“Do you trust me?” Henry asks, and he’s all smiles and mirth. Even streaked in the blood of the army he decimated, just moments ago.
The sight should be terrifying, unsettling. His lilac gaze, streaked with the same crimson soaking his clothes, staring up at you.
But of course you trust him. Even as you tempt death itself. Even without the strange, hypnotic quality to his gaze—something his kind had perfected, he told you once. You’d trust Henry with your life. And the revelation in and of itself has your nerves fraught.
At your hesitant nod, he hums, peering up at you.

Henry finally pulls away, your blood smeared across his face a bright, stark red, more vivid than his scarlet-streaked stare. He touches the life pouring out of your thigh, his gaze narrowing.

Are you? You can barely feel anything. It’s like you’re drifting, like nothing in this world is keeping you tethered. Your eyes threaten to slip shut.

His thrusts are erratic now, his groans shakier. It takes a few calls of your name before you realize he’s speaking to you, and your eyes open blearily.
“Ah! You’re awake.” His smile wavers as he gasps, his hips stilling. “D-Did you know....” He smears the blood on your neck, thumbs the fresh bite marks, before trailing it towards your lips as if entranced himself. “Vampire semen contains traces of venom?”
“O-ooh.” His breath catches, and suddenly he jerks his hips hard against yours. He leans over you, moaning softly as his seed spills into you.
“We’ll be together forever,” he says breathlessly, and the smile he sends you is so serene.
It’s the last thing you see before darkness drags you under.

002 | Mercedes von Martritz from Fire Emblem: Three Houses
How I feel about this character: I like her arc, when it is fully played out via Byleth supports, of recognizing that her passivity, which once had its use in mitigating the harm that was done to her in situations where she was being abused, has now become a hindrance to her and that she has to be more proactive in going for the life she wants.
All the people I ship romantically with this character: Right now, I’m not certain that I actually ship anyone romantically with Mercedes. I think that right now, I find her story more resonant if she manages to make a life for herself where she doesn’t really need to get married. In non-Crimson Flower routes, this can only really be accomplished by taking religious orders, but I like to imagine that everything feels just fine to her when she gets to spend her whole life never getting married.
My non-romantic OTP for this character: Annette, and if we’re counting DLC, Constance as well.
My unpopular opinion about this character: I have no idea how popular or unpopular this is, so this could be a hot take or it could be that nobody cares, but I think I do head canon Mercedes as aro.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: More focus on her in Crimson Flower. We as a fandom have gone round and round about how there are a bunch of characters who could have had really interesting arcs on Crimson Flower, but it bears repeating that Mercedes is one of them.

a headcanon fact: The voice she puts on is not Mercedes’s natural register. Mercedes’s natural voice is, while not particularly deep, a lot deeper than what we usually hear out of her mouth. She has put on a lighter, higher voice than is natural to her as a tool to make those who might hurt her consider her less as a potential threat to them. Also, this is more related to House Martritz in general than Mercedes herself, but when we got the new flavor text from Three Hopes, and House Martyn was described as a newly-established barony that hadn’t had any real opportunities to distinguish itself yet, I thought “Ahh, so you’re the ones who got House Martritz’s lands after it was dissolved.” Before, I had thought that Martritz territory had probably been absorbed into another house’s lands, but with Martyn’s name being so similar to Martritz, I envision them as a branch family of Martritz which, after Baron Martritz died, successfully petitioned the crown to name them his heirs instead of his unborn child (Mercedes), and booted Mercedes’s pregnant mother out to move themselves in instead. Also, a third fact, also not about Mercedes, but I’m talking about it because I think it’s a funny coincidence. So, I gave Mercedes’s mother a name in a fic I wrote in September 2019. I originally intended to name her Constance, but decided to pick another name that was more etymologically similar to her children’s, and wound up with Constanza. So in continuities where Constance von Nuvelle exists, I head canon her as being named after Mercedes’s mom.

How I feel about this character: I like her. Honestly, I don’t think about Olivia too much.
All the people I ship romantically with this character: Frederick.
My non-romantic OTP for this character: Her Maribelle support is cute.
My unpopular opinion about this character: Like I said, I don’t think about Olivia too much as a character, so I’m going to write something gameplay-related instead. Don’t be afraid to class her away from Dancer. I do this with Azura, too. It’s fun to explore different classes with your dancers as appropriate, and Olivia is no exception: Swordmaster!Olivia and Falcon Knight!Olivia are both stupid fun.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: This is the most basic thing imaginable, but we all know what it is: please, for the love of god, give her enough time to actually form supports with Chrom before they get married.
my OTP: I don’t really have one, but I do like her with Frederick. Not a whole lot of support chains with potential romantic conclusions actually show signs of romantic feelings before the S-support, but I thought those were there in their A-support.
my cross over ship: I liked her interactions with Xander in Warriors. It’s good for making Laslow/Inigo sweat.
a headcanon fact: She does sword dances from time to time.

