Just a Moment
Tim always thought it would take him years with someone to be ready to marry them. But maybe he was just looking at the wrong person.
Tim x MC
@csmicletters here it is. Our baby.
Tim always figured it would take him years in a relationship to even consider marriage.
When he was with Jen, only a year after leaving the Villa, her father was asking where her ring was. As a joke he had said ‘Mate, I’m a DJ. I can’t afford no ring.’ Jen didn’t speak to him for days, and it still took them another six months to admit to each other that they didn’t think they would actually work out. Tim thanks whoever is out there every day that she approached him about it first.
When he started dating Cameron- it had been a surprise for both of them. It had been another six months since he and Jen split- nearly nine months after Cam had caught Levi out again and left him. She was still Tim’s best mate, and after his break up, because she was moving closer to him anyway for the hospital that took her on, they’d become flat mates. When her birthday came around they’d gone out. And the next morning they woke up in bed together.
Neither of them could remember if they’d actually got it on- and it should’ve been awkward as hell. But, as everything was around Cameron, it was easy. She confessed first, and Tim will always kick himself for making her, but she admitted he’d always been at the back of her mind, in the Villa and on the outside. He’d never been a true believer in love at first sight, but he remembered what he’d said to Miles on that first day. He fancied himself her future husband.
He still figured it would take him years to consider marriage for real.
But still, this was his best mate. Everything was easy with her. She got him in ways no one else did.
Their first date, he took her out for takeaway like they’d talked about with Jake and Rohan, and even though she had said it before he still tried to pay for her- but as Cam is about her principles, she wasn’t having that. She started a random game of tag in the park, tapping some bloke playing football with his mates, and it spread until nearly everyone there was running and trying to avoid being ‘it’. From children, to middle aged adults. Most of them were never sure who actually started the game by the end of it. He didn’t think he had laughed as much in years as he did that night- but that was a thought he had around her more often than not.
He still figured it would take him years.
They were together for six months when he realized maybe the years didn’t matter.
It was an average day. A regular Tuesday. Tim was bringing Cameron lunch like he did every day when he wasn’t working a gig- and then he got a call. Right in the middle of the hospital lobby, halfway to the lifts to get to the surgery floor.
“Yo, lay it on me.”
“Hello, is this Timothy Pritchard? Performer name-“
“Timmy Smalls- yeah, this is him. Can I ask who’s calling?” Tim really didn’t want to get his hopes up.
“My name is Sully Grandon, with Knuckle Recording Studios. We understand you’re a free agent right now, and we were looking to sign you, should you be interested.” The man kept talking, but Tim hardly heard him. He gave his contact email when prompted, so he’d be able to look over the contract before signing. “We’re looking forward to working with you. Have a good day.”
As soon as the line clicked dead, Tim had to stop himself from whooping and cheering, remembering where he was. He didn’t wait for the lift that day, choosing to run the two floors up to Cameron. The nurses saw him coming, already paging her to the station as they cooed, yet again, over how sweet he was to bring her lunch. She rounded that corner, hair falling loosely as she pulled off a surgery cap, and he couldn’t contain it any longer, “Cam, love, you are not going to believe the call I just got!” She pulled him into the break room, eyes expectant as he recounted all he could about the conversation.
She stared at him with a wide grin, “You’re havin’ me on, ya knob. Are you for real?”
“Real as it gets, baby!”
“Oh my days, Tim!” She charged back out into the hallway, “My baby got a record deal!” Cam shouted at the nurses, who broke into a round of applause, having been subjecting to his rapping more than they could count. She looked at him, green eyes bright and shining with excitement and pride, “We’re celebrating tonight.”
And celebrate they did. She took him to the same takeaway place he took her on their first date. Kept telling him she had a secret surprise he’d really enjoy.
He was delightfully surprised when the surprise turned out to be an old school arcade.
After several rounds of skee ball that more often than not ended with them chasing the balls down under tables and behind machines, and a lot of playful insults and kisses in between, they took their measly number of tickets up to the prize counter.
Tim wasn’t sure what made the idea so alluring to him, but he took a ring pop from the prizes and dropped to his knee in front of her, “Cameron Malloy.” She looked at him with a quizzical smile, but made no move to stop him, “Cam, baby, love. You’ve been my best friend since the day we met. You believed in me when no one else did. I can’t wait to have you with me when I go to the top, and I can’t wait to see the amazing things you do. You know I’ve never been the guy people look to for romantic gestures and sweet speeches. But will you take this tasty ring and let me fancy you for the rest of our lives?”
She giggled, light and airy, “You thought you were getting out of this, ya knobhead? You’re stuck with me.” He jumped to his feet, kissing her. “Only you would jokingly propose with a ring pop. But…” she gave him that smile that always dialed his heart up to eleven, nothing but honesty in her eyes, “Just know that when you do it for real, my answer will be the same.”
And it was that moment that Tim knew. Years never mattered. He’d told himself he needed years because it never felt right before. But with Cam? With her it never felt wrong. So his answer was simple. “Then make this one real. I’ll be making proper money now, I’ll get you the best ring I can find. I’ll start looking tomorrow.”
She gave him a sweet kiss on the cheek before grinning mischievously at something over his shoulder, “Who needs something fancy?” She replied, hopping over to a quarter machine and twisting the coin around. She popped open the egg, slipping the ugly plastic band around her finger. “Good thing I have such small hands.”
Tim couldn’t help but laugh, pressing kisses all over her face as the two of them headed home.
That ring only left her finger when she was in the surgical suite. Any other time, she proudly adorned it to her attire like it was the greatest jewel.
A few months later, as the newly ordained Jake asked them to present their rings, Talia handed it to Cam as Rohan handed it to Tim. But Tim surprised her by dropping to one knee right there at the altar, “I told ya I’d get ya a better one, love.” The ring was white gold with intricate gems, none of them diamonds because the two of them were anything but ordinary. “I gotta ask ya again. Cam, will you let me fancy you for the rest of our lives?”
She grinned cheekily at him, as they acted like they weren’t crying more than everyone else in the room, “I told you, ya knobhead. You’re stuck with me.” He pulled the plastic ring off, all it’s fake paint had chipped away but he still stowed it into his pocket. He’d be keeping that forever.
In the end, it did take him years. Years to finally admit he loved her. But to take that love and turn it into forever? It only took a few moments.

Pairing: Alive! Luke Patterson x Fem Reader
Summary: Luke and Y/N have many problems and commitments in their lives and instead of solving them they decide to blame the other. Eventually, the fights end their relationship. Luke travels with Sunset Curve during the summer and when he returns he has a pretty clear idea in his head. He wants his girl back.
But it's not as easy as it sounds when the competition had 3 months to score points with the cheerleader in his absence.
Tumblr media
Three months. Luke has gone three months without seeing Y/N. They have been inseparable since they met when they were 12 years old, never spending more than days without seeing each other. But the moment they broke up Luke knew he had to get out of the freaking town because if he couldn't distance himself he was going to end up the very next day at his ex-girlfriend's house begging her to accept him back. And the truth is that both needed to breathe and rethink what each one is looking for in their future.
Because although he’s head over heels in love with her, the truth is that both were in a moment of their lives in which they couldn’t and specially wanted to adapt to what the other needed. They had a lot of different responsabilities and things to do, it was just hard sometimes to add more to the list.
Which meant that she missed several of his concerts, that he was late for her birthday party, that there was no time for dates, that they didn’t feel supported. Many arguments trying to fix things that never came to anything because neither of them really wanted to commit. None willing to give in.
And then the painful but friendly breakup in early summer happened.
Bobby has a truck and the boys decided that doing a roadtrip during the summer performing wherever they could to earn enough to keep traveling was a brilliant idea to distract him and make the band known, and he agreed without looking back.
Things turned out much better than any of the four expected and they even had the luxury of traveling one more week, so they have a week of homework to catch up on. Will his relationship have ended on good enough terms to ask Y/N? Homework is not that big of a deal for him but it usually takes him a little longer to miss more than 15 assignments.
As soon as Luke opens the front door, his eyes fall straight on her. She is on her back trying to hang up some posters, but he would recognize that body wherever, from whatever angle.
His eyes immediately scan her wrist, which doesn't have any of the couple matching black-and-white bracelets they both used to wear all the time.
The first of many reminders Luke would get that day about his breakup with the cheerleader.
Y/N stands on her tiptoes trying to reach the height required for the poster, but no matter how hard she tries, she can't reach it. She’s just going to give up and ask for help when she feels some strong and determined hands lift her without any sign of trouble or doubt.
She doensn’t need to turn her head or listen to his voice, the strong grip on each side of her hips and his intoxicating perfume are more than enough to confirm who is lifting her in the air.
Luke is not playing fair. Y/N hears his husky and seductive voice as his lips lightly brush her ear. “I know you love my hands on you, but do you plan to put up the poster at some point?”
The cheerleader is shocked for a few seconds, until murmurs around them remind her that they are not alone. She puts the poster as fast as she can and instructs her ex-boyfriend to take her down.
Reluctantly she turns around and for the first time in quite a few weeks her eyes meet her favorite ones, which at least for the moment, are deep green.
"You can't do that, Lucas. We broke up."
He smirks. She only calls him like that when she's trying really hard to scold him even though it's not what she actually wants. She tries to look more determined and tough, but he can see through it all.
He decides to rest one of his arms on the wall, leaning just enough so that their foreheads are almost touching, and then smiles at her. One of those smiles that she used to classify as the most tender and beautiful sight in the world and that used to receive a light sweet kiss in return.
But this time, instead of a kiss, her gaze tells him that he is crossing the limit and that it’s better to stop. Neither has to say anything, she doesn't need to throw his arm out of the way or yell at him to move.
The two of them know each other better than anyone, and when Luke sees that expression, her wrinkled nose, her eyes lit with annoyance, her crooked mouth, he knows it's time to retreat.
“I’m sorry ba-” His gaze automatically saddens as he remembers that he can no longer call her that. He can see that her eyes also look a little sadder and duller after imagining what the guitarist was going to say. “I’m sorry Y/N. I just missed you.”
“Luke, look at this man. I've been here for 10 minutes and already 14 girls gave me their numbers to pass them to you! I guess word got around that you're single again.”
Alex and Reggie go blank when they are close enough to see their beautiful friend, since Luke was covering her from their sight. The guitarist turns to tap Reggie on the shoulder, and Alex decides to hug her to ease the tension in the air. Her hands are shaking, and Alex is not sure if from sadness or jealousy, but he decides not to say anything and keep hugging her, trying to make her feel supported.
“We missed you so much, we are not Sunset Curve without you.” Alex confesses loud enough for the other two members present to listen and nod their heads.
“I missed you too, boys. My summer was too peaceful and quiet without my favorite band.” The drummer lets go of her and Reggie replaces him by hugging her tightly, moving his arms behind her back silently asking Luke what to do with all the papers in his hands. The annoyed guitarist takes them and throws them away without thinking twice. Reg whispers "rude" and his friend rolls his eyes at him.
Reggie lets go and the four of them stare each other for a few seconds, none knowing what to say or do.
"Hello, sorry but I came to escort this beauty to her next class."
The fifth voice belongs to Cameron Green, who has just appeared in front of them and offers the girl his arm to intertwine with hers.
The perfect captain of the football team. Luke has known for years that the guy has some feelings for his girl, but he never had to worry because he knows her, she would never do anything that would put his trust at risk. But now, things are different.
She takes a step forward to accept the gesture and turns to see the boys one last time.
"I guess I'll see you on music class." She offers an apologetic smile, Alex smiles back to let her know it’s okay.
"But what about lunch break?" Reggie asks, after all, the five have been sitting together for years, they didn’t even separate when Y/N entered the cheer squad.
"I promised to sit down with Cam, sorry guys. But see you later!"
Y/N turns to look at Luke for a few seconds, as if waiting for him to stop her. But never happened.
So both her and Cameron walk until the band can’t see them in the sea of students. Reggie and Alex turn to see their friend, who has his hands wrapped in fists and looks totally crimson, his face irradiates frustration as he clenches his teeth.
“I prOmiseD tO SiT DoWN WitH CaM, fucking hell I’m out of here.”
“You are not going anywhere, man! It’s time for an intervention.” Reggie takes his friends by the arm and leads them to the janitor's closet where he pushes them and closes the door.
“The janitor's closet, really?” Alex asks and Reggie smiles proudly. “..Okay.”
"This is stupid, can we get out of here now?" They both return their attention to Luke, his face radiating despair.
"No. You can't keep prolonging this anymore. What did you think? That no one was going to try to date the most popular girl in school? Are you really so self-centered as to believe that no one would dare just because you are the ex boyfriend? Local rockstar or not, she’s a gem."
“Of course not, I just went into denial, I guess. All I know is that I miss her. I missed her every day this endless summer. I know the experience was amazing, but every night while I was singing the only thing I could think about is how much I wanted to see her beautiful dorky face in the small audience. The way she blushes when I'm singing straight to her direction and I send her a wink. The passion with which she sings each of the songs that she has been listening to over and over for years. How proud she looks of us as we give that final bow.
And it’s stupid, you know? Because somehow, I forced myself to think that having a girlfriend was depriving me of the opportunity to live experiences like that, to live my dream the fullest.
And what I ended up discovering when I did them is that my dream is simply never going to be fulfilled without her. As Alex said, she is as much part of Sunset Curve as any of us. And that now she has other interests or priorities doesn’t diminish how much she loves us and how much we love her, our dreams don't have to collide. And I'm a real idiot who took 3 months to realize it while I'm sure that fake dude was doing his fight to win her over.”
“FINALLY!” They both scream while hugging their brother. “Dude, I’m pretty sure she’s still in love with you, just act fast. You both have to stop being so stubborn and learn to give in for each other's sake from time to time. You cannot ask the other what you do not give.” Alex advises.
“I’ll win my girl back.” Luke smiles, hoping that if he says it with enough conviction it will come true.
The boys decide to go back to classes, by the time they are about to reach the lockers for gym, the other guys are already there and a lively conversation is heard.
“Man, it's not like I've been in love with her for years. I don't even know her. But stealing Luke Patterson’s girlfriend who is casually the most popular girl in school, is simply the step that makes you a legend in this small town. Not to mention that perfect body, what I would do to her if I had the chance."
No one has noticed the Sunset Curve members are present, and the second they hear him Reggie and Alex cover Luke's mouth and drag him out of there.
“I’m going to kill him! And before you say it, I don't care if it's the stupid football captain! If his monkeys hit me I have the satisfaction that I already gave him a black eye and I took out 3 teeth from him. No one is going to play or talk about her like that!"
To say that he is angry is an understatement. He is shaking with fury, moving in the small hall from one side to the other trying to calm the urge to slam his fist against the wall, because if he is going to slam it somewhere it will be in that idiot's face.
“You have to control yourself and be smart for once! he is the golden boy of the school, no matter how popular you are, your reputation as a bad boy is not going to win against his. Maybe not even with Y/N, she might think you're just fired up to see them together."
As much as it hurts to admit it, Alex is right. That clown has convinced everyone in the school with the idea that he doesn’t break a plate. While the guitarist is famous for skipping classes and playing clubs until dawn.
“And what am I supposed to do? I hope you don't suggest that I just sit around doing nothing."
Reggie takes two steps back in case Alex's suggestion is in fact Luke to do nothing. After all, he has to protect that adorable face.
“I’m not telling you to do nothing, I’m asking you to pay attention to what’s really important. Don't focus on him, focus on her."
He’s not going to say it aloud, but Alex is right, again. She should always be his main focus.
After his friends manage to convince him to take the peaceful route, Luke spends the rest of the day searching for the right words to say, but it’s difficult to find inspiration when every time he turns the love of his life is next to a jerk who is only trying to deceive her.
Not to mention lunch break, every time that idiot tried to touch her or get too close, the guitarist felt his blood boil. The only thing that kept him sane is that she politely pushed him away each and every time.
Reggie managed to convince her to come to the studio with them after her cheer training, just like they used to do last school year. The boys waited for her each time and then she accompanied them to their band rehearsals. Or at least they did before both she and Luke started arguing for not wanting to put in that extra effort.
Alex and Reggie watched as the relationship began to decline and the fights began to escalate. And when the breakup became official, they knew they had to keep the exes away from each other. The ex couple had never been apart and it was important for them to make their friends realized how much they want and love each other's presence in their lives. How lucky they are to have such a supportive partner at their side.
They never said anything to Luke but they could see how sad and depressed the guitarist looked without her. As if that spark in him was missing.
All day they were observing their girly who looked just as miserable, that special aura full of dull energy.
Alex had a theory that he explained to Reggie. When a relationship finishes going through that time where it feels new and recent, when you get used to the other as a couple, sometimes it is easy to take things for granted and not want to continue trying or giving the extra.
Sometimes you get lost in that lapse, and finding a balance is not easy. But when you love someone as much as they love each other, well, it’s easy to guess they’ll find the way.
So while Alex distracted Luke, Reggie ran to convince his girl friend to join them, which wasn't easy considering she already had plans with the football player. At that moment the bassist was grateful Luke was not around to hear that.
Once they are together, things will settle down. They have both suffered enough to know that without a doubt everything they have to do for the other is worth it. It’s time for them to stop being stubborn because Reg and Alex are not going to bear being in the middle for long. Those two can be insufferable sometimes.
So, that's how Sunset Curve ended in the stands. Watching her friend as the squad lifted her to the top of the pyramid.
Luke can't help but see her with loving eyes. He feels so proud of her, and that’s when he realizes he can’t remember the last time he actually told her, and that hurts him. She should hear those words every day, and if he is lucky enough for her to accept him back, that will be one of the first things that will change.
He's so focused on watching her, that he doesn't realize the football team is starting a fight just yards away until Reggie hits him on the shoulder.
Cameron pushes one of his teammates straight into the pyramid, which begins to disarm before the guitarist's eyes.
Some of her team manage the impact not be too strong, but she still stays motionless on the ground for a few seconds because of the shock.
Cameron Green kneels in front of her, Luke tries desperately to pass but two big guys get behind their captain to block him.
“Get the fuck out of my way!” The desperation in his voice indicates that he will do whatever it takes to get to her.
“Leave her alone already, Patterson!”
Reggie and Alex catch up with him and mentally prepare for what lies ahead, when they hear Y/N's weak voice.
"No! Luke, please. I need Luke."
The guitarist takes advantage of everyone's momentary shock after hearing her voice and manages to get to her side.
“I- I- I’m here, baby. I’m here, don’t worry. Everything will be fine.” Luke lightly caresses her cheek while examining her body, it seems that it was more the scare than anything else.
“I know.” She smiles at the contact of Luke’s hand in her skin.
