ERASED.

Kikyou in the anime purpose Was to get rid of demons and help humans, as a priest it Was her duty so don't mixt duty with kindly.
Kikyou angry is iconic and the point of her character, even in manga she is still angry, so it's up to İnuyasha and the rest to put her soul to rest.
Kikyou was a shadow of revenge, body of clay, her relation with İnuyasha was over since the day Kikyou died and İnuyasha was put on a spell , but she didn't told him it was over and that he should move on, in the early episode of the anime, that is why they still saw each other for some moore episodes and doing things like hugs and kisses.
If Kikyou was fair she would have joined İnuyasha and the rest as soon as she found out the truth and told Inuyasha that he has another girl that loves him very much but no, she did not! Kikyou wasn't even a person in flesh, her duty as a priest didn't exist anymore, but she had choosen it anyway...
Even when Kikyou in the end dies in İnuyasha arms they still kiss, like come on, wasn't already over between you two?
Kikyou was made to be the other woman, the reason why Inuyasha could not move on, the toxic love and this is one of the reasons why the anime is special.
Kikyou is angry and can't accept a no and wants to steal lnuyasha, even when she still does priest duties, she still wants İnuyasha especially after she finds out he did not killed her and it was in fact Naraku.
That is why this works so well with Kikyou and we can't see her as anything more because Kikyou is already perfect, in showing you a really toxic, with flaws and even a desperate woman that makes mistakes, is jealous and can't accept thst Inuyasha is in love with another girl.
After all being kind and lovely doesn't suit her at all!
I have other questions that must wait in the queue for answers, because I haven't heard such nonsense for a long time.
Kikyou anime and Kikyou manga are very different from each other. This is very visible. But a person like you transcribes the characteristics of your kagome, who couldn't move on and used sit because she was jealous of the dead woman.
Kikyou was angry at first, but she directed her anger and anger towards Naraku and him only, she wanted revenge for herself and Inuyasha. He destroyed her life, even if Kikyou's body was fake, kindness and goodness were still inside her.
She was finally a free woman, able to hate and love. She was no longer limited by anything, and she helped people and even aagome become stronger, she even predicted that Naraku would want kagome's eyes, she gave her an arrow, she helped Team Inuyasha as much as she could, she saved the lives of many lives.
She saved Miroku knowing it would harm her, but she didn't have the biggest problem with it. She took risks. Just like she risked her plan to give Naraku the jewel to send him to hell.
Tumblr media
What nonsense. Kikyou is the 1st woman in Inuyasha's life. Kikyou's soul is in this Kagome's body, she has her power, it was thanks to her soul that Kagome found herself in those times and fell in love with Inuyasha. Kikyou is the core here that you are trying to erase from me by making her an angry, insignificant character with no development.
Kikyou can't move on and is still jealous, ftw.
Tumblr media
Here Kikyou wanted to leave knowing that her friends were worried about Inuyasha and said that she had to go. It was Inuyasha who hugged her. Of course they have kisses and hugs that are really wonderful. Who kissed Kikyou in her final death? She did it? Or maybe she asked him to? Because I only remember that Inuyasha did it and she said, "You came to me, that's enough," letting him know that it's good that she can see him for the last time.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He just lost a woman who loved him all over the world, it's obvious that he wanted to talk to her and say goodbye one last time. He apologized to her for failing to save her. Inuyasha and Kikyou needed a moment like this.
NO. There was no end between them because they were caught up in the intrigue. They didn't break up. They were deceived, even though they hated each other at the beginning, the love between them still exists, as the entire series showed.
I understand that inuyasha should leave her just because there is kagome he has, but she is the reincarnation of Kikyou and there is no reverse. Kikyou is first and she will always be second and Kikyou will ALWAYS be more important in the world.
I can't understand that you and the others are making Kikyou look like a bad person, and I honestly don't see any hatred for what naraku does. Kikyou is like Sango and Miroku, he ruined her life and hers. She is as much a victim as anyone else.
Of course… It's Kikyou who won't let him go, you're absolutely right, right, right (scarcasm)
meanwhile kagome after kikyou's death
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kikyou who wanted to leave him and Kagome who wouldn't let him leave the woman he loved because of her jealousy for her. won't give him to anyone, don't let him go to her even though he knows she loves him, because he can't leave her.
