So once upon a time, I'm sure we all know the story of how JK got Jimin to stop dieting unhealthily.

Exhibit b) The live they did after their UN speeches.
V is the one who starts the whole thing by making fun of Jimin apologising after he made his mistake during his speech. (I already talk about JK being there for Jimin here) Other members chime in and at first Jimin is laughing with them. But then at some point he stops laughing, just sits there as they continue to make fun of him. Then he starts chewing on his nails which alot of the time is a sign of nerves
And he absolutely shrinks in on himself. Of course JK notices immediately and that's when he tells the members to cut it out. He tells them how they should be making Jimin feel better. Not making fun of him. Immediately all the members, at the same time, backtrack. They start praising Jimin and saying how they get it.

Yes. Seven. The summer song of the year. Love to watch it. Love to hear it. So, I think we can all agree its a sex song. Period. That's what it is. It's a proper love making song. A topic we love to discuss on this side of tumblr.... but, have we stopped for a second to explore the romantic side of SEVEN?
So we established SEVEN is basically satellite Jeon in a nutshell. Which that alone is quite big. Always wanting to be with your person, next to your person no matter what. But JK chasing after his love interest from beginning to end till she gives in shows;
He would do anything for the one he loves. He would walk through fire. Through storms. Go anywhere... if it means its for the one he loves. He is devoted, he is all in. Deeper than the ocean. And this is basically what this post is all about, really. JK's devotion for Jimin. Deeper than the God damn ocean.
Then we have this part

So what we have discovered is that JK is a generous lover... a considerate lover... Puts his partner first. JK is a "it's okay baby, you can tend to me later, this is about you" kind of guy. He is the "I won't come until you've cum" type of dude.
In other words, his lover is the priority.

Jikook don't have an only fans so we haven't seen this in action and there4 have no way of knowing that JK is like this in the bedroom. BUT, considering the fact that he prioritises Jimin all the time, we have seen this happen, I dont see why we can't assume this part of him extends to the bedroom too! Right? Like, its gotta be the case.

Jimin made the group ramen (his specialty) and as u can see JK was already telling him how perfect it tastes and yet he hadn't even tasted it yet. Even editors noticed 😂😂
Bv 1 finale no one praises Jimin's santa and he laments as much.
We know our Mimi loves to be complimented and praised; absolutely feeds off of that shit. And JK knows this which is why he immediately tells Jimin "yours is the best" Jimin is so happy to hear this, cheeses so hard that even the editors notice.
Gosh... he was so happy 🥺🥺 Jimin has a praise kink and JK is great at fulfilling this. Aaah. Shit. Now I'm wondering if this extends to the bedroom 🤔 I'm pretty sure it does 🙈🙈🙈

Something about this moment drives home to me the fact that Jimin doesn't cook well, at home. JK does. But we already knew this from Jin ("Jungkook is Jimin's chef")
On the topic of praises, when other members try to make fun of Jimin JK will quickly make sure Jimin knows he doesn't feel the same way. This and exhibit b are like sisters. They can go hand in hand 😆
So Bon Voyage season 1 Jimin was cooking for Jin. As soon as Jimin placed the plate on the table JK did not once take his eyes off of it.
And, this was after JK kept going to keep an eye on Jimin cooking even though they weren't team mates or nothing. I'm telling y'all, Jimin sits pretty at home while JK does all the cooking. Anyway, when Jin tastes the food he says;
But the way he says it, its like he's taking the piss. It wasn't complimentary. So JK of course went;
And he couldn't get to that dish fast enough
And he devoured the rest of it
While the rest, mind you, are still making fun of Jimin/his dish. But JK didn't give a shit. His baby had made that plate and by God he was going to enjoy every second of it.
Once again, to me, this cements my theory that JK doesn't get to eat Jimin's food often. He gets way too excited when Jimin cooks, can't wait to taste his food, etc etc.
Which brings us to our next example where one time Jimin brought the entire group cucumber drinks and they hated it. Jhope goes on to explain just how much they hated the flavor.
There is a chorus of all the members agreeing with Jhope and even Jimin accepts that the cucumber drinks were terrible. But low and behold, look what the boyfriend had to say about it

Look, in JK's eyes, Jimin can do no wrong, okay? To JK, Jimin is perfect and that's that. End of story: No further questions. This behaviour is what I was talking about on my whipped post here.
Exhibit e) When JK checks on Jimin.
I don't gotta show many examples of this we've all seen it. JK always craning his neck over members to see what Jimin is up to. He always likes to know where Jimin is, what he's doing, which imo is amazing boyfriend behavior if u ask me.
A moment I've never seen talked about anywhere from BV 1; JK comes into the RV to check on Jimin who's sleeping.
I know he came to check on Jimin because he walks in, takes a peak, then walks back out. Almost like he had confirmed Jimin was okay and now he could go about his business.

