on the topic of relationships in the terror i wish there'd been more time to explore i want to know what bridgens and fitzjames had going on. i mean obviously being his steward after franklin died means they must've spent a fair amount of time together in fairly close proximity, but bridgens was the only other person allowed in that tent when fitzjames was dying and was genuinely distraught to see him go, which implies a level of intimacy and trust that goes beyond the professional. the best way i can think to describe it is i feel like bridgens would've offered to walk jfj down the aisle if he'd lived long enough to get married. jfj would put bridgens down as his emergency contact. do you get it.

charlie leaving her depressed gf and her depressed dad alone to bond for 1 hour and coming back to vaggie ordering around a not very small army of rubber ducks while lucifer happily moves them across the floor with his stick as instructed
a few have been customized to look the like hazbin hotel crew. the one for sir pretentious is hanging from the ceiling. they somehow fit husk's ducky in a whisky bottle. angel's is positioned like it's lounging on the bottle. cherri bomb no. 25 is about to get launched skyward by an actual cherry bomb. pretentious' eggs are just boiled eggs with top hats drawn on in marker, one of them already loaded into a spoon catapult. niffty's duck is siting on note with the letter A on it- the note it pinned to the floor with every sharp item in the hotel. alastor doesn't have a duck he has a taxidermized deer head in headphones painted to look like a rubber duck
you said she needed a hobby! charlie's dad says as she tries to take in the scene. it's a lot to take in. vaggie hurries over. c'mere babe- you have to see this!- vaggie says dragging her into the middle of the chaos to show her their two duckies. they're snuggled up and tied together with lucifer's bowtie
charlie thinks for a moment then moves them so they're kissing
the duckening continues for another hour and only stops when keekee yoinks down duck pretentious and runs off with it, sparking a hotel-wide rescue mission that EVERYONE gets dragged into, somehow

I find it interesting that hayley clearly sees the mikaelsons as her family and feels a deep sense of love and loyalty towards them, but she’s been consistently shown to be wary of hope being raised around them.

people have pointed out the symbolism of mace repeatedly referring to lake as “girl” and how that plays into the transgender metaphor, how he represents society’s bigotry and bias and whatnot and done really good analysis about that
but i would also like to draw attention to him referring to jesse as lake’s boyfriend while taunting them
and how lake doesn’t really react to that, just disdainfully ignores him
compared to following scenes where lake fiercely defends the validity of their and jesse’s relationship and only ever uses the term “friends”, doesn’t even use ambiguous words like “he loves me”
and idk i just feel like that kind of ties in as like, mace enforcing heteronormativity/amatonormativity onto lake and jesse’s relationship, just like he could be interpreted as forcing a cisnormative gender onto lake, just like he is canonically forcing mirror law onto them.
and i may be projecting as an aroace (just like i may be projecting as a nonbinary, tho the trans metaphor is a lot more blatant) but. idk it just means a lot to me that a friendship can be so fiercely defended and a platonic bond can be strong enough to bend the laws of the universe

okay while we’re at it, i’ve seen ppl clown on kabru for being all “they seem to be very good friends” about falin and marcille, but like, he’s not wrong? they are childhood friends first and foremost. beyond being dungeon dykes who take sexually charged baths together, their relationship is very much defined by their history together as inseparable schoolmates and that formative bond that unites them in a way that defines and also sort of complicates the romantic and sexual aspects of their relationship. like, i definitely do think those elements are present, don’t get me wrong, but i also think that a lot of their closeness, the intimacy and comfort and protectiveness and possessiveness they display around each other, is also largely a product of the fact that they were extremely close during a very formative period of their lives, and that kind of formative intimacy never really goes away, especially between young girls. and that adds a really fascinating layer to their relationship, i think, so it’s sad that people dismiss it in favor of being like “i love lesbians” because i, too, love lesbians (naturally), but i love them, specifically, because they’re interesting.

