The mount of the Mother of Dragons, Daenaerys Targaryen, Drogon was born in a clutch of three. His two other brothers were Rhaegal and Viserion, and they were the first dragons to be seen in many, many decades. The firstborn was named after Dany's dead husband Khal Drogo, the leader of a khalasar. A namesake that Dany chose to honour both man and beast.

Rumoured to be the offspring of Dreamfyre, these eggs might have been the ones stolen by Elissa Fairman from Dragonstone years before the Dance of the Dragons. The woman was a close friend and lover of Rhaena Targaryen, the eldest sibling of Alysanne and Jahaerys.

Drogon is distinguishable by his red-black scales and wings. He, and his brothers grew considerably fast over the years. Although, Drogon was the biggest and most aggressive of the three. His shape is very similar to that of Dreamfyre (a possible indicator that she's his mother), however, his shape is also similar to that of Seasmoke, Meleys, Vermax and Arrax. These dragons have more of traditional dragon look, while the differences are in the tails.

Not only was he the more aggressive dragon, Drogon was also the most outgoing and adventurous. He was curious and wanted to explore the world, while Viserion and Rhaegal didn't wander too far from their mother. He was also quick to anger and didn't like being told what to do.

Some said Drogon was Balerion born again, the dragon of Aegon the Conquorer.

Hii your face claim posts are sooo helpful. I was wondering if you have any ideas for face claims for children in a period setting. Appearance or ethnicity doesn't really matter, just as long as they're kids under 14 ish.

I completely forgot about this blog 😅 you've reminded me to get back into compiling faceclaims, for now, for anyone who would like some extra resources, i have an extensive directory on quotev that I'm planning to eventually expand (add resources for each fc, ect) to tumblr. It is under construction rn I'm adding new fc's and alphabatizing them, so extending to tumblr is in the far future at this point.

The daughter of Prince Aemon Targaryen and Lady Jocelyn Baratheon, Rhaenys II was a capable, spirited and proud woman. Simply said, she was bold. Her namesake was after the sister-wife of Aegon I, the Conqueror of the Seven Kingdoms, Rhaenys Targaryen.

Considered next in line for the Iron Throne when her father died, she was known as ‘The Queen Who Never Was.’ And when she was presented to her grandmother, Queen Alysanne, she had said that Rhaenys was “our queen to be.”

Aemon had been the Prince of Dragonstone, but when he died, King Jaehaerys named Aemon’s younger brother as heir, Baelon (Viserys & Daemon’s father). King Jaehaerys outlived the majority of his children, and was still alive after the death of Baelon. This is when he made the decision that Viserys was to rule, rather than Rhaenys II.

With the Targaryen blood running through her veins, Rhaenys was a true dragonrider. She bonded with Meleys the Red Queen, and the pair developed an incredibly deep relationship. It has been said that one was a part of the other.

Rhaenys was married to Lord Corlys Velaryon of Driftmark. On their wedding day, she was adamant that she wanted to arrive on Meleys, even after being denied, Rhaenys did so anyway.

She had two children with Corlys, Laena and Laenor Velaryon, who she absolutely adored. Motherhood seemed to click with Rhaenys, her love for her children was boundless. That same love was shown in her grandchildren, specifically Baela and Rhaena, Laena’s daughters with Daemon Targaryen. She had a fondness for Rhaenyra’s sons, Jace, Luke and Joffrey, but she knew that they were bastards (show-wise, in the books she would have had the same devotion.)

・You're actually apart of the royal family, your siblings already having bonded with either eggs from their crib or great beasts already living

・It felt embarrassing being the only one without a mount. It was true that not everyone in your family were dragonriders, but you didn't want to be anything but a dragonrider.

・You had heard stories of untrained dragons and with great bravery or stupidity, you went to find one

・Sheep Stealer and Grey Ghost have always stayed out of each other's ways. Not knowing what kind of dragon the other is (especially when the other wild dragon was a CANNIBAL)

・So neither Sheepstealer nor Grey Ghost stay in the Dragonpit

・With you, Sheepstealer is a lot more soft. It took time to build up that trust and reliance on one another.

・But once he realised that you weren't going to hurt or leave him, then the bond became one of the deepest ever seen

・When you're dreaming, it's as if you're in Sheep's head. Not controlling him, but seeing things from his eyes.

・And you can feel each other's emotions (like all dragon riders and their dragons) but it feels a lot deeper

・His favourite song would absolutely Sweet Carolina by Lana Del Rey. It would actually make him cry.

𝐆𝐑𝐄𝐘 𝐆𝐇𝐎𝐒𝐓

・Doesn't like to share food (not that you'd eat his food? Never once have you tried to either. But every time he's eating, he you're near - he frowns and grunts)

・He was just used to being independent and fighting for his food.

・It took a long time for him to warm up to you. Not liking human interactions

・Knows many, many good secret hide outs... you love hiding in them with him. You aren't a people person either

・Once bit a handler... on the butt. It sounds comedic, but there was blood everywhere and holes in the man's buttcheek.

