**spoilers for latest episode of junior year**

alright so kalina saying "it's the only name i can say" when talking about ragh barkrock immediately paints the picture that kalina entered the spy's tongue curse with some co-conspirators and that ragh barkrock could theoretically lead the bad kids to figuring out who they are without naming them directly. also, kalina saying it immediately after the mall incident implies these co-conspirators have something to do with the dead god, which would explain why it would be on cassandra's mind as well when kristin communed with her.

so who are these co-conspirators? we know its not lydia because kalina was able to mention her by name back in sophomore year, and even if that was retconned, lydia was able to say kalina's name a couple episodes ago and the curse goes both ways. this is interesting because that leaves a lot less options for who kalina could be referring to, since there aren't a lot of options for people simultaneously associated with ragh barkrock, kalina, and with the dead god.

with a lack of any other information, i'm immediately suspicious of jace and porter.

it was stated in sophomore year that ragh saw jace in the room with kalina and arianwen during the whole nightmare king fiasco, and also that after the prompocalyse fight jace got porter to heal ragh with "barbarian healing" which then infected him with kalina. this to me implies that kalina, after talking to jace and/or porter, conspired to intentionally get ragh infected. (side note: this is interesting because to my knowledge this is the only instance of kalina deliberately infecting someone rather than it being incidental, which implies that kalina had some sort of plan for ragh).

so how could either of them be sus:

porter of course is the running joke of being sus, but as someone who is possibly part goliath AKA giant, while simultaneously being a barbarian who harnesses rage and a paladin with an oath to his ancestors, it makes sense that a possible god he worships would be a giant god of rage. honestly though itd be incredibly funny if after 3 seasons of being sus there yet again isn't anything wrong with him

jace has less evidence considering we know even less about him, but he is in a place of scrutiny seeing as he's been specifically made vice principal in the absence of gilear. and as a sorcerer, one possible subclass is divine soul, which makes it very possible for jace to derive his power from the divine source of a rage god. plus, the last name stardiamond can definitely be associated with the 21 point rage stars that the god has. AND, most importantly i think, yolanda badgood specifically went to jace stardiamond with her concerns over lucy frostblade and NOT principal grix, and then later ended up dead, which is a very suspicious series of events.

it still feels like we don't have enough information, but ultimately im curious about 1. why kalina would specifically enter a spy's tongue curse when she hasn't really done that with her other conspirators and 2. what she may have wanted with ragh barkrock

Soo today I made the terrible mistake to look for hotd art on pinterest, and came across a... particular comment that genuinely led me to question my faith in humanity.

I thought team black was at least cool with Hel cause she's literally the most innocent character in the show (except for the kids obviously) but apparently some blacks have beef with her too now.

Haelena had the opportunity to go with her kids to Nyra.

I'm sorry but why? Why would she want to betray her family, her actual family? Rhaenyra never gave a flying fuck about her growing up, they have never even talked on screen! Why, why would she dump her siblings and her parents to join the cause of the woman who's side wants the people she loves killed? It makes no sense whatsoever. The blacks really don't understand that not everyone on Planetos loves Nyra like them and it shows.

Also if she really tried to betray her family for Nyra, I think Aegon, Ali and Aemond would have noticed Dreamfyre leaving King's Landing to go to Dragonstone and would have gone after her on Sunfyre and Vhagar.

And even if she somehow made it there, what do you think was going to happen? Rhaenyra was just going to welcome them with open arms as if she wasn't married to her "usurper"?

Best case scenario Nyra pretends to welcome them in and then Daemon sends his men to strangle Jaehaerys and Maelor as they sleep to get rid of Aegon's possible heirs.

I mean hell in the books Rhae put a fucking bounty on her 2 year old nephew's head that lead to his brutal death and they think she would just allow them to switch sides? Man these people really do not know how the game of thrones works.

She wanted to be queen

When? When has it ever been stated that Hel wants to be queen? When did we ever get a dialogue where she talked about how she couldn't wait for Aegon to inherit so she could replace her mom as queen?

Haelena spends most of her time on screen making prophecies of the future, playing with bugs and dancing with Jace, when has her ambition for the crown been portrayed?

When have we seen any hint of her desire for power? Wtf

Being the youngest child of Alicent and Viserys meant Y/n would only be useful to build alliances. She knew this from a young age, not given the freedom her older sister Rhaenyra was granted instead her mother Alicent made her spend her days with a Septa, the old lady forcing Y/n into the role of the perfect princess. Y/n did not understand her mother's hatred for Rhaenyra and her children, but Y/n had not been there nor in the room when her mother had attacked her older sister. She was too young at the time to understand what happened. Rhaenyra had never been cruel towards her and Y/n never listening to her family when they called her children bastards. She had always been close with Jacaerys, he made her laugh and would defend her against Aegon's teasing. She did not see her Nephew again until after her 18th birthday, she was surprised she hadn't been married off but her father declined all suitors, including her mothers idea of marrying her to Aemond. Both of which parties had declined, Aegon had made a comment asking to have a second wife like the first of his name had. That had also been turned down and his mother slapping him, it seemed her father had a plan for her which he kept close to his chest. Rhaenyra and her children returned to kingslanding to defend Lucerys claim against Vaemond. Y/n had not attended, not caring to hear her older sister be insulted as she was sick of listening to everyone around her. They only hated her because she was a woman, if she were a man her children would not matter. Y/n attended the banquet, sitting beside Jacaerys as everyone got on, even her mother and sister laughing together. She could see her father fighting back tears as he watched him family, finally whole again. Her father stood, everyone turning to him as he spoke.