I just finished reading chapter 58 (Bond & Loid and the burning building) and it made me realize just how wholesome Loid and Bond are!! I love their dynamic 🥺
Loid going into the burning building for Bond, saying training comes second, telling him he's a part of the family, mentioning going to the park with the family ARGH I love them!!!
I feel like a lot of people are sort of keeping an eye on Loid when it comes to developing attachments to Anya and Yor, but he totally cares about Bond too 😭
The typical "it's just for the mission so the Forger family has no problems" comes out at the end of the chapter when Bond shows ✨affection✨ please this man is trying to convince himself!! It's very "Dad becoming very attached to the pet he very explicitly expressed he did not want" type beat. and I love it RAH
I also think it's cute how a lot of his attachment / care for Bond is because Anya loves him so much ... And he knows how much she cares and therefore he cares, too, because THAT'S HIS DAUGHTER AND HE VALUES THINGS THAT SHE VALUES 🗣️🗣️🗣️ (a lot of this is still for the mission i'm sure but I'd like to believe at least part of it is bc he cares about Anya fr hhnbbgaRAH)
Another thing I love is that Bond is really the only one Twilight can openly talk to about really anything spy-related outside the agency and seeing him talk openly about Operation Strix to Bond like that at the end of the chapter (and him literally having a full on one-sided conversation with Bond and taking him on a mission because Bond obviously "wanted revenge on the scientists") makes me think Twilight might absolutely vent about spy things to this intelligent dog constantly simply because he can. which I think is hilarious. Absolutely allergic to having an honest conversation with anyone but will YAP to his dog (that he didn't even want . classic father move).

At a certain restaurant in Berlint, the capital of Ostania. Lily, a waitress at this restaurant, which is popular for its not-too-luxury, yet stylish, chef-created cuisine that uses plenty of carefully selected ingredients and its comfortable atmosphere, was in the midst of her marriage hunting activities.
“......But I think marriage isn’t really that good, is it?”
After being rejected by her blind date partner again, Lily pouted and ranted to her colleague Rose while setting up the tables before the store opened.
“You’re just saying that because you don’t want to admit that you got dumped again, aren’t you? You have to take things seriously or else you’ll be left behind, you know.”
“I-I didn’t get dumped! We just didn’t have the same values! You’re just making fun of me just because you have a soon-to-be-husband boyfriend!”
Lily said, pissed and let out a sigh.
“Geez, I’m gonna stop looking for a marriage partner! I’m fine with being alone! I can live all by myself!”
Lily crumpled the napkin she was folding in sorrow and frustration, only to be scolded by the older Rose again by saying “Hey!”. On top of that, she also lectured her on how she needed to get a little more grip of reality, at which Lily puffed out her cheeks as she complained.
“But, looking at the families coming here, they don’t look happy at all.”
“Yeah….well, you’re right, that’s actually true.”
“You know, like that couple for example, they’re scolding their kids but they have terrible table manners themselves.”
As Lily gave an example of a customer she seen at the restaurant while refolding a napkin, Rose grimaced, “Oh, I hate that.” Then she added, “Now that you’ve mentioned it, there’s also that newlyweds who were fighting in front of their food. I wish they’d do that kind of thing at their home instead.”
She set a single flower vase in the middle of the table as she cited a certain customer.
Lily, who was energized by this, added,
“Say, do you remember the old couple whose husband complained about everything?”
“The guy who said, the food was tepid, or the service was slow, or the pictures on the wall looked old-fashioned and the tablecloths were wrinkled, and so on, right? While her husband was complaining to the manager, the wife looked like she wanted to just disappear from this place. I bet her husband is like that all the time at home.”
“That’s so suffocating, isn’t it?”
As if imagining it, Rose wrinkled her eyebrows deeply. Not only that, she also shuddered with disgust.
“Well, marriage doesn't always equals happiness, after all.”
“You’re right.”
