There's a mistake I see a lot of people in the mental health community make and in all honesty, it's one I've made myself. But I think we should really work on it. And that's saying "if this were a physical illness, wouldn't you care?"
I've learned that no actually, people wouldn't care. Katelyn Weinstein (theADHDprincess on Twitter) is a neurodiversity acceptance activist who really put this in perspective for me. She said that it's actually more an issue of longevity than physical vs mental health.
If you're having a bad day people will generally be understanding. But when you're experiencing chronic depression and you have many bad days people lose sympathy.
In the same respect people may be understanding when you've broken a bone that will heal properly or when you have a cold that will go away soon in ways they simply won't understand when you have chronic pain or need to use a wheelchair. They may send chicken soup for a temporary situation, but when you need consistent accomodations it's an entirely different story.
I understand that from our perspective it looks like people care more about physical health than mental health, but it's good to remember that our own perspective is also limiting. Facing ableism doesn't mean you can't be ableist. And I know so many people are not ill-intentioned when they say this. I know I wasn't. But we can't discount the lived experiences of physically disabled people. If we want true equality we need to be united and we need to listen to those with physical disabilities and illnesses. And those with physical disabilities and illnesses (some of which are also invisible) have said that they are not given proper accomodations either.
So let's be united and fight for equality and accomodations for everyone, no matter what their illness or disability may be.

Lucien Greaves talks eugenics and "who decides"
Via The.Satanic.Wiki
On Sept. 11, 2003, future co-owner of The Satanic Temple Doug “Lucien Greaves” Misicko, his friend and collaborator Shane Bugbee, and Shane Bugbee’s wife Amy Stocky hosted a 24-hour Internet radio stream with guests and callers to mark the release of their new edition of the proto-fascist manifesto Might Is Right. The following year, Doug Misicko continued to appear on Internet radio streams with Shane and Amy. “The ABCs of the Alphabet” was one such program. This is an excerpt from one of those recordings.
CW: eugenics
Full transcript:
22:57 Doug Misicko Yeah, eugenics. Right right, right, right. No, no, no. Eugenics is the practice of proper breeding to produce a better gene pool, and a lot of people try to say that it doesn’t work, and that you can’t breed people better because of too many variables or anything else, but everybody knows through common sense that’s a bunch of shit because we’ve seen horse breeders, we’ve seen animal breeders, we’ve seen everything else. I mean, people give a shit about the papers when they get their dog. People give a shit about those things because they know it works. We know there’s facts of heredity. We know that smart people can have a stupid kid, and you know, stupid people can sometimes have a smart kid, but that’s called deviation from the mean, and it’s not uncommon. That happens, but nonetheless, I feel there should be a eugenics policy, or at least something to curb it’s opposite, which is dysgenics, which is producing inferior breeds through, like fetal alcohol syndrome, or crack babies, or whatever. We shouldn’t promote that, and often people will ask me, you know...
24:08 Shane Bugbee  Oh really? Lots of people ask professor Doug. “Oh, people will ask me...”
24:11 Doug Misicko People will often ask me “How can you promote an idea like eugenics? Who is qualified... Who’s going to decide who is qualified to have a kid, and who’s not?” You know? And I always tell them that I would be happy to decide. I would be happy to put up some kind of standardized test, like driving a fucking car, Y’know?
24:33 Shane Bugbee  So you would decide?
24:35 Doug Misicko Why not?
25:36 Shane Bugbee  Why? Why is the real question.
24:38 Doug Misicko Well, I think there’s a certain set of rules...
24:40 Shane Bugbee  Are you a painter? Do you make twelve thousand dollars a year?
24:42 Doug Misicko We’re gonna get to that. We’re gonna get to that on "G".
24:46 Shane Bugbee What are your qualifications, sir?
24:47 Doug Misicko Right, right. My qualifications is that if nobody else is willing to decide, I will!

