Frodo Baggins was a simple hobbit. He right now was kind of lost. In world that seem to be different than his.

Munday Meme ask from @corruptedforce
Basics.
When did you first start writing?
In elementary school. I think I was in like... second grade when I started writing a novel with my best friend from school. I have no idea what happened to it and can only vaguely remember the plot. I believe it was historical fiction. I was way obsessed with "the pioneers" at that time cuz I was reading Little House on the Prairie.
In what language did you start writing?
En anglais. No really - English. I did write in French for my French degree, but that was like... essay writing. Not fiction.
If your mother tongue is not the language you write now, what caused you to switch languages?
N/A
What was the first muse that you’ve written?
Lily Evans! Mah poor girl who is also misaligned as a boring goody two shoes with a stick up her ass.
Do you still write your first muse?
Uhhhhh like I probs could. And every time Tanya talks about her James Potter muse it tempts me. For now, I think I'll stick to fanfic though. I found some rad writers.
What is the muse that you write for the longest?
Most def Lily.
In what style did you start to write (First person, third person, *-style or novel-style?)
OH GOD. Ok so I started out on NEOPETS y'all. I bet some of you younguns don't even know what that is. I never wrote in first person. Always third. But I started out writing 1-3 sentence replies haha.
What caused you to start writing? What was your key point?
Trying to think back - I genuinely loved the world of Harry Potter. I was about the same age as Harry when the first of the books came out. And like... I'm a sucker for couples with a tragic ending if you can't tell, so I was fascinated by the story of his parents. Plus Lily seemed like such a bad ass to me. She never came off to me as a tight wad, know-it-all. She was brave and confident in a way that I wasn't as a teenager, so I wanted to get inside her head and be her for a bit.
Do you regret starting writing?
No! Cause I have made some awesome friends along the way. And it's been so fun.
Is there anything you would have changed when you started writing now that you have more experience?
Uhhhh no?
Do you tell your friends / family that you write?
LOL no. I don't think they'd understand. Actually I did tell ONE friend that I wrote fanfiction (bc I did. Y'all somewhere out there is my ff.net account with a VERY shitty story about Frodo Baggins and some hobbit lady post-ROTK and a very trite Harry Potter fanfic. I don't even remember my username for it anymore.
How do you describe writing / rp to others?
See above
On what platform did you start to write?
Already answered - Neopets. :D
Canon Muses.
What is your favorite canon muse? I would say it's Lily Evans, butttttt honestly at this point, I think it might be Lyla from SOA. That was just such a fun muse to write and a departure from the type of muses I gravitate towards. It's also the absolute least canon I've ever written a muse, because the whole thing was AU but WHATEVER 😉
Have you ever written a canon muse that you first thought of ‘meh’ when they appeared in their canon show/movie/book? BAHAHAH most def it's Padme! I did not love the prequel trilogy as much as the OT when it first came out. I loved Leia as a girl. She was one of my idols. Padme is a bamf as Queen Amidala in TPM, but after that, with the exception of a couple of quips in AOTC ("I call it aggressive negotiations" omfg stop I love that line), she's pretty bland. And her death was just SO LAME. Ugh. Anyway. Since I am not contained by the stupidity of canon in the RPC, I really enjoy just giving her my own spin on her!

//Hi!
I love jumping back into ages old fandoms :-)
This is a RP sideblog for Bilbo Baggins, based primarily off of the movies (though I did read the book.) My main blog is fandomfanficsgalore, so that is the blog I will be liking/following from!
Bilbo lives in Erebor with Thorin Oakenshield (who he’s hopelessly in love with) and the rest of the company. So yes, Fix-It rp’s and fics are a must! I’ll be writing fan fiction every so often, as well.
Please check out more about Bilbo and the rules page for what I will and won’t RP!
Basics:
Been roleplaying online for about eight years
I’m not super picky! Feel free to hop right into asks <3
Not all threads have to be Bagginshield! I’m happy to explore other relationships and platonic threads as well
Asks are always open for Bilbo :)

Night had fallen over Rivendell, the cool wind brushing the Elven Lord’s hair across his face. It was unusual of him to be awake at such an hour, but dreams of destruction and death loomed in his mind. He had tried to shake it, knowing there was little he could do at the moment, but the dreams refused to give him peace. He had finally given in to them and found himself in his personal library, his fingers brushing over every book and grabbing the ones he felt would be helpful. Elros had surprised him with this library when they were both young, as a birthday present. To be in the library now, long after his twin had passed, brought him both sorrow and happiness.
But he wouldn’t let himself dwell on the past right now. No, he had his dreams to decipher. If his dreams were a warning of what was to come, then it was his job as one of the guardians of Middle Earth to figure out what the warning was and hopefully prevent it from occurring.
He sat down at his wooden desk, carefully opening the first book, the spine slowly cracking as he did so. Beginning to read, he tried to find any hints that his dreams may be fact and not fiction when a knock on the door pulled his attention away. Who would be up at this late hour of the night?
“Who wishes to speak to me?” He called from his desk, eyeing the closed door suspiciously.