He’s unable to control his emotions here and it could endanger Kirk (possibly McCoy)

- “I’m gonna cut them.” Oh okay uhm no I don’t think that’ll go down well for you

so yeah, since some people have asked, i’ve decided that i will, make a story of this🤭 because i’m bored and well, why tf not.
warnings: angst, smut, mention of b!ood.

why can i picture her being quaritch’s daughter, who tries to kill lo’ak but she gets captured by neteyam and by the end of it all, quaritch finds out she now belongs to both lo’ak and neteyam😭🤭

“Y/N, you understand how this works, right?” My father asks, after explaining the rules to me for the hundredth time.
“Yes father, I understand” I reply, as I’m sat in my link unit, ready to transform into my Avatar.
“Colonel, it’s time to go” Lyle, my father’s second-hand man. Who also works for the RDA.
It was no doubt, he mooched off my fathers ass, for reasons I could not comprehend. My father had nothing special about him.
But it has nothing to do with me.
Right now, I have one job to complete, which I have been training for, for the past seven months.
Revenge.
I lay down in my Link Unit, my father stood beside be as I was getting belted up by some of the science guys.
“You got this kid. I believe in you” he tells me.
I give him a nod back, before looking straight, ready to start my journey, as an Avatar, in the world of Pandora.
My revenge? It includes my mother, and what the Na’vi people had done to her.
I was barely of age to remember, but my father told me about her as I grew up.
She was a scientist. Studying here, alongside a friend of hers; Grace.
They had been studying Pandora for many years, looking into the depths, below and beyond.
However, one day, things got turned upside down.
My father told me, that the night my mother had died, she had died alongside her friend, Grace.
The two of them being caught up in some feud, between the Na’vi and humans.
His exact telling was that there was a female Na’vi, who goes by the name of Neytiri. And her Husband, who goes by the name Toruk Makto.
They were the reason for my mothers death, even when my mother did no wrong.
So now, I must do what is right, and fight back, alongside the rest of the RDA.
My mother may have been soft.
A delicate, scientist. However, I was bought up by my father.
And thank god, I was my father’s daughter.

I walk into the woods, as quiet as I possibly can.
My father trusted me, that I can do this on my own. And I don’t plan to let him down.
Which is why, I have chosen to take my own route, away from the others.
They might be a lot older than me, but I am a lot better. I trained hard, with my hands.
Most of them use guns, and machines.
But let’s be realistic, fighting a Na’vi, it takes more than guns and machines.
I continue to walk through the path, and for the love of god, my boots were not doing me justice in staying quiet.
The way they make a squelching sound, touching the wet mud. I honestly just wish to take my shoes off, at this point.
I hadn’t realised, but my fingers had decided to make their own way around the forest, as they brushed against the very many plants besides me.
The rain was heavy, and it was quite dark. But even then, everything seemed beautiful.
A lot more beautiful.
“Keep up!”
I hear a males voice, when my ears suddenly perk up.
I’m not sure why they do that, but it is a weird, Na’vi thing.
“Where is Lo’ak? We have duties to attend to, what is that Skxawng playing at!”
His voice comes with an accent. So it is definitely not one of ours.
I run towards a bush, hiding behind, my eyes peaking through the cracks.
Two, tall figures. One male and one female.
His waist is slim. I’m not sure why it was the first thing I notice, but, it was. That, and the fact that his skin was glowing.
His eyes were bright yellow, the light in the sky reflecting in his pupils, as he stood in front of the female.
His arms crossed, and his lips pressed together.
His facial expression clearly showed he was feeling agitated.
Annoyed.
“Dad will skin us. Not just me, you too Kiri!” The male speaks.
“Neteyam, relax. We will find him!” The female shouted back.
The two then had gone back and fourth.
“When I find him, I’m going to kill him!”
“Please, Neteyam. Stay calm.”
“Calm? This fucker had run off after a disagreement, and now I have to pick up the pieces! To look after this shit, before mother and father get back!”
“And we will find him. He will most likely be at the old shack. Now please, stop shouting! For the love of Eywa, you are hurting my head.”
I have learnt, of Eywa.
My father had taught me. The same way we have a god, they have Eywa. She was like a god of nature.
“Neteyam, are you seeing this?” Kiri then points down at the ground, behind him.
I noticed her hands. She has four fingers. Like me..
How is that possible? All Na’vi people have three fingers?
“They’re too big for humans” Neteyam noticed my foot prints.
He bends down in front of it, the palm of his hands touching the ground as he observes my foot print.
I’m praying to god- or Eywa, in this case, that I am not found.
“Avatar?” Kiri asks.
“They look like it. But no Avatar’s have been around here” Neteyam replies.
“We must tell father about this” Kiri whispers.
“And we will. But first, we must find Lo’ak” Neteyam replies. His voice now sounding concerned, compared to a couple of minutes ago, when he was shouting.

