So I've been massively obsessed with listening to FNAF songs lately I'm definitely very mentally well about it, ah. anywAYYY
Music headcanons about what the egos listen to??? 😁 Feel free to do as many as you want to, but I'm most curious about Murdock, Illinois, engineer Mark, and Wilford. (Also, I have some idea of what's in ur brain with Dark, but any more details would be welcome~) (Also also, Y a n c y)
Murdock - Industrial and Aggrotech are his shit, but also very much into Power Metal and Rock, the heavier the better. Appreciates Classical and Jazz, though prefers songs that sound more brooding and ominous in both cases.
Illinois - Definitely listens to and enjoys all sorts of cultural folk songs and the like native to the places he visits in his travels. Indie, Blues, and Jazz round out his typical tastes. People who don't know him tend to assume he'll like Country music, but he can't say he cares much for it.
Wilford - Disco is a very obvious choice here and it is true, but Wilford's been around for quite a while and has an appreciation for pretty much all types of music. He does, however, have quite a strong fondness specifically for Electroswing.
Engineer - Listens to a lot of sub-genres of Electronic and EDM. Like Wilford, a big fan of Electroswing, and also likes Chiptune a lot. Will put on heavier music like Industrial when he's angry or frustrated and trying to work something out. If he gets too strung out, though, he'll find some sort of rain or - especially after the Wormhole Incident - heartbeat ambience to put on and go decompress. Preferably with the Captain nearby.
Yancy - Musicals is really on the nose but also so very apt. Also Rock'n'Roll, Rockabilly, and Doo-wop, considering the whole 'greaser' vibes he's got. Also likes some sub-genres of Rock and Alternative. Doesn't actively dislike any genre of music, even if it's something that isn't to his tastes. Boy just loves music too much.
Damien/Dark - Classical, Oldies, and some Blues and Jazz are all very obvious and fitting picks (all moony and lovesick), but only very close friends and family know that he also adores Metal, with Symphonic Metal being his favorite of the genre. You'd be hard-pressed to catch him listening to it, though, especially after the events of the Party. It reminds him a little too much of a certain someone who used to listen to and play it with him...
Bonus (cause his music taste jumped out at me):
Bing - Vaporwave and Chiptune are his favorites, but he likes almost all kinds of Electronic and EDM. Always surprises people when they find him listening to Industrial music and its sub-genres, of which Dark Electro is his go-to.
[Partially me projecting really hard here, partially honestly striking me as making sense, but I can see pretty much all the Egos enjoying Post Rock. Some more than others, and some only when they want something to help them wind down, but still.]

phenomenon - szri (gekiyaku utau + ß) : szri's music always goes hard. quick paced & heavy. love the growly gekiyaku & the rap parts. clearly szri's sound but its distinct from their other songs i think tho some parts remind me of quiet & anaphylaxis. is it related idk im not looking into it rn
kowaremono - kyiku (rime & kazehiki utau) : holy shit. hi i love this. the lyrics kinda hurt & it sounds so dramatic. also oh my god the tuning on rime i could cry. working with her to make her sound both emotional & pretty🥺🥺 this isnt a duo i wouldve thought of but it works. this is so good [puts it directly in ur hands and walks away]
Predation - logico (haru) : yeah this is something i can easily loop for days. its so good. love the little bits of squeakiness on haru it has charm to me. goes hard. haru fans come get ur food
Shell - tokino yamma (rime) : i wasnt sold on this at first but listening more i feel like it works with rime well enough. sounds more emotional than like shes actually struggling it gets a pass from me. love the sound in the chorus. idk this is going to grow on me even more i think with the combination of the lyrics & sound