Marriage.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kagome's beautiful and sad face, full of pain and jealousy. They still haven't talked about it, their silent and sad faces say it all. Kagome is still jealous and had to sit down her husband, right? She still doesn't know how to talk about her being her reincarnation. She will never accept it, she will never accept that inuyasha still loves kikyou more than her and it is eating her up from the inside. She's the one who can't move on. If that was the case, she would take off his beads and she could talk about the situation normally, but he doesn't tell her anything about things related to Kikyou because it always ends like this, Kagome, sad, hurt, furious, uses sieves to take out her frustration on her husband although Kikyou is no longer a threat to her, she cannot accept InuKik's love and never will.
Everything you describe fits your lovely and not at all toxic and uncontrollable and eternally jealous kagome (scarsm)
I can see how Kikyou from an angry person becomes calmer and kinder, and her anger and anger are directed towards the right person, i.e. Naraku.
Kikyou never forces Inuyasha to be with her. She herself wants to destroy Naraku by refusing Inuyasha because she is taught to do so. She had to cope all her life, take care of the village and her younger sister. No one helped them, she had been taught this all her life, not to rely on others but to take matters into her own hands. When she did this, her weakness was exploited by the jealous Onigumo.
Kikyou was jealous in the beginning but later it's not like that you can't see that your kagome you are talking about is jealous from the very beginning of the story till the end. She has always been jealous and hurt overall Inuyasha is angry and Kikyou is a 'witch' who gets in the way of 'true love' because Kikyou and Inuyasha actually love each other Kagome is using Kouga's feelings to make Inuyasha jealous and it's okay that she is using another's feelings a guy she doesn't love and she's toying with him just to make Inuyasha jealous.
It wouldn't make sense for Kikyou to join the team because Kagome is there! So why would she be there? Kagome wouldn't let her do that due to her morbid jealousy.
For you, the anime is good because it shows Kikyou as a typical series rival of the main character, where she is the worst, while the truth is different. Kikyou is lovely and kind, full of love and a very complex character undergoing real character development, while the 'other woman' stands still, still jealous of the dead woman, and keeps her husband on a leash, not trusting him, but talking about trust.
She wanted revenge, but she also took revenge and gave up revenge to save Kohaku's life over destroying naraku
Tumblr media
Kikyou cleansed the jawel, saving Kohaku's life, even after death she was among them and supported them.
Inuyasha will never stop loving Kikyou, it's time to come to terms with it! I really don't care about the ships in this series. I think he loved them both, but Kikyou more, and Inukag is toxic on Kagome's side. She is the problem here, but she never notices it instead of accepting that she is second and will always be second. Accept what she knows from the beginning. Jealousy is a natural thing, but it's time to accept the fact that she will be the other woman and Inuyasha will never love her as much as Kikyou loved her.
Kikyou is kind and lovely unlike that 'other woman'
Oh, and what's more important. That wasn't her goal in the anime at all. Because I read an interview with director inuyasha who hated her and didn't understand her, for him she should be dead and that's why Kikyou is like that in the anime. Sunrise hated her and the director he was drawing , for example, for episode 33 ( the episode where Kikyou gives the jewel to Naraku) i don't remeber which episode.. is... but there in the final scene Kikyou has an infinite hand. He really hated her. Sunrise was very biased towards Kikyou and they really hated her.
The anime is simply perfect for you because it shows her the way you want, because you like her that way, when in the manga she is a completely different character.

Haruno Sakura and misogynistic ass fandom
sakura haruno is one of the most hated chareters in naruto with her hate being so comically massive that it surprised the creator himself... but why ? what went wrong with sakura ?
I, in particular ,am not a fan of the way kishimoto wrote women in the manga or how shonen in general potrays female charechters. But the thing with sakura and misogyny is that it has more to do with the fandom than the author ,and if you ask me ,compared to how demented the fandom is ,kishimoto practically looks like a feminist icon .  character criticisms dont bother me, but in the curious case of sakura alot of this “criticism” spirals down to very abbhorent misogyny.
