Just realized how similar leo valdez and sokka are
1. Good with technical stuff
2. No mom and a difficult relationship with dad
3. Surrounded by people deemed more powerful or important than him (the 7 and the benders)
4. Left by someone they were starting to care deeply about because of something more important (echo and the moon)
5. Comedic relief no one really takes seriously
6. Overlooked (7th wheel and that one time they stopped to retrieve everyone's stuff but sokkas)
7. Anxious and jealous when there's someone more respected around him (jet and jason/percy)
EXACTLYYYYYYYYY I'VE BEEN SAYING!!!!!Also for Zuko cause i did Katara and Aang(Percy and Nico/Hazel).It's Beckendorf-Big bro son of the fire lord who can't flirt da girls but is so slay.........And for Beckendorf he was an eldest brother(lesbian).Charlena can be Ty Luko for reasons that don't need explaining!!!
if I’m being honest, I feel things only take weeks or months because people aren’t living all the way in the end. I’ve seen a lot of success stories where once people start really putting in the work and dedication, their shit shows up. It probably took them months just to stop half assing shit. I remember it was taking me months to manifest my SP, and no texts or anything. I was literally manifesting my SP for over three months but I was allowing negative thoughts to take control. I would only affirm a few times and spend the rest of my days complaining. Then one day I got super strict with my mental diet and got my SP in days (it was less than five days later) it’s not that things take time it’s just that you’re probably wavering and that’s why. When you don’t waver, shit manifests within a few days at the most.
EXACTLYYYYYYYYY TAKE CONTROL AND DONT MF WAVER🗣️🗣️and don’t hold the assumption that it takes forever for you to conform to your 4d because it doesn’t. the moment you imagine it in the 4d is the same moment you have it.
what really bothers me is that boygenius brands their music as a sort of meta-critique response to a male-led rock music industry (doing phtoshoots inspired by old bands, calling themselves the boys, calling their album "the record") but their music is so nothing that the whole thing falls flat. like it's great that you ladies did a rolling stone photoshoot inspired by an old nirvana photoshoot but that doesn't make your music as culturally significant (or, let's be real, as good) as nirvana's was. i think conversations about who gets to make what kind of music are important when talking about the music industry as an industry, but there's nothing revolutionary about middling indie pop. they're riding the influence of better artists and then framing it as a provocative homage rather than laziness. it's like people saying strangerthings is good because it references old 80s movies.
no exactlyyyyyyyyy you 10000% understand. 'the record' as the title pissed me off so. bad . ..like... for someone to say that they're at all breaking boundaries or really doing any interesting meta shit is wild. they're just not. i said this in the post but.. i think it's very telling that they referenced leonard cohen, arguably one of the most influential and great songwriters of the 20th century, and boiled his legacy down to "horny poet"... like. if you're trying to take down/infiltrate/match this male-dominated industry, just tearing down great artists isn't the way to go? i mean i guess it is since everybody loves them lol but the vibes are so incredibly off.
You're so right!! Atla is a whimsical and entertaining show for CHILDREN. The points made are sometimes too straightforward and a little cliché, but it's ok to have that in kid media. No excuse for racism however. It's ok to let go of things that have become outdated and that we have outgrown... I'm getting sick of endless remakes and adaptations of the same things. Like Dune, that we should've let in the 60s where it belongs. The book is still there for historical purposes, we don't need to bring it up again in a new coat.........
exactlyyyyyyyyy 👏🏼 and the thing about these remakes is, all their problems aside, they have nothing interesting to say! there's so many stories out there we deserve better than the same thing over and over. I get so angry thinking about all the newer brilliant works by poc that would make amazing films/tv shows. but instead white people just recycle their own wanky stories that they learned nothing from.
your post about how the lack of accessibility for one need isn't the fault of that person with the need really resonated with me. ive got both physical and mental accessibility needs to go places, needing space for a wheelchair, a "quiet space" for sensory issues, various needs for my deafness depending on where im going, etc. every time i look up what the activity/business's accessibility options are, i get both sides of me ignored in different places. one site might mention tons of accessibility options for autism (and, often framed like it's specific to autistic kids but that's a whole other conversation to be had) and not even once say if there's an elevator or a ramp. one place might mention they have elevators and ramps to get into all entrances and floors, even offer a PCA employee, but then mention nothing at all about a quiet space. and my Deaf accomodations are almost never mentioned at all.
i just can't relate to people who have these experiences and blame it on the other disability for existing and receiving accommodations, instead of directing their annoyance at the ableism of the business/event for not being thorough and specific. it happens an equal amount across all my disabilities, so to me it makes zero sense to blame other disabled people for it
Exactlyyyyyyyyy. Accessibility sucks for everyone and it makes no sense to be mad at other disabled people because they happened to be the ones most helped by the lackluster accommodations provided at that specific venue. The problem is that ableist society never takes into account anything besides what they're legally required to, and often not even that, and the legal requirements are mostly a joke when it comes to what the people they're supposedly designed to help actually need, and they themselves were hard won against ableist politicians that were mad they couldn't make the icky disableds disappear.
I love how the media now is like is there too much of taylor/ is there Taylor fatigue like they weren’t reporting on every time she farted for the past year like you guys are the ones writing 10 million articles on her every move 😭
