probably amused by something his brothers had done. There was no way someone like him could make another person happy like this. It wasn't that special to see them smile anyway. Because they did that around his brothers, too. A lot, even. Probably more than around Levi. Who would laugh about a disgusting shut-in's joke in the first place? No-one, not if they had six other brothers to choose from. They are probably laughing ABOUT you, a thought once crossed his mind. And so, he distanced himself more and more.
---------
At some point, Levi had stopped coming out of his room almost completely. He enjoyed his games and manga, was so productive in his hobbies! But he didn't quite feel the same joy as a few months ago... ... Before MC had come to the Devildom. Sitting at his desk, re-playing one of his favourite games, Levi gave a bothered huff. Stupid MC, he thought. It's all because of them. Because they came here, invaded his perfect life like this. Because their joy was so captivating. Because they liked his brothers more. Because they kept changing them, kept making them happy, but Levi was all on his own. It was so unfair. But then again, it really was his fault, wasn't it? Because he was miserable trash. Levi's lip began to shake. Yeah, he was miserable, the thought. In comparison to his brothers, he was nothing. Just a creepy shut-in, nothing more. He wasn't as funny as Mammon, as smart as Satan, as handsome as Asmo, as strong as Beel, as laid-back as Belphie, not even a shred as perfect as Lucifer. They were all so likeable, but him...? He had nothing to offer. "It's... It's fine...", Levi mumbled to himself. "Who needs friends either way? I don't... I have Henry... And my games... That is all... I need..." He pressed a button to continue his game. He had stopped in the middle of a conversation between the protagonist, Joker, and his best friend, Ryuji. So Ryuji spoke:
"Hey, this ain't like me, but... I managed to change 'cause you were here, helpin' me."
Levi's eyes widened. Change...? Help...?
"I got you all wrapped up in this shit, but you stayed with me 'till the bitter end."
Here... Here, as well? Two people, not even real, but still they get to share such a bond together?
“... You didn't abandon me."
Levi felt his eyes watering up. Their friendship... It...
"So... Thanks man."
It was so unfair. Levi's face frowned and wrinkled in burning frustration. A growl escaping his lips, he smashed his controller on his desk, pushing himself away from it to stand up. However once on his feet, he was tumbling, holding his head while his body was shaking. It hurt. It burned. He hated all those happy faces. Hated how good everyone else had it, with their bonds, their affection... And he was all alone. Gasping in-between his pained sobs, Leviathan couldn't stop himself from what he called an "envy-attack", so he had to endure how his own brain flooded him with all the times he had been envious of MC being with his brothers, every single moment where he had felt left out, or not good enough. And in addition, his toxic mind kept making him at fault. Near to hyperventilation, Levi sunk down on his knees, desperately trying to get a hold of himself again. But it hurt too much. He was so jealous, so lonely, so miserable. "It's not fair..." He mumbled, embracing his legs with his shaking arms. "Not fair, not fair, not fair..." His sobs slowly changing from pained to sad, his head sunk to rest on his knees. "I don't need friends... I don't... Need them... I..."
Envy is an ugly, painful, disgusting feeling. It devours you from inside, and once you are too focused on what others have, you lose sight of what you have yourself. ... But that's what friends are for. And it was about time that someone showed Leviathan what he could be proud of. The demon didn't register the knock on his door, being to immersed in his feelings. "... Levi?" Only MC's voice was able to make him raise his head. However they flinched slightly, seeing the state that Leviathan was in. "Are you okay?" MC asked. Multiple thoughts rushed through Levi's head, all at once. Could this be his salvation? MC! He was so glad to see their face! But they must be grossed out by him... Maybe they came to laugh at him. He shouldn't be happy. He shouldn't get close to them. They would hurt him anyway. "... What do you want?" Levi asked. MC gestured at the full plate in their hand. "You missed dinner today again, so I thought I'd bring it to you." Levi's expression flinched in confusion. "... Why are you being nice to me?" He asked instead of reaching for the plate. "Should I not be?" The demon bit his lip. "... There is no point in being friendly to me. So go be with my brothers or something..." Irritated, MC tilted their head before crouching down in front of Levi. Putting down the food next to him, they kept mustering the demon. "Well..." MC mumbled. "We were going to watch some movies now, would you like to join u-" "Why would I want to watch you have fun with my brothers!?" Levi interrupted them. "Also, it's not like anyone would want me to be there anyway, so you don't need to ask me to hang out out of pity..." "L... Levi, that is not true-" "OF COURSE IT IS TRUE!" Levi cried out. "Who would wand a gross, lousy failure like me around them?! I'm just a worthless otaku with no friends that isn't good at ANYTHING, so quit trying to cheer me up, I know you're only saying this because you feel sorry for my miserable self..." But MC wouldn't leave his side. "Levi, I'm not lying. We're all worried about you." For a second, Levi met their gaze, however he would only shake his head. "No... So I am THAT pathetic, huh? All of you are talking behind my back, about what a hopeless piece of trash I am..." "No, Levi, it's-" "STOP TRYING TO TELL ME I'M NOT WORTHLESS" Levi shouted, his eyes bearing so much pain. "I'm not good enough for anything, not compared to all you others... So leave me alone, and go have fun, go smile your pretty smile to all those other people, I don't care!! I'm used to being alone, I don't need my brothers, or you, or friends or anything pathetic as that...!!" His eyes filled with tears again. "I-I've seen you have fun with them, so don't waste your time with me... You are a nice person, so I'm glad to see you... Get along... With... Everyone..." His face wrinkled as if biting into something bitter, pressing out those words. "So just ignore me... I don't need you... I... I don't need anyone. Don't need to laugh with others and go outside and live through adventures or talk to people or anything... pathetic as that... I don't need... A friend..." "But I want to be with you." Levi stopped his miserable ramble. He looked up, into their eyes. "I would like to be friends with you, Levi" MC said, looking back in determination. Levi seemed dazzled. "N... No..." He mumbled. "You're lying. You must be... There's no way that-" "I am not lying." Levi flinched. "B-but... I told you, I'm pathetic, gross, a LOSER! You'd be better off avoiding me, hating me! There's nothing likeable about me..." He would stop ranting, spitting out insults and words dripping with self-loathing. MC took a look around his room, thinking about a way to stop him... Their gaze stopped at his monitors. "Hey, this is Persona 5, right? I know that game" They said. And then, they gave a contemplative nod. "And I think this game is the best example of what you need right now." "... Huh?" MC turned to lock eyes with the demon. "A confidant." Levi seemed troubled. "... A confidant is nothing other than a friend, and I told you, I don't need th-" "The confidants in the game used to have a deal, right?" MC gave a smile. "They give each other something in return. And I think what you need is someone to show you positive sides of friendship... And of yourself." Levi's eyes widened. "I'm... I'm not great in any way-" "I personally don't know you enough to say, yet" MC continued. "But I'd like to know you better. So, if you let me be closer to you, without trying to push me away... I will try and give you self-confidence in return." A blush painted Levi's cheeks, but he remained unsure. "... That is a stupid deal. You're not gaining anything out of being closer to me." MC gave a contemplative sigh. "Then, how about you lend me your powers?" "... You want to form a pact with me?" They gave a nod. "Would that make you feel less... Left out?" The demon averted his eyes, but slowly gave a nod. "Maybe... B-but what if you'll regret it? I'm really not worthy of your time..." "Levi" MC called out. "Let me be the judge of that. We won't be immediate best friends... But we'll start at confidant rank one, and work our way towards becoming friends... Okay?" Standing up, they reached out a hand. And with glistening eyes, Levi took hold of them. "... I will probably be a nuisance, but if that's what you want, then... Yes. We have a deal." Hesitating, Levi had yet to speak the words to seal the pact, but, gathering all the courage MC had given him now, his lips curled in his excited little smile. "Let's... Let's do the pact the Persona way... To really be confidants." Clearing his throat, he began channeling the magic to form a pact with the human. And he spoke:
"I am thou, thou art I.
Though hast acquired a new vow.
It shall become the wings of rebellion
That breaketh thy chains of captivity.
With the birth of the Envy Persona,
I have obtained the winds of blessing that
shall lead to freedom and new power."
While Leviathan cited the game's words, MC felt an incredible power rushing through them. For a moment, their heart was filled with endless passion and creativity, flooding her soul in strong waves. But they could also feel a deep hole of fear and self-loathing piercing through their heart. When Levi had finished, they stared into each other's eyes. To MC's surprise, Levi's were filled with tears. And he smiled. "... Thank you, MC... For giving me a chance."

My Review of Magical Girl Site
Tumblr media
How did I get into this anime? I…huh…Good question! I don’t recall. Probably some other anime reviewers mentioned it and I put it on the Amazon/Netflix list hoping I won’t have to watch it any time soon. Two years later and here we are!
Tumblr media
Aya Asagiri’s life is a living hell. She is constantly bullied at school and no one does a thing to stop it. Her teachers don’t care about her well-being. Her father barely notices she exists. And to top it off, her brother beats the crap out of her just for him to relieve stress! Is it any wonder that she wants to commit suicide? One night, her computer mysteriously turns on to a website, promoting Aya to become a magical girl. She brushed it off and thought nothing of it…
That is until the next morning when she finds a note and a gun in her shoe locker. After being tortured by her bullies and almost raped, she finds herself at the end of her ropes and pulls out the mysterious gun. When she pulled the trigger, her bullies disappeared. Turns out, the targets are transported to another place. In the case of some of her bullies, they were transported to in front of a moving train.
Tumblr media
Karma, bitches!
It’s unknown why Aya was specifically chosen to become a magical girl, but fellow magical girl Yatsumura feels she could use Aya’s magic to combat a looming threat to other magical girls. But they must not overuse their magic, otherwise they will die.
BETWEEN THE SUB AND THE DUB: As of this moment, this anime seems to be in the capable hands of Amazon Prime. And we all know how well they treat animes, right?! Hahaha! Funny! Anyways, don’t expect a dub! The cast seems to be comprised of many female seiyuus I’m not particularly familiar with. I mean with the exception of Aina Suzuki, I hear her sounds every day thanks to the Love Live game apps! Add to that the creepy, raspy voice of Frieza playing the site administrator! One voice actor however I heard the second he let out a creepy, hygena-like laugh, I knew exactly who this crazy bastard was! Nobuhiko Okamoto plays a great psychopath. Here’s what you might recognize these folks from.
*Aya is played by Yuuko Oono
*Yatsumura is played by Himika Akaneya
*Sarina is played by Haruka Yamazaki (known for Ruka on Hayate the Combat Butler, Mero on Monster Musume, Aika on High School DxD, and Natsumi on Danganronpa 3)
*Nijimi is played by Yuu Serizawa (known for Shera on How Not to Summon a Demon Lord)
*Shioi is played by Aina Suzuki (known for Mari on Love Live Sunshine)
AUTOMATICLY THROWN ON DISLIKED LIST: Okay children, who automatically ends up on my hate list for life?
Tumblr media
Fuckers who commit rape and fuckers who kill animals for fun!
Damn right! Give this anime some credit for not showing Aya’s bullies throwing a cat in front of a moving train. If this were 10 years ago, they probably would have animated it and I would have been puking afterward. I’m not sure which of Aya’s bullies threw a cat in front of a moving train, but for the time being, I’m throwing them all on the list.
And while I’m here, Sarina! She was like the ring-leader in the bullying of Aya. I’m almost certain she’s the bitch that killed the stray cat but I have no proof of that. With my history with horrible people like that, I have no sympathy for bullies in the slightest and feel she got what was coming to her. Bitch, you got that big, ugly scar on your neck for a reason. You got what was coming!
Tumblr media
DEFINITELY BELONGS IN DISLIKE HISTORY: Now that I got the usual gripe off my chest, gotta add Aya’s onii-chan, Kaname! Sweet merciful crap, do I love hearing Nobuhiko Okamoto play a psychopath, but this is going way too far. And Kaname is just irredeemable! He has this complex that makes him think he’s on God-tier and everyone else is beneth him. Now I do have to hate Kaname and Aya’s father for placing this kind of pressure on Kaname and beating the shit out of him if he gets bad grades. But good fuck, this guy just pushes past the line of no return when he tries to manipulate little girls, steal their power, and lose control. And this wasn’t like he had no control over his own body and wants to stop this from happening! Kaname meant every thing he did to his sister and her friends. OH…and that one guy he forced to off himself! I just can’t even with this guy!
Tumblr media
SHIPPING: I know a lot of people ship the hell out of Aya and Yatsumura and yeah, I can see that and I would ship them too. But for reals, I just want these two girls to live a life of peace together for as long as they’re around. For fuck’s sake, did you see the shit they put up with in their lives? Aya was bullied relentlessly at home and school. Yatsumura watched her whole family be slaughtered by a creep. These girls deserve some sort of peace! I know this is the shipping category, but I felt the need to say this.
Tumblr media
STICKS: Okay anime, what are you doing? Aya uses a magical gun! Sarina uses a magical yo-yo! Nijimi uses magical panties (insert immature laugh here)! Yatsumura uses a magical remote! How hard is it to have them say that! And I probably shouldn’t put blame on the anime and holler at the manga! But calling magical items “Sticks”, that feels…I don’t want to say stupid, but I can’t think of any other word to go along with that. I just feel like the manga was on some deadline and they were frantically finishing what to call their magical items and just went “FUCK IT, IT’S STICKS”.
Tumblr media
COULD HAVE FOOLED ME: In the “Could have fooled me” category we have a boy who identifies as a girl magical girl! Man, 2018 definitely was the progressive AF year! I mean, we had Lily from Zombieland Saga, we had the girls who transformed into magical buff men in Magical Girl Ore, and now THIS! So we have Kiyo! An openly transgendered magical girl that’s not a token joke! Okay, well done guys! Pearl points all around!
Tumblr media
ENDING: Early in the series, we learned about a moment called “The Tempest”. A catastrophic even set to take place once enough negative energy is caught. There are a lot of Magical Girl Site administrators that take advantage of “POOR UNFORTUNATE SOULS”. They pick the most unfortunate girls as pawns in their game. And once “The Tempest” hits, everyone will die and the world will start over anew. Aya and Yatsumura end up meeting new magical girl allies and even a few that were coersed by different administrators. Not to mention one of Aya’s bullies is a magical girl too with a score to settle! What could be worse?
Tumblr media
How about we add Aya’s disgusting brother to this mix?! As I’ve mentioned before, Aya’s brother Kaname would use Aya as a personal punching bag in order to get rid of stress. When Aya became a magical girl, she would spend more time with Yatsumura or the other girls, leaving Kaname to go without slugging his sister. So fuckface over here manipulates another magical girl, Nijimi to do what he says. This leads to him stealing Nijimi’s underwear and gaining her magical power of mind control. I never thought I would have to say a sentence like that, but here we are.
Tumblr media
Kaname went out of control with this power as he managed to injure all of the girls and give a fatal blow to Nijimi. But another possible enemy dropped a bomb on us when they kidnapped Kaname. THEN, these girls are targeted at Nijimi’s funeral and they almost died. Add another plot-twist, a police officer that’s been seen from time to time in a lot of the tragedies in the show is in cahoots with one of the magical girl site administrators. This keeps getting fuckier by the minute! Well, the girls felt it was time to take action and try to take out the administrators that screwed them with this doomed fate. But once they took out one of the administrators, they came across an ugly truth.
Sight administrators are magical girls who died previously!
Yeah, not that big of a shock! Madoka Magica gave us magical girls who end up so corrupt that they become witches they’re supposed to fight. While some of the administrators ended up falling to these girls, Nana (the creepy one we’ve been watching since ep 1) is the hardest one to take out. She ends up killing Yatsumura (because she used up too much of her power), but then manipulates her to become an administrator.
Tumblr media
Once she manipulated Yatsumura, she ends up going after Aya. And after a lot of back-and-forth between the two girls, Yatsumura was able to snap out of Nana’s control and they managed to take out Nana. And we end the series with a brighter future for Aya and Yatsumura as their lives become a little less unfortunate.
Yeah, few issues here!
1.) There are still a butt-load of site administrators. Isn’t there still a “Tempest” going to happen? 2.) Aya and Yatsumura’s lives aren’t in danger anymore after using fuck-tons of their power? WTF?! 3.) What was the point of Aya shooting herself to get Yatsumura back? I am not following you. Is this some sort of Insception shit?! 4.) That detective! Misumi was his name? Why was he just casually talking to Nana a few episodes back? 5.) Why don’t we see him until the final few moments in the finale? 6.) WHY DID HE RAPE KANAME?! 7.) WHY WAS THIS SCENE A THING? 8.) I don’t want to say Kaname deserved it, buuuuuut… Uuuggghhh…Mumble, mumble. I can’t finish that thought. 9.) These site administrators are probably pissed and are going to want revenge on these magical girls. What’s going on here?
…Let me guess, I need to read the manga to get all my questions answered…
FUCKING FIGURES!
Tumblr media
Seriously...what Misumi did. That scene is forever etched in my brain forever. Next to that scene of Kaname wiggling his junk in front of a guy.
This anime was pretty bad. No wait...
This anime was way too edgy for me! Episode 1 was just absolute torture porn involving Aya. The first episode managed to combine the bully scene in Vivid Strike, the puppy killing scene in Elfen Lied, and every bullying episode of Hell Girl all into one single episode. As for the rest of this series, they go above and beyond to grab some of the worst aspects of other animes and implement them here. Aya’s older brother almost has a God-complex that rivals that of Light Yagami of Death Note. Nijimi has a devoted fan that’s almost crossing over from the movie Perfect Blue. Body mutilation scenes on levels not seen since Higurashi! And fill this world up with the worst kinds of humans imaginable like in Elfen Lied! This was just too much hatred! Too much!
Add to that, there’s absolutely no resolution to this story. Yes, Aya and Yatsumura are alive and together. But guys, there are still some other-worldly strong site administrators looming! Tempest is still happening. KANAME IS STILL FUCKING ALIVE…literally and figuratively speaking! And with how much this anime has been panned by anime fans across the board, I doubt if this anime will ever receive a sequel. Guys, if you want a really good 12-episode anime about magical girls with an edge, just watch Madoka Magica. But if you’re a curious idiot like me, whatever, you do you!
As this anime is an Amazon Prime exclusive, I’m afraid that’s the only legal outlet for this.
Now that this is over, my next Amazon/Netflix/Crunchyroll anime is…
Tumblr media
Grand Blue!
Oh, it’s set in a cute ocean town. Am I going to enjoy some cute absurdity like I did with Tsuritama?
Sort of!
Tumblr media
OH GOOD FUCK, WHAT FRAT HOUSE WAS THIS BIRTHED FROM?!

March 28th-April 3rd, 2020 Creator Babble Archive
The archive for the Creator Babble   chat that occurred from March 28th, 2020 to April 3rd, 2020.  The chat focused on the following question:
How many hours do you work on your comic per week, and how do you manager to balance that with other responsibilities?
Holmeaa - working on WAYFINDERS
heheh So we are.. cheating a bit Both me and my coworker are unemployed, and is working on hour comic, like was it a full time job. It is our passion project, and dream that we can work and live of makeing comics. In Denmark you can apply for grants from the government, but you need to have releashed a book before that is possible. We are useing the comic, to show potentional clients in the future what we can do. For now we are working on it from 09:00-17:00 ish (with a long lunch break) while applying for other kinds of grants, and also does all the things we are supposed to to get our unemplyment money, and searching for jobs, and freelance gigs, gathering the courage to start our own small company (not right now though) and yeaah time will tell
carcarchu
@Holmeaa - working on WAYFINDERS that doesn't sound like cheating to me? more like using the tools at your disposal to turn your passion into a viable career
Holmeaa - working on WAYFINDERS
hehe it feels a little like cheating! there are some debates about if it is okay or not, but we think that strengthening our skills is a good use of our time
eli [a winged tale]
Haha also not cheating! It’s great you’re using the time to chase the dream I’m curious what’s your breakdown for those time working on the comic? As for me, usually 1-2 hours a day with a bit more on the weekend if time permits. These days with the quarantine it’s about 2-3 h a day
DanitheCarutor
Since I'm unemployed until who knows when I've been working on my comic between 40-50 hours a week about 6 to 7 days a week... most weeks. Some days, like update day or chore day, I hardly work on the comic or don't work on it at all. Admittedly I'm not the best at balancing drawing with other responsibilities, sometimes I get so into it that I forget about daily house chores, other weeks I do the opposite and only do house chores which makes me totally behind of comic stuff. I can't seem to find a good middle ground, it always turns into completely focusing on one or the other.