starting right of the bat we have the dude-bros and self-projecting psycho's of the fandom, who hate her cause she's a shallow bitch(their main male charecter-onto whom they project- is a serial attention seeker btw , with being popular his main incentive in life) who likes the popular , good-looking guy and doesnt pay heed to the nice guy's advances dattebayo , no kidding -
Tumblr media
i found it difficult to wrap my head around how this utterly gross misogynistic nonsense is so fucking common , it seems that sakura might have triggered their deep down incel by daring to want sasuke -and this also happens to be the reason why hinata is so popular amongst that particular crowd -because unlike that shallow bitch who rejected our nice guy, hinata worshiped his tiny err.."naru-chan"
these wankers' try to paint hinata as the submissive waifu prototype (erasing even her little canon qualitites we get to see to fulfil there deraged fantasies) and just to cope with the fact that sakura rejected naruto , but err he got the plastic doll waifu , so all is well. they dont end it here though , they go on to elaborate how miserable and sad sakura's life and is that this is what she deserves for "choosing the emo" over the nice guy , while naruto apparently had a better ending for himself by "scoring" hinata .
it reminds me of this apallingly misogynistic meme-
Tumblr media
you'll hope these deraged psychos end here , but they dont.
the next slandering is surprise! surprise! -sakura's looks
because y'know naruto just had some dirt in his eye when he calls sakura cute. or even when making a remark on how incredibly beautiful haku is, sakura is the objective female beauty standard he compares him to, and the true hidden beauty in the series is hinata imao(the one whose been called weird, plain and crumpy throughout canon) or the inferiority at sakura's rejection and sasuke's obvious superiority to naruto is curbed by hyping up naruto's own looks saying (based on anime filler nonsense) that naruto "gets princess" and sasuke gets normal girls , while throughout the manga the only girl that shows any sort of romantic/sexual interest in naruto -is hinata (and the reason why she likes naruto has little to do w looks) , thats it , even when he becomes the messiah of the hidden village by making pain revive everyone-no girl is interested in him (I adore Kishimoto for doing this and not sticking to the sexist bs of these shallow bitches like our underdog nice guy only when he become popular GRR..GRR.., except for princess byakugan ofc- thennnn lo and behold ,studio peirriot uses this misogynist ass trope in "naruto:the last" , there is only a limit to keep rejecting you deranged fanbase i guess, sometimes one must comply for money)
these petty dumbsos dont even stop here, you though misogyny was enough? what about misogyny+sexualisation(of an UNDERAGE character) +body shaming ?
since sakura has commited the blashphemy of daring to reject naruto's advances (did you hear the recent news of a black woman getting hospitalized after she rejected a dude, becasue that turd was so pissed at her audacity that he threw a brick on her face or that gory case of junko furuta, may her soul be in peace, which is so sick i dont even want to delve into it), , dude-bros have to , no, NEED TO find ways to get back at her , uh? u rejected naruto? HAHAAH bish u flat
psychos , female charechters exist for girls to feel represented and not to serve as cumdumps for your repulsive incel mastrubatory fetishes.
sakura's own fandom has failed her in this regard with the net being bomabarded with sakura wankers' trying to prove their queen isnt flat, sizing her bosom from multiple angels across multiple panels so that she can finally fulfil her long impending destiny of actualizing the incel cumdump fetish
what is also curious is kishimoto doesnt comment anything on sakura's chest throughout the manga -he does add a panel of naruto's smol pp,and how naruto is insecure about it -NO one in canon says anything about anyone's bosom (excpet that creep jiraiya, but even he spares underage girls) and sakura almost never mentions any insecurity related to her boob size , she is insecure that she has big forehead, she is (perhaps) insecure about her weight that is why she skips her meal. heck even sai the roaster toaster with awfullly bad social boundries doesnt comment on it, but guess what? the fandom and SP does infact SP made a fucking full filler episode which is just sakura wanting big boobs and the comparisons of boobs from various koinichi's ranging from Tsunade, to tenten and ino, to shizune!)
why is this "boob measuring" so unique to sakura(and hinata -ill perhaps make a post on this sometime) why is no other female charecter subjected to this gross misogyny weird boob measuring contest, despite sakura not being the only girl who is flat chested- Tenten , Mikoto Uchiha and Shizune? well for one none of them has outright any interactions on level with naruto , second they dont irk anyone is any way - mikoto is also reduced to the trad sub wife prototype(she is what you'd say harmless, unlike the boisterous sakura, she is soft spoken , tends for the males areound her and doesn't err stand out), tenten and shizune are not even present in the narrative often and when they are , their words wrt to naruto are "safe" - they dont insult the main character , dont reject him dont make him look inferior so their boobs and body are spared
OH! just found another gem
Tumblr media
incase you are unable to read it properly
-Rin is confessing to kakashi
-and half crushed obito is saying "wow bitch"
Yeah Rin !! how tf can you do that! imagine a 12 y/o confessing to her crush before she commits suicide for the "greater good" of her village , OMG !! you're such a bitch how dare you like else someone when my self-projection has a crush on you !!!! the gal!! the the audacity !!my virgin tradwife hinata so much better fr fr

A manga caps cleaning tutorial. requested by @noctemys
Program: photoshop cc2019 but could work on any older or newer versions.
