Rewatching Chambers and Regif-ing some of my favorite Elliott scenes 2/?

One (1) man is trying to kill queer people this month.

At least queer people are trying to kill him in both films [emotionally (including himself as his own character) in one and physically in the other].

... Or ...

The universe: We need, not one, but two groundbreaking queer films like the world has never seen before to come out this month.

Nick: I have to be in both, and I have to be the emotional powerhouse in one, and the comedic heel in the other.

The universe: You don't have to.

Nick: Four words for you: Cinderella and Purple Hearts.

The universe: You're right, take it away, sir.

Nick currently can't talk about the queer awesomeness that's being released with him as featured this month so I will.

By the way, I highly recommend High Strung, Handsome Devil (where he also played a queer character), and “Chambers” (where his character's queerness was up debate) from what I've seen from his résumé, but “Chambers” is trippy (in addition to its storyline's itself), because his mother there goes from that to his mother-in-law with Red, White, And Royal Blue (he also played a queer character in the mess that was The Craft: Legacy).

starting early today so no tags. poked at my untitled elliott x marco wip a little this morning before i do some more disaster editing.

Coach Jones appears out of nowhere, grabbing Elliott by the shoulder, making him tense up immediately. Marco can feel the waves of discomfort coming off of him. Coach Jones’s thumb is pressing into the base of Elliott’s neck in a way that makes Marco feel like shoving him off of him.  “Is Elliott doing a good job of getting you settled, Marco?” he asks, looking over at him.  Marco takes a step towards him, forcing Coach to back out of his space a bit, enough to make him take his hand off of Elliott. Marco shifts his weight so he’s between them almost.  “Oh, yeah, he’s been great. Best first day I’ve ever had. We were just talking about the biology report. If you’ll excuse us, we were just getting into a plan to work on it.”

elliott lefevre is such a mess.

he can’t drive. he heavily relies on uber. he wears shirts like he wants to drown in them. he wears a dumb sun hat when he does his community service. he has an unhealthy addiction to starburst. he also has an unhealthy addiction to heroin. he’s admitted to a bunch of strangers that he wants to kill everyone but himself. he likes cookie crisp. his sister is dead. his sister also stabbed him with a pair of scissors. he hates his best friend because he hooked up with his sister. he probably is in love with a girl who has his sister’s heart and is already in a committed relationship. his dad is insane. his mom is crazy. he’s forced to go into a cult version of rehab because he was drugged.

but that’s babygirl!

Edit: feel the need to clarify that i'm just making a character of nick's likeness and can't decide on his hair color; not trying to start an existential discussion or anything.

Oh I'm so glad to see someone talking about Chambers! I really liked the show overall but Elliott's character just broke my heart. At first I felt kind of intrigued by him because clearly there was supposed to be some kind of darkness to him but by the end I just wanted to grab him and take him away someplace safe. That scene in the 5th episode with that counselor guy (I forget his name) makes me so mad. I know the guy turned out to be a villain but it really annoyed me how he was so cold and condescending to Elliot. You can really tell that Elliot is really just a kid who's going through hell and has nobody in his corner. Even his mom seems to be kind of distant from his despite being the nicest adult in his life. If we had gotten more of the show, I personally would have preferred Eliot and Sasha to stay friends and to see more of Elliot's relationship with his twin who his parents clearly favored

Yes! I absolutely agree with all of this!

The incredibly complicated relationship dynamics between Elliot and his parents were a really fascinating aspect to his story for me. There were some great scenes between Elliot and his mom that stuck out to me: the one in the car in episode 4 and the various POV scenes between them in episode 8 especially. Nicholas and Uma had such great familial chemistry. It's fun that they both ended up in RWRB years later!

And I also would've loved to see Elliott and Sasha getting time to really become friends. Kick some cult ass together. then maybe some group therapy for all.