eli [a winged tale]
Yeah when I get in the zone, time flies and life gets put to the wayside
shadowhood (SunnyxRain)
So I have no school or work, so the webcomic has become almost a fulltime project for me
I average about 10 hours per day working on it, not counting on chores and exercise
Another thing I worry about is the possibility of carpal tunnel syndrome, which is why I've been relentless with exercise, too
I guess it's just a combination of relentless reminders and also sheer willpower that gets me to do other responsibilities haha
@eli [a winged tale] also I know that feeling
Joichi [Hybrid Dolls]
So since my school had to cancel, I have to be more responsible for my online course. Sometimes I give myself 2 days off each week to work more into my upcoming webcomic but I have to switch my mind for school work, online classes. Also extra time for food. I need to get back into exercise or I feel exhausted more easily. I keep a wall schedule so that I make it a routine to write what I'll do every 3 or 5 days, to keep my active brain reminded(edited)
LadyLazuli (Phantomarine)
I spent the majority of last year (fun)employed (partially by choice, partially not! my previous job let me go rather unceremoniously... and I needed a hiatus anyway... so it worked out) so I poured a lot more hours into that chapter of Phantomarine than I usually did. I worked on it almost every day - at least for a couple of hours, but sometimes up to a full eight-hour day. That number has dipped tremendously since I’ve gone back to work, but I’m spreading the same amount of time out in a broader way. I’m trying to get a good buffer during my hiatus, so I can work and draw in a healthy balance. I don’t have crazy overtime at my current job like I did at my last one, so that’s already a comfort. I’m confident I’ll be able to hit a good stride once the comic returns in June (edited)
eli [a winged tale]
Can’t wait Lady!!
Feather J. Fern
Two part time jobs, and school killed my comic, but I been working on getting one panel done a day, which is around 30minutes to an hour if possible.
eli [a winged tale]
My routine used to be rendering on the commute but now just once in am and once pm until this limbo time is clarified
That’s awesome Feather! It’s so rewarding when everything comes together after putting effort everyday
Feather J. Fern
Once school is done in two more weeks I will be more free to do things so I hope to get maybe two panels done in a day XD
Online school, stupid quarantine
Tuyetnhi (Only In Your Dreams!)
Due to the pandemic im mostly off school and my part time job so i spend like 4-5 hours on my comic per day. Still would like try to get a page done per day but lmao digital painting is slowwww
eli [a winged tale]
What’s everyone’s tips for breaks/stretches/balance? I feel like I certainly need to revisit these to avoid burnout and continue feeling motivated!
Feather J. Fern
Actually there was a cool manga artist who's tip was literally he only worked working hours. His mornings are free and since manga was his job, he worked form 12-6, giving him 2 hours to do other work he needs to get done, and takes morning walks and stuff.
Another person I know had "No working weekends" as a thing becuase they are a freelancer.
I personally have try to make sure I ahve a routine, and actually, stretch before drawing.
Streetch before, during a break, and then after, to keep that body nice and warmed up
keii’ii (Heart of Keol)
Health-wise there's this hing for your : every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds. I'm not good at following this, but when I do it, it helps a lot.
Cronaj (Whispers of the Past)
Despite the current pandemic, my work-life hasn't changed much (unless you count stress getting in the way). I am currently "unemployed," but I do consider comicking my full-time job. I am also not very good at balancing work and life. Something's always gotta give. Last year, I worked at a job that basically ruined my ability to work on my comic. I worked 30-40 hours typically, ruined my sleep schedule, took work home sometimes, and was constantly exhausted. This is what resulted in my year and a half long hiatus, and it's what drove me to work like hell on my comic when I quit. Now (when I'm in the groove and not suffering from art block), I typically spend 60-70 hours on my comic and get 2-3 pages done: - 30 hours sketching (I know, ridiculous) - 5 hours filling in base colors - 20-25 hours painting - 5 hours adding text, speech bubbles, sfx, and finishing touches - 1-2 hours formatting for Webtoon I also spend some time throughout the week typing up the script, doing concept art for things coming in the future of the comic, and preparing for conventions, but I can't tell you exactly how much time.
eli [a winged tale]
Thanks for the breakdown! I’m always keen to learn from everyone and seeing how the workflow is like for different people
shadowhood (SunnyxRain)
oh don't forget to do wrist stretches!
eli [a winged tale]
Ahh formatting time is always so tedious for me!
Yes wrist exercises! Any recommendations?
shadowhood (SunnyxRain)
hmmm well the easiest one is literally just shaking it out
like every hour
and I also like to hold my arm out parallel, point my fingers up and using my other hand to pull the fingers back so i'm stretching the wrist
then I point the fingers down and pull on the fingers until my wrist is stretching
eli [a winged tale]
Awesome. Will be adopting those!
Eightfish (Puppeteer)
I'm pretty fast. 2-6 hours per page, depending on how detailed it is. Average of 3-4. I could probably do 2 pages/ week easily enough, but don't want to do more than that. I'm the kind of person who always needs to be doing a million different things. I need to leave time for my other hobbies and my paintings and my academics and extracurriculars. Otherwise I'd get burnt out doing one thing only
Holmeaa - working on WAYFINDERS
@eli [a winged tale] So since it is both me and @Q (Wayfinders: Off Course) working, we start with working on a rough each, our goal is one step (so rough, ink, color) for two pages pr day, pr person. So in a weak the goal is four finished pages a week, and then we upload 3 pages per week. So it is divided that in the morning we start at 09:00 in the morning, maybe checking mail, being practical or whatever. Then we work until 12:00 were we eat lunch, go for a long nice walk and then we go back to work between 13:00 and 14:00 ish and then work until 17:00 when we begin to prepare dinner. Then of course breaks inbetween
Q (Wayfinders: Off Course)
It’s pretty wild to be able to dedicate your entire day to comics like that
shadowhood (SunnyxRain)
damn you all work fast
do you guys have any tips on how to work on a webcomic faster?
Cronaj (Whispers of the Past)
Lol, I wish!
Still looking for those magical secrets
Eightfish (Puppeteer)
@shadowhood (SunnyxRain) You know the 80-20 rule? You can get 80% of the result with 20% of the effort? My comic is very messy if you zoom in. I don't spend time making sure the linework or the coloring is perfectly clean. Also, I'm pretty fast at drawing figures. I used to practice figure drawing a lot by rushing to draw strangers irl before they moved, or by drawing a bunch of fast figures from the free figure drawing model websites online. I've also taken a figure drawing course (didn't even have to pay because it was part of my university! Even if you don't have that option you can probably find free life drawing sessions on Meetup or similar!) which really helped me streamline my process for drawing people
shadowhood (SunnyxRain)
Oh I see! Yes, I used to take life drawing classes too! And your response makes me feel a lot better
I tend to be a bit messy with inking, and since i'm a perfectionist a lot of my time is wasted on editing/clean up
Eightfish (Puppeteer)
I've seen cronaj draw, and while I think the results look excellent, I think her method is a kind of inefficient. She draws like a printer, nearly finishing one detailed body part before moving on the the next. I think maybe if she drew in a more classical way, going from a gesture drawing to progressively more detailed, it might help her be faster and her poses more cohesive and dynamic. Maybe working on 1 or 5 min figures would help? Practicing things like this?
eli [a winged tale]
Yeah I try to do figure practices for efficiency
shadowhood (SunnyxRain)
I heard that there are some online life drawing vids you can follow too
but what are your experiences with online life drawing vids versus the real thing
like is there a real difference?
Eightfish (Puppeteer)
found some of my old 1 minutes
To me there's not too much difference
I've heard some people say that life drawing is either way easier or way harder though. Because of your depth perception when looking at a real person
But the bruises on my legs can attest to my horrid depth perception haha. That might be why I don't notice a difference
Actually those previous sketches might be 30 seconds? I don't remember
I would recommend you try both but right now we pretty much only have the online option haha
eli [a winged tale]
Yeah I’ve done both and I think irl creates complexity with depth and the interactions with others etc is helpful but online is my go to for flexibility
I think having a process streamlined will make things more efficient. The downside is that it might feel tedious and I do switch it up from time to time for variety
Eightfish (Puppeteer)
Might feel uncomfortable but that's how you know you're improving
keii’ii (Heart of Keol)
There is a TON of difference for me. I HAVE to look at a physical model in front of me.
Eightfish (Puppeteer)
Can't get better if you always do the same things
keii’ii (Heart of Keol)
This is what my brain does.
Eightfish (Puppeteer)
I wonder- could drawing yourself in a mirror be a decent substitute?
If youre lucky you might also be able to ask an SO or roommate to model for you. Should probably pay them back by cooking for them or something though
keii’ii (Heart of Keol)
Brain: sees a real model in front of me Brain: translates 3D to 2D, result: drawing Brain: sees a photo/video of a model Brain: SHIT. That's supposed to be 3D, isn't it? Brain: Translates 2D to 3D (basically re-constructing it in my head, or attempting to re-construct) so that it can translate it back to 2D Brain: BSOD
There's some online resources out there that have "3D" photos... you know, two near-identical images side by side, so if you look at it cross-eyed, it becomes 3D?
But I can't do those because I get a headache X'D
Eightfish (Puppeteer)
Just thinking about drawing from that makes me dizzy
eli [a winged tale]
Oh interesting!
Yeah maybe looking out the window to draw people would be the way to go...
Eightfish (Puppeteer)
But maybe figure drawing in VR exists?
eli [a winged tale]
Balcony figure drawings
Eightfish (Puppeteer)
I live on the top floor so those are going to be some very small figures
eli [a winged tale]
For ants
keii’ii (Heart of Keol)
Once this coronavirus thing is over, there's lots of ways you can do gesture drawings from just random people -- bus stops, cafes, museums (I have not done this, but people who have done this report this is really good because others assume you're drawing the artworks. XD)
Eightfish (Puppeteer)
I've done this a lot
Sometimes I've even shown people drawing of themselves if they've turned out particularly nice
They've always taken it well
shadowhood (SunnyxRain)
I like drawing my professors because they use hand gestures a lot when they talk
keii’ii (Heart of Keol)
Airport was REALLY good for finding people stuck in one pose indefinitely
shadowhood (SunnyxRain)
they alwayas laugh when I show them
eli [a winged tale]
Shadow omg I do that too
Draws classmates
shadowhood (SunnyxRain)
yeah the only issue i have with drawing classmates
is that they're always doing the "i'm using my phone" pose
keii’ii (Heart of Keol)
Become the master of drawing people on their phones
Eightfish (Puppeteer)
Maybe try drawing children on the playground?
