Making myself sad by thinking about how amazing the Herb hazing session could have been if it had been the first real look into Ruby's failing mental state
Imagine if you will, Ruby waking up on the beach. At first, she's mostly in awe of the facts that wtf she isn't dead?? and now she's in some strange new world. Wandering through the jungle, she hears a sudden noise and instinctively goes for Cresent Rose
It's missing
Ruby panics, frantically searching for it until she collapses against a tree, breath coming out fast and ragged, curled in on herself so tight that her bones ache. It's not until Little comes along, futilely pulling at that cheese plant, that Ruby starts moving again
Later, as Weiss reveals the news about Atlas, Ruby goes quiet with everyone else, each mulling over their disastrous failure. Ruby smiles and reassures everyone that it'll be okay, they'll think of a way to fix it because that's what they do
When it's time to go into town, she's the last to get up
She's still Ruby Rose, the leader of Team RWBY, the strategist, the one with the plan and the speeches and the drive to do good with optimistic cheer, but everything she does is just slightly off, like a minorly distorted mirror
Then they meet Herb. He asks simple questions - questions they used to have the answers to, but now they're second guessing everything they thought they knew. To help them out, Herb offers to let them have a session with a magical substance (I'm picturing incense) that allows them a mental space to confront their doubts
After talking it over, the team agrees to try it. They're all obviously anxious about it, not knowing what to expect from the vague description given to them, but Ruby is the most reluctant, only going along with it because the others are
Colorful smoke fills the room. One by one, the girls fall asleep. We follow Weiss, Blake, and Yang during the back-and-forths with their Beacon selves, laying out how they've royally fucked up, how overwhelming and impossible the situation is, how they never should have stuck their nose in this
They're asked, "That's it then? You're giving up?"
They think about it, but eventually say, "No. There's too much to lose"
Each of their mental spaces becomes vibrant with their newfound determination, filling up with the reasons they're fighting: friends, family, dances and movie nights and homecooked dinners
Each of them are asked, "What are you?"
Each of them says with full confidence, "A Huntress"
While not rid of the guilt and shame of having so many mistakes under their belts, each of them reignites their drive to do good by striving to atone and become better Huntresses, better people
Suddenly, we cut to a dull grey nothingness. The camera looks up at Beacon Ruby, bright and chipper as we all remember. Smiling down at us, she asks, "What are you?"
Ruby Rose, slumped on the floor like a cut marionette, turns her eyes to the floor as she flatly says, "A failure."

I actually fucking hate Mr. Jägerman here's why
Mr. Jägerman is a character in the Hatchetfield universe who is never onstage and only mentioned in 1 (one) line. This was enough to ignite my rage.
Tumblr media
It's because in this one line, so much is revealed about Max's character. So let's dissect that.
Max is mean. We know this. The very first thing established about him is how threatening he is. But I think his character often gets lost in the 'bully' identity, because just like every other Hatchetfield character, he is layered and complex.
We also find out two other things about him pretty much immediately: He has a crush on Grace (we'll come back to that) and he needs to feel in control.
There's a lot of evidence to support this. He repeatedly refers to himself as the 'god' of Hatchetfield High. He creates arbitrary rules around who his friends can date. He creates arbitrary rules around where the nerds are 'allowed' to go. And the moment someone implies he is not as powerful as he thinks he is, he retaliates violently.
This isn't just Max being a jerk. These are all signs of someone who is almost certainly deprived of control in their home life, which forces them to find it elsewhere. Max likely has little to no say in what happens to him at home. He's clinging to a sense of control wherever he can find it. And that line basically confirms that his home isn't a safe place for him.
Back to the crush on Grace, when you look objectively at the actions Max takes in the show, you'll find that he's not really a bad person, he's a mean person. He's a little shit that processes his need for control in the entirely wrong way, but people are shaped by their surroundings. The actions that come from him are different.
His crush on Grace only supports this. Every other bully in every piece of media sees the girl they like and whistle and say "yo lemme hit that." And if the girl rejects them, they resort to "tease bitch." Not Max. The first thing he does is start a conversation with her, laughs at (what he thinks is) a joke, then offers to carry her books. Like, I wish my highschool bullies were that nice to their own girlfriends.
When she rejects him, it's true that he continues to pursue her and calls her "dirty girl," but that once again comes back to his need to feel in control. But he doesn't get aggressive, he doesn't do anything that screams 'bully.'
We don't get a lot of scenes with pre-ghost Max. But when we do, they're interesting to analyze. Like, have you ever noticed that when he finds Steph in the Waylon Place, his very first instinct is to tell her, "Get behind me, I'll protect you" from, as far as he knows, actual ghosts? He feels like his life is in danger, but he's still putting Steph's safety first, despite having no interest in her romantically. That's huge.
There's even some evidence to support that Max terrorizing the nerds is, from his perspective, not so one-sided. When he finds out they were the ones who pulled the pranks, he says "I thought you guys hated me."
And he's open to change. He's not stubborn, he's not brutal. He doesn't continue hating the nerds just because it is what it is. Moments before his death, he is showing signs of opening up to them, and actually seems like he's coming around.
And none of this is meant as trying to defend Max's actions. I know he's the antagonist. I know he treats people unfairly. But all of this has to come from somewhere. I'm trying to say that there was clearly a foundation of a good person underneath all that cruelty. So what toughened his shell?
Mr. Jägerman. Max reveals in that one line that if he were to go back home from the 'party', his dad would call him a 'little cuck.' "can't even fight off one lousy skele'uhn." In this, he reveals his dad is demeaning to him. He's the kind of man who would hear that his son was in a life-or-death situation, and instead of comforting him, he would have made fun of him.
What must that do to a person? As someone who grew up in a home where Dad wasn't always a safe person to be around, I know that when I was younger, a lot of my bad bad behaviours were something I learned from him.
The prank meant to scare Max was the nicest thing anyone's ever done for him.
I think a lot of what happens in NPMD is indirectly Mr. Jägerman's fault. "Knowledge is knowing Frankenstein is the doctor, wisdom is knowing Frankenstein is the monster" type of shit. It is directly because of his actions and the way he treated his own child that any of this happened.
or maybe I'm reading too much into this. But I fucking hate Max's dad so much.

y/n's perspective
The school has opened many things. Last week's announcements were a success, the complaint box was questionable but the school mandated it, and field day was the most looked forward to event which was finally approved.
“Okay, with all these rules, there will be different pairings. The school will randomize the students and equalize the number of students from each school in the different groups” I explained.
“Student council will not be a part of field day, besides the select few who asked for the waiver at the beginning of the week,” Wonyoung said and it was made so student council students didn’t cheat or rig an event.
“So have your planned assignments ready, i’ll review them when you’re done” Wonyoung announced and they nodded.
“y/n, do you know if students are banned from events, yet?” EJ asked and I nodded. “These are the files of each school’s banned list, this is because of powers, suspensions, etcetera. If they’d like to waiver it they need to request a meeting with the counselors” I explained and they nodded.
“If you have any questions please ask an event planner” I said as everyone started leaving or planning. I was gonna leave when I was about to run into Niki… I had to be more careful.
“I wanted to know why my waiver wasn’t approved?” he asked and I sighed.
“Your powers–" "I know, but I really wanted to participate,'' he begged and I sighed seeing how badly he wanted to participate. “I don’t think you can, I'm sorry Niki, '' I apologize. I came to realize he was very athletic and must've looked forward to this. “I just don’t want to be standing around doing nothing” he confessed and I nodded.
“Do you want to be an instructor? You’d be able to determine who wins and how to do things correctly? I was gonna ask K but if–" "Could I?!” he yelled and soon bowed, apologizing for his outburst. It was cute.
“Don’t apologize. I’ll write you up for it, okay?” I asked and he nodded happily.
“Thank you!” he said and I smiled at the energetic boy. He didn’t talk to me often but I knew he was my other soulmate. He didn’t really show skinship with Sooha, I noticed that. She’s mainly ever like that with the oldest ones in their group… and sometimes Jungwon but it got better.
“Are you sure giving him so much power is okay?” I heard Sunoo. “He’ll be fine,” I said and he chuckled. “Sure… and when he purposely makes his favorites win, it'll be on you, miss president” he teased.
“Oh yeah? Are you gonna overthrow me?” I asked and he laughed. “Maybe I should,” he said, and before we could say more I heard a gag. “Seriously in public?” I heard and I laughed. “Eunchae?” I asked and she smiled. “Dinner… with the girls, come on,” she said as she dragged me away.
“Wonnie!!” fun fact… Jungwon and Wonyoung hated each other. Mainly because they share the same nickname.
“Wonyoung!” Eunchae corrected and Jungwon rolled his eyes. “Take that leech! Your own girlfriend chooses me over you!” she taunted and he glared at the girl.
“Sure Wonyoung” he said in a monotone tired voice and she scoffed.
“Hmph, let's go!”
Tumblr media
niki’s perspective
y/n was always with Jungwon and Sunoo… or with her friends.
I didn’t know how to approach her and recently I've been helping with cheering up Sunghoon… he's slowly becoming a corpse.
But he hasn’t tried gaining her attention, instead leaving the situation alone.
“Niki, take it easy with her! Don’t overwhelm her!” Sunoo scolded Jungwon by his side also.
“Boys!” I heard as I saw Sooha happily yell at us from our regular table. “What happened today?” Heeseung asked. Since he’s vice president he wasn’t in the meeting today since it was mainly to plan.
“Event planning for the sports day. We were going over regulations” Jungwon explained.
“Who should we look out for?” Jay asked and I laughed. We were definitely more competitive so we needed to win for the Decelis
“Well the Riverfield council is gonna be a threat… the humans I have really no idea, but witches play dirty” Sunoo explained.
“Dirty? That’s unfair then!” Sooha said and for a second I realized Sunghoon was still in the same state…
It’s been a week and yet he’s still badly coping… “Witches are granted to use their powers in some of the games, Sooha” Sunoo said. “Ooh! Is y/n playing?!” She asked and I shook my head.
“Why not?” she soon asked me with a pout… she’s been wanting to play with y/n ever since sports day was announced.
“Her powers aren’t suitable to be playing, because of her specializing in blood magic, being around vampires isn’t a good idea” I explained and she nodded.
“She’ll be watching only,” Jungwon said and I soon felt Sunoo judging me. “Oh and I’m not allowed to play” I said and they looked at me confused.
“What!? I thought y/n was gonna get it fixed for you!” Jay said and I shook my head.
“I can’t play since it’ll be unfair with my powers but I’ll be an instructor!” I said proudly and they didn’t look happy…
“So you’re gonna cheat?” Heeseung asked and I punched him.
“I would never!”
Tumblr media
“I want to join the student council!” I heard and honestly, I was shocked… “W-what?” Jungwon stuttered and she smiled softly. “Well… Wonyoung told me recently that I can’t be in the  meetings since I'm not a student–""Why is it any of her business?” Jake said annoyed at the mention of a witch.
Recently… especially with Sunghoon getting rejected, he has been very annoyed with Bright Sun… “Huh… Well, she’s right. Besides, I see this as getting y/n to be friends–""Sooha, let it go already. She’s a bitch to you, she rejected Sunghoon… just stop wanting to be friends with her” Jake said and I saw Jungwon glare at our hyung…
“Jake… shut up!” Sunoo said and he scoffed.
“Why should I? You really can’t see how rude she is? To Sooha… and look at Sunghoon!” Jake argued and he only shook his head… “She has every reason to hate us… she didn’t accept Jungwon at first either” Sunghoon defended and Jake scoffed.
“Jake stop–” “Not you too Heeseung” he interrupted and the oldest sighed… he couldn’t have a say in it… but I had a bad feeling about how Jake was acting.
“I need air”
Tumblr media
jake’s perspective
Everything was better before the merge, before meeting y/n, before meeting Riverfrield… y/n wasn’t Sooha, she was my soulmate but Sooha would always be more to me than the little witch would.
I walked with no destination… So why was I here?
“Oh… hello?” she said and I felt annoyed at seeing her. “Stay away from Sooha” I warned and she looked shocked but shrugged. “You should tell her that,” she said indifferently and I scoffed.
“What are you trying to say? You are nothing but mean to her!” I yelled and she looked confused… “I’ve never once been mean to her! I have every right to but I don’t” she said and I laughed.
“It's not my fault hyung loves her more than you, that I do her more than you,” I said and I saw her flinch a little until scoffing.
“Gonna pull a Heeseung and reject me too?” she asked and I got closer… I grabbed the collar of her uniform tightly as I made sure to look her in the eyes.
I felt the tingles you would at touching your soulmate… but I wouldn’t let that blind me.
“I’m rejecting you… you’re nothing but a servant of nature. And if you don’t stay away from Sooha or the rest of us will make your life a living hell” I said and her face contorted with fear… it was better this way… so why did I smell burning?
“y/n!” I heard as I let her go and I saw one of her roommates… I then looked back at y/n who was on the floor now shuffling away from me… I saw the burnt clothes and even some of her skin?
Did I lose control again?
“Hyung!” I heard as I saw Niki… he looked at what the room was.
It looked bad…
y/n was on the floor… she was crying and whimpering, burns hurt. I know that's because I’ve accidentally done it to people like I did with her.
“y/n are you–” “No… stay over there” she said and I saw Niki’s face fall, like he was heartbroken. I was frozen. I heard sobs and coaxing words… I couldn’t stop looking at my hands.
I was suddenly grabbed and taken away. I then felt something hit me in the face.
“You’re dead”

