Writing Update: October 2023

October was touch-and-go, writing-wise—i did, in fact, get things done, but as almost always: not as much as I wanted. (I consistently, I am learning, aim high.) I accomplished some of the goals I set out to achieve at the end of September, but even of the ones I didn’t fully accomplish, I still made progress on.

Total wordcount: 11, 052

Highlights:

Posted the first three chapters of the BDSM AU, Paradigm (which is here)

Made significant headway on chapter 5 of the BDSM AU; the final scene is about half-done

Whipped up December’s batch of Patreon content

Worked on the next chapter of the arranged marriage fic, In Parts and Pieces (here)

Made a shocking amount of progress on the Demon Eskel AU I’m writing with @piceuscelus (here)

Made enough progress to be almost done the paid writing piece I’m working on

Goals for November:

Finish that paid writing piece

Finish and post chapter 5 of the BDSM AU

Start—and hopefully finish—chapter 6 of the BDSM AU

Finish and post the birthday fic I’ve got started

Edit and schedule December’s Patreon content

Start working on January’s batch of Patreon stuff

Writing Update: July 2023

This was a wild month, and for once, I mean that in the best way: while I only achieved some of what I’d planned to at the end of June, I got a “yes” from a publisher (more on this later), which translated to a fair amount of not-writing but writing-adjacent activities for about a week, and I decided to invest in some new tech that is paying wild dividends, re: my output. Because that number, down there? Total wordcount for the month? All but 2k of that was written in the back half of the month, after my new tech arrived.

Total wordcount: 13, 291

Highlights:

Worked on, and finished all my short pieces for Steter Week 2023 (here), of which there are six

Continued working on a gift fic for a friend (albeit not the one I’d planned to)

Banging out Patreon content for August, and beginning September’s batch

Making some progress, even if slow, on the next installment of the Demon Eskel series I’m co-writing with @piceuscelus

Started writing the epilogue/final update on the Kinky Stargent fic (not broken, she’s just a baby)

Worked on chapter 14 of the arranged marriage fic—which is close to done, meaning I’ll probably be able to update that fic soon for the first time in like, three and a half years

Goals for August:

Work on the next batch of Patreon stuff

Finish the Kinky Stargent fic

Get at least the next chapter done of the BDSM AU

Finish and post one of the non-TW pieces I’ve been working on