im also losing my God damned MIND at all the people acting like she somehow brought this on herself by asking what was wrong. i already got into an argument with someone in the notes and had to block them over this so im going to put this less generously than i might have otherwise: if you can't read that story and conclude that OP was pouting specifically to make his gf ask him what was wrong so he had an opening to be petty, you are not emotionally mature enough to be drawing conclusions about it. exhibit A:

Somewhat horror at beginning, and Suggestive (I mean it’s carnival Jax so y’all should’ve expected it/hj)

God damnit. God damnit. This place is so hard to get around, it doesn’t help that the crazed rabbit has a timer for your demise set in the background, the soft ticking didn’t help with your unease. Just stay alive. Just stay alive— how the hell would you do that when a character with fucking CARTOON PHYSICS is chasing you around??
You had to stop yourself from murmuring this whole time, you wanted to cuss out yourself or just the whole level, but you knew making noise would only, most likely, draw him to you sooner. You were snapped out of your thoughts as you bumped into something in the little hallway you were in, the case on top of the little wooden desk falling to the groin with a crash— why is there a vase in this level?! What would he even use that for?! It was just a noisemaker, that was the entire point of it being there, such as in other games…
You fell along with the vase, almost tripping over the desk itself. Great, great, now you were just on the floor and bleeding-… wait… no. This isn’t your own blood… you didn’t pay much attention to how the floor looked before, to busy trying not to die, in messy letters, his own name, ‘JAX’ had been written all over the floor. Oh god and some of this was blood that isn’t even dry yet, that means he killed someone recently. That is not helpful for your slim hope at survival.
You suddenly see text appear in front of you
‘Y O U G O T C A U G H T !’
It took a moment to process, your body started shaking slightly with fear as you looked back and saw him just standing there. Oh god he looked fucking insane.
“You players are all talk. Bullshit.” Jax scoffed, he hated these humans… selfish. “Hehe… hehehe… HAHAHA!”
He started laughing like a maniac, you could only feel yourself trembling in fear, was he just taunting you? Did he really have that much spite to make your last moments only be full of his mockery? It seemed so.
“ L E T S S E E I F Y O U B L E E D O U T F A S T E R T H A N T H E O T H E R S !”
He held his mallet over his head, you would’ve laughed at how comically large it was, if he wasn’t about to bash your brains out with it. You panicked and just desperately tried to crawl back, it seemed to amuse him “J-Jax! Jax please..!” You pleaded, it was a bit pathetic, in all honesty, but, Jax paused, for another reason, as he watched you shake and plead pathetically.
“…What did you say?”
You slowly uncovered your face, which you had covered out of instinct before, “That’s… T-That’s your name, right…? Jax…?”
Jax usually would’ve killed you, but… he didn’t feel like it now. Someone was saying his name… and they looked pathetic when doing it. It kind made him feel better to see a player of all people, shaking and pleading to him. “..Say it again.”
“Uh- okay… Jax.” You were very confused on what this all meant…
Jax slowly approached you, who was still on the ground and shaking, he knelt down to look you in the eyes, he roughly grabbed you by the hair, “…Hm..” he made a little hum, as if contemplating what to do with you. He gave your hair a soft tug backwards, to which you let out a soft whimper.
Jax’s confused and thinking expression from before, slowly turned into a smirk, oh he knew just what to do. You seemed so.. obedient. Heh, willing to do whatever he said to survive. Maybe he’s okay with you for a bit, definitely in more ways than one. “Oho, I have a fun game in mind that ensures neither of us will forget my name, ever.”
You gulped, not sure if this was positive, or not, you knew it probably wasn’t.
Jax tugged your hair roughly again and pressed a rough kiss to your lips, you immediately went red, you didn’t expect that. You can’t help the soft flustered noise that escaped you. He pinned you down against the ground, him above you, and you were under him… all defenseless. You felt his free hand softly grip your thigh.
After what felt like forever, Jax finally ended the kiss, you were a bit of a trembling mess, with how sudden and passionate this all was “W..What was that f-“
“Sshhh… be a good girl, and you’ll get a treat..~” Jax purred softly, his hot breath ticking the back of your neck. Oh god he was terrifying, but also hot, fucking not, and you were overwhelmed with the fact that he kissed you too, oh god he kissed you. He called you a good girl… a good girl. Oh even if you wanted to escape right now, you couldn’t deny that being called a good girl made you a little more hot under the collar.
Jax nuzzled his face into your neck, you were about to question it internally, until you felt a deep bite, “J-Jax~!” you gasped, oh good, fuck… fuck that was hit. Did he just bite you? Oh god…
“Mmh, thought so..” he purred to himself, oh he sure was right, you’d definitely scream for him tonight.
Jax roughly licked the blood from the deep mark he made, he purred seductively, “You’re never going to forget my name when I’m done with you…~”
Your body trembled in his grasp, oh the anticipating and what he’d already done, was killing you. Yay by looking at his face, you could tell he wanted much more than just to kiss and bite you to make you say his name, your face flushed at the though, she tried a bit to wriggle out from under his grasp, he pinned you down into the ground rougher, his insane personality was still there as he teased, “Aw, my little human doesn’t know how to behave themselves. I need to teach you some manners, toy… I’ll make you a good girl for master~”
“A very good… obedient girl for me…~” he growled lustfully, his free hand already exploring your body, and oh you wanted to let him, you wanted to just sit there and say his name all day.. unknown to you, you’ll be screaming it for the rest of the day, instead~