hayari no ice cream - mochi utsune (miku) : simultaneous both cute and dark. worth ur time
chase - satsuki (teto sv) : heavy sounding song & theres something about it that keeps u listening. yes its supposed to be pronounced chase its in the comment when u like the video.
it's all my fault - aluvi (stardust infinity) : this is so pretty like actually. heavy content wise but the sound is just SO good. please give it a chance.
Chase - yakou ume (aisuu, rime, tsurumaki maki) : COMPLETELY different from the other chase. its still so good tho
Caligula - shinonome kasumi (gekiyakuß & rime) : this legit sounds like it should be one of the most popular uploads and yet it is not. how sad. its really good
denkou roukaku - dadari (haru) : another haru banger. shes kinda squeaky but i like it.
Plum - see & haiiro nemuri (nedjem & kafu) : such a calm tranquil sound for something not that light.
Time Limit - sigma (kafu, miku, & vflower) : idk how to describe this one its more mellow than other things ive put here but its so far from the really tranquil stuff. very good
yuurei ni naretara. - HotaRu (miku) : absolutely LOVE this sound it feels like carbonation in a pretty colored drink to me
tengoku yori shounen-kun e. - aira (coko, chisei, & kafu) : airas tuning is so unique no one does it like aira does this song is so immediately clockable as aira and it fucks

idk. I call myself aro but sometimes I don't think that I like. Get to. Because like. ok follow me on this one.
I love my cats and my fish, and I love my parents, and I love my best friend, and the metal mule who stands outside my door and my van and my cane and my favorite shirt and the pair of shoes I will never throw away despite them having been Used to hell and back and just straight up not being safe to continue walking in.
and I love the people Im sexual with.
And it's all the same to me. I don't love my boyfriend any differently than I love my favorite hat. It's the same Feeling. My intentions are obviously different between the things and people and animals I love but idk when I love, I love so fully that there's no sorting it.
Romantic attraction is an Alien idea to me because it implies that there's a way to love somethings Less.
and so I call myself aromantic because I have no other word to describe the vibe of finding the implications of the concept of romantic love genuinely Nauseatingly Terrifying.
(and also bc tbh people take it better than if you just straight up say "You will never be more to me than what that rusty hunk of metal full of spiders which I named after a stripper in an electroswing song is. You can just be equivalent and you will never be the Only equivalency" bc they assume that's a neg instead of like. Everything I am capable of.)

Hiii, I'm the last anon and tbh, it's okay, my own attempt of a caligura playlist is quite messy too, but i was aiming for a dark swing/electroswing vibe for him for some reason??? Also, some lana del rey songs (it's oc x canon now that i think about it) but I'll definitely listen to it! Also, i would love to listen to some russian songs that are Caligura vibes because i like how russian sounds in songs tbh!!!
Sorry, I'm a big Caligura fan so I'm eating content and discussion about him like a full meal, hope you don't mind!
Hi hello, guess I should also say that at first damn!! Ok firsts of all love the idea of swing being his vibes, I’ve been listening to all these 40s swing playlists and these are cool damn, also suits the timeline his from, good one. And I’ve never heard of dark swing, sounds cool, I should check it out.
And lol I also have some Lana Del Rey song that are actually oc x canon! My friend is a fan of hers so once she showed me “Shades of Cool” and I was like that literally how my oc wanted to see hers relationships with Caligura haha. Maybe once I’d draw them and post it on main and never go online again because I’ll die from my own cringe….
Ok now to the songs, I’m pretty sure you will be able to find them on YouTube, so yeah at least you can listen to them, it’s just that I’m usually reading the lyrics and if they suits the character then it goes to playlist, it’s hard to find something with right lyrics and right sounding (‘:
But thanks God MM exists haha, ok ok now songs: Как сатурн пожирает своих детей - pyrokinesis, Разговор с отражением - АрктидА, Валашский князь - АрктидА.
Actually the last one is about Vlad Tsepesh but damn how fucking much it vibes him I can’t, there is fucking reasons he have nickname Count Dragul, and hope they are more than just him being cruel and looking undead duh.
And of course I don’t mind all of that, why would I create this blog if I wouldn’t be an absolute sucker for him haha. I mean I like draw but just my sick perfectionism don’t let me do some lazy sketches and I want to do at least some sort of full art every fucking day, that’s takes a lot of motivation must I say. But he absolutely worth my time 🥰