I want to make a parody of the movie Idiocracy. Reason: everyone ik who is worried about “idiots taking over because they will have more kids” believes in eugenics (and also they have a lot of kids themselves)

A warning about AI
Y’all probably already know about AI generators threatening artists’, writers’, and programmers’ livelihoods, but there’s a lot more to it than that. AI is being developed for eugenics. You read this correctly. Corporations are responding to their self-made “infertility crisis” by proposing artificial womb banks run by AI. CRISPR-CAS9 and designer babies are already bad, but put that in the hands of an AI trained to nip disabilities in the bud. Transhumanism is an existential threat, and make no mistake, it is entirely rooted in eugenics and fascism.

People who talk about different dog breeds being more or less "aggressive/dangerous" would or do buy into similar Eugenics "science" about people.

Rowling isn't denying holocaust. She just pointed out that burning of transgender health books is a lie as that form of cosmetic surgery didn't exist. But of course you knew that already, didn't you?
I was thinking I'd probably see one of you! You're wrong :) Let's review the history a bit, shall we?
In this case, what we're talking about is the Institut für Sexualwissenschaft, or in English, The Institute of Sexology. This Institute was founded and headed by a gay Jewish sexologist named Magnus Hirschfeld. It was founded in July of 1919 as the first sexology research clinic in the world, and was run as a private, non-profit clinic. Hirschfeld and the researchers who worked there would give out consultations, medical advice, and even treatments for free to their poorer clientele, as well as give thousands of lectures and build a unique library full of books on gender, sexuality, and eroticism. Of course, being a gay man, Hirschfeld focused a lot on the gay community and proving that homosexuality was natural and could not be "cured".
Hirschfeld was unique in his time because he believed that nobody's gender was either one or the other. Rather, he contended that everyone is a mixture of both male and female, with every individual having their own unique mix of traits.
This leads into the Institute's work with transgender patients. Hirschfeld was actually the one to coin the term "transsexual" in 1923, though this word didn't become popular phrasing until 30 years later when Harry Benjamin began expanding his research (I'll just be shortening it to trans for this brief overview.) For the Institute, their revolutionary work with gay men eventually began to attract other members of the LGBTA+, including of course trans people.
Contrary to what Anon says, sex reassignment surgery was first tested in 1912. It'd already being used on humans throughout Europe during the 1920's by the time a doctor at the Institute named Ludwig Levy-Lenz began performing it on patients in 1931. Hirschfeld was at first opposed, but he came around quickly because it lowered the rate of suicide among their trans patients. Not only was reassignment performed at the Institute, but both facial feminization and facial masculization surgery were also done.
The Institute employed some of these patients, gave them therapy to help with other issues, even gave some of the mentioned surgeries for free to this who could not afford it! They spoke out on their behalf to the public, even getting Berlin police to help them create "transvestite passes" to allow people to dress however they wanted without the threat of being arrested. They worked together to fight the law, including trying to strike down Paragraph 175, which made it illegal to be homosexual. The picture below is from their holiday party, Magnus Hirschfeld being the gentleman on the right with the fabulous mustache. Many of the other people in this photo are transgender.

[Image ID: A black and white photo of a group of people. Some are smiling at the camera, others have serious expressions. Either way, they all seem to be happy. On the right side, an older gentleman in glasses- Magnus Hirschfeld- is sitting. He has short hair and a bushy mustache. He is resting one hand on the shoulder of the person in front of him. His other hand is being held by a person to his left. Another person to his right is holding his shoulder.]
There was always push back against the Institute, especially from conservatives who saw all of this as a bad thing. But conservatism can't stop progress without destroying it. They weren't willing to go that far for a good while. It all ended in March of 1933, when a new Chancellor was elected. The Nazis did not like homosexuals for several reasons. Chief among them, we break the boundaries of "normal" society. Shortly after the election, on May 6th, the book burnings began. The Jewish, gay, and obviously liberal Magnus Hirschfeld and his library of boundary-breaking literature was one of the very first targets. Thankfully, Hirschfeld was spared by virtue of being in Paris at the time (he would die in 1935, before the Nazis were able to invade France). His library wasn't so lucky.
This famous picture of the book burnings was taken after the Institute of Sexology had been raided. That's their books. Literature on so much about sexuality, eroticism, and gender, yes including their new work on trans people. This is the trans community's Alexandria. We're incredibly lucky that enough of it survived for Harry Benjamin and everyone who came after him was able to build on the Institute's work.
Tumblr media
[Image ID: A black and white photo of the May Nazi book burning of the Institute of Sexology's library. A soldier, back facing the camera, is throwing a stack of books into the fire. In the background of the right side, a crowd is watching.]
As the Holocaust went on, the homosexuals of Germany became a targeted group. This did include transgender people, no matter what you say. To deny this reality is Holocaust denial. JK Rowling and everyone else who tries to pretend like this isn't reality is participating in that evil. You're agreeing with the Nazis.
But of course, you knew that already, didn't you?
Edit: Added image IDs. I apologize to those using screen readers for forgetting them. Please reblog this version instead.