After that, the two of them continued to talk about the unhappy marriages of their customers, and at the end, Lily’s shoulders slumped.
“Ohhh….if we look at it like that, marriage is the graveyard of life. Maybe that’s the reality of it.”
“Oh, but, then, how about that family?”
Rose said as she turned the silver spoon around.
“That family?”
“You know, that family that you said the husband is just your type?”
“Ah! The Ho-Ho-Ho something!”
“The Forgers. Aren’t they the ones who always make sure to make a reservation before coming here to the restaurant?”
At Rose’s words, Lily nodded and said,
“Oh, that’s right, the Forgers.”
The Forger family consists of a father, mother and daughter. They are a family that anyone can recognize as someone from the upper class within a day, but they don’t take it personally at all. They’re friendly, courteous, and kind to everyone in the restaurant.
The tall, smiling, soft-looking Mr. Forger was quite handsome and he was exactly Lily’s type, but his wife, who looked plain at first glance, but if you looked at her closely, she had a well-defined face and an outstanding figure, was very kind to Lily, who made a mistake in serving the wrong dish, and was even considerate of her feelings as she was very worried at Lily for her mistake, at that she easily concluded that she was no match to her and raised the white flag in her heart. She remembers it well.
“A handsome husband with a beautiful wife, and on top of that, their child is very cute too.”
Lily sighed as she smoothed out the wrinkles on a nearby tablecloth.
Their daughter must have been around four years old? Even Lily, who is far from motherhood, gets a tingling feeling as she recalls the child's slightly slurred speech and her childish antics.
“Actually, I saw that family not too long ago at the city zoo.”
“Oh, that time you went on a date with the twelfth guy? You were rejected spectacularly by that one, right?”
“Don’t remind me! At that time, the husband was watching the giraffe with his daughter on his shoulders. The daughter was so excited that she imitated the movement of the giraffe’s head and wobbled around a lot. At that, the husband scolded her with a wry smile, saying “Hey, that’s dangerous,” but he held her tightly so she wouldn’t fall off while his wife was looking at the two of them with a smile on her face.”
It was like a scene from a happy family movie. She remembered that she felt like crying, partly because she had not had a good conversation with her blind date partner.
Oh, they look happy. Ah, that’s nice. It was a sight that she could honestly think like that.
As Lily was being sentimental, Rose recalled,
“I heard that her husband is a doctor.”
“That’s right! Ah, I’m getting more and more jealous now…Anyway, why do you know that?”
“I overheard their conversation while I was bringing them their food. By the way, his wife is a city hall employee and their daughter is a student at Eden College. They’re a perfect family, aren’t they?”
“Eh? That kid? That little kid is a student at a very p-p-prestigious school!? That kid sure is smart! Anyway, how come you know that much? Are you a spy?”
Lily literally rolled her tongue at her colleague’s ability to gather information.
“What are you talking about? There’s only so much fun you can have as a waitress.”
Rose, having finished setting the table, scruffily replied,
“Oh, by the way, I see that you have an appointment with the Forgers today.”
“Yea-....a doctor husband, a hard working wife who works at the city hall and a daughter who is a student at Eden huh….”
They’re truly a picture perfect happy family. She’s sure they live in a beautiful home and spend their days filled with love and peace.
Imagining their dazzling appearances, she squeezed her eyes shut. They were too bright for Lily’s eyes.
“Oh right, it seems like they also have a big dog. You’re a dog person, right?”
“A big dog too!?”
As she saw Lily, who almost collapse on the spot due to her jealousy, Rose teasingly asked,
“So? It makes you want to get married now, doesn't it?
Lily clutched the hem of her apron with both hands and declared with tears in her eyes,
“Rose! I’ve made up my mind! I’m going to keep looking for a marriage partner even if it kills me!”
----However, the girls didn’t know. That the ideal family that they thought was a normal picture perfect happy family was actually a fake family made up of complete strangers. And the Forger family itself also had no way of knowing that their pseudo-family had contributed to raising the marriage rate in Ostania.