October Fanfic Rec Prompts
I was inspired to share some fanfic recommendations thanks to this weekly prompt list originally made by @piratejenna. My week 1 recommendations are extremely belated but alas here they are.
The prompt in question was “Fics you’ve read more times than you can count” and or “Fics you’ve stayed up reading later than you should have.”
As a final note: These are mainly for the fandoms of Touhou, Fire Emblem and Mili.
Touhou Project:
Tipsy Words: Nightly Stroll of Moon Goddess and Weird Rabbit by CroakenTheCroakey: This fic starts off with everyone’s favorite joyful alcoholic oni Suika trying to impersonate a rabbit. What more do I need to say? More seriously, this fic had several characters who most people wouldn't think to put in the same room together interacting. Most notably the pair the title itself is alluding to, Ibuki Suika and Kishin Sagume. It was interesting seeing all these different personalities together and the drunken shenanigans were hilarious and adorable. Another sweet thing about this fic is that Suika’s initial motive was she wanted to be a great party host so she could bridge the gap between the Lunarians and the Earth Folk. So earnest lol, a real pick me up for this fandom if you need it.
The Great Danmaku Festival by Aardvark123: Reimu just wanted to hold a spectacular festival for her friends but of course, some other shrine happens to be holding a separate festival at the same time. Touhou-style shenanigans ensue. This was a genuinely entertaining story that incorporated a good portion of the characters and definitely felt like something they’d get up to in-game. Plus the fight scenes aren’t too shabby either. If you want to see some chaos that would make ZUN proud then check out this fic.
Touhou Summer of Ships 2021 by Mimic_Teruyo: If you couldn't tell by the title this rec is a little different since it's a collection of shorts as opposed to one continuous story. The collection was a nice blend of both pairings and genres. No matter what character or ship the author wrote it always came as IC and the wide range of stories in this anthology is what makes it memorable to me. It also got me considering some new pairings like Reimu/Letty so kudos fer that.
Fire Emblem:
Soft as Silk by Acureforliving: A Marianne x Ignatz fic that never fails to make my soulless heart beat. This is such a touching fic that fills you with a warm fuzzy feeling while being a fitting love story for both characters. In particular, it really captures the shy deposition these two possess and how they come to bring each other out of their shell. Seeing the steady progression of their relationship through a series of consistently adorable and lovingly awkward interactions was beautiful and it all comes together in a perfect ending. If you like this pairing, I’d recommend giving this one a read.
i want to see the stars reflecting you by seasparks: I read this at 11:30pm thinking it would be quick but uhh…it filled me with one too many Edeleth feelings and then I couldn’t sleep for another 2 hours but more seriously I liked that this fic is set in the period of time between White Cloud and Part 2 since I feel like there’s so much good potential to explore how the characters were coping with…well everything that happened in the Academy Phase’s climax. Especially Edelgard as you can imagine. This fic deals with a lot of the complicated feelings she had after her ‘victory’ and it was interesting seeing her in such a vulnerable position. Dorothea’s interactions with her really put the comfort in Hurt/Comfort and overall this was a really nice fic that covered both their friendship and Edelgard’s angst at losing her idol.
Goodnight, Lucina by Doctor_Bedlam: The premise of this fic is that for various Completely Logical Reasons all the FE:A kids wind up in Lucina’s bed and thus a massive cuddle pile is formed. A lovely thing for us readers to experience but uhh not so great for poor sleep deprived Lucina. This was a real feed good fic and the buildup of how one good sisterly deed spirals into an impromptu slumber party is nothing short of perfect. We also got this iconic line “Insult not the noble turnip,” that’s all the advertising you need.
Beruka: The Equal Assassin by Sketchione: A Beruka/Camilla fic that starts out pretty fluffy with Beruka being confused as to why her liege is so insistent on spending time with her…only to later reveal that Beruka’s struggle to understand her own emotions leads her into a downward spiral that results in her attempting to take her own life. I read this fic way back in 2016 and it’s always stuck with me. Beruka in general is such an underrated and underutilized character in Fates for the aforementioned reason of her struggle with emotional repression. While the beginning bonding interactions between her and Camilla are very sweet it was definitely tragic to see how Beruka just couldn’t accept her affection which is what starts her spiral. Camilla’s reaction to the event was also heartbreaking and something that’s particularly notable about this fic is that it has a sorta ‘choose your own ending’ with chapter 4A being the bittersweet so-to-say ending and 4B being a straightforward tragic ending. It’s got something for everyone so why not give it a try
Miscellaneous Fandoms:
So I Can See You Again by Renjo: A rare fanfic based on the band Mili whose songs are known to have some extensive lore behind them. This one in particular takes a look at the characters of Tellulu and Lancel0t from their song “Ga1ahad and the Scientific Witchery”. This fic continues to depict the destructive nature of their relationship as seen in the song but it takes little hints of lyrics and adds context or theorized lore between them which helps make these characters and their world fleshed out. Additionally, it has the kind of subtle or perhaps not so subtle reference to body horror that Mili loves to sneak into their songs which was very well written. Definitely say give it a read while listening to the actual song haha.

