wait.. i’m literally on here or weibo almost 24/7 ( as you can tell lol ) but I feel like i missed something. i’m seeing clowning related to xz’s photos and how it looks like he is a groom and it’s a wedding photoshoot. the place is also famous for wedding shoots ( allegedly, idk. i’m not from there ) so turtles are imagining again. lol. freakin coincidence that wyb’s GRA photoshoot was done at a wedding shop. plus the “wedding outfits” for weibo night. which is all clowning and galaxy braining.🌌

now, we’re joking around, like where’s yibo? he should be taking photos with his partner.

then i see comments that there is this one song WYB recently listened to. meaning, as recent as when XZ flew to singapore which is called 超人不会飞 (superman can’t fly) by Jay Chou. i know WYB and everyone else is a big fan of Jay Chou but the clowning comes from the timing of when he listened to it. let me get to that first.

turtles are interpreting it as WYB longing to “fly” to where XZ is and be with him but he can’t because of all his work commitments. he wants to take a breather. thinking about what his life is and the constraints, and at times like this, when they spent days in Beijing, but now they have to be apart, it affects him even more.

however when i read the lyrics, it could also be because he can relate to what jay chou is singing about. here’s the english translation i found here. i have bolded the ones i felt like WYB relates too. literally no need for explanation. just read it. It fits with his status in life so much that it’s almost scary.

I don’t think there is anything wrong with how cpfs are relating this to cpn cause that’s just how it is. But sometimes, there are other reasons why they do what they do.

SO MY CONFUSION COMES FROM HOW THE HELL DO PEOPLE KNOW WHAT HE RECENTLY LISTENED TO. I can’t seem to dig up how or maybe it’s something we don’t talk about. I have never experienced this kind of tidbit related to them before so I wanna know the source. Or is this like the gaming cpn where certain people know and they will not divulge the boy’s account for privacy? if anyone knows, feel free to comment. If i find out in the future, I will share.

Wang Chuan Feng Hua Lu (忘川风华录) Masterpost

Wang Chuan Feng Hua Lu (忘川风华录) is a Vocal synth (Vocaloid and SynthV) music project. It consists of songs themed around different figures throughout Chinese history. The project is a collaboration between different artists and creatives, with music and videos featuring prominent traditional Chinese elements. The project's title translates to "The Records of Magnificence of the Wangchuan" - In Chinese mythology, "Wangchuan" (or River of Forgetting) is a river in the Underworld that can rid one of their past life's memories, similar to the river Lethe.

A mobile game adaptation has also been developed by NetEast. Unfortunately, I haven't played it so I can't give much insight on it. However, I assume that its premise is similar to that of the idea behind the project as a whole: all these historical figures meeting each other in the Underworld after they died. Maybe.

Pokémon x TGCF {Xie Lian}

{Main Team}

Ruoye the Sylveon

- A precious friend he’s had since childhood. His friends Mu Qing and Feng Xin have Eeveelutions that are siblings with Xie Lian’s Ruoye.

Xiu Ying the Florges

- It was given to him as a white Flabebe by a boy he’d saved from an attack, and she’s been a cherished member of the team ever since.

Zhen Zhen the Furret

- Xie Lian’s only shiny Pokémon; he found this Pokémon being picked on by others and rescued it.

Jia Yi the Absol

- Villagers kept reporting seeing this Pokemon before disasters and began to view it as a bad omen. Undeterred by this superstition, Xie Lian made her a member of his team.

Mei Hui the Meowstic

- Full of restrained power, many underestimate the strength behind this Pokémon’s attacks.

Dai Lu the Pachirisu

- Although small and not very threatening at first glance, this little Pachirisu is often the key to a winning battle.

- Xie Lian found him, lonely and hungry, while sorting through some rubbish. Since he too was down on his luck, he decided to take this Pokémon in and care for him.

- A cursed sword brought to life by the hatred of people, this Pokémon was given to him by White No-Face who claimed the Pokémon would be nothing but cruel. But under Xie Lian’s care, the Pokémon has come to trust again; now playful but fiercely loyal.

Musing On The Story of Lord Wenhui & Cook Ding.

The more I read this book, the more I am able to recall the divinity within me, but at the same time, the more I read this, the more I forget myself and who I am.

To live life with spontaneity, to be unselfconscious in all my actions and not doing a thing because it’s “right” or it is “wrong” but to just do; to just act because it’s innate in me. Sure I can rationalize these things okay enough. To the point where I can apply these teaching every day? Maybe I will be able too, maybe I wont but putting this into practice every day takes EXTREME discipline.