Ok anon asking what would happen if another omega came in ur a genius
bc now I’m wonder what ur take is on hypothetically what would happen if they had another omega into the pack?
because Price was the one who claimed reader first, he’s technically “her alpha”, so would the new omega technically be assigned to be claimed by Ghost first to become “his omega” or would John also claim her, being the pack alpha?
furthermore, what would sharing look like? Would it be evenly distributed? I image the boys (for the sake of keeping things calm) would try to make it so, but I imagine it can be hard.
because what omega wouldn’t be possessive of their pack when a new omega (a tank who’s made to be loved and doted on by alphas) is coming in? (I know I would 🙋♀️).
If the New Omega is coming from an institute like reader, which I assume would be the easiest supply of omegas for adding into military packs, I image she would also be relatively damaged and need a lot of attention to heal, just like reader has (she’s nowhere near healed ofc, but we’re getting there)
If we’re going down the angst route, just imagining the tension and irritation of having to share your bed and your alpha and your beta with some newcomer, having to watch them get attention that was previously just on you, UGHH I can feel it and IRS NOT EVEN REAL

So, I think if they added another omega, it would be for Simon (and by extension Johnny) to have an omega. It would offer more of a balance, one beta and omega for each alpha. So Price wouldn't necessarily need to claim the second omega, because Simon could be the one doing that (if they found an omega he would be interested in).
Price could claim the new omega too, depending on how the relationships develop, but he wouldn't necessarily have to since it's pretty common in larger packs with multiple alphas for each alpha to claim their own omega. They do occasionally share and two can claim one omega, but typically each alpha has at least one omega they've claimed.
That being said, I don't think there would be a lot of jealousy from the reader if they did bring in a second omega. It's a very common occurrence, and even though the reader came from a small family pack, she still knows that's a reality and to a degree prepared for the possibility of being chosen and claimed by an alpha in a larger pack. The 141 is slightly different in their structure than larger packs (given there's only five of them), but adding a second omega would kind of smooth that out a bit.
There might be a little jealousy at the beginning during the adjustment stage as the others attempt to bond with and make the new omega more comfortable. If that omega came from an institute, however, I think that would only serve for a bonding opportunity for the reader and the new omega. Shared trauma and all of that. Only they really would know what it was like, and so having someone there who you can talk to who understands would be a great way to open up and get closer to each other.
Pack relationships can be pretty fluid so I don't think the new omega would stand in the way of the reader and Johnny's bond, or even Simon, just as the reader wouldn't really stand in the way of the new omega bonding with Gaz or Price. They need those bonds to be a cohesive and stable pack, and they wouldn't necessarily have to be romantic or sexual in nature. Platonic bonds and familial bonds are just as strong as the others.
Honestly, the omegas would be spending a lot of time together and I think the only jealousy would be from the guys because they would get so close so fast lol. They would definitely use it against the guys too, laying the "sweet little omegas being cute together" on thick to get what they want. They'd probably become the closest out of the entire pack, because as I've said before when I discussed jealousy, only omegas know what it's like being omegas. They don't have it easy and they have a lot of shared experiences regardless of their backgrounds, and so they don't really see each other as competition or a potential threat. They tend to bond pretty quickly together, when it's allowed, because there's a lot of empathy and sympathy for each other.
So yeah, that's kind of how that would play out. Jealousy isn't really a thing, unless an alpha is purposefully neglecting an omega in favor of another, which just wouldn't happen in this situation because that causes some serious disruption in pack bonds and stability, and the 141 needs to be a very cohesive and stable pack in order to function efficiently and effectively. Plus, I just don't see the guys doing something like that. They'd definitely make sure both omegas feel loved equally.