Deconstructing Mr Darcy
My favourite character in all Austen canon is Mr Darcy. Unfortunately, as soon as I say this, everybody is like
Tumblr media
Because when I say this people think of this…
Tumblr media
And this…
Tumblr media
But that’s not why he’s my favourite character.
There is this famous quote by P.D. James in which she argues that Austen's Emma is like a predecessor of the detective novel, in the way that she sprinkles clues as to what's really going on with Frank Churchill.
And ever since, I've been reading Pride and Prejudice differently, because of course she does something similar there too.
Specifically, Austen constructs this elaborate character puzzle with Mr Darcy at its centre. Every time he and Elizabeth clash, throughout the novel, one of the central conflicts sparks up: what is Darcy really like?
Elizabeth’s early interest in him is often interpreted as sexual tension/latent attraction. I’m not saying this isn’t the case (you can argue about this). But what is evident is that her intellectual interest in characters is roused by him. Because, well, he really presents her with a tricky puzzle.
1) The mysterious man at the ball
When Elizabeth and her sisters go to the Assembly Ball at Meryton, remember, they go there to ogle Mr Bingley. He is the rich, handsome bachelor they hope to dance with when they get there.
But then they actually arrive and it’s someone else who has everyone talking. Mr Darcy. He’s the tall, handsome stranger who turns out to be much, much richer than Mr Bingley, and who gets everyone excited.
Who will he dance with?
Well, nobody because he’s like way too important to deign to notice any of them. He stoops to acknowledge that Jane, literally the most beautiful girl in the county, is somewhat pretty. But her sister is totally beneath his notice.
With this twist upon a twist, the author invites Elizabeth and the reader to abandon their first suspicion that he’s the hero and to consider him a little absurd instead. And this is a comic novel. By that point we have met multiple absurd characters, so we know this is what is to be expected from this story.
2) The cracks
The narrator hints that Darcy enjoys a good gossip with his friends and spends his free time dissecting the many ways in which the local women don’t interest him. Again, absurd, remember? Elizabeth is among the women he judges harshly, but as he sees more and more of her this happens:
Tumblr media
So the reader is now invited to some irony which Elizabeth is not privileged to enjoy. But it’s all in service of the comedy, right? Because it’s more delicious for the reader to see the contrast of how much Elizabeth is wrong about what he thinks of her.
You, the reader, have a good chuckle with the author about this, don’t you? But while you’re laughing you’re MISSING A CLUE! And it’s right there: Elizabeth is wrong about Darcy. It’s lampshading the fact that she doesn’t really understand him at all.
3) The real deal
So then we get a little closer to Darcy. Elizabeth stays with him and his friends at Netherfield to nurse her sister. As Darcy continues to admire her, and as she continues to be oblivious, one evening he approaches her and this happens:
Tumblr media
Again Elizabeth is wrong about Darcy, but here Austen adds another clue:
Tumblr media
So… the guy who has the superpower of turning any normal situation awkward makes this super awkward situation… charming?
And then Austen adds some misdirection by immediately adding:
Tumblr media
And we’re focusing on the irony that this guy is more enchanted with her the more she rejects him. And we’re a little amazed at how arrogant this guy is that he doesn’t see how much he is disliked at this moment. Almost as self-important and oblivious as Mr Collins.
And so we don’t see that… he’s nice? And I mean, an arrogant, self-important arse, as Elizabeth thinks of him, wouldn’t be nice at this point. He’d be wounded. He’d make it awkward. Importantly, he’d make it awkward for her.
It’s hard to get out of a situation like this gracefully. But he can. He knows how. He has that ability.
And this works as a bit of foreshadowing too, of course. Dancing and courtship are pretty strongly linked in Austen (and culturally in that era) and so his acceptance of her rejection in this manner lampshades his character as a lover.
But there’s so much more. That time at Netherfield is so rich in character studies, I feel like someone could write several PhD theses on that section of the book alone.
My favourite is the one that happens when Darcy and Elizabeth literally talk about characters. Miss Bingley asserts that Darcy is perfect, has no flaws. Elizabeth is delighted: this is just what she thinks Darcy thinks of himself.
Darcy says: No, I’m plenty flawed, thanks.
Elizabeth is curious now. Go on, oh prideful one, enlighten us mere mortals!
Darcy explains that he’s resentful, that he doesn’t forget or forgive easily.
Elizabeth has to admit that that’s a non-ridiculous answer. She’s disappointed, a little, because what good is that to her, since she wanted to have a good laugh at this expense? But he predicted as much and at the beginning of this conversation challenged her on this to preempt her making a joke of the whole conversation.
He wants to continue to be serious and this happens:
Tumblr media
Again, Austen’s sleight of hand: when we first read this, it sounds more like Darcy is just a misanthrope who has a negative and pessimistic attitude towards people. That’s how Elizabeth hears it too.
But he tells us himself: that’s not what he means. Elizabeth (and the reader) is misunderstanding him. And he shows us, right away, by taking her jibe in good humour right then and there.
Multiple times, Elizabeth teases or attacks him, and he’s cheerful about it. He thinks it’s kind of funny. Bingley gets a shot or two in, and Darcy takes that on the chest too.
Austen manages to create this impression of him in the reader’s mind of a guy who is angry and prideful all the time, but when we review his actions, how often is this really true?
4) Darcy through the eyes of others
In many analyses, Elizabeth is blamed for being so easily taken in and so stubbornly mistaken in Darcy, but in all fairness, look at what she has to work with!
So much of what she learns about him is through other people, and so what she knows is filtered by their interests, skewed perspectives and compromised judgements. The fawning of Caroline Bingley and Mr Collins, the hatred of George Wickham, the deference of Mr Bingley, the lack of deference from Colonel Fitzwilliam, the way Charlotte views men, the way Jane always finds good things to say about anybody, her mother’s vulgar prejudice, all of it adds to a picture of absolute confusion. And the worst offender is Darcy himself, of course, because he stubbornly refuses to clarify anything about himself, partly because he can’t and partly because he just won’t.
Darcy’s stay in Hertfordshire culminates in this exchange, at the Netherfield Ball, between Darcy and Elizabeth:
Tumblr media
5) Mr Darcy in love
Darcy really is a hard nut to crack, and in large part it’s because he makes himself hard to crack. The baseline here is pretty bad but it gets so much worse the more he loves Elizabeth and the more he is determined to hide from her.
Before, he just doesn’t care what people think of him. But now, he does care and he desperately wants them not to know that he has, annoyingly and embarrassingly, fallen head over heels in love.
Austen strings us along in this confusion until the absolute shock that comes with his proposal. Even though we as readers always knew more than Elizabeth did, and even though both we the readers and Elizabeth had tonnes of evidence and clues about Darcy and his real character, this twist comes as a complete surprise.
And because we, the readers, and Elizabeth, the protagonist, are surprised, we don’t notice another important clue. Darcy is also shocked. Like, we’re all sitting in this scene, aghast, amazed, shocked. We all came to this point following a trail of wrong clues, misdirections, misunderstandings and mistaken assumptions.
But what does this tell us about Darcy? Other than what he finally reveals through his letter, we learn that the entire time he thought Elizabeth:
Knew what she was doing, flirting with and encouraging him
Understood his prevarication
Expected a proposal
The poor man doesn’t come out of this looking good, does he? It makes him look really arrogant, self-important and big-headed. And to an extent, well, it is.
But there’s also another, kinder, reading to all this: that he’s someone who overthinks things.
There’s the conversation in Netherfield with Bingley where he deprecates those who do things rapidly as if it were a virtue. We know from other parts of the novel that he’s a bookish (he prides himself in his library), intellectual (he admires those who read), “clever” (in the narrator’s own words) guy.
Used to responsibility, used to being relied on to guide and advise people, used to solving knotty problems, Darcy approached his problem (loving a girl who is in every way beneath him) in the same way. He deserves a large portion of the smackdown he receives—no argument from me here. It does him good, later, as we all know. But when we revisit the novel, these deeper dimensions of his character become more apparent whenever we come to this moment: that Darcy’s flaws are not just the obvious ones here (pride, arrogance, lack of manners) but also shades of other traits of his.
6) A mystery to the very end
At this point, Austen begins to clear the mist a little. Darcy gets such a blow with Elizabeth’s rejection that our heart does go out to him, and then the letter explains so much, you begin to feel like he’s been wronged with our harsh view of him. We’re brought into his home, and so, slowly, we are shown that, yes, he’s sort of quiet and taciturn, and maybe his people skills aren’t exactly up there, but he’s actually quite nice, at least willing to try to be outwardly more friendly, but in essence he’s a kind person and a responsible landowner. Elizabeth begins to see that he’s rather attractive.
The reader and Elizabeth begin to thaw towards him. And then Lydia runs away, All seems lost. Wickham has been such a wicked force in Darcy’s life, Elizabeth has already tried Darcy to the edge of what any reasonable man would put up with and Elizabeth’s family exposes herself in the worst possible way.
What I love is that Darcy’s true character is always, always most visible through his actions. This mirrors the whole point of the novel of course: that we should pay attention not to impressions, superficialities (words) but to what people really are, and what they actually do (actions). So, Darcy doesn’t say anything, in fact he swears everybody to silence. He just does. He saves Elizabeth’s family in the most warm-hearted, generous and forgiving way possible.
Anyway, I could write books on this subject just because of how much there is to say, and this is but the tip of the iceberg, but I’ll leave off here. I just wanted to explain why I love Mr Darcy, the character, and why you should too. Not as a literary romantic hero, not as a literary crush but as a really interesting, beautifully written, complex character in his own right.

