Honestly I think a lot of people who have never made a gif for tumblr don't get that it does actually take time and effort, its not just rip it from a video and post it- you have to download the video, in my case I have a video player installed that grabs continuous caps, figure out what parts you need, you have to open those in photoshop or gimp, depending on where you got photoshop you might be paying for it every month and then on top of that is actually sizing, cropping, colouring, sharpening, adding text, etc. etc. like it is something that takes time and effort for which the only real reward is creating something that makes you happy and hopefully people reblog it with a nice or funny tag, so maybe keep that in mind the next time you think gif makers are being mean or unfair for being upset about reposts. It is its own little artform that is fairly unique to this website, and that's a big aspect of why I have always loved tumblr, if all the gifmakers stopped posting things would be a lot more boring around here.

Resources to help in the everyday grind of Sky:COTL
This guide is for players who have been in the game for a while but may have difficulty remembering all the times for social events or maybe get lost when doing daily quest. If that's you, don't worry! there's many resources out there for every skykids needs! Daily quests:
You can use the official sky discord server to find where is every daily quest, from the meditating shrines to a weird spirit located somewhere in wasteland (truely my greatest fear). I would also recommend Nastymold on youtube! She makes almost daily videos on where to find the daily quests together with updates on sky!
(This is Nastymolds pfp!)
Tumblr media
Shard events:
Yet another sub catogory of our daily quests. If you have difficulty finding where the shard events are located in sky, you can (again) use the sky discord server or a website called "Sky Shards" . I would personally recommend the website as it converts your local time directly to show you when the shards will happen in your time!
Social events:
Ever forgotten when grandma started? Or perhaps you forgot when the geyser is erupting. I have just the website for you! It's called Sky clock. It converts your local time into the website to show you when the social/wax event is starting! from Reset time to Grandma's cooking, you will now have a trusty website to help you know!
I hope this helps every sky kid that reads this! Please stay safe and happy candle running🕯️!

Tips and Tricks for Stardew Valley.
8 minutes I had first made this cheat sheet for my sister back when she was wanting to get into Stardew and of course I share it with any of my friends that are first getting into the game. I think it’s super helpful for those that are just starting out; the ones who have never played the game before. Or the ones that might just need some sense of direction as Stardew doesn’t have a…

Are you too lazy to search for a bunch of variations of a sound effect and spend time implementing them all? Me too!
Here's my favourite gamedev trick to avoid audio fatigue and get away with using one audio clip repeatedly - just deviate the pitch slightly whenever you play it.
Tumblr media
It's a small polish thing but it really help make 'grating' sound effects that can potentially get on a player's nerves blend in and feel way less repetitive. Really useful if you have limited resources or in situations like Game Jams where finding or generating lots of different audio can be too time consuming.
Here's what it sounds like:

