I rewatched Halloween Kills today.

(SPOILERS, BEWARE!!)

I LOVE that 1978 flashback scene. When I first saw it, I legit thought it was a deleted scene from the original halloween. The attention to detail was so good. Plus, that actor playing Dr Loomis was amazing!

I'm not a huge fan of the gore... I don't like that Tommy Doyle died, and Marion and Karen...

Paul Rudd was supposed to reprise his role as Tommy Doyle but was busy with Ghotbusters: Afterlife. I'm glad he chose ghostbusters because, A: I wouldn't be able to take him seriously, and B: Rudd looks too young and almost looks the same age as Karen. Idk...

It's weird that Laurie and Hawkins had a relationship going on before, but whatever.

I love this version of Michael Myers, and his mask is superb.

I'd give it a 7/10.

It's not the worst Halloween movie, but it's way more enjoyable than Ressurectuon and Curse of Michael Myers.

On the topic of the Halloween movies, I don't think I feel very compelled to go see the new one after having seen Kills. People are also saying Ends is not great either, which doesn't help. I might catch it at some point later, but for now I'll probably just leave the series be and continue binging through Nightmare on Elm Street or w/e.

Ok so basically most of Halloween Kills is spent with Michael Myers hack and slash through groups of people in increasingly ridiculous odds, to the point where it almost feels like an action movie. The groups get dispatched through sheer idiocy and it just feels borderline contrived. And the worst offender for me is that it's just not engaging like most of the other movies had been before. I know slasher movies tend to be more turn-off-your-brain kind of entertainment, but when he got back up out of nowhere and just started dispatching a literal mob as they just stood there and got taken out one by one... it just lost me.

Yes, Michael is supernatural and evil incarnate and whatever, but that felt cheap to me. I feel like if they REALLY wanted the mob to be taken out of the equation for the follow up, he'd have his typical death fake out, then once they head off and scatter he'd get back up and tactically target them one by one or something.

idk I'm just frustrated, they had done a good job reviving the series with the 2018 movie IMO and then they really fumbled the bag with that one.

I’m just saying. Ninjago fandom. Y’all are doing a big silly. You’re all being very silly guys rn. The whole scene where we see a memorial of cole, and we see Lloyd looking at it and we hear a child say “but now no one knows where they are” actually implies the ninja aren’t dead. It’s implying that Ninjago citizens thought they were, and the fact that Lloyd (who would’ve been thought dead too) is in that scene means the whole “thought dead” thing is wrong. Considering half the ninja are fine, idk why anyone is assuming everyone else died offscreen. The fakeout deaths have altered your brain chemistry. Ninjago isn’t even trying to convince you the ninja are dead, y’all are fakeout death-ing yourselves.

Fr I mean this gently but it’s like half of you are convinced the series is bad before it’s even aired and it’s really starting to smell like cinema sins in here.

before you guys go back to simping for michael myers in halloween ends can we take a moment to admit that mask has to smell god awful 😭

there’s no indication michael would have incentive to take it off at any point if it wasn’t forcibly removed. that mask was burnt, thrown on the ground multiple times, and rotted. this isn’t even mentioning the blood from karen that splattered onto it or any other blood from his own injuries/others injuries OR the dirt and grime from his sewer den LOLL. it literally has cobwebs on it and shit.

that thing must’ve fucking REEKED. god speed to corey for going along and wearing it and laurie for not throwing it away.
