Hi! Here's some stuff about a celebrity-themed AU I've been formulating in my head since last year. I'll probs post more later when I'm less sleep deprived :')) I do have major ideas though, so hope you like 'em!

☆ passione is a modelling agency/magazine ran entirely by diavolo. it's one of the most famous companies in the world, and also one of the more relaxed ones. technically diavolo's twin brother doppio and doppio's now wife donatella helped form it, but they all agreed it'd be easier for diavolo to head it. doppio works as a photographer there, while donatella is a model.

☆ the joestars are essentially the hilton family of this au. most people know their names because they're famous in their own fields outside of the family. for instance, jonathan is an archeologist, dio (who is now a biological joestar) is a lawyer/agent/manager, jotaro is a marine biologist with several documentaries under his belt, and so on.

☆ if the joestars are the hiltons, then the part 8 higashikatas are the kardashians. they have their own reality TV show chronicling their lives, known by all as keeping up with the higashikatas. some major specials were jobin and mitsuba's wedding, the twins' (rina and joshu) sweet sixteens and later daiya's, kaato being released from prison, and hato's explosive break-up with tamaki damo.

☆ elizabeth is still married to george ii/jorge joestar, and she has her own fashion house known as lisa lisa. working under her are caesar zeppeli and suzi q, who both have their own ideas on which direction the brand's image should go. their rival is kars and the other pillar men's own label. (unnamed as of right now)

☆ diego is jonathan and dio's younger stepbrother through his mother marrying their father when diego was a kid. diego had always been closer with jonathan, while he always had a tense relationship with dio. as an adult, diego is a professional driver and looks after his nephews; dio's own sons.

☆ jolyne has an underground band with ermes and f.f. called the stone frees! they perform at a grungy venue known as green dolphin, named for its famous neon green dolphin sign. outside of performing, they're usually seen hanging out in ermes' sister gloria's restaurant. they tend to give it free publicity where they can.

jolyne also goes by cujoh in an attempt to distance herself from her father, and to prevent herself from being accused of nepotism.

☆ johnny was a former movie star who quit performing after a major accident rendered him unable to walk. his father hired a physical therapist for him named gyro zeppeli, and barred him from any other visitors out of a sense of shame. however, johnny's older brother nicholas tends to allow guests to see him anyway when their father's away. johnny also keeps in contact with rina higashikata, but that's a secret!

☆ josuke (no relation to the part 8 higashikatas) is an aspiring hairdresser/celebrity stylist, and he often asks to practice on other people. he religiously reads the cinderella magazine for tips and ideas on what to do next and his idol is aya tsuji, who he dreams of working alongside someday.

☆ gappy is yoshikage and kei's younger brother. he's not technically a celebrity, but he often shows up on kuwth due to being childhood friends with joshu and rina. people often joke about him being their missing triplet, though he always denies it. he does see the higashikatas as a second family, however.

☆ giorno is a model under passione, which he joined beneath his father's nose at both diego and his best friend perla's suggestion. when dio found out, he demanded for giorno to allow him to be his agent due to his superior connection. refusing, giorno instead left to live with diego whilst bruno bucciarati became his agent instead. the two people who oversaw giorno's casting were man x (will be referred to as michel) and polpo.

☆ after giorno left, dio began to acknowledge his other three sons; donatello, ungalo, and rikiel. he began with taking custody of donatello, and pushed him into joining a modelling agency as well. he manufactured a rivalry between donatello and giorno, though giorno's more interested in saving all his brothers from their father's influence than anything.

☆ jodio and dragona are both popular on social media. dragona enjoys posting ootds, makeup tutorials, and storytimes, whilst jodio does (awful) skateboarding tricks and skits. sometimes he'll join dragona's storytimes and makeup tutorials, or they'll both do various challenges and skits together.

Don’t get me wrong this is fucking hilarious, but this is also a direct result of San Diego not enforcing beach closures when pinnipeds come to breed. These sea lions are protected under the marine mammal protection act which requires us to stay 50ft away from them and not to disturb them. This has been an ongoing issue for the residents of La Jolla who feel there should not be regulations on when to go to their beach. Cohabitation has been an issue here for a while and sadly nothing is being done. The result…

Angry male sea lions charging at tourists. Something needs to change before someone gets seriously injured that could lead to a serious lawsuit and the death of the animal involved. The animals are here, and there is no moving them. We have to learn how to live with them.

40k & D&D crossover

So I've been playing with this idea for a couple of years now and only just recently started to work on it in earnest. So there will be headcanon posts coming/drabbles

So the D&D portion is based off of a homebrew (not mine I'm just a player) but I was making characters based off of the Primarchs and so I then decided hey why not expand upon this.

