A little while ago I said in a post about midnights that Stonewall and Glaad’s participation in featuring Taylor so much recently seemed suspicious to me, because surely they wouldn’t risk their reputation for nothing. Well, when they decided to give her a platform on the very same day that 1989tv prologue dropped, that seemed a step too far for a lot of people. And as you can see from some of the comments I have screenshotted above, there are very valid feelings being voiced, and stonewall are now officially in the firing line for supporting ‘queer baiting’.

I have a ton of mixed feelings about this. I do recognise the validity of official LGBTQ organisations celebrating all queer lives, including those that are not out. But I also feel a lot of sympathy for those criticising stonewall for celebrating someone who doesn’t openly celebrate themselves and regularly denounces the community in a way that will put them in harms way. Obviously, if she was straight that would make her the world’s shittiest ally… but you can’t ever expect a closeted person to act like an ally. So I want to hear people’s opinions (respectfully!) on whether the price you pay for being in the closet is access to official LGBTQ spaces. Obviously, most closeted people wouldn’t go to Pride, but can you be the face of Stonewall and Glaad if you’re not out or is this too far? (I used Taylor as an example here, but applies to all people)

I stumbled upon this on tiktok and have yet to find a more verisimilar/persuasive + compelling take on "lavender haze." I subscribe to most of what it says to the point where it's made me understand "dear reader" in a different light versus how I did in the beginning. now I can't help but see it as directed towards those of us who see through her queerness and the queer-flagging/coding in her art (couldn't upload the video in full, but it's more or less all the same)

Can someone help me find a Kaylor fic? I don't remember whether it was on Wattpad or AO3, but I do remember the plot. I'm pretty sure it's a one shot.

Karlie and Taylor nap together, and they can only sleep well when the other is there. They decide to take a nap before a party that they're hosting, but forget to set their alarms, so their friends come to find the missing hosts. They coo when they see them sleeping together, but make enough noise to wake them up.

GUYS. we have an interesting case to solve, i.e. THIS photo. we don't know where it comes from or why someone found it on pinterest. now if you try to search for it on pinterest using image search you will find NOTHING. the people in the photo look very similar to karlie and taylor. someone said that twitter is the original source and the tweet is from July. the person who added this tweet does not reply. is this an edit? probably. but why do the people in the photo look so much like kaylor, and if it's an edit, why is it so realistic? this is really strange, because image search would show similar results, i.e. ORIGINAL photo before it was edited. the argument for which I think this is an edit - karlie's hair, which could have been short in the original. argument for which I think it may be a "leak" 👀 - everything else. someone said that it could be from taylor or karlie's private archive or a photo from a <Maroon> music video or documentary. anyway... this is a suspicious situation and I'm afraid that ms tree has started suspending accounts that talk about it. my sources: probably original source and one of twt gaylors who’s talking about this case

hi there! i was a hardcore kaylor from 2014 until about 2017/18. fully believed that josh and karlie had a lavender marriage up until her first baby. i still fully believe in gaylor, and believe that taylor and karlie are doing better after a rough period now, but have always been curious about how those who stayed kaylors possibly explain karlie’s kids. would you mind helping me out there?

hi! thank you so much for sending me an ask! i guess for me, i just don’t think it’s that hard to imagine taylor and karlie loving each other to the point that they’d want to start a family (the lover music video ends with a scene of a family, right? the man, and anti hero as well, depict taylor as a parent.) and due to the nature of their circumstances, that they would have to go about doing that in an… unconventional way. and maybe, had to be adaptable along the way.

as for the specifics of that? i’m really not that picky or in a rush to prove it to people or figure out every last detail, though that’s not to say i haven’t thought it through— i do have thoughts. i think they’re different from a lot of kaylors in terms of their complexity. i think my interpretation is quite simple. but i haven’t made a push to share… i guess what i mean is that comprehending that it’s possible was enough for me to have stuck around these past years.

and so started a grace period and i held out and by the time midnights rolled around and i listened to it, i only became more confident in how i think. this is both from a multi album discography perspective, and also, of course, there have also been a lot of fun easter eggs along the way.

oh honey. i don't mean to be rude but there really is no such thing. there are a few posts and powerpoint presentations i'm sure my friends could link in the comments but so much of gaylorism is just a you had to be there for the posts at the time kinda situation. i don't know if kaylorevidence still exists but half the links in their masterposts are broken anyway. you could search my blog for ship names or just the #gayass tag lmao but yeah this isn't an organized think tank institution.. we're just blogging...

okay so. apparently i never posted anything about it here, but a while ago i started creating this “community wiki” thing called the hairpinfiles. the idea was that people could submit theories, evidence, song analyses, whatever - and it would become an archive of sorts (a gaylor google, if you will).

i made it with obsidian (markdown, aka plain text), git, and tried various static site generators. and i did it that way because that was what i knew. nobody has interacted with it at all, partly because i have very little reach (twitter) and partly because the people that did see it didn’t understand how to use it.

all that is fine, good even. because i realized last night that the “wiki” format doesn’t fit very well with this sort of project. you know what does? a tumblr blog.
