In honor of the day, I thought it might be fun to run a short little horror challenge. You do not have to message me, or ask to join, nor do you have to be following me, but it would be cool if you did! Simply spin the wheel (or pick from the list below) to pick your poison, and submit your fic by Sunday, 1/15, 11:59pm to be featured on the challenge masterlist. No late fics! The point of this is to get spooky for the 13th. So let’s get spooky!

RULES:

1. Due to my blog content, and the content of my friends and followers, this challenge is 18+ only. No minors. You will be blocked.

2. Your story does NOT have to contain smut, but it must be spooky! This is a horror challenge, this tenet is non-negotiable.

3. All tropes allowed—Dark, A/B/O, Mafia, etc! Just make sure your fic is tagged and warned appropriately.

4. Your submission must be a new and original work—no submitting chapters from previous fics, or installments in ongoing series. If it IS an installment of something existing, it must be able to be read and made sense of as a stand-alone piece.

5. There is a strict 1.3k word limit, and 3 submissions are allowed per user. (This means you can write a 3 chapter mini-series if you like, but each chapter must be no more than 1.3k words total!) All submissions must be entered by 1/15/23 at 11:59pm EST.

6. I reserve the right not to reblog work I find offensive or harmful, or that does not fulfill the challenge briefing!

7. Please, no submissions from fandoms I am not in. Chris Evans characters, Sebastian Stan characters, MCU characters, as well as other marvel actors and their fandoms are all acceptable to submit. If you have questions, shoot me a message and I can clarify!

8. Have fun!! More than anything, I want people to enjoy themselves and have fun. If this challenge is not sparking joy, it’s okay to sit it out. There will be more!

I am so HYPED for The Ancient Magus Bride: Season 2, part 2 dropping the first episode just before Samhain. It's so right for this anime.

Sort of horror in a way, more, the art is filled with interesting creatures and magical beings, skulls, that kind of thing. More, horror graphics than scary. I personally find this series very peaceful and comforting to binge watch and go to sleep with it playing, but I enjoy creepy things haha.

Day 4 / 100 | Night of the Creeps

Watched on: This film was borrowed. Date Watched: 07/26/2022 (This post is a bit behind and therefore is copied from IT’S ORIGINAL UPLOAD ON INSTAGRAM.)

This film brought me back to my Goosebumps days though it existed long before the books and TV show. In that I mean I felt like a child watching this camp gruesome shit unfold in super animated ways. You can really freaking feel Dekker's love for the genre in this film. The last names were a bit too painfully on the nose, but the jump from aliens to an axe wielding madman to the living dead was fantastic. The humor was a bit hit or miss as lines began to get repetitive and lose their charm, but I'll admit I lost my shit cackling and joking to an empty room when Atkins said "It's Miller time." I do want to note that I read a few reviews where people dogged on the visuals in this film, and outside of the aliens (which, yeah, were a little rough to look at), y'all can shove those complaints up ya ass (respectfully lmao). The undead, the animals, the bus driver just before crashing, and everything else is 80s sfx bliss, imo. 7/10. It's not as serious of a film, so to try to nitpick would be redundant. I enjoyed this for what it was, not what it could have been.

Temeraire modern AU concepts don’t usually keep the treason even if they keep the dragons and an implied war and tbh that’s kind of a shame because “Laurence vs. the Twitter account Jane Roland forces him to use regularly to rehabilitate his image and tell his side of the story” would be a source of absolutely endless comedy methinks