"I have an announcement. I have decided who my youngest daughter will marry, to reunite our families and bring peace our great name i declare she will marry Jacaerys Valeron." Rhaenyra smiled at her father, having discussed it previously with him. Jace could not stop the smile on his face, standing and extending his hand to Y/n. Smiling back at him she stood taking his hand, both raising their glass as everyone drank. Jace would not admit it out loud but he had always found Y/n to be beautiful, when they were children he had asked him mother if he could marry her, his mother had found it cute and spoken to her father. Rhaenyra did not think her father would have kept his promise all these years.

Jace spent the next few days spending time with Y/n supervised by her septa, he could not help but find it adorable when she would be scolded for being unladylike and respond with a cheeky smile towards him. Both finding themselves rekindly their bond and feelings from childhood, Y/n rushing her septa along each morning to spend more time with Jace. As the wedding drew nearer Y/n and Jace began to sneak around, both wishing to speak honestly than the secretive conversations they had infront of her Septa.

"You are beautiful Y/n, although i think you'd look better in red or black." Jace said with a laugh as they walked, Y/n joining in her arm looped in his as they walked through the dragonpit. "I think you are right Jace, i must admit i am quite excited for our wedding. It will be nice to know i am marrying someone i love rather than a disgusting old man wanting an alliance." Y/n spoke so quickly she did not realise her confession, Jace blushed hard and continued walking as she kept talking about her wishes for married life. His blush darkening as she spoke of children, teaching them how to ride dragons and taking them to dragonstone. His step-father had taken him to the whore houses in kingslanding saying he needed to keep his wife happy, he felt very odd learning to make love to someone other than his wife.

"And how many children would you like Y/n?" Jace spoke, his voice naturally deepened from his thoughts, Y/n stopped walking as she realised what she had been speaking about. The hint in his question making her blush wildly, stuttering over her words as she changed the topic. Jace could not stop his affection grow as they spoke of their childhoods.

The night of the wedding was coming to a close, everyone drinking wine and laughing as they grew closer. Alicent and Rhaenyra speaking as they did when they were younger, Viserys had declared the night before Rhaenyra as his heir. It was clear he was on his death bed however he rose to walk his daughter down the aisle, Y/n kissed his cheek as he sat down. It was odd seeing her whole family relaxed and happy, Lucerys had apologised to Aemond for his eye and even offered his own to mend the feud. Aemond had been mature and declined saying there was no bad blood now, Aegon had never been so happy he was finally not heir and his mother let him be. Everyone slowly dispersed until it was only Y/n and Jace walking towards their new chambers, both nervous as the entered.

Jace held Y/n's face, looking into her eyes before kissing her gently, Y/n kissing back immediately. Her hands running up his arm towards his neck, pulling him closer, his arm wrapping around her waist as they walked back towards the bed. Her knees meeting the bed as she fell back, her lips pink and swollen from his kisses, his dark eyes looking down on her as he pushed some hair from her face.

"I always wanted to marry you, ever since we were young." He confessed with a soft smile towards her, Y/n pulled him back towards her, kissing him again as she mentally prepared herself for what was to come. Jace was everything she dreamed of and she knew she had fallen for him in the time they had spent together. The two melding together as their kisses became needy, small whines coming from Y/n as Jace ran his hands along her leg upto her thigh. Pulling away Jace asked to help her remove her dress, Y/n nodded standing with her back to him, facing the bed as she expected him to take it off her quickly. Jace trailed his hands along her shoulder, pushing her hair away as he slowly untied the lace. His hand brushing against her bare skin as he gently pushed it further off her shoulder, goosebumps covering her body at the anticipation. "You are stunning." He whispered against her skin as he kissed her shoulder blades, his mouth grazing over her neck. Her dress loose enough to slip down, his arms wrapping around her as the bodice slowly dropped. Her naked back against his clothed chest as he kissed her neck, small moans coming from her as he manipulated her head to get access to her throat. Small love bites along the column of her neck, his hand moving from her waist to gently grasp her breast. Y/n's head dropped to his shoulder allowing him as much of her skin as he could get, her eyes closed as she moaned gently against him. Her change in position causing her dress to fully slip down, revealing her naked body to her husband. Jace grazed his hand from her waist down until he nudged her legs apart his nimble fingers pressed between her folds. The new contact making her moan, her hand coming to hold his arm as he began moving his fingers. "Jace, what are you doing?" She breathed out, turning her head only for her question to be silenced by his mouth. Kissing her as he quickened his fingers, her body responding quickly as his hand moved from her breast to hold her against him at her waist. Her breathed becoming laboured, her grip on his arm tighter as small moans came from her. Her stomach tightening as he broke the kiss to suck marks on her neck, finding a good hold on her to pinch at her breasts, fondling them as he whispered encouragements to her. One of his fingers moving further down and slipping into her, a loud moan coming from her as he slowly fucked her with his finger, adding another as she squeezed him. "Jace i can't, i don't know what's happening." She spoke as she felt herself getting closer, she hadn't been prepared for this, her septa always explaining to simply lay and let her husband do as he wished, reminding her it would hurt. This did not hurt, she could feel her toes tingling as he carried on his ministrations, her words only making him praise her more. "You're doing so well for me wife, i have to prepare you, you're so good for me, so perfect." As he spoke his fingers sped up, his thumb in time as he felt her legs shake. Y/n coming as she breathlessly spoke his name, her legs giving out as she did. Jace catching her and laying her gently on the bed, sucking his fingers clean before beginning to strip.