・Your father had to spend a lot of money for the man to be healed.

・(Grey Ghost wasn't chastised, your father too thought it hilarious)

・No one is allowed near Ghost except for you, I'm talking even existing near him.

・He likes his personal space

・Ghost actually got a bit of colour once you spent more time flying. He turned a beautiful silver instead of a dull grey and had a bit of a glimmer to his scales

𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐌𝐀𝐗

・A pyromaniac; likes to hear the command 'Dracarys' (it's the fastest one he responds to)

・Likes hitting you with his tail and when you turn around to look at him, he's obviously looking somewhere else - but his lil dragon laugh gives him away

・But you got used to it and remember to duck everytime your back is towards him

・Is very competitive, especially against Arrax, who is the closest in age to him

・Crushing on Morning; likes her pretty pink scales. You know this because he rolls in anything pink (especially pink flowers)

・Would love country music unironically.

・Gives Dennis the Menace vibes but he is acutely aware of the trouble he causes. Loves chaos.

・Likes to gently bite your shoulder when your attention isn't on him

・IS afraid of cats. Pretends he's not but once when he was a baby dragon, your pet kitten swiped at him and from then on he was terrified...

・Vermax loves being called a "beautiful boy," "handsome man," etc but DO NOT DO IT IN FRONT OF ANYONE, HE WILL GET EMBARRASSED.

𝐀𝐑𝐑𝐀𝐗

・Bit shy for a dragon, still courageous and honorable. But prefers to be away from ... everyone

・Does like Tyraxes though; they seem to have similar souls. Some say they could've come from the same clutch of eggs

・Definitely a Libra or Pisces.

・For a long time he was scared of getting into trouble. But you've been working on it ... constantly reminding him he's a goddamn dragon.

・When Arrax is happy, he makes a trilling noise and the red scales/flaps on his neck and head shimmy

・Vermax has made fun of him for it but Moondancer growled at Vermax (therefore he never made fun of him ever again)

・LoVES LAYING HIS HEAD IN YOUR LAP. A very affectionate dragon, loves pets, being brushed down, having his wings gently touched.

・It's safe to say his love language is physical touch

・It took some time for him to be a confident flyer. But once he took off, he never looked back.

・A good boi, a very good boi. Does as he's told because his trust in you is unwavering

・When you look into his eyes, they almost seem ... human. They're a beautiful blue/green colour and seem to stare into your very soul

・You realised that at a young age, and swore to treat him exactly how you'd like to be treated

・Has youngest sibling energy (but the kind where the parents have a bunch of older children and for some reason have a baby in their 50s by accident)

・So technically youngest but basically grew up as an only child vibes

・...Loves baths. Like proper baths. You would bathe him as a little dragon. A tradition you and your mother started (because you, yourself hated bathing. So poor Tyraxes was subjected to it as well)

・Now that he's grown ... well ... the blacksmith had heavy pockets and no extra time on his hands for quite a while

・When the bath tub arrived just on the outskirts of the dragonpit, Tyraxes' tail wouldn't stop thumping. He knew exactly what it was for

・Aquarius asf

・Always pliant when it comes to be saddled up. Very good girl, you trained her yourself (or you were there for the majority of it)

・From a young age you found yourself talking to her as if she could understand you perfectly well. And now you still do it;

・She gives huffs and chuffs in response, smoke coming out of her nose when she heavily disagrees with something

・Knows about Vermax's crush on her but expects a lot of romantic gestures.

・She's also an Aquarius so they're pretty difficult to shack up with; their independence is highly important to them.

・Like a dog with bad experiences with men, Morning can sense when a person is trustworthy or not

・If they aren't ... SCORCHED. If they are ... UNSCORCHED.

・Literally takes it upon herself to administer justice

𝐌𝐎𝐎𝐍𝐃𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐄𝐑

・Quite calm in stressful situations

・Definitely more than you - not trying to be shady to you but Moondancer seems to know exactly what to do in like ... every situation?

・Nuzzles you with her nose

・Does adore when you clean her horns, I mean they're PEARLESCENT! (or chrome, however you want to see it)

・Absolutely adores music and will fly you to towns that are having festivals. (She's learned from experience that she can only fly over the top of the crowd and sit from afar...there have been some messy incidents in the past)

・Seems calm but is VERY overprotective of you. Will let you handle arguments until she can feel your heart racing and then she jumps in

・Likes adventure but not dangerous adventure. More so like finding pretty fields or lovely waterfalls.

𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑾𝒉𝒊𝒕𝒆 𝑫𝒓𝒂𝒈𝒐𝒏

The youngest of the three, Viserion he was named after Daenerys Targaryen's elder brother, Viserys. He never bonded nor was he ever ridden. But he was close with his mother and Rhaegal. Drogon, however, was the bonded dragon of their mother, didn't really spend time with his other brothers.

As said in Drogon and Rhaegal's profiles, it is rumoured that Dreamfyre is their mother. And these eggs might have been the ones stolen by Elissa Fairman from Dragonstone years before the Dance of the Dragons.