This works better if you're a woman
shadowhood (SunnyxRain)
oh thank jesus
I also like going to the zoo or the museum
or the aquarium if i'm feeling adventurous
Eightfish (Puppeteer)
I am a University student so I also have some pretty interestng drawings of people asleep in weird poses
keii’ii (Heart of Keol)
I really need to start going to weekly figure drawing sessions once this is over (there's one here... 20 min drive... 8AM Saturdays )
shadowhood (SunnyxRain)
ditto or just go to the park and draw
and @Eightfish (Puppeteer) I've had some.....weird poses from all my profs
one guy was incredibly hard to draw; he was VERY enthusiastic about showing us knife skills
keii’ii (Heart of Keol)
The parks here are too spacious, to a degree where it's weird to get close enough to people
Eightfish (Puppeteer)
Bring binoculars
shadowhood (SunnyxRain)
Don't worry ma'am I'm an artist
nothing sketchy
Eightfish (Puppeteer)

like.....opera/plays
I once tried drawing the men dancing in the Newsies musical
Eightfish (Puppeteer)
Tried that once, but it took me out of the performance
shadowhood (SunnyxRain)
same i was dazzled by dancing men
aaaaand then i abandoned sketching at all when they started throwing newspaper strips into the audience
Eightfish (Puppeteer)
But they were giving you free paper!
shadowhood (SunnyxRain)
THEY WERE
i'll take what i can get
Cronaj (Whispers of the Past)
@Eightfish (Puppeteer) While I agree that my method of drawing is "inefficient," I do not draw like a printer. There are videos of people drawing like a printer and it's not what I'm doing. I have done gesture drawing before, but it always looked incredibly abstract, and not quite like people, which is fine, but not what I'm going for. I treat gesture drawing like a warm-up exercise. It doesn't really do anything for my end result, but gets my drawing muscles stretched out.(edited)
eli [a winged tale]
Gesture drawings are definitely a good warmup!
Eightfish (Puppeteer)
Perhaps it was an inappropriate analogy. What works for me I guess wouldn't work for everyone. I was trying to offer advice because whenever you talk about how much time you spend on art and you work life balance it's commendable but also dismaying. I hope you find something that works for you in the future
sssfrs (JOE IS DEAD)
Oh god.. I sometimes work 6 hours a day. I guess thats like 30 hours a week? Crazy to think about, it's like a full job
Oooh you guys are sharing figure drawings... I swant to show some of mine
Behold
sssfrs (JOE IS DEAD)
My figure drawing usually breaks down into like, medical anatomy study. I feel like I understand body shapes better by including the muscles & bones

Deo101 [Millennium]
ah figure drawing? I love figure drawing ^^
I do like a lot but this kinda thing is most of it
anyways as for the question at hand, I do a lot of different things for my comics weekly. My millennium pages take me 2-6 hours i would say, but I also have patreon things I need to do so I'd say i spend 10-15 hours on it a week. for my other comic, I spend about 6 hours an update, and it updates every other week. but honestly, all of my free time goes to assorted comics. If i'm not working on school work or chatting with people, I'm working on things for patreon, potential merch, or other comics I want to start sometime.
sssfrs (JOE IS DEAD)
Oooh nice poses!!’
Deo101 [Millennium]
thanks!! I have a ton of gesture/figure drawings but these ones are my most recent that I have saved to my computer i think
10 minutes im pretty sure. very good for speeding up
sssfrs (JOE IS DEAD)
Those look really nice, good values
Deo101 [Millennium]
thanks ^^ I really hate working in charcoal honestly, it kinda always winds up hurting my body somehow, but its very quick sooooooo

My answer for the prompt question has changed a lot since I started quarantine lmao... I used to do about 10 hours of work throughout the week on my comic page (usually after work, I have an office job) but ironically it’s gotten harder while I work from home. I’ve been struggling to find time since I don’t have a separation between work and home now, and putting the boundaries up of “I’m not always available” to coworkers is difficult.
Also on figure studies: they’re a great way to practice speed. I use the concepts of figure drawings all the time.
RebelVampire
@kayotics As someone who always works from home doing remote contract work, I have to say I think this is something a lot of people underestimate about work at home life. In that it's sometimes really difficult to establish boundaries with ppl and make them understand you aren't always available and also aren't gonna work billions of hours of overtime. So I'm sorry to hear that's affecting your comic work.
Shadowmark Productions
I work anywhere from 6-8 hours a day on comic stuff. That’s an average though. Sometimes I slack and need to pull all nighters to make up for it. Yes, I am terrible at time management. They say entrepreneurs are the only people willing to work 80 hours a week for themselves so they do not have to work 40 hours a week for someone else. I guess webcomic creators are the only people willing to work 80+ hours a week so that they can... go to work for someone else afterwards
AntiBunny
4 days of procrastinating, 1 of procrastinating and hating myself, and 2 of actual comic drawing seems to make up my weekly comic making schedule. :p
sssfrs (JOE IS DEAD)
I can only imagine how stressed I would be if I forced myself to update weekly
Cap’n Lee (Flowerlark Studios)
This is a hard question to answer because it varies a lot depending on my energy levels. Ideally I’d spend several hours a day on comics, but realistically I draw as much as possible when I have the energy (5+ hours a day for as many days in a row as I can handle it) and then go weeks or months too tired to do comics. On average, barring any long periods of exhaustion or other interruptions from RL, I spend about 20+ hours a week making pages for my comics.
sagaholmgaard
I prefer to work on my comic for about an hour ever morning and maybe 2-3 hours in the evening, that's the ideal routine for me. Right now I sadly have a lot of schoolwork to do (writing my thesis) so i might get less than 30 minutes in the morning and then feel rlly tired in the evening so I dont get as much time then either. but oh well!
I can still work for 4-5 hours on the weekends so I manage ^^(edited)
chalcara [Nyx+Nyssa]
The whole stay-indoors order's currently completely wrecked my pattern, but before that I did between 3-4 hours a day.
Shadowmark Productions
Can’t imagine the stress of a daily or even weekly posting schedule. Hats off.

Happy SAO pride week!
Virtual world vs Real world Fanfiction under the cut! ^_^
Kazuto closed the door behind him and sat on his bed. His room, an androgynous grey to his design, surrounded him with comfort. He didn’t even need to look when he reached for the amusphere, which had been sitting in it’s familiar spot on his bedside table like always. Setting it on his head and closing the visor over his eyes, he closed them and welcomed the split second of darkness before he could say “Link Start!” Whenever Kazuto closed his eyes, he couldn’t help but remember the hours that came before. Usually the most interesting thing that happened at school came to mind. Other days’ topics were things like dinner. Today was different. He could feel himself wince as he reminisced on the most spotlight-worthy interaction of today.  “You look like a boy,” Mixed reactions filled his head. What would’ve been considered an insult on regular terms made him filled with joy. But what followed...
“Yeah that’s actually really weird. Why do you do that?”
He remembered the feeling of being at loss for words. He remembered being alone like always and praying that a stranger would come and interrupt the situation. It’s not that they were intentionally singling out. Or maybe they were. It was just an incredibly difficult question. Why?
Why is it such a difficult thing to do. To dress and act the way I truly am? I’d say it’s far more stranger to put on that stupid mask every day and act like I’m happy. Truthfully I can’t stand it. I don’t know how you guys can. For as long as I can remember, it’s made me feel awful. I’ve finally made the choice to act for myself. Is that so bad?
Kazuto sighed as he regretted not saying those words in that moment. If only he could’ve frozen time in that moment to give himself enough time to think about something cool like that to say.
Realizing almost 5 minutes had passed of him sitting in complete darkness making faces to himself, he said the command to boot up the amusphere.
“Link start!”
Kazuto loved the virtual world. He had since he was a kid. His virtual name, “Kirito” was the first masculine name he chose for himself, and it felt so strange, but so good. When he first put it in the system, it felt so different compared to his given name. Every time he put his given name on anything, it felt like there was a sickness ready to make his brain collapse in on itself.
This is normal, he grew up thinking.
But why does he have to settle for what he’s handed? What’s the matter about taking matters into your own hands and fixing what’s broken? Is it so “weird” to find happiness for yourself? “Kirito...?”
He looked up to see his only friends looking at him. Their vibrantly colored elven avatars crowded the living room of his virtual home.
“What’s the matter? You look upset.” Silica said to him.
“Oh, sorry. Don’t worry about it, some girls just got on my nerves today. No big deal.”
“Wow look at you, chick magnet!” Lisbeth smirked. “You must be so popular to have enough girls on you to get annoyed about it!!
“I-”
“Bad news for them! You got the best girlfriend in the world sitting right here!” she exclaimed, pointing at Asuna, sitting on the couch just a few inches away from Kazuto. She had somewhat of a worried look on her face, staring straight at him.
“Girl, you gotta be tougher on him.”
“No she doesn’t!” Kazuto managed to inerject, remembering their time in early Aincrad. Asuna may seem like too much of a sweetheart for her own good on the surface, but when it comes down to it she can, will, and has kicked Kazuto’s ass.
“You know what Kirito, I don’t blame them. You really are a cutie.” Asuna said.
“Get a room.” Sinon joked.
“Eeh...”
“I’m serious Kirito!” Asuna began to get upset. Half joking with a side of concern.
“Yeah, listen to your girlfriend, Kirito. You’re a hansome boy!” Lisbeth added. “Everyone knows this!”
“That’s not funny. I’d never compliment Kirito. It’s against my moral code. I’d compliment anyone but Kirito” Sinon joked again. Kazuto let out a quiet chuckle at her teasing.
“I don’t blame you. He looks like a boy who’s just discovered punk music and is dipping his toes in the water. Like, he’s not dedicated enough to the genre, but he wears black in appreciation.” Lisbeth began the tease session.
“That was weak. He looks like he washes his clothes in nothing but coal because he spilled the detergent and is too nervous to go out and buy a new bottle.” Sinon followed up.
“Oh, oh!” Silica chimed in, “Kirito looks like a wannabe manga protagonist!”
