I AN FERAL OVER THAT COWBOY GRAVES ASK. Gnawing on the bars of my enclosure, I am a rabid animal at this point. Imagining his darling is known as being very standoffish and cold. Doesn’t participate in any local celebrations, doesn’t even try to make any friends, and doesn’t even bother to make small talk or joke around with anyone she has to interact with, just grunts and moves on as quickly as possible. Doesn’t help that she has a resting bitch face. Oh, but she’s so sweet to the animals. Lingers on the edges of other people’s farms (maybe she can’t afford her own or something, idk), petting them and feeding them sugar cubes or other goodies. The softest look in her eyes when they nuzzle into her hands. ♥️♥️♥️
I actually see his darling as someone who is well known for being friendly, you just have to look past the resting bitch face. Maybe reader looks standoffish but people are drawn to them. It's a real problem! People just come up and share their worries with them, talk to them like they're old friends. Is always kind and courteous to folks, so they're well known in the rodeo circuit. I think they're a bronc rider like Goose, not well known for winning but well known for their kindness. I get very... silver and bronze buckle energy, which they're happy with.
But it's exactly because you're so used to people coming up and talking to you, to men hitting on you, that you're almost immune to Graves' charm. He finds you, desperate to try and flirt, try and win you over, and you're just... not interested. It drives him crazy. He's attractive, how are you not attracted to him? Ok so not interested in looks. He sidles up next to you at one of the food booths and pays for your food with crisp bills, even leaves a generous tip. You thank him, but not profusely. You don't seem even a little wooed, don't even spare him a genuine smile.
Yet you go to sit with your friends and you beam like sunshine on earth. You smile and laugh for them, take off your hat to fan your face with it in the summer heat. You're gorgeous and untouchable and he has to have you just- just to prove that he hasn't lost his touch. No other reason.
He corners you at the bar, cages you against the lacquered wood with a firm hand on either side of you. He leans heavily against his palms, flexing a little, showing off for you. Your eyes flick over him, you raise a brow, "Can I help you?" You ask like you're unimpressed. Graves leans a little closer, tips his head so he can drag his eyes over you.
"You wanna help me?" He asks, voice slick and flirty. You blink at him, some sweet mischief in your eyes that makes him want to purr for you. "I told you sweetheart, I'm gonna make you mine. Would go a lot faster with you helpin' out." He likes the way you nod, slow and purposeful before you hook a finger into one of his belt loops. You drag him close, turn your head to speak into his ear.
"Where's the fun in that," You tell him. You hate flirts like him, men that chase you just because you're a pretty feather in their cap. It's fun playing with them though. Worth it for the steely look in Graves' eye when you pull away and pat his chest, ducking under his arm to rejoin your friends.
You don't see the way his hands clench against the bar, the way he drops his head to laugh to himself, replacing his annoyance with mirth. Oh you are cute. Worth it, he thinks, worth every trouble he knows you're going to put him through. Worth a quick background check, and a dossier. No sense marrying someone he doesn't know, and that's where this is going. Soon as you figure out he's worth the trouble.

the man who falls – secret origins (1989)
[ID: Two cropped comic pages of Bruce Wayne as a child after falling into a cave and being ambushed by a swarm of bats. There's multiple narration boxes over the pages:
Page One: a three panel sequence of Bruce being rescued by his father. In the first panel, Bruce is screaming with his eyes squeezed shut in fear. He has his fists clenched in front of him and is wearing a reddish pink turtleneck sweater. The narration says, ‘Again, he shrieked — not in terror, but in despair...’ In the second panel, Thomas Wayne is shown from behind in a low angle. He's wearing a red sweater similar to Bruce and is holding a flashlight as he jerks Bruce into him. Above them is bats surrounding them and the broken wood floors that Bruce fell through. The narration continues, ‘The arm curled around him, muffling his voice, and his cheek rubbed against the rough wool of his father's jacket... He squeezed his eyes shut, willing himself to be away from here—’. In the third panel, they're standing outside. The narration reads, ‘When he opened them, he was in the area behind the mansion, in the pale light of the autumn afternoon, and his father's words pounded at him—’. Thomas is kneeling down in front of Bruce in front of the hole he fell in. He's gripping the child's shoulders as he scolds him, “Idiot! I told you never, never to go off alone. Didn't I? Didn't I?” Martha Wayne is behind them with her hand on the side of her face as she looks at them with relief that Bruce is okay.
Page Two: Martha is defending Bruce as Bruce has his head down. Thomas is still squeezing Bruce's shoulders as Martha tells him, “Thomas, he's frightened.” Thomas replies, “He damn well ought to be. He could have been killed.” Martha replaces Thomas's spot in front of Bruce, kneeling to gently place a hand on his upper arm and using a handkerchief to wipe his forehead. Bruce is standing with his fist still clenched and grimacing as Thomas angrily says, “He's got to learn.” Bruce is shown in a low angle, looking up at his mother with wide eyes. The narration continues, ‘He listened to his father's boots crushing the dead grass, and when he could no longer hear them, he dared to ask:’ “Mommy, was I in hell?” Martha soothes, “No, baby, that was just some old cave. You're safe now,” as she hugs him. His cheek is pressed against hers and she has her eyes closed as Bruce still looks uncertain. END ID]

