no because i’ve read this story so many times and there’s really something to be said about the way i believe luke so much in episode 2. he says a lot of offhanded little gripes about the gods and it feels almost common place and i understand his anger, i’d be angry too and i know how his story ends but oh my god would i side with him because it feels to easy to be mad

And you deserve this too, New. You absolutely do. You truly deserve to take them all out or at least fully take your revenge on them.

Frankly, the only person in this who is innocent is White and Tee was at least trying to do better and did his best to save Non eventually... but everyone else? New, do what you want. Take them all out. They deserve it.

(Phee is questionable because he did love Non, I'm sure of it, but now he's moving on with Jin in a way that New can't move on because Non was his family and everything they did destroyed his family and they could never move on the way Phee could find new love. Even if Phee never forgets his love for Non even as he learns to love Jin... there is nothing like that for New.)

DUNE TWO MOVIE SPOILERS BELOW THE CUT I HAVE TO TALK ABOUT THIS OR ILL EXPLODE

i cannot stop thinking about the final scene with chani and how amazing it is as an adaptation of the final lines of the book

in the book, Jessica assures Chani that she will be remembered as the true wife of Paul Muad’dib and i have always loved this allusion to history which is super important and also the centering of Jessica and Chani as voices in Leto/Paul’s lives

but Villeneuve takes it to a whole other level by giving Chani the agency to get angry and LEAVE?? like not only is she the woman that history will remember, she is also the one thing in the entire universe that Paul can’t control.

i knew that Denis got it from the moment he did that interview about how the women of dune are the heart and soul of the story but MY GD DOES HE GET IT!!!!!!

i am interested to see what this means for Messiah, though, because the opening of that book is just. lmao paul and chani having coffee in arrakeen.