"That was just a taste Y/n, i hope you're ready for a long night." Jace spoke as he kissed up her leg.

hotd episode 6 thoughts

ohhhh the family drama in this one was DELICIOUS, i enjoyed it very much.

i will admit i found the time skip a little jarring at first even though i knew it was coming, just because so much stuff happened during those years, but emma d’arcy and olivia cooke were absolutely SERVING and i loved them.

rhaenyra with her kids … rhaenyra obviously loving them so so much … rhaenyra smiling as soon as she saw baby joffrey … oh it was a lot.

as soon as older rhaenyra said “fuck” while climbing the stairs i was like. yes. absolutely. i love you, this is perfect casting.

i have been overly invested in daemon and rhaenyra’s children ever since reading f&b so i feel pretty emotional actually seeing jace, luke, joffrey, rhaena, and baela on my tv screen. they’re real! they’re little and squishy! i want desperately to protect them!

i’m really glad that they included alicent’s “do keep trying, sooner or later you may get one that looks like you” bit, it’s such an iconic line of bitchy dialogue.

i SO wish that we had gotten to see more of the relationship between rhaenyra and harwin (they didn’t even kiss!) but the little bits that we did see of it were really tender and lovely, especially with baby joffrey.

helaena targaryen being a weird little girl with a bug collection is something that can be so personal, actually.

also, her saying something like “you’ll have to close an eye” while aemond is talking to alicent about wanting a dragon … please oh PLEASE let helaena have prophetic dreams, that would be great.

i am aware that aemond targaryen is going to grow up to commit a ton of war crimes but honestly i just wanted to give him a hug in this episode.

alicent being constantly exasperated that her children are growing up to be a bunch of absolute weirdos was really, really funny.

we finally got to see vhagar! she is so large and so ugly and i love her very much and seeing her fly with caraxes was a lot of fun.

i’m really sad that we only got to see adult laena for one episode, she was so regal and self-possessed and i really liked her interactions with her daughters and the fact that she clearly doesn’t want to indulge daemon’s sulking.

the implication that daemon stayed away from westeros for 10 years because he couldn’t stand to be around rhaenyra when they were married to other people … oh man. oh boy. that is so much. can’t deal with this right now, sorry!

alicent and criston having a weird warped version of fealty and courtly love based on their shared hatred of the same person … yesssss i love it give me more.

harwin strong in his dilf era repeatedly punching criston cole in the face is literally everything i wanted to see from him in this episode.

viserys talking about the bonds of friendship being forged through combat together while aegon ii is beating up his nephews is just like. jesus christ. viserys please learn to read the room.

alicent and larys having their scheming little dinner together was so fun, especially since it’s clearly a common practice. seems like larys is going full-on villain and that’s going to be entertaining to watch.

kind of sad to see that daemon and rhaenyra’s marriages are both breaking down, but i can understand why since there are a lot of stressors in both of those relationships.

around halfway through this episode i was like “there seems to be a lot going on here, maybe i won’t have to watch harwin and laena die yet” so the last 10 minutes absolutely sucker-punched me.

rip lyonel strong you were a real one and possibly the only man in westeros with both honor and common sense.

i am not quite sure how i feel about laena’s death, i always thought childbirth was a lazy way to get rid of her and i can see that they were trying to add more dignity/autonomy but it also made it more violent … i’ll have to think on it.

the milf on milf violence in this was just really fun and i can’t wait to see more.

During your first pregnancy, Daemon found himself in a crisis.

He had no idea how to be a father.

He was a ruthless warrior, for gods' sake! He never took care of children before.

He wasted time trying to remember some of his brother's actions when Rhaenyra was young, but that was no example for him.

Viserys is a king, so it was never expected of him to take care of his daughter, or even educate her. And he never did.

Daemon remembers his father really well. He was 20 when Baelon passed away, and that's the only example of parenting he had.

Daemon knew in his heart he had a great father, and that's what he wanted to be for his children.

You were a few moons away from giving birth, and your husband couldn't stop babbling about baby names, and picking a good dragon egg to place in the crib, and fantasizing about taking the child to meet Caraxes, and...

Honestly, you couldn't wait for the child to be born.

And when Rhaegon finally arrived into your life, Daemon became everything he said he would be.

He was terrified at first. The man had no idea how to hold a child, he only held swords in his entire life.

But eventually he figured it was easier than it looked like.

Years later, Daemon learned that taking care of a child and raising a child are two completely different things.

Rhaegon was three when you had your baby girl, Alyssa.

Daemon fell in love. And when her little hands touched his face for the first time, he felt loved.

The Rogue Prince couldn't be burned by fire, but time was the thing that made his heart ache.

Alyssa was growing up quickly, and Daemon felt the years passing by like a sharp valyrian blade cutting through his skin.

In the eyes of her father, Alyssa Targaryen was perfect. She had your beauty, your delicacy, but she also had his temper.

"But I told you not to play in the dragonpit!" Daemon scolded her while washing her dust stained platinum hair.

"Aegon said it would be fun!" Alyssa retorted.

"Dreamfyre is not to play with, she could have burned you. And, you shouldn't be with Aegon, I don't want you near him again. He's much older than you."

"But why is it a problem?" The little girl protested.

"Because I said so."

"But why?! Aegon is funny, and Rhaegon doesn't let me play with him and Luke and Jace. At least Aegon doesn't make me wanna smack his face like Rhaegon does." Alyssa murmured.

"Alyssa, don't say that! And certainly, do not hurt your brother. Listen, I'm gonna talk to him, okay? But you need to promise me that you'll never listen to Aegon again. Do not trust that kid, none of them."

Daemon couldn't bear the thought of his eight year old daughter hanging around the thirteen year old prince. He knew Aegon was some kind of pervert, and he did not wanted that boy near his little girl.

Daemon never lost his temper with his kids.

He feared that someday they would be scared of him.

But he knew how to lecture his children.