One thing I’m sure of, words cannot articulate this Dao. What a fool I am to try to articulate what I’m experiencing. Zhunagzi says: “to pursue the limitless (The Dao), with the limited (the mind/senses), this is but danger.”[3.1.3]

Namely, because the Dao exceeds all intellect and conceptualizations that have limits; so to embark on The Dao using just my 5 senses would be a fool's errand. I’m drawing parallels between Iamblichus’ “irrational” ways of going about theurgy and other Hermetic & Platonic teachings. But sharing those will have to wait. I'm really impressed with the story of Cook Ding and Lord Wenhui (King Hui of Liang).

The King is ever impressed with Cook Ding's butchering skills on an ox. So impressed he says this: "Wow! Terrific! How could skill ever go so far as this?" [3.3]. Cook Ding responds by saying he has no skill, but he is good at The Dao. According to just a simple cook for the imperials, just after three years butchering oxen for a living, he no longer see's the oxen's with his eyes but confronts the animal with his spirit (神) [3.4.1-4]. After telling Lord Wenhui this, Cook Ding mentions: [3.4.5] "When the sense and knowledge stop, the divine is ready to act." Cook Ding goes on to say because he cuts without knowledge or skill and just inherently cuts because that is the Cook's nature, and because he has arcanely merged the principal or natural configuration of the Ox, he abides where inherent certainty leads him. Then Cook Ding says: [3.4.10-11] "It never happens that my plying encounters the joints, So how much the less likely am I to encounter a big bone!"

Next, Cook Ding demonstrates the difference between an ordinary cook's knife, a good cook's knife, and his knife. The ordinary cook must change his knife once a month because he hacks the meat. A good cook changes his knife every year because he cuts through the meat. Guo Xiang says this about the good cook: "He(the good cook) fails to hit the interstices in the natural configuration." Meaning the good cook does not approach his craft with his/her spirit (神). Now Cook Ding says his knife has lasted over 19 years, with thousands of oxen that he has cut and butchered. He also mentions how little he has to put his knife to sharpening, but when he does, he applies the least amount of effort to perfectly sharpen his knife. Knowing how effortless his craft and his nature is, Cook Ding soaks up each moment of caring for his knife, feeling satisfaction for what he has done so perfectly. [3.4.12-21]

Lord Wenhui is so impressed by Cook Ding's words the King now has learned how to nurture life from the Cook's words. If a man can hone his knife to such a degree, imagine what you or I could do with the very life we have been blessed with? At least, that's how Guo Xiang interprets the end of the story and Lord Wenhui's amazement at Cook Ding. [3.5]

Safe to say, I was just amazed at Cook Ding's words just as Lord Wenhui was. I really like this story because we have a common working man teaching someone of aristocratic background The Dao. Reminding me that one doesn't have to become a great invocator or sage or King to embark on this inarticulate Dao. In fact, we shouldn't add or subtract anything from our emotions/tendencies. Zhuangzi says this a little later in the chapter: [3.12.3] "Such people try to escape from nature and multiply the scope of their tendencies/emotions, which is to forget what they have been endowed with." Just as Cook Ding demonstrated for us, he perfected the allotted capacity given to him by Heaven. In his arcane fusion of Earth(Oxen) and Heaven (Cook Ding's natural allotted capacity that is given to him out of Fate), Cook Ding can radically live in the moment, nurturing each breath and stroke of the knife.

Master Zhuang admits this is quite difficult and Guo Xiang expands on why it is so difficult I think very beautifully that I’ll just provide the whole commentary and last words from Zhunagzi:

Yuletide Letter

Fandoms: Tai Sui, Night in the Lonesome October, Return of Mount Hua sect.

SPOILERS BELOW THE CUT

Dear Yuletide writer - thanks! I love plot and worldbuilding and shenanigans, and also darkfic on occasion, and I look forward to seeing what you write.

Tai Sui

I love everything about Tai Sui – the characters, the setting, the plot, the feels…everything. (I’d say everyone, too, but this isn’t true as long as Xiang Rong exists.) Also, I’m a multi-shipper, so I am fully convinced of the validity/OTP truth of…many, many things. Sometimes (often?) simultaneously. Incidental spoilers in the suggestions.

So for my request I want non-standard genre fic and/or wacky hijinks, preferably both (though only set in canon). The suggestions below are NOT in order of preference (I’d probably say Lin Chi first, then Zhou Ying, then Zhao Qindan, then Yu Chang)

Zhao Qindan – for Zhao Qindan, I generally ship her with Wei Chengxiang, and I love the squabbling dynamic both of them have with Xi Ping (though not shipping in that case).

