I just finished reading "girl goddes queen" by Bea Fitzgerald and I am absolutely obsessed. This book made me sit up straighter every time I opened it because it just feels so empowering. Persephone becoming the Goddess of life and making her own decisions paired with an amazing enemies-to-lovers romcom. I loved it from the first word to the last.

First book this year and it started off amazing. Every young woman needs to read this.

❤️🧡💛💚🩵💙💜
It's about Persephone and how she finds her true power. And about gender stereotypes and what they do to us. And it's about love. And about so much more. I definitely need to read it again.

Well this book was actually quite excellent. Interesting lead an not just because I relate to girls who's parents named them girl, but because she is clever and funny and powerful. Love interested also surprisingly fun and when they finally manage to couple up they are truly one of the great fictional couples along with Morticia and Gomez and Rick and Evelyn. 10/10 would recommend

REVIEW of Girl, Goddess, Queen. By Bea Fitzgerald.
☆☆☆☆☆ 5/5
Favourite Characters: HADES🥰 , Styx, and Persephone.
Favourite Tropes: Slow Burn, Fake Relationships, Hurt her, you die.
Favourite Quotes. "Gone is little girl, Kore. I am chaos bringer. Persephone." ~Persephone
"This is just the beginning. I have gods to dethrone. I have chaos to bring." ~Persephone
Girl, Godess, Queen is a modern retelling of the tale of Hades and Persephone. We meet Kore, a young goddess on the Isle of Sicily. Dementer and Zeus, her parents are lining up the suitors in Olympus for the young goddess. Kore would rather be running and playing with the Nymphs instead of practising for marital life.
Kore, the goddess of flowers, wishes to make her own choice until enough is enough, and she summons the King of the Underworld, God of death, Hades (Can you tell I love Hades yet?!) Kore and Hades look into the River Styx, and what do they see? Zeus and Dementer matching Apollo with Kore, and with this, in anger, a plan was made.
Hades announces to his court that he and Kore would be wed, whilst Kore, now Persephone, starts planting flowers in the Underworld. Talk about silver linings. He's saving her from marriage, and she's doing something she loves.
Persephone learns that Hades isn't the god everyone paints him out to be. He's a man who loves the arts, poetry, and hides that away from the court until Persephone puts it out for guests to witness passing it off as her own to ensure someone besides herself and Styx could see.
Whilst Hades is with the court, Persephone is helping the Underworld, making paradise for the human souls, and during the book, you see the two get closer and closer.
Until there's more human souls than usual, Hades thinks it's something to do with Olympus. He uses his powers of the shadows and staying invisible to the mortal eye he goes to the surface. Zeus thinks it's something from the Underworld causing this famine and not someone from his own court.
Who is it? You already know, but if you're not into greek mythology, I'll let you figure it out.
Amazing book by @chaosonolympus and I would read anything she releases next.