“Please. He IS a wannabe manga protagonist”
The room erupted in laughter, but nobody was wheezing nearly as hard as Kazuto. He was nearly tearing up.
“Stop it you guys!”
He was grinning ear to ear, and his face red from laughing. As his laughing fit calmed slightly down, Asuna leaned over and looked him straight in the face. She had that terrifying, dead serious, determined look on her face that she made all the time in Aincrad.
“If people are giving you trouble, you tell them that your incredibly powerful girlfriend is on her way to get them with her intense gaming skills.”
The room interrupted in laughter yet again.
“I love you guys.” Kirito said when the laughter died down. “I’ve never met any of you in real life, but I want this to be my world so bad. Is that weird of me?”
“We spent two years in Aincrad. Those were undoubtly the best years of my life, because I could spend them with you guys. If i could be completely honest, I want more than anything to drop my real life and live in this world forever.”
Silica, Sinon, Lisbeth, and especially Asuna were listening attentively.
With this confession, Asuna knew just the slightest bit more about Kirito’s life in the real world. That it wasn’t as fortunate as hers. Although it made her feel slightly bad, she became determined to help and support Kirito even more.
“Kirito,”
“Hm?”
“Let’s meet up in real life.”
Sinon, Lisbeth, and Silica lit up in unison. The three were now excited to hear more about this plan.
“We can save up money and the whole gang can vacation to some place fun together!” Asuna said.
“Maybe a weekend in the summer somewhere? We could go some place like Osaka!” Silica added.
“Oh my gosh, yes! And maybe-” Lisbeth was suddenly interrupted by a saddened Kirito.
“I’m sorry. I don’t think I can...”
Kazuto truly wanted to be able to meet his only friends in the real world. You could see it on his face. But he was being held back by something.
“If you aren’t comfortable with it it’s totally fine, we don’t have to go this summer!” Asuna reassured. “Is everything okay?”
“Don’t worry about me. It’s getting late where I live. I should go to bed.” Kazuto said depressingly.
Everyone worriedly wished him goodnight and watched his avatar dissolve out of their virtual world.
“I really do hope everything is okay,” Asuna started. “I don’t want to pressure him to open up when he isn’t comfortable with it. I just want to be able to be there for him. I wish I could just teleport to his home in the real world and tell him everything is alright. Whatever he’s going through, I don’t want him to be alone in it.”
Kazuto removed the amusphere and looked out at the dusk sky. With the rollercoaster of emotions that today was, he was exhausted. Or at least that’s what he told himself.
He let down his ponytail and hid under his covers, wishing he could just skip trying to fall asleep and teleport to the next morning. Kazuto dreaded the thoughts that would flood his mind while he would try to fall asleep.
Closing his eyes harder didn’t prevent the floodgates from opening as he hoped.
In his time in aincrad, Kazuto was himself. He was Kirito. Although the Black Swordsman identity wasn’t exactly his cup of tea, he rest assured knowing that at least everyone saw him as he truly was. Male.
Kazuto remembered the moment Kayaba switched everyone’s avatars to represent their real selves. His stomach dropped as he saw his hair flow down his shoulders. As soon as the spectacle was over, he ran into an allyway, took his beginner sword, and sliced the length clean off. In that moment, he felt the literal and metaphorical weight off his shoulders. It wasn’t the best cut, but it got the job done. The rage and anger of the unfairness of it all manifested in that one cut. If only he could do that in the real world.
That’s when Klein found him, and where he left him. Part of the reason he left was so he wouldn’t feel guilty about lying to him, and he knew that. But what was he lying about?
Had he been lying to Asuna for those two years? Building their relationship off of a lie? Kazuto tried to stop the thought train from going to the place he dreaded, but it kept on rolling.
What if I told her and she hated me?
I wouldn’t blame her.
No. He has been living the truth. It just wasn’t the truth that reality wanted him to live. But it was the truth that he was. If Asuna hated him forever, then they weren’t meant to be.
But then two years wouldn’t have been wasted. If you told her in the beginning and she hated you, you wouldnt waste two years with her.
Tears started to manifest in his eyes, one slipping away into his long, tangled hair. What an awful way to think of his girlfriend. What an awful reality. He wished for nothing but to slip back away into the virtual world in that moment, just to be able to distract himself from this torture. But he had already told his friends he was going to bed. He would be caught with another lie on his hands.
Why not bring the virtual world to here?
Something, some force, made Kazuto shoot up out of bed. He wiped his wet eyes on his blanket and stormed to the bathroom. His footsteps echoed through the empty house. His sister and only other person in the house, was gone on a kendo trip. But even if she was home, nothing could stop his forward force. Nothing could stop his mysterious determination.
No. It’s not mysterious or weird. It’s what has to be done. It’s what has had to be done for a long time.
He opened his sister’s drawer and located the scissors, and grabbed the length of his hair with reddened knuckles and a furious grasp. Just like that, years worth of agony were draped on the bathroom floor. He swing his new, light head to the left and to the right. Not an unfamiliar feeling thanks to the likes of full dive, but surely it was different. It was new and refreshing, and it felt beautiful. Kazuto looked straight back at himself in the mirror and for the first time in what’s felt like a lifetime, he smiled. And with that, uncontrollable tears came flooding down his face.
This wasn’t the same crying that he’d been doing for years. This was liberation. He swept his own hands through his new look, and grinned ear to ear through his swollen, tear-stained face, and proceeded to make his way back to his room. With the weight of what felt like the world off his shoulders, Kazuto proceeded to sink into the most comfortable rest with a genuine smile on his face.

I made a post about this the night before last, and deleted it after because I wasn’t sure if I was going to keep watching or not, but since I think I am---
Out of boredom with all my regular shows, I decided to look for something new on Netflix. I flipped through the Japanese shows section to see if there was an anime or something I could watch when I came across a Jdrama (more like Jromcom) called Good Morning Call. Based off a shoujo manga, the basic premise is that high school students Yoshikawa Nao and Uehara Hisashi end up living together in an apartment because of scam contract that tricked them both into believing they’d be living there alone. While neither of them are happy about the arrangement at first, neither of them can afford solo rent, so they begrudgingly agree to live together. (And they were roommates.) This being adapted from a shoujo manga and all, it doesn’t take two brain cells to know that although they start out arguing all the time, they’re going to end up together in the end. But the sheer ridiculousness of this whole thing has me facepalming and laughing in turn. I mean . . .
First you have the basic set-up. This is literally the set up for countless shipping fics out there. I quoted the “and they were roommates” meme for a reason. But the presentation of basically everything in this show is ridiculously over the top. Uehara is one of the “Top 3″ at the school (i.e. the top three boys every girl is interested in), and this fact is highlighted by the fact that girls are screaming and cheering when he walks into the school for the day, his bag slung over his shoulder the way all Cool Anime Boys™ carry it, as he literally does not notice or acknowledge all of the attention. Nao has frequent flashbacks to things that literally just happened, and in either the first or second episode (I think the first?) has a moment where she stands in the middle of a hallway to have one such flashback sequence while no one acknowledges that she’s doing this. Everything she does is over the top, too; at one point she drapes herself across a hospital counter while lamenting her melodrama, and you can practically see the waterfall tears cascading down her face even though this is live action and there aren’t any. (This gets called out by another character, though, who asks her if she’s feeling ill, so at least THAT was lampshaded.) When Nao is embarrassed to see Uehara in the second episode given that he kissed her at the end of the first one (it makes sense in context), she doesn’t just cover her face as she walks by him, oh no---she runs back to her room to get a stuffed animal to cover her face with as she walks by him, which results in her tripping so that they can have an Accidental Gym Clothes Swap Shenanigan to be sorted out later in the day.
And speaking of that! So the entire premise of the show is based on the “And They Were Roommates” fic trope, right? But by episode two, we have Fake Dating, because Uehara reasons that’s easier to explain to everyone than the fact that they’re living together (since the fact that they’re living together is ~scandalous~ and all that). There’s also a bit of rescue romance in both the first and second episodes, Nao caring for a sick Uehara in the third episode, like . . . on top of being so goddamn anime, this is also so goddamn fanfiction. There are also already shades of it being your typical shoujo harem series in the fact that Nao has at least one other boy who seems interested in her at the moment (Daichi, one of the other Top 3 boys as befitting a shoujo heroine), and ofc Uehara has all his fangirls, too. Like, it’s shoujo cliché on top of shoujo cliché and also so very, very anime despite being live action. And they’re all so stupid?? Like almost every single character in this show is so stupid, ESPECIALLY Nao, like . . . right when they agree to live with each other Uehara sets out some basic rules (e.g. don’t go in each other’s rooms, don’t eat my food, etc), and Nao just . . . she has to go into his room at one point to turn off his six alarms because he forgot to turn them off before he went to work, but instead of gtfo-ing as soon as she does that, she starts looking around and breaks something of his. And then later, before she’s even made up for this, she sees two milk puddings in the fridge and is like, “oh, one of them must be for me!” like??? Sis, why would he buy you food? What has he POSSIBLY done to make you think he would BUY YOU A SNACK when the last time you saw each other he was pissed because you went into his room and broke something precious??? Sis, come ON!!
Basically, this is one of the dumbest shows I have ever watched. There’s a sequence in the third episode I WISH I could share where Beethoven’s “Ode to Joy” plays as shenanigans play out in slow motion (such as one of Nao’s classmates tripping and his coffee spilling, a bunch of oranges rolling down a hill as Yuri and Nao try to catch them, Nao falling in the process, etc), and it’s just so OVER THE TOP RIDICULOUS that it KILLS ME. This show is so dumb, so goddamn STUPID, and yet I don’t dislike or hate it. I want to keep watching it. This show and everyone in it is fucking stupid (Nao’s literally crying because she’s ~in love~ with Uehara when they’ve barely started to be friends, it’s been like two weeks maybe, and only three episodes kjfdsklfds), but it’s still a fun thing to watch, and I think that’s the crux of it. This show is stupid and has no substance, but it’s fun to watch. It’s nice to see Japan again, too (I MISS IT SO MUCH T_T THERE’S A SCENE WHERE NAO GOES INTO A KONBINI TO BUY A REPLACEMENT MILK PUDDING FOR UEHARA AND I /SOBS). It’s just stupid, and silly, and shallow, and fun. And sometimes we need a bit of that in our lives.
