Ericka Pregnancy Dump Part 3!

1.Had the idea of Ericka reassuring Drac for a while, and I've been playing with the idea that, while Ericka is pregnant, Drac sometimes likes to stick around her when he can to make sure she's doing alright. Sometimes that includes him resting on her shoulder in bat form. Ericka, of course, doesn't really mind him being around, but she's still trying to keep him from fussing over her too much. After all, he worries enough as it is.

2. Speaking of Bat!Drac on Ericka's shoulder, I was in a sleepy cuddles mood again!

((Bonus: I hid some fun surprises in the registry book. XD))

3. With the 20th week just past, I thought I'd do Drac finding out that one of the twins is a boy which means he's finally having a son. (He loves that he's having another daughter too. I just thought I'd give the guy his moment since, judging by HT2, he did want a boy at some point.) Ericka's amused by his reaction and Mavis...well, after seeing her father dance in drag around the room after finding out about Dennis, she's not surprised.

Like Mavis, Ericka personally doesn't care what she gets. She's just happy her and Drac's monster-human legacy is actually happening. Whatever combination they come in. Mostly, they found out because these two are both planners who if they knew you COUKD find out before definitely would and plus... well, we've seen how Drac is when it comes to surprises and "Wait and see" situations. XD But beyond names and maybe clothes ("Even that's a matter of preference"), having one he didn't get to have last time etc. Ericka doesn't see why gender matters all that much. Van Helsing apparently didn't seem to care much what gender Ericka was, as long as she could do what was expected of her. Plus, she's also a martial artist. Which, in fighting, gender doesn't make as much of a difference as you'd think, and as a matter of fact female warriors are respected due to their ferocity (coming at it from a mental perspective of being an underdog.) I'm sure being Pan helps too. Her answer to "Do you want a boy or a girl?" Would most likely be "...I want babies." Either that, or just "Yes." XD

4. Wanted to draw some pregnancy stuff with Ericka and Mavis bonding (since Mavis has had a kid of her own already and they both became moms without having a mom themselves.) But I ended up making things feelsy. As much as they are two sides of the same coin, Ericka and Mavis came from very different worlds. And I kinda liked the idea that Mavis, being the more emotional and much less traumatized one of the two, could bring a nice outsider perspective, pointing out some of the more messed up things about Ericka's upbringing that she herself tends to be "This is fine. :)" about. Similar to how Ericka can be the practical brutally honest outsider perspective for Mavis. Plus, the idea of her getting upset on behalf of the stepmom she once tried to crush is both sweet and funny. XD

5.Some pregnant Drericka fluff inspired by some partner in love with pregnant belly prompts I found a while back involving the partner kissing the belly bump and tickling the other person. X3 Which is even sweeter with how touchstarved Ericka is and how strict her childhood was/how she was expected to act. Another one of those "bringing out each other's playful sides" things.

6/7. Was in a pregnant!Ericka mood yesterday morning. Ended up working on these longer than was intended but they turned out great. I've had the idea of Ericka discovering the "belly press-baby kick" game for a while. And of course loving/protective and Sleepy mama are always fun to do.

8. Dracula comforting an exhausted, achey, and very dramatic pregnant!Ericka as she flops onto his legs/lap.

Been meaning to do some Drericka fluff, and I had the "I'm going to be as big as the Legacy by the time they get here" joke for a while. Don't worry, as much as the guys joke, she's not going to get THAT big. They're just messing with her and Ericka's just being her usual dramatic self. As she would say "Look, hon, I can't help how I am. Being Dramatic is LITERALLY in my code. Besides, we're pretty much finding almost every possible way to void the human body warranty with these cute lil imps. And with almost ZERO idea what ANY of us are doing, I might add. I have EARNED my right to be dramatic."

9. Was in the mood for some Mama Ericka fluff. Plus, I haven't drawn Eve much lately. I like the idea of Eve being one of those cats who like cuddling up to their owner's pregnant belly/rubbing it with their paws and purring.