Suggestions:

An article written in the style of the toilet bulletins describing…something going on, possibly another pairing (feat. Xi Ping? Yu Chang?), but in the most sarcastic with plausible deniably style possible. Extra points for in-universe appropriate multimedia

Zhao Qindan/Wei Chengxiang shenanigans, film noir style (or book noir style for that matter). parody film noir also good

Police procedural mystery solving with background Zhao Qindan/Wei Chengxiang? Maybe featuring Pang Jian finally getting to live out his dreams of being a cop in a world in which cop isn’t really a job?

Courtship letters between Zhao Qindan and Wei Chengxiang that are 95% about foreign food

Lin Chi – I ship Lin Chi/Wen Fei, disaster duo, and of course Lin Chi’s forever doomed one-sided puppy crush on Hui Xiangjun. Also the dynamic of Lin Chi, harassed college student stuck babysitting child neighbor Zhi Xiu and toddler Xi Ping while they play with dynamite. And I really like the suggestive little hints we get about Lin Chi and Lin Zongyi and what could have been if canon was not...canon.

Suggestions:

Lin Chi/Wen Fei, buddy cop travelogue. Maybe solving a murder? causing a murder? both?

Something from Lin Chi’s POV, in which he very nearly notices how much havoc everyone around him is causing and trying to hide from him

Lin Chi-written reference manual or error log entries, complete with errata and vague commentary that somehow conveys the monumental disasters that caused him to need to invent these things/fix these things/etc.

Excerpts from Lin Chi’s official letters of complaint to Zhi Xiu about His New Disciple

Lin Chi and Lin Zongyi having the world’s most awkward non-verbal conversations at family parties for years and years and YEARS and somehow both never realizing that they’re actually really close

Fix-it in which somehow we get Lin Zongyi back to hang out with Lin Chi, in either ghostly or corporeal form. Possibly in a situation where Lin Chi is hiding this return from everyone else. I’d be open to Lin Zongyi/Lin Chi in this context :) If you write this one I will extra love you forever

Zhou Ying – as far as I’m concerned, Zhou Ying/Xi Ping is canon, and Zhou Ying&Zhi Xiu, divorced parents fighting over who takes care of Xi Ping better, is also canon. But Zhou Ying, everybody’s problem now, is the most canon.

Zhou Ying & Zhi Xiu (or, even better, Zhou Ying/Zhi Xiu), stuck together doing something. Maybe another buddy cop travelogue, except somehow even worse than the Lin Chi/Wen Fei version, maybe they’re just stuck in an elevator, but either way turn the bitchy pettiness up to 11

There is deaged Zhou Ying and literally only Bai Ling and Xi Ping think it’s cute, everyone else is just horrified at how much damage a single small child can cause

Bby!Zhou Ying & Bai Ling, here to cause problems and cause problems, and they’re all out of…no, they’ve actually made new problems

Extra points for Zhou Ying somehow managing to meet and befriend Luo Qingshi, preferably not during his clarity phase

Yu Chang – He is evil, but baby (in his own POV, anyway). Rule: always loses, but somehow usually still manages to get what he actually needs in the end (no relation to what he wants). Open to Yu Chang/Xi Ping spitesex and/or long-standing frenemy relationship while Xi Ping/Zhou Ying OTPs in the background.

Canon, but told in the style of “Yu Chang’s Very Bad No Good Really Terrible Lifetime”

Yu Chang doesn’t trust anyone, so he keeps the meeting minutes for his multiple conspiracies. With commentary. Very mean commentary.

You know the trope with someone developing the ability to see ghosts? That, except it’s Yu Chang suddenly being able to perceive a ghostly Zhou Ying who is now commenting gleefully on the Yu Chang/Xi Ping shenanigans and Yu Chang haaaaaaates it

Yu Chang/Xi Ping stuck together and forced to work together, complete with Yu Chang’s inevitable backstabbing attempts and Xi Ping’s equally inevitable outsmarting him over it, but also a get-together story. Preferably but not necessarily told in a series of Looney Toons style shorts.

Additional request:

Any of the requested characters time traveling and meeting the 3 Elders (especially Lin Zongyi) as they are in the extra. Just come stab me.

DNW: no predestination, no infidelity (people can be sleeping with multiple people at a time but no one should feel like they’re cheating or be angsting about it. Minor exception for Yu Chang somehow making spiteful comments about Xi Ping, especially if he’s always wrong about who he thinks Xi Ping is cheating on), no anti-sex-worker stuff, no mindbreaks or permanent amputation of a body part, no in-fic unhappy endings. NO modern AUs or complete AUS (i.e. Zhao Qindan is a reporter from the beginning) – please only canon-verse settings, although deviations from canon-verse (e.g. the world doesn’t work quite the same way, people don’t die, irrevocable things don’t occur or if they do it was somehow not fatal, etc.) are OK.