(God this is going to be messy as it's been ages since I've written last and somehow I recently got my ADHD ass dragged into lusting over COD men so forgive me)

The basis of this is all based on the fact that when Magnus fell to Chaos his soul got shattered (unsure if this was retconed or not) so one of these shards decided to save his brothers and through various points in time (and occasionally a space marine or two because time if flux for this Magnus shard)

* Debating on how much they actually know or if it's all Horus Heresy era knowledge. So when they all were brought to this new place the Heresy was still raw for them all. However they are all free from the corrupting influence of Chaos.

The brothers travelled together, which for a medieval setting they were practically a small warband of godlings, unsure of how long they travelled but during that time of them all figuring out their new home without Chaos or the Emperor around they helped Angron with his butchers nails.

Eventually the brothers split either due to a disagreement or just they found a part of the world they wanted to call home but eventually they split apart and each decided to start their own family.

Please let me know if anyone is interested in learning more as I'll need some help with names, classes, and races for some of them.

Hozier's Unreal, Unearth--I am so obsessed with the album at the moment; it's just been on continuous repeat for the past two days. I need to do a full ranking of all the songs.

The Drop that Contains the Sea, Christopher Tin--If you like classical music or choral music or just...like, being burned by the glory of the natural world, this is such a fun album. I found him through his album The Lost Birds which is really, really lovely and romantic and is on the theme of...well, birds and air. This one is more dramatic, harder, and rougher around the edges. Each of the ten pieces is on the theme of water and is sung in a different language--including Proto-Indo-European and Old Norse!! I have become such a fan of his!!

Chemistry, Kelly Clarkson--i am gonna hunt her ex down i swear you don't get to hurt kelly like this (i know nothing about them or their marriage. but still. the album is very nice.)

Recreational Love, The Bird and the Bee--this is my summer, driving around album. I still love it, years and years later. It's so fucked up, but so catchy.

yes yes I can indeed tell you about it :) :) I'm really normal about this play !! this is really fucking long by the way uh. definitely the longest post I have ever made

i explained the synopsis in an earlier ask so there's that, gonna put a cut because this might be long !

spoilers for wait until dark both the play and the movie

tw for mentions of violence, death by strangling, knives, heroin, and discussion of dead bodies from a costuming perspective

THERE WAS MEANT TO BE A CUT HERE BUT IT DELETED AND I CANT PUT IT BACK AHH

okay so this is mostly going to be about the characters and the costume designs we have so far. so we're in the second week meaning we've started analysis and characterizing through mood boards and seen the cast read through the full play (we <3 table read day) next week we do measurement day and then consultations with the actors and get the final mood boards approved by the director

basic plot summary a bit more expansive than the synopsis- harry roat, a con man (the main villain) is hired by a woman named lisa to steal a doll (full of diamonds, heroin in the original movie) back from a new york couple that has ended up with it by accident. roat enlists the help of carlino, a brawny ex-policeman, and mike, a kind ex-marine by drawing them to Sam (an ex-marine and photographer) and Suzy's (a fierce and strong blind woman) apartment where he has murdered Lisa and hung her in a closet while sam and suzy are away. roat blackmails mike and carlino by making them suspects in lisa's murder. mike's involvement with roat is not revealed to the audience until later. a recurring theme in the play is sam's desire to have Suzy be independent and not rely on Gloria or him to do things for her. as a result, she is extremely precise and independent.

suzy is visited by all three con men in quick succession while sam is away, and mike gains her trust under the guise that he worked with Sam in the Marines. however, the con men misjudge Suzy to be extremely dumb because of her blindness, and, with the help of her neighbor Gloria (a tomboyish 13 year old girl that helps with the groceries sometimes and has a pretty bad family life), she figures out the plot to steal back the doll and sends Gloria to get Sam and bring him back home. they find the doll and hide it in the icebox.

eventually, mike is murdered by roat as he frantically tries to explain to suzy that she is being tricked, and roat chases Suzy around the apartment in the dark (Suzy and Gloria have turned out all the lights and disabled the fuse box so only Suzy knows how to navigate the apartment) as he tries to find the doll, threatening her in increasingly horrifying ways and using a towel to keep the icebox open so he can use the light to see her. eventually, Suzy manages to stab him several times and lodge herself in a safe space behind the icebox to hide and wait for sam. when sam and gloria finally come home, they finds roat slowly bleeding out and Suzy trapped and exhausted behind the icebox, pinned in place. finally Suzy manages to get up to unplug the icebox. she does this by herself, without sam's help.