Victoria’s legendary/mythical Pokémons.
Throughout her years of traveling and researching, Victoria had meet way to many legendaries/mythical pokemon for her to consider it to me normal, she stopped questioned it soon. Though she released most of them so they can go back to their natural habitat, some decided to stay…
Diancie
Tumblr media
"Diancie isn't a pushover, so don't you dare mess with it or else you'll regret it."
Moves: Diamond storm, Moonblast, Iron defense, Power gem.
Ability: Clear body
Victoria was just trying to take photos of some Carbinks so she could surprise professor Sycamore when she saw Diancie being chased by a group of pokemon hunters.
After saving it, Diancie refused to leave Victoria's side, scared that the hunters will come back. Victoria allow it to stick nearby until she can capture a photo of some Carbinks. But after that was finish and Victoria tried to leave, Diancie still won't leave Victoria.
After some time of being conflicted, Victoria asked to capture Diancie to kept it safe from other pokemon hunters. Diancie agreed and was happily caught by Victoria, though the girl did notice it bringing a weirdly familiar stone after it was caught. Let's just say the Carbinks photos are not the only thing that surprises professor Sycamore that day.
Diancie is a very nice and princess like to the rest of the pokemons, but that doesn't mean it's a pushover. Victoria had taught it how to toughen up and allow it to spam Diamond storm if it ever find itself in a situation where some shady people was forcing it to make diamonds.
Diancie can also talk with other people with its telepathy, making it a bridge between the NRC students and pokemon after Victoria relaxed and began to have it out more often.
Zamazenta
Tumblr media
"Thank you for helping me guard Ramshackle, Zamazenta. Now come here so I can brush your hair."
Moves: Iron head (Behemoth bash), Focus blast, Ice fang, Protect.
Ability: Dauntless Shield.
When chairman Rose release Eternatus much to Victoria's unamusement, Zamazenta along with its partner Zacian helped her and Hop stop it before leaving. Victoria thought everything was done until two weird guys with weird hair came in and ruin everything (seriously why do people always think it's ok to mess with legendaries).
After defeating a rampaging Zacian, Victoria was surprised that Zamazenta challenged her because usually the other legendaries only challenged her so she can borrow their power to fix something, but the issue has already fixed, does this means that it challenged her because it wants her to be its trainer? After Hop capture Zacian, Victoria decided to keep Zamazenta with her.
A gentle old soul that watches over her pokemons like a protector, Zamazenta will often herd Victoria's pokemons to their respective enclosure after dark, Victoria found it's oddly adorable with the way it nudges her Foongus with its nose back to its safe spot. Victoria will still pamper it even when it's a legendary pokemon, its favorite thing to do is have Victoria brush its very long fur.
It tolerates Crewel with his dog obsession.
Shaymin
Tumblr media
"Shaymin? SHAYMIN!? WHERE ARE YOU?! NOT AGAIN!!"
Moves: Air slash, Seed flare, Dazzling gleam, Tail wind.
Ability: Natural Cure (land forme), Serene Grace (sky forme)
It all happened when Victoria was at a Gracidea meadow to study and collect them to sent back to her parents when she met a land form Shaymin who didn't follow the other Shaymins who are in their sky form that are migrating elsewhere.
She thought something was wrong with the pokemon so she bought it to nurse Joy to check it, thankfully it isn't hurt and it turns out that Shaymin just doesn't want to go with its herd anymore. The Shaymin lingers with Victoria instead and after a while, she caught it.
Shaymin is a cunning one despite its petite and innocent looks, it loves playing small pranks on the pokemon around it and even the trainer herself, but it usually apologize by nuzzling the people it teases.
Shaymin sometimes loves to escape from its home to explore nearby areas, thinking that Victoria could find it later on but forgetting that its small land form makes it hard to look for it, not to mention its green fur that matches the grass makes it even harder to look for.
Victoria swore Shaymin will give her gray hair before any of the end of the world scenarios does.
Ogerpon (female)
spoiler for the teal mask DLC so beware.
Tumblr media
"I'm not sure that I can be better than your last partner, but I promise I will do my best to take care of you."
Moves: Ivy cudgel, Spikey shield, Superpower, Rock tomb.
Ability: Defiant (Teal Mask), Water Absorb (Wellspring Mask), Mold Breaker (Hearthflame Mask), Sturdy (Cornerstone Mask)
Befriending it in Kitakami village, Victoria found its story very sad. What do you mean its old partner was not only taken away by the Loyal Three (or Lousy three now that Carmine force her to say), but the village also isolate it because of a misunderstanding.
After getting back Ogerpon's three mask, Victoria was surprised when Kieran challenged her for Ogerpon's ownership. She tried to talk some sense into the boy, saying that Ogerpon belonged to no one and that she can choose who her trainer is, but Kieran doesn't listen, so with no choice, Victoria battled him for Ogerpon's freedom.
She's even more surprise when after she won, Ogerpon chose her to be its trainer. Although she felt quite guilty for Kieran, she can't take back her words of letting Ogerpon chose its own trainer so she caught it (with a friend ball of course).
The embodiment of a sunshine child, Ogerpon is always happy to be around people, she tries her best to cheer them up whenever they're sad. But she will also not hesitate to fight if her friends and trainers are hurt, she lost someone she cared before, she will not lose them again. Very powerful in battle with her intelligence and flexibility, Victoria utilized the masks she had a lot, Victoria also make sure to clean the masks frequently.
Miraidon
Minor pokemon violet spoiler.
Tumblr media
"WAIT NO, MIRAIDON! BAD DRAGON! THE SANDWHICH ISN'T FINISHED-"
Moves: Electro drift, Parabolic charge, Draco meteor, Charge.
Ability: Hadron engine.
Saving it on the shore of a beach in Paldea with a sandwhich, Victoria has now officially adopt a dragon motorcycle-
After the whole ordeal with professor Turo, Victoria kept Miraidon as a promise to take care of it to the AI professor. Now Miraidon is her main ride pokemon, it can run fast, run on water, climb mountains, fly- so Victoria pampers it alot, to the point where it becomes kinda spoil.
Unfortunately, Miraidon is quite a glutton, especially for sandwiches, it sometimes gets impatient and snatches the unfinished sandwhich that Victoria is making for it, making the trainer had to do a round tug of war to get the sandwhich back.
Because Victoria doesn't travel much anymore when she got to Twisted wonderland, Miraidon will be usually seen lazing around and sun bathe alone outside of Ramshackle, sometimes it will hang out with the other pokemon, but it prefers to be by itself most of the time.
Doesn't really like fighting and engaging in combat so it prefers to stay on the side, but if it is put in a dead end or saw that its trainer got hurt, p r a y.
Still very affectionate towards people, it will lick the people it likes and covered them with its spit. Gross, but adorable.
Meloetta
Tumblr media
"Thank you for calming the pokemon down in these times, Meloetta."
Moves: Relic song, Close combat, Psyshock, Disarming voice.
Ability: Serene Grace.
While Victoria was traveling, she found a Meloetta getting captured by shady people, it was struggling so she saved it right away.
Victoria is aware of the power that Meloetta hold and understand why it was being hunted, so after she treated its wounds, she decided to contact some pokemon rangers to retrieve it to safety.
The pokemon ranger told her to head to their base but it's quite a long way, so for a while, Victoria and Meloetta travel together. Meloetta can sense the stress that Victoria has while dealing with team Plasma at the time, so it would sing to calm her down.
When they got to the pokemon ranger's base, Meloetta is completely attached to Victoria. The ranger that had call her told her that maybe she should kept it safe instead because of how attached Meloetta is to her during their journey.
Like Diancie, Meloetta is trained to protect itself by Victoria as she doesn't want to restrict its freedom, especially when it likes to sing to people and pokemon that are in distress to calm them down.
When Victoria got transported to Twisted wonderland, she and her pokemon became more stressed in this new environment, so Meloetta took the task of relaxing them with its song.
Is often seen with Victoria's Primarina having a duet, the two of them seem to get along well.
Meloetta doesn't resort to fighting when in a conflict, so it would usually sing to calm the oppnent down or run away by turning invisible.

