Harry and Ron’s friendship is so powerful. Like yeah, of course they were close to Hermione too, but those two did EVERYTHING together. They become IMMEDIATE best friends. Ron had just met Harry and he would have done anything for him. I think Hermione helped Harry a lot because it was logically the best thing to do, but Ron would have followed him anywhere because he was his best friend, and that’s what best friends do. That’s what makes Ron so loyal.

What OTPs in your fandom(s) do you just not get?
Merder on Grey's (he calls her a whore, is an insufferable prick, leads her on and whines, and we're supposed to root for them??). I'm not sure Jaggie's is anyone's OTP, but that too. Also in other fandoms: Harry/Ginny, Draco/Hermione, Buffy/Angel.
2. Are there any popular fandom OTPs you only BroTP?*
I would have been fine if Castle and Beckett had stayed partners/friends, honestly. Also, Troy and Abed from Community could never be romantic in my mind.
5. Has fandom ever ruined a pairing for you?
I used to love Jim/Pam from The Office, but the fandom's dislike of Pam and overanalysis of Jim's behavior slowly wore me down.
6. Has fandom ever made you enjoy a pairing you previously hated?
I enjoy Slexie way more in fanfictions than on the show, where they make me went to tear my hair down.
17. Instead of XYZ happening, I would have made ABC happen…
Easy one: Japril would have reunited in season 13 and we wouldn't have the nonsense happening afterwards (though I would have still had Matthew come in season 14, if only to clear the air with April so she could get closure. His wife could stay alive, though.)

Are there any popular fandom OTPs you only BroTP?*
This one's easy. Wolfstar. I only BroTP Remus and Sirius. I think there was too much trauma in their school years and first war to make this ship sailable. Remus hates himself so much that even if Sirius bent over backwards to love him (and Sirius is emotionally stunted as is) that I think getting over the "prank" from their fifth year, combined with the suspicion Sirius had over Remus in the first war, is just too much. Remus deserved a fresh start and that's what he got with Tonks.
The other is probably Harry/Hermione (Harmony). They're friends. When I was a teen I really wanted Harry/Hermione to be together because I identified with Hermione. Now that I'm an adult it makes so much more sense for Harry to be with Ginny because that's the kind of girl he found attractive. Hermione is cool and all but she's his sister, not his lover.

2.) Are there any popular fandom OTPs you only BroTP?
100,000% Drarry. I know I've said this before, but like...I'm overly in love with Snarry, so shipping them with other people makes me sad. 🤣 But I can at least feel a spark or a vibe from other ships, such as say Tomarry or Sirry (for Harry), or Snaco or Sneville (for Severus.) There's interest there, and sexiness, and even if it's not romance or longterm, I can envision there being something.
Drarry???? I just don't get it. 😭 0 spark. 0 spice. For me personally. Clearly there are plenty of people who do get those things! Or who don't need those things in a ship, idk. Drarry is huge and ngl I wish I could see it! Especially because Drarry has so many super talented people. 🥺 I admire all the art, and the fics I've read have been so stellar!!!! A+ writing. A+ art. Gorgeous, stunning, amazing. I envy Drarry folks, they have so many goods to enjoy!
Anyway. I can't really ship it romantically. And I can barely see a case for it sexually. 🧐 But platonic???? I LOVE IT. Just like begrudging buddies postwar. Like enemies to lovers only it's rivals to friends. I super dig it. Especially when it's all reluctant. (Like how I like my ships tbh.) Just Harry like helping Draco out postwar cuz he's a good boy, but he's like "I'll help you but I'm not gonna like it." And Draco being all bratty and proud about it all. Or or! Having to work together, be it rebuilding Hogwarts or being coworkers!!!! OR OR OR having to get along because their friend group is all hooking up. (Who doesn't love a good Gryffindor/Slytherin ship????)

Especially when they become buddies after Harry and Severus hook up!!!!!!!! Snarry with a side of Snamione BrOTP???? Yes yes yes. Two super smart folks being super smart together. Sharing book recommendations, having intellectual discussions, academic and political debates, etc. Maybe sharing projects???? Slowly over time of course cuz Severus is d i f f i c u l t. But they get there!!!! And suddenly Hermione is over for dinner and Harry feels like a third wheel cuz his husband and his bestie are talking nerd shit.
Okay okay okay but imagine: Married Snarry. Dron is a thing. Hermione is a single independent pringle. All having dinner cuz Golden Trio = family. Severus and Hermione get to chatting. Draco isn't actually interested but he's a jerk and smugly jumps in because Harry and Ron are clueless. Harry and Ron just sitting there like ???? Then excuse themselves to go fly around outside. But now Draco can't find his way out of a boring conversation he doesn't even want to be in and "Merlin help you, Ronald, if you leave me here --!" (At this point why am I answering an ask I might as well be writing a fic LOL.)
Anyway, the point is: Drarry and Snamione are excellent BrOTPs that I will platonically ship forever.