"Your sister told me you don't let her play with you and Rhaenyra's boys. Mind tell me why's that?"

"She's a girl! She could be playing with Helaena, why do I have to play with her?" Rhaegon rolled his eyes.

"Because she is your sis– Did you just roll your eyes at me?" Daemon stared at his son with a menacing gaze that immediately made the boy shake.

"N-no...?"

"I think you did. I think you rolled your eyes at me, Rhaegon." Daemon gave one step ahead, and his giant form towered the boy's body.

"I'm sorry, father. I'll ask Alyssa to play with Jace, Luke and me."

"You better, boy." Daemon said with a stern voice before leaving the room.

You tried not to interfere in Daemon's way of scolding the kids, but if you thought he was being too much, then you would say something.

Sometimes he would make the children eat alone in their chambers if they'd misbehave.

Sometimes he would make them do chores.

Sometimes he would just ground them in their rooms.

But he never, ever, raised his hand to touch one of his children.

Daemon had killed so many men in battle, but had never hurt a child in his whole life. He intended to stay that way.

Daemon Targaryen could be many terrible things, but he certainly was not a bad father.

He would rather die before hurting one of his children.

And when Maegon was born, he couldn't wait to go through the beginning of parenting all over again.

I can't be the only one who thinks Alicent is a good mother and didn't became like Otto. Like i know she is not an ideal mother (child bride, teenage mom ,maritally raped abusive , dad and husband ,dead beat father of her children, her kids's life are at stake) but she tries her best and loves them more than anything .

Also ''She puts Hel thought the same things that happened to her'' ...UHM .Hel and Aegon aren't in the happiest marriage alive in the show ,but i think we can say that Aegon has enough sense of family and desire to be loved that makes him like ''I can rape a maid and abuse her BUT my sisterwife and mother of my kids stays untouched'' and like ..messed up and wrong thinking but still .

Hel is 13 when she has kids ,and Alicent does betroth them in the show ,but it's also true that Viserys wouldn't have allowed other any match other than Jace or Aegon ,since he wants to minimize the Greens influence by not marrying them to other houses expect their own or the Blacks one .Alicent knows Hel marrying a bastard would make her in danger ,so Aegon is the safer option .And honestly ,it was just as forced on Aegon as on Helaena .And trust me ,Alicent who would kill for her kids certainly didn't agree with the idea of such an early consumation .

Viserys who marries two and impregnates two teeangers howewer...

''But she forces Aegon on the throne like Otto did with her '' PLEASE .Otto does it because he wants power and is ambitious ,Alicent wants to keep her son alive ffs .

Summary: What if Rhaenyra had another child? What if Rhaenyra had a daughter with white hair and purple eyes? What if she was betrothed to Aemond as an alliance with Greens?

The Dragon Dance Part 03:

You hear the knock on your door, you walk up to the door and open it. As you open the wooden door, you see your mother and father. You smiled at them and opened the door further, silently telling them to come into your chambers. They came into your chambers, closing the door behind them.

“My dear daughter, how are you doing?” Your mother Rhaenrya asked you in a worried tone. Having one hand holding yours, while the other holds your cheek.

You hold the hand that holds your cheek, giving your mother a small smile. “I’m okay mother, I’ve heard worse things. I just wished he didn’t call you that awful word.”

Rhaenrya puts her forehead against yours, “I rather have people call me every wicked name in the book, than have you and brothers being called horrible names.”

You feel Daemon but his hand on your shoulder, giving you some comfort as well. “You have some news we want to share with you Y/N.” You hear Daemon say.

You turn to look at him, “what is the news father?” You asked.

“We talked to Alicent.” Your mother replied.

Your eyes widened, you were a little surprised to hear that. You only know bits and pieces about what happened between your mother and the queen. You know there is strain in their relationship, but you know that your mother wants to repair the damage between not just Alicent but her children as well. You and Rhaenyra have talked about this multiple times, about both of you just wanting to rebuild the relationship and not have families divided. They may be strong as when apart, however they both know that together they would be stronger. 

“Oh and how did that go mother?” You asked.

“She agreed to have me take the throne and rule as queen. In exchange instead of having Jace take the throne, Aemond will take the throne after me.” Rhaenyra explained. “She also agreed to have you betrothed to Aemond. To show and prove an alliance has been made between us.”

You smile at your mother, happy that there was some progress to closing the gap. Now there is one more hurdle to jump over. Your brothers and Aegon and Aemond feud between the four of them. You heard what happened between the four of them and your heart breaks a little. All of you were close once, and now it feels like you’re all further apart.

“Are you sure you want this Y/N? I know we discussed this before, it’s not too late to back out of it.” Daemon asked with concern. Before you and your family left for King's Landing, all of you had a family meeting. Both your father and mother asked you beforehand if you wanted to be betrothed to Aemond. Rhaenyra and Daemon wanted you to choose who you wanted to marry, they wanted to give that freedom that Rhaenyra didn’t have. You agreed to being betrothed to Aemond. You wanted peace and to have your family a whole again, and you didn’t mind being betrothed to Aemond. Even though it’s been ten years, you still trust him. You know Aemond would respect you not just as a woman but as an equal. 

“I’m still sure father. I want this silly feud to end, I'm pretty sure grandfather would want his family to be whole again too.” You reassured your father with a smile.

Daemon sighed in defeat, both of your parents started to escort you to the dining hall. You see Aemond smiling at you, you're convinced he heard the news about you being his betrothed by Alicent. Aemond starts walking towards you, holding out his hand for you to take. You take his hand and he guides you to the table.

“I’m guessing your mother has told you the news then?” You asked.

