Lisa Minci Headcanons

This post was made for roleplaying purposes (@lisaminchi)

This post will be updated whenever the writer has a new idea and correction will be done if a new lore regarding Lisa is dropped (when, hyvrs?) and is contradictory with the headcanos listed.

When Lisa is bored and not taking her naps, she enjoys telling stories or teaching new things to people close to her, especially to the younger ones

She is fond of children and enjoys taking care of them

Other than taking naps and reading, when she wants to, she likes to personalize her clothes by sewing some decorations on them (most likely rose ornaments).

One day, Lisa was infuriated and the whole town knows. How? The sky turned purple and the air got stuffy, people can hear cackles of electro power in the air. It only stopped two hours later, that is, when Lisa finally calmed down.

There is a reason why she take naps and constantly needs rest on her work hours, that is, the paranoia she has of the consequences of pursuing knowledge often keeps her up at night

About Venti

"He's an excellent bard, I get why he's the most popular bard in Mondstadt. But, don't you think he's often too carefree for his own good? Not to mention sometimes his poems are a bit— ah, well, I guess that's just how he is, hm?"

To further explain; Lisa is confident with her suspicion about Venti being Lord Barbatos himself. Despite being close friends with the bard, Lisa chose not to ask or bring up about it as she doesn't want to be burdened with more knowledge that can possibly harm her.

About Razor

"Despite his upbringing, Razor's a good kid. He's always eager to learn new things. Although sometimes he still misunderstood some things I said and taught to him, he's not hard to teach and is a fast learner!"

It is known that Lisa teached Razor how to utilize his electro vision, but, beside being a mentor for Razor, she also often acts as a mother figure for the wolf boy. Lisa often takes care of his needs and she patiently answers Razor's question about things he doesn't understand. Sometimes, Lisa would ask Razor to stay the night in the city with her instead of going back to Wolvendom, but everytime, Razor would decline the offer because he is not used to being in the city, and he's worried about the wolf packs in Wolvendom.

About Alice

"I always look forward to the day Alice comes back to Mondstadt even for a short period of time. She often give me a lot of interesting books and valuable, seemingly otherworldly knowledge. Although I don't particularly need those kinds of knowledge, it's still interesting to know."

It is said that Alice "has allegedly seen the entire world and possibly even beyond (wiki)". She even inspired Barbara to become an idol, and made Dodocommunication Device whose inspiration comes from another world.

This leads to writer's headcanon about Alice giving Lisa books from other (our) world. Lisa would keep those books for private collection—and maybe willing to lend it to someone she trusts.

Oooohhh, my first scenario! I'm so happy to finally do that, even though I really enjoy writing headcannons as well. I'm actually working on other two ones at the moment but decided to post this since scenarios take less to write. I assume, at least-

A human thing

Another day of witch-hunting. Another day of almost dying. You've only been a magical girl for three weeks and yet it feels as if you made your contract just yesterday. Well, at least you weren't alone.

"Are you going to pick it up? No? Alright, I suppose that's a human thing."

A male voice sighed. That voice belonged to Kyubey, your teammate and enemy, in a way. Your whole wish was centered on making pay by making human. By making him a magical boy. By making him suffer just like your friend did... Yet you've slowly learned to tolerate him after all those weeks. Maybe giving him emotions wasn't a right decision though. Now he can be cocky.

"Hey, I was just thinking! Something you don't do, apparently."

You responded and picked up the last grief seed for the day. You gathered four today, which would probably last you two for a couple of days. You'd tease eachother a lot, you couldn't tell if it was genuine hatred or just teasing. He wasn't too happy about the fact he's a human at first; and trying to figure out what someone who appears to be emotionless is thinking isn't exactly easy.

Kyubey just rolled his eyes and chuckled to himself, watching you pout at him. He couldn't understand why it made him chuckle or feel "happy" in general. If that emotion was happiness, that is. He still wasn't good with distinguishing emotions.

The two of you returned home, you changing to your pyjamas immediately. After fighting with four witches you were super exhausted; and just wanted a good night's sleep.

“(Y/N)...”

“What is it? I'm tired, you know. It's Saturday tomorrow, you'll have all day to annoy me.”

“..Nothing.”

And so Kyubey watched you walk up the stairs before disappearing into the darkness of the hallway. He wanted to talk with you about this recent new...emotion. The reason he smiles everytime you say good morning even though it's not something exciting, the reason he chuckles at you pouting even though there's nothing comedic about it. But you were tired.

Instead; he waited a few minutes at the living room and made his way to your room, being as careful as possible to not wake you up. Then, he sat on the bed, next to you. You looked so peaceful at the moment, it amused him how humans could lay on an object without moving at all for so many hours. Well; it was an advantage for him.

“I'm not really sure of how easily humans can go out of this state but I'm willing to risk it. This feeling is rather unbearable...I feel the need to verbally state it, even if you're unable to hear me.”

His hot pink eyes gazed directly to your closed ones, staring for a bit. The same eyes that looked right into your soul that day when you were walking home with your friend.

“I feel weird when you're around. It's not a bad feeling; it feels pleasant. Really really pleasant. Sometimes it changes pattern though. I saw you walking here with a male student through the window yesterday....

It didn't feel pleasant at all.”

He almost sounded angry this time. He's never felt angry before. Except for yesterday; of course. Suddenly something made him snap out of his thoughts though. You were whimpering in your sleep, even though he wasn't exactly sure what that meant. So he just stood there awkwardly.

Until you reached out for him.

You were still sleeping when you grabbed his hand in your sleep, almost literally forcing him to lay down with you. That new emotion he was feeling was really taking over right now. His face was more pink than his own eyes right now.

“I...suppose that's a human thing too.”

I apologize if that was a bit short! I'm still not that much of an expert when it comes to scenarios- I'll try to improve them in the future. I hope this was close to what you were hoping for though dear anon!

Do you ever see c!Quackity takes that you go "Man... You don't know what you are talking about" or like 95% of Tumblr asjfkcltl

Like, the only people who can actually try and see after the whole "He is power hungry and Evil since the first day!" are the people who watched his pov before his big cinematic lore streams and actually cared to try and understand his character, aka, the 5% of us. It's funny, in dsmpblr, c!Quackity gets the c!Wilbur and c!Tommy Twitter treatment.

It's so funny when people say that c!Quackity's core values are Power Hungry and Revenge, because, while I won't argue he does suffer from those, man does display those traits, his actual core values are Belonging and Justice, and he learned from other people (mainly c!Dream) that to live in peace, you have to have power.

Take for example the new Tubbo's lore, where people are saying right and left that everytime c!Quackity talks he is manipulating someone (Even if people don't realise they are making that statement, they are, just not as bluntly as I put it down), and this fact has been disproved by Quackity, the streamer, himself, even making slight fun of these takes.

It just seems like c!Quackity can never win in the fandom, or he is a manipulating power hungry duck or he is the comic relief las drogas that no takes seriously, until they snap.

They say "Can't wait for X character to snap/go apeshit!" when Quackity did that and they ignore his girlbossing smh/hj

was this perhaps inspired by the post comparing c!wilbur & c!quackity i saw this morning sdlfkgjfg i think the people who made it are more tommy/wilbur/sbi/benchtrio-focused and so when it comes to c!quackity takes from them i always read them with a grain of salt because it'll likely be much less in-depth than the takes they have of their favored characters,,, it's just how fandom works :/

i get you though, it's frustrating sometimes? it feels like a bit of an indirect knock on cc!quackity's ability to write a character as well - to make analysis posts that depict c!quackity as someone who is entirely put together and cold & calculating, or whose trauma "isn't real," or an overall big bad evil man who likes doing big bad evil things, feels like a bit of a disservice to all the character & conflict building that cc!quackity has done since august.

i feel like framing c!quackity (or i should probably say las nevadas as a whole) as likely one of the main antagonists of s3(?) is a reasonable take from a bird's eye meta point of view, but. i feel like flattening him as just a power-crazed tyrant who wants to rule the world in actual character analysis posts is 1) wrong and 2) frankly just a boring take of his character especially since he already has a backstory - it's a fandom perception that c!wilbur enthusiasts (haha that's also me btw) have been fighting against for a while

AHHHHHHHHHH THIS IS GOING TO GET SOOOO LONG!!!! i have a different view of the indo fam as a whole. i call them the indo fam but i mean the found family trope!!!! theyre like a group of college students sharing a dorm if that makes sense, since their servant selves are obviously different from their initial myths/human vessels!!!