10. Some sleepy pregnancy fluff. While she IS willing to change position, Ericka's not about to give up her favorite pillow (Drac) just because she's having twins. She sleeps better hugging him and resting on his chest or shoulders where she can feel the rise and fall of his breathing anyway - the heartbeat is optional. (Plus, with her body temp higher than normal, the difference in body temp probabky feels REALLY good right now.)

Ericka Pregnancy Dump Part 2!

1. Cute/funny idea I recently came up with of sleepy pregnant Ericka trying to get some work done (I'm sure both in WIR-Verse and in her regular one, she'd try to keep working as long as she can. Even if she gets taken off in-game duties. She's very much the cheerful enthusiastic passionate about her job workaholic like Joy is. And we all know about Joy's Stonetide faceplant.) Mavis of course is helpful, having been there once in a way. And Van Helsing...well, let's just say it's a little bit of payback for the times Ericka's been annoyed by his tendency to take impromptu naps. Not the best idea to be making those jokes next to the daughter of his former rival who's the one of the 3 who's actually BEEN there, but still. He would. XD

2/3. XD I drew Hungry pregnant Ericka. Along with a fun bit of fluff that spun out of it. Yes, I broke my craving rule but him calming her down/distracting her with a kiss is adorable. And it does have the spirit of the idea anyway.

4. Was in the mood for some new mom Ericka stuff. (Again, it's regular Ericka to make it workable for both universes.) When I drew the first one with Drac, I kinda figured Ericka would be wiped out from the end of a twin pregnancy and either birth or a c-cection. So she waited a bit to hold the twins so she could rest up. Thinking about that and the irony of Ericka worrying about being cold since she was raised by her strict, by-the-book Great-Grandfather with how I think she'd actually be (I do love Mama Ericka, whether it's with Mavis or the twins.), It inspired this.

Don't worry, she'll get to the "Look at these! I made these!" Showing the twins off to everybody point eventually. But everyone else had a chance while she was wiped, she wants her moment to bond and she's not letting go of her baby bats that easily.

5. Wanted to draw Ericka curled up asleep in the cape. Ended up being pregnant Ericka. Bonus sleepy Transylvanian and Ericka hugging her bump as she sleeps!

(And she was worried she might be a harsh cold mom, having beem raised by a strict, not-too-affectionate guardian herself.)

6. This one came to me while I was working on a previous idea. I liked the idea of Drac, despite actually being the one killable by sunlight, shielding/sheltering Ericka under his cape. Even better with her being pregnant since pregnancy DOES make your skin more sensitive AND can cause you to overheat since you feel warmer anyway with all the extra bloodflow. Hense this wholesome moment. (This may possibly be in Game Central Station. I've played with the idea that, like Bot Fighter, HT's time zones are flipped since most of the game happens at night.

Bonus:

" Nice hat...Isn't that your monster festival hat?"

"**blushing, looking away** Y-yez. I know it lookz zilly on me, but it'z ztill the mozt protective thing I have. Vell, I mean, bezidez the babushkaz, and-"

"Hmm, well you're hot to me, handsome vamp. **chuckle** ...Seriously, though. I like it. Sure, it's no ax. But...You look charming in ANYTHING."

7. This started out as a gag where Frank (being something of the calmer laid-back one of the group normally and almost the 2nd in command of the pack before Ericka came along. Especially in the first one. He's also kinda Ericka's "big brother" figure I think.) was trying to keep the guys from crowding Ericka trying to touch her bump and ended up being just general "family with a new/expectant mom" chaos of everybody around Ericka and her kind of giggling to herself about being surrounded by all this. I kinda like that, it shows how far my girl has come. Going from being largely on her own, doing for others more than herself, and actually at one point ignored or intimidated when she was upset to being fussed over and surrounded by family. It's sweet.

8. Drew this one a while back based on some fat Serleena screenshots XD (Since Ericka's pregnant with Twins and MIB 2 is also a Columbia Pictures film, I think the comparison is...kinda funny. Plus Ericka WOULD joke about eating people to those who point out how big she's gotten.)