“I did, dear niece, it seems you are going to become my wife.” Aemond smirked at you. “Are you sure you want this? I don’t want to force you into a marriage you don’t want?” He asked quietly.

You turn to face him, “I don’t agree with things that I don’t want to do Aemond. I agreed to become your wife not only to show alliance, but also because I want to marry you.” You reassure him, you put your hand on his cheek rubbing your thumb against it.

Aemond leans closer to you putting one of his arms around your waist, he turns his head to kiss your palm. He holds your hand that was his cheek, leans a little closer to you. Whispering in your ear, “know this my dear Y/N, once you are mine you are mine.” He growled.

Feeling his hot breath on the shell of your ear, you feel heat forming on your cheeks. “And you are mine uncle.” You whisper back.

“You are going to be the death of me woman.” Aemond growled.

You giggle at him sweetly, Aemond starts walking you to the table. He sees his brother Aegon eyeing you. Aemond knows his brother, he knows Aegon wants you because Aemond wants you. He gives Aegon a warning glare, while pulling a chair next to your brother Lucerys. You pray that this dinner goes smoothly not just for your sake but your grandfather’s as well.

How would you feel if I made Otto the villain in this scenario? I have an idea I want to play with, but I also want your guys an opinion on it before I make it official.

How would everyone react if Aemma lost her eye instead of Aemond? Like she tried to break up the fight and jumped in the middle, thus taking the knife for Aemond? I can imagine how devastated Viserys and Rhaenyra would be, it feels like they failed to protect Aemma again…

It would depend on who Aemma!lookalike was the child of honestly. If she was Rhaenyra’s child I think Viserys would be more likely to have one of his kids take out their own eye for the one that was damaged for the Reader. Alicent would still very much fight it, but if Aemma!lookalike was her child she’d be demanding an eye from Jace or Like all the same. The only difference would be she would rely on the fact that it was in regards to Aemma!lookalike that she would hopefully actually get Viserys to command one of Rhaenyra’s children’s eyes as recompense.

Rhaenyra would feel especially guilt ridden. She would get after the other children involved for having started a fight in general but most importantly for not having kept the Reader out of it. She definitely feels like she has failed her child by not protecting them and now they’re not only scarred but literally missing a part of themself now. Rhaenyra would be reminded of the fact that she failed Aemma!lookalike everyday, even if the damage is hidden (the Reader may wear their hair a certain way to cover their missing eye now), Rhaenyra would forever have to look at her poor child knowing full well she wasn’t there for them when they needed her most. One thing would be for certain though, after this ordeal Rhaenyra would never allow her precious child anywhere out of her sight let alone out of her reach.

Something that would really make Rhaenyra’s heart clench would be if the Reader were to just be accepting of the situation from the start. Like, “Yaeh this happened and it’s my life now but at least my brothers and cousins are safe.” Even if they were to just fake it and put on a brave face for her would mean a lot. It wouldn’t take away from anything at all but it would have Rhaenyra adoring her child all the more. Especially if they were doing so just to ease everyone else around them after such a distressing situation.

Viserys would definitely feel as though he also failed Aemma!lookalike!Reader. He would feel just as guilt ridden as his daughter. He may even have one of his children take an eye out just so the Reader doesn’t feel alone. Viserys would definitely have Rhaenyra keep the Reader close after this incident. He would want her to be extremely cautious from then on out when regarding the Reader in particular. Afterward, Viserys would always compliment the Reader even more than he did before. He wouldn’t want them to feel like any of their beauty has diminished all because they were missing one measly eye now. He would enforce that his children, Alicent, and Daemon go out of their way to compliment and assure Aemma!lookalike that they are still the same as they were before, that nothing about them has changed due to this unfortunate situation.

Daemon would have no problem cutting out one of Alicent’s children’s eyes for the Reader. He’d happily do so if given the chance. Other than that though he would certainly be the one to tell the Reader that their scar looked pretty badass. He’d be the one to hype them the fuck up and to give them the real confidence they need afterward, even if they’re trying to put on a brave face Daemon could see right through it. He would even offer to cut out his own eye if it would make them feel better and he would actually go through with it if they so wanted.

I like to think that in the scenario that Aemma!lookalike was Rhaenyra’s child and lost their eye that Alicent would finally come to realize that they aren’t just solely the doppelgänger of her husband’s late wife but also their own person and a child at that. Like, this is a child that just went through something traumatic and took a injury that was meant for her own child. I think that Alicent would feel a sense of remorse for what happened to the Reader, especially if her children were affected by it (mainly Aemond and Helaena). Maybe not enough to have any of her children lose an eye just so the Reader doesn’t feel bad but there would be some grief in her about the incident. She may try to put her resentment towards the Reader aside and start anew with them, not even taking her and Rhaenyra’s own relationship into account.

Helaena would be so incredibly worried upon seeing her best friend after everything. She would want to immediately go to them and see that they’re truly okay for herself. She’d want to be with them every waking moment after that. It would hurt her knowing that her own brother had a part in all of this but Aemond and Alicent would be able to spin it around on her that Luke was really to blame since he was the one wielding the dagger that injured the Reader. I see Helaena being the one to really touch and caress the Reader’s scar the most afterward, paying more overall attention to that side of their face from then on. She just thinks so much of the Reader and no scar or missing eye could change that. She would want the Reader to not hide their injury in her company, wanting to be able to see it. Helaena would really strive for the Reader to embrace it and she’ll be with them every step of the way to help them get to that point.

I think some the biggest and most prominent reactions are going to really come from the ones who were actually involved in the reason why the Reader lost an eye. Aemond, Jace, Luke, Baela, and Rhaena would be the ones who would really take the hardest to the whole thing having been there to not only witness it but also be the reason behind it.