Bringing Your NPCs to Life: Tips for Creating A Believable Character Backstory in D&D
As a dungeon master, one of the most important parts of your job is creating believable and interesting NPCs (non-player characters) for your players to interact with. These NPCs can range from shopkeepers and guards to quest givers and powerful villains, and they play a crucial role in bringing your campaign world to life.
However, creating NPCs that feel real and relatable can be a challenging task. In this blog post, we'll be discussing some tips and tricks for creating believable NPCs in D&D. From giving NPCs a backstory to making them react realistically to the players, we'll show you how to make your NPCs feel like real, living people. So whether you're a seasoned dungeon master or just starting out, read on to learn how to create NPCs that will keep your players engaged and invested in your game.
Family and Relationships
Family and relationships are an essential element of an NPCs backstory and can give insight into their personality and motivations. For example, an NPC who has lost a loved one might be more likely to be driven by grief and a desire for revenge.
Family and relationships can also provide hooks for the players to interact with the NPCs, creating interesting and dynamic interactions. It can also create conflicts for the NPCs and the players, and the NPCs can have different types of relationship with the player characters like friends, enemies, mentors, allies, and more.
Additionally, NPCs can have complex relationships, for example, an NPC who has a love-hate relationship with one of the player characters. Knowing the NPCs family and relationships can also help the DM to create a believable dialogue, as NPCs can have different roles in the family or society and it can affect their actions and motivations.
Childhood Experiences
Another crucial component of an NPCs biography is their early life, which has the power to influence their personality, worldview, and moral principles. An NPC who was raised in poverty, for instance, might be more motivated by a desire for money and status. Childhood memories can also serve as springboards for the players to engage with the non-player characters (NPCs), resulting in engaging and dynamic interactions. The early experiences of the NPCs might influence their beliefs, values, and worldview, and it can also lead to disputes between them and the players.
In addition, NPCs early life experiences can affect their talents and aptitudes; for instance, an NPC who grew up in a conflict zone may be better at surviving and engaging in warfare. Additionally, it can affect how they feel and think. For instance, an NPC who experienced abuse as a youngster may struggle with trust or develop PTSD. As NPCs can have diverse perspectives on life and the world based on their experiences, knowing the NPCs early experiences can also aid the DM in crafting believable dialogue.
Education or Training
An NPCs education and training can give meaning to their talents and abilities and are a significant part of their narrative. Knowing what an NPC has studied or received training in might help determine their level of skill and knowledge. A skilled wizard NPC, for instance, may be more motivated by a quest for power and knowledge.
The players' interactions with the NPCs may be made more fascinating and dynamic by means of education and training. As the education and training of the NPCs may impact their views, values, and worldview, it can also lead to disputes between the NPCs and the players.
Additionally, NPCs education and training can shape their career and occupation, for example, an NPC who is a trained engineer might be more likely to be a successful inventor or architect. It can also shape their social status, for example, an NPC who has received a noble education might be more likely to be a member of the upper class. Knowing the NPCs education and training can also help the DM to create a believable dialogue, as NPCs can have different perspectives on life and the world based on their education and training.
Career or Occupation
An NPCs career or occupation can also play a role in shaping their backstory and provide context for their skills and abilities. Knowing what an NPC does for a living can give insight into their skills, abilities, and motivations. For example, an NPC who is a shopkeeper might be more likely to be driven by a desire for wealth and success. A career or occupation can also provide hooks for the players to interact with the NPCs, creating interesting and dynamic interactions. It can also create conflicts for the NPCs and the players, as the NPCs career or occupation can shape their beliefs, values, and how they perceive the world.
The NPCs career or occupation can shape their social status, for example, an NPC who is a noble might be more likely to be a member of the upper class. It can also shape their reputation, for example, an NPC who is a notorious thief might be feared or respected by other NPCs. Knowing the NPCs career or occupation can also help the DM to create a believable dialogue, as NPCs can have different perspectives on life and the world based on their career or occupation.
Life Events
Life events that shape an NPCs personality are also an important element of an NPCs backstory and can give insight into their personality, beliefs, and values. For example, an NPC who has experienced a traumatic event, like a war, might be more likely to be driven by a desire for peace and safety. Life events can also provide hooks for the players to interact with the NPCs, creating interesting and dynamic interactions. It can also create conflicts for the NPCs and the players, as the NPCs life events can shape their beliefs, values and how they perceive the world.
Additionally, NPCs life events can shape their skills and abilities, for example, an NPC who has been through a shipwreck might be more skilled in survival and navigation. It can also shape their emotional and mental state, for example, an NPC who has suffered a great loss might have trust issues or PTSD. Knowing the NPCs life events can also help the DM to create a believable dialogue, as NPCs can have different perspectives on life and the world based on their experiences.
In Summary
Giving your NPCs a backstory is an essential step in making them feel like real and relatable characters
A backstory provides context for an NPC's actions and motivations, making them more believable and interesting to the players
Family and relationships are an essential element of an NPC's backstory and can give insight into their personality and motivations
Childhood experiences are another important element of an NPC's backstory and can shape their personality, beliefs, and values
Education and training are an important element of an NPC's backstory and can provide context for their skills and abilities