“Yeah?” He asks almost in a whisper, he is hypnotized watching her. Trying with all his might not to kiss her.
“Yes, you are here. As long as we are together everything will be fine.”
“Is this your subtle way to tie me up again?” Luke teases while helping her sit up. The whole crowd watches them around the field. Cameron looking angry just a few yards away.
She laughs. A wholesome laugh, full of happiness. “Oh honey, we all know you never stopped being mine."
If there is something that turns him on, is his Y/N’s confidence. (And see her in nothing but his t-shirts but that’s not the point.)
“Right back atcha, baby.” He brushes his lips against hers while making that seducting face that she can hardly ever resist, but this time she surprises him by taking him from behind the neck and crashing her lips on his.
The people around them begin to applaud the show, and without interrupting the passionate kiss Luke puts his arms around her back and legs to lift her up and carry her away.
Reggie and Alex do a fist bump and then one looks for Y/N's things and the other for Luke's and follows them from behind.
"They endured a whole school day, wow."
"If we hadn't stolen Luke from her over summer they would have been 2 hours apart and it would have been the most embarrassing separation of all time."
"The two of them were going through a lot and they didn't know how to cope at the time, but now that they are both better, I’m very happy they’re back together, they are soulmates."
“They sure are, Reg. Did you see Cameron's face when Luke stuck his tongue down Y/N's throat? PRICELESS.”

A Legacy Left Behind - Chapter - 5 - The Gemmond Incident
Part 5 - Final
Stargate Command, Cheyenne Mountain - Colorado
As promised, Lieutenant Colonel Cameron Mitchell had shown up with SG-1, which had included himself, Teal'c, Vala Mal Doran, and Dr. Daniel Jackson. Sam Carter had not been available since she had been called away to the Daedalus for an urgent matter. Dr. Rodney McKay and Dr. Radek Zelenka had both shown up in her place to specifically study the two downed crafts and find a solution to free the trapped Gemmondians. SG-3, SG-8, and SG-9 had accompanied the Colonel in order to disperse around the city and help with the clean-up and whatever other tasks the citizens were in need of help with. Dr. Sandy Van Denson and Dr. Ian Carmichael along with three other medical staff had also shown up, bringing along the promised medical assistance for the traumatized Gemmondians.
Sheppard and the team had been upgraded to local celebrity levels and almost all of the people there in the city had wanted to catch a glimpse of the Tau'ri who had managed to successfully wipe out the Wraith. The locals had insisted on the feast they had somehow managed to prepare despite everything and made the SG-11 the guests of honor. The team had stayed for a few minutes, enjoyed a few local cuisines, and taken their leave in quiet relief when Mitchell and the other teams had finally shown up to take over.
..........
"Fucking hell! Hearing about all this crap in the briefing and looking at nasty photos is one thing. But this, man - this is something else." Danny's voice was equal parts awe, fear, and incredulity.
"So, this telepathic attack basically had a domino effect on these creatures. Powerful as they are when they are mentally connected to each other, it can also be a major weakness. Too bad only the ATA gene carriers have this ability," Adam Noshimuri sounded wistful. He was fascinated by the footage they were all now going through of the day's operation.
SEALs always went on ops with recording apparatus as a part of their standard kit. SG-11 had permission to keep this particular Special-Operator-trait for their operations, in keeping with the Navy standards, and it came in handy. They could always study the ops footage later to get more information and also it could be used to educate other teams whenever they went through something like this. Only a few of the team had body cams that day since they had been going to a party. But they had managed to team up to maximize the coverage and now they had mostly complete footage of the entire operation.
They had all gone for their post-Gate-Hop medical checkups once they had returned to the mountain. As promised, Colonel Mitchell had retrieved the rest of the SG-11 from the village near the jungle and they had returned to the mountain about 20 minutes later. They all had reunited in the infirmary during their medical checkups. Sheppard, Lorne, and Danny had garnered extra attention - the first two because of their dealings with the Wraith and Danny for getting partially stunned. But they had all been cleared without needing to spend the day in the infirmary once the doctors had been satisfied. They had all had early dinners in the mess hall and the two pilots had retired to the quarters since they had both been still suffering from headaches. The rest of the team had gathered in one of the smaller recreational rooms to go through the footage and get their AARs (After Action Reports) done for the debriefing the next day. They had already gone through the cam feeds from Steve, Bates, and Vega and now knew what each team had faced. They had exchanged praises, criticisms, and good-natured ribbing while watching different areas of footage with fascination. Now they were all at the part from the cam Lorne had been wearing.
"Yeah, that's the thing. These guys are rare enough as it is. When the Wraith find out about this, they’re going to start hunting them. The gene carriers are a real threat to Wraith. All they have to do is ask the Goa'uld to take care of the gene carriers while they deal with the non-gene carriers. We’re going to have to try and keep this stuff under wraps as long as we can," said Vega, after they had all finished watching the feed.
"Keep what under wraps?" asked Sheppard at the end of a huge yawn. He was leaning against the door of the rec room and was wearing a black t-shirt, loose sweats, and a pair of slippers. He still looked half asleep and Steve wondered what had made the man wake up and come looking for them.
"Ah, sleeping beauty, come take a seat. We were just talking about your horror show," said Danny, with his usual lack of tact.
They were using the TV screen in the room to watch the feeds and a few laptops and PDAs were scattered on the stool in front of them. Steve, Adam, and Kono were sitting on the long couch, Danny, Bates, and Vega had claimed sofas and Cadman was settled between Higgins' stretched-out legs on the floor. Sheppard pushed off from the door frame and walked into the room eyeing the seating arrangement. Then he huffed and went to settle on Steve's lap, who let out a quiet laugh and moved to accommodate the burden. John wriggled and shifted until he was sitting comfortably, resting sideways on Steve's chest with his head on Steve's shoulder, and let his long legs dangle off the armrest of their side of the couch. Steve wrapped his arms around the sleep-warmed body on his lap and closed his eyes. Then John looked at Danny expectantly. Danny keyed a few commands on the laptop closest to him and started the feed from Lorne's cam for John to have a look.
Steve felt him tensing up the moment John saw himself on the screen. It occurred to Steve then, that this was the first time John had seen himself going through the 'online experience.' The other time he had been alone and when he was discovered, he was already back to normal. Steve rubbed his back, offering silent comfort.
"Wow! That's... um... disturbing. My eyes - they look creepy - I look creepy..." said John. He was thoroughly disturbed at witnessing his physical transformation.
"I don't know brah, I was once involved in a raid at a meth factory. I've seen creepier-looking dudes running around, believe me," said Kono matter-of-factly from the middle of the sofa.
"And I know for a fact that you are a complete lunatic. One, because I've seen you fly and have had the misfortune to fly with you several times. Two, you are dating the other lunatic you are sitting on. So this little drama is nothing. I wasn't even that surprised," said Danny, his hand slicing away at the space in front of him, emphasizing his point. John and Steve both sent identical glares at Danny who just upped the wattage of his shit-eating grin.
John could clearly see the easy acceptance from his team of his rather weird ability, and That made it much easier for him to accept the fact himself. (He did remember how Lorne had looked during the change. Okay - he had looked like he was high on something - but not a full-on-mutant like John, though.)
"So the point we were discussing was, to keep this bit of intel from falling into the claws of the Wraith because that would lead to those fuckers declaring open-season on gene-carriers," said Bates, with a grimace. The others nodded in response.
"Dr. Carson is working on artificial gene therapy. He says his serum would have a 75% chance at activating junk DNA in a non-gene carrier to become ATA positive. I actually helped him to find some information he needed from the Alteran archives back in Antarctica. The way things are going, we are going to need him to deliver soon, so that we'll have enough people to deal with these assholes," said John thoughtfully, his mind drifting back to discussions he had with the Scottish doctor during his visits to the Defense Outpost in Antarctica.
"Yeah, and let's not forget the Snake-Heads. At least we have some sort of warning system against the Wraith. But the Goa'uld - do we even have a way of identifying them in advance?” The question was from Steve. he still had his eyes closed, enjoying the proximity to John.
"There are some medical scans that can spot them. Other than that, the Jaffa and some of the previous hosts, like Vala and Carter can sense them. Of course, the Tok'ra would know. But that's about it I think," said Cadman, remembering the facts from Daniel Jackson's lectures.
"Yeah, they've been quiet enough on earth for what, closer to two months now? But busy stirring trouble in other worlds? Whatever they are planning, we are not going to like it much when it happens. I really can do without these times of suspense, you know?" said Vega.
"I know it's tempting fate, but I do agree. By the way, did you guys hear? The word is, that the big boss is going to show up tomorrow. Probably for our briefing. He usually shows up when things are really going to get sent up the creek without paddles," informed Cadman conspiratorially.
"What big boss?" asked Sheppard at the same time Steve asked, "Where do you even hear this stuff from anyway, hah?"
"Oh, I've got my sources, Mr. Major, Mr. Lieutenant Commander," said Cadman, grinning from ear to ear.
"Awesome. Better get our paperwork and shit together then, yeah?" suggested Bates and grabbed the PDA closest to him.
Sheppard slid off the comfortable lap he was sitting on and settled on the floor between the Commander’s legs, then grabbed two PDAs - one for himself and one for Steve. They all then got busy with their respective reports on the day's events.
..........
Early next morning, Sheppard was sitting inside the Jumper helping the Air Force Lt. Colonel Samantha Carter to extract the data pertaining to their jaunt in Gemmond. He was transferring the flight records, blueprints of the Darts and Wraith Dart Carrier, all details about hull compositions, weapons, and other data, the scans and the footage the Jumper had managed to capture to Carter's PDA. When the data transfer finished, Samantha Carter went away, letting Sheppard know that they'd be called in for the debrief later on.
He knew that Kono and Steve had also prepared a comprehensible version from all the cam feeds they had on themselves during the mission as well. They had all submitted their detailed AARs to the SGC server already and were now waiting to be called to the briefing room for a Q&A session with the General and whoever else was present.
The summons came via Sergeant Harriman who came to fetch the SG-11 team leaders, Sheppard and McGarrett, into the main Briefing Room just after breakfast.
Briefing Room, SGC, Cheyenne Mountain - Colorado
Entering the Briefing Room, Sheppard experienced a feeling of déjà vu, since the atmosphere held the same intensity as his first briefing at the same place, several weeks ago.
This time there were more participants. Even in his BDUs, the bald Major General had an imposing presence. Brigadier General Jack O'Neill was sitting to his right and Lt. Colonel Cameron Mitchell was to his left. Next to O'Neill were Dr. Daniel Jackson and Lt. Colonel Samantha Carter with Teal'c sitting beside Mitchell. Dr. Rodney McKay was also present, busily typing on the laptop in front of him while munching on what looked like a blueberry muffin. Dr. Zelenka was sitting next to him trying hard to look like he had absolutely no association with McKay. SG-11 leaders had the seats on the opposite side of the big conference table, facing everyone, completing the assembly. There were two projector screens, on opposite sides, so no one had to twist their necks to see the feeds or any other data that was projected onto the screens. They also had their own PDAs or laptops with them, so they had ready access to anything they needed at any moment.
"General, you wanted to meet the trouble magnets. Well, here they are. The team leaders of SG-11." General O'Neill made an unorthodox introduction as they both entered the room and gathered in front of the conference table.
"You shouldn't complain much O'Neill, when you were the one who was bugging me for a group of special operators in your ranks. Now you've got some, and if they’re bringing extra workload for you, well, you've got no one else to blame," said General Hammond pleasantly.
"You know, it was more like Marshall's wish, come to think of it," O'Neill informed General Hammond. Colonel Marshall Sumner who was at the Earth Alpha site on an inspection, was not there to defend himself.
General Hammond shook his head in amusement, already much used to General O'Neill's eccentric ways, and turned to address SG-11." Anyway, gentlemen, it's a pleasure to finally meet you two. I have seen your personal files and the files of everyone in your team, of course, but I always like to meet trouble magnets in person, whenever I can manage. Please sit and make yourselves comfortable. We’re going to be here for a while," he informed the Major and the Lt. Commander.
"Major Sheppard, if you can please give a brief report of what took place in Gemmond?" he looked to Sheppard once they were seated.
Sheppard recounted the mission as ordered. He started from the point where they had to force the connection to Gemmond via the Jumper's DHD and detailed their entry to the hot zone. Then he briefly described the recon they conducted and the subsequent entry to the Wraith Carrier. Then he recounted the rescue operations and the entanglement with Wraith. He then summarized blowing up the ship, how they split up to accompany the Gemmondians and how the rest of them returned to the gate to report back to SGC, followed by the handover to Lt. Colonel Mitchell who showed up to take over the clean up. Once he finished, General Hammond turned to Mitchell.
"Lt. Colonel Mitchell, will you tell us what happened next?"
"Yes Sir. I went to Gemmond with SG-1, SG-3, SG-8, and SG-9. SG-3 was sent with the medical staff to the city to provide medical help and SG-8 went with them to help with the clean-up. I dropped off the Doctors McKay and Zelenka at the Dart crash sites along with Teal'c and SG-9 and took the Jumper to orbit to run a scan in near space. There were no other Wraith Spaceships in the vicinity. Then I returned to the city and stayed there to coordinate with the city council. I also spoke to some of those travelers who were taking refuge in Gemmond. They were from Holdus, Aegis, some even from Charos. They all had similar stories about this 'Culling', as they called it. It seems that this started about two weeks ago and there seem to be few other worlds targeted as well. So far they've been avoiding the technologically advanced planets though," continued Mitchell. "Then I took a trip to the village near the jungle where the rescued Gemmondians gathered with a couple of medical staff. They were all okay and being taken care of by the Nasyans. We spent the whole day in the city and the clean-up was rather quick, seeing as SG-11 got there pretty quickly and the Wraith didn't have much time for a larger attack. Then I collected the Doctors from where they were camping near crash sites and returned to the mountain for the debrief."
The General then turned his attention towards the two scientists;
"So Dr. McKay, Dr. Zelenka - any luck extracting the people stuck in those Darts?" he asked.
"Hmm, we've scanned those two Wraith Darts and found a way to connect with their interfaces. Basically, we’ve gone over the controls that dematerialize people, store their information, and then rematerialize them again when commanded to. It's a very complex process and requires a lot of power. Now, the Dart I scanned has five life signs and Radek's one has eight life signs. But according to the power readings we've got, those darts don't have enough power to rematerialize people on their own. But we can hook up a Naquadah generator into each of them and give a bit of extra oomph to restart the controls and activate the beam. Sort of like jump-starting a car battery." Rodney looked quite proud at having managed a properly dumbed-down report for the academically challenged.
"Ano, Rodney, we discussed this. There is a chance that those generators might not be the best way to restart those controls. You mustn't forget the biological components in those Darts - they are not like normal batteries that we can jump-start." Dr. Radek Zelenka pushed his spectacles further up his nose and reminded Rodney.
"I know, but if we regulate the levels and write a subroutine to abort if it gets over the power levels we need, it'd be fine." Rodney turned to face the Czech scientist and gestured with his muffin.
"A subroutine that we need to translate to match the coding on the interface. Yes, yes! It might work. But then we need..." Zelenka had already started typing something fast and McKay was leaning over to watch his screen.
"Ah, wait, there," he interrupted and the Czech said something unintelligible in his own language, still typing away. Now Rodney had abandoned his muffin and was also busy on his PDA while talking to Zelenka about code.
The two scientists had forgotten about the rest of the assembly and were completely immersed in their planning, typing, and conversing in increasingly complex scientific jargon. General Hammond let it continue for a while and then decided to interrupt when the scientists showed no signs of returning to the briefing. Out of all of them, only Carter seemed to be able to follow the dialog between them with an amused look on her face.
"As riveting as it is to be listening to you two gentlemen, can you please tell us whether this venture is possible or not? We really don't need to know the exact process," Hammond asked them both with great patience.
"Yes, General. We can do this. Maybe by tomorrow evening, we should be done. We will need a Naquadah generator though," said McKay, without looking up or without stopping his typing.
"Jack, can you accommodate that?" asked the Major General.
"Yeah, I'm sure we have one or two of those lying around here, somewhere," General Jack O'Neil replied, looking pointedly at Sergeant Harriman who confirmed with a firm nod.
"Well, then," started General Hammond, but was interrupted by Dr. Zelenka. "Can we be excused? We need to clean this up and get a proper program before we need to return to the planet."
"Yes, please. You may both take your leaves, doctors." A rather relieved General excused the pair without further delay. They both got up with their PDAs and left the room, bickering about the code and power levels.
"Commander, I was informed you have the footage of the entire operation?" he then inquired of McGarrett, who confirmed. "Now, Jack, I think this is something we should get all our Gate teams to start practicing. There is always one team or another who runs into something unexpected whenever they conduct Gate operations." He turned to the General.
"Yeah, I agree. But there is a concern, you know? What with the IOA and all their crap about respecting the privacy of the natives and such. SG-11 has a bit of leeway on this because they are a joint ops team and we had agreed to keep up their SEAL standards. So all their Gate missions go under Special-Operations per that agreement with the Navy. I think it's about time we took a long hard look at those pesky civilian regulations, especially since it's starting to look like trouble's brewing," said Jack O'Neill, for once looking completely serious.
"Hmm, I have a meeting with the IOA in a few days. I'll speak to the President as well before I meet with them. The chances are that we are going to have to raise the threat levels and will have to change some protocols accordingly, very soon," replied the General. He was already thinking about reaching out to the other races with advanced technologies and capabilities the earth had connections with; about this latest threat and ways to defend against it.
He then turned to Samantha Carter. "Carter, I'd like to review that footage now please."
Lt. Colonel Carter projected the video onto the screens on either side while Harriman dimmed the lights in the conference room. For the next 90 minutes or so, the entire conference room was quiet except for the sounds coming from the footage of the mission.
General O'Neill took it upon himself to break the thick silence that had descended in the Briefing Room at the end of the mission footage. "You know, I remember I sent SG-6 last year to Gemmond for the harvest celebrations. They brought back cake - really nice cake - and even nicer wine," he said wistfully, and then turned to where Sergeant Harriman was seated. "Walter, remind me next year when the time comes around, yeah?"
"Of course, General," the Sergeant replied with an equally serious air.
"That was an excellent bit of soldiering. My compliments to your team. Well done." General Hammond said. He was extremely impressed with the way the team handled the situation. He had harbored some concerns about how well they could mesh a SEAL team with an SGC team and this incident proved that it could be done quite seamlessly. He could see that each and every member brought a unique and impressive skill set to the team.
"Jack, I need a copy of this footage and all other data collected in a summarized report so I can present this to the president and the IOA. I might call an extra-planetary meeting to discuss this too. So be ready. And keep me posted if you get news from other planets on any encounters like this," He informed O'Neill. "So far, is there anything on the surveillance on those satellites and the Goa'uld activity?" he inquired.