Because Your Kiss (It's On My List)
Hi friends! Here's my contribution to day three of @steddie-week! The prompts I used are discover, first kiss, and Kiss On My List by Hall & Oates. I enjoyed getting to write something pure and innocent - there's nothing like naive Eddie. You can read it down below or over on AO3! Here's hoping you enjoy!
There’s something to be said about teenage stupidity, Eddie obviously knows that as he approaches the front door of a known enemy’s house. After years of being on the outside, happily so until recently, suddenly getting invited to a cool kid party sets off so many warning bells in Eddie’s head that his ears are ringing… loudly. All of his protective mechanisms are in place and working, yet Eddie is walking into a live and waiting to spring trap.
To truly understand what he means, Eddie’s got a few things to clear up first.
In all honesty, Eddie can only trace this new bout of insanity to one thing, or well, person. Like most boys of the teenage persuasion, Eddie has a crush. Though, it’s not just any crush. Eddie’s heart has decided that the up and coming freshman king of Hawkins is the only person it’ll settle for.
The fateful day takes place back in September. They were a few days into the school year when Eddie first sees him. Unlike the rest of his freshman counterparts, Steve Harrington is already starting to mature. The boyish charm of being a kid is morphing into something stunning and beautiful, yet manly and rugged all the same. At least, that’s what Eddie feels in his chest seconds before they collide.
It’s like something out of a movie, the exchange that follows. Both Eddie and Steve apologize, stumbling over words and laughing at the joint attempts to speak at the same time. To the rest of the world it’s just a moment in time, one that blinks passed without anyone else taking notice. To Eddie, the interaction is life changing.
From then on, no matter how hard Eddie fights or tries to change the truth, his mind is stuck on Steve Harrington. Not only is Eddie obsessive about it, he’s pretty damn obvious in that fixation, too. It’s not his fault – first crushes are hard and Steve is the sort of boy worth fawning over to the millionth degree. All of the girls in his class and the ones above and below him agree with Eddie. And though it’s frustrating to hear others talk about him, Eddie can’t ever not nod along with what they’re saying.
So, Eddie has a little trouble containing his feelings. That’s okay in most situations but high school is brutal, and made harder still by jocks that are always looking for something to humiliate anyone and everyone with. Secrets are currency in a world where power is king.
Eddie, as it turns out, is an easy target. His crush is out there beyond Eddie’s control and they often make fun of both Eddie and Steve for it. Unlike Eddie, who’s face heats up as embarrassment takes over, Steve doesn’t even blink. He doesn’t shrug the guys off or make sick jokes. It’s almost like Steve likes hearing all the heckling directed towards them. Or, he’s just a brick wall that’s not effected by anything at all. Tommy’s words roll off of him effortlessly.
Whatever the case truly is, Eddie and Steve are often thrust into situations together that otherwise would never happen. Eddie is always too nervous to take advantage of his bully’s unknowing favor. Instead of  making the most of those stolen moments, Eddie slams headphones over his ears to ignore Steve completely. Unfortunately, it’s his only move and Eddie’s sticking to it.
The situation is sticky and Eddie is no closer to understanding it than he’s been since the heartache started so many months ago. That’s why he finds himself outside of Carol’s fancy house, waiting for the door to open upon the future humiliation waiting for him. He’s inviting it, even. Steve Harrington, at this very moment, still seems worth it.
It only takes Eddie a few minutes to realize his gut feeling is absolutely on point once he’s inside and surrounded on all sides. His usual group of tormentors are talking behind their hands, the nefarious quiet of the rude gesture drawing more attention to them, not less like they’re expecting. And though it’s obviously a party, everyone’s direct attention is in the kitchen where Eddie is led right away. Everything is still screaming danger, yet Eddie still stays. He’s eager to be there, even.
His reason to be so eventually walks in through the back door, instantly making Eddie’s previous anxiety worth it. The second Steve appears, all the whispering stops and eyes shift back and forth between Eddie and their newest arrival. Tommy is the first to grin menacingly and start the game.
“Let’s play seven minutes in heaven,” Tommy says, his long arm already reaching to open the pantry door. Eddie doesn’t even need to hear them shout his name - he’s already walking into the dark space before the chanting begins. This is the reason he’s here. It’s nice to finally understand.
The finality of the door slamming shut on him is jarring as Eddie moves to the farthest part of the pantry’s open space. Whoever they send in (though it’s extremely obvious exactly who’s going to be taking up space with him) is going to be practically pressed up against the door. During the summer, Eddie’s growth spurt hit and he’s actually coming into his own. Wide shoulders take up space Eddie didn’t occupy before. He’ll give Steve a run for his money. Him and his new height will leave a lasting memory.
His thoughts are interrupted by the door opening a minute or two later, it’s creaking flashes light into the previously dark pantry and Eddie is blind. He blinks to reorient himself and is met with a most beautiful sight. The single most beautiful sight, even. Steve stands there, a smirk on his face.
“You realize they’re doing this on purpose, right? They’re making fun of you as we speak.” Steve speaks softly, despite the words being slightly scathing. He is quick to close the door, to leave the rest of the world behind. It’s almost enough to make Steve’s uttered truth a little more palatable. Though, humiliation still washes over Eddie and he fails to reply
The silence invites Steve further into the pantry, however. He leans against the door now, further proving they’re locked together regardless of his previous warning. Eddie expects him to slide down to the floor, to keep lots of space between them in hopes of holding Eddie’s crush at arm’s distance. It has to be a weird, almost awkward thing to be stuck in a room with the boy who’s feelings have been clear and upfront for a long time. Eddie isn’t going to blame Steve for a little awkwardness – the situation absolutely calls for it.
Yet, Steve does none of those things.
Instead, Steve acts the opposite of all Eddie’s expectations. He’s in Eddie’s bubble within seconds, their chests practically butted up against each other. His hands, which are as big as Eddie always thought they’d be, grab both shoulders and grip them hard, long fingers probably leaving bruises in their wake.
All Eddie’s brain registers is the touch but Steve is speaking, so he struggles to grasp onto the words ringing in his ears, to actually pay attention instead of oddly daydreaming about things never meant to happen.
Eddie is abundantly happy that he eventually tunes back in – Steve is talking about how dumb his friends are, how he’s tired of how they use other’s feelings to gain advantage and manipulate. If only Eddie remembered to bring some sort of recording device.
Then, Steve’s grip tightens on Eddie’s arms as he speaks a magical, yet all to unbelievable phrase. “Let’s show them. Make each of those assholes feel really stupid when they realize their plan backfire right in their faces.” Before Eddie can comprehend the words, Steve is leaning in and Eddie’s heart is about to jump out of his chest. They’re about to kiss. Steve Harrington is going to take Eddie’s very first kiss. The one known and remembered for the rest of all time.
Against his better judgement, Eddie stops Steve’s momentum.
“Steve, wait,” Eddie says, cursing his rationality as Steve draws back ever so slightly. In an attempt to keep him near, Eddie’s hands scramble to grip at Steve’s yellow polo. Now, Eddie is certain the shirt will forever be his favorite.
 “I’ve never –“
The soft press of fingers against Eddie’s lips stops the confession of this being his first kiss just behind Eddie’s teeth – the gesture stifles his embarrassment, too. The obvious truth doesn’t need to be said as Steve looks at him with knowing eyes. And as he lowers his face to try and kiss Eddie again, Steve whispers his own confession – “me either.”
In the midst of that revelation, Eddie finally lets nature have its way. Their lips meet… finally.
Kissing Steve Harrington is nothing like Eddie expects. It’s a revelation to realize that Steve is just as inexperienced as Eddie is – a novice, unlike the rest of those assholes waiting for them just outside the door. They bump noses for a second until Eddie tilts his head slightly. In the new position, all bets are off. Eddie presses in to take and receive and learn everything there is to know about Steve’s lips – hell, Eddie hopes to learn more about the rest of him, too.
Eventually tongues come into play and Eddie is beyond understanding what in the hell is actually going on. Steve is real under his hands but Eddie’s mind can’t comprehend the idea of genuinely getting to experience a good moment in time. The rarity of such occurrences slightly colors the situation, though not enough for Eddie not to enjoy himself.
In fact, he pulls away with the silliest smile just seconds before the door is open and several eager faces are staring at them. For once, Eddie doesn’t feel like a squished bug under a microscope. Whatever karmic madness just went on is something Eddie knows he’ll never forget. Those seven minutes are the best of his life and will tide him over for years to come. He’ll wish upon stars, hoping for the chance again
Still hazy and stuck in the high of Steve Harrington’s magic kisses, Eddie ignores everyone who’s looking at him expectantly, they won’t get their details this time. He refuses to be the science experiment when his pants are tented and the best masturbatory material to date has just fallen into Eddie’s lap. He’s unwilling to drop the very obvious butter ball thrown to him and linger amongst a crowd waiting to tear him apart over matters of the heart. Thankfully, he’s got much better things to do.
Eddie’s just about our the door when a now familiar hand stops him from leaving. “You can’t just run off without this,” Steve says, pushing a folded up piece of paper into Eddie’s fist. “I’ve got Friday’s off until swim season starts. Don’t forget.” The words are said with a cheeky wink before Steve disappears as quickly and stealthily as he came.
Still unwilling to share his good fortune with anyone but himself, Eddie waits until he’s back home to open up the folded notebook paper. Though, he keeps it in his hand as he walks back to the trailer park. By the time he gets there, Wayne is already gone for work, so Eddie is truly alone. There’s no one there to ask questions or rob him of the magic. He can flush and stutter with happiness in the peace of his bedroom. It’s the perfect setting for whatever’s waiting for him on that folded up piece of paper.
Later, with his door shut up tight, Eddie sits on the bed and desperately undoes the note. His fingers tremble and slip as it’s unfolded and then straightened out over the bend of his knee until no wrinkles remain. Eddie gulps in a breath, then takes the plunge.
A soft sigh eventually leaves his lips.
Forever, it seems, is sloppily written out before him.