i’ve been working on this and a hard time choosing which cap should i work on, i decided to write it using an easy one to work on and writing the tutorial on, but you could work this one even in more challanging caps to clean! i’ll show examples of different difficulty at the end of this tutorial. i’m still a work on a process when it comes to cleaning caps!
*tip: always try to use a high quality files! i personally like to work on the official files if they’re available. they make a huge difference as seen between this old and newcleaned cap!
step.1 first step is choosing a cap of your choice and crop the panel that you like. mine is from Special A by minami maki.
Tumblr media
step.2 zoom in the cap, i usually go with x800! then using the lasso tool i select all the area i would like to erase and clean! this step could take a long time with some caps that have overlaying background effect with the characters. you could also use the pen tool or the magnet tool, whichever feel more comfortable using.
Tumblr media
step.3 once you finish selecting the whole area you want to clean, with a white color fill the layer with white color!
Tumblr media
step.4 some caps do need to up the contrast in them just like this one, i usually use the levels to increase the blacks and whites by ticking the black point to the left to increase the blackness and the white to the right until i like the result i get. for this one as it leans more to the grey than black i only needed to increase the blackness.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
step.5 some caps aren’t truly in black/white so i just add a gradient black and white!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
step.6 add a new colorfill layer and fill it with #f1f1f1 and set it to multiply. and delete the mask!!!
Tumblr media
step.7 this step could be the last step or will need an extra step to make. and in this case we’ll need the extra step use magic wand tool select the background that i just cleaned you’ll notice the selection will include parts of both hikari’s hair and kei’s face.
Tumblr media
step.8 after deselecting, with a round brush with a grey shade color - my choice is shade is #373737 -, i would zoom in the cap again and notice where the gaps that’s causing the selecting mess is. and while in the cap layers i would redraw those tiny parts… sometimes the gaps are big and there’ll be many gaps.. you could either redraw by the mouse directly if the missing parts are small and tiny or use the pen tool to do that!
Tumblr media
step.9 using the magic wand again select the area you want and select the colorfill layer click the mask icon from the layers box and you’re all set!
Tumblr media
step.9 - optional- a last step i’ve been adding lately to my manga caps edits is adding this texture at the top of layers and lowering its opacity to 8% for a nice little touch!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
the final layer box will look like this.
other cleaned caps before and after: before→ after | before → after | before→ after| before → after
you could add any background you like at the end for a different ending result

Doraemon Movie Review: Nobita's Sky Utopia (2023)
What is Doraemon? The title character of the Doraemon manga and anime is a blue robotic cat from the 22nd Century who keeps an array of high-tech gadgets in a portable pocket dimension on his belly, and has traveled from the future to improve the fortunes of a hapless schoolboy named Nobita. Although relatively obscure in the English-speaking world, Doraemon is a Mickey-Mouse-level cultural icon in East Asia (and some other regions, too). The Doraemon franchise was a big part of my childhood, and there are still elements of it that I enjoy now.
Doraemon has released theatrical films almost annually since 1980, most of which involve Nobita and his friends (kind Shizuka, brash Gian, and crafty Suneo) getting swept into adventures thanks to Doraemon's gadgets. Despite being of potentially broad appeal to fans of science fiction and animated films, there are very few English reviews of the Doraemon movies, so I've embarked on a project to write about all the films, for as long as I continue watching them, at least.
For links to all of my Doraemon movie reviews, see here.
Tumblr media
Movie premise: Nobita thinks life would be much better if he lived in a utopia, and asks Doraemon to help him find one.
My spoiler-free take: Although it could perhaps benefit from minor adjustments to the pacing and writing, this is an emotionally charged movie that is a solid addition to the Doraemon cinematic lineup.