The Crew Heads with Reader: Bro Code
G/N. Silly. (Jake Kim, Eli Jang, Johan Seong, Samuel Seo).
Bro Code | Dinner | Shopping | Television
Tumblr media
"What is that?"
You point at the red mark, the ring of teeth on his tattooed arm and Jake mutters something under his breath.
"What?"
"...Bite." He forces out.
"Courtesy of?" Your eyes flicker over to Eli, who has found a very interesting spot on the floor.
Really, it might be the most interesting thing he has ever seen. He wouldn't be able to remove his eyes from it for love nor money. Not even if Yenna shrieked, screamed, screeched in front of him
"No-one." Jake says, wordlessly agreeing with Eli that the ground is fascinating and staring resolutely at it too.
Because if there is one thing the Crew Heads agree on, it's bro code.
Fighting one another, beating each other up is one thing-
Sure, they might kill each other. Sure, some of them hate each other. It's nothing personal though. Just something they do.
...What real men do. Casual grievous bodily harm, accidental oopsy murder. You know how it goes.
But where you're concerned - snitches get stitches. And stitches from you, doesn’t bear thinking about.
Where you're concerned, the story could be they were all holding hands, skipping along the road, then simultaneously ate shit together. Falling over one by one like dominos.
It would be the utmost worst violation of bro code to tell on each other. Even if you're the one now cleaning up the aftermath.
Under silent oath, a pact formed with just one quick catch of the eye, they promised they would not tell. If you found out, if they confirmed - you would give them hell. A fate worse than death.
"And Johan, let me guess. You fell and gave yourself a blackeye." You arch an eyebrow in his direction.
Johan nods, lips pulled down in a pout and eyes (one fine, one bruised and swollen) narrowed at another spot at the floor. The appeal of the scuffed floorboards is contagious, three of the four Crew Heads gaze now firmly fixed on it.
"No brass knuckles involved?" You ask, and get a short shake of the head in response.
"Just like Samuel's back injury isn't from being thrown on the ground?"
Samuel's eyes dart over once to Jake, then he rearranges his face into a haughty, cold expression. As if that was a ridiculous suggestion and not the truth.
They were absolutely not fighting. They would absolutely not get caught.
"Of course not." He sneers, then pain flashes across his face as a short, sharp spasm shoots through his body.
You resist laughing and spitting out that that's karma for lying.
Instead, you sigh. Still have enough control to refrain from face palming.
Right.
Sure.
However-
As if this all wasn’t obvious enough. Perhaps the most damning evidence of all, is the Converse print on Eli's right cheek.
You look pointedly at Johan's footwear. "And I suppose Eli has become an ambassador for Converse, if he's wearing their logo on his face?”
Eli, on impulse, tries for a nod before his brain catches up and realises how ridiculous that sounds.
You continue on, not missing Eli’s twitch. “It's got nothing to do with you lot fighting, and someone kicking someone in the head, hmm?"
Nervous glances are exchanged.
“Eli didn’t bite Jake? Samuel didn’t give Johan a black eye? Jake didn’t slam Samuel to the ground? Johan didn't give Eli a taste of his shoe?”
This entire conversation is futile. It's clear as day they were fighting. Even a blind, deaf and mute person would be able to tell.
Still.
Bro code.
"No," comes the chorus of voices, and you consider fatally maiming them all yourself.