Okay, hold up. I was thinking about how similar I find Meg and Raoul in the ALWverse. Both are brave, sweet, inquisitive, and over all they want Christine safe. They even look a little alike in a lot of productions, with hair often being the same sort of blondish color.
What if....drumroll...they're uncle and niece? What if Madame Giry and Phillippe fell passionately in love in their youth? What if Madame Giry...is La Sorelli in the ALW verse?
Shut up and lemme think this through.
When Sorelli finds out she's pregnant, she's disillusioned by Phillipe's reaction. He insists she marry the first decent single man he can find, and settles on his family's accountant, Jules Giry. He's a kind but older man, and dies a few years into the marriage.
Now I need to plan a fic where I can bring the whole crew together.
Maybe Christine and Raoul move to the de Chagny estate after leaving the Phantom's lair. Philippe is infuriated by their elopement, but can't find it in him to turn his back completely on his baby brother.
Christine struggles to fit in under his cold dismissive eye and the haughty society around her. What she can't know is that Philippe isn't quite as heartless as you'd imagine. When he sees this young woman from the opera house, he can’t help but think of his own daughter just a few years younger. A daughter he's never known outside slipping in late to a show and seeing her lead her line in the corps de ballet.
He may also envy his brother his willingness to marry the woman he loved despite what it might mean for the family name.
Madame Giry learns when to use their situation to her advantage. When the Phantom demands an increase in his salary, she persuades Philippe to at least convince his brother to act as the opera's new patron, if he himself is still too cowardly to regularly attend like he used to.
So when the opera house closes in the wake of the Don Juan disaster, Madame Giry turns to him again. His daughter is now out of a job. While he may be too much of a hypocrite to ever acknowledge her as his, surely he doesn't want her to suffer the fate many attractive young unemployed girls in her position do.
To her surprise, he invites them into his home. Being around Christine and hearing her reminisce fondly about her best friend Meg suddenly makes him determined to get to know his daughter as much as he can without telling her the truth -- Madame Giry is right in that he's too afraid to face that.
So mother and daughter show up with whom they describe as a composer who wants to open a new dance school and theater with the Girys. He goes only by the name of Erik. He's a brilliant but aloof man, probably because what looks like a stroke or some such injury. One half of his face the skin seems pulled in too taught, almost paralyzed. It's almost as if the skin isn't real, instead a mask to try making him look like anyone.
(Sorelli was a dancer in a particular traveling carnival when she was a young woman, and was so incensed by the cruelty around her that she left, determined to find a serious career for herself on the stage -- but not before releasing that poor boy from his cage).
This Erik stares too much at the new Viscountess de Chagny. Yet he's also surprisingly insecure when some of the aristocratic men in their society begin taking notice of Meg. The pretty, peppy dancer hasn't the first clue how to behave properly in society, and that there are men ready to take advantage. Philippe also notices and struggles not to be too protective.
So what happens when Raoul notices for the first time how much Meg resembles his sister Roberte when they're standing next to each other? What of Christine's terrified conviction about who this Erik really is? What of Erik yearning to watch over her once more, his beautiful angel, his life -- dammit, must this damn Dauphin So-and-So keep looking at Meg like she's steak tartare?
And what of that despite the years that have passed and the bitterness and guilt between them, there may still lie a deep love between Philippe and La Sorelli?
A Little Night Music meets Phantom, essentially.

I’m not the anon but I agreed with some things they said, and I’m not afraid of stereotyping him at all, I think that’s a pretty big assumption to make for why people perceive his character as simply boyish, not liking to feel vulnerable, and so on. Maybe stoic is too strong of a word, sure, but what’s on the screen is what’s on the screen, I think the whole point was just that people’s perceptions have nothing to do with blending Noah and Will. It’s clearly due to something the actor brings intentionally to Will that is not his own personality, that low, quiet seriousness. And we’ve seen Will in some pretty tough spots. It makes sense he’d be sensitive in those situations, you know? He’s very special of course but he’s also just a guy
Also, being sensitive or a crier or soft isn’t bad yucky girl coding it’s literally just not something only girls do! It’s uncomfortable to see someone express traditionally feminine traits and have people go “yes, that’s a girl thing.” It’s what his bullies did. I think that’s the point: that we can appreciate these things about Will without constantly obsessing over his Girl role. He’s just Will
you've clarified things I could not comprehend in the og post so cheers tbh.
moving on:
It’s uncomfortable to see someone express traditionally feminine traits and have people go “yes, that’s a girl thing.”
and you just called them traditionally feminine traits. that's literally the whole thing. I am not the one using "girl" in replace of "feminine", that was op anon, and others minimising will's narrative, and I think saying "a girl thing" is missing the point of analysing something as feminine. I can't speak for anybody else, I don't know what you or op anon have seen, but when I ever discuss what was watered down to "girl coding", it's about the fact will is a male character who happens to have been written to express traditionally feminine traits more than other boys/men around him, and also the tropes his story falls under.
it's not a bad or weird thing to point out. noticing feminine traits is most definitely not my entire personality, which it feels like you're implying is for some people. I find it genuinely fucking cool they wrote a male character to follow multiple tropes and narratives usually given to female characters in the horror genre. it's unique and fresh and expressing enjoyment over that isn't taking away from will being a boy.
but he also isn't just a standard boy, btw. his visible difference to everybody else is kind of a big - and important - part of his story. and no, that's not me being wilfully ignorant to what you're saying - I fully understood you, I am just saying that while I agree he isn't overly effeminate or flamboyant atm, he is also not "just a guy".
I think you're making an assumption off my wording - which I get because it was posted impulsively - but holy hell that was definitely not the correlation. you agreeing with op anon but also being fine to stereotype him doesn't make any opinion here special, I mean great to hear you have no problem stereotyping him! but I wasn't making a generalisation. the will and noah criticism is often about noah's physique affecting how people perceive will post-st4, when even that is exaggerated.
people being scared to stereotype will IS a problem in the fandom, even if not related to that specific post, and I brought it up because it was similar language. but also, this is the first I'm hearing the word "boyish" used for will so consistently. what I usually see is people going to the total opposite end of the spectrum of how we know him in the show and making him tough, commandeering or stoic, instead of embracing his softness; and never what's happened here today, which is people insisting that others are 'making him girly when he is in fact boyish' - that's news to me!
from what I've seen, if you explore his canon gender nonconformity, it's too feminising and there's hesitance, even if it's the simplest thing. in fact, guaranteed someone reading me even mentioning gnc in the sentence previous just flinched because it's a touchy or tired subject. but I don't see that issue with mike in headcanons/fics/art, ever, which is what has led me to believe over time that people have an issue/fear with stereotyping will. and that has to come from somewhere in his visual/narrative design because where else could you get it from unless you can recognise the writer's intentions?
I know I've held back from posting more headcanons bc I've been worried people will assume things of me because they project assumptions, when I always take his gnc qualities, and potential, seriously.
also, like I mentioned above, nowhere did you touch on the fact will's narrative is consistent with that of female horror characters (and that's not a bad thing), which is what the people I've seen who may discuss any "girl coding" are often referring to, because it's relevant and unique, and worthy of analysing.
I'm linking this post that explains it more really well, but I know you'll either find it interesting bc you've never seen it before, or roll your eyes bc you already have issue with it; but I can't express more how I'm coming from a genuinely fascinated, excited and well meaning place whenever I might discuss will's narrative having anything to do with something traditionally feminine (which is just a harmless word that happens to have the prefix 'fem').
what’s on the screen is what’s on the screen low, quiet seriousness
what's on screen is being reserved, not stoicism. it's will going through tough times, and - in your eyes - involuntarily expressing emotion when he usually wouldn't......? well all I can recommend for you here is rewatching the show. honestly.
will is a lively, funny, expressive character. not near the same level as noah, but I struggled to understand the relevance in pointing out will's quiet seriousness and noah. are being loud and extroverted not traditionally more masc traits in characters than quietness and being reserved? would that not mean will's expressiveness is what makes him more boyish than his passiveness?
I feel as though the issue being expressed here is feeling importance in will being male and being gay, and so people deeming will's traits feminine = he falls under the 'girl' in other's tendencies to make things a boy/girl dynamic, hence putting such an emphasis on "will is just a boy!!". and I hear you, but being afraid to explore will's story because of optics in relation to his love interest does a disservice to his journey.
I have three (rhetorical, please) questions for that:
a) do you understand that will's story goes beyond his relationship with mike, and that sometimes when people are analysing will's narrative, they aren't even keeping mike in mind? aka there's no intentional placing of will in a feminine role in their dynamic?
b) do you also vocally criticise when people do the same as they may do to will, to mike?
c) do you acknowledge that ST is an 80s show, not set in modern day, and will is from generation x - where we happen to have gotten a lot of those 'stereotypes' from, and it may not be so bizarre to consider he grows up to be similar to the middle aged (visible!) gay men you may know today? or can you see how playing with his gender nonconformity or any stereotypical progression can be different to if he was, say, a 2024 gay high schooler in another netflix original, where it's then a tired writing decision?
I think that’s the point: that we can appreciate these things about Will without [...]
we are. we are appreciating will for who he is, and some of "these things" happen to include him being given roles in the narrative that are often given to female characters, and that's not making anything 'binary'. it's a part of the conversation of will byers. will is not the character who experiences girly issues in the fandom.
He’s just Will
exactly! and "just will" is not your regular male character, and I love that about him. but nowhere does that imply people don't treat him as a boy??
I absolutely know I've repeated myself a lot in this post, but there's a lot of jumping around so, eh.

KBH RANDOM RANT
I'M BACK... at least I try to post more often. Streams will also come more regularly (surely...).
I'm slowly getting back to work so my time is still very limited. I thought this was a good time to bring back my random rants about fandoms since I just revisited an old classic from my childhood.
Tumblr media
YEP we're talking about Kim Possible one of the most ludicrous fictional universes I've ever seen... In a good way!
First up: This show is FUDGING 22 YEARS OLD THIS YEAR... I'm really getting old...
The funny part about that is it was made during the peak of the 2000s... and you really notice that. The language that most teenagers use in this show is so stereotypical for that time it feels so nostalgic even watching it XD
Anyway, let's get the obvious out of the way. I know this is supposed to be a kids cartoon and I know that I'm an adult man but that doesn't stop me from watching it.
So, why is this show so great?
Good question! Its primary charm probably comes from its simple comedic attitude of telling a story.
The characters are so ridiculous that you should never be able to take this show seriously simply because most of their actions or the situations around them don't even make sense. This show just requires you to take in its vibe and go with the flow. I mean... a teenager knowing 16 forms of Kung Fu and saving the world on any given occasion is nothing that can possibly make sense. Don't forget: "Anything's possible for a Possible!"
Let's get into the characters:
Tumblr media
Kim is your basic teenage girl, and she's here to save the world. You can't stop her 'cause...
Okay I'll stop xD
Apart from her being an ass-kicking girl boss, her main character traits are kinda the things you expect from a main character. She saves the world out of sheer will to stick to her morals. In short: she wants to help people. That obviously doesn't always work out and she sometimes ends up judging people by what they are instead of who they are. On top of that, she gets jealous easily.
BUT she is brave, smart, and makes usually good choices in the heat of the moment (except when it comes to love xD), and is otherwise very mature for her age.
Well... the opening song didn't lie. She really is your basic teenage girl. That doesn't mean she isn't cool xD
Tumblr media
Well, obviously I can't end it without talking about the man and his very smart and hungry naked little friend.
What makes this show so funny is well... its ability to deliver comedy simply by a character existing and Ron Stoppable plays a big part in that.
He is pretty much a normal guy who just happens to be Kim's childhood friend and later somehow steals her heart xD
He is an absolute doofus. He is silly and rarely takes anything seriously. He is also lazy and loves his favorite junk food joint Bueno Nacho.
Despite all that he still cares for his friends, his naked mole rat Rufus, and usually learns a very important lesson after an episode.
He accompanies Kim on pretty much every mission and is usually more of a hindrance than a help. Despite all that Kim still loves him in her own way. And he also saves the day a couple of times, so it's not like he is a complete slob.
Rufus is just the cherry on top. Both of these guys are hilarious and I was honestly surprised by how much I laughed watching this show.
Tumblr media
I could go on and on but I'm gonna try to finish up this post here before it gets too long xD
Even though every episode has kind of a similar structure, it never gets boring. The villains, the side characters... all of them add something very unique to the table. You just throw some characters together and boom the story kind of writes itself XD
Season 4 was my absolute favorite part of the show since guess what ... that was when Kim and Ron started dating and BOY DO THEY MAKE A CUTE COUPLE.
Ahem... anyways. I do not regret watching all 87 episodes in the last 2-3 weeks. If you're looking for a comfortable. goofy and funny way to escape reality for a moment I can only recommend this old classic.

