What a following means to me:

This week sucks. Like it sucks. And it’s crazy because on one of my social media accounts, a few of my post blew up and I’ve gained a good amount followers, but my actual reality is falling apart. No matter how many followers I get, it doesn’t change what is going on around me.

My followers are extremely important to me and I care about all of them truly. All of the love in support is so enduring and gives me strength to carry on. The amount has never been important, what matters is the experience, what it can do for me and for others.

Home life isn’t easy right now and neither is work and being real and honest with my following is very important to me. I can’t stress enough how important it is to share your experiences with others because YOUR VOICE MATTERS. It CHANGES people. It shows that we are not alone in this world and that we all go through the same daily battles.

So thank you to anyone who follows me and keeps up with my story. I promise I will continue to post content that is real and genuine and meaningful, because that’s what life should be about. and I LIVE BY THAT.

the little things

Hello again muffins and welcome to today’s blog!

Tonight before coming into work I went over to Oberweis Dairy. My boss recently told me they had frozen lattes and I had to try one. Literally has to be one of the best coffee drinks I’ve had in a while. It does have ice cream in it so it’s definitely something you get when you want to treat yourself.

While drinking this I was thinking about what I wanted to do for the blog tonight and I thought since I was treating myself, I could list some small ideas and ways to treat yourself it you want to make your day a little better.

1. Take a drive - Listen. I know it may sound really simple but going for a drive is something that almost always gives me clarity when my world feels more complicated than usual (which really isn’t saying much but still). Sometimes I go and grab my favorite thing to drink, drive to the river near my house, listen to an aesthetic playlist on YouTube and just relax and think.

2. Naps - I kid you not, naps can be so refreshing and healthy for you. I can not stress enough how important rest is. Sometimes I feel really stressed out for no apparent reason at the time when really I’m just tired from daily struggles. I deal with insomnia and when I have time to take a nap I don’t usually want to because if I have free time I’ll just sit in bed and watch something on Netflix, but I swear if I really take the time to sleep for 2-3 hours during the day in my extra time, when I wake up I realize how tired I was and how much better I feel after getting some much needed rest.

3. Skin Care Routines - Up until a bout a year ago I wasn’t too into using skin care products for my dry skin but after starting my skin care routine, I feel more refreshed and comfortable in my skin. Again this really doesn’t seem like much of a fun thing to do but since using products that work with my skin, it seems to make my entire day run a lot more smoothly. Acne and dry skin can be extremely irritating and uncomfortable and it’s not until you have a clean and moisturized face do you realize how drastic (in a good way) the change can be.

Sometimes facial products like moisturizers and creams can be intimidating because of all the difference choices, skepticism in product quality and how much products cost. Really it’s just about trying new things and finding what works for you. I’ll let you guys know right now that a couple of my go to products are the MORNING BURST® Facial Cleanser which helps me wake up before going to work because of the Vitamin C and has a more citrus smell to it. I also use Garnier SkinActive with aloe juice which is good for my super sensitive skin. (Not sponsored)

4. Journal - This definitely may not be for everybody but I personally love to journal about anything and everything. Bullet journaling is a really nice tool to clear the head and write your thoughts and ideas out onto paper. Highlighters and Colored gel pens are also very aesthetically pleasing and help with organization.

In mine I keep a mood tracker for each month. I also do pages about shows I like with quotes from the characters. Sometimes I just get bored and look up simple doodles to draw even though I am ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE AT ANYTHING HAVING TO DO WITH ART. :) A good majority of my ideas for my journal come off Pinterest. 5. Bath - Last and certainly not least: BATH TIME. When I am moving around all day, when the world feels like it might end and I just need a detox, baths are where it is at my friends. Here are some necessities I need to have the full bath time detox and forgetti my regrettis experience:
