Vengeful Knight
When Danny moved to Gotham he didn't think that would be a problem, his rogues agreed to let him go (or at least, most of them) and it was a good opportunity to get his college degree.
Of course, you can't spend your whole life with ghosts without getting attached to them or having them getting attached to you. Although most of them had promised, Danny was well aware that not all of them were going to keep that promise.
A good example was Fright Knight, who instead of staying in the Realms decided to move in with him and provide additional "protection"; the halfa figured it made sense, since he was now "heir" or whatever, he was just setting him back a few years.
Fright Knight took his job very seriously, mostly hiding in Danny's shadow and keeping watch. That was fine until the halfa got caught in a rogue attack in Gotham and inevitably, Frighty decided to do his job and press a sword down their throats.
Danny escaped from there soon after, but this trend continued to happen (rogues, muggers, even cops, anything "dangerous" ended up with a sword around his neck).
When he read in the Gotham newspaper about the "spirit of a knight" and "Gotham's recent problem with nightmares" he knew he had to do something about it. He was almost certain that people were going to consider him a vigilante or worse, a bat.
Besides, the nightmare dimension was getting pretty crowded and Danny didn't want to be part of the trauma of half the population in Gotham.

If five pebbles was ever built for zephyr the same way he was built for moon, would he ever see her as a mentor?
i imagine that he'd!!! be more open with her than he is with Moon, because their personalities match better. Zephyr isn't really the doting, overprotective kind. She didn't have the chance to learn how to be affectionate and warm even though she wishes she could be and she needs to watch her own systems like a hawk 24/7 so she ain't got the attention to spare to nag at him even if she wanted to. they'd end up bonding over their anger at the injustice of the Iterators' fate, though
Pebs would probably take someone else as Mentor™ (she wouldn't be capable of fullfilling the expectations of that role), but he'd probably still look up to her a lot. she'd be like. a not-the-title mentor in the specific field of being angry at their situation and doing Something about it

i just realized out of all of the character's phones that we see in young royals only august has an iphone. everyone else has an android.
wille and felice both have what looks like the samsung galaxy z flip which makes sense in terms of their role in society. they are royalty and nobility, respectively, which are the two highest roles in society so them having phones that are on par with each other makes sense. also assuming young royals is set in 2020 (because it was filmed in 2020 and released in 2021) this would be a fairly new phone and reflects their wealth in that they were able to buy the newest model phone. also we don't really get a good look at erik's phone but it looks like a fairly nice android and i assume it's at least on par with wille's.
sara and simon both have nondescript androids. this fits in with them being from a more working class family. iphones often have easily breakable features and planned obsolescence and they would need phones that are both durable and will last several years so an android makes sense.
maddie has an fairly nice looking android (ngl i have no clue what type of phone she has but it has three lenses for the camera so it seems higher end)
then we get to august.
he is the only one shown to have an iphone and beyond that it could potentially be an older phone. we can see his phone clearly on several occasions and what stood out to me the most is that it has a home button. iphones have not had a home button since 2020. neither the iphone 11 or 12 have home buttons and they came out in 2019 and 2020 respectively. even if he had the iphone SE (last phone with a home button) it's interesting that he's still the only character we see without an android. i feel like it could be a hint to his social standing since wille and felice, who are both at the top of the social ladder as well as being associated with royalty/nobility, are shown using the newest androids. whereas august, someone of noble birth, has an iphone. almost hinting to the fact that his position in society both inside and outside of hillerska is not permanent. it could even foreshadow his money issues since his phone is half the price of wille's and he hasn't fixed his camera.
however i look at it august should have had a better phone. as the second cousin to the crown prince i wouldn't even be surprised if he and wille had the same phone. and yet we are forced to see and acknowledge that he is the only one with an iphone. idk if this makes sense but we were clearly and deliberately shown august's phone on several occasions (when he is recording his workout in the gym, when he records wille and simon, when he's watching the video back, when he plugs in his phone to upload the video, etc.) and he is the only one without an android which i highly doubt is a coincidence. (there's also a chance im reading to much into this but im not ready for that conversation)

-Go to my bathroom to take a dump. Water all over the floor. Check inside toilet; looks drained, with some toilet paper at the bottom.
-"Dad, I think toilet has a leak."
-He gets upstairs and IMMEDIATELY starts lecturing me about making sure I flush all the way. "It probably just got clogged and you weren't paying attention and it overflowed."
-Tells me to go get the mop.
-"...We have a mop? Where is it?"
-Deeply annoyed, he says it's probably in the garage or something, acts like I should know this.
-I go check the garage. Only Swiffers, which is what me and mom use to clean the floors. I bring one up. "Like this?"
-"No, a REAL mop!"
-I tell him if we have a real mop, I don't know where it is. Annoyed, he comes down, looks through the garage. 10 minutes later, mutters angrily, "Mom doesn't use mops anymore?"
-If she ever did, it hasn't been for over 20 years. Because I didn't learn HOW to mop from my mom, I learned at my fucking work.
-"Well, I GUESS this is all we have. Bring the plunger up after me." He takes the Swiffer up and starts cleaning the water. I take the plunger, certain we won't need it.
-He tries to flush the toilet, expecting it to be clogged.
-It flushes completely fine.
-He checks the tank. Oops, looks like nothing is wrong with the tank. He looks back at the plunger, then at the toilet. Mutters, "it fills up really slow."
-"I know. That's why I figured it wasn't overflowing. Because it's my toilet, and I know it fills up so slowly that even when it does get clogged, you can flush it once and the bowl will only fill to the bottom of the brim before water stops pouring in. You'd have to repeatedly flush it to make it overflow."
-He looks around the basin. Oh, what a surprise, he finds where the seal is broken. There's a leak.
-By the way, you know how I mentioned that I only learned to mop at my job?
-I'm a fucking janitor.
My dad takes "mansplaining" to a whole new level.

Catching up on Quantum Leap, because I dropped the ball after the S1 mid-season finale last year and S2 is like five episodes in now, and oh my god... bawling my fucking eyes out at the episode about the trans high school athlete in season one.
The QL reboot doesn't centre around on individual episodes being focused on social issues in the same way the original show was, for the most part, which I think does work because it can avoid the implication of a person who is not part of a particular group coming in to take over a marginalised person's life and save them from a tragedy resulting from bigotry they face that they otherwise wouldn't have been able to save themselves from. And even without being About social justice, it's still moving the needle forward in that the show is very diverse in its ensemble cast in a way that is so seamless that I didn't notice for several episodes when I started watching it that there are no white male recurring characters.
But I do sometimes miss the focus on social justice of the original show and how it didn't lean away from social injustice as a show where time travel was the main conceit and... oh boy. This fucking episode. Tears. Non-stop tears. I don't think there was an episode in the original show that hit me this close to home, but Jesus Christ. This one got me right where I live.
I was obviously never an out trans kid on a sports team who faced that specific kind of harassment and who was turned into a hot button issue in a culture war when all I wanted was to be on a team with other kids, but in some ways having not been out as a kid made the scenes where Gia's peers loved her and accepted her hit all the harder. I wish we all got to be happy, normal kids. I wish none of us had to go through what trans kids—out, or stealth, or closeted, or questioning or not even aware we were trans yet—went through in the past and what they are going through right now. I want Ben Song to be all of our dad 😭