The funny psychological horror circus show has a fucking death grip on me, so it’S OC TIME BOIIIIII!!!
Tumblr media
I made a whole ramble/shitpost about her earlier, but basically she’s a sweet slime girl with an inferiority complex and imposter syndrome.
Prior to entering the digital circus, Squishica was a 32 year old Intensivist at an ICU. She was confident and could be intimidating, but she treated each of her patients with kindness and warmth. She was very close with her staff members, they were like family to her as far as she was concerned, and she was fiercely protective of them all.
Despite always appearing strong and confident though, deep down Squishica struggled with feelings of inadequacy. Despite the praise and admiration she received, Squishica never felt like she deserved any of it. To her, there was ALWAYS something she could’ve done better, something that she could’ve done differently. She felt like a fraud because everyone treated her like she was perfect, but she wasn’t and it made her feel like she was deceiving everyone. She tried to combat this by always going above and beyond in her work, believing that she would only be worthy of praise if she could truly be perfect. Squish never allowed these insecurities and feelings to show, and successfully maintained the facade of a strong and confident doctor.
Upon entering the Digital Circus however, she no longer remembers her past life. Finally allowing for her “real” self, the goopy and anxious mess she always hid from everyone, to be on full display. Hence why I specifically made her slime lol
Squishica is kind and sweet to everyone, and she goes out of her way to help wherever she can but it’s often accompanied by self depreciating comments about how she’s “sorry for being a bother” or she “knows that she could’ve done better”. Poor thing just no self esteem whatsoever, but still wants to be helpful.
However when some kind of medical emergency happens, IE someone starts abstracting, she does a full 180 personality wise. All these thoughts, terminology, and feelings from her time as an ICU doctor come crashing over her. She doesn’t understand what any of it is, but suddenly she feels so calm and sure of herself, like she’s done this before and knows with certainty what needs to be done. She quite LITERALLY hardens up, and suddenly she’s the strong and commanding ICU doctor she was as a human. She quickly takes control of the situation, and immediately gets to work talking her “patient” down from the edge. She’s cool and composed, but kind and gentle as she slowly helps her “patient” stabilize. As she’s doing this, she’s COMPLETELY oblivious to the stunned awe of the rest of the crew as they watch her save someone from something they had only ever known to be impossible to come back from, all she’s focused on is her “patient” in front of her.
It’s only when her “patient” is somewhat stabilized that Squish notices everyone staring at her. Instead of commenting however, she starts barking orders at everyone like “Ragatha and Gangle, go make sure we have a hospital bed prepared for (blank); I want them admitted to the hospital for continued surveillance until further notice. Jax and Kinger, assist (blank) back to their room and help get them situated in bed prior to admission; but go slowly, we can’t risk exacerbating their condition by moving too quickly! Zooble, while (blank) is getting settled I want bloodwork done for their thyroid, liver, and kidney function. I’m most concerned about their thyroid function right now, so if the hormone levels are off, ping Dr. Drayden in endocrinology STAT! Pomni, I need a full set of vitals on (blank); please send those to me as soon as you’ve obtained them and start work on documentation a full recount of everything that happened. I will need that recount of the event to fill out necessary paperwork for the hospital. Caine, (blank) is in fragile condition right now and they could easily nosedive again; I need you to accompany (blank) back to their bed and keep watch over them as they’re being admitted. If the patient shows ANY signs of possible relapse, call a code blue IMMEDIATELY!”
She speaks with such authority and confidence, no one even stops to question her; instead everyone starts scurrying around and following her orders. It’s only when Zooble pauses for a moment while trying to locate needles and is like “Wait…We don’t even HAVE blood, do we??” That everyone recognizes what they’re doing and stops. Except for Kinger,Jax, and Caine because (blank) really did need to be taken back to their room and couldn’t be left alone.
Upon being confronted about what the heck just happened, Squish finally snaps out of it and softens back into her soft goopy self. She timidly explains that she has no clue what came over her or how she even knew any of what she was saying or doing, but it was like she somehow instinctively knew what to do.
Ragatha points out that Squish looked and sounded like a real doctor and Pomni chimes in that Squish might’ve been a doctor before coming here, to which everyone agrees is the likely scenario given how easily she handled everything. Squish on the other hand nearly melts into a puddle insisting there’s no way that could possibly be true, she’s so passive and weak! How could SHE have all people have been a doctor?? It’s just not possible!
Nevertheless she’s now the unofficial “doctor” of the circus, despite her protests that wouldn’t be able to do it, her old instincts have kicked in several times since then and each time it happens she’s just a LITTLE more convinced that maybe, JUST maybe, she really WAS a doctor and that she CAN do this.
She often gets called “Doc” or “Dr. Squish” lol.
Here are some bonus doodles for your amusement.

sry to bitch in your inbox abt this but im so glad you pointed out how so many modern enstarries Dont read the stories and base everything off fandom perception.. i saw these users joking about which character would say slurs and someone was ADAMANT rinne would and tho i knew it before it Really struck me then
a) none of them have ever engaged with this text in any meaningful way, ESPECIALLY not the first games' stories, because surprise! characters in es! did Canonically use slurs! and back then Nobody Liked It. we didnt joke about it. most people i know completely stopped paying attention to the characters who did until they apologized. (tho ofc its more a problem w the writing than the characters, but still. we were young. we had the spirit.)
b) people really like using rinne as a punching bag because they dont read the stories and know literally nothing about him except funny drunk drugs gamble man "fuckboy" who harasses niki and the other bees and its. infuriating.
i dont understand how anyone can claim to like a media without ever properly engaging with it, i dont understand how people have fun misunderstanding characters so drastically, and i also think joking about slurs has gotten wayyy too normalized where people feel comfortable saying these things about these characters they allegedly like. and characters like rinne (with a constructed mask of obnoxiousness and such) are the perfect target for these people. which SUCKS. all of it sucks.
NEVER BE SORRY!!!! i hope this is alright to post i thought your ask was good and insightful and i'll add onto it a little bit with my own thoughts (heart emoji)
yeah um ! was definitely a ride. i wouldnt recommend it to everyone but at least we have hindsight and things like slurs and general offensive terms/behaviors can be warned for, so that much is nice. i remember being really upset about a few of these, and then getting back into enstars earlier this year and reading a few of the more current stories + !! stories i was happy to see that the writing has developed CONSIDERABLY in terms of this especially after beasts. something ive noticed a lot of newer fans do (referencing my previous post irt the feeling morally superior) is that if you like a specific character for whatever reason youre actually a horrible person because that character said something awful once. of course youre allowed to dislike characters for whatever reason but dont tell other people they should perish because they like them (as if liking them means you implicitly agree with said views, more often than not One line in a miriad of stories that you might not even have read). but like you said, characters making ignorant comments (an unfortunate occurrence, although rare, it still happens) is not a reflection of 2d pixels on a screen but rather a team of writers..... idk. its a complicated situation. i see both sides and i think people are justified in liking or disliking but this is a game about idol boys (and girl) got dam
yeah i hate how people treat rinne a lot. like because characters like him and eichi are villains that means everything that they do or say is, at worst, a straight, physical threat to everyone around them, or at best, an annoyance that can make the fandom feel justified in making them the butt of reoccurring jokes. idk what else to say about him that i havent said already but its also 3 am now and i SAID i was gonna go to sleep an hour ago but i think i might just be a filthy liar
ALSO its probably because enstars is long, there's a lot to read and although tl's arent necessarily hard to come by you actively have to seek them out. again i understand how this might be a nuisance but instead of sitting down and listening to summaries or analysis ive noticed that a lot of short form consumption content lends itself to people just. posting the most reactive interpretations, and people playing a game of telephone with said information until a lot of the fandom has come to accept this misinformation as true. LIKE SOMEONE ON TIKTOK SAYING HAJIME AND WATARU WERE RELATED? IDEK IF THAT WAS A JOKE OR NOT? and yeah the use of slurs is like ridiculously normalized now im not one to say whether people can or cannot reclaim slurs and people are free to do as they like if they can. i see this one thing specifically with tatsumi a lot where people jokingly bring up how said character is homophobic or make homophobic comments towards characters even if theyre being like. excited or happy. and idk. personally it makes me sad. like maybe its fandom culture now maybe im old (is 23)
WHY WOULD RINNE SAY SLURS HES LITERALLY GAY AND IN LOVE....COME AWN NOW

Ooh, yay, my first Tumblr tag game, thank you @aesethewitch! How did you know that I wanted to refresh and resume using my social stuff! :) Also, I love, love, love learning fun facts about people, so, bonus.
are you named after someone? No, I'm basically the only person on my mother's side of the family who is NOT named after St. Mary.
what sports have you played? I've never played any - I was the girl in high school with a reputation for being a lesbian and a witch, because I was home every night role-playing online instead of socialising, long-distance dating a dungeon-master, and playing Dance Dance Revolution for hours as my form of exercise. Funnily enough, I didn't actually dabble in witchcraft or dating women until I'd fled my hometown. Oh, but I did used to lift weights in the garage with my dad while blasting classic rock - that's almost a sport! It's a montage, at the very least!
do you use sarcasm? Not anywhere close to as often as I used to. Now I prefer silly word-play and even sillier voices, ridiculous sound effects, and exaggerated facial expressions.
what is the first thing you notice about people? Ever since I started working a sales job in a cosmetics store, the first thing I notice is the health and overall condition of people's skin and hair. My GOD did everyone have fried hair in a lot of old slasher movies!
what's your eye colour? Dark, dark brown.
scary movies or happy endings? Scary movies every time!
any talent? I don't really feel like I have any special talents, but my most consistently received compliment is for helping people feel heard, safe, and protected. I'm super proud of the fact that colleagues will come to me if they need someone between them and a frightening person or situation - I work in a major downtown area, so it happens more frequently than it should - or if they spot someone else nearby who needs any type of help. I definitely want to grow that aptitude in various ways. It's also really, really funny to me, because I'm 5'3", fat, and soft-spoken, and yet also the shop guardian!
what are your hobbies? My primary hobbies throughout my time off from work have been watching loads of movies, reading a lot of spicy romantasy, and trying out all sorts of new recipes, but I'd like to include more walks around the city, more decluttering and decorating, and more dedicated writing now that my energy levels are beginning to rise. Plus, I want to attain a conversational level of French, because I'm surrounded by cute francophones now!
do you have any pets? My chubby li'l geriatric baby kitty Lucy! She's my one and only - I don't see myself owning pets again after her - but I adore her and give her everything I humanly can. :)
how tall are you? Technically, I'm 5'3".5.
dream job? As of last night, I've been randomly fixated on considering becoming a massage therapist, but if I'm really fantasizing, I would combine it with becoming a registered dietitian, professional tarot and/or tea leaf reader, and romance novelist. Ideally, I could continue getting paid to rest at home and do whatever I want, but that deal expires with the cancer that I've almost finished officially removing from my body. X)
I'm only going to, very pointedly, tag @rosewitch89 to see if I can bully you into being active. ;) But I'd genuinely love to read answers from any mutuals!