9. I had to do the packs' reaction to finding out about Ericka having twins some point. while all of them ribbing him would be funny, I ended up going a little more with personality: Frank being the happy supportive guy, Murray's the excited one, Wayne's the experienced one trying to offer help, and of course Griffin is the smart-alec jokester. Drac's reaction to this is...well, what you'd expect. XD

Kinda fun to include Wayne in this considering he didn't really get a chance to react to Drac's crush on Ericka with the others (Aside from his comment in the Novelization which it's a shame it didn't happen in the film XD)

10. And the first drawing of the new year: Wanted to draw Dracula with his newborn twin babies. Ended up adding bonus post-labor Ericka. (Been whembling about if she actually does labor or a C-section.)

Hello I have a good question if you were going to make Hotel Transylvania 4 what would it be about

That's a good question. There was alot of wasted potential in the Transformania that we got. Mainly resolving the "what happens if the monster spouses outlive their humans" question, but also in unexplored dynamics and resolving whether or not Drericka are actually married.

As much as I like what they were trying to do with the "Don't try to change people" and "I love you for who you are" messages, Personally I quite like my friend @lovelylivelyv 's idea of making the possibility of turning the humans into monsters more about choices and who they are being what's inside that counts. (Whether that means actually turning them into vamps - which at the least would have been interesting to play with as a possibility) or the monsterization ray. Both Ericka and Johnny have found family in monsters and the ability to truly be themselves....so why not let monsterization be an extension of that? After all, if humans and monsters are basically all the same, why not? Haveing Johnny be 500% ready to become a monster while Ericka's more nervous would be a great way to play with the criminally under-utilized Jericka dynamic and would be a nice allegory for all sorts of things like being trans, religious conversion, coming out, etc. Mavis being called out on pushing humanity over monsters when it came to Dennis while chastising Drac and Vlad for doing the opposite would be good too. Include the female monsters in the human-monster switcheroo. At the LEAST, it should have been more about whether the changes would be permanent or not rather than the "Brave on steroids" we ended up getting.

Another route that woukd have been good is focusing on the Drericka wedding and bonding of Ericka and Mavis, which Mavis is also somewhat under-utilized as a character. Maybe having Mavis find out she was going to have (possibly dhampir) half-siblings would be a fun extension of her awkwardness in HT3. XD

Drericka having kids eventually would also be a fun way to play with some possibilities that didn't happen in HT2. For my Drericka shipchildren: "What if Drac had a dhampir that WASN'T monstery?" and "What if Drac had a kid that was more wild and adventurous, like Ericka and Johnny, rather than like him?" Plus give some interesting character development for Ericka, who's never had a mom and wasn't raised by the kost affectionate guy. I see her going the opposite way of Van Helsing (in contrast to Mavis, who more or less became Drac as a parent.) And being a really loving and affectionate dorky parent who would do anything for her kids BUT adding a nice contrast to Drac's neurotic overprotective control-freak tendencies (Yes, that's mellowed over the last 10 years. But he's still an anxious worrywart with a need to be ontop of everything.) Basically the fun parent without being the pushover Johnny was. And of course there'd be Vlad and Van Helsing as grandpas/great-great-grandpas, which it would also be fun to see how've THEY'VE grown over the past few years. (And perhaps the comedy of Van Helsing either claiming Van Helsings make better monsters than Draculas or Drac and him arguing about who the kid(s) are going to be like.)

Heck, even Ericka learning to fit in amongst a family of monsters, unlearning biases, and adjusting to her new life would make a fun plot. Seeing her being accepted by the pack and maybe finding a surrogate mom amd Dad in Wanda and Vlad. Her and Gryffin playing jokes. The continuation of the big Drericka shippers on deck (Frank, Murray, Griffin and Johnny) How she handles going from a strict and somewhat cold and lonely family situation (while I think Van Helsing does care in his weird way, he's not the best at showing it) where VH didn't notice her sadness (or worse, in the novelization she started to tell him about her changing views on monsters and he shut her down + intimidated her) to literally being surrounded by a crazy yet loving family. Dealing with the inevitable anxieties that woukd come up being surrounded by monsters in their space for the first time and how she would react to that. How hard she would try to fit in after having wanted a REAL family for so long and also having come from a family where you were judged by expectations. There's ALOT of possibilities there.

