dsmp as a play? hold my fucking shit, I’ve been thinking about this for TWO YEARS (as someone who did theater for like 12 years)

I absolutely adore the idea of some people seeing the audience and interacting with them and some don’t.

Especially the people who talk to chat a lot during the lore. (Techno, Phil, Tommy, etc.) but I also adore the thought that they gradually become more aware of the audience.

Like Niki for example, she doesn’t talk to the audience or like make them feel involved with her until she’s burning down l’mantree

I want Connor to be in the audience audibly reacting to everything on stage, maybe he even throws popcorn when like Wilbur presses the button and Charlie is just chilling observing everything and becoming more and more aware of the show

Whenever Eret is on stage it’s soft music playing, building up the more they are on until the betrayal happens, subtle and not really noticeable

a Technoblade monologue being performed to the audience, it’s articulate, it’s attention holding, the lighting is dramatic, and Tommy is to the side trying to figure out who tf he’s talking to

Pogtopia Wilbur gets a little more ragged every time he comes on stage, the lighting gets more and more eerie, and it’s the same lighting used in the control room.

DONT GET ME STARTED ON EXILE OH MY FUCK

I think Tommy would talk to the audience more during exile, becoming more aware of them the longer he’s alone. Maybe Dream catches him talking to the audience and takes away his tools again, but they are the only consistent thing in his life, so he continues talking to them.

THE YHINGS I WOULD DO TO DESIGN ERETS COSTUMES

The EGG DUDES, slowly through scenes they grow more and more obvious, maybe it starts out with a simple rose that grows vines and AHSHWKDJDI

SAM NOOK. Making Sam Nook a hand puppet that the actor who plays Awesamdude uses.

There are definitely so many like sad and angsty stuff to put in but like im just thinking about funny stuff.

Tubbo constantly looks at the Audience and gives them the Jim from the Office stare™️, but only until he becomes president and then he suddenly stops doing it.

Ranboo would also be really interesting, cause they talk to themselves a LOT, like their character specifically. Maybe when they aren’t talking they are watching the audience, pulling out their notebook to take notes.

God have you guys looked at stage fighting? Like genuine good stage fighting? Imagine that with the dsmp. I’m so normal about this and everything

When Techno goes into retirement he literally gets off the stage and joins the audience, tsking at stuff and writing shit down in a book, but never getting involved until he gets pulled back in.

ROUND 3 MATCHUPS I'M MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO AND WHY

Scar v. Schlatt - look, we all know Scar is gonna win, no question, but the schlannies came in clutch late in the game last round, I'm interested in seeing how much Schlatt loses by and whether the results shift later in the poll again.

Scott Smajor v. Jimmy - probably one of, if not THE, most popular non dsmp ship in the mcyt community and I for one cannot WAIT to see the flower husbands shippers tearing themselves apart. I predict Scott will win however due to him being literally everywhere, so far more recognized throughout the community. Jimmy's loser boy swag will not hold him up this time unfortunately.

Pix v. Slimecicle - two very different communities being pit against each other, it'll be interesting to see how it works out and I suspect will be a glimpse into where former dsmp fans migrated post dsmp hayday. many went in the hermitcraft/empires direction and many stayed a bit closer to home with ranboo, aimsey, and slimecicle types. I'm genuinely not sure how it'll turn out but I think mcytblrsexymanpoll has more empires type followers so I'm guessing maybe Pix?

Sausage v. Quackity - for similar reasons to Pix v. Slimecicle. additionally, these two have both been the victim of severe sexymanifaction at the hands of tumblr, I'd say Quackity has probably had it worse/longer but Sausage has definitely leaned into it FAR more. Again, not sure who's gonna win for this one, Quackity fans came in clutch last time but idk if it's gonna happen a second time.

Pearl v. Phil - look, look, I just, Pearl is my favourite, I love her. I know logically Phil has suffered far greater sexymanification but,,,, Pearl,,, I want her to win even if Phil probably deserves it more. Plus a Pearl v. Cleo matchup next round would be funny.

Cleo v. Eret - They both have similar girlboss appeal- they're both monarchs, they're both (sometimes) evil, they have both been made to look far more competent than they actually are. I think Cleo is gonna win based on how nominations were looking (and cause they deserve it) but I'm interested in seeing if it's gonna be close or if I'm completely wrong.
