Plus, an alt ver with dyed hair bc I didn’t know what ppl would like more 😭

Backstory: Mike is the middle child out of two sisters, Nancy and Holly. His parents run whatever the equivalent to an accounting firm in the Boiling Isles is. Karen is the face of that business due to her nature, while Ted is more working on the behind the scenes aspects. Ted doesn’t know much about his kids (except Holly) and Karen is so obsessed with appearing as a perfect family, she tends to forget her kids wants and needs in the process. Also, wouldn’t be complete without complete without child labor!! Mike writes and did enjoy it, until his parents saw it and figured out how to use it to their advantage. He writes letters, reports, and whatever else they can find for him to do.

Explanation for Mike’s hair (Pasted from another post of mine): I like to think Karen is forcing him to dye his hair like this because neither she or Ted have black hair and it throws people off. She believes it’s bad for the business they’re running or whatever, idk.

I would like to expand more on that, Mike is 100% Ted’s child (no scandals here, lol). But Karen is so worried about judgment from others, that it forces her to take these drastic steps. That’s probably apart of her offscreen arc or something because I like to think that she’d eventually grow as a person.

Mike’s relationship with Lucas: They were best friends until they were 10. Karen realized that Mike was getting bullied and basically made him change everything about himself, including his friends. Weak people have weak friends, strong people surround themselves with strong connections. They really stopped talking to each other when Mike stopped saying anything against Lucas’s bullies. He became a bystander.

I know he’s supposed to be the Amity of this au, but I really can’t see him bullying anyone. I think what’s more accurate is him repressing his true self and feelings, then meeting Will and essentially becoming himself again.

Relationship with his family: Mike is just a kid so he does love his parents. However, sometimes he wonders if they actually love him, or what he can do for them. At times, he feels like more of a prop than their child.

He loves his sisters as well, but isn’t close to Nancy. He tries to make sure to be the best brother to Holly that he can be.

I’ll tell more about his relationship with Will in another post but I might add onto this later!! I dunno yet 😭

Oh god I hate the Daniel is the real villian take too. Because not only is it down playing all the horrible shit Johnny(and his friends) did to Daniel, its also makes it seem like Johnny was in the right treating Alison that way too. Yes a lot of the reasons why Johnny and cobra kai are the way they are is do to generational trauma and shit teachers. But that in no way excuses it. Daniel is in a way right about cobra kai, he just goes about it the wrong way and goes too far into black and white thinking. Plus his trauma too.

I’m convinced Eddie had a big fat crush on Nancy in Middle school/ early high school. She was never “popular” before then, she was a regular girl. She stuck with Barb and maybe a few other close friends before Steve. Eddie thought he would have a chance with her but Steve came along and swept her off her feet. So he got over it, I think that’s what his whole speech to Steve was about in the upside down idk ¯\(ツ)/¯

In the first few episodes of S4, I thought El was going to get her powers back randomly and go "Carrie" on all those bullies.

But it didn't. Nice to see that someone had the same crossover idea as me.

Things I dont get. When people say Steve was a jerk before becoming better person. Is it bad that I say I dont honestly ever seem him as jerk? Even before he was nice to Johnathan? Johnathan was a creep. Barbara was obviously jealous an based Steves personality on what she sees on other popular people. From my view of Stranger things steve was really nice. Even to Barbara. For the most part, I just see Steve having shitty friends. And falling into the problems of popularity.

Steve didn't hang out with the right crowd, that's for sure.

On the surface, yeah, he is a nice guy. He cares about Nancy. Yes, he did beat up Jonathan, but that was because he thought he and Nancy were doing stuff behind his back.

I haven't seen S1 in a while, so the details are fuzzy.

Barb and Nancy were the studious best frie ds that were the "perfect" kids, while Steve was the popular jock that probably wouldn't want to be caught dating an "unpopular" girl. I understand why Barb didn't like Steve because she knew he just wanted to "get into her pants," and she was right, but it's not like Steve left Nancy after that night. That wasn't his ulterior motive, however, so I understand that.

I don't know if you ship Stancy, but I don't. I think that ship has sailed. Especially by S4, yes, Steve and Nancy do have feelings for each other, but not the same life goals...

Jonathan's character is on the back burner at this point, so idc about Jancy right now. Wait. I do like Jancy, but S4 was all over the place with them. It's up to S5 to change my mind.

You ever see a take on a character from some random person on tumblr and just nope the fuck out of there when its so completely wrong. Yeah thats my take on the 'luz is the actual bully take'. Like take luz issues and do a complete 180 on the wrong way.

The only thing that comes to mind is Daniel being the villain in Karate Kid from Johnny's POV, but I would say that's far off....

But yeah, some people aren't good at analyzing characters sometimes and put a completely different take on them

no but. THIS is why lucas is so good for max. because instead of blaming her for being upset, or treating her badly, he approaches his parents (a happily married couple) and asks honestly how to handle the situation. because he is so earnest and good and he wants to show max she can trust him. lucas is a goddamn king and we don't talk about it enough

I hated s1 Steve, but they obviously turned his character around in s2 and now he's the fan favorite.

Yes yes I know she was an absolute bitch to El and she definitely deserved that roller skate to the face, I was actually cheering during that scene (El should of hit her more than once though - I wanted to see her go maniac)

But I feel although Angela doesn’t deserve to be just a one time super underdeveloped bully. I’m so convinced that one of the reasons she bullied El so much was because she is actually a closet lesbian.

But no; I don’t think she had a crush on El. I think she’s gay and bullied El because was jealous of how happy and open and honest El was.

She wanted to be like El. I can’t imagine anyone actually being happy when they are expected to be the Queen Bee (pretty, popular and cool) at all times and can’t be open or honest with their sexuality.

It says on the Wiki that Angela had a boyfriend (Jake - one of the guys she was often with) but they definitely didn’t act like a couple. More like friends. Maybe she only dated him to keep up her persona as the straight Queen Bee.

ALSO! Isn’t it incredibly sexist that the whole fandom went nuts for Billy, the racist abusive bully of S2, but I can’t stand a princess bully in S4? Angela has done nowhere near as bad as Billy (she was mean to El A LOT but Billy was racist and physically abusive towards Lucas and emotionally abusive to Max and tried to bully Steve) but yet the people who love him hate her. This fandom is fucking disgusting sometimes.

I have a feeling that a lot of people are gonna hate me for this. But it is true; Angela is just a normal bully which is normal for her age (and her issues) but Billy was on a whole different level.

Also all Angela possible issues that I just theorised about DO NOT make what she did to El ok at all. Just because I feel sorry for her and find her interesting, does not mean I’m excusing her actions so quickly.

Me too! Okay, honestly being a woman, a female in general sucks. And sometimes its cathartic to see a woman in horror allowed to go off (completely off the rails crazy)on a man ok. Especially an annoying man. Honestly I do not like Paul Sheldon(no offense to Stephen King's self insert character 🙄) but both in the book and movie I hate how Paul says writing romance novels are trashy and he wants to write better stuff. Ok dude bro. Insulting your fans and insulting genre of writing, and insulting women in general with your misogyny. Like the white man privilege. You can very easily write whatever you want and actually get to do it and be taken seriously because your a white guy. But fine whatever. I just love movies/books like this, and gone girl, and anything with Harley Quinn because finally girls can go crazy.

Yeah, there's just something appealing about women getting revenge on the men who hurt them...

I should read/watch more Stephen King stuff. The stuff of his I've seen is very interesting.