"Nothing, but I believe this explains why they are waiting for the Wraith to stock up on supplies before starting whatever they are planning on. I have a feeling this might include an armada or two of alien fleets by the way things are going," said Jack O'Neill thoughtfully.
"The work on Prometheus is nearly completed. She will undergo her space trials in the next month, bringing our fleet to six. We shall see if we can persuade our allies to contribute as well. This information might just be what we need to apply that persuasion," General Hammond reflected. "All right people, thank you for your time. I will be in touch." He stood up, bringing the briefing to an end.
With that, everyone stood up as General George Hammond took his leave.
..........
It had been two days since the meeting with Major General George Hammond and SG-11 had just returned from a training session at the Alpha site, off-world. They had completed the medical checkups, cleaned themselves up, and were seated around a long table enjoying their dinner in the mess hall when Steve's phone started ringing.
The call came from a landline bearing a Hawaiian prefix. "Is this Mr. Steven McGarrett?" The voice was female. Steve winced at the 'Mr.' involuntarily, not used to being addressed as such.
"Yes, that's me. Who is this?" he asked.
"Sir, my name is Diana Curtis and I'm calling from Honolulu General Hospital. You’re listed as the next of kin for Captain John McGarrett. He was admitted to the hospital yesterday when he suffered a heart attack. Sir, his condition is stable for now. But we'd like you to be here and visit him if it is at all possible?” The professional no-nonsense voice delivered the news in such a calm manner, it took Steve a few seconds to register what the woman was saying and the seriousness of the situation.
"WHAT?" he barked into the phone, when he had recovered from the shock. The team sitting around him all stopped what they were doing and stared at Steve.
"Mr. McGarrett, please calm down. Your father's condition is stable for the moment. He was brought to the hospital on time. Are you able to make it here safely as soon as possible? Is there anyone who could bring you here?" The hospital admin on the line tried to placate the very agitated SEAL.
"Uh? Yes, yes. I'm not in Hawaii at the moment. But yes, I'll be there as soon as I can. Thank you for calling and letting me know," Steve collected himself enough to reply. His mind was still reeling at the shocking news he had just received. He had called his old man only two days ago and he had sounded fine on the phone - even happier at the fact that Steve was stationed somewhere in the mainland and could call home more or less on a regular basis.
"You’re welcome sir," the voice said crisply and disconnected the call. Steve stared at the phone in his hand dumbly, his mind refusing to cooperate and start being useful for the moment.
"Steve, what was that all about?" The touch on his arm and the concerned face of John - which was quite close to his - brought him back from the stupor he had got lost in. Steve stared at him for a moment and then found the words to reply.
"That was the Honolulu General. My dad, he's in the hospital, he had a heart attack," Steve said in a dull tone, still not able to believe that it was real. He felt John's grip tighten around his arm at the revelation.
"What? When? How?" Questions bombarded him incredulously. Steve took a couple of deep breaths in an attempt to bring his turbulent mind into some semblance of control and deal with the situation.
"I don't know, but I need to go there now," he said decisively, standing up.
"Hey, Steve, hey, they didn't say it's bad, did they? Just don't go by yourself." John was also standing with him and he realized John was holding him by the shoulders, shaking him slightly. He grabbed onto John automatically, his presence so close to him, helping Steve to ground himself. He concentrated on what John was saying to him and could hear the regret in his voice at not being able to go with Steve. They were the team leaders of SG-11 and one had to be at the mountain if the other was going to be unavailable.
"Don't worry man, I'll go with him," Danny was also standing up and looking worried. He also looked determined to follow the SEAL home no matter what Steve had to say about it.
"I need to go pack a bag, and yeah, Danny, you can come with," said Steve, starting to mentally list the things he needed to do in order to get moving.
"I'll help," Kono volunteered.
"Let me talk to Walter and contact Peterson AFB - there might be a transport or something going that way. It'd be quicker," Sheppard suggested, and was already moving towards the elevator to go to level 27. "I'll come back and see you in your quarters," he threw back over his shoulder as he entered the elevator.
"Shit, I need to apply for leave," said Steve, watching John disappear into the lift.
"Don't stress Commander, we'll take care of it." Bates patted him on the back and Cadman nodded along. "We will apply on behalf of you two. This is an emergency. So it'll be fine," said Vega. Then she and Bates both took off towards the HR offices to handle the paperwork for their Commander's emergency leave.
"Thanks, guys," Steve shouted after them. And then he hurried towards his own quarters with the rest of his team tagging along. He already had a duffel packed for emergencies and only needed to add a few more things. He tried calling his dad’s friend but the call went to voicemail. He figured that he could try contacting them once he reached the hospital. He wouldn't even think about calling his sister until he had the chance to see his father and knew more about his condition.
..........
Within 20 minutes, Steve and Danny were both waiting by the exit at Cheyenne mountain for the vehicle that had been signed off for them to be delivered to Peterson AFB. Walter had made the arrangements. There was an army cargo plane making a training run to Hickam and he had managed to arrange transport for the two SEALs with it. They'd make their own way back after the visit to the hospital.
"Steve, listen, it's gonna be alright. You hear me? It'll be fine! Your dad's a tough guy, he'll be fine." Sheppard was holding his face in his hands and Steve found himself nodding along to the assurances pouring out of his boyfriend. Then John kissed him softly on the lips and Steve sighed, leaning into the comfort. He rested his forehead on John's and wished with all his heart to wake up and realize that this was all just a bad dream.
"And don't forget to call, yeah?" John implored as he straightened and very reluctantly let go of Steve.
"Sure John, I'll call," He promised as the SUV came to a stop in front of them. He and Danny both got in and seated themselves. He then gave a short wave to John who was still standing there by the exit watching them leave. Steve hoped what John had told him would be true, that his dad would be able to make it through. He was not ready to lose his only remaining parent. ‘God please, not again! Not so soon...' His mind was repeating the mantra as Steve let out a weary sigh and closed his eyes.

December 2nd — “You look cold. Take my coat.”
Something about Hogsmeade in winter was… magical. Even more so than usual. Alex walked with his friends from the school to the small town, his eyes wide with excitement. All around him there were the signs that Christmas was coming. Snow boots crunching over the thin layer of snow left behind from the night before, the cool crisp air filling his lungs and coming out in puffs of smoke as if he were a dragon.
“Come on Alex!” Alex looked up and grinned when he saw his friends waiting for him near the Three Broomsticks. He tugged his hat lower over his ears and ran to catch up with them.
Things in the wizarding world were getting bad, really bad. Alex and his family had moved into Sirius’s family home with him because they decided it was safer than their old home. They were all watching as Harry spiraled.
Alex knew it was taking a toll on his mom but there wasn’t anything that they could really do to help him. But today, Alex wasn’t going to worry about that. Today was about having fun, and shopping for Christmas.
“Who are you buying for?” Cameron, Alex’s best friend asked.
“My mom, my dad, Sirius, Jace, Emma and Livvy.” Alex recited. “And of course you.”
“Damn right you’re getting me a gift.” Cameron grinned.
Of course the only way any of that would work was if he managed to avoid spending all his money on candy, a serious threat as they walked into Honeydukes.
Alex grabbed a basket and started to walk around the shop, putting different treats into the basket. He had a sweet tooth, always had. He especially loved chocolate, a trait he apparently got from his father.
Speaking of, he stopped at the chocolate bars and picked up several of them, those were going to be his gift to his dad. Remus Lupin loved very little more than he loved chocolate, that was a fact. Alex often thought the only thing he did love more than chocolate was him.
They finished up at the candy shop, Alex spending way more than he meant to and moved on.
It only took a couple of hours to get all their shopping done. Neither of them really had a lot of money, and by the time they were done, they had just enough to get a couple of butterbeers.
“What are you doing here?” Alex and Cam had walked in and gotten their drinks. They barely sat when they heard the sneer.
“Having a butterbeer.” Alex replied, holding up the bottle as if it were obvious. Julian Zabini looked down at them, a dirty look on his face.
“I told you that you weren’t welcoming here, Dog.” Alex’s hand gripped the bottle tightly. It had recently been going around the school that his father was a werewolf, something he denied, but of course, shutting down rumors was nearly impossible.
“Shut up.” Alex snapped.
“Or what, you’ll bite me?” Julian smirked.
“Just ignore him.” Cam whispered. Alex took a deep breath and loosened his grip on the bottle.
“You should leave.” Julian pointed to the door.
“Until you buy the bar and make me, It’s not happening.” Alex lifted the bottle to his lips and took a drink. Julian reached out, smacking the bottle out of his hands.
“What the hell?!” Cam jumped up to keep from getting hit by the butterbeer. Alex saw red, diving out of the booth and smashing into Julian. The pair slammed into a table and the two people that had been sitting there cried out as their drinks flew. The two boys scuffled until Madam Rosmerta appeared, using magic to yank them apart.
“What exactly do you think you’re doing?” She shouted. “Get out. Both of you!” She kicked the boys out, ignoring the back that they were both covered in butterbeer now and it was snowing again. Julian’s buddies followed them out the door, tossing Alex into the alleyway between the pub and the building next to it.
“You think you’re tough?” Julian laughed, shoving Alex back against the brick wall.
“Tough enough that you think it’ll take three of you.” Alex replied, glancing over Julian’s shoulders at his buddies.
“That’s just because they wanna have their fun too.” Before Alex could say anything, Julian’s fist slammed into his face.
Alex quickly lost count of how many times they hit him, but eventually he ended up on the ground. He opened one eye and saw someone walking past, then running off. A few minutes later, came a shout.
“Stop!” They all froze as the familiar voice boomed down the alley.
“Professor.” Julian and his goons quickly stepped back. Alex sat up, wiping his mouth on his sleeve.
“What exactly do you think you’re doing?” Mcgonagall sounded horrified as she came into the alleyway.
“Evans attacked me in the pub-”
“Get back to the school, Mr Zabini, I will be talking to Professor Snape and we will work out a proper punishment for all three of you, go.” She snapped, Julian and the others ran off and McGonagall held a hand out to Alex. He stared a moment, then up at her, he was not sure that she would actually be able to help him up.
“Oh for the love of Merlin, Mr. Evans, just take the help.” He took her hand and she was stronger than she looked because she hauled him up onto his feet. “Thank you, Creevey.” Alex frowned and looked over, Dennis Creevey stood there, wide eyed. “Can you help Evans back to the school?”
“Y-yes.” Dennis answered. McGonagall nodded and turned to go, leaving the two boys alone. “I saw them hitting you so I found the first professor I could.” Dennis explained.
“Thanks.” Alex knew he was going to have to go to the infirmary wing, preferably before his older siblings saw his face.
“You want to go back to the school?” Dennis gestured in the correct direction.
“No, not really.” Alex answered honestly. “I think I’m going to hang out just a little longer.”
“Great, where are we going?” Dennis asked. Alex frowned.
“You don’t have to follow me, Dennis, I’ll be okay. Julian and the others are all back at the school.”
“Yeah, I know, i still plan on going with you. McGonagall gave me a job after all.” He smiled. Alex stared a moment then shrugged.
“Alright, if you insist.”
Alex knew where he wanted to go, he liked to go there sometimes. It was a place he liked to go and just hang out whenever he was able to get out and go to Hogsmeade.
“The Shrieking Shack?” Dennis seemed a little confused as they walked up to the place that overlooked the old house. Something about the snow made it seem even worse. Alex had never been insided, lucky for him, he hadn’t inherited his father’s curse, but Remus had told him about it once. About the abandoned home that they created tunnels to, about going there once a month, totally and completely alone, tearing up the house and himself. The screams of pain and horror making it back to the town, so bad that Dumbledore spread rumors of the house being haunted to keep anyone from investigating.
Alex sometimes thought about that deep loneliness his father told him about and knew that it couldn’t be that different from the loneliness that he sometimes felt himself. He wasn’t a werewolf, but he was the only one in his family not blood related to Sirius Black. Plus the feelings that had been stirring inside him for a few years now. The knowledge that not only was he different because of his dad but he was different because the way his older brother went after women? Alex never felt that. Jace was girl crazy, he would flirt with just about any girl he saw. Alex didn’t care for that. No, he had yet to find a girl he was really attracted to. Something he would have blamed on his age.
Except he had felt it towards others, Towards guys. Alex didn’t know anyone else that was like this, and he didn’t know how to talk about it with anyone, he wasn’t sure he wanted to, but standing there with Dennis, looking at the house that sheltered one of his dad’s secrets for so long, Alex felt more alone than he ever had before and he had never wanted to spill his secrets more than that moment either. To just load everything on Dennis sounded amazing.
But that wasn’t what Alexander Evans did. Instead he pressed his lips together and wrapped his arms around himself.
“You look cold, take my coat.” Before Alex could say anything, Dennis had shrugged out of his coat and carefully laid it over Alex’s shoulders.
“Won’t you be cold now?”
“Not really, I tend to be a very warm person.” Dennis replied.
Alex nodded, reaching up and wrapping the jacket around him a little tighter.
“I believe that.”

“Carl!” Cameron yelled out to hopefully to hear back from her friend or anyone else from the group. Terminus had just gone up with flames and smoke and with that y/n had been separated from the group.  “Cameron!” y/n heard her name been called out, she tried to run through the walkers as she killed them but she was pulled back by someone, y/n screamed as the person pulled her back but a hand was placed over her mouth as she was being pulled back by the stranger. “Cameron!” Carl yelled out again he tried to around looking for her but Rick pulled him back saying that they needed to go and that they’ll find y/n when they were safe and away from Terminus.  “Dad, we have to go back! Cameron is still in there!” Carl said as he walked after his father. “We will, when we walk back around we will find her I promise. First we need to make sure that everyone here is safe and not hurt.” Rick tried to compromise with the young teenager but Carl was not having it, he was not going to let his best friend be taken away from him. He had already lost way too much in his life to lose Cameron also. * “Get you’re hands off of me!” Cameron said as she tried to get free of the man who had a hold of her.  “Be quite or you’ll die.” the man said  “Take her and make sure that Rick or that kid of his doesn’t find her, we need her.” the man said as he placed the bag over her head and passed her onto another person. “What the hell do you want with me?” Cameron said as the bag was ripped off her head.  “You’re a good use of value to us, we need you for a job.” The man said, Cameron looked up and it was the man who put her group, he family in this hell in the first place it was Gareth.  “We need you for a job, and you’ll do it.” Gareth said as he moved a piece of her hair from her face, she moved her face so that he could not touch it anymore.  “Do not touch me.” Cameron seethed through her teeth.  “Oh, they’ll do more than touch you.” When Gareth said that Cameron’s eye’s almost fell out of her head.  “W-what?” Cameron said starting to get scared.  Gareth didn’t say anything all he did was leave with a horrid grin as two other men walked into the dark room.  “Don’t leave me in here Gareth! Gareth No!.’ Cameron said through her tears as he shut the door. This went on for over three weeks, the same day over and over again. But one day they never came back, the same two men never came back to hurt Cameron. She had kept on thinking that maybe just maybe Rick got to them and ad destroyed them.  Minutes turned to hours, hours turned to days, months and then a year. that’s how long Cameron spent alone, after the third day of Gareth not coming back she had freed herself finally from the restraints that where binding her to the wooden chair. Cameron didn’t sleep she never did and never wanted to because whenever she did all she could think of and see was those men violating her in ways that she never thought were possible.  The one thing that Cameron learned over the year was to defend herself from anyone and anything, she learned how to hunt properly, she is a killer woman with a gun (any kind of gun). But most of all the one thing she had on her mind the entire year was her family, Glenn and Cameron had become close through out the years, he treated her like she was his own daughter, when Maggie came along it all came around in full circle. When Maggie and Glenn had gotten together the three of them had become a smaller family within the massive family that there already was. As Cameron grew up herself and Carl were close, they went to the same school both of their parents were friends. Cameron’s parents looked at the sheriffs department along with Rick and Shane.  * As the time went by Cameron’s once short dirty blonde hair turned darker and grew longer, as well with her clothes every few months or so she’d need to scavenge for new clothes, at every near thrift or clothing store she could find along her travels. She always went for the same thing though either a black or green tank top, green green came pants, windbreakers and her combat boots. they were always her go to it would always keep her hidden within the forests. But the one thing that would never change within her routine would be the use of the all black hand-held pistol that Glenn had given her almost over two years ago. Along her travels one day over five cars passed along the main street in Virginia, she was curious so she followed them slowly but surely on her feet making sure that they could not see her following them.  The cars ended up going into what Cameron thought was a compound, but from the cheerful voices she could hear from the inside she knew it was community, a safe place. As the cars went into the community area Cameron kept herself hidden so that she could not be seen. But when when the gates were closed she came out from her hiding place and stood in front of the gates.  “Tara open up!” Cameron heard a voice yell from the post that was above the massive gate itself. As the gate opened Cameron jumped a little bit as to how  loud. But Tara she knew that name somewhere.  “Cameron?” Tara asked as he saw the now not so much stranger  “Oh god, Tara.” Cameron said she hugged her “It’s nice to see you are still alive. Carl is going to lose his shit when he sees you.” Tara said as she hugged the younger girl, Cameron laughed and then realised that she had said Carl. “Where is he? Where is Glenn and Maggie?” Cameron said too fast for Tara to comprehend.  “Calm down, they are all alive.”  “Rose, get Eugene down here we got to get Cameron to everyone.” * “How did you stay alive out there? Geeze you only just turned fifteen.” Tara made conversation as they walked.  “Yeah it was scary, but I got through it all. You learn more about yourself and the world that we now live in.” Cameron said and Tara listened.  “Cam?” Cameron turned her head to see Glenn. She dropped everything that was on her and ran towards him.  “I thought you were gone.” Glenn said as he held Cameron in a tight embrace.  “No still here, geeze I missed you.” Cameron said through the tears that were now running down her face.  “Where is Maggie-.” Cameron was cut off by Maggie calling out for her.  “Cameron!” Maggie yelled as she ran towards the teenage girl  “Maggie!” The two embraced each other in a hug, tears were now shared by both girls. Maggie pulled away from Cameron and placed both of hands on her face and looked at the teenager.  “You’ve grown up so much, you’re a beautiful girl. I am so proud of you.” Maggie said then kissed the girls forehead and then pulled her in for another hug.   “I tried to find you guy’s, but I lost hope. But it looks like I was going in the right direction all along.” Cameron said through her sobs.  “It’s okay, Cam you’re home.”  “Where’s Carl?” Cameron said with excitement within her words. This made Maggie and the rest of the people surrounding them laugh slightly.  “He’s in the house with Judith. Go on in.” Glenn said to Cameron.  “This one right here.” Maggie said as she pointed to the house behind them. Cameron had the biggest and brightest smile that she could muster, she was just excited to see her best-friend, the boy who she has loved since she was thirteen.  Cameron walked up the stairs towards the front door, her hand took a hold of the door handle and slowly and took a deep breath in.  Making her way from the doorway she slowly and quietly shut the door behind her, she took in the hallway around her it was nice it was the first house that she had seen in tact in a long time. “Dad is that you?” Carl said as he came out from what looked like the kitchen.  “Cam?” Carl didn’t believe that it was her in front of him. All she did was nod her head with a yes as the tears started the fall down her face. Carl moved closer to Cameron and placed his hands on her face, each hand cupped one of her cheeks, Carl looked straight into her eyes like he was searching for something. Cameron placed her hands on his. “I-i thought you were gone, you’re alive.” Now Carl had tears running down his face, because he now knew that he would no longer have to stay up late thinking about how she could be unsafe or possibly dead. “You’re alive.” Carl said with now a smile on his face.  “Yeah I’m alive, what happened to you’re eye-.” Cameron was cut off by Carl placing his lips upon hers. Cameron pulled back then hugged him. She placed her arms around his waist as his wrapped tightly around her shoulders.  “You’re home now, we will never lose each other ever again.” Carl said  “Can I see Judith?” Cameron asked and Carl chuckled “Of course come on, I’ll take you to her.” Carl said and grabbed a hold of her hand and took her to her where Carl’s sister was.