i feel so called out by the commuter student who can't drive bc even though i can my anxiety refuses to let me drive on the highways 🙃

Anyway no yeah, Rose, like I be telling everyone if you're not going to live on campus you have to get your license because I mean it when I say you almost can't do shit without it esp cuz clubs meet after classes end. Like, I couldn't actually drive to uni until I was in my junior year and even then since I was new I feared for my life that first year!
Honestly a slight TMI but I remember at the time when my parents told me that I was in middle school. My best friend at the time just came out as bisexual and our parents were close, so her parents would tell mine that they were hoping it was just a phase (it wasn't) and also at that time I think anti-lgbtqia+ tensions were so high where we lived so when my mom told me that, of course, at the time I felt so betrayed by her because she had various family members in the community. But looking back at it in hindsight, I get it. If I was her, I don't know how I'd protect my young child, who was barely entering her teens, from a society that already hated who she was because she was a racial minority.

People (and by people I mean cunts) get stuck on the fact that Mayrik was Rey's ride to Jakku, but it was Rey's Parents and Niima the Hutt who made her a slave. Not Mayrik.

Her anger would have to be with Tahleea, who is already dead in part because of the safe decision making that led to her brining Rey to Jakku in the first place.
are we going to forget that rey still forgive Mayrik 2 min after meeting her ghost? are we going to ignore Aliana woodifying her mom every 5 seconds? and it's not like mayrik's death was some kind of poetic justice btw in two loving mothers she seemed HAPPY having such a great mother figure... jesus just change aliana to a white guy and you'd have a fucking hysteria by that point
Ultimately Tahleea's crimes are miniscule. If it hadn't been her, it would have been someone else.

also wish they did more with them out in the country and like maybe doing something at a regular cabin instead of the robot in disguise ((which ik was the joke/point of how it ended)) but still that wouldve been really wholesome

You're on point. The writer for the new origins really doesn't respect her at all because he found the stupidest way to involve her here in this new origins plot
Apparently Margali now didn't find Nightcrawler through cheer stroke of luck/miracle or through Azazel (someone she knew for a longtime through their interest in magic) who directly guided him to her/guided her to him
But through Destiny herself, who tipped her to where Nightcrawler was left behind by Mystique when she went back inside the castle Destiny was still at to check up on her
I'm not making this up
We don't get anymore context than Destiny saying "I didn't want to let him go... D-didn't want to tell that old witch Szardos where to find him, b-but... Oh god... It was the only way...". Just casually dropping this info on our laps and moving on instead of answering the important questions like. Why tf would Margali listen to Destiny, someone she's never shown to know about/ever mentioned before ? How did they met in the first place ? Why was Margali interested in doing this for her ? Do they have history together ? When ?? (That quote also casually making it seem like Margali is a bad pick from the get-go thank you)
Same with Azazel.
Because Destiny also tipped him on where Mystique was before the affair to kick start the whole thing... Even tho Azazel has known the Baron for far longer than Mystique has been masquerading as his human wife since he was a business colleague of his.
Like why would either Margali or Azazel even listen to Destiny of all people instead of being suspicious of her at all when she'd first show up before them