POTENTIAL SPOILERS AFTER THIS POINT
Review: There are quite a few things I enjoyed about this film. The story is well crafted for most part, making effective use of foreshadowing. It's certainly one of the most emotionally driven Doraemon movies, with several heartfelt moments among the characters, especially between Nobita and Doraemon and between Doraemon and the "perfect" robot cat Sonya. Speaking of which, Doraemon being the main protagonist to forge a connection with one of the movie characters is a rare occurrence! Additionally, Sonya himself probably qualifies as one of the more memorable and developed movie-exclusive characters in the franchise.
If I were to criticize anything about this movie, one would be that it's very exposition heavy. I have to wonder whether some of the scenes dedicated to explaining background information and character backstories through dialogue could have been trimmed down just a bit, especially given that there were other elements of the story that could have used the extra runtime. For example, Shizuka, Gian, and Suneo don't get a whole lot of focus this time around.
I do appreciate though that the movie actually highlights one of Shizuka's flaws other than "she plays violin badly"—she can be stubborn, which is true... even if the way it is shown here makes her come across as studious more than anything. The scene where the protagonists come around to embracing their shortcomings is also a well done character moment.
That being said, there are ways in which the central theme of the story (essentially "it's okay not to be perfect") could have been handled with more nuance. After all, Gian and Suneo's misbehavior is regularly shown to cause real harm to others throughout the franchise. I know, there are limits to how deeply one can explore a moral conundrum in a children's film, but I don't believe this would have been too challenging to achieve. Perhaps more emphasis could have been placed on learning to control one's flaws and redirecting them into exacting positive change, contrasting with the villain's plan to forcibly erase all individuality. Glimmers of this are already present in the aforementioned scene, but I think it could have been made more explicit still, which isn't helped by the fact that the main villain only appears in person briefly and barely interacts with the heroes.
On the whole, however, these weaknesses didn't detract much from my viewing experience, and I'd consider this a worthwhile entry in the Doraemon film series.
Star rating: ★★★★☆

Legitimately so much credit to Toei though for the shadow and mirror motif and aesthetic.
Like Dark Yuugi in the manga is mostly associated with being Yuugis doppelganger more than anything else. A double, another "side" or another "face." They don't really play much into his nature as a ghost, mostly for the reveal in Battle City.
The dark games themselves are death games, without much magical nature beyond the occasional illusion. Quite a lot is left ambiguous. Dark Yuugi has a motif of illusion more than shadow. Which makes sense. He himself is an illusion of Yuugi when he's someone else.
But illusion is definitely his made "theme" as a spirit.
Illusions as punishments, Magician of Dark Illusion, Ebon Illusion Magician, Apprentice Illusion Magician, illusion of avarice being his first penalty game. He's associated with being the magician as his tarot card. Not a ghost. His theming is a mage of illusion.
It's Toei that leaned hard into that "dark spirit" idea, creating the incredibly famous idea of Dark Yuugi as Yuugis "shadow," with the golden eyes. It's iconic at this point, seeping into the fandom as something that's just a Thing. Toei also had Yuugi's face reflected in Dark Yuugi's mirror game with Ms Chono, which was later added to Yu-Gi-Oh R.
Yu-Gi-Oh R also pulled a lot of the "inky dark shadow" aesthetic from Toei when it comes to the Wicked Gods, down to Dark Yuugi's "Underworld Deck" and the Wicked God Eraser and Wicked Avatar's appearances. It feels like a love letter to fandom, really.
It's fascinating.

i hope this isn't weird to ask, but I've been taking a bunch of pictures in Splatoon and I kinda want to start editing them, but I currently only have an android phone and no computer, do you have any editing apps you'd recommend? Also any tutorials on how to use them (I have like, very very minor experience in stuff like Photoshop but not much else)
hmmm well i also started out just with my phone so you should be fine!
i don't think my process was the most optimized, but i'll share it anyway.
(this is going to be under a read more since it ended up being long)
I used ibis paint x when i started out, which is a free drawing app available on pretty much every mobile device. It may take some getting used to all the buttons on there(it took me a while to learn) but i would think you could find a tutorial online for the basic functions of everything. The way i learned was by just messing with every button to see what they did and figuring it out slowly from that.
And here are the steps as to how i edited:
take the image you want to make transparent(if you don't want to make your own transparents yet mine are free to use and there are official transparent renders of certain characters as well that you can easily find on inkipedia)
just import it into your new drawing
take the eraser tool and manually erase the background.
If needed: try to redraw any parts that are missing/were obscured by other things in the image(such as items in the foreground or word bubbles if it's a manga panel). this was sort of easy for me to start to get a basic hold of since i draw already. If you don't feel confident with this, just choose an image where the character is fully visible.
