ECUADOR ERUPTS INTO VIOLENCE AND CHAOS AFTER CARTELS DECARE "WAR ON THE STATE", ARMED FORCES OF ECUADOR DEPLOY TROOPS
A State of Emergency was declared by the Ecuadorian President after a series of terrorist attacks, prison riots and kidnappings exploded into a day of chaos, after drug cartels declared "War on the State".
After a series of explosions, abductions of police officers, prison riots, the escape of a notorious gang leader from a high-security prison, and the storming of a live-tv broadcast of channel TC by gang members waving firearms and accosting television crews, the President of Ecuador declared a State of Emergency Wednesday, determining 22 of the nation's most prominent gangs to be terrorist organizations, announcing that the South American country was experiencing "internal armed conflict," and issueing a decree that included a curfew, which the gangs immediately violated.
Videos showing prison guards being subdued and killed have gone viral, while the search for "The Cheneros" gang leader, Jose Macias (aka Fito), goes on as the elusive criminal with ties to Mexican cartels evades capture.
Meanwhile, an explosive device was detonated in the vicinity of the residence of Ecuadorian Supreme Court President, Ivan Saquicela, in the Ecuadorian capital, Quito, and several police officers have been kidnapped across the country.
Riots also broke out in several cities, with scenes of running crowds escaping explosions and gunfire, cars burning in the streets, the looting of warehouses, and the destruction of public infrastructure.
Several videos have also gone viral showing the assassination of police officers and prison guards.
The rioting Ecuadorian criminal organizations killed two police officers, Corporals Alex Taday and Luis Guanotuña in Nobol, located in the Guayas province.
In response to the violence, the Armed Forces of Ecuador have been mobilized, with troops deploying in several cities across the country in areas where riots and looting have broken out over the last day.
Reports from Ecuadorian Forces say more than 70 people tied to the violence and others with links to criminal enterprises have been detained, while three police officers being held hostage have been released.
The Armed Forces of Ecuador also added that 17 escaped prisoners were re-captured, adding that they had also seized weapons, ammunition and explosives from the armed groups.
Meanwhile, the Ecuadorian legislature announced blanket pardons and amnesties related to operations targeting the drug traffickers.
The President's decree determined the following organizations to be "terrorist organizations and belligerent non-state actors":
Aguilas, AguilasKiller, Ak47, Caballeros Oscuros, ChoneKiller, Choneros, Corvicheros, Cuartel de las Feas, Cubanos, Fatales, Ganster, Kater Piler, Lagartos, Latin Kings, Los Lobos, Los p.27, Los Tiburones, Mafia 18, Mafia Trebol, Patrones, R7 and Tiguerones.

Curious about the connection between "Giant snake 'discovered' in Ecuador on Disney+ show" to "indigenous group allows access to their territory in order to share their knowledge of giant snake" to "Ecuador indigenous peoples protesting horrible treatment by government."
Would the snake be getting attention if it wasn't a Disney production? Would this snake be "discovered" if the Huaorani people had not offered their knowledge? Would they have offered their knowledge of something they've known about for ages if money or some kind of international security from wildlife organizations was not on the table? Who suddenly decided "hey, let's tell the media/scientific community about our giant snake" and what were the motives behind that?

Ecuador reconsidered sending arms to Ukraine
Ecuador’s Foreign Minister Gabriela Sommerfeld announced on Monday that the country was not planning to send Soviet-era weapons to Ukraine amid disagreements with Moscow over banana and flower exports.
Ecuador will not send any war material to a country that is involved in an international armed conflict.
President Daniel Noboa stated in January that the country had agreed to swap obsolete military equipment for new US weapons worth about $200 million.
Ecuador planned to send six Russian military helicopters, long-range missile launchers and air defence systems to the United States to be subsequently delivered from the US to Ukraine. In exchange, Ecuador was to receive modern weapons to fight local drug trafficking gangs.
In response to Ecuador’s Foreign Ministry statement, Russia criticised the decision and banned the import of some Ecuadorian bananas and flowers, citing the detection of a harmful humpback fly in those goods. Ecuador is considered the world’s largest exporter of bananas and one of the largest exporters of flowers, mainly roses.

‼️🇲🇽🇪🇨 Mexico has suspended diplomatic ties with Ecuador after Ecuadorian police forcibly stormed Mexico’s embassy.
🔹 Translation correction: Right after Roberto Canseco says “There is no basis to do it”, a journalist asks “Were there any previous warnings? Was it known that this could happen?”, to which Canseco responds “No, this is totally… it’s outside every norm.”
🔸 Source: Al Jazeera
Mexican citizen here. I want to say that this was allowed to happened because Israel has set the antecedent that, if an embassy is attacked, international law won’t do anything.
🇮🇱🇵🇸
If it wasn’t obvious already that the Palestine genocide and all issues surrounding it are our problem as well, then I hope this clarifies that yes, what Israel does concerns us too. Israel marks hospitals as targets, so hospitals will be attacked in future conflicts. Israel marks embassies as targets, and so, our embassy was attacked.
And even if it didn’t affect us, and even if what Israel does had no effect at all outside of Palestinian territory, it is still our obligation as dignified people to support our palestinian brothers.
I stand with Palestine because I am Mexican. But above all, I stand with Palestine because I am HUMAN.

Armed people try to kidnap people in a university, everyone runs in panic
Group of students and a teacher making a barricade inside a classroom
Prisoners take hostages in a jail after riots

"A coral reef with flourishing marine life has been discovered off Ecuador's Galapagos Islands.
A scientific expedition traced the 1.2-mile-long (2km) reef to the top of an underwater mountain formed by volcanic activity - 400m (1,300ft) deep.
Ecuador's environment minister, Jose Davalos, said the exploration team "found the first totally pristine coral reef... on the summit of a submarine mountain".
The previously unknown underwater colony comes as a surprise to scientists, who believed only one reef existed in the volcanic archipelago - Wellington - along the coast of the tiny Darwin Island.
Reefs in the area were severely degraded during El Niño weather in 1982-83 when the ocean surface warmed to devastating levels.
However, the newly discovered reef survived the event and has more than 50% living coral.
Mr. Davalos tweeted: "Galapagos surprises us again."
Tumblr media
Senior marine researcher at the Charles Darwin Foundation and expedition participant, Stuart Banks, said: "This is very important at a global level because many deepwater systems are degraded."
He added the coral dated back several thousand years.
Ecuador expanded the Galapagos marine reserve by more than 20,000 square miles last year to protect endangered migratory species between the archipelago and Cocos Island in Costa Rica. Many endangered animals live on the islands including giant tortoises, albatrosses and cormorants."

Last night, special forces of the Ecuadorian Police broke into the Mexican embassy in Quito, by direct orders of the president Daniel Noboa, in order to arrest former left wing president and convicted criminal Jorge Glass, wanted for corruption charges and sentenced to 8 years in prison, who back in December, taking advantage of a bond release, fled to the Mexican embassy seeking asylum, claiming the charges against him were politically motivated.
This after Mexico’s president, Lopez Obrador, made inflammatory comments regarding the murder of Ecuadorian presidential candidate Fernando Villavicencio, effectively implying his death was orchestrated by people close to Noboa in order to win him the election, which in turn confirmed Ecuadorian fear that the asylum request would be granted, as up to last night, Glas hadn’t been granted one, but was still allowed to stay inside the embassy.
Since 1980, this is the first time a Latin American government breaks into an embassy, something completely prohibited under international law.