And how did Mystique not notice any of this ??
Its so funny how they keep trying to give Destiny more importance in these stories than she really needs. Like oh yeah now she needs to be the one to contact Margali, instead of you know her loverboy Azazel. The other funny part is that Azazel already told his own version of this tale so now we have Mystique a known liar telling us this origin story vs Azazel who whilst evil seems more reliable when he is talking about things.

Also I have started to see people say this retcon is a win and this was Claremont's original idea which you know its not really is it, it really wasn't Claremont's idea for Kurt to have like 4 Biological parents was it? I also see these fans misunderstanding the comic and quickly going to rewrite wikipedia pages and the marvel wiki saying "Azazel isn't actually his father" and "Presumed Genetic Father" using X-men Origins Blue: 1 as the source.

it was great, I loved it, I enjoyed it, so much of it was just perfect, the casting, the chemistry, the development of their relationship - amazing
obvi they had to cut a lot bc limited time etc but I'm still bitter about June and the cornetto scene lol - I saw people say that it should've been a limited series, and I lowkey agree (plus the emails! obvi it's a different medium, and there were a few, but with how big impact they had on the story at the end, a series could devote more time to them fr)
I also saw some people say that the pacing felt rushed but i didn't feel that tbh, it was great
overall, immediate impression: fucking loved it, I cried, I laughed, it kept my attention the entire time (which is difficult lately lol) and now I really wanna reread the book even more haha
it was a fantastic queer romcom, I still wanna cry over it - there were quite a few changes to the book, which always kinda sucks, but as someone usually lowkey critical of adaptations bc I can never get over the changes lol, this one won me over pretty early on, it was just such a great watch, definitely gonna rewatch at some point - maybe after I finally reread the book 😂
also, Taylor and Nicholas need to get all the awards for the best on-screen couple or chemistry or whatever the fuck there is, bc jfc they did amazingly 🔥🔥😂

Like??? Make it make sense???
And I don’t hate the spaceship thing but it does feel random as hell esp bc it affects very little of the actual Greek servant’s writing and, like you said, a lot of the point of the Greek gods WAS their humanity. There was no shift of them being inhuman gods/crazy humans that could’ve been used to slot something like the spaceship thing in, they just added that bc?????
It definitely also seems :/ to me how dead religions (basically i mean pagans don’t worship the same as actual Hellenistic people) and religions that are still currently worshipped are being put on the exact same playing field-like what happened to stuff like fame, popularity relevancy mystery etc playing a part in it. Like yeah the Elusian mysteries might fuck you up but hindusim is the third largest current region on earth, how tf does that not count for anything

quite literally why the hell did they do that. like why did they do that. it felt so unnecessary. like, erasing his existence from the world. i dont know whether it actually altered the timeline, and he genuinely did not do those things, or if everyones memory of the events including his own were removed and replaced with a different story. but either way, it felt like such… a copout to close his story. the most unsatisfying way to tie loose ends.
him learning about what actually happened to niwa… that WAS ENOUGH!!! like it was enough emotional manipulation from dottore to understand why scaramouche went back and killed everyone. ??? like , it felt so unnecessary to do all that.