Aemond would wholeheartedly blame the other kids involved. If it weren’t for them Aemma!lookalike wouldn’t have been there in the first place and certainly wouldn’t have lost her eye because of it. It would definitely mean a lot to him that she did end up getting injured for him, at least that’s how he would see it. She was just trying to help him and got severely hurt because of it. Aemond wouldn’t be able to bring himself to trust the other kids with the Reader after this. They just proved to him that not only are they incapable of protecting the Reader but that they also would end up putting Aemma!lookalike in dangerous situations. Even though he himself wasn’t capable of protecting the Reader in that moment he’ll train hard enough to be able to in the future.

Jace would feel utterly terrible. He didn’t protect his sister, he got her into a mess and she ended up losing something irreplaceable because of it. He would never forgive himself for not preventing it from happening and for not being strong enough to do something more in the moment. Jace would blame Aemond for the entire situation, as do the other kids. After everything he would become extremely overprotective of his sister, especially around Aemond. He can’t trust that Aemond won’t start trouble again resulting in the Reader getting injured all over again. Jace won’t let that happen, not again. He won’t fail his beloved Aemma!lookalike or their mother again by not being able to protect her.

I think Luke would be the most affected by the whole thing. He was the one after all who pulled the knife and ended up hurting his sister, although his target was in fact Aemond. He would never be able to forgive himself for disfiguring his own precious sibling. How could he? No matter what anyone said to him; from his mother to Jace or Daemon to the Reader themself, Luke wouldn’t be able to let go of what he had done. He would vow to make up for it for the rest of his life. He would work hard not only to earn the Reader’s forgiveness (no matter how many times they’ve already forgiven him) but to also be able to protect them just like Jace and Aemond plan to. Luke would be attached to the Reader’s hip afterward, helping them as much as he can. And whenever he saw their scar he’d always apologize from then on, asking how they are or how it was.

Baela and Rhaena would both feel guilty, like they’re at fault for the Reader being in that situation in the first place. Of course they both still wholeheartedly blame Aemond for taking their mother’s dragon and stand by him being the real reason for all of this as a whole, but they still feel terrible about what happened. They would also stay by the Reader’s side, similar to Jace and Luke. Comforting and consoling Aemma!lookalike whenever they feel they need to. They’ll also take after Daemon and assure the Reader of how incredibly powerful and beautiful they look with the scar and the eye patch they have to where now. Even if the Reader does still go ahead and cover their eye with their hair, Baela and Rhaena would still hype the shit out of her.

I like the thought of Aemond, Jace, or Luke, maybe even Balea or Rhaena offering to take out one of their eyes of their own accord for Aemma!lookalike. I more so see Aemond doing so, especially if he and the Reader were best friends or he had a crush on her. Like, I imagine the Reader being tended to by the maesters, Rhaenyra by her side, and in walks Aemond missing his own eye and offering said eye to the Reader himself. Alicent would be fucking horrified that her son would do that but it would also be weirdly sweet. I could see Daemon kind of respecting the action. (Also, I couldn’t help but have the idea of Aemond cutting out and offering his own eye to Aemma!lookalike as a marriage proposal👀.)

I’m actually curious to see if, and honestly hope, in s2 (whenever that may come out. Studios pay your writers and actors) we get some sort of callback or allusion to the rumor that Jacaerys tried to convert Cregan from the old gods to the faith of the seven.

Not because I care about the gods, outside the religious symbolism they bring. I only want to see people’s reactions. Namely the ones who act as if Alicent is the first woman to ever openly practice the faith. Because I have a feeling those same people will paint Jace possibly doing that as endearing versus Alicent who gets painted as a monster for her connection to the faith. The most we see Alicent doing a redecorating her home. Mind you, not even every room because you can clearly see the tacky tapestries in Viserys’ room in ep 8. Plus we see her praying and wearing religious iconography. Things that are not out of the ordinary… at all. She’s honestly your textbook highborn noble woman during that time. She was born and raised in Oldtown ffs. What is she supposed to follow if not the faith💀

She gets seen as this horrible zealot out to destroy the Targaryens through the faith, and to me that is just indicative on how badly people misinterpret Alicent’s feelings/motivations.

People can have their problems with the writing in hotd. I know there are certain things I have problems with myself. But when can we start being honest about how a lot of the conversations that are regurgitated and argued about day after day have less to do with the writing, and more to do with bad faith viewing. People are watching to see what they want to see, not what is actually in front of them.

Anyone with an objective view of Alicent would be able to tell how much she clings to the faith for salvation and hope. She does it to feel close to her mother, and very kindly/cautiously tries to help Rhaenyra with that too. She then reaffirms her faith after 1. She (imo justifiably) loses her shit at Driftmark and feels guilty about it, and 2. Has to marry her children to each other. Something she expresses thinking is immoral in the past. We even see her cut her hair, more than likely as a means of punishment and repentance. She’s miserable and has very few lifelines to hold onto.

How that gets twisted into her being a bigot because she doesn’t want to see dragons having orgies on her walls is beyond me.

Also the idea she is trying to bring down House Targaryen is nuts, but also laughable. Because between her and her actual Targaryen husband, Alicent is the one affirming her childrens’ Targaryen heritage. She makes sure Aemond knows he will get a dragon one day. She makes sure Aegon gets Blackfyre and his namesake’s crown. It seems like Aemond, and more than likely her other kids, know Valyrian. Ironically, the most anti targ (and frankly valid) sentiments we get are from Viserys. He speaks on the doom, fears what is to come, and how they never should have messed with dragons.