'they were medically vulnerable' doesn't mean they were already dead or dying
'they were medically vulnerable' doesn't mean it was inevitable they would get the virus
'they were medically vulnerable' doesn't mean their life didn't matter
'they were medically vulnerable' doesn't mean their death isn't sad
they were medically vulnerable' is not an explanation for how or why they got COVID, because existing disabilities and conditions are not COVID and do not cause COVID
'they were medically vulnerable' doesn't mean that there was nothing that could have been done on others' part to prevent them from getting it
'they were medically vulnerable' doesn't mean they deserved to die or should have died
'they were medically vulnerable' is not there so you can feel relieved you aren't like them while doing nothing to protect people like them
'they were medically vulnerable' didn't make it any less important for people to try to protect them from infection than it is to protect you, your life is not worth more or less than theirs was
'they were medically vulnerable' does not mean they were fucking expendable
(seriously some of you sound downright genocidal about this topic and it makes me want to lie down on the floor and sob)

Lucien Greaves discusses the best basis for eugenics and forcible sterilization with White Aryan Resistance founder Tom Metzger
[Full 24-hour “Might Is Right” Internet radio show transcript for context]
20:02:23 Doug Misicko: Well, I tend to feel that racialism can be too general, at times. I think there should be eugenics policy, population control policy, something that ensures quality reproduction. But on racial grounds, I really don't see it because you got to admit you meet some Black people are smarter than a lot of white people you met and vice versa. And all the rest. And if through the top notch, were the ones breeding, carrying on, that would be the best way to go.
20:02:54 Tom Metzger: Yeah, there are gray areas, there's overlap. But on the other hand, I'm, you see, you might see a white crow sometime too. But most crows are black. [laughter] I mean, if you judge the Black race by it, by its whole, you got you must come up with the idea that the def- definitely an inferior race.
20:03:13 Doug Misicko: Well, if that was being the case...
20:03:15 Tom Metzger: You're saying that there's mixed race, Blacks- mulattos that are sharp and smart. Once in a while there's a jet black Negro, that's very smart. Sure there is. And there's a lot of stupid whites.
20:03:26 Doug Misicko: But that being the case, you still wouldn't have to enact racial laws, you just have to enact intelligence laws. And if that was being the case, then that good segment of the population would have to drop off, you could still do it on an equal level around the board.
20:03:41 Tom Metzger: Well, we'll leave you the project of raising the IQ of the Black race till about 140. And I'll be standing by when you're successful.
20:03:51 Amy Bugbee: It's going to be quite a task. I think.
20:03:54 Tom Metzger: That's gonna keep you busy for a long time.
20:03:56 Doug Misicko: I don't think the average white IQ is anywhere near 140.
20:04:01 Tom Metzger: That's true, but on the par, they're higher than Blacks by probably 20 points. Most of the Third Reich, people, including Hitler, they were all above 120. And most of them are about 140.
20:04:18 Doug Misicko: They actually took IQ tests?
20:04:20 Tom Metzger: Yes, they did while they were in Nuremberg prison, awaiting trial. And the lowest IQ in the whole bunch was Julius Streicher. And he was 120. So I think if you do a, you know, an IQ test in Europe, among the educated whites, and then try to compare it to Blacks going to any university in the world, you're going to see a difference. Already, they've already done that to where they have upscale Blacks going to these schools down in Maryland. And they were doing worse than a white kid is doing an Appalachia. So no, don't ever forget race is a very important thing.
20:05:01 Amy Bugbee: Absolutely, I know my sister always says how Blacks have only been civilized for a few 100 years so, they're never going to catch up. You know, my, I'm never gonna be older than my older sister. So...
20:05:15 Tom Metzger: I've heard that. Some estimates are that they are supposedly around 250,000 years behind, as a race. And of course, I'm not convinced we even come from the same source. I have, I have a very hard time believing that.
20:05:34 Amy Bugbee: I agree with you. I think that there's different species of humans or human related beings. I don't think that we're necessarily the same species as Blacks or Asians, you know, or any number of other races.
20:05:52 Tom Metzger: If you'll read the works of Carlton Kuhn, he pretty much brings forth the idea of separate development of the races in different areas of the world. Not all in Africa. We may have come from another planet for all I know,
20:06:10 Amy Bugbee: I'm with you there.
