I finally finished the sewing parts of the shirt I was working on for myself! It's not perfect, and there are definitely places I want to try to do better with next time, but for the first article of clothing I've ever sewn, and a more complicated one at that, I'm very proud of it. All that's left to actually finish it are the closures, and instead of buttons I'm doing snaps. I have some ordered and on the way, but for now it's at least off the sewing machine.
Throwback to a good friend's wedding a couple years back. She asked us to dress traditionally Austrian (or at least inspired). My look read hobbit-esque mori kei because I'm still me. You had everything from very traditional looking dirndl to very flashy cheep looking ones.
Everything handmade by me expect the maroon knit jacket. (vest, blouse, skirt, apron, underskirt and bloomers are handmade by me). The crocheted gold shawl was a handmade present from an old friend of my mum to my mum and she gave me the shawl because I love it so much. The handbag was embroidered by my mum and was either a present for my grandma or my grandma's sister (and came back to us when they died).
I am SO happy with how my first two colour linoprint tuned out! I printed the berries first, then once they were dry I carefully lined up the second block with the leaves and stems and printed it on top.
We swapped kit kat flavours! Peach & strawberry 🍓 🍑
Two strangers complimented my dress today! An old lady sitting down next to me on the subway and a young girl waiting with me at the crosswalk. Random acts of kindness make me happy! Also I love when I can brighten someone's day a tiny bit 😌
Two journals with embroidered covers and one journal with hand-drawn bird illustration using acrylic paint. We used coptic stitch for binding the books.