Sorry-not-sorry I'm back on my normal 'Kevin and Argit were so small' bullshittery.
Because they fucking were. Kevin was twelve when Servantis tossed everybody, and Argit couldn't have been far off. They were middle school aged. 'Puberty would be starting about now if we weren't wandering the Null Void and therefor likely not eating near enough' aged.
A pair of children, with minimal education, no paperwork, no homes, no guardians. Wandering the Null Void and then the Milky Way, on their own. One a prime target for the slave trade, both prime targets for adults looking to take advantage of them (*coughcoughOttocoughcough*). With only as much security as they could provide themselves and each other. Only able to rely on themselves for the basic necessities of life.
And then this show has the audacity to try to tell me that they turned to crime due to poor morality. That they're money focused because they're just naturally greedy. That they don't trust people and look out for themselves because they're bad people that either will always be bad people or will only improve because of the power of Tennysons.
What options were there for them? What jobs are there in the Null Void? What jobs are there in the galaxy that'll hire barely-teens, if even that, with no paperwork or educations, that wouldn't ruin them as badly and pay worse than the crime they already had experience with? Will keep them fed and clothed and sheltered? When one of them already has a criminal record, for violent crimes at that? When there's nobody there to stop even the 'good' adults from taking advantage of them?
The show will sit there and tell you that Kevin's violent crimes were the result of a rough childhood, but he and Argit's non-violent ones? Totally on them, no excuse, wholly a matter of greed and not giving a shit about other people. Fucking bullshit. This is a pair of kids who had to grow up way too fast, up against an existence that saw at least one of them as easy profit, with nothing but themselves and each other, and no opportunities. They're a pair of traumatized kids who grabbed the opportunities available to them with both hands and were molded by the problems they faced.
Of course they're money-focused, unlike the Tennysons they don't and haven't had anybody making sure they had enough to get by. They've had to support themselves and live with the constant worry that something is going to go pear-shaped and they'll have nothing.
They spent years with anybody and everybody being a potential threat (even between the two of them, Argit's noting that Kevin's snapping while he worked for the Rooters was the worst he'd seen 'before or since' makes it quite clear he's seen him on and passed the edge at least as much if not more than we have), of course they're going to be slow to trust, quick to toss people aside, and unwilling to help their enemies without some sort of payout, they've been burned before.
Just- Damnit these two come from some shitty fucking situations, the effects they had on them are obvious if you bother to fucking look, and they both deserved better than the series just going "oh yeah they're assholes what do you expect they're criminals" and moving the fuck on. Like, for fuck's sake at least acknowledge that they're like this because life was a fucking lead pipe to the teeth to them! We know Kevin's situation was shit even before they met, we got to see it, but even if Argit had a perfectly good life beforehand (unlikely) the earliest we see him is being held captive for illegal experimentation purposes by law enforcement! These two have been through shit! At least acknowledge it!
Fuck, they could've replaced Color of Monkey with that, hitting on the differences between how Kevin and Argit adapted to their circumstances, give us upfront the Tennysons being a safety net that let Kevin heal (rather than just 'oh the Tennysons taught him morals because they're the Good People') while Argit's issues and lack of security kept him stagnant. It would go better with what we see of him over the course of OV leading up to the Rooters arc, and what we're shown in the Rooters arc. Give us him still being far from great or on the up-and-up but improving with the stability that comes with his 'hero' status, a repairing relationship with Kevin after that arc, and a flourishing, above-board business. Rather than backpedaling on any good the writers had thrown at him like they'd realized they were coming up against a cliff.
Shit that makes you want to get the writers by the shoulders and shake them mercilessly.