8bit Reviews: Euphoria (the game, not the show)
Tumblr media
I wish my memory was a more reliable thing at times. Often times it can remember some really obscure happenstance that happened when I was ten or twelve. Of course it also has its moments where it struggles to remember things that happened earlier in the week. Perils of aging I suppose, anyway I wish it were more reliable because I truly want to know what exactly it was that set me on the trail of this visual novel. I cannot for the life of me recall what it was that brought it even tangentially into my notice, or the force that spurred me into action so quickly. It was only when I was about three quarters of the way through the second to last route that I became aware of the notoriety around Euphoria. For good or ill, it is certainly a well-deserved notoriety. This is without a doubt simultaneously one of the foulest things I've ever experienced, but also surprisingly one of the tamest as well. I don't really know how trigger/content warnings go, but be aware there is some heavy stuff beyond the jump.
Euphoria starts with our protagonist Keisuke Takatou waking up in a white room. Shortly after his awakening he is informed by a robotic voice to leave the room, or die. Heading to the next room he finds himself with a handful of his classmates and a teacher. The same voice then informs the group that they're "going to play a game" to determine if the group gets their freedom. Keisuke is designated the "unlocker" and his female classmates, and teacher are the "key holes." The game is simple, Keisuke is to take one of the keyholes into a room and perform a specific sex act to the satisfaction of whoever is holding them hostage. Basically the group is put into a Saw situation, only instead of violent gory mutilation it's rape. Naturally one of the students is mortified beyond belief and screams at the voice/hostage takers that she refuses to participate. To illustrate the situation they're in, the girl is taken to a different room, and when the rest of the group finds her she is brutally electrocuted to death in front of them.
There's a scene in this older horror film called The Green Inferno, in which out protagonists are captured by a village of cannibals deep in the amazon jungle. During the scene one of their number is selected by the villagers to be killed. So you get the scene where a college-aged woman is killed and dismembered by the cannibals, and the camera pans to the shocked and horrified reactions of the group. Then it shows the leader of the group held captive who is masturbating to the preceding events. Naturally the rest of the group calls him out on this fucked up behavior, but he insists it's not bad because you need to keep calm and not be stressed during times like these. Like in The Green Inferno, Keisuke is just incredibly turned on by the sight of the dead body and has a massive erection. One of the group, Nemu Manaka, finds Keisuke in this state and teases him over his dark desires to inflict pain and torment on girls as well as his apparent lust to rape the girls. What follows is a prolonged series of almost literal misery porn, because in addition to the mental strain of being put in such a situation the game is at its heart pornography. Just extreme fetish porn, including asphyxiation and literal shit eating.
What I find most odd about this is the fact that over the course of the VN you have these various depraved acts including murder by electrocution and literal shit eating, but for some reason it's the menstrual blood that gets censored. There's also implied taxidermy of a human in one of the games bad endings. In fact, except for one scene the game is largely restrained when it comes to bloody content. This isn't a complaint, of all the degenerate types of hentai out there I find guro to be the worst of the lot. It's just that given the games themes of depravity and subjugating those weaker than you there's very little violence. Straightforward, physical violence anyway, the novel is filled to the brim with sexual violence. I don't mean to imply that Euphoria is any the lesser due to its lack of women getting the shit knocked out of em, or that it would be better if you could see their innards in a way that could only be described as lovingly rendered. I just had thought since punishing those weaker than you is a pretty major part of the story that it would come up more than hardly at all.
As I was approaching the end of the story the idea sprouted in my head that this novel seems to have been censored rather heavily. I have no reason why this occurred to me given the very many rapes, and multiple times characters had been forced to eat other characters shit. Never the less thought sprung up, imagine my surprise after finishing the game when reading an interview with one of the authors they mentioned that they did indeed have to lighten up some of the darker themes so as not to upset one of the visual novel rating boards in Japan. Apparently there's two of them, one has a pretty lax approach towards violence and extreme themes in pornographic VNs, and one that's stricter. Clockup sent it off to the stricter of the two.
When it comes to the story I don't really have very much positive to say about it. I don't like basically any of the characters, I found the plot to be hard to get invested in, and as it continued towards its ending I found myself getting more and more impatient with the frankly ludicrous explanations for the things that occur. I won't go into too much detail about it, but I just think that if you're going to introduce an element that fundamentally and completely changes character motivations at the drop of a hat via bullshit science you have to handle it very delicately. Also I just find it funny when there are characters themselves who just disappear from the narrative, almost as if they too got fed up with the story's shit and decided to just peace out.
The hell of it is, I don't even really hate the story, there are times where I found it was very well-written. Specifically villain characters and not just the simpering whining schoolgirl who is somehow miles worse than characters who are making others take part in a death game, or running a rapist murder cult, or just a bizarre evil religious cult. The problem I have with the story is that it just has a hard time measuring up to the heights of extremity that I thought it was going for. I thought it was going to just be sexual violence that keeps turning the knob higher and higher until people were basically just fucking clumps of meat. I don't know how it would go from there, what sort of resolution it would have, but instead the game keeps it just shy of guro snuff porn. Maybe that says more about me, but a very short time into this I thought the game was going to be reaching the levels of A Serbian Film, or a Hostel, but instead it kept it at a level more akin to an All Night Long. Please know, that I'm aware that the other novel by ClockUp Maggot Baits is probably closer to what I thought Euphoria would wind up as.
The story's all well and good, but what about the porn 8bit, I'm sure you're asking. It doesn't matter how fucked up or irritating the story is if the sexy sexy porn is good right? I won't really talk about the fetish stuff, because I think that's up to the user more than anything. What I like, and what you like can be entirely different things. From an art stand point I don't particularly like the look of most of the cast. It's probably just an age thing, but I don't have very strong feelings to the moeblob art style of roughly ten years ago, it just stands out as fairly generic. The majority of the cast just has a general "cute" feeling to them, that I'm sure it is meant to make the inevitable filth and depravity supposed to be just that much more spicy. The main love interest character Kanae for instance just feels like the generic love interest character from a slice of life or romantic comedy anime of the time. They're played more realistically than the wildly divergent designs you would get in a harem anime. But again, I can't really shake the feeling that they were designed somewhat generically on purpose. So when it pulls the rug out from under you, and a more extreme personality reveals itself you'll have a harder time reconciling it with the moe uguu~ face they had earlier on. Except for Rika, she remains a constant shrill nuisance who is largely unchanged for the entire runtime. But again, art is subjective, and maybe I'm just bringing my own baggage from my readings of slice of life, and romance mangas to the table. The main girl Nemu stands out in this regard because she doesn't really fall into the same "generally cute" area that the rest of the cast lives in.
But yes, the porn. It'll probably get you there depending on your personal tolerance for sadistic sex. To its credit, unlike some other porn VNs I've played this one actually has motion to some of the sex scenes. A large portion of it is still images, but there is some that has actual motion to it. None of the more extreme scenes, there's no motion in the scenes of coprophagia or branding. On a personal level I didn't find the game particularly enticing, but that's owing more to the art style than my distaste for the types of sex on display. Also, credit to the writers I wasn't recoiling from reading their sentences about fucking, so it has that going for it. It has the usual porn dialogue problem that all porn has, but nothing too egregious. There are some extremely stupid lines, but they are relatively few and far between, but again, all porn has some extremely dumb lines now and then. Goes with the territory.
There's really not much for me to recommend Euphoria for. The premise might be a bit off-putting but honestly it's not the worst I've seen. The music is fine for the most part, a lot of ambient piano and percussion instruments, nothing super porny during the sex scenes, just a lot of somber slow piano to try to keep a low atmosphere of dread. I wouldn't even really recommend it from a story perspective because the plot really loses itself towards the final hours of it. It's just more or less roughly thirty hours of misery porn, quite literally.

Days felt different when one had no way of seeing the sun going up and down; living in the sewers had robbed Akiyama of any sense time and how long he had been down there, although he got updates from the overall situation in Kamurocho from his peers and friends among the homeless network. To be invisible, now, was an advantage – it meant none of these poor men and women would be targeted by the Saio (or the Tojo).
And although Akiyama Shun was not a member of either organization, his association to the Tojo was now impossible to be disregarded; ‘an ally to Dojima Daigo’, people had said – and the moneylender had to chuckle, because he personally disliked so many things about the yakuza as a group and yet he was frequently dragged into their business. It was no surprise it led to him sitting on his garbage throne and waiting out until he felt it was safe to be above ground again.
…Which happened way earlier than he predicted when Lyla found him, paying the loan shark a surprise visit; she was one of the very few people outside of his homeless friends that had been told his location – Akiyama trusted her completely; after all, he was aware Lyla was not exactly… Human. He had kept her own secret with fierce loyalty and knew she returned it just as strongly.
And besides… There was no one else that could be such a capable bodyguard to him such as the Russian lady. At her invitation to go up for a small stroll and some fresh air, Akiyama couldn’t say no – it was as if she had read his mind; he desperately needed to see people, have a decent smoke and hopefully a warm bath. Lyla just grinned while he relayed all the things he wanted to do as if she was now in charge of babysitting the Lifeline of Kamurocho.
Unfortunately, Akiyama’s appearance did not do him any favors – he was turned away at the door of most establishments and the woman needed to go inside to buy anything the loan shark needed instead. Lyla often returned with extra things he had not asked for - but which she presumably thought to be amusing or interesting (including a small plastic toy in the shape of a pig, which squealed when pressure was applied; he was sure it had been a joke about the way he smelled).
They went to Theater Square to eat – with the man unable to get inside restaurants, eating the kombini bentos at the square was one of the best options. However, even at such odd hours in the night, there were Saio members patrolling the grounds away from Little Asia – Akiyama was not even halfway done with the food when Lyla alerted him to their presence – her senses picked them up before the man ever noticed anything amiss, but he didn’t need to be told twice; Lyla was his bodyguard for the evening and he wasn’t about to turn into a difficult client.
However, they didn’t go far – a couple of people running among the casually strolling individuals at the square would draw more attention; and Lyla decided for a creative alternative, and took advantage of the area close to the arcade to just shove Akiyama against the wall with a type of strength that the moneylender would have called uncommon for a girl – but he knew Lyla was no ordinary lady, either.
It was with a mix of a pained groan and an amused smile that he allowed himself to be pressed against the area next to one of the doors to the arcade, out of sight from most of the patrolling thugs from the Saio Triad – they went about their business without even realizing one of the man they were looking for was under their noses (quite literally, when one realized that the sewers ran underneath all of Kamurocho with connecting manholes).
But for the redhead, it was hard to forget that Akiyama was so close by – particularly with the look she gave him and the pointed sniffs that followed; maybe he happened to be extra bad to her given the heightened senses? But at any rate, he grinned – and the loan shark retrieved the small plastic pig to squish it, twice, entertained with the annoying sound it made.
“Yeah, I know, I need a shower – I got the memo,” Akiyama sighed then, cautiously looking around as Lyla stepped back with a smile of her own, “You think you can escort me to the hotel district? Guess if I throw enough bills at them, they might let me inside for a bath.”

