Your dressing room smelled of bouquets piled high and your sweet, sugary, light lucky perfume. With the way you carefully and elegantly decorated your dressing room, an outsider would think you considered the Palais Garnier your second home. And in a way, it was. You spent much time at this elaborate opera house. Never in your life did you think you'd be performing at a place such as this.

You were sitting at your dressing room vanity, listening to the soft twinkling music of your piano shaped music box nearby. You hummed lowly to its melody, thinking back on when Five gave you it for your birthday. It was the last thing he ever gave you before he disappeared.

You twirled the note in your hands, looking at it thoughtfully. There's no way he could be back. You thought he was dead. You thought you lost him forever. How could he have returned? Is it possible? Was it possible? Or were you getting your hopes up for nothing?

You looked over at the bouquet. The combination of roses were nothing short of a coincidence. Nobody else except Five knew of your favorite flowers. More or less the colors. Plus, he was the only one who knew of their secret meanings.

A knock on the door broke you from your wandering thoughts. Your manager poked her head in.

"Y/N? You have a visitor," she informed.

"May I guess? Handsome, with dark hair and green eyes?"

"Um…yes."

"Please send him in."

"Of course."

Your manager left as you spritzed some perfume and tidied your makeup a bit. You were still in your dress when you saw the door open and a tall, sharply dressed young man enter.

"Little Y/N. Let her mind wander and thought if she was fonder of dolls or of goblins or of shoes," he almost hummed out, causing your heart to race.

"Five?" you looked at the vanity mirror, seeing him behind you.

Could it really be him?

"Or of riddles or of frocks," he continued with a forming, tender smile.

"Those picnics in the attic," you reminisced.

"Or of chocolates."

"With violin music playing throughout the Academy."

"As we read to each other dark stories of the North," Five chuckled.

"I can still hear us singing softly in my head," you mused almost dreamily. "Five…is it really you?" you watched him kneel next to you.

He grinned. "Yes, it's me. And you sang like an angel tonight."

"Five!" you threw your arms around him, nearly knocking him down in a hug.

The two of you laughed as he held you close, in a bit of disbelief himself to have you back in his arms. He'd missed everything about you and he never wanted to let any of it go. He didn't want to let you go.

"But, how? What happened to you? You were gone for so long," you said after pulling back, gazing into his eyes.

He sighed, letting his hands clasp yours in your lap. "I jumped into the future."

"You did? Like, you actually time traveled?"

"I did. And it was a crapshoot," Five got to his feet.

"Oh. I…I'm sorry," you softly spoke, not wanting to indulge him any further.

"It's not your fault, my nightingale. I should have listened to the old man," he shook his head.

You sighed, though your heart leapt when you heard his sweet pet name. "Did you know he's gone now?" you watched him sit on the elaborate, plush sofa.

"Yeah. My family is trying to plan a last minute funeral. I imagine that's going just the way they want to," he remarked dryly.

"They are?" you were surprised to hear that as you joined his side. Sir Reginald was about the worst father imaginable.

"Mhm. They wanted to invite you as well."

"After all this time, they remember me? It's been so long," you glanced down, fiddling with your fingers.

"Of course they remember you. We all did. You were their childhood playmate," he wrapped an arm around you.

"Well, I was also yours," you added, blushing when you gazed at him.

You still couldn't believe it. He was here! After all these years!

"What's wrong?" Five frowned some.

"Nothing! I just…can't believe you're back," you admitted.

Five smiled softly. "I'm honestly relieved, but, at the same time there's a lot we need to catch up on."

"I would imagine. It's been more than ten years."

"Unfortunately, it's been a lot longer than that for me."

You hesitated a moment, frowning slightly at that. "How do you mean?"

"Nothing, my darling. I don't want you to worry about it right now."

You sighed, shaking your head slightly in amusement. "Alright. But you know you can tell me anything."

"I'll tell you in time. Just not here."

"May I ask why you're here precisely?" you inquired instead.

"I wanted to see you. Because, like you said, it's been too long," Five tucked a stray piece of hair behind your ear.

Was it just your imagination or did you see something in his eyes that you didn't see before? You felt your breath hitch slightly from the thought.

"I appreciate it. I was worried that you were gone forever and I'd never see you again," you gave him a soft smile, standing up. More so to stretch your legs and try to hide your blush.

"I thought so, too. All I kept thinking about was getting back to you and my family," he also got to his feet.

Your head shot up from that. "Me?"

"Yes, of course," he drew you over to him. "I thought of you every day."

"Because I was your best friend?"

Five's eyes met yours. "Oh, my sweet, darling, Y/N. You were always more than that to me."

He lightly tilted your chin up with his fingertips and let his lips softly press onto yours. You immediately melted into his kiss, wrapping your arms around his neck. After a few moments, you two slowly pulled apart.

"That was…" you were blissfully breathless.

"Long overdue?" he laughed softly.

"No! Perfect. It was perfect," you smiled, feeling the tip of his nose brush against yours.

"I'll do it more often then, my nightingale," he winked. Then he sighed. "I need you to come with me. Back to the Academy."

