My goals for the year include trying to wear lolita more often, more casually, and being less picky about "perfect" coords. I've noticed that I will skip wearing lolita if I feel like I don't have every exact piece I want to wear ready, or don't feel like wearing heels, or don't want to wear wrist cuffs, or some other small excuses. So I'm trying to break that habit and get back to wearing lolita once a week at least!

I didn't quite make it for January (my garage door exploded, I've taken up gardening, the weather has been stupid hot, and some other things went wrong with my plans), so I'll be doing my best to continue with February.

Outfit one: Sheglit OP, Forever 21 bolero, Innocent World socks and hair clips (not visible, sorry), Windsor Smith sneakers and Michiko Cat itabag

So I bought this parasol right before Lumiebre closed. It's a collaboration with Enchantlic Enchantilly. I decided "that OP comes up secondhand often enough that I can find it later!"

And then I never saw that OP secondhand ever again. lmao

I've missed the re-releases for this series every time in black for one reason or another, but decided that this time, I'm not going to to let it pass me by.

Technically this isn't the right colourway (it's red instead of black). But it's close enough (and I think even prettier, tbh) that it'll work with the parasol just fine. Also, it has the gorgeous new sash design they've been using for this print, and I really like that detail.

Tsukino-con last weekend! We decided to do a day where we all wore matching outfits.

I'm in the middle, my friend K is on the left, and my partner is on the right. His tumblr account seems to have been hacked or something so I won't tag it. Afaik K has never had an account here.

This was a challenging day, but we looked cool!

K is in a whole bunch of Alice and the Pirates, hair accessories from Claire's, and a parasol from Whale Fall. Cuffs are from Metamorphose.

I'm in Atelier Pierrot, Enchantlic Enchantilly, BabySSB, whale fall, Claire's hair stuff, and an offbrand blouse. Wig is from Cyperous, but I've restyled it. Brooch made by a friend.

My partner is wearing his own shirt, pants, and boots. Vest and hat are AATP, accessories are angelic pretty and atelier pierrot.

EGL London spring tea meet at the Tea House Theatre today. This cafe was an absolute delight, in no small part thanks to the two resident cats. I got a cream tea and the scone was huge! Definitely got my money's worth with that one. The weather was surprisingly nice after all the rain we've had; I didn't even need my coat! My coord is all BTSSB aside from offbrand shoes and rings from Enchantlic Enchantilly and Osewaya.

I went to 本むら庵 (Honmuraan), a sobaya from 1924, with Iona (who handled my camera this time) and Mia. When you said classic lolita and rabbits, the first thing that came to mind was Enchantlic Enchantilly’s Queen Rabbit series. It has bunnies wearing crowns and they’re even sitting in little teacups!! Also, I think those things surrounding them are supposed to be sugar cubes shaped like different playing card suits? do you have any store recommendations for plus size gothic lolita fashion? i really appreciate the help on your first post about it and i’ve thought a lot about what kind of style i want to focus on. thank you for everything, love!

sorry this took me a while to get to anon!!! here are a couple of recs;

lady sloth - err a little more on the cutesy side of gothic, but still plenty of wearable pieces; their size range is also pretty inclusive!

violet fane - currently don't have anything particularly gothic in because their last pieces weren't that style, but i would recommend looking secondhand on places like lace market for their pieces like, say, asylum or the funeral!

fan plus friend - better if you know what you're doing; lots of their pieces are hit and miss - but they do offer custom sizing and lots of their stuff is nice, as long as you have the eye to pick it out!

metamorphose - a 'brand' brand - but if you CAN afford them, theyre one of very few jp brands that are actively working with their plus size customer base and deserve to be supported! they do a lot of sweet and classic stuff too. my ultimate favourite brand.

other jp brands that offer a good range of sizes in that style: atelier pierrot (who also try and reach out to their plus size customer base as well!), maxicimam lovely size (err on the side of sweet-gothic but nice black base pieces can be found), enchantlic enchantilly, physical drop.

you can always look for things you like that may not be in stock by brands that are more known for their size inclusion on lolibrary, too - and then hunt them down in the secondhand market! lolita brands tend to make small batches of things and then sell all of that, so the secondhand market is super important for us (and sometimes a good way to get a bargain, because lolita IS expensive, unfortunately, and i actually find that what little gothic pieces we own have been more expensive than our sweet wardrobe!).

do NOT buy via devilinspired; they've had a lot of awful press for inflated prices, sharing customer's personal informations, and just bad customer service in general. BUT. you can use their website to browse taobao brands that may fit the vibe you're looking for who you either fit in the sizing of or who do custom sizing!

gothic is a nice style because you can often simply pad out your wardrobe with things from 'normie' stores or goth stores - black lace high collar blouses, victorian style boots, fancy antique style jewelry!