you’re too good to be all mine / c. york
Tumblr media
☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
my masterlist!
title from seeing blind by niall horan ft maren morris
-
you look out with a sigh, taking in the lanes that were both jam packed with cars. since cam had merged onto the interstate just over ten minutes ago, you’d probably moved two, maybe three, miles. he looks over at you with a pout, “what's got the princess so upset?”
you roll your eyes and lean your head back against the headrest, “you’re gonna have me home past curfew, again, which is not very good for you.”
“i always have you home on time. i’m sure that she’ll let this one time slide. i mean, i couldn’t help that there was a car accident.” he says with a shrug.
you tilt your head to look at the red haired boy, “out of our last five dates, you had me home past curfew three times. almost four, but you pulled into the driveway literally a minute before ten.”
he opens his mouth to speak, but pauses when your phone lights up. you can see him stiffen as you giggle, sliding your finger across the screen. “hi mom.”
“where are you?” she asks immediately. “i’m going to have to have a serious talk with cameron about this.”
you look at your boyfriend before answering, “there’s a car accident or something on the interstate. we didn’t know until we got on and the next exits not for, like, another mile.”
“facetime me,” she says. you close your eyes, holding in a groan as you switch the call to a facetime one. you switch the camera so that she can all the cars stopped in front of you. “let me see you.”
you turn the camera to face you and hold up a peace sign. you angle the phone towards cam who shoots her an apologetic look, “i’m sorry mrs-”
“that’s what you always say, cameron. drive safe.” she hangs up the phone and you raise your hand to cover your mouth as he groans, gripping the steering wheel.
“she full named me not once, but twice. y/n, i’m never gonna be able to see you again.” he says, half joking and half serious.
you roll your eyes and lean over to peck his cheek, “i’ll sneak out to see you.”
he shoves you lightly back into your seat, intertwining your hands together and bringing them to his lips. you do eventually make it home thirty minutes past curfew and when cam’s truck pulls into the driveway, your mother opens the door. he turns to you, “i’m not gonna kiss you because that will probably land me in more trouble, but good night. i love you.”
he holds up a fist and you smile, knocking yours against it. “i love you too. facetime me when you get home.”
you grab your jacket and your purse before opening the door and sending him a final smile. you shut the door and speed walk to the door, looking at your mother apologetically. thankfully, she doesn’t go after him and nods you goodnight. you sigh and head for your room, shutting the door behind you.
you quickly change into some pajamas and just barely finish your routine before you laptop lights up with the call from cam. you lean down and look at him, “you wanted to ask me something. what is it?”
“what?” he asks, a ginger eyebrow raised as he walks through the apartment he shared with beecher. “no i did-”
“cam, you can’t lie to me. spill the beans, yorkie.” you flick off your bathroom light before nestling yourself under the covers and plugging in your phone.
“fine,” he mumbles, flopping down onto his bed, “some of the guys want to meet you. not beech, obviously, but the new ones. it’s, like, a thing apparently.”
“that sounds like fun, cam.” you say honestly, propping your head on your arm. “when?”
-
‘when’ apparently was too long for his teammates because while you were at work a few days later, you suddenly had a table full of hungry, question filled hockey players asking for you. johnny was there and when he saw you, he grinned. “boys, y/n. y/n, boys.”
they all looked at you, taking you in. nervously, you smile and wave, asking for their drink orders. they all get water and one asks before you go to get them, “when’s your break?”
you look at your watch, “ten minutes give or take?”
they were all pleased with that answer and let you go. you lean against the counter and sigh, pulling out your phone to text cam, but decide against it. you could do this. you kept chanting to yourself before filling up the glasses.
you take them to the table and after you leave and then return to get their orders, it was time for your break. you fix yourself a glass of water before walking to the table where, suddenly, there was an empty chair there. you take a seat, cross your legs and look towards the boys. “ask away.”
johnny sat back while they all fired questions your way, having already been knowing you.
“how did you meet yorkie?” he was in my history class.
“how long have you been together?” a little over a year.
“do you like hockey?” it’s decent.
“favorite player?” cam, obviously.
“that doesn’t count.” too bad.
“i like her.” you grin
“what’s your favorite color?” yellow.
“what’s 9+10?” depends on if you’re referring to the vine or the actual mathematical answer.
“why is he so determined to keep you a secret?” personal reasons.
“what are you majoring in?” nothing yet.
that stops them all. johnny looks up from his phone and chuckles, “they didn’t believe me when i told them you were still in school.”
you felt judged when they asked how old you were and you answered with, “seventeen.”
“yorkie‘s dating a kid?”
“so, you’ve got to ask for permission to go out with him then?”
“how many nights has he had you out past curfew, kid?”
“oh, i’m definitely chirping him for this.”
johnny watches as you have an inward battle before announcing your break was over three minutes early and grabbing your glass. you walk back to the kitchen and lean against the counter, trying to contain yourself. one of your tables order is ready, so you grab it and deliver it. when you walk by the kitchen johnny’s there looking solemn.
“i’m sorry, y/n.” he mumbles, pulling you into a hug. “they can be real assholes sometimes. i’m sure cam will straighten them out.”
“i don’t need him to fight my battles, beech.” you mumble, pulling back and walking back into the kitchen.
-
when they left, it felt like a weight was lifted off your chest. they left a pretty hefty tip which you were was due to johnny forcing them to do so, and an apology. you just nodded and thanked them for coming before moving on. when you finally got in your car after clocking out, it took everything inside of you not to break.
you drove home only to find cam’s truck parked in the street. you pull your car into the driveway and sigh, grabbing you things. you walk through the front door, seeing cam and your mom having a conversation on the couch. he looks at you with a sorry look before standing. he must’ve explained to your mom what was going on because she would never allow him over this late.
you walk up the stairs with him following closely behind. you get in your room and he leaves the door cracked before he pulls you into his chest. you finally break as he begins apologizing, “i told them to wait for me, baby, i’m so sorry.”
“i felt so judged, cam,” you mumbled, it being muffled by his shirt. “they kept calling me a kid. you’re only ten months older than me!”
“i know, i know.” he mumbles, squeezing you tighter. the metal track of his zipper digs into your skin so you have to pull back. “i’m gonna talk to them about it. that’s uncalled for.”
“they’re gonna chirp you regardless, cam. it doesn’t really matter at this point.” you move over to your dresser and grab some pajamas. you go into your bathroom to change. you take off your makeup and brush your teeth before opening the door.
he’s laying in your bed, typing on his phone. “i’m giving them hell in the group chat. they aren’t gonna talk to you like that, baby.”
you get in the empty side and snuggle under the covers. he shuts off his phone and pulls you into him, holding you close. you play with the string on his jacket as quiet envelops you both. before you knock into unconsciousness, you mumble an ‘i love you’ to which he returns.
when your mom peaks her head in an hour later to see you both knocked out, you gripping onto his shirt tightly and him holding you so close, she just shook her head and went to bed.

BELLE
Belle turned this way and that, looking at herself critically in the full-length mirror. Her morning sickness had finally managed to get itself under control and she was feeling well enough to head out to the gala with Cameron tonight, but she couldn’t help feeling like her pregnancy was suddenly obvious to the world at large, despite her not being anywhere near close to showing. She felt as if there was a huge sign hanging over her head announcing it to everyone.
Perhaps it was just because she knew that she was much paler than usual due to a lack of regular diet and she was wearing more make-up to cover it, but hopefully the atmospheric lighting in the ballroom where the party was taking place would help with that.
Cam slipped into the room and came over to her, putting an arm around her waist and leaning in to kiss her forehead gently, not wanting to ruin her make-up or coiffeur.
“The taxi’s here,” he said. “Are you ready to go?”
“As ready as I’ll ever be, I guess.” She gave a twirl, the skirt of her golden silk gown flying out around her legs. “I’m not sure I’ll be up for much more dancing than that this evening, but do I look all right anyway?”
“You look perfect, as you always do.” Cameron took her hand but made no move to leave the bedroom. “You know that you don’t have to come if you don’t want to; if you would be more comfortable staying here.”
“No, I’m definitely going after putting all this work into getting ready.” She smiled. “Honestly, I’ve been looking forward to this occasion. Well, I was looking forward to it until I started throwing up all the time. Since then all I’ve been looking forward to is not throwing up. Still, it’s always nice to be able to go out and show you off. I like having my dapper husband on my arm. Especially when he’s wearing a bow tie.”
She let go of his hand in order to adjust the tie, not that it really needed it. Cameron was always impeccably turned out whenever he left the house, which was why it was so much more exciting when she got him hot and bothered and dishevelled. She had not been in the mood for much of that lately, but she was hoping that it would come with time. Mary Margaret had commented on the middle trimester of happy hormones when she had been expecting Neal.
“Come on,” he said. “We’d better go or else we’ll end up being unfashionably fashionably late. I know you’re not one who likes to make a big entrance.”
The taxi ride to the venue wasn’t all that long, but Belle wouldn’t have liked to walk it in her dress and heels. She hadn’t been all that involved in the planning, needing to focus on doing her day job when she could and taking care of herself when she couldn’t, but Ariel had been giving her regular updates, and as she and Cameron stepped into the ballroom, she could see that Regina had once again outdone herself when it came to presentation. She really should set up a sideline in party planning, and Belle wondered how she’d ended up working in local government in the first place when she had such artistic and organisational flair.
“Belle! I’m so glad that you came!”
Ariel was the first person in the crowds who noticed their arrival, and Belle was glad of it. She wondered if Ariel and Eric had been hanging around by the entrance all evening for the express purpose of catching her on the way in.
“Mr Gold, I’m going to have to borrow your wife for a moment to tell her just how ravishing she looks.” Without any further comment, Ariel hooked her arm through Belle’s and pulled her away in the direction of the buffet table. Cameron was happy to let her go, accepting a glass of champagne from one of the waiters circling unobtrusively.
“You really do look wonderful,” Ariel said. “Now I see what they mean about pregnant women glowing.”
“I think that’s probably more to do with the lights reflecting off the dress,” Belle said. “I feel about as far away from glowing as it’s possible to be at the moment. You look amazing too.”
Ariel swished the skirt of her mermaid tail dress, completely covered in sequins that faded from purple down to green. “I know, isn’t it shiny? It’s super-heavy though, you wouldn’t believe how much tape I’ve got holding it up. Anyway, that isn’t why I cornered you.”
“No, I kind of gathered that much. You’re about as subtle as a brick. What do you need to warn me of?”
Ariel pointed to the left in the direction of the bar where Zelena was entertaining a crowd of hangers-on.
“Yes, well, I know we all hoped that she wouldn’t come, but it was really wishful thinking, wasn’t it?”
“Yeah.” Ariel sighed. “Still, she seems to be on a roll tonight. I’m half-expecting her to start charging for gossip.”
“Well, I know to steer clear of her at the best of times, but thanks for the warning.”
Ariel patted her shoulder. “Any time. Do you want anything to eat or drink?”
“I’d kill for a triple vodka and tonic but somehow I don’t think that’s going to be a good idea, so I’ll settle for orange juice. I need some sugar and food probably isn’t a great thought right now.”
Ariel grabbed a waiter and sent him off to source some orange juice, and in the meantime they turned to speak to Robin, who was, as expected, trying to hide behind the buffet table.
“I don’t even have the excuse of needing to watch Roland, because he’s with Marian this week,” he lamented. “I’m beginning to consider texting her to make up some kind of fake emergency to get me out of this, but at the same time, I want to stay and support Regina. I just don’t like wearing the penguin suit.”
“You look very dashing in it. Who knew that you scrubbed up so well, Robin?”
“I did.” Regina came over and kissed his cheek. “Hello Belle. It’s good to see you; you haven’t been out and about for a while. Is everything ok?”
Belle nodded. “Yes, it’s fine, thank you. I’ve just been a bit under the weather, that’s all.” She wondered if Regina had already put two and two together.
“Uh oh.” Robin took a step back behind Regina. “Here comes trouble.”
Belle looked up to see that Zelena had shaken off her hangers on at the bar and was coming over to them.
“Let’s hope that we can make her go away quickly.” Cameron had come over, slipping his arm around Belle’s waist. “Can we just pretend that she’s not here and that she’s not speaking?”
“Hello, everyone.” Zelena had reached them. “Belle, it’s so good to see you, you’ve been lying low recently. I do believe congratulations are in order.”
Regina raised an eyebrow. “Indeed?”
“Yes.” Zelena nodded in Belle’s direction. “She’s finally managed to get herself knocked up, haven’t you, dear? Got your claws in good and proper.”
All of a sudden, despite the music from the band and the general chatter of all of the other people around them, Belle was certain that she could have heard a pin drop. Everyone in their circle was looking at her and Zelena, and Belle felt her face begin to drain as her stomach rolled.
“Oh, sorry, was it a secret? Oops.”
Belle just felt sick, and something in the back of her mind weighed up the pros and cons of the mortification of throwing up in public versus the satisfaction of throwing up all over Zelena. No one was speaking. Everyone was just looking at her.
Then she heard Cam’s voice, low and quiet and so very, very dangerous.
“Never speak to my wife like that. In fact, never speak to me or my wife again.”
“Get out,” Regina said. “Leave. Now. Go. You’re the vilest and most revolting person I’ve ever had the displeasure to know. How dare you?”
“What, tell the truth? Look at her, she can’t deny it. I saw her coming out of the maternity clinic at the hospital looking very pleased with herself.”
“Mom, that’s awful.” Robyn peered into the circle from behind her father’s shoulder, her face stricken. “God, I knew you were catty and mean, but that’s something else. So what if Belle is pregnant? It’s not for you to tell the world that.”
“Darling, I was simply concerned…”
“Like hell you were,” Robyn snarled. “No, you just wanted to cause a scene at someone else’s expense like you always do. You’re pathetic.”
Belle’s nausea was gradually subsiding, and all she felt was anger, an icy ball of fury building up in the pit of her stomach and bubbling there.
“You know, Zelena, I pity you. You’re so sad, and so lonely, and you’re so unable to find happiness in your life that you’ve decided that everyone else in the world has to be unhappy alongside you so that you can feel superior. You’ve been determined to punish me for being the one that Cameron chose over you, ever since we first became a couple, and for the most part, I’ve never fought back against you. I’ve never felt the need, because I know that Cameron loves me, and I love him and his feelings towards you… Well, there aren’t any. No matter the amount of mud you sling my way, you’ve never succeeded in making me feel insecure in my marriage. You’ve made me sad, you’ve made me angry, you’ve made me so enraged I hit you round the face, which I’m sure you don’t want a repeat of. But ultimately, you’ve always failed, because every time you try and come between us, it just makes us stick together even more. And now we’re having a child together, one that we have wanted and planned for over six months, and you can’t stand that all your efforts have failed. You’re a sad, pathetic little creature and you’re lashing out in your pain. I’d feel sorry for you if you weren’t such a horrible human being.”
She turned to Cam, who was looking at her with awestruck admiration. “I don’t think we need to stay here any longer, Cam. Will you dance with me?”
Cam offered her his free arm. “It would be my pleasure, my darling.”
“Not too fast and twirly,” Belle muttered as they made their way through the dumbfounded crowds towards the dancefloor. “I still might throw up at any second and I’d rather projectile vomit over her than you.”
Cam just kissed her, long and deep and in a way that could leave no-one in any doubt as to the solidity of their relationship.
“Belle, you are a wonder, and I think I may just have fallen in love with you all over again. That was masterful.”
“I’m shaking like a leaf, but it felt good to say it. Everything just became clear. It was like a veil had lifted. She’s cowed me one too many times before, but suddenly, I just stopped feeling that way.”
As they swayed softly to the music together, Belle looked over Cam’s shoulder to see Robyn dragging her mother towards the exit, both looking absolutely furious. Despite everything, she smiled, resting her head against Cam’s neck and feeling his arm warm and solid around her back.
Nothing was going to bring her down now.

when i instantly regret giving you the idea to let me choose 😬
AJ & LANA
Tumblr media
this year had been more than eventful but aj wouldn’t change any part of it for the world. he was a father and soon to be husband. being a parent was taking a lot of adjustment but he felt like he was learning more everyday. it was hard at times and sometimes he felt incompetent but seeing lana and jasmine either in his arms or just them being together made him feel better instantly. or when his older brother brooklyn would give him brook-like compliments about how he was doing. this new years they were at his fathers’ house and had already set up to stay the night in one of the spare bedrooms to return to their home the following day, just wanting to be safe and avoid drunk drivers on the road. jasmine was already asleep and in his father’s arms, so lana was at aj’s side, one arm loosely around her waist, the other hand holding a glass of champagne. as the clock struck midnight, he leaned over and kissed his fiance. “happy new year baby. it’s crazy to think about that next new year’s we’ll be married already,” he blushes and kisses her again, their wedding coming up in just a few months.
---- diff time period but same party----
CJ & JOSH
Tumblr media
this past month had been quite stressful for his husband and cj just always did his best to make things better. he liked to think he did well with that, the male having been with his husband for over 20 years and josh did always seem to be in better spirits after time with cj. cj was just grateful to have been home the night news broke about their son and that he’d be home for new years. due to his hectic schedule he didn’t always get lucky and have holidays off, but when he did, he was very grateful. tonight they were at their kids’ new years eve party and cj was enjoying himself, especially because this party got him to see chris, ct and bay with their new significant others in a new setting and he had to admit, he had become a fan of each in different ways. sure, chris and cam were still new, but seeing chris in general being affectionate with an actual human compared to a burrito was pretty amazing. when the clock hit midnight though, his eyes were on one man and one man only. his husband, father of his children and the love of his life. joshua cooper. his lips instantly touched josh’s and as he pulled away, he kept their foreheads close as he looked back at him. “happy new year baby. i love you so much.”
