It’s New Year.

Just a few hours left for me.

And my country is bombing another country.

And yesterday one of our cities was bombed in response.

Our propaganda never shows any images of Ukrainian streets on fire.

Because they call them all “fakes”.

And people are regularly arrested for spreading “fakes”.

For saying anything against the war.

For even calling it “war”.

For going out on the streets with an empty sheet of paper.

A girl was sentenced to 7 years in prison for putting anti-war stickers on price tags in a store.

While murderers and rapists are being freed from prisons, sent to war and given amnesty when they come back.

Along with a status of “Heroes” for doing what they do best in another country.

An orthodox priest who raped children was given a suspended sentence and is still free.

While government preaches for “christian values” and calls LGBT movement an extremist organisation.

And this attack on one of our cities.

It won’t be delivered by our propaganda as a call to stop the war.

No, just the opposite, to intensify the attack on Ukraine in return.

Our government doesn’t care about children who died in this city.

Just as it doesn’t care about the ukranian children.

Because it NEVER cared for common people.

They say that the main reason for war is the oppression of russian-speaking citizens in Eastern Ukraine.

And while I met and talked to many of the refugees from there

You don’t fucking save people by killing and putting at a huge risk MUCH MORE PEOPLE.

Ironically enough, our government supports Palestine.

Which is good, but also what a fucking hypocrisy.

It’s mainly because America supports Israel, while also supporting Ukraine.

And what a fucking joke this whole geopolitical situation is.

Two of the hugest forces play chess with each other using other countries and their citizens as figures on the board.

And make money on people’s deaths.

Hey, America, why don’t you, fucking, I don’t know, assassinate our politicians, starting with the main psychopath??? If you want the war to stop so much?????

Why don’t politicans just go one on one UFC style and we all will watch and see who wins, like Remark suggested in his book about WW1???

Why start fucking WW3?

It feels so incredibly weird, watching and reading scenes about wars in TGCF.

They are perfectly depicted, you know.

It felt so striking, to watch Yong An and Xian Le people live happily together in the 9th Episode.

I hope one day we’ll be able to end up like this again as well.

But I have no hopes for tomorrow.

It’s gonna be centuries untill Russia might be able to live in peace with the world.

Just because one psychopath decided to go in history forever.

And if other psychopaths will ever let us live in peace.

Because every single participant of this war does not give a fuck about people.

I don’t believe they do.

Because they have power.

They could’ve stopped it.

They could’ve never let it happen.

And we?

We can’t. We can’t decide anything in this totalitarian fucking country.

Tell me, what can I do? What can I do to make this next year better?

I used to be a journalist.

I hoped my words could reach people.

They never did.

But I hope this little post just might reach… i don’t know, at least someone.

Will it make a difference?

Can anything make a difference?

Tell me, people of the free world.

The irretrievable losses also encompass 62,000 missing persons, prisoners, and disabled individuals.

▪️ In addition, 864,374 individuals were temporarily out of service.

🔻 Therefore, the total losses of Ukrainian forces exceed 1.4 million people.

Russia formally expanding ambitions in Ukraine

The deputy chairman of the Security Council and former Russian president, Dmitry Medvedev, presented a “new” map of Eastern Europe, which showed parts of present-day Ukraine within other nations, according to Russian media.

Vinnytsia Oblast could become part of Romania, Uzhhorod could go to Hungary, Poland would get Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk and Zhytomyr, while the rest of the regions would join Russia, according to Medvedev’s map.

Transnistria, a part of Moldova that recently asked Russia for “protection”, would also be counted as part of Russia, the map suggested. According to Medvedev, Ukraine would retain only a small territory with its centre in Kyiv.

“Russia needs to follow its current path. The historical parts of the country [Ukraine] should return home.”

Rosyjski neonazista z Woroneża i były członek ultraprawicowego gangu Format 18 Artem "Uragan" Krasnolucki , który walczył po stronie Ukrainy, został zabity w trakcie działań bojowych. 20 kweitnia poinformowały o tym źródła rosyjskie, a informacja ta została później potwierdzona przez skrajnie prawicowego blogera Vladislava Pozdnyakova. Kanał Uragana nie był aktualizowany od 11 marca.

Artem Krasnolutsky to znany neonazista z gangu Maksima "Tesaka" Martsinkiewicza, wcześniej członek NSO-Triglav Woroneż, który był dwukrotnie sądzony w Rosji. W 2011 roku został skazany na sześć miesięcy kolonii karnej za kilkukrotne pchnięcie nożem w dyskotece w Kałaczu. W 2015 r. porwał mężczyznę i postrzelił go w nogi. W tej sprawie w 2018 r. został skazany na 8 lat kolonii o zaostrzonym rygorze, ale "Uragan" uciekł z sądu i trafił do Grupy "Wagner". Pierwszym, który tam trafił, był jego brat Władysław, który wyjechał do Syrii i zginął tam rok wcześniej. Na krótko przed rosyjską inwazją na Ukrainę Kransolucki uciekł z Rosji. Podobno inny znany rosyjski neonazista, Siergiej "Botsman" Korotkicz pomógł mu przenieść się do Ukrainy. Jednak po rozpoczęciu wojny stosunki między Uraganem i Botsmanem zepsuły się do tego stopnia, że Uragan zagroził zabiciem swojego byłego towarzysza broni. Po rozpoczęćiu wojny "Uragan" został prawdopodobnie zwerbowany przez SBU.