17. any art tips?
23. Recommend some music!
#17 | If you're not feeling satisfied with your art, try to pinpoint exactly what you have to improve in order to directly work on it. Take a good look at your art, and carefully analyse what's not clicking with your brain.
Common stuff to look for: lack of dynamism, anatomy issues, lack of distinct personal style, too different to the kind of art that you like General solutions: more sketchings and push your impulsivity as you draw! take the time to make studies! take the time to experiment! analyse the art that you like and see what you can import into your own artstyle!
Most importantly, please show your art and only gather feedback from people who you trust, and who know how to actually analyse art and give proper feedback. There's a distinct difference between "oh i like the character's outfit, but the ankle looks a bit wonky here be careful" and "oh damn i'm getting [reference 1] vibes from that, i think it's the vibrant coloring style that reminds me of the [reference 2] atmosphere. The way you're portraying the character's emotion through [type of stylization] is interesting, it's a bit like [creator]'s way of portraying [topic] in [reference 3]. I can see that you're going for [vibe], is that correct? I'd advise you to look at [reference 4], you would like it, and maybe see if you can try [art medium, coloring style, etc.] to make it more [vibe]?"
#23 | I'm sorry in advance for being insufferable,,
Tumblr media
jk jk i won't mention Persona. this time
Lyrics or r/im14andthatsdeep wise, I'd recommend Stromae's works, such as L'Enfer [electro-depression] and Alors on danse [upbeat depression]. There are way too many francophone artists who produce solar-level, soul-wrenching-tier music??? And in the same vein we also have Stupeflip, go for The Antidote [electro/RnB].
Vibe-wise, I've been pretty hooked on Takayan's Underdogs [upbeat electroswing/RnB] and Kikuo's Cloud cloud forecast [upbeat/electronic/whatever tf is up with Kikuo/Hanatan's stellar vocals].
I have a very versatile taste in music and I'll listen to the dumbest shit tho. I love talking about music!!!! Just accept that I'm cringe and we'll get along!!

Hey have I asked you what kind of music you like/liked?
Aw! How sweet to ask.
My relationship with music has changed a lot in the last 10 years and I don’t fully understand why. I used to listen to music a lot, and now I barely listen to any music at all.
When I was younger I was super super into noisy angry alt rock and Canada had a lot of really great bands. My favourite band of all time was probably The Tea Party. They were super popular in Canada in the 90s and now not so much. Edges of Twilight is probably my favourite rock album ever. Transmission was also a banging album. They played cool alt rock with kind of a new-agey-witchy vibe, and they incorporated middle eastern and Indian music and instruments into their songs and I absolutely LOVED IT as a teenager. (I was also unhealthily obsessed with the lead singer but whatevs, I think every young girl needs to be unhealthily obsessed with something?) They also did great live shows, I saw them play live several times, including one concert that incorporated an orchestra, Cirque du Soleil performers, and international drummers and dancers. Very cool. Their later albums started to get less noisy and had less of their unique international flavour, kind of just very generic very bland rock, so I sadly got less interested.
These day I tend to like music that… eh how to I describe it… music with an interesting beat, that sounds unique, that has a beat that hooks me. I liked some Modest Mouse, I liked some Hozier, the Decemberists had some really great ballads… it’s hard for me to find new music that I find interesting, so I really like the stuff that I do like. The thing I listen to the most is electroswing, I absolutely love it. I’ve also just recently heard of math rock??? Which is apparently music based on unusual time signatures and harmonies? I’ve been meaning to check that out, I’m hoping this means they have lots of cool noisy songs with interesting beats, and not just that it’s weird and ugly music, lol. We’ll see!
What a nice ask. What about you?
And about the rest of you guys out there? I haven’t had people recommend good music to me since I was in college. What do you guys really like?