been looking in tags for a few days now to see if anyone else found the whole high cloud quintet and related story to be a bit.....poorly written, nonsensical, contradictory, full of plot holes and loose ends, etc. apparently i'm not the only one. (and i'm not even talking about shipping stuff, because any time I saw someone mad about bad writing, someone always replies to be homophobic and laugh about failed ships. weirdos.) it could have been so good but was thrown into the garbage for the most part (IF you noticed all the plot holes and contradiction. if not, then it's a fine enough story tbh. I expect most people to see it on surface level and not read all the little hidden lore bits and try to piece it together like my autistic brain did. which is ok! enjoy it if you liked it and ignore me 😆)

i got sad thinking about it, i wish Josh also had tidbits of closeness towards Markus the way North and Simon had, he was just as dedicated not only towards the cause but Markus himself as them but i dont recall seeing any ~little moment~ and his permanent death scene is kinda miserable/weirdly shot? idk he couldve had just a little extra of a pat at the back or something. im not sure what the word for what im talking about is rn but like just an exchange slightly removed from 'what to do/not do'

Ted and Michelle getting back together would make very little sense and would be a disservice to the characters, especially Ted.
Think about it, you have Ted who has spent three seasons trying to come to terms with his failed marriage and being separated from his son. The marriage failed because his ex-wife fell out of love with him. She then proceeded to get together with their former couple’s therapist without telling him, and she didn’t tell him that she had introduced him to their son. That’s some serious stuff to get over if they were to get together again. Ted deserves better than that.
Are we being led to believe that Michelle is falling in love with Ted again? In that case she’s falling in love with a man who is a mess, and who is at a very low point in his life and I’m not saying that he doesn’t deserve to be loved or be in a relationship because of that, I mean I’m a Ted/Trent shipper so… what I’m saying is, why did she fall out of love with him? Because he was too optimistic, too much with the positivity, too much hiding his true feelings that he himself barely knew affected him? And now that he’s having panic attacks and is depressed, that’s when she’s supposedly falling back in love. When some of his mental health struggles stems from her, not her fault per se, and I’m not putting the blame on her, but you can’t deny that she’s wrapped up in Ted’s struggle with mental health.
It would also feel strange that she’d fall back in love with him when they’re in two different countries with what I assume is very limited contact. We know they talk but how much time do they actually spend on talking about things that doesn’t have to do with Henry? And I know the saying “absence makes the heart grow fonder” but they tried that and it didn’t work, she still wanted a divorce. The one time we saw her come and visit she cries because she wants out of their marriage. But now all of a sudden, when they’ve gone through a divorce and she’s seeing someone else, then she suddenly wants Ted back? No thank you.
Michelle has honestly treated Ted kind of badly with the whole Jake thing, not telling him that she was serious enough with someone that she wanted to introduce him to their child. And the fact that she's dating their former couple's therapist is such a shitty thing to do. Like honestly, who the fuck does that? I don't blame her for wanting a divorce, that's fine. Yes it sucks for Ted but sometimes these things just happens. But I do not approve of the way she's handled things after the divorce. So for me having them get back together will never be a legitimate option.
I think that they’re building up to them being better co-parents. Getting them to the point where they are friends again. So that they eventually, in the future can have get togethers with their future partners and future grandchildren, without having to have separate celebrations and so on.

Actually insane that BBH thought giving charlie an egg “named” juanaflippa would calm him down like-
Bro…
I personally wish he had succeeded in his crusade of killing the eggs (not including Tilín since charlie is kind of a prental figure for her lol)
Like him being a cringefail dad/murderer is funny dgmw, but it sort of felt like most of the ppl didn’t actually want to. Help him. They want to appease him so he doesnt try to do anything to them, which. Objectively he probably wouldnt have succeeded.
Honestly i think he would have had some sort of breakthrough with Fit had BBH and Rorier (I believe it was them but correct me if im wrong) not interrupted them. Maybe. But also later in the stream he also wanted to simply appease charlie so who knows.
But regardless i think he should have had a little bit of murder. As a treat :)
Little bit of an edit teehee:
I just wanted to add that him not killing anyone def fits more in line w his character and him more so just mourning than anything else, i just like seeing characters kill ppl thats just. A me thing-

For context: with the BSD 10 year anniversary campaign happening in Japan, Fyodor was one of the characters selected to write a letter that'll accompany every BSD purchase (it's RNG though so you might receive someone else's letter instead of his if you try for it).
What gets me the most about this letter is how Fyodor truly and genuinely believed that he's all alone. We've seen him react differently to Nikolai than he does other people, but at the end of the day he still kept a rigid wall up between himself and Nikolai that never really allowed them to become closer no matter how much Nikolai tried.
It's understandable since Nikolai was planning on killing him (though that in itself is one of the biggest declarations of affection Nikolai could've ever made about the preciousness of Fyodor's existence in his own) but I don't think Fyodor understood just HOW important he was to Nikolai. Nikolai was very much supporting him and he was very much hoping that Fyodor would win against everyone (himself included) and that is so. SO painfully obvious when you take a look at Nikolai's side of confessions.