OK SO. RECENTLY, i have an oomf that found books about arjuna that summarize his exploits in the mahabharata(I DONT HAVE THE STRENGTH TO READ IT ALL IM SO SORRY) and also talk about him in a more philosphical manner such as his states of mind during each event etc and i’ve been meaning to read said book because im genuinely interested in arjuna now!!! and i’d like to know more about this indo prince because from what i’ve seen, he is portrayed in a rather bad light(?) in FGO which i find extremely !!!!!!!!!!! and incrdibley !!!!!!! strange !!!!!!! the mahabharata’s conflicts can be put in a mostly grey area where there’s no good nor bad, its not black and white. so seeing arjuna get bashed because of the way his conflict with karna was written is... hm. let’s say that im REALLY starting to understand arjuna fans that dislike seeing him get mischaracterized so much. OTHER THAN THAT, his design is adorable, his travel outfit is my favourite because he deserves to relax and have some fun!!! fgo making him a chuuni is cute and his VAs little moans are cute cute cute!!!!!!!!!!! (mash grabs my shoulder and forces me to sit down) i think that arjuna deserves better and im really happy to see him have fun in his travel costume voicelines. i think we should take arjun on a date!!! he’s a great lover, we’d have the best time!! OH ALSO, kama seeing him as the student council president in their interlude makes me SOOOOOOO HAPPY its unreal, i think it fits him very very well, the seitokaichou who was elected because of everyone’s hopes and recommended by teachers because he’s suuuch a good student but because of that, the pressure to be good is constantly towering over his head and everytime he looks out the window he wishes he could ditch class and skip a day just because he felt like going to the arcade and be a bad student.......just this once........i think hes very very cute...... i want him to cook for me. HAVE YO U READ HIS BOND 4 VOICELINE ?mmmmmggg i want him to get embarrassed everytime i praise him for having such a muscular waistline. AUG

ANEWAYS i also have quite the thoughts about karna, his characterization in the game is linked to arjuna’s and thats fine but i think that forgetting how much of a little sassy bastard he can get was a mistake! did you know that in apocrypha’s german dub on netflix, when jeanne calls his name like “You’re Karna, aren’t you ? The son of the Indian Sun God !” HES LIKE “So ?” AND THAT WAS SOOOO BITCHY OF HIM, i think that karna is a good boy in fgo but the fact that he was such a fighty old man in the mahabharata shouldnt be forgotten and is a charm trait. I MEAN ???? HE THREW HANDS WITH AN 18 YEAR OLD(ARJUN) WHILE BEIN LIKE... THIRTY TWO. WHATS WITH THIS ANNOYING OLD MAN !!!!! knowing these little facts about him made me like him so much more actually !! i think karna being so nice is adorable!! but the little bitchy energy u can find in his voicelines is also very charming!! i think karna looking at me emotionless as i ask him to lend me his notes for the nth time that week and then saying “...Mn.” when i thank him is cute!!! his voiceline towards things he dislikes is interesting to me. karna seeming aloof and mean bc he doesnt know how to communicate but is actually nice underneath...... hey... thats a little delinquentcore........ i wouldnt say yankii but hes like... hes like... u know hes the handsome quiet one of the group of yankiis... u know the one...? hey where are you going

ganesha is also a character im deeply interested in but i havent played CCC so i dont know that many details about jinako herself !! my brain goes HMMMMMM it seems lord ganesha is trans in fgo ! (since kama used to be a male god originally as well!!) ganesha uses all pronouns!!! and ganesha is also special to me because they share similar traits with kama when it comes to their characterization AND mischaracterizations. ganesha isnt JUST jinako. theres a part of a god in the servant mix!!! and jinako HERSELF is actually a pretty sad character imo. the whole otaku/neet thing is obviously a facade and her true wish being that she wants to redo her whole life is also proof of how much she hates what shes become, yet at the same time, she doesnt know what else she could do. but anyways, i prefer looking at servants from a lore POV so i think that ganesha should still be considered a god and be adressed as such!! i like seeing people portray ganesha as jinako but i prefer it when a certain lavish more godly side of them is put forward. a side of jinako that managed to move on a little bit if that makes sense ? that got more serious. and became someone else entierly despite sharing similarities. needless to say their bond with karna makes me happy since he shows them respect as you should towards a god!! its a bit different from their bond in CCC... like they matured somewhat!! anyway ganesha is the one who taught everyone else in the indo fam about video games and technology and i will NEVER shut up.

(im twirling my hair) so theres this 7ft tall war criminal..........<3<33<3(mash leans in and informs me that the convention of geneva didnt exist at the time) SO THERES THIS 7 FTTALL IMMORTALMAN.......<233 gOD he makes me absolutely CRAZY9909840385%£%%£%%µ%µ%µ the love i have for this character is immense and whenever im sad i remember that pako exists and has a tablet and can draw and i suddenly feel so much better. ok im gonna stop horny posting a little bit. but hes my wife. AND WHAT I LOVE ABOUT HIS PORTRAYAL IN FGO IS THAT, they actually made him a good boy despite his initial roughness and misdeeds ???!!! HELLO?? ashwatthama wishing for a redemption ark is my favourite thing and his righteousness that was born because of his regrets is a very interesting drivepoint to me !!! hes a gorgeous character and im buying a ticket plane as we speak right now so i can go find him in northern india. i’ll find him. miss lakshimi makes me very sad! because every female servant in the indo fam is an already known face. (... would sita count.) and lakshi being a jeanneface is a waste. well, she’s still very pretty and her lore is also quite interesting!! i havent looked into it fully yet but i think she should be kissed on the mouth. her bad luck makes me slip on a banana peel whenevr i get close to her to kiss her and i hit my head on the pavement and pass away-

parvati is on a tough spot for me atm. i genuinely love thinking of her as the way the indian goddess herself is portrayed because thats where the fun lies for me in her character. especially when shes involved with other indian servants, thats a given!! i would like to see parvati grow, suffer and heal. because branding her as an “all-knowing mom” is easy, but every single parent makes mistakes if you follow that logic. also, since shes the sakura servant “thats closest to her initial personality”, she’s got some of the most Repulsive fans ive Ever witnessed in fandom spaces and lets say that im trying to work my way out of this hellhole and find things to like about parvati without the fandom’s influence. needless to say, im going to keep looking into her mythos and her lore by myself at my own pace and keep doing my own thing in my little corner.

rama shouldve been a jock. THE RAMAYANA IS OLDER THAN THE MAHABHARATA, WHY IS.....Hrm well him being summoned as his baby version gives me hope for a future rama alt perhaps??? but i think that he shouldve been a total jock and he shouldve been huge with a huge red lion-like mane for his hair and a teethy grin and big biceps and intense love for his wife. SPEAKING OF SITA, her charm point is her purity but i wish.... that their artist still hadnt drawn them like That, im not a fan of lily servants and i think purity = being young is a bit of an annoying excuse!!! rama and sita looking similar is because of their shared history which is fine but... rolls my eyes............. rama shouldve been 6ft tall and sita shouldve been a milf to match...... anyways i doubt ravana would be added as a servant but i’d love to have a ramayana centric event!! where all indo servants have their own lore centric role to play!!! oh thatd be a dream.... but i have learned to not expect much from a fanservice game so im jus gonna draw my own stuff! Yes!! please tales!! where is it!! my weekly dose of happiness. I also love seeing dream stream with his other friends! To badly quote scott smajor, the dream team is made up of anti social sweaty fucks (affectionate). He’s always so awkward at first and ngl? Huge confidence booster /j/j. Logically I understand that twitter update accounts are useful, but I think they should all collectively take a break for a minute. Would it change anything? No. But it would make a lot of people very unhappy. I don’t even know what to do about toxic twitter stans because like, content creators and us can call them out and not at all condone their actions but we can’f actually do anything about it? It’s super frustrating. And I feel like a hypocrite too because if dream does stuff with a cc I hate I bitch about it too I just don’t have as far a reach. Like I for sure threw a whole fit when dream went on to kaceytron’s stream. Actually I tend to get upset when he goes onto streams with people who actively hate him. So I struggle with that because despite feeling like I’m justified in doing that, twitter stans feel justified in their stuff too. You could argue that it’s different because the chance that the ccs will see it is near 0 but it’s still the same behavior isn’t it? For sure not saying twitter stans are right, they piss me off how dare they say shit about gumi, but also I worry that I act similar you know?