Alicent ‘let the people remember the ancient strength of House Targaryen’ Hightower is not the Baelor y’all want her to be. And if she was, it would’ve worked in her favor more. People tend to leave out the part where the most beloved Targaryens (by their people) were partly that because of their connection to the faith. Ya know the thing Targaryens also practice.

OH like specifically HOTD verse? Hmmmm.

I'd still want Larys, even with him being like "Tyrion but slightly to the left" some of my favorite Tyrion chapters involve his relationship with Jaime and getting that dynamic but worse would certainly be beautifully written. But I'd also really want Harwin as well. We get all three Lannister kids (I say as if they aren't all like my age or older lmao) so I think it's fine to get Harwin and Larys, even interesting to see the differences in how they view their relationship with each other and their father. Absolutely we need dragon twins PoVs and Jacaerys PoV because they got paid jack shit in the show so far, especially the girls. I'd want a Laena PoV, a Rhaenys PoV, and a Helaena PoV here as well.

I think in the show, with the way it's vibe is, you could justify an Alicent and Rhaenyra PoV BUT only if there is absolutely NO Otto, Viserys, Daemon, or Corlys. Honestly the less men the better. Every man we get needs to either die before the main action - Laenor, Harwin, Harold Westerling - or just is NOT a grown man involved in the physical fighting - so still Jace, Larys, you could argue for Steffon largely because he's not inheriting anything, he's just in the Kingsguard, etc, but I'd be okay with dropping him in favor of one of Aegon's bastard Kingsguard like Mervyn Flowers or Marston Waters. I think Helaena and Alicent being our main looks into the minds of Aegon, Aemond, and Otto is really keeping on theme, and I think our main look at Daemon and Corlys being their wives and children also keeps on theme, even though Daemon is a second son who isn't inheriting anything.

I guess we should have Criston too but I'm listening on 3x speed like I do with Tyrion when I'm angry.

as always i am happy that we got to see some of the dragons but i would have loved even more. where is syrax! i want to see her all grown up!

i’m glad we got the velaryons mourning laena, but it really did make me wish that we’d gotten to see more of her alive. laenor is clearly grieving his sister, but i honestly don’t think they ever had any significant scenes together.

corlys and rhaenys with their grandchildren was really sweet, i especially loved seeing rhaenys comfort rhaena and baela at the funeral.

helaena targaryen continues to be a weird little girl and i support her!

i love the idea of making aemond care more about helaena than aegon does, it’s a good characterization bit and also incredibly evil (cannot wait to see Certain Events that happen as a direct result of aemond’s actions utterly ruin their relationship).

why was this episode so dark. i could see everything but it was really gray :(

however i did like the part where everyone was standing around awkwardly after the funeral, the interpersonal drama was delicious.

matt smith and emma d’aracy have great chemistry, all the staring they did at the funeral made me SO impatient for them to actually interact, and their conversation on the beach was fantastic. 

loved getting to see them confront all their thoughts and feelings about each other that have built up over ten years. i’ve always found their relationship compelling to watch even though it’s obviously. you know. incestuous. it’s just fun to watch! and i feel less “step away from the underage girl” now that rhaenyra is older.

i know harwin strong is dead and never coming back but i’m still glad that we got to see jace mourning him and rhaenyra talking about their relationship.

a brothel …. a shack on the beach … daemon i am literally begging you to bring rhaenyra somewhere actually nice on your next date.

the scene of aemond claiming vhagar was both funny and awesome, the visual of this tiny little kid riding a huge old dragon and screaming his head off was hilarious but the moonlight dragon ride was very cool.

truly family solidarity as exemplified by the targaryen-velaryon kids is when your cousin that you just met for the first time that day wakes you up in the middle of the night to tell you your uncle stole her dead mom’s dragon so you go beat him up together!

i like the added detail that rhaena was planning to claim vhagar, it adds even more betrayal to aemond taking her instead.

is house of the dragon actually an extended psa about the dangers of giving young children knives? maybe so!

mom rhaenyra looking after her kids and making sure they’re okay is very important to me :)

honestly, i felt pretty bad for aemond in the big confrontation scene, he was kind of a jerk to the other kids but it can’t be fun to get yelled at by your dad when you’ve just lost an eye.

i absolutely LOVED the tension in that scene and the way that it built and built until alicent just went for it and tried to stab rhaenyra. characters going completely feral and unhinged in the BEST and alicent dropping her mask of cordiality and screaming at rhaenyra was so, so good.

viserys your parental favoritism is reeeally showing…

the scene between rhaenyra and laenor was wonderful, i’m so glad the show made it clear that even though they have their differences and have been basically forced into a marriage together they still care about each other and their kids a lot.

loved that larys was like “hey alicent want me to stab a kid’s eye out for you? :)” and alicent was like “no dude i’ll actually TELL you when i want you to kill someone.” she’s learning!

there were 3 dragons when the boat was sailing away, does that mean helaena has already claimed dreamfyre?

when rhaenyra and daemon started talking about getting married i was SO worried that i was going to see them engage in some not chill behavior together and kill laenor so i’m glad that didn’t happen.

i do have to respect this show for avoiding another bury your gays by having laenor fake his death but. uh. is anyone ever going to tell corlys and rhaenys that their son isn’t dead?

the valyrian wedding between daemon and rhaenyra was really cool but tbh i was kind of laughing at them passionately making out with tongue in front of their kids.

i say this every week but i am VERY excited for next week, looks like we’re in for even more family drama.

Why do u think of the theory that Aemond actually cares for Helena and the kids are his? I actually wouldn’t mind it because he might be more tolerable. Helena is the only likable green at all. Like it would add some humanity to him that wouldn’t be annoying or bad writing. Maybe… and the irony that he killed Luc and we don’t know if the Blacks would know the son is Aeomond’s… Team Black ONLY: thoughts??