Night in the Lonesome October

The Count was my favorite character as a kid, especially the reveal moment…!

In short: I would very much like post-canon Count/Jack/Jill fic. Ideally get-together fic - possibly where they are all forced to live together for whatever reason? Possibly where Something happened offscreen during October and they’re still settling into a new dynamic as a result?

All the points for dealing with recovery from the events of canon (esp. for the Count), dealing with adjusting to each other’s little “quirks” (there’s a difference between dealing with it for a month in the abstract and literally living with it, whether it’s the Count’s particular diet or Jack’s knife issues or Jill’s everything), dealing with manners/expectations from different eras, and possibly them getting stuck in the Dreamlands and needing some help from Snuff or Greymalkin or Needle (or all of them!) to get out because that would be cool. I’d also be into something in which they have to rescue each other from the different situations - Jack from the police, the Count from hunters, Jill from...different type of hunters and/or morality police.

I have thrown Snuff in there because I would be really amused by temporarily-stuck-as-a-bat-or-wolf!Count and Snuff hanging out.

DNW: no predestination, no infidelity, no “the Openers should win”, only happy endings please

Return of Mount Hua

I’ve been enjoying the manhwa so far, but I’m only reading the translation, so please no spoilers past that.

I know our protagonist doesn’t much care for the silly cliché backstory going on between Baek Chun and Jin Geumryong, but I certainly do! I’d like toxic relationship darkfic Jin Geumryong/Baek Chun (either as Baek Chun or Jin Dongryong) please, with extra points for obsessive Jin Geumryong who both wants to humiliate Baek Chun but also keep him. NOT angsty, please, just sexy dubious badwrong.

Also OK with something in which Jin Dongryong is the initial victim but eventual victor (…but still into the original dynamic they have), and something in which they have to find equilibrium. Or maybe something in which they have to work together post-current-canon and deal with their new dynamic.

DNW: either character being completely broken – i.e. nothing where Jin Geumryong is shattered by losing and becomes a shadow of himself, nothing in which Baek Chun breaks and gives up completely because he can never win; no infidelity, no permanent mindbreak/amputation of a body part, no spoilers past the current translation point, happy endings only please

...yeah, that’s it, that’s the prompt XD Max not getting the canon end, but something better. with someone who isn’t Maja. Complete AUs are OK (e.g. gangsters! pirates! space!), but modern AUs are not. I would like it if we got to see Max and Nisse spending time together, but not necessarily. Maybe they can go on some adventure, just the two of them?

also under the circumstances I’m specifying no on screen infidelity on the DNW list (see: Maja. see: the plot) rather than total DNW infidelity, since we can be dealing with the aftereffects, but I’d rather it not be the main focus of the plot

Love and Leather

Chapter 1

Introductions

Hello, my name is Cai Xia, and this is the story of how I fell in love with the Emperor and became the Empress of the Qing Dynasty. But first, I would like to introduce my family, teacher, hometown, and where my story begins. My family has lived in Chunsu, a somewhat wealthy town about three days from the capital, for generations, and it is where my parents met and fell in love. They met when they were teens and fell in love not long after. My parents were twenty years old when they married, and then they had my older brother, Cai Yan, a year later.

I was born five years after my brother Yan, and my family could not be happier to finally have a daughter after trying for so long. Now my family has been running a leather tanning/selling business since the founding of Chansu, and the whole family has been working it ever since. Even now that the Cai family is one of the five wealthiest families in Chansu and can hire people to do the work for us, we are still working in and around the business to ensure the quality of our leather is top-notch and second-best to none. My father, Cai Bo, and my brother Yan work in the tanning shop, providing the leather is clean and sellable to the public, while my mother, Cai Hui, and I work in the shop selling the leather to the people of Chansu.

We sell our leather to all people in town and travelers who are just passing through, but my favorite customer is Mr.Ling, a devoted customer, and my brother and I’s teacher since we were old enough to learn how to read and write. He is the one who instilled in me a love of reading and a thirst for knowledge of any kind. Mr.Ling is also the one I go to when I get myself into situations that require wisdom that I will not have until I am as old and wise as Mr.Ling. And lately, it feels like I have done nothing but pester my poor teacher with the most difficult challenge I have ever faced and will ever face. The son of the town magistrate, Xiang Chen, is a rude nobleman who uses his father’s position to terrorize the town and make people bend to his will.