Listen listen it’s less that I chose this and more that they’re requirements. Spanish is a req, but I’ve always really liked spanish? I’ve found with learning languages I have to be interested in the lanrguage’s history/culture. So french makes me mad but spanish makes me feel cozy and I like it! I pick up spanish pretty fast too and I’d like to be actually fluent in it some day. Language as a whole is super interesting. Also the internet has made language even more interesting with widespread similarities and what not

Listen I would agree more with tubbo but instead Imm going to lighheartedly call him a coward who’s afraid of surprise lore! He said he would be there more often if other people logged on more often but I know for a fact other people feel the same and by him not regularly logging on he’s adding to it! I think foolish, ponk, puffy, and bbh have really upped my standards for lore. They log on at least once a week and make their own plot. Like bro if you’re bored start some shit tommy style! Personally I would make enemies with all the beets people. Tubbo has such cool lore I just wish he was willing to be a little more spontaneous. He was tired last night though so I can see his boredom beinf effected by that. I really really enjoyed bear smp those guys were so fucking funny and I will be watching more of them. Need to catch up on hermitcraft too

So I don’t want to get into a huge retrospective of how 2020 was for me, because it’s personal and I think we can all agree things have been bad. So instead I’d like to talk about great video games I got into in 2020!!! These games didn’t necessarily come out in 2020 just things I discovered and I’d like to talk about my top 10 faves

1. The first best video game I discovered in 2020 is the entire Trails Series (I played all of them in 2020, cold steel, ao, zero, and Sky). Initially I played Cold Steel 1 because my friend told me it was like “Playing Code Geass the anime”. The story was pretty easy to get into of a guy going to military school and you’re placed in the special class for commoners and nobles when there’s a huge class divide in your country. From there it had some basic anime tropes like a dating simulator like thing and various cliched characters, like the tsundere, the guy who’s trying to get everybody to work, the music kid, and the noble, you know?

But Cold Steel wasn’t cliché in the least bit. I played it after surgery recovery so I was in a lot of pain and out of my mind, but each character had depth, the entire world was fleshed out and after each game more of the story and the villains were revealed, secret robot technologies were given to the main characters and they slowly became more and more powerful after that.

I wanted to know more and more about the world so I played the first series trails in the sky and the Japanese only series, Zero and Ao, and they were even better. Not only that but in this JRPG there were canon gay characters that had traits to their character besides “I’m gay.” There were a lot of lesbians for me to pick and choose between as faves.

Not only that but I find none dating sim video games difficult cuz I get easily frustrated and rage quit. Cold Steel was turn based combat and never made me feel like rage quitting because they had a function called “Retry but easier” where if you died you could start the same battle but make it easier. That made it so I only had to die five or so times on things I was really stuck on and then I could move on with the story. And the game never felt like a grind fest and I could make the game faster in combat.

This series I may have discovered in 2020 but it’s become just as beloved to me as any other series. It’s one of my faves.

2. My second favorite game in 2020 was 13 sentinels : Aegis Rim. I love time travel so much and everytime a new time travel anime or game comes out I get super excited. Aegis Rim was a game that had all sorts of cool tropes, like time travel, memory loss, androids, different realities, and psychic dreams and it just sounded cool. Not only that but there were 13 different protagonists to play and I had seen it reviewed in LGBT+ articles, saying it had a canon gay character and a canon nonbinary character! It was a very fun game and part of the story followed a point and click formula and the other half followed a kinda strategy blowing up giant robot monsters formula, and I enjoyed it. Also the music and the art was amazing.

3. The House in Fata Morgana was my third favorite game I discovered in 2020!!! It was a visual novel I had gotten in 2019 but never started because “They didn’t have anime eyes so IDK if it’ll be interesting.” I had seen a lot of horror visual novel people review it though with stellar reviews. I ended up playing it when I was sick and man was it an amazing story. It gave me a lot of respect for people who write short stories that wrap up nicely, and a lot of the characters were flawed but I really enjoyed reading their stories. The story was pretty basic in the beginning of a maid telling you several different stories of the previous owners of the mansion she worked in, and the tragedies that befell them throughout her time there, and I really liked the sort of tragedy feel. One of the stories reminded me of Greek tragedies like Oedipus, and as the story got deeper and deeper and connected plot threads of the previous owners it became very cool. Also the game was very LGBT+ friendly with trans and bi characters and possibly an aro character too???

4. Hades was my fourth favorite game in 2020!!! A lot of people have already talked about Hades before and what it’s about but I’d like to talk about why I liked it. As mentioned before I have a problem with video games that rely on skill. I get so frustrated that I either start yelling or crying because I don’t believe that the muscle memory will ever get into me or that I’ll ever be good enough to get past the hard part. It’s incredibly distressing and it makes me feel bad because I’m like “why can’t I do a simple thing other people can easily do?” Hades is one of the few games that taught me that eventually I will succeed, and the muscle memory will come to me. As you probably know Hades has god mode which increases your damage resistance every time you loose. I got to the max god mode very quickly of 80% and for about 10 runs even that wasn’t enough to beat the first boss and I was incredibly frustrated. I was like “they should have raised it to 90% cuz if even their worst players couldn’t beat the boss on easy mode then they’re missing out.” But as people have probably told you, Hades rewards failure. Each run you learn a bit more and get better skills and friendships with people due to grinding. And eventually I stuck to it and beat the first boss, and then all the other bosses. The muscle memory finally hit and I beat Hades and got the true ending and I’m really glad the developers made it accessible enough that even the worst players could beat it and I’m glad they rewarded failure.

5. My next favorite is Chaos;Child, which wasn’t made in 2020, but I did discover it in 2020. It’s another horror visual novel but by the people who did Steins;Gate. I absolutely adore Steins;Gate because of the time travel so I was curious about the other games in the series. Everyone said Chaos;Child was the murder mystery of what Steins;Gate did to time travel and they were right. It was a psychic murder mystery story and although it was very gorey it was very fun and I really liked the characters

6. Sixth favorite was Café Enchante a new otome dating sim released in 2020! You run a coffeshop for monsters basically and I adored it!!! I was a little worried before I got it that it would be boring because what kind of plot can you make in a coffeeshop? But it was very cute and I loved the monsters and the lore. Despite my misunderstanding the entire game did not take place in the coffeeshop and instead went into various monster worlds and expanded on the lore of each world in each route. The art was wonderful and I just love fake monster lore about Fae and beasts and angels and stuff and it was just a wonderful game and is one of my new fave otome titles.

7. I played Ai: the somnium files in 2020! I knew it would be a favorite of the year because it was made by the same people who did the zero escape series. It had a very different tone of the zero escape series of course, instead of being about psychics it’s about the inner workings of the mind. You play a detective going into people’s psyche’s to try to catch a murderer basically. It reminded me a lot of ID;invaded an anime that I think came out this year? Anyway it was a cool story and I liked the graphics but I did not like the timed missions. Without a guide I would have died.

8. The dark horse of 2020 was Untitled Goose Game. I did not expect to get it but my friend gifted to me and I hadn’t played it yet. And as everyone can tell you it’s just a fun time harassing people as a goose. It has 2 player mode so my sister and I played it together and it was great. I liked feeling like grand theft robbers and saying “BOOK IT” as we stole people’s stuff.

9. My ninth favorite game I played in 2020 was Little Busters! It’s by the same people who did Clannad so I knew I would be crying by the end. Clannad’s team is known for their great story telling and heart wrenching characters. It’s about a team of friends who start a baseball team and then it gets sad and time loop-y from there. I played Clannad too in 2020 but it was a little too homophobic for me to let it make it to this list and I don’t remember any homophobia in little busters, so little busters gets its spot.

