“Is it hard finding a housemate?” He couldn’t help but find it strange. Who could pass up a nice house with a beach view like this?

“It’s not. But no one stayed for over a month. They all packed up and ran as if they were chased by ghosts. Some of them even left their belongings and never came back,” she said, moving her hair over her left shoulder, showing a glimpse of her collarbones as pale as the rest of her skin. Gil unconsciously licked his lips again.

“Why?”

“Because this place is deeply haunted.”

ok it's been weeks and the thenamesh brainrot still hasn't stopped so i just need to talk abt them for a second. the sheer devotion for each other and the gentleness they treat each other with??? please, they're so soft, i am literally losing my mind over them

gilgamesh chose to take care of thena. knowing it could take centuries and he wouldn't be able to go around exploring the world bc he couldn't leave thena alone but couldn't take her with him either. he would have to watch her lose her mind over and over again, and yet he chose to do so because he loves her and these sacrifices wouldn't be sacrifices to him because all this meant she wouldn't have to have her memories erased - she wouldn't be forced to forget her family, forget him. they'd have to go through some pain, but they'd do it together

thena chose to be with gilgamesh bc she'd rather be in pain than having to forget the others, most especially him. she trusts him to have an eye on her, so purely and unconditionally. god, the sheer love and devotion in these actions

and like, they're both two of the strongest warriors - you've got gilgamesh who's so big and strong and crushes a hot pan directly out of the oven like paper with his bare hands, who's so powerful and whose punches are literally lethal - and you've got thena who's so fierce and deadly and who loves to fight, and these two know they could be rough with each other, know they wouldn't've to watch their strength around each other cause they know the other can take it - but instead they choose to be so gentle. instead, they share intimate touches and they do so lightly and gently and purely softly and with so much love

gilgamesh was able to look after thena all alone because he was the only one who could take her on all by himself when she gets lost in her old memories. and yet, he never knocked her out as a strategy to get her back - instead he chose to talk to her, peacefully and softly and oh so gently. and it worked, every time

god, i just love these two so much, their relationship is beautiful and literally everything

I recently crossed 500 posts and 100 followers. Very cool. I appreciate all my mutuals though there isn’t much interaction, which is probably both of our faults. Anyway, the above gif, which my computer would not download in widescreen, is one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen. I could just sit and watch it over and over. Can anyone relate? I love how the actors move and how the camera moves. The love and respect these two characters have for each other is so out front. ‘Nuff said

this is actually a really big-brained choice on your end bc you were one of the first people to get hyped when i mentioned i was writing gilthena, so i think of you when i work on this one!!

The apple in Thena's right hand nearly tumbles out of her slack grip. The paring knife in her right is secure. It’s the one thing Thena knows she could never forget; how to hold a weapon. It’s the kind of thing that sinks into your bones, a sharp and unforgiving grip that never lets go. It’s the kind of thing that’s easy.

Sometimes, the things that need to be done can’t be that easy. Shouldn’t be that easy.

“I’m sorry.” She says it more to the window than to Gilgamesh. She feels him still beside her, but only for a moment. The chopping begins again, just as measured and sure as it was before she spoke.

“I know.”

Thena makes a face at the dusty glass. That’s not—

“Gil.”

He shrugs beside her, knife scraping dully against the cutting board. “It’s the truth.”