[Image Description: an Undertale textbox with the name "napstablook" in all lowercase in its center, between two talksprites of Napstablook. The first is their default expression, and the second is the same, but with a "Dapper Blook" top hat. End I.D.]
Napstablook received 91 votes, meaning 3.4% of responders picked them as their favorite character. This was surprisingly high for a character who does not play a major role in the game. Despite not appearing very often in-game, Napstablook appeared in the winter alarm clock dialogue and in many Fangamer merch items. These are the reasons that Napstablook was included in the favorite main character survey.
Napstablook’s fans overwhelmingly found them relatable. Reasons for this relatability were that they are lonely, shy, possibly depressed/anxious, and they enjoy lying on the ground feeling like garbage.
Many fans also pointed out Napstablook’s character design, enjoying them as a simple ghost with a top hat or headphones. One responder who picked too many characters to choose said about Napstablook, “Napstablook!!!!! Heck yeah WEAR that dapper little hat made out of your tears you are so VALID!!! Love them.” Their music was another very important part of their character; fans liked both that Napstablook makes music, and that they have a great theme song in Ghost Fight.
Some fans loved that Napstablook is nonbinary; however, a larger portion of fans referred to them with the canonically incorrect he/him pronouns. In older versions of the art book and some other unofficial places, Napstablook was referred to with he/him, but in-game and in all recent official sources (like the winter alarm clock dialogue), they are referred to with they/them. The selected highlights below only use they/them, but be aware if you choose to read the full list of responses linked at the end of this post.
Highlights: (under the cut)
They are a ghost, it's very cool! I loved every interaction i had with them in the game. I love their fight and battle music. They are very kind and i love their personality.
They have such a nice character design, they are relatable, can make a cool hat and also one of the first non-binary character I encountered. (Undyne and Papyrus are very close to being my favorites but not quite.)
napstablook just has really nice vibes. they’re super sweet! definitely a bit sad but they’re super friendly! plus ghost fight is one of my favourite songs from the soundtrack (it’s a bit hard to choose one song as a favourite as they’re all so amazing, but ghost fight really stands out for me)
i relate deeply and intimately to napstablook as i, too, enjoy snails, electroswing, and lying on the floor feeling like garbage
i find them very comforting
Napstablook and I are very, very similar, and I like that. I enjoy relatable characters, especially those with nice designs, like a ghost with headphones.
Tumblr media
[Image Description: a white wordcloud shaped like Napstablook. Some of the largest words are: ghost, relate, love, cute, design, music, shy, hat, and Napstablook, the most common words responders used in their essays about them. End I.D.]

Okay hi Sonia love the ADHD mondo Headcanon, I have ADHD too. But I also Headcanon kazuichi with massive ADHD, so what if mondo and Kazuichi just vibe in the garage listening to good stim music and tinkering
ADHD Mondo hcs from an ADHD Person bc I have Brainrot™️ ft. Kazuichi Souda
I adore this!! There’s a point I’d like to bring up about the garage later on!!
CW mentions of trauma, anxiety, and panic attacks (some of this is going to have to to with Daiya’s retirement race)
Idk much about SDR2 but Kazuichi’s character design Absolutely Screams ADHD to me so I I definitely agree on this one
So I don’t think that Mondo would feel extremely comfortable or safe* in the garage with Kaz, not because Kaz is there but because of what his ultimate involves.
*wouldn’t feel extremely comfortable or safe as in he feels like all of the equipment and vehicles are going to start moving and hit him
Because of what happened in the crash at the end of Daiya’s retirement race, Mondo would be pretty Not Okay around motor vehicles for a Very Long Time.
Even if the cars that Kaz is working on are off and have empty gas tanks, Mondo wouldn’t feel comfortable in the shop because of anxiety issues and trauma related to the accident
Even being near a vehicle, let alone an entire garage full of them, is enough to increase his heart rate
yes, in a bad way
Being in an enclosed space with them makes it even worse bc there’s nowhere for him to run
HOWEVER
If there were no cars
Like
None At All
And it was all just bikes,,,, Mondo would be Very Chill w that
Speaking from firsthand experience, being hit by a moving vehicle is not a pleasant experience, and it can and will Fuck You Up in regards to your mental health.
But Good Stim Music??
Hell yeah????
They listen to ZZ Top!! And rock!!
Mondo puts on electroswing and he’s embarrassed about it first but then Kaz just
✨👄✨
Yeah <3
They tinker??
They tinker!!
They both love the tactile stimming that comes with it and the serotonin rush (bc it’s the reward/gratification neurotransmitter) from getting their little projects done before they thought they would!!!!!