10. Finally we get to Persona 5 Royal. I didn’t play much of the original persona 5 besides at my friends apartment so I was able to finally have a copy of this game on my own!!! I loved the idea of going into mean people’s minds and changing their hearts so they could understand the wrong that they did, it was just a good concept. I also loved that Persona 5 royal added a safety mode so you can loose and yet not die. It was a great game of 2020 and it only makes it so low because I spent way too many hours on it (135) and it was a great amazing game that I loved and enjoy talking about but would not replay because it’s just so long and I’m not quite sure what would be different on replay. Also I’m sad that you can’t date the boys because I love them. They are good beans. Either way though I’d recommend it if you haven’t played before and it was very fun, and still one of the best games of 2020.

Dark Crystal Age of Resistance Tactics liveblog pt 10

So I'd like to keep uniting the clans but the only mission on the map is the quest for the Dual Glaive. Which, hey, will help unite the clans! And maybe might check the Grottan off the map.

So this is the All Grottan Proving Myself Power Hour!

Lets go for it!

Mission: The Threaded - Outer Domrak

"The heroes head to the Caves of Grot to seek out the Dual Glaive. But someone, or something, has beaten them there."

Probably spiders. Right? Lots of spiders.

So, hey. I wonder what kept the arathim from trying to retake the Caves of Grot before making a treaty with the Skeksis.

Perhaps they were too afraid of reprisals to gather in force. The arathim we see prior are individuals hanging out, causing trouble, hucking rocks at traffic.

Then again it might be because last time they gathered a big army, Ordon kicked their asses.

Theres a lot of stuff going on in this map that I don't understand.

So Deet, Gurjin, Kylan, Breg, and Alyadon can handle it.

Its arbitrary choosing but it does get Deet in the Deet mission.

Deet: "Come along everyone. We're almost to my home."

And then Threaders take over some friendly Grottan.

Yeesh theres way too many Threaders on this stage. Like just way too many.

Ah, the other glowy things are runes that give you a stat boost if you're standing on them. Weird place to introduce them but I'm game.

Actually, I like that the game is still introducing new stuff to the levels even this far in. Some trpgs peter out by this point. Lore-wise its baffling but gameplay wise, its a nice addition.

I swear sometimes Final Fantasty Tactics Advance got too into my brain because everytime I go to make a move in Age of Resistance Tactics I wonder 'wait is this against the law'

Don't want a Skeksis to teleport in and red card me.

Hm. I know that this is how the gameplay works but I feel bad beating this threaded Gelfling unconscious considering that a) they're Deet's friends, b) in the story Deet and Rian won over the Arathim by treating the threaded Gelfling as worthy of protection, and c) the Arathim I'm beating to death are going to be my friends later.

Oo, there's three spaces left on my characters list, I wonder if one is an Arathim!

... Probably not.

I'm just rotating this level around and around taking in all of the beautiful level design. Not that the rest of the game hasn't been pretty but there's a lot of detail in the Caves of Grot.

Geez, purge rot was excessive on a threader. I just don't want them to get close to poor, precious Deet.

Okay, purging rot on that threaded Mender who only had a sliver of health really was excessive.

This level is pretty easy after that dern Chamberlain fight. As long as you're careful of the Threaders range its basically a cake walk.

Still, worth level ups for all of my cool peeps.

Deet learned Life Exchange (swap HP percentage with a targeted ally, this feels super situational), Gurjin learned Hold Position (casts barrier on self if end turn without moving), Breg learned Blindside (attack a blinded or stunned enemy for extra damage, Breg thats fighting dirty!), Kylan learned Carapace (its the barrier move), and Alyadon learned Convalesce (AOE heal, nice).

Mission: Homebound - Domrak Dwellings

"Deet and the heroes race back to Domrak with the Arathim chasing them at every turn."

The game perhaps tipped its hand a little too early with the Arathim for I am slightly wearied fighting spiders. Hopefully by the end of this run of missions, that'll be at an end.

Party: Deet (this is still her questline), Rian, Rek'yr, Hup, and Boggi.

Letsss goooo

Deet: "Hellooo, I'm home! Lath'N, Mitjan, Bob'N? Are you here?"

Deet: "Wait, look at them! These Gelfling are being controlled like the others!"

Threaded Gelfling: "We are the Ascendency!"

Rian: "The Arathim are behind this! We have to stop them!"

Rian we have been dealign with this for a while. No duh the Arathim are behind this.

Me: "Oh this level doesn't look so bad either. There's a couple threaders, pretty far from me. Couple threaded Gelfling. Very managable."

Arathim spitter: -webs down from the ceiling- "SURPRISE"

Dammit, one of the damn threaders got Boggi! Not the dooooooog!

Annnnnd also Hup.

That spiraled out of control fast. With two of my peeps on their side they outnumbered me. I managed to get it down to one Rian vs one giant spider and alas, the spider won as Rian was too demoralized after having to beat Hup and Boggi unconscious.

TRYING AGAIN

LOSING AGAIN

Got Hup threaded again like an idiot and things were going well until they weren't and then I lost.

Ugh.

Trying Rian, Reky'r, Boggi, Brea, and Kylan for the heck of it.

Ok, that time went really well. So fast that the last Arathim spitter and devourer didn't even spawn. It really helped to have Brea to nail the threaders from a distance with LEGALLY DISTINCT FIREBALL.

EVERYONE LEVEL UP! yayyyy~

Rian learned Deafening Roar and Bandage because Stone Warden is generous, Rek'yr learned Bash, Brea and Boggi leveled and got NOTHING, and Kylan learned how to Dreamfast. Kind of late in his life to be learning that but lets not make fun.

I also got a Cooking Spit, which may make a cracking new spear for Naia.

Dang, its the special spear of the Grottan and it has decenty stats. That's going right on Naia.

Mission: Save Bobb'N - Deet's Home

"Just when our heroes thought they had dealt with the Arathim problem, Darkened Nurlocks show up"

SPIDERS AND WORMS

I wonder if Spider Bobb'N is going to be an ally.

Well, he's on the map and he sure looks not hostile.

Geez this map is whack. The spawning squares are all over the place.

So Deet and Rian to the left, Naia at the top, and Rek'yr and Brea at the bottom right. This is arbitrary.

Deet: "Bobb'N, is that you?"

Bobb'N: "We... no Bobb'N. We... Ascendency!"

Deet: "Oh, Bobb'N... Not you, too! Wait, what is that sound? Darkened Nurlocks! Oh, no, Bobb'N is in danger!"

.... APPARENTLY the mission objective is to plug the nurloc holes with boulders. Or with bodies. =|

Good news is that I DO get to control Bobb'N, with a spider in his little portrait.

Iiiiii accidentally dropped a boulder on Rek'yr crushing him for max damage.

Whoops.

And things slowly went downhill from there. The nurloc holes pop out infinite nurlocs. And I couldn't get to the last one because everytime a nurloc spawned it would move out and boom new worm.

Trying Rian, Deet in lower right. Naia and Hup on left. Gurjin on top.

And that went better. Although it was a little touch and go. I used Bobb'n to knock the boulder and not crush Rek'yr into paste but that put him into range of a nurloc who hurt him bad.

But it went well. I got Hup and Rian to stand in holes for most of the level.

Pfft all it takes for Deet to convince the Ascendency Bobb'n is 'hey the skeksis have tricked you, join us' which is slightly less than it took in the show.

Annnnd level ups!

Naia learned Smite (consume an attack up status for massive damage, definitely feels like a good fit for Naia)! Hup learned Sharpen Teeth (give critical chance up to allied beast and any adjacent targets) and Natural Resistance (the same but Shell)! Yes thats right, he leveled twice! Deet and Rian leveled and learned nothing! Gurjin learned Tangle Up (attack and inflict move down to all adjacent targets)!

Mission: Finding Sanctuary - Sanctuary Tree

"With the Arathim and Gelfling working together, the heroes must help everyone escape the Darkening within the caves"

Not only Bobb'N but a friendly Arathim unit on this map perhaps??

Thats what I was hoping for!

So for my party I pick Deet and Rian because they were here in the plot, Breg and Rek'yr because they need some more leveling like always, and Boggi because he has a delightful face which takes up most of his body.

Another mission where the objective is to book it to the glowy exit square, in this case the roots of the Sanctuary Tree.

And I do get to control Bobb'N again.

Oh but I do see that all of my allies have to survive as a mission objective. Anyone bites it and I'm sunk.