anon thank you SO much for this mental image. you have made my very miserable assignment-filled day. I have many thoughts about the sannin and baby sannin being inseparable best friends who were just normal kids make up about 90% of them. here's some hc I have about that (sorry for the massively long post, I'm a yapper at heart)
yes absolutely. I like to think of the sannin as misfits who never fit in anywhere else except with each other. there's so many different reasons for this. we know they became genin at age 6. if this makes them the exception, rather than it being the normal practice for a village in tumultuous times, then this must have meant each of them were prodigies in their own rights in the academy (yes, even Jiraiya I'd say, though I'd suspect his was more a case of recognised potential rather than showing any obvious prodigal talent from the get-go). this is further reinforced by the fact the third hokage became their sensei. I doubt the hokage would've taken up any random group of genin as his students. if this is the case, can you imagine how difficult it must've been for them to make friends with others, their age or otherwise? not only would it be hard to relate to their other peers cause of the age and probably ability gap, but I'd imagine people would've found them downright intimidating! all this, along with all their individual personality which, if their 6 year old selves were anything like their 50 year old selves, would've meant the little baby sannin would not have been anyone's first choice of friends.
so I'd imagine each of them being a bit of loners in the academy. then they get put in a team together. recognise they each stick out like a sore thumb from everyone else, but have all of the above common ground. their personalities are difficult for each to get used to initially, but once they do, these three super super super quickly become absolutely inseperable. to call them family would've been a serious underestimate of their relationship imo.
anyway this is all a long winded way of saying YES they're absolutely those regular childhood best friends who have sleepovers and hang out and play games. I imagine that tsunade grew up with a massive family in a massive loving home. direct contrast to orochimaru who's an orphan and, I imagine jiraiya is an orphan too (hence no canon last name). therefore, the senju compound is typically the designated sleepover venue.
the senju compound has mito, and nawaki, and depending on what your hcs are, would have tsunades parents, and I'd think they'd still effectively live like royalties even if the first and second are dead. (hashirama and tobirama wouldn't be around anymore by the time the three became genin I think, because (and someone correct me if I'm wrong) hiruzen would've already been hokage when he took on the three of them as his students, meaning tobirama would have already passed)
jiraiya and orochimaru just being at awe at the way tsunade lives and just how lively her house is and tsunade is just happy to have kids her age at home with her that just gets her cause her parents always nag her about training and chores, mito still treats her like a baby even though she's already a Shinobi that can take care of herself damn it!, and nawaki is so young he's so boring and sometimes gets annoying. so she always convinces her fellow teammates to come over to her house to practice and train, to babysit nawaki with her, to be the test dummy for try out this new jutsu or technique she's learning, and anything else that she insists she cannot do alone and needs them to be there with her
until suddenly it's already dark and oh her teammates can't possibly walk home all alone at this hour and besides my mum's making dinner and it's your favourite jiraiya and she'd scold me if I didn't offer some to you guys and orochimaru, mito found some sort of old scroll that uncle tobirama wrote about a new jutsu that she wants your thoughts on and besides, we have to meet sensei soooo early tomorrow for our mission and the training ground is closer from my house anyway, and you guys are just trying to get out of the bet we made and that's cheating y'know! and and and suddenly the senju compound just so happen to always have a few sets extra clothes and pyjamas that just so happened to be orochimaru and jiraiya's size and hey oro, raiya, look! it's got toads and snakes! and it matches mine! and the adults always just so happen to have two extra plates set at the table during meals, and the house just so happens to always be stocked up with both her teammate's favourite snacks, and orochimaru and jiraiya can suddenly enter the senju compound at any time of the day, with or without tsunade, and are greeted joyfully by the household's residents who had started nagging at them about training and chores and picking up after themselves, and mito is treating them like babies even though they're fully trained shinobis! and nawaki is being sooo annoying today and damn it, why isn't tsunade home yet? we agreed to train at 3!
