I wanna remind everyone who's focusing on underaged drinking surrounding the topic of abuse, that the drinking age in most countries is 18 & the US is 21 (so depending on where she was, it was legal) and that even if she was underaged drinking, she didn't do anything wrong.
She was 18 and doing what majority of people do at 18 - drinking with friends at a party. It's not an invitation for assault, it's not a "putting yourself in that position".
It's as simple as a man abusing his power & any adult who isn't an abuser or an assaulter wouldn't have done it.
Stop focusing on the underaged drinking and start focusing on the shitty abusive human being that still has a major platform who's about to do some PR control.

my current opinion on this (stupid) situation (which could've been solved in private)
i feel bad for both caiti and george
caiti, because she feels like she's been deeply affected by what went down that night (even though she explained it in a way that made george seem like a reincarnation of adolf hitler) and the fact that she's surrounded by friends who hate who she once looked up to
and george, because he will lose thousands of fans to someone who made the situation a hundred times worse than it needed to be and this could've been, yet again, something that could've been solved privately. george had every reason to believe that he was cuddling with someone who was 21+, since she was wearing a wrist band thing with 21+ on it.
here is every lie that caiti said in her accusation:
.she was 'freshly 18' - no she wasn't, she was nearly 18 and a half, her bday is in january and she met george in june
. she claimed that george knew this at the time, but he didn't because she was wearing a 21+ wristband. how funny!
. she had to get up for the touching and yada yada to stop - no she didn't, she came back and sat next to him multiple times
. they forced her to drink - no, they (caiti and her friends) were already very drunk when they came to dream's hotel room. isn't that on them?
. they forced her and her friends to play a drinking game - no, they were the ones who asked to play that drinking game on the second night! again, how funny is that?
. she 'resorted to playing games on her phone so that she could disappear because she was uncomfortable' - no, she passed her phone around to everyone and let them play the game too. hahahahaha
. she didn't bring up half of the people there! god knows why. if you are trying to make an accusation l, you should include every detail and lots of evidence (which ik that she has provided now) and NOT lie. oops, guess she did all of that!
and poor george has to experience the wrath of twitter and the people who just blindly support the victim because he slipped his hand under her clothes - it was totally not as if she was cuddling with him for over an hour before that!
twitter is so fucked up it actually makes the situation hilarious.
they are mocking people who have actually suffered form SA because apparently a man putting his hand around a girl's waist is abuse, sexual assault, rape, molesting and 100 more words meaning 'sexual harasser'
now now, i'm not saying that i don't support caiti - i'm just saying that if she really felt this way, she could've said it in private? why ruin a whole creator's career because he put his hand around your waist and you are having second thoughts 8 months after? why why why?
maybe she felt like she would get the support and attention that shelby was getting? maybe it was her friends?
but whatever it is, it's just ridiculous. it could've been sorted out without cancelling him for something he didn't do.
if you don't agree with me, good for you. go and touch some grass.

So we spent what was left of our serotonin /
To chew on our cheeks and stare at the moon /
Said she knows she lived through it to get to this moment /
Ate a sleeve of saltines on my floor and I knew then /

Does George genuinely have feelings for King James?
Nicholas: At first, their relationship is very transactional. I don’t think he develops feelings until a few months, perhaps years, into it, but there ends up being this very sincere love between the two of them. While there was definitely something for George to gain, the love was very much real.
I’m kind of relieved that they went this way with how the relationship between george and james kind of plays out. That being said, I’m not entirely enthusiastic about that true genuine love thing. Perhaps it’s the scepticism in me because george was george. (Perhaps someone wiser than me can correct me)
Anyway now I’m being to hope that it won’t be george that will poison the king (no poison at all???) or perhaps it will be Mary who does it. Or perhaps Charles?? with Mary????

As far as I'm aware George got removed as one of the creators for Vidcon so I guess they aren't going (kinda glad I didn't buy tickets cause it's the exact same day a big anime/manga convention in germany happens which I visit for years now)
i don't think vidcon kicked george off though, I think he pulled out himself