So yeah, for now I’m watching a Jromcom based on a shoujo manga called Good Morning Call. It is far from a work of art, but it’s fresh and new and I don’t mind spending my time on it, lol.

Day 7 - Past (AO3)
I am so, so, so late with this. I’m sorry. It was so hard to write this prompt?
------o------
“There is much to do, Iksoo,” his Master told him.
Iksoo nodded. He hadn’t been told the details of the prophecy that his Master had received, but he had understood that it was important enough to shake the entire Kingdom. Although the prophecy was mostly secret except amongst those in the royal family, Iksoo could feel the pressure and the change in the air.
“What would you have me do?” Iksoo asked.
“Tomorrow morning we will have to-” his Master started very seriously when his eyes widened and Iksoo realized a little too late that there was a very threatening presence behind him. Before he could even turn to see who it was, a fistful of his hair was grabbed and he was dragged backwards.
Iksoo cried out in pain.
“What are yo-” His Master shouted.
“Please let go of m-” Iksoo cut off when he felt the cold press of metal against his neck. Iksoo whimpered in acute fear.
Silence.
Iksoo couldn’t move, whoever was holding him in place was so strong, he couldn’t move an inch. Well, not like that was an option with a sword being pressed to his neck. His Master was quiet as well, staring with an indescribable look on his face.
Then his Master dipped down in a bow.
“How can I help you, Lord Yuhon?” he asked, his voice quiet but clear.
Iksoo’s body seized up with even more fear. He was no good with Yuhon. Iksoo had crossed paths with the man many times, but he had glared at Iksoo so fiercely, Iksoo had nearly fainted. He clearly didn’t like Iksoo or his Master and he rarely visited their temple, so why was he here now?
Who put you vipers up to this? Which one? One of the Ministers? Or maybe one of the Generals? Was it Joongi?” he snarled and his grip on the top of Iksoo’s head tightened.
Iksoo bit his lip to keep from crying.
“No one, my Lord,” Iksoo’s Master said. “I received the prophecy from the heavens and-”
“Don’t test my patience!” Yuhon shouted and the sword pierced skin.
Iksoo hiccuped in fear and tears spilled from his eyes. Iksoo’s Master looked up with a start, horror in his eyes.
“My Lord! Iksoo is a child!” He shouted.
“And your point is?” Yuhon scoffed.
“Please,” Iksoo whispered, so terrified, his voice barely came out at all.
“I knew I should have removed you from this palace sooner! You cheats, liars, corrupt bastards!” Yuhon shouted.
“We did nothi-” Iksoo’s Master said desperately and then Yuhon pulled on Iksoo’s hair. Iksoo cried out. “We’ll leave!” His Master shouted. “We’ll leave the palace! Just please! Let Iksoo go. He’s just a child, he hasn’t done anything to deserve this.”
“As if, he too is probably involved in y-” Yuhon started and Iksoo’s Master shook his head furiously.
“I have told him nothing,” he said.
“Then, I’ll let him go,” Yuhon pulled his sword away and pushed Iksoo forward. Iksoo stumbled, his sandal catching on a floor tile, and he fell to the floor. “But you will have to die here,”
Iksoo pushed himself up in panic. Yuhon was already striding towards his Master and Iksoo’s feet moved before he could stop himself. He threw himself in front of his Master, terror coursing through his veins and his limbs trembling.
“No!” Iksoo cried. “No, you can’t! Please!” Iksoo cried, fat tears rolling down his cheeks.
Iksoo had no one. He only had his master. Someone born with the blessing to hear the voices of the Gods was destined for loneliness. Iksoo had already lost any family he’d had. The only one he had was his Master who had taught Iksoo, brushed Iksoo’s hair, held his hand when he couldn’t sleep, fed him food and took care of him when he was sick or hurt. Iksoo had no one else.
“Child, if you do not move out of the way, I will cut you down with him,” Yuhon’s voice was cold. Iksoo couldn’t look up into his eyes.
“Iksoo! What are you doing?” His Master snapped.
“Please,” Iksoo begged, wracking his brain from something, anything. Then Iksoo knelt and bowed with his forehead touching the ground. “I will see to it that my Master will never speak of whatever it is that your highness isn’t pleased with. I will watch over my Master with a sharp eye. We will leave quietly and remain quiet for the rest of our lives,” Iksoo squeezed his eyes shut. “Please.”
“If you do not know what your Master knows of, how will you stop him from saying anything, you stupid child?” Yuhon scoffed.
“I will make sure of it!” Iksoo cried, his forehead pressed into cold tiles and fingers curled into fists.
“What nonsense,” Yuhon hissed. “You expect me to believe that?”
“Iksoo! Enough! You are the next priest! You must live!” His master shouted.
“No!” Iksoo cried. “I cannot leave without you!”
“Ikso-” His master sounded desperate.
“I am running out of patience, you fools,” Yuhon said darkly.
“Iksoo!” His master shouted.
“No!” Iksoo practically screamed.
“Enough,” Yuhon sounded done. Iksoo bit his lip fiercely.
“You have my word, your highness,” Iksoo’s Master suddenly spoke up. “I will not speak a word of that prophecy ever again. My student is important to me. I have no desire to lose him. If you ever hear word of that prophecy, you will surely know that it came from us and you will find us and kill us. But I do not desire the death of my student. He is the next priest. I cannot let this end here. That is why, I will cut my tongue,”
Iksoo shot up.
“Master, why would you-” Iksoo cried. Yuhon kicked Iksoo in the side and Iksoo flew almost halfway across the hall and Yuhon strode up to his Master. Iksoo sobbed, clutching his side. “Master!”
“If you were to cut your tongue, you would die. It would be better if I just killed you here.” Yuhon glared down at Iksoo’s Master.
“Take us to a doctor!” Iksoo almost screamed. “Take us to a doctor in the city and then my Master will live! And we will go quietly!”
Yuhon turned to look at him and Iksoo shook like a leaf.
“I see,” Yuhon said coldly. “It would seem you raised your student to be cunning.”
“No,” Iksoo’s Master said. “I raised him to be kind,”
Yuhon said nothing, he merely grabbed Iksoo’s Master’s arm and pulled him up and then glared hard at Iksoo. Then he dragged Iksoo’s Master with him. Iksoo stumbled to his feet and desperately ran after them.
------o------
So, I wanted to write a past that has been mostly unexplored in canon. A first I was like SOOWON! But that's too much of a hurdle. Too complex and it would probably develop into a multi chaptered fic that wouldn't do real justice to his back story. I've been reading a lot of historical manga and manhwa lately and religious groups were often suspected of supporting a certain Prince. So I went with Yuhon believing that Iksoo's Master had faked Yona's prophecy in order to put the Prince he wanted on the throne. Biting off your tongue is a way to commit suicide if I'm correct, but if you do it the right way and get a doctor to treat you immediately you might live and just not be able to speak properly ever again. Of course, this is all second hand knowledge. I do not know how true this is. Iksoo is like seventeen here but a smol that hasn't had his second growth spurt yet so I FEEL FOR MY BABY.
This was a wild week (well more than a week, but) and I LOVE writing angst so this was great. I'm glad I managed to stick to my goal of writing side characters and not main characters. I cut it pretty close with 'Abuse' but I managed to focus on mostly Garou!
I hope you guys enjoyed this!

Final 31 [2018 Edition] Day 31: 2018 Resolutions Wrap Up
Here we are! We are on the final day and it’s now time to see how well I did over the year! My 2018 Resolutions are here, so without further ado...
1. 20 Doramas/SPs - (PASS) I succeeded this one!! I was very happy to finally get back into the world of doramas and such. While the beginning of the year was strong, I started watching doramas just because my friend wanted me to watch along with her and unfortunately, all her choices were absolute rubbish. So hopefully next year I can watch just as many, but watch much better ones.
2. 20 Movies - (PASS) I marathoned whole series of movies this year which felt so great! I managed to watch about catch up with Jinro Game, and watch almost all the Yamikin Dogs movies too! I also got to watch some long overdue stuff like Tomodachi Game and Survival Family which were so good! I am happy with the movies I saw this year. Next year looks even more promising though!
3. 12 Books - (PASS) I don’t think I could’ve done this if I hadn’t gotten behind and then marathoned about 2 years worth of Shingeki no Kyojin manga. That alone was about 6 or 7 volumes of content xD I had either really good or really shit books this year. Of course my main man Sanderson never failed me once! And this year I started to read all his work from the beginning which has been fun! Also finally read some LONG overdue books: Frankenstein, Dracula, Leviathan Wakes, Ready Player One, Alice in Wonderland, A Torch Against the Night. SO MANY GOOD BOOKS! I already have lists of the top 5 and top 36 books that are my utmost priority for this next coming year. 36 isn’t entirely impossible but it’s definitely a challenge for me, but I am excited!
4. Keep Up with Reviews - (FAIL) I’m going to be honest, reviews take a LOT of time, and I can’t exactly concentrate all that well when I’m at home. One review takes at least 4 hours, and when I have events every week, it really cuts down how much time I have to get these things out. I still have reports/review from JUNE that I still haven’t even started! I am seriously cutting down on outside events next year so hopefully I can catch up and keep up. I do love writing reviews but I just wish I had a better environment and more time to get through them all. Also me marathoning whole Korean Variety shows the last 6 months of this year have NOT helped. One episode is always about 90 minutes and I watch like 2 to 3 episodes every day so.... yeah that really sucked up a lot of the time I could’ve spent writing. I’ll sort it out, I promise!
5. Oshi Stages/Events Only - (PASS) I feel like I ONLY went to Oshi stuff this entire year... I’m trying to think of one play that didn’t have an oshi in it... even Tenimyu technically counts cos FUCKING HIGA, AM I RIGHT?! ... and I really thought it’d be saving me money; turns out NO! Because instead of going to seven DIFFERENT plays, I’ve just been going to the same oshi play 2, 3, 4 times instead! That is not productive Alex! So while I got very picky and more focused on my plays, I didn’t exactly save much money. BUT this year (especially towards the end of the year) I definitely didn’t feel like I had no money - unlike this time last year where I was in serious poverty and was scraping the barrel of all my bank accounts just to get by (yes I am shameless, and yes I really should admit the severity of my money spending), which means my money handling definitely got better which is good, but it’s still not at the level I want it at - we’re a LONG way off that. Luckily, I found more plays and production companies that I didn’t like this year (I’m looking right at you MARV!), and a lot of my favourite series either finished or no longer feature my oshis (TouStage, HakuMyu, K Stage, EnStage (for now) etc.) which means I should have more money staying in my bank account next year as well as more fucking time to sort out my mental health (it’s been very very bad the last 3 - 4 months, and money worries definitely don’t help)! PHEW!