(the three of them never quite notice that jiraiya or orochimaru's unannounced visits to the senju compound never trigger any of the seals that are activated by the presence of non-senju, non-family chakra in the compound. they never quite notice that the anbu guards at the front never give jiraiya and orochimaru any of the trouble or scrutiny that any visitors or guests to the senju compound are always subjected to, and the guards merely let them in with a slight bow of their heads, the same way they would to tsunade, or mito, or her parents.)
the only other times the sleepover isn't at tsunade's place is when there's a thunderstorm and orochimaru insists he needs to spend the night at his apartment because he tells them that last time the storm was this bad, lightning had struck a branch that smashed through his apartment that, if he wasn't already there and was even a little slower, would have destroyed the very few things his parents had left him that he so carefully keeps in a chest and he cannot ever take the risk that that would ever happen again he lost his power and his food went bad in his fridge, and c'mon tsu, you know oro not-so-secretly has a fear of thunder! don't you remember what happened last time at that mission where we were camping? we can't possibly let him spend the night alone at his house!
(later on when they're older, they'll come to find that jiraiya's new jonin apartment will become the new designated sleepover venue as jiraiya begins bringing back questionable sake from his missions that they were definitely too young to be having that he could not have possibly obtained that legally, and mito started banning them from playing card games at the senju compound when she noticed her granddaughter's tendency to lose her entire pay packet in a single game was becoming a bit too familiar to her... like a certain husband of hers' gambling habits that she had tried so hard to make sure wouldn't get passed on to the grandchild who the man had unwittingly taught said card games to at the age of 4. jiraiya started to call his apartment the degenerates' club then, much to the other two's dismay. though they couldn't quite protest when he correctly pointed out they were absolutely behaving like degenerates, even if princess tsunade and the leaf's once-in-a-generation prodigy felt like they were above those sort of disreputable behaviour.)
jiraiya and orochimaru fight tooth and nail that the massive forest that makes up the backyard of the compound, created by the shodaime himself of course, is the only reason they choose to hang out with tsunade at the senju compound, because princess tsunade (dammit oro stop calling me that!), the shodaime hokage seemed to have left so many fascinating things in this forest, there's so many secrets to discover. I don't think I've seen any of these species anywhere else in Konoha. I believe the secrets to some of his jutsu or techniques lie in this forest... oro you're such a nerd. and besides, Princess, the snakes here really seem to like oro for some reason and I think the toads are about to make me their king, I'm sure of it! and also, me and oro are the only people who don't find the fact you use the slime from those slugs in your potions or whatever absolutely disgusting, so we're the only friends you have to play in this gigantic forest with in the first place (it's not potions, it's a new medicinal gel I'm creating! and can you two just shut up? hide and seek is supposed to be a SILENT game and right now, you both really suck at it! I can literally locate you without even moving!) ...hey tsu, is mito-sama going to make those cookies she made last time again? she told me yesterday she would cause hiruzen-sensei told her we did a good job on our last mission.
the three of them knew everyone in Konoha had started calling them the 'Hokage's brats' behind their backs. but none of them realised that, particularly among the elders, this didn't seem to just be in reference to their sensei... there were other, more hushed whispers going around that if they had tried to listen to, would've sounded something like the adopted senjus... or lord first and second's legacies...
(these rumours may or may not have started when people started noticing tsunade's parents went from talking about their two children they adored, to their three rascals plus sweet little nawaki. or when mito kept comparing jiraiya's antics and personality to hashirama or orochimaru's brooding nature and hunger for knowledge was like tobirama's, or how tsunade's own hot temper and tenacity but also mischief was like her own's and the many Uzumakis that came before her, and that all three of them together balanced each other the way she, hashirama, and tobirama had. or when hiruzen constantly raves about his students and how much he sees his senseis in each of them and how the will of fire burns so brightly in them that he knew lord first and second would be extremely proud to see. in the end, though tsunade may have been the only one who shared a name with the senju founders, everybody couldn't help but see hashirama and tobirama and everything they had been and everything they had stood for in all three of the legendary sannin.)