3, 12, 23, and 24 for the ask game!
hiiiiiii! lets go:
3. fave line or scene I wrote this year. oh this is DIFFICULT, but if i must pick, i can narrow down to two:
if we're talking lighter hearted, horny, etc, the pool scene in keep on touching me, the vamp on vamp action no one asked for (not even me). i just love the vibes
talking more serious themes, the conversation between joe and nicky in thoughts nobody needs. i really bared my soul with that one, written at a very vulnerable time. still, rereading gives me a sense of catharsis
12. favourite character to write about. well, goes without saying, the immortal husbands, my beloveds. iterations of them i became super fond of include genderfluid nicky in a velvet dress and demisexual joe in if you get me out
23. fics i wanted to write but didn't. oh!! interesting to think about. i've got this sci-fi dystopian long oneshot idea floating around, i have the title and general plot still kicking in my drafts. i also listen to a lot of electroswing music and i really want to write something about a speakeasy setting with the whole gang there
24. favourite fic i read this year. AGAIN, this is DIFFICULT. literally so many, lemme just dive into my bookmarks...
yeah, it's gotta be White Sun Summers by davaia. perfect, every time.
but favourite is a tier, and others in that tier include And See How Bright We Shine by imoshen, Intoxicated by kirasometimes, Sunlight by incurableromancer, the purpose of art by kaydeefalls, and Threads of Memory by thevorpalsword.
honestly, i read A Lot, and i love a lot of fics. i'd need to write a book to include all of the good ones out there
THANK YOU ANON, this was fun
fanfic end of year asks

Hello honey! May I have a matchup if it’s okay? Also I hope you have a lovely day/evening wherever you are ❤️ Stay safe!
Right how do I describe myself? I am plus size and I have glasses which makes me look like a nerd, I am always on my computer playing games (mainly sims as it’s my obsession). I get told I have an accent as I’m British but I can’t hear it so I don’t know if I do, but when I hear my voice on camera I sound like a female Winnie the Pooh 😞. I like listening to music to calm myself and it’s mainly Rock but I don’t mind 80’s music and Electro-Swing (thats my guilty pleasure). Horror movies feel like home to me as wierd as that sounds so I’m always watching them, they help calm me down for some strange reason. Uhm.. that’s all I can think off but thank you!
i wasn't sure if you wanted ahs or marvel, so i just went with ahs if that's okay. (if you also wanted a marvel one though, just send another ask and I'll do it xx)
I've matched you up with... James Patrick March!!
Tumblr media
This might be a weird pick, but hear me out! I'm just getting like.. A vibe that it could work.
I feel like he'd get jealous of your sims though if you're spending too long playing with them lmao
Don't let him get ahold of your computer because he'll send your sims for a swim and take away the ladders then act like he has no idea how it happened
He doesn't really get video games, but he loves spoiling you so he'd definitely buy you all the dlc/expansion packs ect that he can
Also being British, I definitely get the accent thing (but instead of winnie the pooh, I get hagrid even though I'm from a completely different part of the country from him), but James has quite a distinctive accent too so I don't think he'd comment too much on yours. Other than saying you have 'the voice of an angel' and other compliments along the same vein.
James either thinks electroswing is good or a complete abomination against mankind and there is no inbetween
He's quite intrigued by your interest in horror movies, especially how they calm you down instead of freak you out— if you don't know about his murderous habits, then this is definitely something that makes him consider telling you.

the f/o playlist game seems so fun! Prosciutto and I are very domestic we love cooking together maybe you have a song to play for the kitchen? :D
self ship music game ✨
Jazzhole - Free the Robots
This song is all instrumental, but, I just felt like this would be a good vibe when cooking tbh. Also I felt like an electroswing genre song would fit you and Prosciutto best hehe. :)