chrom:
when you first lose your memories, he’s in shock. it must be some sort of cosmic joke that another one of the people in his life just so happened to lose their memories. but, he’s nothing but optimistic, and he doesn’t let it bother him for long.
of course he’s disappointed that you don’t remember him. it took him a while to accept that you’re not playing some sort of joke on him. but he’s more worried about you getting better -- his feelings can wait.
as someone who has been through this situation before, chrom is actually very good at handling it. he’s not a patient man in any sense of the word, but he is good at understanding and helping them get them back (if possible) and create new memories (if it’s not possible to get the old ones back!).
he’d probably introduce you to robin, because she’s been through the same experience! she’s good at talking you through things and helping you piece together little fragments you remember. chrom watches, and every time you remember something, whether it’s big or small, he gets so HAPPY when you come running to him to tell him what you remembered.
alfonse:
is so utterly devastated when you lose your memories. it’s like he lost his best friend and he’s having to start over. on one end, he’s thankful that you’re alive, but he hates that this happened to you, out of all people. he would rather it have happened to him.
he’s extremely patient. when you don’t recall an event that’s happened, he’s very quick to explain it in detail, no matter how long it takes. alfonse is pretty much at your side whenever he can be, trying desperately to help you remember something, anything.
every little spark of memory excites him, and when you recall something big, he feels over the moon. sharena and anna often throw “summoner remembered something” parties in order to express how
he’s very bad at remembering boundaries. he has to remind himself that just because you and him used to sit close doesn’t mean he can do it now. alfonse almost breaks down the first time you lean your head against his shoulder at a war meeting because gods you used to do that almost every day.
marth:
tries not to let things bother him for too long. he pushes aside all of the longing for you and turns it into helping you get those precious memories of yours back. you must be suffering far more than he, he tells himself.
he isn’t sure how to go about it, so he starts with telling you everything he remembers since you summoned him to askr. he recounts the stories all the way back of summoning your first legendary hero, to now when you were dealing with hel’s army. marth even leaves in the embarrassing stories about him getting wiped out by blue mages, just to see you laugh. it takes a while to tell the whole story, but your eyes light up every so often as you add in a fuzzy detail you remember. that’s the best feeling in the world to him.
sometimes, you find yourself getting frustrated that you can’t remember things, and he reassures you that everything will come back with time. and even if it doesn’t he’s sure that him and the rest of the heroes there will help you create much better memories.
it’s so worth it because after almost a year of trying to get them back, you finally are able to piece everything back together and you run into marth’s arms, breathless and smiling wide because you finally remembered that you were in love with him. marth sweeps you up into his arms and kisses you over and over, the two of you crying happy tears because FINALLY everything worked out!

Hey! Could I request some headcanons for Inigo with a s/o that used to always keep her distance, but once they became official she was glued to him? Lots of hugs, hand holding and kisses (but eye contact still makes her too flustered). Bonus if you want: sometimes she'll wear lipstick and purposefully leave a kiss mark on his cheek without saying anything. Thank you if you do!

Before dating, he might try to sneak an arm around you while you sit together

Prompt: Hi! So, I've been replaying FE: Awakening recently and I was wondering if you could write some relationship headcanons for my trashy husbando Gangrel, please? Thanks!
Notes: Absolutely because I too love this steaming pile of beautiful a-quality garbage. (Also I tried to make this more fluffy but my baby has a lot of unresolved issues so...)
○ Not so hesitant to get into a relationship but is kinda ‘oh God what do I do now’ once he’s in it (like an indoor cat when it sneaks outside) so he tends to pull away a bit not far into a new relationship
○ If they get through that though Gangrel is theirs for as long as they’ll have him. He’s super loyal - like, super loyal
○ Gangrel loves to show them off. He’s always holding them when they’re out so others know they’re together
○ Yells out your achievements when you do something good so others will notice how Perfect and Amazing you are. He’ll tone it down if you’re not comfortable with that but he may forget the odd time as he gets used to not doing that
○ Nothing can stop him from bragging when you’re not around though. Honestly sometimes it gets annoying but he actually doesn’t care
○ Spoils his partner absolutely stinking rotten like ‘you asked for this? yours’ ‘you didn’t ask for this? well it’s yours anyway.’ Sometimes his methods are questionable ‘you want that house? Shall I murder the people who live there and take it?’ but he means well
○ He’s insecure so he gets jealous easily, but has a hard time admitting it. His partner may have to stop him from punching a random strangers teeth out because they were flirting or smth and he’ll need a lot of reassurance
○ Gangrel is very happy to dole out praise to his partner though like he compliments their everything. Has a bad habit of negatively comparing their bad qualities to his on occasion to try to make them feel better, sometimes jokingly, but still... (like ‘you think you’re not pretty? Well look t my God-awful mug and you still love me right lol’) You might wanna help him work on that one
○ Gangrel loves to play with his partners hair a lot he finds it very relaxing
○ Often has a hard time sleeping or is woken from nightmares. Watching his partner sleep and cuddling up to them at night is very comforting for him and he does it quite often. He’d never tell though
