Okay as much as I love Buddie. I tbh I hope Buck/Tommy lasts for a bit. I rlly don’t want it to be a one off. I would like to see this relationship develop and grow. I don’t want it to be just a stepping stone to Buddie

a plausible canon buddie finale moment i can see happening is if eddie is trapped but he's able to communicate with the team using his radio, he's badly injured, he's losing hope, he thinks he's about to die alone, so we get a shot of eddie, teary-eyed but determined, reaching for his radio, then it cuts to buck as eddie's voice comes through saying "buck? you there?", then back to eddie hearing "of course eddie i'm not going anywhere" and eddie's wet little laugh before he says "buck i gotta tell you something" which is when of course they pick up eddie's heat signature in the rubble and buck cuts him off with a "i'm coming eddie" and then later, in the hospital, buck's about to leave to take christopher home but he stops in eddie's doorway and asks "hey what were you gonna tell me?" and eddie just smiles and says "i don't think i'm ready to say it yet. don't think you're ready to hear it yet either"

Also age swap Evan has social anxiety x10, and he doesn't have any friends so it means a lot to him when his little brother brings his friends over and begs Evan to take part in their games. Evan is always up to be the Permanent Seeker in hide and seek or the Big Bad Monster chasing the little ones through the house, 'cuz despite his social anxiety, he does like being around people (especially kids) and he wants to make things happy for Mike and his friends

This post would be 20 yards long if I put every idea tempting me away from current wips, but here’s a few:

- werewolf!buck: an old abandoned wip from ages ago that I’ve been feeling like completely revamping. Right before Buck gets back to work after the lawsuit (IT’S NOT LIKE THAT I PROMISE) he gets bitten by a lone wolf and then freaks out and tries to hide his newfound wolf-ness from everyone. Whump, angst, all the good stuff.

- demon possessed buck: heavily inspired by the song “new invention” by IDKHOW. Buck is a sad boy who picks up a demon along the way (unbeknownst to him) and it saps all his energy and makes him lose time and he wakes up in strangers beds and in crowded bars in clothing he doesn’t remember owning. He thinks he’s losing his mind and the firefam is very worried.

- teen buddie au: as someone who really has a hard time getting behind high school aus I can’t believe this wip is tempting me. Buck runs away from home at like….16? 17? Makes his way to LA, bathena fall in love with this kid that’s always loitering around the fire station and end up taking him in. Eddie ends up in LA to live with his Abuela because his parents find him with Shannon and it leads to a big blow out fight and they ship him off.

- buck finds a safe haven baby: exactly what it says in the tin. Buck finds a baby in a box and immediately gets attached, joins the volunteer program at the hospital and is around so much he starts getting mistaken for “dad.” He ends up contacting the baby’s social worker like “what do I need to do in order to adopt her” and he begins a foster parent journey and goes to hen and Karen for help. Eddie comes around to help when buck gets to take the baby home and essentially ends up becoming her other dad because “you’re always there for chris and I, let me be here for you and her.” Buckley parents try to ruin everything, as usual.