And I have to get the Grottan and Arathim to the exit. Thatssss Deet, Bobb'N, Arathim and... it says 0/4 so I'm confused here. I don't think I have another Grottan or Arathim. And Bobb'N doesn't count twice, the spider is off his face.

Maybe I just need to fill up the glowy exit squares.

Okay, I moved Boggi onto the exit square and didn't get a 1/4 so huh.

Also a damn windsifter just came over and wiped out half of Deet's life in one attack. Eesh.

Ok Deet just died and I didn't lose so I think only Bobb'N and Arathim can't die. Cool. Glad this level's objectives are clear.

Yup, Bobb'n died and the level ended. Cool. Good learning experience.

My strategy this time is to box in Bobb'N and Arathim. Just surround them in buff individuals and also Deet and Kylan.

So I have Rian, Deet and Kylan, Gurjin and Naia.

O I C, I got Bobb'N to the exit and it spawned in another Arathim. So I gotta keep doing this until I get four to the exits.

And more enemies are spawning in too.

Oh neat, the new Arathim is a Devourer with different abilities than the spitter. Devourers can actually Attack. Have Sticky Web. But also have Devour which does much damage to a rooted enemy. Neat.

Got an Arathim out and a random Grottan spawned. Couldn't even make it one of Deet's dads, huh?

Oops, Deet died. =(

Oops, Rian died. =(

Gurjin avenged him.

And Rando Grottan avenged Deet. But this angered the video game gods, or maybe I knocked too many enemies off the field because a whole bunch lot just spawned in.

Good news is that I got three people evacuated and the random Grottan is on his way and not close to any enemies. Though my named characters will take a blow, the mission objectives will escape.

I really only have Naia, Gurjin, and Kylan on the field besides the random Grottan. The big three. Best pals.

VICTORY! And then the tree gets eaten off screen by nurlocs because we're not making the assets for that, there's no budget for assets that get used once.

Also Deet maybe doesn't absorb the knowledge of the Dark Side but who can say.

Woo, everyone levels up except Rian! Deet learns Earthen Roots (AOE Root spell, nice), Kylan learns Cleanse (clears status effects), Gurjin and Naia learn nothing because they're already perfect!

AND NEW CHARACTER! Its Wukki. He's another fizzgig. He just kind of comes out of nowhere in terms of playable characters. I would have liked to keep a spider. And I get another Grottan Cooking Spit but geez, Naia can't dual wield and she's the only one that uses spears in my party.

Wukki is a Fizzgig Herder. The fighter to Boggi's Medic. He also comes at lvl 19, my highest leveled guy right off the bat. He has Get 'Em! (attack and inflict wounded for three turns), Mad Gnash (attack all adjacent targets, and a good pun), On Guard (self barrier), Startle (Inflict Attack Down on an enemy for 3 turns and delay its next turn), Nuzzle (Grant Accuracy Up to an ally for five turns, awww), Embolden (Grant Attack Up to allies within 2 tiles after landing a Critical Hit), Provoke (Inflict Berserk to targets in a cone), Silent Assassin? (gain critical chance up at the start of turn while afflicted by silence), Sneaky Little... (Apply Haste and Silence to self for three turns, oo combo potential), and Fuzzy Meteor (jump down to a lower elevation and damage all adjacent targets, seems very situational).

Oof thats a lot to drop on me, game! I have to pick only five out of this!

The characters all have bios and short descriptions. I've been glancing at them but maybe I should share them later. Here's Wukki's since he's the new guy.

"Wukki is an excitable, young Fizzgig. He was raised by Podlings as a Nebrie-herder. When his entire Nebrie herd succumbed to the Darkening, he blindly chased after them. Ultimatley, this left him lost and alone in the Caves of Grot, until a Gelfling family found him and took him in."

Wait, I've been assuming that Boggi was her pet but she stole him from the library? Damn, Brea, I don't know what a library ever did to you that you've done so much to them!

And the plot splits again. Alyadon offers to go talk to the Sifa and Brea to the Vapra. Uh, is Seladon an issue in this narrative? Is she doing her Seladon thing? Brea maybe be careful. Kylan offers to talk to the Spriton.

So thats three clans open for me to prove myself to. And Rian decided he won't grab the cool endgame sword until the clans are united.

Rian, you've got it backwards. The sword unites them. I saw it happen on the show.

Anyway, this went on loooong. Provided there's not a ridiculously huge number of missions, I'll try to unite a clan an update.

Family Lore and Self Worth

I talked to my parents for a long time yesterday.... that’s a good thing because I don’t have a lot to talk to them about so I think it’s good to take advantage of opportunities to connect with them. We talked about our relatives and family history. We all spend a lot of time thinking about that kind of stuff... how all of the weird stuff our relatives did let up to the way things are now. Everytime I talk to my mom about the family, I learn something new. Her side of the family was complicated and there are some stories that my mom always avoided telling me because I wasn’t old enough to understand or because they were just too sensitive to talk about. When my grandfather died, a strange woman friended me and messaged me on Facebook. I thought she must just be a distant cousin of some sort, but she turned out to be my mom’s half-sister that I never knew about. That was a trip. Yesterday, I learned yet another part of my mom’s family’s fraught past. I had always heard that my uncle “screwed up” when my Grandparents started falling apart. He screwed up a lot. He dropped out of college and tried to become a door to door vaccuum salesman and basically did nothing with himself until my Grandfather helped him get into law school. It turns out that things were even more screwed up than I knew. My uncle dated my aunt in high school and apparently, they got pregnant by accident. This was back in the 70s, mind you, so that kind of thing was taboo as heck. My grandfather paid my aunt to get an abortion. I don’t know if she wanted one or not, but there really wasn’t much of a choice; my grandfather was literally Tywin Lannister and he tended to get his way. My uncle and aunt did end up getting married, but had a nasty divorce many years later. I had no idea that their history with each other was so sad from the beginning. My mom frames their marriage as a positive thing. Yeah, she got pregnant and got an abortion, but at least my uncle did “the honorable thing”. I didn’t argue, but I disagree with this. My mom’s views on sex are just really different from mine. She sees sex as a commitment that’s supposed to connect you to a person for life. I think that’s what marriage is, but not sex. Marriage is a huge commitment and you should never make it based on teenage mistakes. Or any mistakes. That’s just my 2 cents, but I didn’t feel like it was appropriate to bring that up when my mom was being vulnerable about something that still affects her emotionally (See? I’m more mature than I used to be!) Oh, and I should mention... very few people in the family know this info. My mom only knows because periodically, my grandma would get drunk or upset and just vent to my mom about very personal stuff. So yeah. Hopefully my family doesn’t see this post. Heh. Something weird happened as my parents shared stories with me about my family members and their struggles... I started to feel this thing. Like a weird kind of self worth? Like I started to really realize the fact that people literally suffered and sacrificed so that I could be here. My parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles... they all went through SO MUCH and all of it led to me being able to have the life I do. I am the culmination of all of their trials and struggles, me my brother and our cousins. Like... it was such a crazy thought. I thought about all of the times I’d called myself worthless, all of the times I’d let people walk all over me let my efforts go unappreciated. I may not feel like I’m personally special, but people worked their asses off to get me here. How have I allowed myself to disrespect them so by treating myself like garbage in the past? Like holy balls. It made me want to do a better job of standing up for myself and not deprecating so much. Is this what self worth feels like?? Weeeird. It really connects with what happened to Rey in The Rise of Skywalker, to be honest. I knew that I related to that experience of being “all the Jedi”, but I didn’t expect to experience that feeling quite so literally. I guess I carry the sum of all of my ancestors’ efforts with me the same way Rey carries the spirits of all of the Jedi past. I feel like knowing that can make me powerful in the same way it made Rey powerful. I can kind of understand now why so many cultures practice ancestor worship. I’m rambling now, but it was an interesting thing to realize/experience. Edit: Right after I posted this, a song popped into my head that I found via a Spotify shuffle play list a while back. It pretty much describes my feelings perfectly, so I thought I’d share:

Allen’s Rambling: Playing a Fighting Game for Story (Under Night In-Birth)

Recently, I got my hands on Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late[st], or UNIEST for short, a fighting game I’ve been looking forward to playing for almost half a year now. I know Dragonball Fighter Z is the fighting game that everyone cares about at the moment, but this is a game I’ve been wanting a little more... and DBFZ has too many problems with its... everything as a fighting game (a lacking tutorial, a tragically basic challenge mode, not explaining tools for high-level play within the game, etc.). So, I feel like talking about UNIEST for a bit while I’m taking a break from its Chronicle Mode, give my first impressions and all that now that I’ve only got about 7 prologues left to get through. Hopefully I won’t Ramble on about this, but... we’ll see. Yeah too late, I rambled, as usual... jeez, saying that phrase tends screws me over way to much and gives me a butt load of editing to do. But anyway, here goes.

