oh my god, they are making a queen charlotte bridgerton show. and like... why? why can't we just have actual biopic. why can't we have a biopic that shows that this was a woman who didn't take sugar in her tea to support abolition, but was part of an institution that fundamentally profited from slavery? why can't we talk about the joyful young woman who was forced to obey her rigid husband's rules, have 15 children, and could be both kind and cruel. just make a fantasy show. just. make. a. fantasy. show. i am tired.

here’s a lil story I found about how elvis discovered his love for a certain something
from the book “Rhythm Oil” published in 1991
the original article was written in 1967 by the legend Stanley Booth and published in 1968 with the story about Natalie and Elvis cut by the publisher (lame for that)

waaait a minute... you love History 4: Close to you? you don't mind the brothers r*pe or?? or did you talk about it somewhere? need an explanation.
Anon, I talk about it everywhere because
I LOVE HISTORY 4: CLOSE TO YOU!
I love ALL of it! Every part.
❤❤❤ LOVE! ❤❤❤
I have told y'all twenty million times that I have trash taste, and my love for this show is a prime example because, for me, this hot mess express is delicious.
So yes, I don't mind the stepbrothers plot.
Which includes the sexual assault.
But I also watched the original Addicted and would've probably loved it if it hadn't been censored and prematurely ended due to China's laws.
Because I appreciate when shows own up to what is being depicted on the screen. HIStory 4 never shied away from the awfulness of the act. That was the entire point of Yong Jie doing it! And the show didn't try to spin it as a good thing.
Which lead us into Mu Ren's sexual assault and the main conflict of the show.
The show told us several times that Yong Jie was batshit crazy mostly when it came to Xing Si. The show did not try to make Yong Jie a good person. He fucked up and got slapped for it, several times. But Xing Si and Yong Jie's entire relationship was FUCKED UP! And the show told us that from the very beginning.
And that's why I don't mind it. We are introduced to Yong Jie as a stalker who attacked Mu Ren for being too close to Xing Si. Then Li Cheng beat him the fuck up for it.
We knew he was bad. The show never tried to tell us otherwise. And that's why I like the show.
It was an honest hot ass mess.
And it committed to the bit.

Sometimes I remember that Jamil is 17 years old and has had a job looking after Kalim basically 24/7 for years, his childhood spent making sure this other child stays alive and safe from assassination attemps while also managing their mundane things. And while I refuse to believe there weren't adults involved while Kalim lived in the Asim household, that is still absolutely an undue pressure to place onto a child - not to mention the whole child labor aspect of it.
And every time I dwell on it I'm just all
But also I want to punch every single adult involved who decided that this was a totally good and a normal idea and there's nothing wrong whatsoever with this arrangement.

I picked up a very TLC Felicity today and amongst her possessions was a homework folder.
Guess what her homework was?
American History!
Usually I try to work my home hospital magic but I think this girl needs a professional’s help.
Oh well, as I like to say, no doll left behind.

not going to lie, i thought the first few episodes were dumb as hell--it felt very much like a poor attempt at something succession-esque with whatever wildly decontextualized poe references they could find the slightest justifications for unconvincingly stapled over the top. now on episode 6 the show's grown on me a bit, maybe because i've stopped trying to care about the overarching story and just started taking each episode as an entry in an extremely kitschy horror Lite™ anthology series? and tbh even calling it horror Lite™ is being generous, because a lot of the usual flanaganverse scare tactics just aren't effective anymore this many series later

I ended up down a rabbit hole and digging for more information about the whole situation with Flowerfell and the more I dig, the more I realize that--wow, yeah, no, Sanei (I know how to spell their name right now!) absolutely was a piece of hot garbage who's bitter and controlling nature lead tot he demise of their own AU.
Maybe I'll make a proper post about it... Because tbh like. Do you know how annoyed and salty I am over the misinformation? Because I'm still annoyed and salty at the misinformation.

I think if a tumblr user says anything about history they should include Chicago style citations in the post. This is also true for other areas of study but I don't really know much about those so I only get filled with a blind rage when history posts are wrong. So that's what we need to fix first. For me.