like, he couldve just as easily got amnesia or something after the fall. we couldve relived his experiences through him slowly remembering his past. and we couldve extended kindness to him after learning about his past. like idk the whole erase myself from existence thing had me stressed. it reminded me of that horror game soma… where people copied their consciousnesses into computers and things and it was pretty clear that where that consciousness began was a completely new person, even if it was an extension of a past person.

okay reading this i dunno if i always thought this probably i did but ive returned to it again and definitively this time. this interaction between dave and dirk is the BEST interaction in the comic and adds so much more depth to both of them who were already GREAT characters. THIS interaction solidifies dave as my favorite character of all time. homestuck is many things but one of its major themes is just trying to become a better person. and i think dave personifies that theme so much. he has come so far and evolved so much as a person that looking back at his early interactions in the comic makes you think you are looking at a completely different character. sure he types the same and has a bit of the same mannerisms but it is so clear that he went from shitty bigoted teenager to a guy who actually cares about the things he says and does and a guy who is actually a good person. he even says in a previous interaction with roxy and rose that he has focused on being a half way decent guy so that when he makes a freudian slip (which he does ALL the time) it wont be anything insane of unforgiveable. i fucking love him and i am so glad this conversation with dirk exists

besides the actual primary hope for any season of billions, which is taylor mason material that can be enjoyed b/c what the hell is the point otherwise, it’s like hey can rian like i don’t know. become comprehensible as a role and you know obviously the main way to define that is like, way to have made The Primary Thing about this character now her being involved in this already semi existent, mostly potential sex scandal, for the love of christ can you instead make the main thing about her character Other Shit She’s Doing, and also can there be an established context of “why is she doing that shit” like, just go ahead and let us know why she is motivated to still be here when her being noncommital & aspiring to up & walk out eventually was a whole thing. is she still just waiting on those camping trip numbers? is her relationship with taylor now like “wow i’m a part of something so i’ll stick around” motivation? could we know what tf that relationship is exactly lmao. why is it suddenly a factor that taylor makes a pass out of the blue and rian’s like sorry, i’m afraid of how much i would love you. is that weird like standing [love interest] status hanging over things indefinitely? is the potential for more of that sex scandal material going to hang over them & us indefinitely or was the point “wow, this is some shit, right? anyways” which we can’t know ig until prince gets run over by a bus and it’s like well i guess that was never brought up again, thank god

Feminism Win we’re introducing one of now three (smash cut to mid s6) one of now four (smash cut to the next episode) one of now three women at this fund and our biggest plan for her is to be the A Young Woman in a sex scandal that’s About this new central character so we can be surprised at how shit he is (=
And when that comes into play it’s also like okay uh is she now just this standing love interest for another character. like that’s fine in theory, the dynamic is baffling in practice, but it’s also sure like. yep this is sure a character who’s a woman huh and is now This more relevant than being taylor’s mentee? are their interactions now Mostly in the context of being each other’s Theoretical love interest, or like, are they friends or. dunno. anyways it’s still like billions there’s all of two other women at prince cap rn. i know others have names and even occasional dialogue but there’s three women here. so

