Professor AU.

Warning: violence, knives, attempted robbery

You are NOT the main character, despite having your own story, because the world revolves around them. Not you. Never you. You're just the person pursuing their love. You are born to love and adore them.

You are their Suitor.

The story starts the moment you set foot on the city gates of Mondstadt. It was way different than Sumeru's capital city, the air filled with songs from musicians scattered around. A true city of romance and poetry, this place. You sighed, letting the sounds of your surroundings drown out your worries for the moment.

Now, you just need to get back to your rental house. It was a cozy little home, and your landlord has been very pleasant to talk with. You're sure he would find it a nice place to live in, too.

...Your smile drops at the thought of your elder brother. You silently continued to walk in pensive silence, looking around the busy street in foolish hope that you might recognize him in the crowd, as you familiarize yourself with the roads.

"Is he truly here?" you wondered to yourself. Only one way to find out is to begin your search.

You were about to turn to a street corner when a strong hand grabbed your arm and forcefully pulled you in a dark alleyway. You let out a soundless gasp, the air knocked out of you when your back harshly hit the wall. A cold blade suddenly presses itself against your neck, making you widen your eyes. You can feel your hands get sweaty as you will yourself to remain calm.

Great. Just your luck. A mugger.

"Listen here; scream and I'll slit your throat, so don't do anything funny. Quietly give me your mora and any valuables you have. Now."

Just when you were about to reach for your wallet, a hand suddenly settles on the mugger's shoulder, making him look behind him.

"Get MUGGED!" said the man in a cardigan before slamming a thick ceramic coffee mug on the robber's head, stunning the latter man.

"Ugh! Why you—!?"

The robber attempts the stab the cardigan dude when another hand wordlessly grab the wrist of the robber from the left. Before he could react, the man with a pinned up side braid knocks the robber unconscious with a single punch, likely breaking his nose.

You slowly slide down against the wall, your legs feeling like jelly under you, tears slowly sliding down your cheeks as you start to sob. You truly thought that that'd be the end of you; that you'll never get to see your brother again. Oh, Celestia. You've never felt more grateful for a second chance.

"...Are you okay? Were you hurt?"

You look up to see the man in the cardigan looking at you with concern. You nodded, wiping your tears away with the back of your hands.

"Y-Yes. Yes, I'm fine. Thank you so much for helping me..." Fresh tears rolls down your chin.

"Well, I'm glad you're not hurt." The man in the cardigan hands you a handkerchief, a gentle smile on his face that made you subconsciously return it. "You look much better smiling than crying!"

"I called the Favonius enforcers, they should be here soon." The other man enters the conversation. You look at them both and your mouth forms a small 'o' shape.

Twins. And good-looking ones at that. Both have the same double side braids, though the man in semi-casual wear has one of his braids pinned up.

It was when all the drama about the robber and the Favonius police were over that, after the twins dropped you off to your house, you remembered.

You didn't get to ask for their names.

Author note: This is supposed to be an intro to the AU so excuse me for the shit quality, but I swear it'll get better on my next post about them.