CHRIS & CAMERON
Tumblr media
sure, the day before when chris and jack got back, chris and cam’s time together wasn’t as extended as he’d like, especially because chris’ parents had stayed a few hours longer than expected. chris understood that they had been worried but he had reassured them that he was more than okay. he always was! it was just a broken wrist that would go away in 2 months at the most! finally, in the evening they got some alone time and were able to be in the same bed again. chris had missed cam a lot and now that they were a couple, it felt more special just lying beside him and talking to him. it wasn’t easy finding a comfortable position due to chris’ new cast but they made it work. now it was new years eve and everyone was at their house! chris was grateful that his dads were great with cam and being nice compared to the welcoming that jack got. now the the countdown was coming up, cameron was sitting on the kitchen counter, chip bowls around him and chris standing between his legs with a drink in his cast-free hand. his arm with the cast was as around his waist as it could be. chris smiled wide at cameron counting down with him in sync before pressing his lips against his boyfriends happily. “happy new year and thank you for making me a happy taco to start the new year off,” he chuckles then kisses cam again. he then pouts, “i really hate that i can’t jump in the pool right now,” he laughs.
BRANDON & BAYLEE
Tumblr media
brandon and baylee were very much in the honeymoon phase. everyone that came across them could easily see it, even her parents who were starting to warm up to him! brandon honestly felt so accomplished but he also knew he had a lot of work ahead of him, but it was fine! it was worth it. baylee was worth it. he truly was in this for the long run and he was willing to put the time and effort to show that. baylee made it easy though because in brandon’s eyes, she truly was the best person he could pick for his other half. his lobster. everyday he fell more for her if that was even possible. he had just been talking with her and her fathers when the countdown began. he was a bit nervous when it came to kissing her in front of them but they also had seem to be enjoying his company tonight, especially after a few drinks. so he was going to keep it pg at least. once they all yelled “1! Happy New Year!” he brought her closer to him and pecked her lips with the usual big grin he had on his face when he kissed her. “Happy New Year baby,” he said against her lips, “happy to be a taken moriarty this year.”
AND ONE MORE BECAUSE YOU COULDN’T BREAK THE DAMN TIE.
CT & JACK
Tumblr media
CT’s life had changed over the last two months. He had always just focused on family and school but then he and jack started talking and now they were a couple. CT had always been scared to open himself up to someone again but Jack made it easy. Not everyone agreed with their pairing, especially his parents, but CT felt confident in Jack. The way the male looked at him and the how patient he was with him, it just made CT feel safe, which was something he had never felt with someone he liked. CT believed in Jack and he believed in them as a couple and it was the greatest decision he had ever made. CT had never been happier. The last week had been a bit rough though, CT missing Jack while he was on his trip, but he understood entirely. Hell, sometimes CT had to study for a week for a test so they couldn’t really see each other plus jack had a job. There would be weeks/days like this and CT knew that, but it just made him pout being in a different time zone that jack. He got to facetime him though which helped and now they were at the Gucci Gang House New Years Eve Party and it was really fun! CT drank a bit so he had a good buzz going on, just enjoying himself with his family and their friends in the same place. CT was talking to his twin when the countdown started and his eyes widened. “ah! jack!” he called out, not realizing how long he had been talking to his twin. it was his first new years with a boyfriend and someone proper to kiss. he spotted his boyfriend talking to JJ and quickly wrapped his arms around his waist as the countdown reached ‘4′. he mouthed the words ‘sorry’ to his brother but then reached up to touch jack’s cheek to make him look at him as the countdown hit 1. “happy new year handsome boy,” he blushed and kissed him happily, his cheeks warm with happiness.
Send ’ 🎉 ’ to kiss my muse at midnight on New Years Eve.

That is the age when people get the first words that their soulmate will ever say to them, etched into their skin. Ever since he found out about soulmates through his grandma, Grayson Dolan just could not wait to turn 12 so he could know what those first words would be.
But the day he did turn 12 years old along with his brother, the poor boy's excited smile upon looking at the new ink that now resided on his arm, turned into a confused frown when he didn't understand what the words meant.
Pazi gdje ideš, idiote!
Hell, he couldn't even pronounce them. The only word he did know the meaning of was 'idiote' because that word had to have something to do with 'idiot', a word his big sister often used for him and his twin.
He showed the tattoo to Ethan first, seeing the words that were written on Ethan's skin too. His twin had 'Um, excuse me-you're blocking the door.' inked on his arm. None of that foreign shit.
"Whoa bro, you're getting yourself a foreigner chic!" Ethan had clpped Grayson on the back, grinning from ear to ear as he examined his own arm. "Mine seems to be wanting to run away from me before even meeting me."
Grayson had spent the whole day either staring at the unfamiliar words on his arm or running around and asking every family member if they could translate the words to him.
"I don't know what this says, sweetheart." His aunt had ruffled his hair, her heart melting at his sad pout as he hung his head at the unfortunate news.
"At least tell me which language it is?" He sounded so hopeful when he lifted his head and looked at his uncle's wife again.
"I don't think I know, Gray."
Grayson is the romantic, an avid believer in love and soulmates so it's a no brainer that he's been waiting for the day someone would yell at him in Bosnian about 'watching where he's going'. Its been years and years and years, but the day has unfortunately never come.
Cameron already found her soulmate and the woman is smitten, so in love, its sickening. Thank God, Ethan still hasn't found his girl because if he would have, Grayson would have gone mad. He wants to feel that love too, he's been waiting for so long.
The twins love to talk about the possible ways they could meet their soulmates. It only makes him want her more. He doesn't even know her name, doesn't even know what she looks like. He wishes she would hurry.
"Cam is so fucking lucky she found Jack in uni, bro." Ethan runs his hands through his hair, looking at the words on his arm. "I wonder what's written on her arm."
Grayson just shrugs, laying down on the couch opposite Ethan. "You'll find out when she decides to walk into your life, bro. It's all upto them now, we tried all we could to find them. Traveled the world at just 16 just so we could find my foreigner."
Ethan watches his brother starts to pout like he usually does when he talks about his foreigner. That's what they call her, Grayson's foreigner.
"Aww Gray, don't worry! Your foreigner chick is out there somewhere. At least you know you'll meet her. Some people don't even get anything inked on their skin."
Grayson nods. Ethan is right. At least he is sure he will meet his girl, unlike some people who never meet their other half. Bringing his arm infront of him, he traces the words with his finger. "We are going to be 27 this year. She better hurry or I'm gonna go to Bosnia and hunt her down."
His brother sighs, "If she even is in Bosnia."
Hey foreigner, I've been waiting for you longer than I've ever waited for anything. Please come to me soon, I really wanna know you. He speaks to her in his head, like he usually does when he is feeling particularly lonely.
His foreigner chick finally listened.
Y/N wasn't having the best day. Her first week in LA and it was already going horribly bad. The poor girl fell ill on the day she landed three days ago. She had just started to feel better yesterday and today, mother nature slapped her in the face again with her period.
Today also happened to be the day she needed to go grocery shopping because the food supplies were quickly disappearing. The grocery store was quite close to her house but the freaking traffic made her sit in her car for an additional 20 minutes before she reached her destination.
In the grocery store, the line in front of the cash register was endless and she was starting to feel her cramps getting worse and worse to the point where she just wanted to curl up in a ball in bed with a heating pad pressed to her stomach. Not to mention, the woman right behind her kept bickering with her little son to 'keep the toy back, Noah! Go keep it back where you got it from, I'm not buying you anymore-I'm calling your dad if you don't keep it back right now, young man!"
And then, just to make her day even more amazing, note the sarcasm, the poor girl got toppled over by what felt like a bulldozer on her way to her car that was parked down the street. She had her shopping bags in one hand and her keys in the other and she had just rounded a corner when one hulk of a man ran into her, literally, sending her falling on the ground, right on her butt.
She didn't even get to see the face or hear the voice, she just saw red as her eyes teared up at the excruciating pain the fall gave her already aching abdomen and she just shouted the first thing that came to mind.
"Pazi gdje ideš, idiote!" She yelled, picking up the key ring that fell beside her with the deadliest frown on her face. "Couldn't have gotten a better welcome to America."
Grayson stood still in front of her, not being able to believe that this girl just said the exact words he's been dying to hear since the age of 12. The same words he'd memorized by heart.
"Holy fuck, it's you."
And now it was her turn to stop collecting all the items that fell out of her shopping bag and turn to look up at the man who uttered the words that have been etched into her skin since the age of 12.
The man she sees is Grayson freaking Dolan. The guy she had a massive crush on when she was young, the guy whose videos she used to watch every Tuesday without fail few years back. She never thought she would meet the man, yet here he is.
Her soulmate.
"Oh my God, I'm so sorry!" He finally snaps out of his surprised state and sees that she is on the floor, her stuff lying around her because he slammed into her. "This-I didn't-I'm so-"
"Its okay," she can't keep her eyes off his face. He is so much more beautiful up close, the cameras don't do him justice. Grayson squats down and finally came face to face with her, seeing her up close without the glare of the sun making him blind.
And it feels like the world stops and starts spinning around her. Here she is, the woman he has been dying to meet all his life, the girl he's been waiting for all these years.
His foreigner chick. She is right in front of him and he can't look away. It's not like he hasn't seen beautiful girls before, but for some reason, this girl's beauty makes him forget the basic need to breath. Her eyes are not the rarest colour, yet he can't seem to look away from them. His heart feels like its finally beating right after all these years that he's been alive. The whole world seems brighter and more lively now that she is in front of him and now he knows how Cameron is so in love with her soulmate.
It's crazy. He thought love at first sight didn't happen in real life!
"Hi, I'm Grayson."
"Y/N."
Ethan, who just arrived at the scene watching how his brother and this mystery girl are looking at each other and it does not take long for him to put two and two together. This is how his dad used to look at his mom, how his sister looks at her man.
"Oh great, he's found his foreigner." He says to himself, feeling happy for his brother but sad for himself. Looking down at his arm, he sighs, "Foreigner is here too. When are you planning on paying me a visit?"
To an outsider, it would look like the guy is crazy, talking to his own arm. But the guy is desperate! Now that Grayson has his girl, Ethan wants his own too!

A History of Secrets Chapter 8
Chapter 8
“Oh God…” Cameron whispered as they reached the crime scene.
From the outside, one wouldn’t be able to even tell something happened inside. Kay turned her head to him, “You recognize this place?”
“I recognize the name of the restaurant.” Kay raised an eyebrow at him. He explained “They make these signature dishes that they claim is unique to each customer. No two dishes are ever alike.”
“They’re not ridiculously overpriced?”
“Oh, no, they’re overpriced as hell but apparently no one’s ever left this place disappointed.” He noticed a look of hesitation on Kay’s face, “What’s wrong?”
Kay took a deep breath, “I know you’re pretty used to seeing dead bodies by now but I do have to warn you… this might be a little more intense than even we’ve done.”
“Thanks for the warning but I think I’ll be fine.”
Kay pursed her mouth for a moment, “Alright then. Let’s head in.”
(~**~)              (~**~)              (~**~)              (~**~)
As Cameron and Kay walked in, they were greeted by Mike, “Unfortunately, this is a case that required all hands on deck. I’m sorry you had to put a stop on your search for Berossi”
Cameron waved his hand, “Don’t worry. You know how this goes anyway; she’ll have us find her when it’s convenient for her.”
“So how many victims do we have?” Kay asked.
Mike shook his head, “They’re still counting but it’s clear that they all died from the cause, we just don’t know what that is yet.”
Kay raised an eyebrow, “How many are there so far?”
“So far, we have four victims.”
“Four?!”
“It’s not pretty.”
When they got to the back where the kitchen was, Mike handed them both a mask to place over their nose and mouth before he himself put one on. However, upon walking inside, not even the mask could cover the smell of the horrors inside the kitchen.
Cameron scrunched his nose as Kay and Mike did the same. “How long have the bodies been here?”
“From what I was told, it’s only been twelve hours.” Mike explained, “The only connection we have is that all of our victims were part of the staff in some way.”
“So there’s little chance that it’s because of any of the food that’s been sent to the customers seeing as none of them have been affected.”
“That we know of.” Kay reminded, “Apparently, the restaurant’s been closed for two days and they haven’t once closed their doors since they opened this place five years ago.”
“Any reason why?”
“Renovations it seems.” Mike replied.
“And now four people are dead.” Kay added, “Okay, we’ll need a list of the rest of the staff, the renovation crew-”
“You don’t understand! I must have my kitchen by tomorrow night! The grand re-opening is going to be our most successful night of the year!” A tall man in a white chef’s coat exclaimed as some officers tried to keep him out of the kitchen.
“Excuse me!” Kay called out as she walked towards the man and the officers, “I’ll take it from here.” The officers left as Kay looked to the man, “And who might you be?”
The man gave a wide, charming smile, “I am Philippe Winter. Head chef here at Originale, and you are.”
Kay held up her badge, “Kay Daniels, FBI. We’re here about the four dead victims in your kitchen?”
“Yes, yes. Very tragic. Can you ensure they will be removed by tonight so I can get the kitchen ready by the morning?”
“Sir,” Mike said, “You don’t seem too broken up about this.”
“They were all just servers, Agent…”
“Alvarez.”
“Agent Alvarez. It’s very sad but I cannot let it slow down business. Especially since I have an important family dining at the end of the week.”
“Who?”
“The Blanc family.” Mike, Kay and Cameron’s eyes all widened as he went on, “Can you believe it? Even after the horrors their father and mother put them through, they continue to press on. It’s inspiring, really.”
“Yes…” Cameron replied, feeling his nose flair slightly, “Inspiring.”
(~**~)              (~**~)              (~**~)              (~**~)
“This can’t be a coincidence.” Cameron blurted out. “I mean, people die in a restaurant my sister’s in-laws are meant to make this big public appearance at and…” He sighed, “It just seems too easy.”
“I agree.” Kay spoke up, “It is too easy.” She placed a hand on his shoulder, “You better watch what you say Cam. If Deakins thinks you’re too close to the case to make impartial calls than she won’t hesitant removing you.”
Cameron took a deep breath, “You’re right… any news on our victims?”
“We’ve only been able to ID them. Veronica Lang, age 24, she was studying to be a photographer and worked part-time as a waitress while also supporting her eight-year-old son.”
“And the father?”
“Not in the picture but Veronica’s parents are both alive and well and she had two sisters and a brother so there will be someone to take care of the kid.”
Cameron let out a tiny sigh of relief, “Good.”
“Hassan Golbadi, age 32, worked part-time at Originale as well as worked for a limo company part-time to support his wife and two children.”
“How old?”
“One is five, the other is seven.” Cameron nodded as Kay continued, “Celina Waters, age 36, worked full-time to make some spending money for her kids.”
“She had kids too?” He grimaced.
“Four of them. Her husband’s on his way to identify her body.”
“Continue.”
“And Bernard Karwitz, age 28, has a three year old daughter with his girlfriend, Sara. Four victims… and their only connection to each other is the fact that they all worked at Originale…” She sighed, “And they all have children. We’re still waiting on reports from the morgue.”
Cameron ran a hand down his face, “All of them were so different yet so similar.”
“Question is, were they targeted or was it just them being in the wrong place at the wrong time?”
“And how were they killed? Because they clearly weren’t shot.”
A couple of hours went by and still nothing from the morgue and all Kay could get was statements from the victims’ families. When it was just her and Cameron in her office, Kay turned her head to him, “I don’t know about you but I could really use some peace and quiet.”
“And some wine?”
“Well, I was thinking scotch for your sake but since you offered.”
“I could ask Johnny to babysit tonight. It could be just you and me.”
Kay sighed as she gave him a tiny smile, “That would be nice.”
(~**~)              (~**~)              (~**~)              (~**~)
Cameron and Kay were meant to have a quiet and calm date night at Kay’s place… but after a bit of wine and officially being completely alone for the first time in a month, they quickly skipped dinner to be very alone in Kay’s bedroom.
Kay rested her head on Cameron’s chest as he had his arms around her and sighed contently. “That was amazing.” He smiled as he gently ran his hand through her hair. She smiled softly as she stroked his jaw line with her thumb.
Kay chuckled as she turn her head to the side to look at him, “It was. You certainly live up to the ‘Amazing’ in your name.”
“Agent Daniels” He smirked, “Are you flirting with me?”
“I might be…” She returned his smirk, “Got a problem with that?”
He grinned before pulling her in for another kiss, “Uh-uh.” They both laid back down when Cameron asked a bit of an unexpected question, “So do you have any thoughts about a date?” Kay let out a tiny sigh as she ran a hand through her hair, smoothing out the slight tangles that had formed “Hey…” Cameron gently pressed as he shifted slightly to properly face his fiancée, “Is there something wrong?” Kay bit her lip. Cameron gently brushed a strand of her hair behind her ear, “Is it about the wedding?”
Kay let out a sigh, “Not exactly…”
Cameron kept his gaze on her, “Is it about the wedding night?” He smirked as he leaned in to press his lips against hers, “Because if whatever we do then is anything close to what we just did a little while ago than I don’t think we have anything to worry about.”
That got a chuckle out of Kay as she lightly slapped his face, “No, you goof.” She sat up, keeping the blanket to her chest to keep her fiancé from getting distracted. “I mean, the day after the wedding… and all the days that come after that. Cameron, when we get married, it’s going to change our lives forever.” She noticed Cameron’s mouth form a tiny grin, “What?”
His grin only grew, “You said when we get married.”
Kay couldn’t help but smile herself, “I’m serious Cam… I mean, in all the excitement, we haven’t really talked about any of the… big things that come with being married.”
Cameron’s goofiness had faded as he furrowed his brows trying to figure out what she meant, “Like… moving in together? I mean, we practically do that anyway.”
“Well, yes but there’s also considering where we’ll live, do we want to get a bigger place? I know that we have to consider what’s best for Farrah and I love her to bits but what if we have more kids? Do we want to have more kids?”
Cameron let out a tiny laugh, “I guess those are important things to consider.” He gently pulled her into his arms and looked into Kay’s dark eyes as if doing so would give him all the safety he needed, “I honestly… never thought I’d be able to find someone as amazing as you that I would want to spend the rest of my life with so… I never really thought about having kids.”
Kay’s eyebrow quirked slightly in amusement, “Really? You never thought about it?”