Okay. I’m not done ranting yet. Something that particularly irks me is when people… “waifu” the female characters? Like, the fanart gives them all the same face, the same curious/innocent blush? And I don’t know. It’s weird.
Tumblr media
*switching sides...* (im joking i just like having the name i gave myself when i was 15, cringe and not shameless)
Absolutely marbelous rant indeed and this is highly tied up to the hypersexualization that goes over the internet and a lot of social situations that happen to internet users along the years of using social media and being exposed to pornography.
I will try not to rant too much and overextend but fair warning: It will most probably happen. Sadly, this happens all the time. Its no secret that League Of Legends is one of the most searched and most profitable sources to produce porn off. Im not sure if you're referring to this or just making slightly suggestive art of random characters like Diana and giving her this innocent girl-esque type of personality that is literally not hers...? Either way both are tied to hypersexualization and the roles given to women that still prevail nowdays.
Being completely honest, this is partially Riot's fault. No secret they always sexualize their characters (Both male and female but, you know, in comparasion the women sexualization is heavier) and they dont even try to stop this. Small design opinion/concept: I think they should have done Briar very very skinny, to the point of bones marking, instead of making her a feast for people with thigh and feet fixations. Its not bad that she has this body type and it somewhat makes sense why her thighs are like that but... You know, they could have given her this very famelic and ''creepy'' (not because anorexia is creepy, but because her vampire in starve condition everyone dismisses) look, make everytime she moves around that her bones crack or rattle... more thristy, more hungry. At this point she just looks like a girl that craves for chicken nuggets. She's would be creepy not because of her body type but because of this failed experiment 'russian sleep experiment'-esque type of character.
Yet they gave her a normal look. I dont want to think that the feet were intentional, i honestly dont want to think it that way... I just prefer to think that people fixated on this because of fetish and not because Riot thought it was a marketable strategy to sell a barefoot champion...
Ever noticed that League Of Legends porn featuring male champions (In heterosexual intercourses) are often the dominant, degradating and disrespectful? Ever noticed that the least manly characters of the same gender are often ridiculized or only used in meme porn? Ever noticed how female champions no matter her personality or sexuality (Portrayed in heterosexual intercourses) are 99% of the time the submissive part, being degradated and humilliated to the point of abuse of sexual, physical and mental type? And that it apparently turns on people? Ever noticed how the POC characters both male and female are either ridiculized or extremely fetishized in racist ways? Ever noticed that characters who are confirmed lesbians are portrayed in a fetishized way for heterosexual men even having them with male sexual interaction because 'oh we are lesbians but we'd love to have ur dick in our mouth'? Ever noticed there's porn of Annie and nobody gives a flying fuck and excuses it as jokes? The Zoe never ending discussion of 'she's 10000 years old she's allowed to be pornifyed'? Ever noticed there is bestiality in this community and nobody gives a flying fuck either?
When you form yourself a community of heterosexual men that will degradate women for even enjoying the same game they do, and you extend your hand as a company to give them sexualized by base characters, and you also give this to creepy artists, wich always have demand of new artwork portraying characters this way. League fanbase doesnt respect shit. Im not saying everything has to be vanilla but how damn high is the percentage of porn can be considered abuse and non-con? Why the fuck is this so normalized.
Look, to summarize, and using Diana's example for before. Its okay if you want to (for example) headcanon Diana or make a canon divergence where she is a lolita-dressed girl that is stubborn but sweet in the end. That is completely fine. It is not okay to portray Diana in a childish, exploitative and lolicon type brat just so you can jack off.
my honest opinion: do not expose yourself to league of legends porn. I've done it, and its traumatizing to watch sometimes, at least for a person like me who is both very sensitive to a lot of topics but also very radical with own opinions. Do not watch porn in general. Its the best advice you can get out there. Im being completely honest.

NAME:   Violet Parr  AGE:   Twenty-Seven SEXUALITY:   Bisexual  HEIGHT:   5′9″ PRONOUNS:   She/Her OCCUPATION:   Postgraduate Law Student / Waitress at House of Mouse ABILITIES:   Invisibility & Force field generation
Throughout all her life, Violet has aways wished for one thing and one thing only— to be normal. Instead, she was born with magic because both her parents were magical. Even her two younger brothers, Dash and Jack-Jack, was born with it too. The Parr’s was a family filled with magical supers and Violet couldn’t help but feel like a total freak because of it.
Unlike Violet, her the rest of her family didn’t seem to feel the same way she did. Granted, they weren’t the type to scream it out to the world that they were magical (Scratch that, her mom and Jack-Jack wouldn’t but if it were up to her dad and Dash, than everyone within Echo Isle would know about them by now), but they were a lot more accepting to being so than Violet ever was. Her family just knew how to be secretive about it. Both her parents constantly reminding their children to not use their abilities at school or around prying eyes if they could help it, but also not restricting any of them from not using their abilities altogether whenever they were home or somewhere safe. Her parents just wanted them to be cautious, which was something Violet was more than willing to do.
Violet has always been the shy and quite girl who always faded into the background, which in itself was a total contrast to her parents and especially her younger brothers. And because this, ironically enough—despite her initial dislike for her powers—the abilities she has worked very well for the type of person Violet was.
Her powers consists of being able to turn herself invisible and creating force fields around herself and/or anyone close to her. And while creating force fields wasn’t an ability she used all that often, her invisibility powers on the other hand, turned out to be very useful for her. Particularly in situations where she didn’t want to be noticed by anyone, which happened more times than she would like to admit.
In truth, despite her parents trying to keep the revelation of the entire family being magical, there was a point in time where a group of kids found out that Violet was magical. It was back in a time where the ravenette didn’t despise her gift— she was super young back then, younger than Jack-Jack is now, and Violet didn’t know any better at the time. She was still learning how to use her invisibility back then and wanted to show off to some of her friends. From what she remembered, it was a only a group of five other kids who surrounded her that day when she turned invisible in front of them. But instead of her peers being accepting of her gift or finding them cool, they use to pick on Violet and bully her by calling her names like ‘weirdo’ and ‘freak’. Hurt and confused, she tried to defend herself and say that she wasn’t a freak and that being magical was ’normal’ because her mom and dad use to tell her that it was. But instead of making the situation any better, it only got worst and it resulted in her parents having to switch Violet into a different school. Kinda hard since Echo wasn’t exactly a big place, but luckily they were able to switch her to a school on another neighborhood while reassuring their daughter that none of those kids would remember about what happened that day. But it was too late, since that incident, Violet soon grew to severely dislike being magical altogether. A feeling in which she continued to have even now as a grown adult.
It took until Violet was nineteen for her to learn how to turn her clothes invisible whenever she was, and as well as she now knows how to turn objects invisible too as long as she’s touching and focusing on them.
Hasn't been successful in knowing how to turn others invisible with her but also have yet to fully practice on it as she tries not to use her powers whenever it’s not needed.
When it came time for college, Violet wanted decided on a path that would seem like the most normal yet stable for her, which turned out to be going for law. It was a surprise for her parents when she first told them what she was planning to major on, as she never fully showed interest in wanting to become a lawyer until college started up. And to be honest, Violet wasn’t all that interested in becoming one even now as a first year postgraduate student, but it still felt the most practical approach to her. At least becoming a lawyer meant that she wouldn’t struggle financially later in life and would be able to help her parents or brothers if needed sometime in the future.
Alongside her studies, Violet took up a waitressing gig at the House of Mouse. Her parents were more than happy to help pay for her college fees, but she didn’t want to rely on them too much especially with Dash in college too and Jack-Jack still needing to attend it in the future. Violet had told her mom and dad that it was fine, she could take care most of the bills and if that meant needing to take up a few extra shifts at the House of Mouse, she’ll do it. Add having moved away from her house alongside needing to keep up with her studies plus taking care of her youngest brother when needed — yeah, Violet has a bit on her plate.
Whenever she creates a force field, her eyes turn a bright purple.
A weird tick she’s has is that whenever she’s sneezing a lot, her invisibility activates and she’ll turn invisible, And then visible again the second time she sneezes. It's worse knowing that she get’s bad allergies. Her powers also tends to act up whenever she’s super intoxicated, and because of that, Violet tries her best not to get too drunk and has a hard two drink limit.
Might be a sucker for cheesy-romance novels but won’t ever admit to it.
Music is her safe space and she likes to use it to block herself away from the world. Listening to music is when Violet feel’s the calmest and has had the interest in expanding on this hobby before but has never actually done so.
Violet is felixaeble and nimble, she got it thanks to her mom who did gymnastics for many years back when she was younger and had taught Violet a few moves back when she was a little girl. She also likes to regularly go to the gym to keep in shape.
Breathes in sarcasm and dry humor.
Is very observant and tends to notice things that most people wouldn’t.
Is super secretive about her magical abilities ever since what happened back when she was a kid. So much so that not even the people she considers closes to her knows about them. And not because Violet doesn’t want to trust any of them with her secret, but more along the lines of the fact that she’s afraid of how they’ll react to finding out about them.