In a new layer(underneath the character one), add your background.
In a new layer(above the character one) add any particle affects or the like.
You're finished!
You can also draw extra decorations (like hearts and stars) manually with the brush tool! Make sure it's on a separate layer so as not to permanently affect anything else if you decide you don't like it!
I also think canva may have a mobile app version? I have a paid version of it through someone else that i use on the website version, and i can give a tutorial for how i work in that as well. I don't know how the free version compares, but it should be pretty similar?
In canva i do the following:
select the 500x500 logo option if you want to make an icon, or another size if you want something else.
Press uploads, then upload your picture.
once you have the image you want on your canvas, click on it and select "edit photo"
choose "bg remover" and let it do its thing.
once its done loading, if there are any errors click on bg remover again and fix them with the erase and restore options.
Add a background and extra details and there you go!
I find the last step to be a lot easier in canva since it comes preloaded with a ton of options as long as you know what to look for!
Also note: i DON'T like canvas bg remover tool. it is inaccurate and kinda dumb so i would just do the transparents manually through ibis if i was you. i just dont have any other option rn. If you choose to do the transparents in ibis make sure you click "save image as transparent png" when you are downloading it so you can upload it to canva.
As for how i choose what to do and all that, i can try to explain some things that work for me.
lets use this image of dedf1sh for example:
Tumblr media
lets say i wanted to make an icon with this. what wuld i use for backgrounds and such?
for starters: colors. Take a color that's already on the characters design/associated with them and then look for things that match that color scheme.
so some examples of that:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
some other things to use would be things associated with the character. so for dedf1sh it would be subways, djs, music, the 80s aesthetic of octo expansion, sanitization, etc.
so here's how i would incorporate things like that:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
but just a character and a image can (sometimes) be boring to me, so i like to add extra things as well.
theres always my tried and true: the white shape
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
you can use any shape and any color really, i just default to white squares a lot since i think it looks clean. variations like a neon affect can also be a fun way spruce things up a bit!
borders of all kinds also work well to add some more stuff:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
and extra little shapes like hearts and stars can be fun!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
and things like glitch effects, blurs, monochrome/other color filters, etc can can also make things interesting:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
put all of this together with a theme and you can make some other cool things! stuff like seasons, colors, aesthetics, pride flags, and more can all be fun themes to make things around and thats how i end up with icons like these:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
you can also make things that aren't icons (obviously) but i don't have as much experience with that.. i would just say to try and make sure things feel balanced when working with a bigger canvas? don't have everything cluttered up in one area. and be aware of the sizings of what you are using. you don't want things to end up being too small.
here some examples of other stuff ive done outside the 500 x 500 ratio:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and thats all i can think of to say right now!
i would work first on familiarizing yourself with whatever you choose to work in, and i would look at other people's work to get inspiration as well!
and if anyone else has any suggestions for better/more efficient ways to do any of this feel free to add on! this is just my personal process, and im sure everyone uses something different. so try new things and find what works for you!
(also i am not proofreading all this if there are problmes someone let me know)
(also also if anyone, especially the person who sent the ask, has any questions feel free to ask)
Happy creating and if you ever feel like sharing feel free to tag me!

ROUND 4 MATCH 21: GIOVANNI VS. USAGI
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Giovanni Potage from Epithet Erased faces Usagi Tsukino from Sailor Moon. Who do you like more?
Giovanni Propaganda:
"SOUPSWEEP"
Usagi Propaganda:
"One of the literal most popular characters of all time, but also in my opinion the best protagonist ever written. Kindhearted and loving, powerful and pacifistic. She feels incredibly human and is universally loved in the fandom and across continents in popular culture."
"Girlie is bordering godhood, a reincarnation of a princess of an old moon kingdom, is the strongest in the universe, other people who are also some of the strongest serve her. Yet she's. Still the same person she was in the beginning. She's silly, and despite her kindness and power, she keeps being incredibly goofy.
And despite it all, she's so cringefail!!! Will cry bc a 5 year old got candy and not her, will call it unfair (and that 5 year old is her daughter from the future. Despite her power, she is incredibly human.
And while she is a stereotypical teen girl, and has her own thing about romance going on, the ultimate focus of her life is being Sailor Moon. It is protection not only of the Earth and the human world, but the universe entirely.