He shook his head, “Not until we found Farrah.”
“What about now?”
He shrugged, “I don’t know… I mean I’d love to have kids with you one day, but only if you’d want kids too.” He took hold of her hand and intertwined their fingers, “Do you want kids?”
Kay smiled at him, “I guess the thought of having kids has always been in the back of my mind but because of work and… previous relationships not working out, I kind of put the thought to the sidelines.”
“And now?”
She gently stoked his cheek with her thumb, “Well, I don’t know if it’d be the smartest thing in the world to procreate with you-”
“Hey…” Cameron smirked, failing to sound offended.
“But I’m not against the idea.” She grinned as she pulled him in for another kiss. Her smile faltered slightly, “Do you… do you think I can do it?”
Cameron’s eyebrows furrowed slightly, “Do what?”
“The whole… I mean…” She placed her other hand on his cheek, “The whole… mom… thing, I guess.” Cameron rested his forehead against Kay’s as she continued, “I mean, you have this dad thing down to a T-”
“Hey…” He gently interrupted, “You of all people know that it wasn’t so natural for me at first. But I got the hang of it and…” He chuckled, “If I’m being honest, I can’t think of anyone better to be Farrah’s mom.”
“Don’t you mean-”
He smiled, “I know what I said.”
She rolled her eyes before she kissed him one last time, “I love you Cam.”
Cameron couldn’t wipe the giant smile on his face as they fell back against the pillows once again. As they settled in for some rest, he whispered, “I love you too Kay.”
(~**~)              (~**~)              (~**~)              (~**~)
The night after next, Dina had insisted that they all needed to have a quiet night as friends… meaning that in order peace and quiet the men and women were to have their own guys and girls night, respectively. The women would be in Kay’s apartment while the men went to the archive for the first time since their mystery woman went missing. If she wasn’t there then maybe they could finally return to their home once again.
“You sure you don’t want us to stay and help out with Farrah?” Jonathan asked as Farrah kept pulling on his hand, making little grunts when her uncle wouldn’t move from his seat.
“Oh, stop trying to worm your way into our girls’ night.” Dina smirked as she unpacked a grocery bag. “We need this Johnny… and you and Cameron need a night where you’re not watching a pumpkin turn into a carriage so I think watching horror movies with Gunter, Jordan and Mike is just what you two need.”
Jonathan snorted, “At least I’m not the one who hums Disney songs when he’s cleaning up.”
“Yeah, no, that’s very true” Cameron shrugged, “Unlike some people who sing them to get their niece to take a nap.”
“You of all people know how hard it is to get Farrah to take a nap.” Jonathan scooped up Farrah and pulled her in for a hug making her giggle, “You don’t like making things easy for us, do you Farrah?”
She lightly slapped his cheeks in response.
“Thanks for that Munchkin.”Jonathan chuckled, “Are you excited to be spending some time with your aunts?” Farrah leaned over and opened her mouth as she practically bonked her face against his cheek. Jonathan gave her a slight smirk, “Oh, she knows exactly what she’s doing.”
Dina chuckled, “And what’s that?”
“Every time she doesn’t want us to leave, she tries being extra cute and the worst part is… it usually works.” He gave his niece a stern look which only made her giggle more, “But not this time.” He got up from his seat and passed Farrah over to Dina who was more than happy to take the child into her arms, “You don’t get to win this round Farrah.”
Farrah turned her head to look at Jonathan as she stuck out her bottom lip. Dina laughed as she watched Jonathan try to hold his ground against his toddler niece, “Well, it seems she’s already learned how to manipulate men at a year three level.”
Kay walked out of her guest room and went towards Cameron, “Alright everything’s set up for Farrah in the guest bedroom. Whenever she needs to sleep, she’ll be fine here.”
“I could just come and pick her up at 9:00.” Cameron offered.
Kay shook her head, “You need this Cam. Farrah will be fine with us.” She noticed Cameron look over to Farrah who was babbling on about something to Dina and Dina was just eating it all up. Kay gave him a tiny smile, “If you want, I can text you a picture of Farrah every hour so you know for sure that she’s okay.”
Cameron gave a relieved smile, “That would be great.”
Just then there was a knock at the door. Jonathan got up from the couch, “I’ll get it. Everybody else is ignoring me, maybe there will be someone who I can actually have a conversation with.” Cameron chuckled and rolled his eyes at his brother’s comment. Jonathan opened the door to an unexpected surprise, “Lara?”
Lara let out a chuckle as she gripped the strap of her shoulder bag, “Jonathan.” She gave him a playful smirk, “You seem to be behind every door I knock on lately.”
Hey guys! Sorry to have been away for so long. I just… I wasn’t feeling the best. I just couldn’t get anything written, hopefully I’m past it but I make no promises. I hope this chapter was worth the wait and I hope you enjoyed it. If you did, please let me know what you thought, tell me your favourite part, what you think might happen, I want to hear it all! I hope you have an amazing day and I will see you guys next time!

Zoophobia Rewrite #3
Disclaimer,
This is not a series meant to critique vivziepop herself as, not sure if you noticed, zoophobia is kinda old. I personally believe that if we find flaws in media we enjoy, it can help us find flaws in our own work, and improve. This series is also my sad attempt to entertain people.
Zoophobia belongs to Vivziepop.
I apologize for wasting your time, and I hope you enjoy.
- ATOUN
--------------------------------------------
We start off our arc with Cameron attempting to sneak into school without being noticed. This fails as she runs into Malcolm and Percy. After being subjected to their torturous chatter, Zech comes to the rescue, requesting that Cameron come with him for a little chat.
Once they're alone, Zech makes a proposition to Cam; for the next couple months, he wants her to spend one or more days with each of the teachers. This will help Cam become more familiar (thus more comfortable ) with the staff and students. Cameron hesitantly agrees, telling herself she'll have to get used to this place somehow.
Since she's already met her (and thinks she's a human ), Cameron decides to spend the day with Jackie.
Cut to the drama class. Kayla and Zill have their little song, and during it, we get reactions from Cam and Jackie indicating how good they are. Jackie also brags a bit about her two "star students " to Cameron. Cameron, however, is slightly creeped out by Zill. It bugs her to not be able to identify what he is, and she ends up looking around the room for something else to look at. She decides to get some assignment sheets for Jackie, under the guise of being a helpful little assistant. Jackie agrees, sending Cam to fetch some papers for her next class that are located in the back row of the auditorium.
Cam goes to search for the papers, but bumps into....*gasp* everyone's favorite witch, Sahara. Yes folks, we're giving her some sort of introduction. She is sitting beside the papers cam needs, and cam needs to reach over her to get them. Seeing that Sahara is preoccupied reading a spell book, Cam attempts to reach over her without being noticed. This fails, causing the two to make eye contact, which freaks Cam out. Cam instinctively demands to know what Sahara is. Sahara is annoyed by this and basically says;
"Lady, I'm a fucking human. Calm your god Damn tits. What, you gonna give me shit for being a human? "
Of course, Cam reacts with "Oh thank fuck, another human " and kinda hugs Sahara, causing an awkward moment between the two. Cam composes herself, apologises, and asks about Sahara's book to lighten the mood. Sahara coldly explains that she considers herself a witch. To Sahara's surprise, Cam tells her that she thinks magic is cool, and says she bets that Sahara is really good at it. Sahara does brush this off, saying that she isn't actually that good, but she still appreciates the compliment and is even beaming somewhat.
Cam retreaves the papers for Jackie just as the duet between Zill and Kayla wraps up. The couple stare deeply into each other's eyes, totally not making out mentally. Suddenly, Damian materializes on the piano.
Quick thing here. In the Rewrite, there's a bit of an ongoing gag with Damian where he just kinda materializes out of thin air, and disappears in the same manner. Where'd he come from? Where'd he go? Where'd he come from Cotton eyed joe? Nobody knows. Weather he teleports, stealthily levitates around, or is just that good at sneaking up on people is anyone's guess.
Damian makes his bad attempt at flirting with Kayla. Kayla panics and, like the good Christian girl she is, proceeds to yeet herself away from the sinful demon. Zill snaps at Dame, telling him to fuck off, but Dame decides to be a shit and go "Je ne peux pas parler anglais "( I can't speak English ). Zill goes to punch him, only for Damian to disappear into thin air. Zill sighs in frustration and goes off to find and comfort Kayla.
Backstage, Jack, Spam, and Vanex watch what goes down between nacho cheese grape juice and the sinnimon roll from hell. Spam laughs, thinking that Dame's antics are funny, Vanex doesn't even seem to care, and just comments that the singing was "passable". Jack is face palming, and excuses himself to go apologize for Dames behavior. He is suddenly intercepted by the little devil child himself, who, once again, materializes out of thin air. Jack tries to call Damian out on his shit, but Damian brushes it off with his "Christian girls always give into temptation" speech from the OG. Jack respondes by asking Damian why Kayla would ever go out with a weirdo like him. Jack's back is turned to Dame, so he doesn't notice Damian pause for a moment, clearly displeased at being called weird, but he recovers quickly. He asks Jack if Zill is really a good boyfriend, and brings up Zill's womanizing past. Jack tries to tell Damian that Zill is twice the guy Dame will ever be, only for Damian to go "Btw, how long has it been since something fell on you? " Right on cue, a curtain falls on top of Jack.
Sahara rushes out, apologizing, and saying that her magic melted the curtain rod. Here, we get banter between her and Dame. Unlike Jack, Sahara calls Damian out successfully, which doesn't faze Damian in the least. Their banter ultimately amounts to "LOL, I'm a little shit""Trust me bitch, I know ". Sahara drags Damian offstage while Spam and Vanex help Jack.
Zill and Kayla are cuddling in each other's arms a little off to the side. Kayla apologises and says she'd be able to stand up to Damian, but for some reason, he creeps her out. Part of it may be due to his apparent ability to teleport. Zill reassures her that nothing Damian does will affect their relationship.
Meanwhile, Cameron and Jackie are discussing the upcoming talent show. Jackie invites Cameron to come help, and Cameron accepts, saying humans should stick together. We get the same reveal of Jackie being a bird as in the original because I'm not gonna lie, I love that part. And of course, Carrie is watching from the door. The class ends same way it does in the OG
Instead of Cameron's meeting with Carrie taking place a week later, we're pushing it to right now. As Cameron leaves the class, a wild Carrie appears. Here, we get the same convo between the two of them from the OG, however, the excuse Cameron gives is that she has to clean up her office instead of helping with the talent show. Carrie invites her to her part of the school whenever Cameron wishes to come over. We also meet Fabian in the same way we do in the OG.
Now onto the power couple. We get our conversation between Zill and Kayla where they have this dumb misunderstanding where Zill thinks Kayla is taking about the talent show when she's really talking about their anniversary. We all know how this song and dance go, so skip to Kayla's conversation with Vanex. Hold onto your trousers, folks, we're giving Vanex LINES. We're also trying to give a reason as to how Jack appears to be the only one who can tell Zill about this anniversary. When Kayla starts going on about how Zill is so great he could be the real Slim Shady(, so will he please stand up, ) Vanex sighs, and asks Kayla if she's "going to do the same thing she did last year". See, last year, Kayla obsessed over her and zill's anniversary, telling everyone about it and never shutting up about it. This caused Zill to panic while planning that anniversary since he wanted to meet kayla's expectations. This serves as a reflection of both characters.
Kayla admits that Vanex is right, and decides she'll just wait for Zill to surprise her and not put any pressure on him.
Cut to Zill and Jack talking. Jack realizes what's going on here, and is about to tell Zill his mistake. Buuut, somebody materializes behind Jack and keeps his mouth shut. When Zill asks Jack what he forgot, Dame, of course, pretends its about the talent show. However, Zill actually gets a shot in at Dame here. He asks Dame if he really thinks he'd get in with a petty fiddle solo. Now, this was actually Zill making a joke, referencing "Devil Goes Down to Georgia". But of course, as we learn from the Son of 666 film, we know how this would strike a nerve with Damian. For a second, he's outraged at Zill's comment, but quickly recovers, stating that he could win, no matter what he did.
You guys have probably noticed that I'm having a lot of characters make pot shots at Damian in this rewrite. This is because I'm using these moments to build up to Dame's eventual breakdown in the next chapter.
So Zill wanders off, still unaware of his mistake. Jack starts yelling at Damian, and they get in a bit of an argument. Jack, understandably, is pissed, and calls Damian's actions selfish and uncaring. Damian, however thinks the entire thing would be hilarious. He tries to get Jack to go along with the joke, stating that if Kayla was out of the picture, Jack and Zill could go back to the way they were before. Jack asks Damian if he is so inhuman that he can't think of anyone but himself. The "inhuman " comment finally seems to make Damian snap, and he throws Jack into a locker, planning to have him stay locked in there for an entire week.
Later that day, Cameron decides to visit Carrie. This is a conscious decision she makes since she knows she'll have to eventually get used to the place. She mosies on over to Carrie's place, only to get almost killed by Carrie's pet unicorn, Brutus. Cam passes out. Carrie sighs, and begrudgingly carries Cam back home, praising Cam for her efforts under her breath.
Now, hop into your time machines, everyone! Onto next week.
Cameron is neurotic and is looking over her shoulder constantly, believing that Brutus will come after her. Walking into the try outs, we get the Gustav and Mackenzie scene. I'm making it so that Gustav is somewhat discriminatory towards humans (ch5 seems to imply that this sort of discrimination exists ). He greets Cameron rudely, and, of course, kicks Mackenzie off stage, referring to her as an it. Gustav is only discriminatory towards those who are fully human. Shapeshifters or wild Addisons do not count. Just clearing that up.
Nathan acts as the opposite to Gustav's ideas, and it's clear they have some history or relationship with each other, but Nathan is more of a marshmallow, so Gustav almost always gets his way around him.
After the Mackenzie scene, Cameron is introduced to Gustav and Nathan, and when their done, Gustav calls Next! but there is already someone on stage. Sahara is bored and leaning on her cauldron, texting. When she realizes that everyone is staring at her, she straight up sasses Gustav. She asks is she'll get kicked off for no reason as well by some over privileged snakey fucker who clearly has no fashion sense, and who clearly doesn't have the maturity to handle judging kids who just want to preform. Gustav is insulted, and Jackie cuts in, trying to diffuse the situation by having Sahara do her magic. Sahara asks them to hang on as two of her friends are texting her. Here, Addison is name dropped (and his name gets Gustav's attention ). He's apparently trying to ask Sahara where the fuck Damian went as he's been "acting wierd for the past week"
After Sahara's failure of a performance, Gustav make a snide comment about humans which Jackie reprimands him for. We get the convo between Zill and Sahara where Sahara reveals everything. But how does she know about the anniversary? Because of the other person she was texting. Damian.
See, Damian "just so happened to be passing by kayla's house " and he "just so happened to glance in the window and see Kayla sitting all alone by herself " and he felt "so sorry for her since it was her and her boyfriend's anniversary and he didn't seem to care." So when Sahara sees zill, her reaction is "WTF why are you not celebrating your anniversary with your girl?"
Zill realizes his mistake, but it's too late once he gets to Kayla's home. Kayla is suspicious and asks where he's been and Zill sheepishly confesses what happened. They have there breakup, and Zill walks home sadly.
The next morning we cut to Cameron standing in front of Carrie's door. She's hesitant to come in, and jumps when Carrie suddenly opens the door. Turns out Carrie saw Cameron outside her window and came down to let her in. She reassures Cam that she'd never eat her (she's waaaaaay to skinny to be nutritious) and invites her in, offering some whisky. Cameron declines, saying she doesn't drink, and Carrie asks about the talent show. Cameron actually found the entire thing to be terrifying because animals, but she tells Carrie that it was.... interesting. Carrie says "well at least you enjoyed it. Some people didn't seem to have the same reaction. "
Cue the classroom scene with unhappy go-unlucky boi, sad nacho cheese grape juice and the sinnimon roll from hell. Jack is concerned about Zill, but his comforting is interrupted by Damian's "Oh he's so broken "thing. However, Damian does this in more of a drama queen fashion, basically mocking Zill's attitude. Jack loses it and asks Dame what his problem is and if he is so devoid of empathy that he cares nothing about anyone but himself. Damian pretends to not know what Jack is talking about, and Jack ends up yelling at him in frustration that the next time Damian complains that not many people hang out with him, Jack will remind him of this. This causes the teacher to yell at them so now all three bois are unhappy. Jack however continues to comfort Zill, promising that Kayla will forgive him. Also, in this version, Zill is in the middle so Jack and Dame can be doing a wierd version of Angel on one shoulder, devil on the other.
Cut to fencing class. Kayla is clearly still upset and takes it out on people through fencing, but it isn't just because of the anniversary. Kayla wonders to herself if Zill had found someone better than her to replace her with.
You've all probably noticed that I've been bringing up Zill's past as a ladies man a lot. Since we've already learned in this version about it in the previous chapter, why not do something with it? Have it be something shady Zill regrets doing, but also something that bothers Kayla since it makes her fear that one day he'll find a girl better than her and go back to his old ways.
After class, Zill desperately tries to win back Kayla, but to no avail. Suddenly, everyone's favorite windy bird shows up. Horris demands a duel, but Zill tells him that he doesn't have time and that even if he beat him, no one would bow down and worship some crazy nutcase. Horris, however, persists in his demand and eventually, Zill snaps. Unfortunately, their fighting attracts the attention of Vagenza and Simon.
Meanwhile, Carrie and Cameron are walking outside, discussing some of the acts in the try outs, but are interrupted when Cameron looks up and freezes. Carrie asks what's wrong, but Cam faints. Looking up herself, while we don't see what's up there, Carrie does and picks up Cam and runs off to yell at the students to hide and to warn Zechariah.
Zill is to preoccupied with Horris to realize what's going on. It's only when Horris yelps and hides behind him that Zill looks up and he (and us, the audience ) see Vagenza standing (....flying? ) right in front of them.
Zill panics and zips towards the school to hide, only for Simon to pounce on him and hold him down. He also bites Zill on the arm. Vagenza is about to finish him off when da-duh-duh-DAAAA, it's Super Kayla to the rescue. Using her sword from fencing, she pokes Simon in the nose and distracts Vagenza. After Simon gets off him, Zill hurls a fire ball at Vagenza to keep her off of Kayla. Vagenza is about to attack, but is ambushed by Carrie, who ties her up. Fabian pounces on and holds down Simon. Vagenza manages to elbow Carrie in the face and escape. Simon almost ends up following his mistress to freedom, only for Zechariah to block his path, punch him, and knock him out.
Zech tells Kayla and Zill that the teachers have this under control, and that Kayla should get Zill to the nurse's office. While helping him up, Zill has this "you saved me" moment while Kayla says something along the lines of "well no shit Sherlock. You think I'd let someone kill you?" They stare at each other for a bit, and kiss, making up.