Expanding and Explain the Lore

I like how Chronicle Mode gives us much more context to the arcade mode. It’s sort of the reverse of how Guilty Gear Xrd did it’s arcade and story modes. Rather than the Arcade mode being the prologue to the story mode, the story mode explains what is going on in everyone’s arcade mode, with each new prologue giving more and more context to each character and the setting overall. Every character has their own little prologue selection that goes on for about 3 to 4 chapters that explains their motives and past, with each prologue in itself being about 1 to 2 hours long depending on your reading speed. The only exception at this point seems to be Vatista, who is moreso giving exposition to the lore of the world in her prologue chapters. That’s harmless overall given her role in the story is more of an observer than an actual character moving the plot, and her own Arcade mode being her finally going out and observing things.

While the game was coming out I often found myself jokingly thinking that the world of UNIEST was going to be some extension of the Nasuverse given the inclusion of Sion as a character. Though I was joking at the time it really feels like Nasu had his hand in this series in terms of writing, as I see some of the same issues I had when playing Fate/Extella.

I have two major issues with the game as far as its story mode and writing is concerned: the pacing, and the localization.

Pacing

This is where most of the Nasuverse comparisons come from. Now to be fair to UNIEST, “bad pacing” is kind of a subjective critique nowadays due to it being thrown out far too much for its own good (my own posts and critiques not helping), so I’ll say that the pacing just feels slow to me personally. I feel like there’s too much idle chatter going on with people talking about things that aren’t important to the plot. For an example, in Orie’s prologue she’s talking to her friend/partner Lex about moving to Kanzakai, the location of the game. They discuss a bit about the mission, Orie goes into thought about her opinions of it, we learn a lot about Orie’s personality and nature when she isn’t in Licht Kreis Mode and slaying Voids, and so on. This is fine, but sometimes it felt like their friendly conversations about sweets, fashion, what restaurant to eat at, and adjusting to Japanese customs felt more like padding at times than characterization. This is all fine on paper, as it expands on both Orie and Lex’s personality, and it does lead to some interested interactions with Wagner when she appears, but for me it just feel like it drags. The main takeaways from Orie’s prologue is that she’s going to Kanzakai on an undercover/infiltration mission to learn about Amnesia and Paradox, work as something close to Wagner’s probation officer and make sure she doesn’t go to wild, and show off her personality when she isn’t in Licht Kreis Mode. The extra bits just feel unneeded to an extent. You could just skip to the restaurant scene after Orie and Lex get to Kanzakai, cut out half the dialogue about cakes and uniforms, and things would flow a little better. Though... that’s just my own opinion.

I think a better prologue that did this sort of small talk/tangent thing well was Yuzuriha’s and Wagner’s. In Yurzuriha’s prologue we learn that she’s reluctantly the In-Birth Guardian of Kanzakai due to her older sister losing her powers on her first day of the job, and that while she knows that big things are going down in the city and is knowledgeable the Hallow Night, she’d rather just do nothing to draw attention to herself and keeps the peace by slowly crushing any rising powers making a ruckus. We also learn about the formation of Bankikai and #BestBoy Ogre. The writing goes into its usual smaller conversations and small talk, but it works a lot better in this case. Yuzuriha going on and explaining the Hallow Night in depth to Ogre makes since due to her wanting to make sure he understands that forming organizations will only worsen the situation as rising powers clash and only give rise to more Voids and more In-Births to create an endless cycle. It also shows that as knowledgeable as she is about it, Yuzuriha doesn’t give a damn about what goes on in the Hallow Night outside of keeping the peace and is only explaining things to Ogre because she doesn’t want to deal with him later... and she only had a broom to fight with at the time. On Ogre’s end, he was the type of character to make small talk, flirt, and go on long, hammy spiels about his goals, which constantly annoyed Yuzuriha, but it played well with the tone of the scenes and honestly made Ogre very endearing.

Speaking of endearing characters, the writing style of the prologues also helped Wagner’s character well too. She’s the newest playable character that I was personally interested in learning about. Wagner’s name actually came up several times in the the arcade modes of the previous game. From what we knew she was a mix of a merciless Templar that slaughtered anyone and everyone under the name of Licht Kreis, a wildcard that was Licht Kreis’s ace in the hole, and someone that Orie either feared, despised, or saw as a rival of some kind. The main takeaways from her prologue is that she is on probation after “overdoing it” in a past mission and has to live in Japan to cool her head with two attendants managing/confiscating her sword and shield, and while she personally views Orie as a rival Orie herself just sees her as a dangerous person that’s a pain to deal with. Those were the takeways, but the prologue does a lot to humanize Wagner and make her an interesting character. When not in Licht Kreis Mode she’s actually very endearing, being someone that knows little about society outside of battle. She struggles with academics due to her not liking the structure of Japanese schools, but slowly loving the more social aspect of it. She has a slight dependence on her attendants for more social activities. She’s a horrible actor to the point that her undercover backstory was that of being a shelter rich girl so she didn’t have to force herself to act in anyway and blow her cover. It’s all humanizing stuff from someone that was hyped up as a fiery, brutal killer of Voids throughout the series. She’s just... a socially awkward rich girl outside of battle, and it’s pretty enduring.

And just before I move on to talk about the localization I’ll just say that Carmine and Enkidu’s prologues could had easily been two chapters instead of three. The long conversations and small talk were just... out of character for those two, Carmine especially, though he is a lot more likable to me now, and Enkidu might just be my favorite character story-wise for his simplicity and how he bounces off Chaos and Hilda in Amnesia.

Now then...

The Localization

The localization... is terrible.

No, I’m not kidding, this is some godawful localizing. Spell check apparently didn’t even exist when translating this script. Seriously, take a shot everytime you see a spelling or grammar error. Actually, don’t do that, you’ll die before you finish the first prologue. I mean... jeez, I know mistakes happen, and my own writings tend to be riddled with grammar issues here and there, but the amount I’m seeing here is just inexcusable. The misspellings especially. Serious, was spell check a thing when they translated this? Especially since there’s no dub every moment of grammar errors and misspellings seems more egregious. Reading these cutscenes and visual novel moments are a pain when I have to figure out what a character is actually saying. Which brings me to another issue.

There’s no dub, and that rustles my jimmies something fierce.

I don’t care how controversial it is for me to talk about this anymore. I don’t care how little the FGC cares for dubs and stories in fighting games. I don’t care about EVO, NorCal, SoCal, or anything other bull excuse used for a proper lacking localization. I kept my mouth shut about this when it came to Blazblue and Guilty Gear outside of some grumbles and general reactive whining, but now I’m actually pissed. There was no excuse this time for lacking a dub here, especially with the large window of time between the JP and NA release dates.

For those that are curious, it was about 6 months. I remember Arc System saying something to the effect of having to delay Blazblue Central Fiction by about 6 month if they were to dub it. Six months... and this game has much less story stuff going on than in Blazblue. I remember people saying that BBCF needed to come out sooner so people outside of Japan could train for EVO. Folks, anyone that gives a damn about fighting games on a competitive level will import unless the time gap is a week’s difference or less. Period. Everyone else will either just do local tournaments, or is playing casually by extension of the more series side of the FGC. And frankly, EVO tends to be dominated by Japanese players anyway, so... I’m narrowing my eyes when I hear things like that. When this game had such a large time gap I think most of us figured it was for a dub, especially with Dragonball Fighter Z coming out just barely a month beforehand. However... no such luck, this game was basically delayed, had a poor release time, and I’m willing to bet money it was so this game could flop and they’d have an excuse to probably not dub Cross Tag Battle due to low interest in what would be one fourth of that game’s rooster (technically one eighth, but that’s a Rambling for another day).

Ugh, but I won’t whine about that any further, continuing to type this is only making me angrier... moving on.