Lastly, I've seen some people mention that Norma is bisexual for their propaganda, but so is Usagi! Yes, she ends up with Mamoru, however throughout the series and the manga she develops numerous crushes on women. Haruka, the character above, is one of the examples. She also very commonly remarks on other women's attractiveness throughout the series.
And while the anime (especially 90s version) hid Usagi's queerness, the original manga shows many instances of her crushing on girls.
Lastly, no matter if you're a die hard Sailor Moon fan or someone who watched Sailor Moon as a kid, her cultural impact is undeniable. Sailor Moon is one of the most iconic, one of the best written, characters ever created. She led to the modern resurgence of currently popular pop culture themes such as first love, personalification of celestial bodies, powerful women in media, fashion trends from the 90s to today. And while several characters had wonderful style, Usagi's was the most influential of them all:
She influenced 90s comeback, high chromatic clothing, preppy style sweaters and crop tops, full pastel, big cropped denim jackets on top of preppier styles, and overall femme styles.
Her influence also shines through fansites that have been running for decades.
That's all that really comes to mind, so vote Sailor Moon RIGHT NOW!!!"

Hiro Mashima’s deplorable shtick
Topic of today: Wendy Marvell and Rule 34
As we know Wendy is a main cast member in fairy tail. She is frequently posted with Team Natsu and treated as an icon, which in itself is not a problem. The main issue arises from the publicity that comes with the trope of being an older character while still having the appearance of an underage child. Wendy canonically speaking is 400 years old, which is why artist including Mashima and Ueda get away with fetishizing her character. This gives other artists the ok to draw her under rule 34 soliciting her in a sexual nature. Mavis vermilion is in a similar predicament of age dysmorphia, the difference being that Mavis does not age but is treated like the much older wiser person that she is even as an apparition. Wendy however does age, but still has a youthful appearance because of the time bubble. She just doesn’t get treated the same way Mavis does because it isn’t clear that Wendy is from a relative time period and isn’t a spirit like Mavis. In the beginning Wendy was posted as being only twelve years old and was treated as such, from her appearance to other characters treating her as if she were the younger naive sister. Comments are thrown around about her growing into her clothes, or protecting her sight and hearing from mature situations such as; loke talking about sex, nudity of numerous characters, and even just talking about being in the same bed. They allow her to drink alcohol after all the fuss of protecting her “innocence”, but when things start to pick up in battle she is treated as a full fledged adult again . She deals with healing the heavily injured or fending off enemies that are triple in size compared to her physically small stature. Which in continuously being mocked and pointed out. Speaking of her stature, one of Mashimas infamous gags is to write about her chest size. It does nothing to drive the plot and even if it is a joke it comes off as creepy and derogatory. In one instillation of this moment about her being young and small during the Tartaros arc, pedophilic implications of Mest Gryder ( come on even his name feels like an arbitrary choice) being interested in young women appears as the main cast is shrunken down from a spell that was cast on Erza. He is blushing and appears during the statement of Jellal saying he is ‘not interested in little girls.’ This moment is also backed up by Mest being flustered again (during the Alvarez arc) while he sees Wendy and Carla helping children find there parents. He refers to her as an “angel”. It’s not set evidence of him enacting on any of his strange behavior but it is clear that Mashima used these moments as some nasty satire to make light on a serious topic like pedophilia, only for him to cover it up as if Mest and Wendy have a friendly close relationship, when really Mests subplot relied on him gaining his memories back after being inclined to erase them. Wendy being the one to help him get accepted back into the guild. It pushes the line between friendly admiration and uncomfortable attraction.
It is conclusive that Mashima should have the resources to help him write better story plots, he has bitten off more than he can chew coming up with Edenz zero, Ft100yq, illustrating characters for a game, as well as the recently released manga Dead Rock. Fairy tail is probably his most well known work and what boosted his career after Rave master. It deserves a better conclusion and more care and consideration put into the characters he created. It would not only lessen his workload, it would also help refresh the characters that we would like to see elaborated on considering they are important to his story.

👽👽👽👽for taylor?!?@??
Hi cookies and thanks for the asks! :) Time for ranger teen shenanigans ✨️
---
👽Weird Quirk headcanons
Taylor likes to wrap his demon tail around things. This usually means wrapping his tail around one leg or around his cane when sitting down. He has attempted to try and pick up stuff with his tail. This was unsuccessful since, much like a cat or dog tail, the tail isn't strong enough to do that. Easy to knock stuff down though.