Some of the other students are emerging from hiding. Jack stumbles out of a locker, muttering "the fuck is it with me and lockers?" He looks for Dame, thinking "Oh shit, where's my bratty baby cousin, he was right beside me, this is not a good." Only for Damian to fall out of a trash can because he is secretly trash. They both see Kayla and Zill, and Jack turns triumphantly towards Damian like "haha! Your evil plan failed! " Damian looks disappointed for a moment, but, as usual, recovers quickly. He stands up and just casually says "gee, those two should get a room."
Jack is astonished that Dame can just act like nothing happened after everything. Damian walks off, and the chapter ends with a shocked and angry Jack staring after him.

The Game // [1]
Summary: Tom Holland, Harrison Osterfield, and Jacob Batalon started a game back when they first began filming Spider-Man: Homecoming—to sleep with as many different extras as possible before the movie premiered. Their current targets are the ladies of the band Navy Skies, a ragtag group of young adults that were blessed with the opportunity to play in the homecoming dance scene. Fed up with the boys’ sick game, Laura and Zendaya are taking bets on who gets their heart broken first.
Pairing: fuckboy!Tom x OC, fuckboy!Harrison x OC, fuckboy!Jacob x OC, hints of TomDaya
Words: 2643
Inspo: Kick It // Neck Deep
Disclaimer: Lyric graphics were created by me, y’all. I’m not saying don’t steal it cause they’re not that impressive tbh but like don’t steal them.
Life was a pretty simple concept. Some people really wanted to complicate things and find deeper meanings within it, but at the end of the day, all there really was to it was to ensure you were living your best life. Dream big, work hard, and don’t allow anybody to take that from you. At least, this was the mentality that Cameron Lucia had adopted at a young age. She never let things like friends and family keep her planted in one spot. If they were truly family, they would never hold Cam back from chasing her dreams.
Or best case scenario, they came with her wherever she went; entirely inspired from her nomadic, carefree spirit. That was the situation she was currently in, anyway. At the ripe age of twenty four, Cameron and three of her closest friends she had met at her day job ended up packing up with her and moving out of state. It wasn’t that far fetched, or so she believed. The four of them had formed a band on top of their friendship and collectively decided they were going to move closer towards the music scene in Nashville, Tennessee in hopes of getting their big break. But after long debates about cost of living and not wanting to lose their city charm, the four of them settled on living in a northern suburb just outside of Atlanta.
The four of them had been living in their spacious, two bedroom apartment for the last six months and were still loving every second of it. Cameron always thought it was funny that people assumed they would be tearing out each others hair being in a band, living, and working together. With all of their different personality harmonizing, she knew they would prove everybody wrong.
The youngest of the group was Malachi, or Mac as he preferred, was freshly twenty one. Though lazy, he was the star socialite of the bunch. His charisma made their lives easier when it came to booking shows and just being the go-to person to have a one on one talk with. Ruby was the second youngest, but also held a very mature composure due to growing up way too soon—taking on the role of ‘Momma Bear’. Her incredible work ethic helped put all of Cameron’s dreams into motion. Danielle, or Dani, was a mere week younger than Cam and always focused on getting shit done, but they never held her back from being the life of the party. Cam was clearly the dreamer—always comping up or collaborating with her group of friends on proposing new insane schemes.
Together they supported each other in any which way they could, whether it be financially or trying to rationalize whatever impossible dream came to Cameron’s mind. They always started off crazy, like when she started booking their band at every single bar that she could possibly find in downtown Atlanta. They always ended up working out in mysterious ways, like when booking agents and producers wanted to feature Navy Skies in an upcoming unknown film right here in Atlanta. They couldn’t pass the opportunity up.
That chance brought them to where they were today, sitting in make up getting their hair done for their brief cameo on this unknown film project. Cam, Ruby, and Dani did their own make up at their own request. Since Mac had a buzz cut and the girls were only getting their hair done, he took the liberty to get his make up done, enjoying getting pampered with the miniscule amount of make up they gave him. “It feels like a facial that I so desperately need.” He laughed, causing his friends to laugh with him.
The band was called to set, and they followed a stagehand down the hallway of the school they were filming in, and entered the gymnasium. Heads turned upon the group entering—everybody was dressed in semi-formal attire while a banner that read ‘Homecoming’ hung behind the stage. That explained why the outfit selection they were all given were all dresses and dress pants.
“So for you guys, we don’t need anything super directive.” The stagehand said. “Think of this as a recording session, we’ll ring an alarm when we need you to kill the sound completely.” He explained that the amplifiers were going to be kept to a minimum; just loud enough to be ambient noise but not enough to overpower any dialogue. They were only required to do a half hour set, and none of the band mates didn’t have to talk throughout the set as they normally would have for a show.
“Okay, cool. Let’s get set up.” Said Ruby as they got on stage and unloaded their instruments. Cam set up all the microphones while Dani assembled her drum kit, and Mac and Ruby tuned their bass and guitars respectively. The gymnasium was packed with unknown people pretending to be students. If anyone would have known any of them, it would have been Malachi. But the only one he had recognized in the crowd was Zendaya, which was enough to leave Mac the slightest bit starstruck.
The experience was actually pretty cool and almost felt like a real show to the band. The fake students bopped along and some even danced with each other. When cameras weren’t zoomed in on actors, whom Navy Skies assumed to be major characters of the film, said actors were dancing amongst themselves and just being goofy. Zendaya was swinging along with the people she had grown close to over the duration of them film—Harrison, Jacob, and Laura. “Hey, these guys are pretty good.” Z said as she danced with Harrison. The students in the crowd were yelling along and cheering on the band, nearly forgetting they were extras in a film. Jacob and Harrison were no exceptions to Navy Skies’ hypnotism as they paused their movements for a brief moment. Jacob nudged Harrison, a knowing look in his eyes with a devilish smirk on his lips.
“Who you calling dibs on, mate?” Haz asked, reciprocating his friends now wicked features.
“I like the little blonde one on drums.”
“Perfect, I’m digging the guitarist.” He said, staring at the girl with a curly pixie cut. Harrison’s eyes were immediately drawn to the tattoos that covered both arms from shoulder to wrist. Zendaya and Laura rolled both of their eyes.
“Are you guys playing your stupid game again?” Laura asked. The boys just grinned in affirmation. See, since the beginning of the filming Spider-Man: Homecoming, Jacob, Harrison, and Tom started an unnamed game to see which of them could sleep with the most extras from the set. Right now, Harrison was the front runner, despite being an extra himself.
“I’m going to laugh so hard when this stupid game blows up in your face.” Zendaya sneered, a sly grin on her face at the mere thought.
“How do you figure?” Jacob asked. “They’re extras, they’re here for like a day and then it’s like it never even happened.”
“One of you guys are going to fall for your flings, and then she’s going to find out she was just a part of some stupid game and hopefully she puts your asses in place.” Laura added, taking a firm stance with Zendaya that what they were doing was wrong on so many levels. “You guys need a reality check.”
“Nah, that won’t happen.” Both Harrison and Jacob said in unison, their eyes focused on their targets. No, it wouldn’t happen.
Navy skies finished their half hour set with the alarm buzzing within in the gymnasium, signaling that sounded needed to cease. After setting down their instruments, the band mates took a seat off the edge of their stage, taking a drink from the water bottles provided from the film crew. Each of them were panting slightly, covered in a thin film of sweat from having to continuously perform. “I think we sounded pretty great.” Cam said as she tried to catch her breath. The band talked amongst themselves, only pausing when they noticed the same stagehand from before walking up to them. Behind him stood Zendaya and the people she was dancing with earlier in the scene, plus one more that none of them recognized.
“Hey guys, everything sounded amazing! But the cast was wondering if you could play an encore show? We’ll make it worth your while.”
“Keep talkin’.” Dani said, immediately switching to hardball mode despite being the smallest member of the band.
“We were thinking of tossing you guys an extra grand?”
“What?! Hell yes!” Mac screeched before the band could discuss it. Which, in any other circumstance would have angered the girls, it weren’t for the fact that they just earned five grand off of a show that didn’t require them to put a down payment for the venue. There was no argument to even be had.
“I guess that’s a yes.” Cam laughed. “But can we get a couple minutes to cool off?”
“Oh yes, of course. Take a breather, you guys can go change back into your street clothes if you want. I’ll let you guys know when you go on and you can treat it like a real show this time—no cameras.” The stagehand walked away, leaving the band to head off in the direction of the dressing room they had used earlier to change back into more comfortable clothes.
While the cast waited by the stage, Harrison and Jacob got Tom up to speed, letting him know who claimed who so far. “I guess that leaves me with the singer, is it?” He asked, staring at the girl with incredibly long brunette hair as the band returned to the gymnasium. Even in a simple baseball tee and ripped jean shorts, the front woman’s tattoos were the most noticeable features about her. They covered every visible inch of her arms and hands, even up her neck. He wondered what other parts of her body were tattooed. Tom, unfortunately, had been filming a different scene and didn’t get to see the band play. But judging from Harrison and Jacob’s infatuation with them, they must have left some kind of impression. With a couple of strings being pulled, Tom was able to get them to put on an encore show.
The band returned to the stage, trading in their dresses for ripped jeans and solid tees and looking much more relaxed. The cast walked up towards the stage, Zendaya being the first to break the ice and introduced herself to the band. “Hey, guys. We just wanted to say how much we all loved hearing you guys play and hope you don’t mind that we asked the film crew to have you guys play an encore.” She said, gesturing to herself and Laura and the boys. “I’m Zendaya, and this is Laura.”
“Oh, party. Mac, I’m the bassist.” The only male member shook both of the ladies’ hands firmly.
“Ruby, guitar.” She gave a slight wave to everyone. Harrison’s mouth twitched with the slightest smile as his target introduced herself.
“Dani, drums.” The petite blonde gave an awkward wave.
“And I’m Cameron.” One by one, the boys learned their prey’s names. It was officially game on now.
“I’m Tom, lovely to meet you, darling. I play Spider-Man.” He held his hand out to Cam, awaiting for her to shake it. Instead, the band all looked at each other before letting out a collective laugh. Tom looked at them confusedly, retracting his still empty hand. “What’s so funny?”
“We’ve been trying to figure out what movie we were going to be in for the last month.” Ruby said, still chuckling. The collective group shared a laugh briefly. As they waited around for the encore show to start, the group chatted amongst themselves, the boys buttering up their marks while Mac, Z, and Laura hung out.
“So, Spider-Man, is it?” Cam asked, her natural teasing tone coming through as she spoke to Tom.  “How did you land that role?” He laughed, answering with charm that he usually reserved for interviews. Cam was nodding along, showing she was listening.
“How long have you lot been in a band?” Tom fired back, his British accent resurfacing as he pulled himself out of character for the day. He knew he needed to keep his questions as innocent as possible to earn the trust of his prey before he could corner her and go in for the kill. Though she had answered, he hadn’t quite heard it due to focusing on his own thoughts more than their conversation.
The stagehand came back, clipboard in hand along with four sealed envelopes that he distributed to each of them. “You all ready to go?” He asked, looking at Navy Skies. They all nodded before hopping back up from their seats on the stage, getting ready for round two. By now, all of the actors, main crew and extras, gathered around.
“Ready guys?” Cam asked into the microphone while looking at her band mates.
“Let’s kick it!” Malachi enthused, signaling their start to a newer alternative set list that they had been working on in recent months. Cheers amongst the crowd erupted as heavy, fast paced chords blared along the amplifiers—this time at full volume. The cast took immediate notice to their stage presence, seeing how Mac and Ruby were in six with little head bangs as Cameron walked the length of the stage. She crouching real low to be face to face with the front row that was made up of Laura, Harrison, Jacob, Zendaya, and Tom before walking up beside Ruby. As she wrapped an arm around her guitarist, harmonizing their siren song as they sang out their next verse.
Tumblr media
Cameron took back center stage, opening her arms wide while her bassist and guitarist joined in for the last line. The final words lingered before rapidly moving onto their next song. It was no help that Zendaya and Laura were looking at the boys, each of them unknowingly jumping along to foreshadowing words.
Tumblr media
“Do you think they’ve realized?” Laura asked, yelling into her friends ear to be heard over the music. Zendaya shook her head.
“Definitely not. These girls don’t even know them and they’re calling their shit out.”
“Wanna make a little wager?” Zendaya raised her eyebrows, giving Laura an intrigued smile. “I’m betting all of them are going to fall for their targets. Whoever loses has to be the one to tell the girls they’re just another name to add to their list.”
“I’m betting Harrison falls for his.” She replied with a deep set smirk on her lips. Honestly, it didn’t really matter who won this bet—Z was just excited to see someone break it to them that they couldn’t just run around doing this to poor, unsuspecting girls. They had learned to tune out Laura and herself after the game had been established.
“Harrison? He’s the one winning their stupid thing!” Laura said in disbelief.
“Well, let’s get real, Jacob’s girl seems like she would only go for a one night stand.” At Zendaya’s statement, their eyes turned to the drummer. “And I could see Harrison falling for a girl like her. He’s the only one who’s got a real chance of being heartbroken.” She said, discreetly pointing to Ruby.
“What about Tom?” Laura asked.
“Please, Tom may be a participant in this silly game, but he’s in dead last and he would never fall for a girl like that.” There was the slightest sneer in Z’s tone as they glanced at the lead singer. “Besides, we all know I’m the one he falls asleep with at night.”

Night Out
A/N: Melissa has given birth, Caleb, Cam and Benny are home with the kids while Alaina takes Melissa out and Mana Hanna and Mama Katheryn spend time together.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"This place is nice," Melissa gushed looking around the Italian restaurant.
"Yeah it's one of Luca's."
Melissa raised her brow. "Mitch's uncle? If he shows up I'm callin' Mama and I'm tellin'."
"Hush up, snitch. Luca knows I'm here but he won't tell Mitch. He knows how I feel."
"So what exactly is going on with you and Mr. Malone?"
Alaina waited until their waiter sat the entrees in front of them and walk away before she answered her sister's question.
"We're co-parenting. He finally understands what I was saying," Alaina explained, "We agreed that once he's done with this mob shit that we can revisit a relationship if I still want to."
"What do you mean if? You are so in love with his dumbass," Melissa laughed.
Alaina couldn't help but laugh along with her. She tried not to but she knew Melissa was right.
"I am but I can't be with him while he's doing this and I don't want Treasure to think it's okay. Ya know?"
"Yeah," she nodded. "I don't even know why he went back to that family. I thought Benny was dumb but sheesh."
"Mitch is very loyal. You play to his emotions and he'll agree. How the hell you think Mitch got caught up in Benny's shit?"
The sisters went on with their conversation steering away from heavy issues onto much lighter conversation. Whenever they were together they could talk for hours and laugh. Anyone that didn't know them would swear they are blood sisters.
"Excuse me, I am sorry to interrupt."
Melissa sucked her teeth looking up at the man who approached their table. "Then why did you?"
Alaina reached across the table to hit her sister's arm. "Excuse her. She doesn't like to be interrupted while she eats. Is there something we can help you with, Mr. President?"
"Please, I'm not President yet, call me Charles." He smiled as he extended his hand to Alaina.
Tumblr media
"Okay so what can we do for you, Charles?"
"I was on my way out and I couldn't help but notice you," he trailed off waiting for her name.
"It's Alaina and she has two kids. But very single."
"Melissa," Alaina groaned in embarrassment.
Charles laughed watching the sister bicker in front of him. He thought it was cute to see how flustered and embarrassed Alaina got.
"Its fine, its fine. Kids dont bother me, I think they're a blessing. And if yours look anything like you then I bet they're gorgeous children."
"If you don't go home with him then I will," Melissa laughed.
She was now more interested in the way Charles spoke and looked to her sister. It seemed to her that Alaina was enjoying it as well and not because this man could quite possible become the president. She couldn't wait to tell their the guys and Mama.
One of Charles' guards came up to him whispering in his ear then took a small step back.
Charles smiled now looking at both sisters. "I have to go but I hope to see you around, Miss Alaina."
"You want her number," Melissa asked happily. Alaina groaned giving her a side eye.
"I can get it. Expect to hear from me soon. Enjoy your evening ladies."
The girls watched him walk away until he was out of the restaurant then squealed as quietly as they could
"The fucking president just hit on you, Lainey. You went from a mobster to a fucking president."
Alaina shushed her sister, trying to avoid stares from other patrons.
"He did not, Mel. He was just speaking probably trying to get votes."
"Girl, please. He does not need to do that for votes, everyone already loves him."
After dinner, Melissa decided they should forgo the club and go on back home. They both missed their babies and Melissa had started to leak. When they got to the house Alaina went to check her sleeping kids while Melissa fed her baby, joining the men afterwards.
"How was dinner?"
"It was good, Cam. We went to Luca's place." Alaina said thinking about her leftovers.
"Oh yeah, haven't been there in so long," Caleb added with a laugh, "Was the old man there?"
Alaina shook her head explaining that he had other plans. Melissa started to get antsy as she sat next to Benny. Her leg bounced up and down, she couldn't stop it.
"Baby, you good?" Benny asked putting his hand on her knee.
"Ugh. Lainey acting like she didn't get hit on by the President. He came to our table and was drooling all over her." Melissa gushed excitedly.
Caleb frowned looking over at his daughter. "President of what? A company or something?"
"No, Pop. Like that lives in the white house. Charles Federickson hit on Lainey." She explained. "I offered to give him her number and was all I can get it myself. It was sooo cute."
All three men turned their attention to Alaina, who was playing with her fingernails trying to fight the smile on her face.
"I know I got cute kids but damn, Lainey. The president," Caleb laughed.
"She ain't all that cute," Benny added.
"Apparently Charles thought she was cute enough."
Melissa got up to high five Caleb. They ventured into their own conversation about Alaina's encounter with Charles. Alaina listened to bits and pieces but she was distracted my a text she received.
I hope I didn't come on too strong, I just believe in speaking up
Who is this?
She already knew who it was but she wanted him to tell her himself.
How many men approached you? Lol.
It's Charles, beautiful
Oh ... you got my number how?
I'm about to be President, Alaina. I have all sorts of information at my fingertips
I think that's abuse of power, Charles I don't think that's why they gave you the information
Well this can be our little secret
Hmm ... I guess I can keep you're secret
If you're not busy, I'd love to see you tonight
I'll come to you if you'd like
Alaina left him on read once she heard Cameron call her name. It was then that she noticed Caleb, Benny and Melissa had left the room. She raised her brows for him to go on.
"I support you but be careful. Anything seem off, get outta there and let me know. Okay?"