6. Keep Complaints to Self and Be Positive on the Outside - (FAIL) I feel this hasn’t improved at all, especially at work. I know I shouldn’t be this vocal and this negative but my stupid brain works too fast for my common sense to kick in, and I end up complaining before my brain can say ‘hang on a minute bitch’ and then I feel like the worst fucking person afterwards. And, as mentioned above, my mental health has really been struggling since November so that’s not helped my negativity at all (one day I’ll probably open up about how bad it’s been but not right now, because I’m still dealing with it). But at least I am always trying to better myself on this one.
7. Travel Twice - (PASS) I definitely did this! I went to Sendai TWICE, I went to Nagoya, Osaka, Hakone, I finally went to Odawara (and Odawara Castle), I went to new places in Tokyo: Kichijoji, Nakameguro, Yomiura Land, Asakusa, Ikebukuro Aquarium. While it was all internal in Japan, I still managed some new places which makes me happy! But hopefully next year I have at least one external travel!
8. Save Money! - (MORE FAIL THAN PASS) I did manage to save some money: I started saving ALL my coins that weren’t 100 yen and that managed to total about 30,000yen by the end of the year which is great! But I am still very much financially unstable. And yes it is completely and entirely my fault. But at least I’m no where near as unstable and poor as this time last year! I’m not spending whole nights lying awake hungry and worrying about the fact I can’t afford food for the next 2 - 3 days unlike last year which is amazing progress (not really but...). While I did find out that saving coins is a great way for me to save up money, I am still not saving decent amounts every month. Hopefully next year is that year! This year I’ve managed to sort out some priorities and find out ways of cutting down on my spending, and I feel like next year I’ll be able to really hold my control on it, moreso than the last 2 years.
9. JLPT - (FAIL) HA let’s not talk about this one. I had every intention of doing the JLPT in December and I did seriously studying in July, August and beginning-September, but then SuJu came along and decided to do concerts the weekend of the exam so my brain went ‘fuck it! Not like you’re ever gunna pass anyway’, so I never applied and I stopped studying all together xD I haven’t picked up a book since September. I really have zero motivation to study Japanese anymore. And I’m going to be honest, the main reason I’ve lost all my motivation to study is because I have no fucking place TO study. I can’t study at work because people keep coming to my desk and my anxiety finds that extremely humiliating, embarrassing, and distracting to be discovered studying; I don’t have a spare desk in my room so I don’t want to study there; I don’t want to study in the living room because my roommates could come in at any moment which is again embarrassing, distracting and worrying; I can’t study at a restaurant or cafe because the air-con is fucking freezing and it’s just a different way of wasting and spending more money than necessary. I have NO place to study, so how can you (I’m speaking to the universe) expect me to take a fucking JLPT exam when I can’t even find a fucking place to study?! You see the pickle I’m in?
10. No Clearfiles, No Non-Fav Fandom TShirts or Bags - (PASS) I did it! And to be honest, I completely forgot I wasn’t buying these things anymore, I just naturally DIDN’T! Which is great! I am definitely stretching this buying ban far next year (you’ll see in tomorrow’s post), but I am excited and happy at how easy this has been!
11. Keep up with Dancing and Stretches - (PASS) I have whole weeks where I exercise ridiculously every day/night, and then some weeks where I’m doing the bare minimum, but at least I’m always conscious of how much I’m exercising and I’m always trying to keep myself in check when it comes to exercise. So I’d say this one is a success. I’m still enjoying stretching, I’m still enjoying my dancing, I enjoy walking so much. This is going well!
12. Spend Spare Time Studying - (FAIL) We already went through this; I stopped studying; K-Variety has taken over my life. No time or motivation to do such things!
TOTAL: 7/12 PASSED! - A little over 50% which is not that great but I personally feel like I made progress even in some of the failed sections which is great! I hope I can be more successful next year! But I think we can all agree that my mental health is definitely the biggest thing ruining my motivation and goals right now. So let’s get that sorted first!
*
What were your goals this year? Did you succeed? How did you do? Let me know below!
My 2019 Resolutions are all set and ready to be posted tomorrow morning! Thank you for sticking around the entire 31 days even though my fandoms stretch far and wide, I hope at least some of the posts you could relate to.

Pick your top ten ships without looking at the questions
1. Josuke/Okuyasu (JJBA)
2. Jotaro /Kakyion (JJBA)
3. Joseph/Caesar(JJBA)
4. Vash /Wolfwood (Trigun)
5. Yuri /Victor (Yuri!!! on ice)
6. Spiderman/Deadpool (Marvel Comics)
7. Lance/Keith (Voltron: LD)
8. Sole survivor/Hancock (idk if this really counts but, Fallout 4)
9. Keith/Shiro (Voltron LD)
10. Dio/Johnathan (JJBA again)
lmao as you can see I am Jojo trash, and these are in somewhat of a random order
1.    Do you remember the episode/scene/chapter that you first started shipping 6?
I think it was after I started reading the Spiderman/Deadpool comics that I realized they were the perfect power couple. I mean at first I thought people just shipped them because they looked alike, now I understand.
2.    Have you ever read a FanFiction about 2?
Yap, yap, yap. But I haven’t found any really good ones that are longer, if you know some dm me.
3.    Has a picture of 4 ever been your screen saver/profile picture/tumblr avatar?
My computer wallpaper was the picture of them on the couch for the longest fucking time, and idk why because that scene always made me cry. But idk about profile pic or anything like that.
4.    If 7 were to suddenly break up today, what would your reaction be?
If they got together I would be bouncing off of the walls for months, so if they broke up I would probably delete all of my social media and just live an isolated life.
5.    Why is 1 so important?
Because it would be the straightest gay relationship ever, and it would be so pure. It would go something like “Hey bro, no homo but your eyes are really sparkling today.” “dude we’ve been dating for three months now”. Also they are very good boys, that’s why it is so important.
6.    Is 9 a funny ship or a serious ship?
Their relationship would probably be serious, but as for how I feel about them I am not a serious shipper of the two, if that makes sense? I appreciate the fan art but for the love of god if you are serious about this ship in the Voltron fandom some SJW will sweep down and tell you that you're being a pedophile and should burn in hell.
7.    Out of all of your ships listed, which ship has the most chemistry?
Probably,  Sole Survivor/Hancock because for there to be a relationship there literally has to be chemistry (Chems). All jokes aside probably also  Josuke/Okuyasu and  Yuri /Victor, because they just push each other to be better people :’)
8.    Out of all of the ships, which ship has the strongest bond?
(spoiler)
My brain wants me to say Yuri/Victor but my heart wants me to say Joseph/Caesar and Vash/Wolfwood BECAUSE THEY’RE BEST BUDS THAT KINDA HATED EACH OTHER AT FIRST BUT THEN THEY FOUGHT A BUNCH OF BAD GUYS TOGETHER AND ONE OF THEM DIES.
9.    How many times have you read/watched 10’s fandom?
Lmao I’ve watched all of the current anime twice and I’m reading through the manga right now, I’m almost done with part 5. (Including rereading part 5 again with a friend)
10.  Which ship has lasted the longest?
lol I guess the only one that's canon, Yuri/Victor
11.  How many times, if ever, has 6 broken up?
Well they got to get together first (I’m looking at you marvel)
12.  If the world was suddenly thrust into a zombie apocalypse, which ship would make it out alive, 2 or 8?
Um, 8? They already live in the apocalypse. But omg I would love to see Jotaro and Kak murder some fucking zombies
13.  Did 7 ever have to hide their relationship for any reason?
(if they ever did get together) I could see them hiding it
14.  Is 4 still together?
:’) No, because even if they were together one of them be dead :’)
15.  Is 10 canon?
Well they do have a son together, and they ARE together if you know what I mean ;)
16.  If all ten ships were put into a couple’s Hunger Games, which couple would win?
THIS IS A HARD ONE. I feel like it would narrow down to the JJBA ships but at the same time Stand user vs Gun? Who would really win? For the sake of making this easy I'm going to narrow it down to just the JJBA ships (1,2,3,10) and rule them out from there. If we’re talking young Joseph and Caesar vs everyone else then, while Joseph did kill a god, I feel like they would lose bc Caesars power is fucking bubbles and they don’t have stands so:/ Then I feel like the next to die off would be Dio and Johnathan because 1) Dio is a vampire and if it is day time then boom, he dies. 2)While Johnathan is a Big Boy ™ and very strong, I don’t think he can kill a stand user with just hamon. Now were down to Jotaro/Kakyion and Josuke/Okuyasu. JotaKak is much smarter and much more cunning, but I am assuming this is part 3, Jotaro cannot stop time and the best Kak can do is 20 meter Emerald splash.  But right away Josuke can heal and has almost the same strength as Jotaro, and for Okuyasu while he is stupid his stand is overpowered. So I would have to say Josuke/Okuyasu, sorry I  had to make this question difficult.
17.  Has anybody ever tried to sabotage 5’s ship?
There could be an argument to be made here that people have, but I’m just gonna say no (unless you want to count the gold medal)
18.  Which ship would you defend to the death and beyond?
I want to say Victor and Yuri but they have enough people defending them so I’m gonna say VashWoods because it is in my top 3 favorite ships
19.  Do you spend hours a day going through 3’s tumblr page?
I probably have lol (Joseph/Caesar)
20.  If an evil witch descended from the sky and told you that you had to pick one of the ten ships to break up forever or else she’d break them all up forever, which ship would you sink?
Keith/Shiro because I already got Keith in another ship
I was tagged by @lenniefrost
and I nominate @vashtheneedlenoggin

Learn to Fly - A Fairy Tail Fic Ch. 3
Summary: The world is split into two realms - the mortal and the spirit. In this world, demons attack humans and the winged protect them. When Levy gets shoved headfirst into the spirit realm, she will have to adjust her whole way of living and learn to deal with a moody dragon winged Gajeel. AU vaguely based on the manga plot.
Rated: T
Chapter 3
Levy jumped.
Again.
And again.