So I’ve got a Spotify playlist consisting of the compiled contents of 81 different Alastor-centric playlists, like I just copied the contents of every single playlist I could find with no cultivation, no filtering, and no censoring. The one limitation I put was no duplicates of the same song—although multiple versions of the same song off different albums was allowed.
And since then I’ve been listening to this all-packed-together playlist on shuffle. It’s brought up several comments/questions. Highlights include:
- To every single person that includes a romance song with lines like “baby you’re my angel” or the like: are you a Radiodust shipper actually referring to Angel, or are you a Charlastor shipper referring to Charlie’s “fallen angel” heritage?
- One of you included an entire creepypasta story about the devil talking a man into killing his ex-wife and her lover as part of a 500-step-long plan to conceive the Antichrist and I’m not quite sure why it was on an Alastor playlist but I appreciate the characterization of the devil in it. I guess a creepypasta is kind of a radioplay of sorts? Maybe more Alastor playlists should just have random radioplays mixed in.
- To the person who included half a Kidz Bop album on their Alastor playlist: I’m not judging, I just wanna know why. I want to understand. I really want to understand.
- I respect all you people that included song covers by Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox and I understand where you’re coming from, but like, if you’re not familiar with music genres from before 1990, I suggest you look up which genre a given PMJ cover is trying to emulate, because if you’re stuffing PMJ covers on a playlist specifically to make them “sound like” Alastor’s era or because you’re going for “songs Alastor would like because they sound like what he’s used to,” then a PMJ cover that makes a 1990s song sound like a 1970s song isn’t quite in the right neighborhood.
- There are different philosophies that go into making a character playlist. Some go “the genre has to fit the character’s era and/or personal tastes, whether or not the lyrics do.” Some go “the lyrics have to fit the character, genre be damned.” Some go “these songs were big/popular when I was into this character so that’s what I associated with them.” Some go “these songs are really out there for the canon character but fit my headcanons.” Some people may have totally different criteria I haven’t even thought of! Anyway the point is: when you mix over eighty playlists together, you get every single playlist-making philosophy mixed together, and it’s an exciting experience to listen to.
- And on that note: every single genre on the planet is on this playlist. We’ve got Britney Spears, we’ve got Vocaloid, we’ve got Thomas Sanders (we’ve got a LOT of Thomas Sanders), we’ve got My Chemical Romance, Two Steps from Hell, Barry Manilow, Oingo Boingo, Within Temptation, Madonna, Kesha, Hans Zimmer, ... we’ve got the poppiest pop, emo, metal, electronic, folk, rap, rock, movie soundtracks, TV soundtracks, classical, disco, country, KPop, Carrie Underwood, every single decade for the last 150 years... and I’m deliberately leaving out all the jazz, swing, electroswing, and musicals, because those are a given for Alastor. Obviously those ones dominate the playlist but it’s amazing how much variety there is outside them.
- I’m frankly amazed by how much of this playlist is Thomas Sanders and Bendy and the Ink Machine. Like. It’s a notable quantity.
- That said, actually the playlist doesn’t quite include every single genre. Like, for example: I can tell y’all want to lean into Alastor’s New Orleanian/Louisianan/Creole roots from how many songs I’ve seen that include words like voodoo, Creole, New Orleans, bayou, uhhhh The Princess & the Frog, etc... And yet aside from a few New Orleanian jazz artists so far I have crossed paths with very little Louisianan music compared to, say... Undertale songs. So here. Start with some Cajun, try some Mardi Gras songs, I’m not totally sure how much of this playlist is “actually from Louisiana” and how much is “other people making songs that they think are Louisianan” but try this one anyway, and once you’ve oriented yourself a bit dig in here. I wanna see ten Alastor playlists with one song that includes “Zydeco” in the title or album name, stat. Sure, we know Alastor’s all jazz and swing and musicals, but I sure don’t listen to only three genres, you probably don’t listen to only three genres, and Mr. Radio Guy Whose Public Title Includes The Word “Radio” Who Likes Bursting Spontaneously Into Musical Numbers probably listens to more genres than you and me combined, and those genres probably started with what was local & accessible & common around where he grew up.
- Then again I haven’t listened to this whole playlist yet, sometimes I put it on shuffle and sometimes I put it in alphabetical order to try to slowly work through it from top to bottom (I’ve made it mostly through the C’s) so maybe y’all hid the Cajun & Creole music down in the D’s. But lemme say this: while randomly shuffling through the playlist, I’ve randomly run into multiple Irish drinking songs & shanties, and randomly run into zero zydeco, so like from those of you who follow the “music that sounds like what the character listens to” philosophy of playlist-making, non-jazz Louisianan music could use a lil more representation. If there’s room for twenty-six Billie Eilish songs there’s room for one BeauSoleil song. (I’m partial to “L’ouragon,” but you do you)