As much as I liked Transformania, There's ALOT of missed potential in the HT franchise that I would love to see explored.

A Holiday pic I did of the Drac fam + some of their pokemon celebrating both Hannukah and Christmas (Most of the Drac fam is jewish coded except for the Van Helsings - judging by the cross-stake Ericka has in one poster, the VHs are (appropriately) implied to be Christian. Hense both Holidays.) Thought I'd post this before it was too late.

Mistletoad being the monsterized version of mistletoe comes from @drericka I believe.

Here's another ship dynamic inspired one based on a post by @shabloobla that also kinda comes from a "The view's not bad either" women working out exchange I did on Discord with these two a while back where Ericka teases Drac about part of the reason he let's her use the hotel gym to work out/train in. Something about Ericka trying to flirt/show off after a workout and ending up coming undone at Drac's earnest genuine awed reply just....seems like them. Ericka may be a natural femme fatale, but she's a dork who's broken by genuine affection.

Bonus:

Ericka:"...WOO, is it suddenly WARMER in here, or is it just you? Wait, what? No, ME! Me! I meant me! Yikes. I must have, uh, worked myself harder than I thought. Clearly." **clears throat** "So um, I'm going to, uh, go take a...shower or something. To cool down. And so I don't...make anymore of mess in here. Than I already have." **nyooms out of there, internally screaming**

For the curious, Ericka's error message in the last pic reads

I've had this image in my head for a while. This is Ericka with the twins. Drac's the one with all the times and stats, meanwhile Ericka, who's never had a kid before and no idea how these things work, is the one going "I SPAWNED!" or, as here, showing the twins around to everyone who'll let her like "Look at these! We MADE these!!" (He definitely has those moments too of course. He's still the same dorky dad if maybe a bit more relaxed for the decades-long wear but Ericka especially being the first time mom and being the ball of enthusiastic affection SHE is.)

Last time Drac had to baby-proof the hotel. This time it's Ericka wanting to show off their babies to everyone in the hotel.

I wanted to do a sleepy cuddles parallel with Ericka and the "Lift the capes" moment in the OG HT. I also wanted to do Drac carrying a sleepy preggo Ericka.

Bonus: for the 2nd thought bubble, I was going to go back to the "I can't be with you" scene to contrast with what's happening here, but suddenly my brain decided to go a different direction, making a parallel to this moment and "It's time to start a new legacy." Either way, it came out adorable.

FINALLY did something with the "Drac keeps the stone needle he found in his neck" idea! I like the idea he keeps it wrapped in a cloth in a pocket on the inside if his suit near his heart as a reminder of her and their dance in the ruins, much like Ericka carries the axe she pulls from Drac's head. Unlike Ericka's axe, though, Dracula merely carries the needle around and doesn't use it as a weapon.

Pretty proud of how the Drac dialogue on this one turned out, I'm getting better at writing for him.

Bonus: Mavis getting a glimpse into what ACTUALLY went on in the ruins before she walked in on Dracula and Ericka. I like drawing Drac and Mavis interactions, even if it's not strictly about them. So any idea where I can draw them together is good. Plus she can kinda be the voice of the audience here as she probably wouldn't recognize the needle.

1. Wanted to draw some fun with Johnnyslime, the pack, and Johnny trying to be scary and failing.

2. While Johnny may be the Adam of the Drac fam when it comes to scaring, Ericka takes to it like a fish to water. Of course, some things never change: even as a human, Drac's more petrified with awe than with fear.