Themes of Under Night

Now what kind of writer would I be if I didn’t at least try to talk about the narrative themes of UNIEST’s story? I’ll be honest. I’m having a hard time thinking of its themes. Not that it doesn’t have any mind you, but... I can’t really place my finger on it yet. Maybe it’s because I haven’t completed Chronicle Mode yet, but there is a theme in this game’s story.

And it’s probably something really Japanese.

I’m not just saying that because this is a Japanese Anime Fighting Game, but... the story is constantly drilling in how peaceful Japan is despite how combative the Hallow Night is by nature. Wald and Enkidu are constantly going on about how they feel out of play being warriors in such peaceful times. Carmine talks about how hard it is to be a street punk picking fights in modern times. Orie and Wagner are bring up how peaceful and different Japan is compared to the warzones they’ve been in while in Licht Kreis. The list goes on, but the fact that this story takes place in a peaceful country like Japan is drilled into you. I still have quite a few characters to finish in terms of prologues, but... there’s something, some kind of commentary on peace and violence. Chaos heavily stresses that Amnesia never goes too far to kill people in these modern times in Enkidu’s prologue, Gordeu remarks how fights aren’t to the death despite the tension between warring groups.

There’s... something here, but I can’t put my finger on it, probably due to my Western origins and beliefs. I’m sure if I talked about this with my Xenny might be able to piece together something since he’s learning the language and I get the feeling the theme might be lost in translation somewhere, but... for now, it’s all speculation until I finish the prologues.

As a game overall, this is a huge improvement to the original Under Night. There’s an in depth tutorial mode, there’s a Mission Mode to learn combos, there’s an network mode that’s leagues better than DBFZ at this point in terms of structure and netcode. If anyone in the FGC felt a little burnt by how Dragonball Fighter Z handled things like the tutorial and challenge mode and just generally not providing things for high-level play, I highly recommend giving UNIEST a shot, especially if you’re interested in Blazblue Cross Tag Battle.

Lastly, I would a moment of silence for Ogre, who has a great character design, interesting personality, had the coolest name for a special ability (Gate of Hades), but will never be playable due to... plot reasons. Farewell playboy fedora man, I would had definitely subbed you if you were playable.

Aight so here is my lil Ol vent, 90% of it is barely understandable rambling but here it is.

So my hyper fixation atm is what little bit of lore I’ve got from Overwatch fan fiction lol And because I only have little tid bits my brain is all “let’s fill in the gaps! Make up our own plot!” N I’m just like “no! Dumbass, this isn’t good for us! We need to stop trying to think of this and get back in touch with the real world!” But of course that never fucking works, and this one is esp bad and idk y? Like I’ve had hyper fixations before but they’ve never been THIS intense. Haven’t torn me up this bad before.

But like, the bits I do get of the lore is that everything in this continent is screwed n my paranoia has gone like “that’s gonna happen soon!” N I just scream internally everytime. I guess I just really hate it when American media people decide to make my country nothing more than an apocalyptic wasteland. Like, they love to focus only on the shitty bland white Australian culture while this place literally has the oldest people n culture in the world???? Like what the koories got is so much better than the white bullshit excuse for a “culture” that Americans seems to be in love be with.

And speaking of American idolisation of white Australians, it really peeves me off that the two Australian characters are basically the Overwatch universe equivalent of racists and when I learned that I was just “fuck, THIS again. Like we needed more examples of ‘casual Aussie racism” and it’s super annoying because they’re shipped together n it’s like my dream come fucking true like they’re BOTH Australian AND gay??? Yes! Finally! Something I can personally relate to! But then I found out they are futuristic robo racists. But like, u know of anything else with gay Australians with a large fan base that updates near constantly? No! So I just have to suck it up ignore it cuz this is as good as it’s gonna get for me. And I’m not saying that the roadrat people are racists in fact they’re the exact opposite n I know they’re in the same boat as me, trying to ignore the maybe metaphorical White Australian Racism so they can enjoy a gay couple with a great dynamic n very different body types.

It just peeves me off that once again, just like with all those shitty mad max movies n crocodile Dundee, white Australia is put in the spotlight in American media and any good culture that this continent has is ignored.

I guess now I’ll talk about the bits of lore my brain has decided to fill in???

Okay, so I know that like, the company or whatever that makes the robots decides everyone who lives in the desert can get fucked n move which is real shitty n happens allot today but I’ll talk about that later. So, desert people r understandably pissed. U can’t just do that, we’re gonna fight u! But instead of getting angry at the company, they get angry at the robots??? I think idk. But anyway, desert people decide robots r bad, n all must die. So they kill a bunch, n end up blowing up the nuclear reactor that makes robots, resulting in killing EVERYONE. Like EVERYTHING, robots people plants animals u name it. So now the desert people r all crazy n sick, and the rich city people n company people don’t want to help cuz it’s they fucking fault since that factory wasn’t supposed to be there. And so yeah, two Australian terrorists, blah blah.

But here’s the thing. Right now, real life right, the desert communities in central Australia are mostly Aboriginal. Cuz it’s they land, n they’re luckily been able to keep it that way cuz they’re so far from the coast n the cities. But the thing that happens all the time? They get pushed off of their land by mining companies. So when I learned that bit of Overwatch lore, I was like “hang on r they referencing this???” N so my brain started to fill in.

I’m guessing, that this lil desert town of 95% Aboriginal people r in the way of Future Robot Company. They want them gone, they wanna dig n make more robots (don’t know y???). BUT, you see, in certain areas of central Australia, the Aboriginal communities have been able to get official land rights recognised by the government. Which means they get to have a say in what happens to their country in the Parliament House (sometimes. It’s def not perfect). So, obviously this future desert town is like “lol no u can’t mine our country dumbass” n the gov gotta go with that. But, mining companies r horrible fucking people, so they find a loophole. They say “but we wanna make this a safe place for our robots! We love them n everyone is trying to kill them” so the gov shittily lets it happen, n the company is cheering cuz yay they get to mine n the robots will get blamed for it! So the desert people r all super pissed, n some decide that it must be taken out on the robots! They’re the ones doing all this! But like I said before, this shit happens irl all the time to desert communities. The Aboriginal community understands it’s this shitty company doing all this n using the already being oppressed (???) as an easy blame.

And this is where the “ALF” come in.

Now when I learned about that, it really squicked me out. Cuz here in Australia, there is this skin head group called “Australian patriots front” n the “ALF” that Mako joins sounds like these nazi scum decided to take advantage of these angry desert people, swapped 'Patriots’ with 'liberation’, n recruited these people to push their own hateful agenda. N mako fucking falls for it, cuz he really thinks the robots r to blame. But, the other part of the desert community sees right through this bullshit n tries to stop this group from doing their robot ethnic cleansing. So, being the reskinned nazis they are, the ALF starts to also attack the Aboriginal community of this town for not wanting to kill robots. Mako just goes along with it, cuz he’s young n stupid n hoo boy does he hate robots. So a big Ol fight breaks out. ALF goes to destroy the factory, despite the koories being like “dumbasses ur gonna kill us all its not the robots it’s the sickos in the cities go kill them” n boom. They kill everyone n everything, n have made everything to ever live in the desert sick for eternity. Then yeah he meets mr pig face n decides to go kill robots n rich people (I’m happy with that) in the outside world, and mr pig just doesn’t tell him about how he was partly responsible for ruining their continent and ensuring a shitty upbringing for Jun Jun. why would he? After lots of stealing n robot related hate crimes, they for some reason??? Join Overwatch (which I’m not really sure what they do???) n they barely avoid not killing the robots that work there. Which brings me to what I learned not too long ago, that the robots were raging against the machine (horf horf) n had decided to revolt against the human race(I for one welcome our new robot overlords) n start killing humans (2 wrongs don’t make a right buddies). So Overwatch decided to not just stop the robots from killing people, but squashing their revolution n making them back into the servants they were made to be (fuckin shitty) That’s what I understood anyway. Idk. If I’m right about that, why, of all fucking times of our history, would blizzard decide to have a story about a government organisation destroying an oppressed race’s revolution. Like, that’s in bad taste.