and tragic that an actual friendship b/w rian & winston doesn’t seem possible, nail in the coffin moment when rian will start up an exchange with winston like “haha taylor’s antics, right” and winston’s like “haha yeah” and rian will interrupt like “fuck you, too obnoxious much?” and winston will go “for fuck’s sake :\” like at this point just pretend she’s not there if she’s trying to talk to you, rian’s approach has to change if there’s going to be any genuine positive relationship here at all and there’s zero indication she’s going to change it, so. alas that being established as similar to taylor has this difference of like, taylor shows up and goes “oh this is my funny little guy” and their friendship with him is one of the most important things in their life still, rian shows up and goes “oh this is my funny little guy” and is a devoted bully to this one specific person in a way nobody else around here has ever been. which frankly is Interesting, one of the most interesting things going on with her still like, why’s rian have this bullying tendency that she lets out so immediately and easily and often, and for this long, and with zero indication she’s ever reflecting on the issue? But for this to be actually explored, it’d need to be, you know, actually explored, and b/c of that indication rian’s going to do any reflection or change, seems like another character would need to Note the situation and say anything to her about it that might yield some further analysis, but so far so [nobody has ever done that], would make most sense for taylor to do so as someone who knows winston and knows rian and also these are both their employees and rian’s their mentee or what have you. but anyways it’s like, despite the fact they’re Not friends like mafee and taylor are, sure is Already still inherently more interesting that like, rian’s character just becomes livelier / more elevated when interacting with winston on average, even if half the time that means giving him shit; it still applies. like, again, if rian talking with wags for some reason is Classic / Standard Rian it’s like. oh ok. it’s not that interesting lmfao like she’s....slightly more spontaneous than other characters. has a slight element of individual flair even though that’s been diminished from the degree of 5x05 through 5x07 / pre hiatus rian’s flair tbh. might be allowed to be ambiguous sexuality’d if The Person she was in a relationship with where like bounds & individual privacy beget suspicion is never gendered. (except evidently get ready for the sexuality that is “would fuck prince,” rights.) it’s like well great i guess that she’ll have A Real Conversation with wags that the audience is shown, and all the exchanges she has with winston that seem normal enough are mostly or entirely offscreen, wherein even then it seems to be less of an actual reciprocal exchange vs like. For The Moment rian wants something else from winston than to be her punching bag / entertainment, so instead will converse with him about something without dunking him into hell, until naturally her material with taylor regains prominence and whatever half of a thread she was having with winston is shrugged off. but it’s like, yeah it’s like depressing the longer this goes on lmfao that winston clearly wants Some positive connection with rian, potentially not just including that he did have a crush for a while there though that seems entirely in the past by now, while rian Still doesn’t seem interested in seeing him as a person rather than a source of entertainment in that she apparently enjoys making him feel bad but also just like, if she wants to talk about / get backup about xyz in the first place yeah she May talk about it with winston, but once she’s gotten whatever she wanted there, that interaction doesn’t count for anything beyond that. but again it’s like, rian’s dynamic w/anyone else is not so elevated as it is with winston, even in terms of treating him shittily, which again is like. well that’s fine lmao it’s Something about rian to be sure, this apparent Tendency she has despite talking about not hating, she presumably doesn’t have the like, simmering loathing for winston style of hating but she doesn’t treat him like a person.....like this is perfectly Relevant for billions for a character to be like that, and even potentially for it to never be explored b/c everyone’s like “yes, this is either Correct and/or Normal for someone to treat winston badly, b/c he brings it upon himself” like yeah very billions, even for winston to just never give up on interacting with rian / accept this treatment too as at least normal. idk if the [rian gives winston shit at any time] thread continues it’s like sigh well what else is new. it at least gives the both of them more varied material and generally has Something fun about it, like i suppose they can keep it. but it would also be Something if again it was reflected on in any way, including if you know, there was any consequence that mattered to the person as a way of addressing the matter, as often happens around here, like it Would make sense if at this point winston wants to avoid interactions with rian / is neutral at best towards her if not in the realm of dislike, since you know, she doesn’t care about how he feels save in the contexts of “sometimes i want him to support / help / agree with me on something” or “sometimes i want to make him feel bad b/c that amuses me,” that’s cause for dislike, and we’ve never seen or heard of her genuinely offering him anything more positive in this relationship/dynamic, so. but re: this post it’s also like, this is like the one other person besides taylor that rian even Has some dynamic with, unless you count wags going dad mode the once, when they arbitrarily have a thread for one episode so she can learn to more confidently do research and present it to taylor. which makes it all the more like, well it’s too bad that this rare Dynamic is so unilateral and static then since it’s winston vs the brick wall of rian i guess