Once again she landed flat on her feet glaring up at the one book hanging dangerously off the edge of the bookshelf, mere metres out her grip.
"Stupid vertically challenged body." She muttered, nevertheless she refused to admit defeat! "Maybe if I…" Levy began to climb the lower book shelves attempting to get some height, reaching up her fingers grazed the book's corner "Almost… Got… It... YES!" Levy grinned as her hand finally closed around the around the books spine. "Oh no." Levy gulped as her body lent backwards, and the whole bookcase along with it.
With a crash and a scream Levy found herself stuck under a rather heavy bookcase and its collection of fables. "Not again…" she sighed trying to wriggle her way free. (She was ashamed to admit this had been the third time this year this had happened).
"Need a hand?" The voice broke Levy from her desperate struggle looking up to see a purpled haired woman staring down at her with a relatively innocent smile on her face.
"Oh! Hi Laki!" Levy was grateful someone had found her; she didn't want to repeat the hour she was stuck last time. "If you wouldn't mind..." Levy squeaked out clearly embarrassed. Laki merely smiled and proceeded to grabbed both of her arms and began to pull.
"Ahhhh!" Levy cried, feeling like she was being ripped into two even smaller parts. "Laki stop!" Immediately Laki released her grip and toppled backwards as Levy's arms fell with a dull thud.
"Hm, I guess we'll have to alleviate the literacy burden to get you out." Laki looked deep in thought. "Maybe I should try again? It might even make you taller!" The taller woman mused to herself as she rubbed her sore backside. Brushing herself off the floor she gave Levy a somewhat sadistic giggle. "Alternatively, I still have that stretching rack…" She casually mentioned.
Levy nervously sweated, not sure what to make of Laki always bizarre comments. "Thanks, but no thanks Laki. I'm perfectly fine with my body as it is!" Levy searched her brain for anything to distract Laki from pursuing her personal brand of 'friendly torture' on Levy’s body. "Why don't you go get some help?" the bluenette suggested, and watched as Laki nodded in agreement and ran off in search of help. Levy's toes were beginning to go numb, so she attempted to 'dig herself out' removing nearby books from her body sacking them neatly within arm's length. She cringed internally as she saw the crumpled pages of the books which had fallen open and bent their precious insides; Levy only hoped that the pages didn't have any tears or permanent damage done to them.
Soon enough Laki returned with a stern looking librarian who simply clicked her tongue as she began helping; picking up books form Levy's small frame. Once all the books where safely stacked, the two women lifted the bookcase just enough to allow Levy to crawl free, as she turned she saw the bookcase fall behind her with a heavy thud. Levy profusely apologised for yet again toppling another bookcase, which was swiftly dismissed by the elderly woman.
"I'd say be more careful, but I'd be wasting my last few breaths." She huffed immediately moving away from the fallen shelf. She would have to call the caretakers to put the shelf back up and then spend several hours re-sorting and re-stocking it. Honestly the whole ordeal was quite that; an ordeal.
Levy felt a pool of guilt form in her stomach; she quietly picked up her intended book and walked towards the checkout desk. Looking at the cover of her newest book quickly raised her spirits. The latest addition in the Midnight Menace series – It was a predictable, stereotypical, but oh so terrifying horror story. Ancient curses, haunted houses filled with ghosts and a group of friends who may or may not survive the dangers in store. Levy loved it; despite the bout of insomnia it would surely incur as she tended to read into the early hours (not because she was scared!).
Grabbing her bag and bidding the librarian a brief farewell; which was returned with a less then friendly glare, the small bluenette walked out of the building into the warm summer evening towards her flat – if she didn't hurry she'd be walking in the dark which was less than desired. Fortunately her walk home went without further incident; then again, there was no way levy could even notice several pairs of dark eyes lingering on her as she went. Sat on a skyscraper, two fledgling demons discussed said woman as she walked away. Their brief conversation ended in the decision that they had found what they were looking for. Two sets of black wings took off, the plan was in motion.
Levy unlocked her door and flopped straight onto her bed – she couldn't comprehend how she had gotten so tired, but almost being crushed by the thing you love would take an emotional toll on anyone. Speaking of which Levy looked around her flat, well what she could see of it at least. Unexpectedly it was covered in shoulder-high towers of books – fiction, fact, fantasy, horror, mystery, romance for as far as her back wall would allow. It was an ordered chaos, everything was ordered by genre and alphabetised – Levy could tell you every book in every stack and had planned safe paths to get round the flat with a grace that only a bookworm like herself could appreciate. But her little treasure trove held no interest to her right now – the only book for her was already open and in her lap and nothing was going to interrupt her devouring every letter.
Levy considered herself to be intelligent; more so than most people without bragging too much. She spoke three languages fluently and could read another four with little aid; not to mention given the time and resources she could probably translate any other language you threw her way.  She even dabbled in writing; occasionally, honestly it was terrible work, but she enjoyed the odd short creative writing session. Almost always she wrote about fantastical adventures she would have in the worlds she had read about; solving riddles, finding treasure and maybe even finding love. The last thought momentarily gave her pause.
"Wouldn't that be nice...?” She mused aloud; her book lay finished to her side. She turned to look at the time she realised something that made her blood run cold. She was an idiot. Two cups of coffee and one midnight menace book later she was wide awake at 3am. "I should really know better by now." Levy spoke aloud clearly distressed by the lack of sleep she was going to get. Work started at 8 am sharp whether she wanted it to or not. With a tired yawn she finally decided to cut her losses and get as much sleep as she could squeeze out of three hours.
Full fic here - I own nothing except a vague plot, feel free to review/ask/be inspired and share with me anything you find :)

13, 15, 20 for the furuba asks :')))
oh hello!!!!!!!! (this one is long so i put it under a read more hjgfgfdghf)
13. favorite friendship/non-romantic relationship?oh my GOD please don’t get me started okay okay i’m gonna list a few and ramble because i am suddenly in a !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! mood
-hana, uotani, and tohru: HELLO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i love these three sooooo much omg i’m gonna cry!!!!!! they all love and care for each other so much ))): tohru went through living in a TENT in the mysterious WOODS with typhoons,,,,,, because she cares about hana and uotani so much that she didn’t want to burden them??? i can’t say it was a great choice because !!! the girls want !!! to help her and it hurt them knowing that they weren’t able to help her ))): during the ep when they visited the sohma household and they were talking about how much they care about tohru and how they want to be there for her...... my heart exploded T___T and also i love ??? that they make it a point for tohru to often talk about how much she loves her friends you know !!!! like i love how open she is about how much she loves them ))))))): and also i’ve talked about this like 8930483x but when they visit kyoko’s grave and hana’s all like ‘i don’t know what i would do if tohru passed away. the pain would be so great that i would wish that we would have never met’ hello,,,, im going to die,,,,,,, oh and ALSO when the fan girls go to her house and the ep ends with her saying that with love comes weakness and that tohru is hers,,,,,,,, omg and when uotani talked about her struggles and how kyoko and tohru saved/helped her,,,,,, i..... Goodbye Everyone This Has Been A Wonderful Life
-kakeru and yuki: okay i ship them as friends and non friends but also . i know like 5 things about them BUT i really love their dynamic from what i’ve seen so far so -HARU AND KYO: i almost wrote hatori and then i almost forgot haru’s name omg someone help donate some memory cells please,,,, but anyway omg their fight was so hfdjghdfjg and also i just love their bickering they’re soooo dumb omg
-mabudachi disaster: they’re stupid and as you can tell i love stupidity but also press f for hatori
-tohru and yuki: oki unpop opinion time i used to actually ship them GDFJGLDF but now i see that they don’t have that type of relationship ghjdfkgf i’ve seen people discuss how their relationship is more of like . tohru is the Mother Figure yuki never had and i think that’s sweet ))): i really loveeeeee how she’s slowly helping him realize things about himself and become a better ??? (idk if that’s the word) person and he’s improving himself more,,,,, like !!!!!! at the garden, when he decided to play rich man poor man with her and her friends,,,,,, and that he’d work on himself,,,,,,, emo
-haru and yuki: OKAY LAST ONE HHH okay okay like . i’m emo !!! because i feel like haru can pick up on yuki’s feelings?? like in the last episode, when momiji, haru, and tohru were talking at school, yuki passed by and haru like almost immediately knew why he was upset and had hatori bring ayame back home ghdjfgf
it’s also sweet to see how much haru cares about him ))): like when yuki was sick he like ran immediately to him and gave him his jacket thing ))): omg and also that one flashback from when they were younger,,, that GOT ME!!!! was that in the 01 version bc i honestly do not remember that,,,, but anyway that scene had me 0000: like i feel like it really really sucks that adults are always talking crap about the kids like !!!!!! hello !!!!! do not gossip ??? esp in front of kids like,,,, your brain is free, use it????? like it was extremely upsetting to see that false assumptions affected haru when he was younger (understandably so) and it made him super resentful towards yuki ))): and it broke my heart when he lashed out at him,,,,,,,,,, it made me so sad to think about how that affected yuki, esp with everything else he had going on you know )): but like i don’t blame haru because he was a kid !!! 0: but what really got me !!!!!!!! was that yuki asked haru if he really believed that he was stupid (like ppl said) and haru had that 0: moment like . i really love that yuki said that instead of idk getting into a fight with haru. he instead was like well ???? is that what You think ??? and he really opened things up for haru and had him come to his own realization (??) and acceptance,,,, Cry Time
15. which character do you think you’d most likely be friends with?oooo omg i’d love to be friends with tohru, kyo, yuki, hana, and uotani!!!! i love them 20. any hot takes (about a character, the series in general, the fandom, etc.)?o hm i don’t really have that many but i think one ?? i don’t know if it counts,,, but it’s that i don’t,,, think what akito has done can ever be forgiven and i don’t think i’ll ever like her ://// though even with that said, i do Understand that there are layers and reasons to why she did what she’s done (i haven’t read the manga but i’ve seen people talk about things) so i do feel bad for her 0: but also like.... i don’t know like the stuff she’s done to everyone are pretty...... terrible. like just thinking about kyo, hatori and kana, and yuki alone....... all the things that happened to them are bad enough. ))): though even though i feel this way, i’m not def not going to shame or side eye anyone who likes her or thinks her chara is interesting !!
waow oki this is ....... very long.... gfdkjghdfkjgdf well thank you for sending this in, i really appreciate it!!! i hope you have a wonderful day