other really interesting things about this play 1. it's only 3 scenes- scene 1 is roat blackmailing carlino and mike, scene 2 is Sam leaving for work and Suzy meeting mike, carlino, and roat (also when we meet Gloria). act 2 is Suzy and Gloria figuring out the con and all the other stuff. 2. there are no set changes- it's entirely set in Sam and Suzy's apartment 3. the use of lighting is really good- the con men often use the apartment's venetian blinds to signal to each other, the main conflict not being what's inside the doll but rather if roat is able to overpower Suzy to get it, the entire last like 10 minutes of the play where roat and Suzy fight happening either entirely in the dark (the audience will be able to see vague shapes but not much else) or with the only light being a single beam from the icebox 4. we have to costume a fucking dead body??? and she has to be hung. so there's either gonna be a mannequin or some heathers movie fake hanging type shit with lack of air makeup. also there's a lot a lot a lot of knife wounds and bruises that will have to be quick changes. we have to have live matches onstage (the actors have to be able to strike them quickly) and real cigarettes that smoke (Suzy needs to be able to smell the smoke) and a working fridge and running water. roat throws a switchblade across the room and it sticks in the wall but the switchblade comes out of a tiny porcelain figure that he calls Geraldine. roat has to speak perfect italian. we have to have access to a shitton of 40s photography equipment for Sam??? so much is going on. 5. our actor for roast is FUCKING TERRIFYING. literally no hate ever for them because they proceeded to give one of the best performances I have ever seen at the READ THROUGH, I was pissing myself in sheer terror, and then I went and congratulated them after the table read and they spoke in their kinda broken English telling me how much they appreciated it and then shook my hand!! and said they were excited to work with me !!

now for me to talk about my babygirl Sam. there are a lot of babygirls in this play. from most to least babygirl: 1. Sam 2. Mike 3. Carlino 4. Suzy 5. Roat 6. Gloria think of Suzy as having 0 babygirl, Sam has 10 babygirl and Gloria has -10 babygirl. hope this makes sense.

anyway we're doing mood boards so here's the one that I worked on for Sam because I fucking love sam (he's such a small character that only one person works on him)

here's why sam hendrix should be your new babygirl. 1. he treats his wife right. they r so sweet to each other I could go on and on and on about how cute they are. they argue in a playful way. he encourages her to grow and fend for herself and this ends up saving her life. she helps with developing his photos. he takes her to the movies and describes them for her. they trust each other soso much and they love talking to each other and Gloria is their adopted child. I don't make the rules. 2. he's a photographer!! he does weddings ! and babies ! because he needs to photograph happy things after coming back from war. their first date was in the baby ward at the hospital :) 3. he's a fucking wet cat. his desk is disorganized as hell and he spends all his time in his darkroom. his kenergy is unmatched. he would do anything for his wife. he's smart and funny! he definitely has big sad brown eyes. he really likes interior design. he adopted the local feral cat (gloria) and they love eachother. he's my little wet cat I have adopted him.

yes I am babygirlifying him. yes I am projecting because we both like photography. no I will not be taking criticism.

Whitbread Around-the-World Race sailor, America’s Cup teammate, and in-demand marine engineer Gloria Aurora Borrego reluctantly passed away on February 4 in Phoenix, Arizona.

Gloria started the new year working characteristically hard, energized by her work with Navico Group. She was as gobsmacked as the family and friends who flew to her side to find herself knocked down by sudden illness in mid-January after traveling for work.

She was immediately surrounded by deep love and admiration and was able to share land, sea, and even work stories with her tribe in her final days while swept from the helm of her amazing life by the rogue wave of advanced cancer. Gloria would be 63 years old today.

As young as the age of nine, growing up in Texas and California, Gloria loved to take things apart, investigate how they worked and put them back together. Her parents allowed her to “go for it” and her innate curiosity first took her to automotive engine school and into the NASCAR racing pits. Her fascination with fast was ignited.

Gloria seemed to smell the ocean calling and headed to Key West, Florida where she got wind of the art and addiction of sailing. She brought her recently earned US Coast Guard captain’s license with her to the Keys and found that her excitement for engine systems added much-needed value aboard commercial and racing sailboats, fishing vessels, and powerboats.

Sad to learn of the passing of Actor Burt Young (1940-2023)

Burt Young, the Oscar-nominated actor who played Paulie in the “Rocky” franchise, has died.

He was 83 years old.

Young died Oct. 8 in Los Angeles.

No cause of death was given.

Young had roles in acclaimed films and television shows including “Chinatown,” “Once Upon a Time in America” and “The Sopranos.”

Born Gerald Tommaso DeLouise April 30,1940 and raised in Queens, New York, Young served in the Marine Corps, fought as a professional boxer and worked as a carpet layer before taking up acting, studying with legendary teacher Lee Strasberg at the Actors Studio.

He had roles in “Back to School” and “Last Exit to Brooklyn”

He guest-starred on many other TV series including “M*A*S*H,” “Miami Vice” and “The Equalizer.”

Later in life he focused on roles in the theater and on painting, a lifelong pursuit that led to gallery shows and sales.

His wife of 13 years, Gloria, died in 1974.

Along with his daughter, Young is survived by one grandchild and a brother, Robert.

last movie: Sherpa; a documentary about Phurba Tasha who is a legendary guide on Mount Everest. It was filmed during the 2016 (?) avalanche that prompted a rebellion amongst the Sherpa guides and talked about the history of climbing Everest, including Tenzing Norgay who assisted Edmund Hilary, and the tensions between the climbers and the people who actually get them up the mountain. 10/10