The teen also has a habit of patting stuff. He pats people's shoulders or backs, pats dirt off his clothes, or pats a chair before sitting down in it. It's less due to the sound and more for the feeling of touching something (textures).
Taylor has several canes and atleast two of them are sword canes. One of these sword canes is up on his bedroom wall as decoration. However, only the sword part is up there and the hollow base is for candy/snack storage. He put a different handle on it and uses it at school, on Halloween, and sometimes conventions if he's sneaky enough.
He loves doodling, especially in class--helps him focus or atleast keeps him entertained if he's abandoned the work or finished it early in class. He uses his nifty set of glittery gel pens to draw colorful flames on his notebook paper. If not flames, the anime lover will draw those rose petals, sparkles, or action lines that are often used in anime and manga backgrounds. Though sometimes he writes his name over and over on various scraps of paper, in a different style and color palette each time instead. When he shares a class with his friends, Taylor likes carefully folding paper planes to toss to them. He tends to ask seemingly random questions, sometimes related to the game he is playing that week.
Bonus one! He has a few pockets and patches sewn into the inside of his jacket. Probably has stickers, spare bandaids, small pencils/pens, and extra erasers in there. He stocked the jacket as an emergency measure against forgetting his go-bag. His erasers are usually the character-shaped ones (often disney). Whenever a friend needs an eraser or pencil, he is ready to deliver. It just looks a bit weird trying to smoothly dig into his jacket and slide something to them.

how do you color the manga panels for icons?
Tumblr media
Hi Juno ^-^ I'll be walking through this using Kenma (Haikyuu) and the catkintism flag. Also, I'm not going to do like, full detail for manga coloring because these are pride icons and I'm not getting into shading or color theory.
What you will need:
An editing/art software that allows you to change the layer type
A manga panel/icon
A flag, in this example we will be using the catkintism flag
Color reference for the character
Step one: Getting ready the manga panel.
Tumblr media
We usually start off with something like this: the manga panel in a square, and with a green layer below it.
Note: At this stage you should remove the background/outlines of your image, I forgot to in this so I did it later but here is the best stage to do it.
Next make sure that the image is selected and head over to the side panel that says 'Normal'
Tumblr media
You will then get a long list of image types I can't really explain too well. But you want to select the one that says 'multiply'- this gets rid of the white parts of the image.
It should look like this:
Tumblr media
Step two: Ready your colors.
We use a combonation of the original character colors and the flag colors, so for example Kenma's hair is yellow and black but there is no yellow on the flag, I have the option to use the most yellow looking color, but we'll see if that looks okay later.
His shirt is usually red, so again, I'll keep his shirt red.
You can get these colors by pasting the images into the image and using the eyedropper/color drop to select the color.
Next you need to make a new layer under the manga outline and then you just... Color in!
This is the result of our first layer of color!
Tumblr media
Tips and tricks for this stage:
Make new layers for every 'object' (ie, undershirt, overshirt, whites of the eyes, the iris, ect)
A lot of manga will have gaps between lines, this is fine, you can work around this with difficulty (at least we find it difficult lmao).
Fuck around with the colors, you can change them later if needed
Keep in mind the manga character will look like Shrek for a while, possibly even with the color they will look... Off. This is normal.
Step four: Refine.
This is what it sounds like, looking over the image, changing things, turning the green background on and off, erasing lines that shouldn't be there and/or color that's fallen out of said lines.
This is how ours looks after:
Tumblr media
Step five: Put it into the icon
You need to save it as a PNG (will save the background as a transparent) and imput it into the icon, then do what you need to make it whatever shape you want.
Tumblr media
This is it, so you are now free to save this as a transparent and live freely! Your icon is done!
Bonus step: Coloring the black lines
Now I've done my usual icon things and put it into an icon. I don't think the black lines look right, ofc you can keep them but for me they're too harsh.
So I'm going to add a layer, make it a clipping mask (this means it will only effect the layer below it) and then add a whole color, I try to go with one that makes sense (ie white wouldn't make sense but the dark brown might) and then fill the whole layer with this color
Next I change the layer type, usually I'll go for 'screen' or 'lighten', but it depends on what I'm looking for.
The icon will then get a slight coloring to the color and the lines will change from black to the color you want. Of course you can change the layer opacity to mess around with the color some more, but I'm happy with this:
Tumblr media
And there you go! Your icon is now done :D