I love Hit Bite Love. *long post*
In the most unironic way, I'm intrigued by this scorching hot mess. The subtitles are nonsense. The product placements are wild. The plots are questionable. However, episode zero proved that this crew did its homework and aced Kink 101, which is why I love it! It's cringe, but it's cringe with a heart.
We have the A+ plot with Burger and King (who were missing this week), but we also have Lil' Dom Daddy Masochist, Mateo, who is doing it the best I've seen. Mateo talked about puppy play, blade play, needle play, wax play, bondage, impact play, consent, and AFTERCARE! And he mentioned that play does not equal sex. And AND he gently explains to Shogun what is happening. And AND AND he isn't ashamed of his kinks.
They lost the key which is the introduction lesson in Kink 101 and resulted in them ending up in the ER where King's mom lectured them about being safe, but Mateo has got the spirit. Also, I loved that when Mateo hung up the phone and announced his mother was coming over, Shogun merely told him that he needed to clean his room.
I thought Mateo was going to regret picking Shogun as a playmate after Shogun compared Mateo's toys to a story about a queen and a princess.
And I think even Mateo thought twice about it.
But a product placement quota had to be met, so Mateo decided to continue with the play date and taught Shogun the importance of aftercare. He wasn't expecting Shogun to reciprocate. He simply wanted to value Shogun and care for him like a good Lil' Dom Dom.
Plus he reminds Shogun to be kind to himself. Ken was emotionally abusive to Shogun, and here we have Lil' Dom Daddy Masochist telling Shogun that he is special, and that Shogun should believe it as well.
Mateo bought every instrument Shogun wanted. He didn't get the teacher, but that wasn't the deal, so even though this started strange, it's equally beneficial, and the limits can always be negotiated. Shogun hears how other playmates are, which helps him see how compatible he is with Mateo. Shogun doesn't have to role play or clean as punishment. Mateo just tells him he is pretty and buys him things in exchange for him tying Mateo up and gagging him. That's a win in my book!
Also, Mateo has friends.
He is aware of what is going on (that comment about Saint already having an extension of himself around 24/7 = Hida), but listens to them rather than judges.
And he helped Hida remain the constant barrier between Saint and his girlfriend for at least six more years. What a trifling bitch Hida is. Don't change, babygirl.
I like the objectionable parts (Hida x Saint) of this show as much as I like the sweet ones (Burger x King).
But I really like this kinkster!
M is for Mateo Masochist

8 Shows To Get To Know Me
thanks for tagging me @stephmcx!! I'm always so surprised when people tag me in these things 🥹🥹
8 of my favorite shows are M*A*S*H, Twin Peaks, Dynasty, Seven Deadly Sins, Neon Genesis Evangelion, The Witcher, Hawaii Five-0, and Gorl World YouTube Drama
you can read my unhinged ramblings below the cut ♥️♥️
M*A*S*H: this show was my absolute favorite in high school, and it took me so long to watch because I had to rely on re-runs. If I was lucky, I would catch 2 episodes Monday-Thursday and 1-2 episodes on Saturday 12-2am. The series finale completely destroyed me to the point that I have a hard time finishing any TV show these days.
Twin Peaks: yet another show where the then series finale really stuck with me until we got The Return finale which also really stuck with me. Special Agent Dale Cooper remains one of my all-time favorite characters. His optimism and work ethic are inspirational.
Dynasty: y'all haven't lived until you watch an 80's soap opera. The drama and wardrobe are phenomenal. Some of the craziest shit I've ever seen was in Dynasty season 2 and 3. The plot points to get to this clip... incredible.
Seven Deadly Sins: this is the first anime I really got into, and it changed my life. Ban was my first husbando, and the rest is history. The series finally ended in two parts last year, and I kinda wish the second part never happened. It's sad that the series was dropped from the original animation studio, so later seasons do not have great animation. It's a fun ride! Just don't want the second half of the last season.
Neon Genesis Evangelion: a lot of my favorite shows have endings that just rocked my world, and boy howdy is Evangelion one of them. At the end of the anime, I was very hopeful, but I was devastated after finishing End of Evangelion. Two endings that are supposed to be the same but different. I am Shinji. Shinji is me. I first watched this show in 2019 and then rewatched in 2021, and it hit different in the midst of a pandemic and after the Texas 2021 Winter Storm. Excited to rewatch again this year!
The Witcher: while I prefer the video games now, the show is so good that I ended up binging the first season in 1 day with a friend of mine and then I bought Witcher 3 on my PS4 the next day. The rest is history. I love Geralt of Rivia so much. He is my special traumatized old man with a praise kink who has seen some shit boy.
Hawaii Five-0: this is not a show, it is a gay fever dream. I started watching this show while visiting my grandmother last year because she had crime show re-runs on constantly, and I always hoped that Hawaii Five-0 would come on. I am continually amazed by how close Steve and Danny are that I sometimes don't believe it's a real show. How did they get away with it all and still not make McDanno canon? They lived together, went to couple's counseling, shared the same bed, cuddled on the couch, DANNY TOLD STEVE TO PICK A BASE. gay gay homosexual gay.
Gorl World YouTube Drama: I fell into Gorl World about 2 years ago, boy howdy I can't stop watching. I don't enjoy reality television, but I sure as fuck am down to watch hours uponhours of coverage on everything that goes down with Foodie Beauty, ALR, Nikocado Avocado, and others. FB in particular bc her life is so buckwild that it can't be real. i miss the nashie era. long live Queen BBJ ♥️♥️

So much of what people call “feminism” is actually just women jealously competing with each other and women lashing out in insecurity at each other… and then trying to blame men for it.
You know, like women do anyway with or without feminism.