The Fellowship of the Ring as D&D characters/players
Frodo Baggins, Halfling Rogue. Maxed out the Stealth skill and uses an enchanted ring he used in the last campaign to sneak around, but has to roll percentile dice for how long it takes for the BBEG to find him. Only plays because he wanted to spend time with friends. He only knows how Stealth works.
Samwise Gamgee, Halfling Fighter. First time playing, Frodo's player convinced him to join. Didn't really know what to do, so he made his backstory tied with Frodo's so he didn't need to overthink it. Really into the RP. Needs to just end this pretense and confess his love for Frodo's player, but he doesn't have the courage.
Gandalf, Aasimar Sorcerer. Doesn't know the difference between Sorcerer and Wizard classes. Doesn't have a lot of time to play, so he misses a few sessions on "Wizard business." Ended up dying the one time the DM decided to give him something cool to do. Didn't have the time to write another character, so he just reused his character sheet. The DM thought he'd be playing Radagast.
Aragorn, Human Variant Ranger. Uses the Ranger Revised homebrew. Really overthought his backstory. Thought about making his character a Half-Elf, but didn't want to accused of being an edgelord. Too bad, everyone already calls him an edgelord.
Legolas, Wood Elf Ranger. Liked the Wood Elves from the last campaign and decided to use their lore for his own character. Still decided to name his character Legolas Greenleaf because he likes dumb in-jokes. Has an extensive dice collection/addiction and a dice jail incase he rolls badly. He never rolls badly.
Gimli, Dwarf Barbarian. Really into Dwarves. Wanted to connect her character from the last campaign, so made him the son her last character. Met her boyfriend because of the last campaign. Kinda wants to make her character and her boyfriend's a thing, but everyone gets weird with romance in D&D.
Boromir/Faramir, Human Paladin/Ranger. Really proud of his original character until he started playing him. Got jealous of the Rangers and didn't like how he RP'd him, even if Aragorn's player thought he was cool. Got really busy after Boromir died, but managed to appear in a few sessions.
Meriadoc Brandybuck, Halfling Rogue Mastermind. Doesn't have the courage to come out, but isn't happy with his character being called "Merry" so often. Is kinda the guy who comes up with the crazy plans. DMs other campaigns and even stood in during the last one when the DM got sick.
Peregrine Took, Halfling Fighter. Friend of Meriadoc, kinda has a crush on him. They're a seasoned player with a laundry list of characters played to perfection, Pippin included. Posts memes on the Discord server. Everyone thinks they're the coolest person at these games.
The DM. Doesn't do campaigns often, mostly one-shots and tinkering the setting, but people love his sessions. Give distinct descriptions of events, if not the most detailed. His wife doesn't get it, but it doesn't matter. Tells his kids stories of what happened during the campaign.
Bonus: the last campaign. Biggest party they've ever had, destroyed the Discord server. Entire party was meant to be made up of Dwarf Fighters, but Bilbo and Gandalf's players didn't get the memo, so the DM overhauled the first session to explain why Bilbo was a part of the party. Kinda screwed the pooch on balancing the encounters. Not much RP. Everyone still had fun somehow.

I think my favorite part of the Appendixes of the Lord of the Rings is the point in which Tolkien explains the following about how Hobbits speak Westron:
1. They speak like country folk. 2. They don’t use deferential grammar, but everyone else does. 3. Educated Hobbits can codeswitch as a matter of pride.
So basically, Hobbits sound like they’re from the West Country, whereas the Men of Gondor and Rohan sound like they’re speaking Royal Pronunciation, and the Elves, they probably sound like Scandinavians speaking perfect RP, 300 years ago.
On top of that, while the Westron language is like most Romance languages in that it has formal/informal grammar rules, the hobbits don’t fucking use it. They use the informal for everything. Pippin was just wandering around Gondor, calling everybody luv, pal, lad, buddy, mate, referring to Denethor like he’s just Some Guy, and everyone around him just balking at the absolute nerve of this tiny little person! AND It helped enforce the rumor among the Gondorians that Pippin was royalty! Because he didn’t speak to anyone, even Denethor, with deference! Meanwhile he’s just living his Hobbit life, speaking like Hobbits do! (Please Please Please tell me translations of The Lord of the Rings into languages with formal/informal tenses took advantage of this and made it textual where Tolkien couldn’t, oh I so hope, it’s comedy gold.).
BUT IT GETS BETTER, it just keeps getting better.
There is, according to Tolkien, one situation in which they use deferential language, that being as terms of endearment--which, by the way, puts Sam’s use of deferential terms for Frodo in a very different light. Plus just imagining Merry and Pippin just being like no you sir after you sir no I insist sir, just out of pure affection? DELIGHTFUL!
Oh but wait there’s more.
Well educated, book-learned Hobbits (like one Mr. Frodo Baggins), are able to codeswitch and it’s a skill they’re really proud of. So they can go from speaking their Hobbit Vernacular Westron to Gondorian RP Westron on a dime, no problem.
But Merry is also a well-read and well learned upper-class Hobbit, so I like to think he can code-switch too. Though admittedly mostly well-read in all things Shire, so possibly not, but I like to think so.
So consider for a moment: Frodo and Merry in Rivendell talking amongst themselves in Shire Vernacular, sounding like they’re from the West Country, and then code switching to talk to elves and being smug little shits about it.
Meanwhile Pippin (who should be well read for his class but isn't) and Sam (who is very well read for his class but not quite enough) are just dragging all their consonants and conjugations together, and the elves just like excuse me say that again please is that even Westron, when this isn’t even their native tongue and they’re overly proud about their skill with languages.
Leading of course to both Pippin and Sam having to make an effort to enunciate to be understood, Pippin obnoxiously and Sam respectfully.
And all of this without a single deferential tense or term, because deferential language does not make politeness for Hobbits, but it sure as fuck does for everyone else.
