My goals for the year include trying to wear lolita more often, more casually, and being less picky about "perfect" coords. I've noticed that I will skip wearing lolita if I feel like I don't have every exact piece I want to wear ready, or don't feel like wearing heels, or don't want to wear wrist cuffs, or some other small excuses. So I'm trying to break that habit and get back to wearing lolita once a week at least!

I didn't quite make it for January (my garage door exploded, I've taken up gardening, the weather has been stupid hot, and some other things went wrong with my plans), so I'll be doing my best to continue with February.

Every year I go on a double date with my partner and some friends of mine (we go to IKEA; it started as an accidental tradition and now we go every year).

I was watching the recent Fashion Week show with Baby when my partner asked me why I don't wear sweet lolita since I seem to really like it, so I decided this year I'd wear old school sweet lolita for our date!

My reds don't match (these are the only red shoes that I still own and work for sweet, wtf?!) but this dress is super nostalgic. I wore this headdress with it for my first real meet-up way back in 2008! I have such fond memories of this dress and now I'm adding another to the photo album in my head (and this blog).

The socks are also sliiiightly modified just for today. I changed out the white ribbon to put in red since I think it's a little more fun than solid white. Also just for funsies, this is the photo of my first coord with the dress from August 2008. I hosted a meet-up at the local zoo.

I was uh. Much tanner back then.