going “wow i hate his autistic swag and how he’s not mcu cast hot so i’d never think of anything re: him like even casual hookups, or basic respect as a person” and like, another classic inadvertent [billions canon does shit we discuss / What If about, just v slightly to the left] territory when it’s like hey, winston’s sure Juxtaposed with like, ways you’re “supposed” to act to be taken seriously as a cool winner and pedal to the metal Career Ambition shit, huh? seems like this person who’s immediately interested in / relating to rian at her idiosyncratically weirdest & inherently least adapted to this place might be someone to talk to / get input from in contrast with taylor mentoring her. and then apparently her main interest is like, this immediate emotional bloodlust lol to keep him around as a desk toy to kick around, but then suddenly here’s winston and tuk being more of genuinely friends than he’s gotten from any other coworkers it seems, and winston’s approach is just immediate Support and, truly, offering that support just inherently for tuk as he is as a person, Not telling him how to act righter / be more of a cool winner / ramp up the business ambition or anything. and we can only guess if this will result in anything in particular or if it’s just a side joke that won’t really be relevant to anything that happens, since that seems to be the realm to which winston’s consigned, getting the butt of a joke or being a plot device in someone else’s plot arc, and other than that basically being a background extra for all intents & purposes. which as always stated is like well that restricts his character but also other characters who interact with him and Could have a genuine dynamic w/him that affects their own characters, except for that they can’t b/c everyone has to see him as an unserious joke, who knows if the writing overall is only ever interested in that too vs like. yknow like jeez even give him one c plot arc in one episode in one season ever and it’s Not even about him being bullied or something, but i don’t know. but rian’s interest in immediately deciding someone who's so unhot and annoying can be indefinitely pwned by her may never like, be anything that affects her character otherwise, i.e. nobody will ever challenge her on it / she’ll never end up changing her perspective on it (or even just him, either, given that “his physical characteristics” and “his being an autistic character / his entire personality” can’t change too much, unless the latter gets some subplot like hooray winston’s absorbing and perfectly adhering to the organic / diy aba others are inflicting on him, which, No Thanks) then it’s like, this isn’t a very dynamic dynamic, but. it is Something and there’s not much else going on. re: winston my high hopes here are getting to point at the screen like hey, there’s winston. and i guess the devil we know in rian giving him shit is like sigh. well it’s just another possible form of material for them both, huh.
anyways really the tl;dr here is just an even wearier sigh about the odds that the plans for rian as a character even upon introduction were primarily “we need A Young Woman with enough focus to Be focused on for a few eps, for a subplot that really just serves [establishing more shit about prince]” and then “and hey she can be like a mentee for taylor, who will otherwise have no employees by the end of the season, since winston doesn’t count.” and even if it was the other way around, i.e. a mentee for taylor was the primary idea and Then like, and hey, here’s why it’d be great if the character is some early twenties woman (=, again the fact that everything prior about rian is superseded by this accursed sex scandal subplot / element and also all other info about her makes little to no sense trying to reconcile it with her as a character rather than becoming a plot device in ways overly convenient / contradictory to her being a specific character. like, ffs give her something else to do. is [being taylor’s mentee] still a thing? feels like one should more confidently be able to say either way, but i sure don’t know what personal or professional somethingship is between them either way at this point or how it motivates them. i can’t feel that invested b/c the character’s confusing / unclear and now all the less enjoyable for being saddled with this curse being The Most Relevant Thing and where it’s like, give her something else to do so that a) there’s Something Else and b) so that you didn’t just introduce one of few women characters to be “a major player” where that primarily applies to This. please ugh lol even if i’m not particularly interested one way or another b/c the handling of the character so far just killed plenty of interest, just like, on principle. what the hell else do you have set up for her anyways, that’s already part of the problem, why is it that going into this next season there’s so little idea what rian has going on, like what she thinks of taylor and her relationship with them, a hug does not just clarify everything that’s happened nor tell us what terms they’ll be on going forward here, or why she hasn’t been like eh yeah i’ll get the rest of my camping trip money elsewhere at this point. like the moral is a) can this character who is still all of one of three women at prince cap have more going on than “this is the one who had sex w/prince for some reason and that getting out would be unpleasant for her. makes you think” where even if i feel neutral and uninterested in any & all further material for her it’s still inherently positive on principle and don’t really have high hopes for fun at this juncture like how b) it’s like season four all over again re: winston material like well he’ll show up and it’ll be like pointing hey there’s winston and c) the point of billions is fun taylor material and for s7 specifically boy what’s going on with them and philip, a dynamic already more vivacious and comprehensible in a few eps than the dynamic they’ve had with rian for like a season and a half, f