"What for?" you frowned some.

"I need your help with something. A…mission…so to speak."

"Five, I'm not a superhero. I'm ordinary. No magic or powers here," you shook your head rather adamantly.

"Please, my love. I can't do this alone."

"But I have a life. A job. I can't just drop everything and leave," you pointed out, about to go back to your vanity.

"And there might not be anything left soon!" Five blinked in front of you. He gently cupped your cheek as his other hand rested on the small of your back. "The world ends in eight days and I need to stop it. Please, come with me, my sweet. I just got you back and I can't lose you. I won't lose you."

Your eyes widened in shock and bit your bottom lip, unsure of how to take this or how to feel.

He sighed and shut his eyes. "When I time traveled, I got stuck in a post apocalyptic world. And I found the date was April 1st." He reopened his eyes. "I don't know who or what causes it, but we need to start soon if we're going to save the world."

You swallowed hard and nodded slowly. "I'll pack my bags and tell the Director."

"Thank you, my angel of music," Five kissed you again. "I'll wait for you outside, okay?"

You nodded before he blinked out. You sighed and quickly got dressed into comfier clothing. You made a note to message the director about a dire family emergency, though you suddenly felt like you were being watched. You glanced around, wondering if Five had come back, but you would have seen him. You shook your head, going back to packing.

After getting everything you needed, you went to the door and looked at the dressing room one last time. For a split second you thought you saw a mysterious figure in the mirror, but you shook your head and shut the door, going off to join Five.

Haven't made a set in a long while and IT SHOWS! I wasn't really planning on it either tbh, but I've gotten into the habit, or more of a little tradition with myself, of making a set to go with my birthday playlist. Shoulda stuck with a moodboard through, not happy with this doll set, but very much on brand for my vibe this birthday, it's depression, LOLZ.

ANYWAY! Finished my birthday playlist early this time, literally on the first of the month, my cousin dunked on the wip version cause it has old ass bleach ost, so mean! TTwTT apu won't get you the lush stuff I promised for your birthday (it's a lie, I for sure will). Don't really have any concrete plans this year besides a sleepover with my bestie, her hubs, and my little cousin. Happy birthday DENNY HULME!!!!!!!!!!!! (18/06/1936 - ∞) 🐻⚡

Denis Clive Hulme, better known as 'Denny', was born in Motueka in the South Island, New Zealand. He grew up, with his younger sister Anita, on his family's farm in the tiny bay of Pongakawa; his father ran a truck business and thanks to those trucks, Denny showed from an early age his interest for the thrill of driving and speed: while sitting on his father's lap, he learned to drive a truck and by the age of six, he could drive it on his own. He left school early and started working in a garage, from that job he saved enough money to buy an MG TF, to enter hillclimb competitions.

After all the success gained, in 1960 he managed to purchase an F2 Cooper-Climax car and subsequently got chosen, along fellow kiwi George Lawton, for the New Zealand driver to Europe program, that gave them the chance to compete in Formula Junior and Formula Two across Europe. Two years after competing in the two categories, and participating at Le Mans for Abarth, the New Zealander, moved to London, and started working as a mechanic in Jack Brabham's garage, but slowly made his way into the cockpit.

Denny raced for Brabham in F2 races and non-championship events, but finally, in 1965, he got the chance he was waiting for: replacing Dan Gurney, who was busy at the indy 500 that weekend, he made his debut at the Monaco Grand Prix; he became officially a memeber of the Brabham team in '66, when Dan left, and had his first full F1 season. He stayed in the team till 1967, the year he won his first, and only, championship.

In 1968 he took a big step: he moved to the McLaren team, owned by fellow Kiwi, Bruce McLaren, with whom was already teammate in the Can-Am series overseas. But in 1970, despite Bruce's passing, and a serious injury caused from methanol fire, that severally burned both his hands, he undeterrely continued racing, feeling that he owed it to Bruce and the McLaren team; he would stay in McLaren till 1974, before retiring from F1.

Even though he retired from f1, he couldn't stop racing: throughtout the 80s he competed in different Touring cars competitions.

Denny would pass away in 1992 due to heart attack, while competing at one of his favourite events, the Bathurst 1000: he managed to safely stop the car at the side of the race track, he later got transported to the hospital, but there wasn't much the doctors could do.

Denny took part in the infamous 1966 Le Mans with teammate Ken Miles, and was a foundamental part of the McLaren team, especially in the Can-Am series.

He was nicknamed 'The Bear', because of his "gruff nature" and "rugged features", but was a sensible man that was unable to express properly his feelings.

Till to this day he ramins the first and only New Zealander to win the World Championship.

these are just screenshots off youtube, but i think they're just perfect, because they show Ramin is just flawless at all moments. i first discovered this wonderful man when PotO 25th steamed on youtube and i wish i met him sooner! ever since then he has brightened my life and blessed my ears with his steller music. especially during quarantine, just his existence has done wonders for my morale. happy birthday to Ramin Karimloo, the most heavenly diva of this, or any, age 💖