- Somewhere in this massive mixed playlist there are three parody medleys of Disney songs rewritten to be like “here are grimdark edgy lyrics about all of the terrible real-world things happening to the cultures depicted in these Disney movies!” and like, okay, I can see why that merits inclusion in an Alastor playlist, his big moment in the pilot was “take an optimistic song worthy of a Disney princess and rewrite it with grimdark edgy lyrics,” but those three songs still annoy the hell out of me because the specific way they frame the concept of their songs is that Disney movies/songs are “full of lies” and these songs reveal the lies. And then it’s things like... “Aladdin got captured and interrogated by the CIA,” which is definitely a thing that happened to a character living in an ambiguous time period that predates the existence of the United States, much less the CIA, much less the CIA’s meddling in the middle east, by several centuries. Disney was definitely lying about the reality of Aladdin’s day-to-day existence by not depicting American imperialism that predates America. Or “the characters in The Princess & the Frog have to deal with the fallout of Hurricane Katrina,” like, yeah, Disney sure is pulling the wool over our eyes by dishonestly denying the devastating consequences the 2005 hurricane had on 1920s New Orleans. Listen the lyrics are clever and all the things they discuss are real salient social issues but it still drives me nuts that the songs are framed like they’re revealing “lies” being told when half of the movies are taking place in (fantasy versions of!) time periods or locations where the issues they’re discussing didn’t apply, if they’d just framed that one line differently— Okay, okay, I’m finished, I’m done, I’ve got it out of my system
- Every single love song makes me go “are you imagining this song with a ship (and if so which ship) or do you just think Alastor would be into this song?” The question goes double for songs from the 20s/30s, because the odds that they added it to their playlist just because they think Alastor would like the song increases.
- On the other hand, if whoever added “A Formidable Marinade” isn’t a Charlastor shipper I will eat my hat. Also nice work on the gory cannibalism sex song.
- Every once in a while I’ll run into a song that makes me go, now how the heck did you end up on an Alastor playlist? Does this song line up with someone’s very specific headcanons and/or fanfic plot? Do they think Alastor would like this song? Did they happen to like the song and like Alastor at the same time and so they associate them with each other? Examples: “I Got You (I Feel Good)”, “iRobot” (is it the emotionlessness of being post-death?? do they headcanon that he’s got radio hardware replacing his guts?? is it a post-breakup ship song??), “Greensleves”, “Barbra Streisand” (the song, not the singer), “Jolene,” “The Last Steampunk Waltz,” “Seven Nights in Eire,” “Cruel Angel’s Thesis,” and the person who included half a Kidz Bop album, please, I just wanna talk—
- Every time I hear a song that includes the words “hell,” “sinner,” “smile,” or “radio,” I go, “Haha. Nice.”
- An incomplete list of songs that amused me for how on point they are: “Hotel California” (how often do you have a fandom where “Hotel California” is actually very blatantly fitting without having to twist through an extended & convoluted metaphorical interpretation?), “The Hunting Song,” “The Axeman’s Jazz,” and “Time Again”
- I sort of hate whoever put “Circus” by Britney Spears in their playlist and made me realize that lyrically it’s a perfect Alastor song because it is.
- *scrolls past six versions of “I’m Always Chasing Rainbows”* Haha. Nice.
- *scrolls past five versions of “It Don’t Mean A Thing (If It Ain’t Got That Swing)”* Haha. Nice.
- *scrolls past a song from Bambi* Haha. Nice.
- *scrolls past five versions of “You’re Never Fully Dressed Without A Smile”* Haha. Nice.
- *scrolls past eleven versions of “Sing Sing Sing”* Haha. Nice.
- What’s with those of y’all putting steampunk songs in Alastor playlists? Listen, listen: steampunk vibes are for Sir Pentious. Swing vibes are for Alastor. Don’t cross the streams. Take your steampunk songs and make Sir Pentious playlists with them. He could use more playlists.
- The playlist includes 39 songs that include “smile” somewhere in the title.

Oooh, I'm the same! I like a wide variety, and i don't have a favourite song or artist or anything cos I just like so many at once lolol. Alternative/indie, rock, electronic, electroswing, lo-fi, some pop, etc etc
If i had to pick a favourite genre though... I think maybe alternative/indie rock would win.
Also, i have a special appreciation for upbeat songs with lyrics of the opposite side of the spectrum lmao. Like, Choke by I Don't Know How But They Found Me, as well as their song Do It All The Time. I just love those vibes lolol.