Frankly, for the book, this theory is clearly a throwaway.

But it could be possible in the show given how these writers do anything, and the fact that technically it could clearly work with what was briefly shown in season 1.

Already there is the fact that it was Helaena specifically who prophesied that Aemond would lose an eye. We are introduced that she is a dreamer through Aemond.

Also Aemond did not seem at all against the idea of ​​marrying Helaena and did not seem to like how Aegon II spoke of her.

Generally speaking, Helaena is always placed next to Aemond.

Without forgetting the moment where Jace invites Helaena to dance which seems to annoy him, even if this is also the case for Aegon II and it is probably due to a simple rivalry between Aemond and the Velaryon boys, but compiled by the rest that may raise questions.

There are also these weird scenes in episode 9 where Helaena catches Aemond's look when he enters the room.

And then she always seems close to him during the coronation of Aegon II, still leaning towards Aemond.

Plus the fact that she seems to caress / touch his arm when Rhaenys attacks.

It could clearly make it into the show.

I am both for and against. Already I am against because of the book. More whitewashing for Aemond in the show...

But on the other hand, I could agree that already, at least Helaena could have had a little respite by having her children with someone 'one she likes.

And then also, the Green stans could no longer open up about the fact that the Velaryons boys are illegitimate children or about the fact that there is no incest in their team (at least consented and therefore abominable according to their term, even if Aegon II has already made sexual advances towards Baela who is his family, so still incest, but hey, apparently Aegon II is against incest ! 😂).

Honestly, I think if that happened it would just make me laugh.

And I would love to see Alicent's reaction to this, she who harassed Rhaenyra for years for not having her children with Laenor when her own daughter would have done the same.

That would be delicious.

Although I know some green stans would love to see Helaena & Aemond perform. Again, not really consistent with most of their initial comments but hey ! It's not like we should look for logic in the Green stans after all, or even in the basic HOTD show...

In any case, I will always choose Helaemond if they want to do something "romantic" with the character of Aemond, to avoid dealing with the romanticization of Alysmond... Definitely a woman that Aemond raped, since he took her as a prize of war, and it disgusts me to see this being romanticized.

But anyway, in the sole context of HOTD with what season 1 gave us, yes, Aemond being the father of Helaena's children could totally pass if that's what the writers want to do.

But honestly, Helaemond shp is just a pale copy of the Aemon & Naerys relationship in my eyes.

Please please please say we will get more of your fantastic one queen two kings thing story?

Has the kids asked about her and their uncle eggs siblings? And what happened to them?

Imagine trying to explain when they ask about readers parents and what happened. Maybe they heard somewhere that Aegon killed Nyra and so they come to see if it is true. That their dad killed their beloved mothers mother. Drama!!!!

But seriously I love this series. Seeing them with the kids. Love to see some cute fluffy moments but as wrote above the fluffy can be after the drama hahah.

I need to see the two dads with twin daughters. How much they would love and spoil them etc. also how protective Aegon would be with all his kids as we saw in the one shot about his oldest daughter that he had with Helena. I imagine he would be so protective of all their future children after what happened to his two sons.

omg anon I didn't expect this at all, it's been a long time since someone wrote to me about "The Queen and her Husbands". I'M HAPPY THAT YOU ENJOY THAT UNIVERSE SO MUCH 🥰🥰

Honestly I have so many wips and ideas with dad Aegon, dad Aemond and Queen Reader mom but I haven't finished writing them.

This is sad but I don't see the Queen talking to her children (except Aemon) about Rhaenyra and her brothers. The Queen didn't like to think about her mother, she has unresolved problems with Rhaenyra but she also regrets how she treated her, so if she can avoid talking about her the better. But I imagine Egg sometimes talking about Rhaenyra to his nephews, it makes him sad but he knows that it bothers Aegon II that he talks about Rhaenyra so he keeps doing it 🤪

I can see Alyssa going to Aegon after Egg tells her a story about Rhaenyra.

Alyssa: Why did you kill grandmother Rhaenyra? She was great"

Aegon II: She wasn't great! She killed your brother Jaehaerys!

Alyssa: Oh…

Returning to the Queen. She thinks about her brothers every day and she always misses them. But she doesn't talk about them because she knows that would upset Aemond. Just imagine Reader telling how wonderful her siblings were and then Daella saying "I want to marry someone as kind as Uncle Lucerys was", Baelon and Daeron saying "When I grow up I want to be like Uncle Jace" or Baelon and Alyssa going to complain to his father why he murdered his uncle. AEMOND WOULD LOSE HIS SHIT

Now why does the Queen talk to Aemon about her brothers? I have the headcanon that she accompanies her son to the yard for him to train, in that she finds the mark (that mark that Jace shows to Luke in chapter 8) and without thinking she tells Aemon the story of that mark. After that she makes him promise that he won't tell anyone, that it's a secret. Weeks pass and the Queen realizes that Aemon kept the secret so she begins to tell him more stories about Jacaerys, Lucerys and Joffrey. I can see Reader talking to her other children about her siblings but only on specific occasions. For example, Aelor feels self-conscious about being a bastard and she tells him about Jace, how he always pushed himself to reward something that wasn't her fault; Another occasion could be when Baelon is desperate to have his own dragon and Reader is scared that he will do something stupid. "Never think about getting on a dragon that already has a rider. I don't want you to end up like your uncle Joffrey." 😭

About the twin daughters, for now I don't think it will happen because the Queen already has too many children hahaha but I promise you that I will try to finish my wip quickly where Aemond lets his daughter comb his hair I 100% confirm that Aegon is protective of ALL of his children after losing Jaehaerys and Maelor