Russian neo-Nazi "Uragan" was killed in Ukraine.

Russian neo-Nazi from Voronezh and former member of the ultra-right Format 18 gang, Artem "Uragan" Krasnolucki, who fought on the side of Ukraine, was killed during combat operations. Russian sources reported this on April 20, and this information was later confirmed by far-right blogger Vladislav Pozdnyakov. Uragan's channel has not been updated since March 11.

Artem Krasnolutsky is a known neo-Nazi from the gang of Maksim "Tesak" Martsinkevich, previously a member of NSO-Triglav Voronezh, who was tried twice in Russia. In 2011, he was sentenced to six months in a penal colony for stabbing him several times in a disco in Kalach. In 2015, he kidnapped a man and shot him in the legs. In this case, in 2018, he was sentenced to 8 years in a high-security colony, but "Uragan" escaped from the court and ended up in the "Wagner" Group. The first to get there was his brother Władysław, who went to Syria and died there a year earlier. Shortly before the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Kransolyotsky fled Russia. Another famous Russian neo-Nazi, Sergei "Botsman" Korotkich, reportedly helped him move to Ukraine. However, once the war began, relations between Uragan and Botsman soured to the point that Uragan threatened to kill his former comrade in arms. After the war began, "Uragan" was probably recruited by the SBU.

I found this monument suddenly last autumn in a Finnish forest. There were still fresh candles.

"Ukraine prays for fallen souls." In Finnish, fallen means someone who died in the war.

The monument is in memory of Finnish Winter War between 1939-1940.

The Soviet Union sent Ukrainians as cannon fodder against the Finns with poor equipment. Many of the Ukrainians came here only to freeze to death. At that time the temperature was at its worst -40 degrees. Nothing has changed in Russia's actions.

According to a video published by Ukrainian sources, Ukrainian Forces who were sent to their positions in the trench networks, while digging into their positions, came across the buried remains of an estimated 200 Ukrainian soldiers who had been listed as "missing" by the Ukrainian General Staff.

According to the video, the soldiers were digging into their positions when they dug up the remains of 200 of their comrades. It is clear from the banter of the uncomfortable soldiers that the General Staff had buried the soldiers and simply sent the next unit to hold the position.

EU agrees to move forward on use of Russian assets for Ukraine

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has said that the leaders of the EU member states have agreed to allocate to Ukraine the proceeds from frozen Russian assets subject to EU sanctions and their implementation is expected this summer.

At the end of the first day of the EU summit in Brussels, von der Leyen commented on EU decisions on Ukraine. She announced on Thursday that leaders had endorsed a proposal by EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and foreign policy chief Josep Borrell, saying:

“This will provide funding for military equipment to Ukraine.”

It expects about 3 billion euros ($3.25 billion) in 2024 and similar amounts in subsequent years, von der Leyen said. If the proposal is finalised quickly, the first 1 billion euros could be transferred as early as 1 July.

Second post about AUs:

Is it just me or did the author of Shadow and Bone, just pick a completely random real world location to adapt her story from? It’s supposed to take place in some alternate version of Russia, but there’s hardly anything Russian about it other than the ethnic descriptions for the characters, but only in the books… there’s some vague political and cultural parallels but it’s so bad that the author didn’t even bother to research something so simple such as Slavic naming conventions… it should be Alina Starkova NOT Starkov. Barely any of the show characters are even Eastern European. I know there’s a Bulgarian actor, but literally everyone else is British, American, and just incredibly racially diverse for no reason at all. I don’t even remember if this school or military training program that Alina and co are in is an international school/organization or whatever, but it literally makes no sense that there’s barely any real Russian or Slavic representation at all, and that it looks more like an urban American population than that of any Eastern European nation. I get the six of crow aren’t tied to any one specific country, so I’m not talking about that. Just the fact that it’s really sad and makes me angry that east euros get really bad and inaccurate representation or we’re just seen as criminals and mafia, nothing more. We should do more to represent ourselves in media and not rely on some ignorant American media company to “represent” us, but regardless, it still pisses me off. Like why even pick countries like ours if the majority of westerners do not even give a rat’s ass about us or deliberately hate us and spread anti Slavic nonsense.

People like what they like, but it just makes me sad that Hollywood has all this money and shit, but they don’t even bother to do proper research about a culture, and on top of that make pointless diversity hires and call it representation while also completely misrepresenting the people that this series is supposed to show in the first place. Hollywood isn’t the only thing at fault here too. Ignorant people like the author who just don’t do any research. I’m so so tired of it. We’re not asking you to try to represent us, literally not a soul is asking the west to represent us but if you do it, have the decency to do it in a respectful manner…

At least with ASOIAF, Martin stayed grounded to what he understands of history. Yes, I genuinely believe the north could be seen as Eastern European, combined with some Celtic ( Scottish) inspirations, but Martin leaves it generally open for the viewer to understand that Westeros is based off of Europe in a more generic but still incredibly relatable way without offending any ethnic group from Europe. Dorne could be seen as Spanish specifically during the Arab invasions, but it’s honestly its own thing, the characters don’t even have Spanish or Arab names. Their clothes aren’t really even described as typical to Spanish or North African cultures. They just have vague surface level similarities, unlike the world of shadow and bone which seems to rely too much on the REAL Russia as a inspiration while at the same time just being incredibly inaccurate which sounds ridiculous and ironic but it’s true. Shadow and bone is nothing but a failed attempt of an alternate reality.