She smiled at his overprotectiveness. "Okay, Cam. I love you."
"Love you too." He kissed her cheek before leaving the room.
She bit her lip deciding on what to text him back. Her kids were sleeping and were gonna stay anyway, going out for an hour or so wouldn't hurt.
Where can I meet you?
I'll send a car for you, it'll be there in 10 ..

Closer: Chapter 15
A couple of hours later, I was sitting at my desk, my interaction with Negan playing on a constant loop in my head. Ultimately, he had let me go without protest, trusting that I would come back to him…and vowing to find me if I didn’t show later tonight. But I would come back to him. After the last couple of weeks, I was tired of denying myself what I wanted, of telling myself that I didn’t deserve an extraordinary life. I deserved something more than the mundane existence I had been living the last few years. I deserved a real life, a full life. And maybe, if things worked out, Negan could be a part of that life.
As I considered a future with him, my phone began to vibrate in my pocket. Pulling it out, I saw it was a number I didn’t recognize, but decided to answer it anyway.
“Hello?”
Brief static followed, then a female voice I didn’t know. “Hello, is this Carson Gardner?”
Thinking it was just some creditor, I replied cordially, but also ready to hang up the phone. “Yes, it is. May I ask who’s calling?”
“I’m an ER nurse at the regional hospital. Your brother Cameron was in a car accident and we need you to come down immediately.”
Hearing my brother’s name and the words “car accident” in the same sentence nearly caused my world to come crashing down. Almost immediately, I felt tears welling up in my eyes, ready to fall at any second, at the confirmation that he was—
“Is— is he alive?” I stuttered. The words felt like poison in my mouth.
“Oh yes, of course he is!” the nurse said. “He has a broken arm and some bumps and bruises, along with a possible concussion, so we would like to keep him a few hours for observation. He does have an IV, just because he was a tad dehydrated when he came in. Other than that, he should be fine.”
Relief washed over me, now that I knew he was going to be okay. I ended my call and explained to my manager that there had been a family emergency and I needed to leave. As I walked out the building and to my car, the presence of my wolf caused me to come to screeching halt in the middle of the parking lot.
Negan, she thought, it coming out like a whine, longing for him. You promised, she directed at me.
I shook my head and continued walking to my car. I had promised Negan that I would come back to him tonight, but right now, my brother needed me. I just hoped that Negan would understand.
                                                         ............
About an hour later, I walked into one of the rooms in the ER to find my brother laying in a bed, twirling his IV tube, while shamelessly flirting with a nurse. The site alone was funny, but it was a relief as well. He was going to be okay and was already exhibiting his normal behavior. Cameron hadn’t noticed my presence yet, so I leaned on the door frame, taking him in. His left arm was in a cast in a sling. I could see a few scratches on the left side of his face, but other than that, he was relatively unharmed. What if it had been a lot worse…if something would have happened to him…
The nurse’s laugh brought me out of my “what if” thinking. I focused myself in the present, listening to their conversation.
“You know, I’m in a rock band,” he drawled. I snickered at his cheesy pick up line, and immediately, he looked at me. He glared at me, his eyes silently saying “don’t ruin this for me” but as soon as he looked away, so did the nurse. She excused herself and left the room.
Cameron sighed in frustration. “Seriously Carse? I was this close to getting her number!” He put his thumb and pointer finger closely together to illustrate.
I scoffed. “Seriously Cam? You were just in a car accident and all you can think about is getting laid?”
He didn’t respond, but his eye roll was evidence enough that he was annoyed. I brushed it off and crossed my way to him, sitting on the edge of his bed. He was still fiddling with his IV tube, so I took his hand in both of mine.
“I’m…I’m glad you’re okay Cam,” I said, my voice filling with emotion. He caught onto my tone almost immediately.
“Hey, none of that “what if you would have died” shit. I’m okay. Sore as hell, but I’m okay.” He squeezed my hand reassuringly. I nodded my head but remained silent. One thing about my brother was that he didn’t like to dwell on the bad things that happened. So I restrained myself from saying anything that he would consider negative. I thought I’d try and lighten the mood.
“By the way, you had no chance in hell with that nurse. And I can’t believe that nearly thirteen years later, you’re still using the musician line.”
He scoffed playfully at me. “I totally had a chance with her! And my method of flirting with a beautiful woman is none of your concern. Speaking of romance…” he trailed off, meeting my eyes. “How’s your Great?”
It was my turn to roll my eyes and I let go of his hand, placing both of mine in my lap. I thought about changing the subject, but in all honesty, I needed a space to talk through my feelings about Negan.
“Tell me about him,” my brother continued, after a moment of silence. “What’s his name?”
I sighed, knowing that once I answered, there was no going back. “Negan. His name’s Negan.”
He furrowed his brow for a minute, contemplating something in his head. “So…what would be your ship name?” He asked, completely serious.
I couldn’t help but laugh and after a moment, Cameron joined me. He only laughed for a few seconds before stopping to groan.
“Yeah, sore as hell. Don’t make me laugh. But tell me about this guy!”
“He’s…” I paused, trying to discover the right words that would capture Negan. Simple adjectives didn’t seem to measure up.
“Negan is…a lot of things. He’s charismatic and charming. But he’s also incredibly difficult, sees things very black and white, like his way is the only right way. He can be a bit of an asshole, but there’s something about him…there’s something in him that’s pulling me to him,” I concluded, thinking I summed up Negan’s complexity rather well, leaving out specific details about his supernatural nature.
Cameron nodded. “And how do you feel about him, like really feel about him?”
I thought for a moment. “I don’t know. But I do know that I’m scared.”
“Scared of him?”
“No,” I answered. “I’m scared because I’ve never felt anything like this before. Hell, I didn’t know it was even possible for me to feel like this. I’m scared because I don’t know what to do. The thought of letting him in terrifies me. Because if I let him in, show him the real me…I’m just scared of losing him,” I admitted.
And I was. Trying to make sense of my feelings about Negan revealed to me that I was scared of losing him. Even more so, I was absolutely terrified of the fact that I was scared to lose him, because it meant that I felt something for him. My wolf’s urges were primal, purely a physical need for him—but my feelings were my own to decipher and were on a deeper level.
Cameron tilted his head. “Why would you lose him?”
“I…don’t know,” I replied lamely. But I knew what I really thought, and so did my brother. He knew me too well.
“Carson, if there is one thing you’ve always been, it’s insecure. What you just said, it’s because you’re scared that you won’t be enough for him. That’s the only reason why you think you would lose him. But let me tell you a little secret. Us guys? We don’t ever think that a girl isn’t good enough for us. Hell, if anything, we’re thinking that we’re the ones who don’t deserve her. Have you ever considered that?”
I shrugged. “No, but…”
He shook his head before I could continue. “No buts. It’s true, at least from my experience. And here is what’s going to happen when you let him in: he’s going to find out how freaking amazing you are. He’s going to fall head over freaking heels for you.”
I smirked at the thought of Negan feeling that strongly for me. Maybe it was possible.
Cameron yawned and groaned in discomfort simultaneously. I figured that after what happened, he needed a break.
“Hey, I’m going to go and see what horrible food they have in the cafeteria. Do you want anything?”
“Depends. Do you think they have any IPAs?” he asked.
I rolled my eyes. “Get some rest, Cam.” I stood up from his bed to leave, but not before leaning over him and kissing his cheek.
“I’m glad you’re okay,” I said once again. He looked up at me and gave me a lopsided grin before closing his eyes and dozing off.
A/N: More of Carson’s backstory in the next chapter! Please let me know what you think of this series so far :)

SUMMARY: YOU FOUND OUT YOU’RE PREGNANT AND FILM GRAYSON’S REACTION FOR HIS FANS.
WC: 2.6K
Tumblr media
I took a rather deep breath and focused my attention at the camera that Cameron was holding towards me and clicked start. I was anxious and terrified at first since I was camera shy, never been in one before and of course I have never done something like that before alone. I saw Cameron making me a sign to talk so with another breath I started.
“Hey, guys. Y/N, here. I know this might seem extremely odd for you and rather confusing but I promise you that this video is very important for us and for you all. I like to say that Grayson and Ethan have no idea that I will be doing this and I want to thank Cameron for helping me film it. Also, please forgive me if I seem weird and funny. That is the first time that I am talking to a camera and it’s really weird for me too.” I started and gave a weak smile towards it.
“Since I started dating Grayson I was welcomed to this fandom with open arms and I find it really important since you have such a big impact to his life some myself as long as I am besides Grayson and Ethan of course I will be happy to call you my family too, because that’s what you are guys. A family. So, whatever I am about to share on this video is as much important to you as it for me. Before, I say so I would like to say that the matter is rather crucial, important and it will be life changing. For us and for you too, probably.”
I looked down at my fingers that hold the small box and sighed. I lifted it to the camera view and gave a small sad smile.
“For you who might not understand what this is lwt me explain it to you. It’s a pregnancy box. Yes, you heard it right. It’s a pregnancy box. And you will be asking why the hell do you want it for? Well, I have a big feeling that I might be pregnant which is socking for you and for me. Some of you might say that what the hell did that happen or you guys are young and all or you should have be protective and all these stuff so I will explain myself and answer them all.”
I made myself more comfortable at the stool that I was seating on the bathroom. I crossed my legal and hugged myself, a gesture i always made while I was shy and nervous at the same time.
“Making love is not a crime and I want you all to remember it. It’s something that God created and it brings happiness and pleasure to a person and of course age doesn’t matter when both partners decide to take that step in their relationship. Me and Grayson, I know we are only seventeen, but felt both ready to complete that part too. Before you started accusing us as irresponsible and careless I want to defend myself and say that we were indeed careful, responsible and protective every time but as you all might know protection doesn’t always work and only has 90 percent chance of working. And this time it might be of that ten percent which didn’t work.”
I stopped again making a big agonizing pause and felt myself suffocating. I felt a hand on top of mine and I knew that it was Cameron’s. “Hey, you got this.” She encouraged me and slightly patted my cheek and I smiled.
I looked up at the waiting camera trying to finish my monologue. “I want to state that I am against abortion and adoption. I love babies to the fullest and you can tell that I have a baby fever since I was a child. Whatever this stick shows me today, positive or negative, the result would be the same for me. And I have a feeling that Grayson has the same belief. We never talked about having babies any tine soon but I know God has a plan for every single one of us so I will stick with this. I will go and get done this and let you rest from my boring and stupid voice. So, let’s do this.”
Cameron walked outside and turned off the camera while I did my business. After I was done she came back inside and we stood by the large bath tub and she returned on the camera. I put the stick further away from me nearer Cam and tried to focus on the red light on the camera. “I finished with it and now we have to wait for five minutes before the results will be ready. The stick will say ‘pregnant’ or 'not pregnant’. I got that one so there was no mistakes with the lines.“ I stopped and waited.
My hands were shaking like crazy and I felt my breath stopping on my throat and drops running down my forehead. It was the slowest time that has ever passed to my whole life. I never been more anxious about something in my life and the fact that I was recording it make it more uncomfortable.
"So, the five minutes passed. It is probably ready.” I leaned down to grab it and a breath that I was holding was left my body. I closed my eyes and took another deep breath and with shaken hands I brought it to my face. I looked down at it and my eyes watered immediately.
I hide my face behind my palms and started crying. “What does it say?” Cameron asked me but I didn’t answer her. Instead, I cried even louder and sniffed. “Y/N, hey.” She placed the camera on top of the sink and hugged me tightly. I felt her kissing my head as I let all the tears run down.
After I took a moment to regain my strength, I wiped my tears and laughed a bit. “I know I am crying right now but I am so happy.” I said and showed the stick on the camera. “I know that it says pregnant but I am really happy. I am so happy that I am going to have a baby with the man I love so much. This baby is a blessing for me. I am so freaking happy.” I screamed as me and Cameron laughed and she hugged me again.
“Well, congratulations.” She said and I nodded as I wiped my tears and smiled.
“Thank you. Oh my God, I can’t believe it.” I sighed and turned back to the camera. “Now, for the next part I need to announce the news to Gray and then to Ethan too.”
“How are you planning doing it?”
“Oh, I believe I found the perfect way. So, Cameron do you want to bake some fortunate cookies?” I smirked and raised an eyebrow as she nodded her head and smiled.
“Can’t wait.”
I was in the bedroom me and Grayson were sharing and tried to find a good spot to hide the camera so he wouldn’t notice. He was in the bathroom taking a bath and he would take a while in there so I had as much time as I wanted. I choose his mini piano he had on the corner of the room and placed the camera as far behind as possible. It wouldn’t be a problem being there, Grayson never looks around the room and the fact that it was a small cam helped a lot.
I put it there and pressed play while I went back to the kitchen to prepare myself. Earlier this morning when I found out I was pregnant, Cameron helped me baked some fortunate cookies since she knew the recipe just perfect and helped me find things to write down for Grayson.
We end up baking ten cookies and so we decide to write each one by five and of course I wrote also the one that saying I am pregnant and all. I had a feeling that Cameron wrote mean things the most since she liked to tease the boys and since their reaction was funny to say at least.
I put them in order while I placed the one last. I thought to give him one by one so he wouldn’t go straight to it.
I grabbed them on my hands and placed the white pregnancy stick on the pocket of my hoodie so I could show it to him as evidence. I walked back to the room and I saw him changing in comfortable clothes while wiping his wet hair with a towel.
The sight in front of me was extremely hot and gorgeous and had me drooling like an idiot. I cleared my throat and smiled as I passed Grayson and put the cookies on the bed and sat down. He turned to look at me and after he was done putting on a t-shirt he came and sat beside me.
“Hey, baby, how was your day?” He questioned me as he kissed my lips and looked at my eyes.
“Well, I can say that it was very good. Almost amazing.”
“Yeah? How so?” He raised his eyebrows at me and I smiled as I caressed his cheek.
“Well, you will see. So, I had an idea this morning.” I started as I straighten my body and faced him fully. I turned over to see the camera and I saw that everything was perfect so I turned back to Grayson.
“Will you tell me?”
“Yeah, of course.” As I was about to explain the door burst open and I saw Ethan coming inside. “hey.”
“I was bored so I decided to come and hang out together. I hope its okay with you guys.“ Ethan stated and we nodded our head. It was more preferable. I wouldn’t need to say to him the news later. I could record his reaction too and have it share the news of the first Dolan baby to both twins at the same time.
"Of course. Sit next to your brother. I was about to say that I had an idea this morning which was to bake some fortune cookies for him since I was bored and we never done something like this before. Also, it had been quite some time since I had done something sweet for my boyfriend. So, here they are. I want to state that Cameron helped me and she wrote five of them so please don’t put the blame on me if you see anything mean at any one of them. So, bare with me.” I explained and I saw as Grayson smiled at my gesture and leaned down to kiss me.
“That is so nice and sweet from you baby girl. I can’t wait to open them.” He said.
“Cameron was here this morning? I thought she was out with a friend.” Ethan replied confused. From the whole thing it was that particular statement that made him confused. He was such an adorable idiot to be honest.
“Yeah, with me. She was not lying. Anyway, Grayson do you want to start?” I asked him and he nodded his head. I picked up the first and placed it on his waiting hand. He broke it and read the paper.
“Aw, so sweet.”
“Please, read them aloud.”
“Okay! You are the cheese to my macaroni. That is so delicious. Thank you baby.”
“Next one.”
“If people talk behind your back then just fart. Oh my God, Cameron.” We all laughed at this.
“Third.”
“A sensual full body massage is in your very near future. I hope this is true. I will be waiting for it babe.” He said and smiled. He took the next one and broke it. “ It is your good fortune to share life’s special moments with the one you love. True.”
“Those are so boring. I can’t wait to hear Cameron’s.” Ethan said as he placed his head on his hand and rolled his eyes.
“You will be hungry in thirty minutes from now.” Grayson read and nodded his head. “Already am.”
“Next one.”
“About time to get out of that cookie.”
“She didn’t have such a funny state of mind i suppose.” Ethan commented and I hit his head.
“Please shut up. Seven.”
“Behind a great man is a woman rolling her eyes. Go, Y/N.”
“Love her.” I stated and passed him another.
“You are everything I was looking for. Expect your ass smelly feet.”
“That is mine. I want to say that it’s completely true but I kind of grew to love them too?” I asked kind of socked.
“Yeah, your feet smell too.” Grayson tried to argue but he smiled and kissed my nose. “Nah, a complete lie.”
“So, two more to go.”
“Can’t wait to.” He sang and grabbed the ninth cookie. That was last one from Cameron. “I still remember that you own me ten dollars, stole my shorts and that you hit the back of car. Something terrible will happen soon.”
Ethan and I laughed our heads off. “Dude, you had it so bad.” Ethan patted his back while Grayson rolled his eyes and went to grabbed the next one but I grabbed his hand and stopped him.
“Read it carefully.”
“Roses are red, violets are blue, i have a secret and here’s the clue… what does that-?” He cut off himself when he looked at the stick on my hands. He looked at it carefully and lifted his eyes to meet mine. “What does that…?”
“Oh my God, dude.” Ethan yelled, gripping at his roots as he realized what it was.
Grayson’s eyes grew wide as they change in a green color. He grabbed the stick and looked at it carefully. He stared at it for a good amount of time, not making a noise or a move while I looked at him with a confused, waiting and worry look on my face. “Does that mean that you are… we are…. oh my God.” He said and started crying.
Were them happy or angry tears? I couldn’t say.
“Grayson, look I am-” he cut me off as he grabbed me by the face and kissed me deeply. I locked my hands around his neck as I kissed back.
“We are having a baby. I can’t fucking believe this. Ethan we are having a baby. Oh my Gosh.” Grayson said and hugged the both of us as he cried once more making me cry too as I hugged him tight. I saw them hug, I saw them smile and I saw the happiness written all over Grayson’s face.
I was so madly in love with him that I was willing to take that step with him even in that young age. Of course, for me, age doesn’t matter at all. It doesn’t matter if you are seventeen or forty to be ready so they can have a child, all it takes is to be mature and ready deep inside to have a baby.
“Y/N, well, thank you so much.” Grayson said snapping me out of my daydream. I smiled and leaned on his arms and hugged him as tightly as I could.
“No, I want to thank you for deciding to be in that step of our life.” I kissed his lips and then hugged him again, as I smelled his scent that made me relax so fast and nake me feel comfortable. “I love you so much and I want to spend the rest of my life with you and our baby.”
“Me too, baby.”
“Also, I have made a video for this. I recorded your reaction as well me finding out the news. Do you want to see it?” I questioned him and I saw him nodding his head eagerly.
You were thankful that he was happy about this as you were. You were young and all but this was a blessing and you were happy that Grayson was the one that you were going to share this with. He was the best ans you couldn’t ask for better guy.