In terms of his appearance, Viserion was described as having scales the colour of cream, along with horns, wing bones and spinal crest being gold colored. His teeth were shining black daggers. His claws black and sharp. His eyes two pools of molten gold, and his flame pale gold shot through with red and orange. Viserion had a roar that would send a hundred lions running. Although his true colour was cream, he was often referred to as "the white dragon". He knows his name. Wisps of smoke emitted from his nostrils. When wounded, his blood glowed gold and red.

While being the youngest, Viserion was also the smallest and least temperamental. He was the most affectionate, and loved to cuddle with his mother.

Viserion's fate is different from the show. In the books he's still alive, as is Rhaegal. Well, as is Dany...and many other characters.

A young dragon by the time of The Dance, he was bonded with Princess Jaehaera Targaryen, the daughter of Helaena and Aegon II Targaryen. However, Morghul was never ridden due to his size and his early death.

Jahaera had a twin brother, Jahaerys, and a dragon egg was placed in both cradles as babes. Both hatched, and Jahaera’s dragon was frail and small. And yet, he was still placed in the Dragonpit with the other dragons.

During the events of the Dance of the Dragons, a one-handed man named the Shepherd was a prophet who, in time, created a riot against the dragons. He convinced the smallfolk to turn against the mounts, and to attack them in the Dragonpit.

Despite being shackled, and unable to escape, Morghul took down many of the mob with his dragonfire. He did not go down without a fight.

However, a man in heavy armor, later becoming known as the ‘Burning Knight,’ killed the young dragon with a spear through his eye.

In High Valyrian, ‘Morghul’ means death.

An untamed, wild dragon that lived on Dragonstone during the reign of Viserys I. He had made his lair in a smoking vent high on the desolate eastern side of the volcano called Dragonmont. There were two other wild dragons; The Cannibal and Sheepstealer, the latter was later claimed by a dragonseed called Nettles.

Grey Ghost was said to be the colour of morning mist; a pale grey-silver. He was shy, and stayed away from humans. Feasting on fish, he was often seen diving in the sea for food. He never harmed any of the villagers on the island, nor did he seek out any company. Grey Ghost seemed to be happy in his solitude.

During the Dance of the Dragons, Jacaerys called for every possible rider and dragonseed to claim a dragon for the Blacks, but Grey Ghost was an elusive creature. He was never claimed as he avoided human contact.

However, he was later slain by Sunfyre, and partially eaten upon Aegon’s return to Dragonstone.

Born during the youth of King Jaehaerys I Targaryen, Sheepstealer made his home in the caverns of the Dragonmont on Dragonstone. How he got his name is pretty straightforward; he would hunt sheep as far as on Driftmark and at the Wendwater.

He was never aggressive or violent with other people unless they disturbed him. However, this changed when Jacaerys asked any potential dragonseed to try and claim as many dragons as posssible. This was known as ‘The Sowing,’ which ended up being quite disasterous for many dragonseeds. As Sheepstealer killed more than the other three riderless dragons (Seasmoke, Vermithor, and Silverwing) combined.

However, it wasn’t until a young girl named Nettles, did what every other man could not do: she won his favour. Using a clever method, she left dead sheep out every morning but stayed in his presence, therefore he got used to her.

In appearance, Sheepstealer was only ever officially described as “muddy brown.” However, some say he was slender like Dreamfyre, which could suggest that he had a similar build.

Also known as Aemond One-Eye and later Kinslayer, he was the thirdborn child and secondborn son of King Viserys and Queen Alicent Hightower. A notable part of his physical appearance played a big part in his personality; Aemond lost one of his eyes during an altercation with his young cousins in his childhood. In its place he wore a sapphire, but commonly donned an eyepatch as to not frighten ladies at court.

The animosity between Rhaenyra and Alicent had been passed on to their children. Rhaenyra’s three sons; Jacaerys, Lucerys and Joffrey despised Alicent’s three; Aegon II, Aemond and Daeron. With each encounter tension brewed and brewed. And none of the ploys of Viserys to draw his family closer to one another worked. In fact, for the boys it did the opposite.

In his youth, Aemond held a lot of bitterness for the family members who had dragons and dragon eggs. It tormented him greatly. Yet one night Aemond claimed the biggest dragon in all of Westeros; Vhagar. However, it was upon this night that while he gained one thing invaluable, he lost something in turn.

With a fight against four of his cousins, Lucerys wounded Aemond’s face so harshly that his left eye could never be recovered. This had been foreseen by Helaena, Aemond’s eldest and only sister.

Aemond seemingly had the closest relationship with his mother out of all her children. His relationship with his father seemed...empty. But in his youth Viserys did oversee some of his training, however, his sickness developed quickly and substantially.

It was said that Aemond was a great swordsman, but had a dangerous temper. The latter was proved true as he had slain Lucerys and Arrax at Storm’s End. This forced Rhaenyra’s hand and the Dance of the Dragons began.