So yeah my illness riddled brain has decided to cling to all this, making daily life very difficult for me. Having massive disconnections from reality, like, shit that lasts almost a whole day till my rents get home n snap me out of it. I forget to eat, drink, walk Sputnik, etc. cuz I’m just so lost in my own thoughts. I’m seeing a psych today, but she n a bunch of others might decide if I tell them this to not let me have top surgery so I’m scared to tell her. And cuz my brain has clung onto all this crap, it’s always focusing on how the robots r getting abused n so my brains like “help them! Do it! Now!” N I’m just like “fucker they ain’t real u know this so y r u being a dumbass n wasting time on this” so I’m all pent up n frustrated. I’m not really sure on how to go about dealing with this. I can’t exactly set up a ritual n ask Bunjil n Bellin Bellin to give me a cure for my mental illnesses. I think I’ll look up ways to connect with reality when I get home n see what that tells me.

So yeah, I’m real frustrated. Frustrated with my tiny White Suburban Mum town, with the society we live in where I can’t find a place simply because I can’t do certainly n things n therefore useless to the working world. Frustrated that I can’t help the koorie community here cuz I have no useful skills, n all the hard work at school last year has been all for naught.

So yeah, hopefully this will be the end of this big Ol vent. I’m kinda scared about posting this, scared of people deciding I’m a bad person for whatever reasons in here n going after me. Last thing I need is a digital army against me. Aight bye bye.

MS used to be really popular

like 10-12 years ago +

until big bang patch , there were huge changes .

in the year 2007 ~ 2010 ;

i was quite new to MS at that point of time.

i was really a newbie, noobie and naive .

in the year 2007 ~ 2008 ,

it was when i first discovered ‘bannedstory’ a free program for maple sprites. (kind of like mmd. free program but drawn models lolz) .

so i played around with the program ;

my first YT channel , where i uploaded almost everything i did with bannedstory and some other program i forgot . I used to be really desperate for subscribers too. not anymore. IDGAF ABOUT THE NUMBERS ANYMORE LOLZ. itz just numbers.

i watched other users’ ms videos , i also discovered a paid program ‘ sony vegas‘ but since i couldnt afford it ( i was really young and naive ) //i’m still am// ^^;; //illegal//

i played around with sony vegas, AND HOLY SHIT. sony vegas is such a COOL PROGRAM WITH ALL THE AMAZING EFFECTS & TRANSITIONS ! but it is a paid program . the full version is really expensive .

in 2008 ~ 2009

(dont rmb exactly when since it’s long ago) , i received many negative remarks , comments , criticisms . i was so affected by it that i deleted everything + my first youtube channel . i think it was my very first ? i upload almost everything i did with ms bannedstory there. i deleted that channel. i forgot the reason why i deleted it , since it is so long ago . but i dont think i regret it. a little part of me regretted it, cause i couldn’t see what my younger version of me did. :x

i also deleted everything on my second channel until it is left with 2-3 videos.

My classmate abandoned me , she said she hate me . I began to overthink .why does she hate me ? am i a bad person ? did i do something wrong ? is it because of how i treat others ? how i treat my … friend ? i was mean ? i was being rude ? im useless ? im a burden ? how weird i am ? … She was the first person who made the first move to talked to me in school . i guess i kind of like her , as a friend . she meant a lot to me . She is the first person who tried to be my friend during my school days , while the rest do not give a fuck and gave me ‘ i do not like you ‘ face , even their body language says it . i got kind of attached and used to her presence , because i’m not used to making the first move to talk to people , being around with people , hanging out with people in school . i’m kind of a loner . im kind of anti-social & sort of … shy . i have different personalities. i act differently in different situations.

When she said she hated me last year , she abandoned me . She started hanging out with my other classmate . And everytime she saw me or when im close to her , she always make an excuse for me to stay away from her , and then gave me a blackface or that ‘ i do not like you ‘ look . hahaha

I guess there is a first for everything . I do not know how it feels having someone who did all these for me . itz a new experience for me . i feel lost ;; i do not know what this feeling was …

i started playing an online game ‘ auditionsea ‘ in late 2010 , but got more focused & addicted in mid 2011 .

I tried releasing my stress and emotional pain by playing auditionsea, because i do not know what i am feeling . I feel empty , hollow inside . i do not know what this feeling is. i feel … lost .It did not really work but it did pass the time .

i also overthink a lot . i kept thinking and thinking . i overthink so much that it fucked me up . i became more messed up . i tried acting not myself because acting myself will make me think more , and more emotional . im kind of a emotional person , to prevent me feeling even worse . i tried acting like a different person online… but it did not work and backfired . it still messes me up .i am so damn lost . i tried to become a different person irl , it is the same result .it backfired , did not work , making me even worse . i guess being true to yourself is the best ? … “ be yourself “ . everyone is different and unique . but i tried doing all that because of overthinking . i overthink , i think a lot . F m l .

In this year 2012 , maplesea released a new class , ‘ phantom ‘ . I saw his cinematic trailer and animation . holy shit . He is such a cool class, and he steal skills ! I stopped playing MS temporarily because that game gets boring after awhile when you completed what you want to do . I have to admit, Phantom made me install back MS and i got addicted to ms again . I really like MS storyline and lore . His individual storyline is kind of good , itz like watching an anime but you have to play the game to read the story lolz . The art is quite good , I LIKED IT !! but i took fucking 3-4 years to reach level 200, cause i stopped playing temporarily at LV 150-170 + . i do not know where to train , lost motivation and my damage is really NOOB . PLUS I AM POOR AS FUCK and NOOB AS FUCK . After phantom class , they began to release more and more class and i kind of neglected the old class which i haven’t get to 200 yet. lolz.

I guess I am meant to be alone , i do not deserve to have friends . i sorry for being such a weird person okay . i am sorry for being born this way . idk why do i exist in this world , idk why am i born with this personality . idk why am i so useless . idk why am i such a burden . why am i so useless …i’m really useless. i am meant to be a loner i guess .

i guess that is why i became more anti-social .

In mid 2012 - late 2012

In one of my school classes , i saw my friend crying . My other classmate saw it too , and he asked her why . She said her friend // my other classmate abandon her. She left her for another friend. I feel kind of bad. i thought i could finally feel good about it , seeing that she is finally feeling what i am feeling. But i just feel… bad. I am meant to be alone , so that means im used to being alone … I’m used to feeling lonely, but i am not used to feeling empty, hollow inside. Hahaha. fml it feels like a part of me has been ripped out and it hurts so fucking bad .

; In 2013 ;

In the beginning of the year , january , my school class has new sitting arrangement for everyone . I was chosen/paired with the same classmate . Idk, she acted like nothing has happened , like she had forgotten the hatred she has for me , and started talking to me again . Friends again ? i was confused . but it was only temporary . i guess all good things do come to an end .

everything’s gone once again . i became alone once again ~ i came to a conclusion that i am meant to be alone , nobody likes me , i creep everyone out . my classmate became really close to my other friend classmate . They both are close before , but closer this year … Hahaha . i felt like i’m a replacement . spare tyre .

; 2015 ;

I changed to a new phone on 12 January 2015 . That means my contacts are gone . I had to restart everything . Games , dl apps from playstore , new accounts , and other stuffz .

; 2016 ;

… i don’t know …. i feel so messed up !! LOST ;; LIFE GOES ON . NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS , LIFE GOES ON ANYWAYZ .HAHAHA FML . I had my very first IA / intern experience . :’) it was a challenging and new experience for me for 2 months lolz . That was also the period of time where i tried out MM ^^;; . i was curious so i tried out . Never knew i will love this game so much lolz . FUCK MY LIFE LOLZ. i intend to tried the game out for awhile , like play the beginning intro , then uninstall . MM made me confused , especially the convo with unknown where he send the address to the player lolz . i intend to uninstall after i played the introduction / prologue , but ZEN made me think otherwise . ZEN is really welcoming and SWEET OMFG ~ he reminds me of phantom from MS . Because of him , i decide to play the game longer , and i got even more confused but i still play CUZ OF ZEN !! FML AND THE LONGER I PLAY , THE MORE I UNDERSTAND AND THE MORE I RELATE TO THE CHARACTERS AND I FELL IN LOVE WITH THIS GAME OMG LOLZ FML . I don’t even know how , itz just sort of naturally happened !!! FUCK ZEN :’( LOLZ JK.