Tips I wish I knew for my first RE4R Hardcore playthrough (Original Campaign)
Notes:
-This can also be applied to lower difficulties to make it 10x easier
-This does not include tips for the Separate Ways DLC, but some of them can be applied, I suppose
-All of these are picked up from personal playthroughs as well as YouTube videos (Neon Slice influences the majority of these)
-I've also just played this game on the hardest difficulties too many times lol
1. FLASH GRENADES - They WILL be your best friend, I promise you. Why? They stun enemies for at least 5 to 10 seconds and you can melee them. Alternatively, you have a window to stab them (always a critical hit, perfect for mini bosses like the Brutes)
2. Keep at least one first aid spray on you at all times; this has saved me on several occasions, and not doing it has killed me
3. Ashley's armor is worth the hassle if you are trying to get the S+ rank on Professional (if it's your first run, professional will only be unlocked after you beat the game at least once)
4. If you are in a spot where you are overwhelmed, just RUN. Run if you can, especially if you're out of bullets and you're on your last knife. This is another situation where flash grenades are useful.
5. Speaking of flash grenades, if it is your first playthrough (or you just lack attention to detail), Plagas hate light and die when flashed by a flash grenade. If you have too many Plagas in the area, don't hesitate to throw a flash grenade. This is especially useful against the knights in Salazar's castle.
6. The only way you're gonna get infinite ammo is through an S+ rank on Professional, so don't even worry about that until later.
7. Yes, there are limits on saves and the number of hours it takes to complete the game in order to get certain ranks. If you don't know the rules to a rank, Google them. The game, if it does tell you, doesn't like to make those rules obvious.
8. Ashley is a pain in the rear end even with the armor. In areas like the Water Hall, she's immune to enemy attacks and Leon's bullets, yes, but she will still crouch down when surrounded, or get picked up (they can't carry her anywhere though since the armor makes her heavy, so she'll be in a constant cycle of screaming until you get rid of the zealots). Added this because I don't know how many people address this part of Ashley's armor.
9. On the flip side, the armor makes Ashley immune to attacks even during her segment of the game where you play as her, so you can walk through the knight room and be hit 45 times and be just fine. It makes that part of the game much easier.
10. One hit in Ashley's segment without armor, however, (yes, even just one) will result in a game over. Keep moving, know your paths before triggering things, and be quick about it.
11. Saddler is pathetic, even on hardcore mode. At the start of his battle, just shoot him with a rocket launcher and you'll be good to go, no time wasted
12. Two golden eggs thrown at Salazar (start of his battle, preferably. Much easier from there) will easily get his battle out of the way.
13. You know the room with the 4 Regeneradors in the test tube things? Yeah, those. Don't bother killing all of them, just get the wrench from the one and you'll be fine.
14. Speaking of Regeneradors, they're a pain. A big one. Keep your distance, they're slinky's. Keep your distance.
15. If the Regenerador is asleep (like the 4 test tube ones in the lab), line up two of the parasites (if you can, all three would be awesome, though) and shoot. It will make your job MUCH easier
16. Use the rocket launcher on Krauser when you're in the final battle with him. He's a tough one, and it's much easier to skip the fight. You also get his knife once he's dead, and it's better than Leon's. That's nice, I guess.
17. There's nothing you can do about Leon's slowness when approaching Luis's lab. That's meant to happen, and no, you can't skip it. On the bright side, you won't get hurt, either.
18. You may or may not have heard about the heavy grenade trick when Ashley is using the wrecking ball. Two heavy grenades will do the trick. If you don't have those, several normal grenades will suffice, but it will add a little extra time to your run.
19. Use flash grenade right as one of the two Giants (with Luis) are approaching the center of the room. It takes a second for the flash to go off, and it stops them just enough to open the trap door to incinerate one of them. Nice.
20. Take out the lamp guys ASAP. You know, the ones with the red lamps that make the zealots turn into Plagas? Those things. I hate 'em. Flash them with a flash grenade, then knife them. Best way to go, just like Brutes.
I hope this was of SOME use to you. I racked my memory for this info, it's a long game. If you want more, let me know. Should I do Separate Ways next?

Things the game doesn't tell you (Path HD)
A list of things that the game won't tell you, or would not be something found/realised as a first time player (and sometimes a casual player), feel free to add any I might've missed
The Bachelor has a Plague Finder/Sense - By pressing 'G' on the keyboard he'll pull out a lens that can detect plague clouds from far away to help you see and avoid them, you can get lenses that'll upgrade how far you can see
The character has a lamp on them - You start with kerosene in your inventory but don't have the lamp as an item, pressing 'F' on the keyboard makes a ring of light appear around you and consumes kerosene
You receive letters every day telling you things to do/who to go see - By pressing 'L' on the keyboard it opens up your letters, you can look through every letter you receive from each day. When not opening/closing the map, a page turn sound will play and an icon will appear in the bottom left corner indicating you got a letter
The map tells you where shops are - When looking at the map, character houses are marked in red while other buildings are brown, but some buildings are a cream colour, these are shops
The town is made up of various districts that all have names - Sometimes a character will reference a district to go to or where you might find a character, but the map isn't marked for districts, so you may have to look up where certain districts are
The Changeling can heal people but it costs her health - By using your melee attack on infected person (the ones covered from head to toe) you'll do a different animation that will heal them of the plague, doing this earns you reputation but costs you a small amount of health
You can trade herbs to Andrey Stamatin for different items - As the Haruspex and Changeling you can collect herbs around the town and in the Steppe, for the Changeling this seems pointless, but you can take them to Stamatin's pub and trade them for weapons, bullets, and extract
Being given an item when you have no inventory space drops the item in a bag on the floor - This is easily overlooked as the sound cue that plays for this doesn't make it obvious what happened and the bag is out of view if you aren't looking at the floor, the bag will remain for a while but will eventually despawn
You can enter any infected house (bar Isidors') and loot them at no cost to your reputation - Any house in any infected district can be entered and looted while it is infected. The following day when they aren't infected, they can be entered and looted again but there will be looters in the house who are hostile, when the district is normal and not infected the houses will become locked again
EDIT: Changed a tip about the Changeling healing people, doing so COSTS health it does not heal like I thought, this is hard to tell in the game, thank you @tommynb for pointing this out and correcting