1. Little bit of fun riffing off the witch(es?) That had a thing for Dracula in the first film and to a certain extent the whole Vlad + Witches gag in HT3 itself. Ericka strikes me as less likely to get jealous than Drac. The guy definitely have some anxiety problems when it comes to being left alone that Ericka doesn't have. She's pretty darn confident in both herself and how lovestruck he is. Instead, she's alot more likely to get smug and brag about him to others - as long as they don't make him uncomfortable, hurt him, or seriously try and come between them. She can't say she blames the witches for being charmed by him, after all. She finds him irresistable herself.

2. Had a version of this WIR-Verse conversation in my head for a long time. There are alot of reasons I think Drac wouldn't be that keen on Venkmen, largely because he's the mouthiest and most money-focused one of the Boys in Grey. But also because Venkman is a flirt who has a reputation for hitting on most attractive women that visit the headquarters, Ericka and Mavis being no exception. Ericka however knows how to handle him and sees through her friend: He's a jerk with a heart of gold and has a zing of his own: Dana Barret. Even if he's not the best at SHOWING that. (Plus his greed, grey morality and ladies man tendencies are useful things for getting her way.)

Bonus bits that never made it in here:

"He flirts with every woman that comes in. Even flirted with Mavis once."

"Vhat!?"

"**Chuckles** Relax, Papa Wolf. I took care of it. I told him she's married and if he tried anything on our daughter, I'd zap him with his own proton pack."

" **Smiles and chuckles** That'z perfect!"

"Besides, everyone knows he zinged with this musician, Dana Barret. Nice lady, Clever too. And played by Sigourney Weaver. Even if I WANTED, there's no way I could compete with someone played by the Queen of Science Fiction herself."

"....😏😊Vell-"

"Oh no. Don't you even start."

"Ztart vhat? 😏

Here's a WIR-Verse one this time. I wanted to do Ericka flirting with Drac who had slipped into Transylvanian and a mischievious Audrey sneaking up behind him to snap him out of it with a banish zap, buy I had trouble getting it all in one pic so it ended up becoming 2. XD

Audrey doesn't have the revulsion to seeing Drericka flirting that Mavis does. She finds it cute, sweet, and funny. It sort of reminds her of Bendy and Alice - and being an animator on the next generation of Bendy Cartoons, they've probably inspired a few drawings she's done of the 2 characters. Of course, the girl has a mischievious streak. She can'r help but tease Drac a bit about his goofy awkwardness and dazed babbling. Plus, after finding out her powers do have a slight affect on vamps and being used to sneaking up on unaware ink monsters, seeing the legendary count completely lost in a lovestruck daze seems like an irresistable opportunity. After being chased and nearly killed by her cousins + Wilson's Keepers on a semi-daily basis, this girl has little fear of a scary-but-not-so-scary goofball like Dracula.

Bonus: I also like doing Ericka still melting Drac even when she's pregnant. It's a sweet twist on "Wife gets pregnant, isn't as desirable." And also...Ericka's always going to be a femme fatale, even with a baby bump (or perhaps, ESPECIALLY when she's pregnant with his twins.) She's his zing. He's still going to melt into a puddle around her sometimes.

Some sleepy Drericka art somewhat based on a VampirexSlayer fic on Tumblr I found called Love At First Bite by @pendarling. I mostly went in a fluffier direction than the fic since while I liked the dynamics, the OG led up to a somewhat dubcon biting scene that didn't really fit with these two. Though they COULD be seen as spicy, especially Ericka's. Drac's is pretty much straight from how it was in the story. Ericka's more fits Drericka's dynamic. She IS the more seductive of the two after all. I couldn'r decide which was better so I did both.

This started out as a Drac playing with Ericka's snake hair (and vice versa) and ended up a rather adorable bit about "well after setting up all that anxiety Ericka had in becoming a monster, how did she feel later?" Not to mention Drac's feelings and him and the other guys changing so she and later Mavis (Who was a late addition and...wouldn't be as nervous anyway) wouldn't have to go through the change alone.

I was also inspired by @but-thats-its-own-love-story 's gorgon hairplay prompt.
