I had the privilege of knowing her since 2017-18. Amazing person. She was so articulate, funny, caring, generous, gracious, and so much more. It hurt deep in my soul hearing the news via her husband. I can’t make it make sense how such pure malice can exist in the world, but Diana persevered her whole life, and was the one light in the darkness that gave you hope. For the good people in your life, it is never “Goodbye,” but “See you later.” Rest easy, Diana. Slava Ukraini.

paints MOTANKA
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Marta Pitchuk born in lvano-Frankivsk, Ukraine. She paints MOTANKA. The motanka doll is an ancient Ukrainian talisman of protection which was made by mothers for their children with warmth and care.
The paintings show how the inanimate doll of previous centuries steps into the present and merges into one with a real-life woman in flesh and blood. The living Motanka is no longer an object but a personality with its own character, thoughts and views. It is the embodiment of the past which came to life on canvas.
When working on the image of the Motanka, the artist paints the doll's face meticulously, paying attention to detail, and then she covers it with threads. This is done to give Motanka a soul. She becomes not only a beautiful image, but also a profound personality with her own emotions and feelings. If you look closely, you can see the woman's eyes beneath a layer of paint. Strokes of the paint move cyclically, imitating the way in which the traditional doll is created. The pictures are painted on a dark background which emphasize a depth, creating a mysterious atmosphere and a feeling of intimacy as if you were alone with the Motanka.
The paintings depict elements of the traditional Ukrainian garments; however, not only those which we are accustomed to, but also those which have been forgotten. The author researches every ethnic region of Ukraine, attempting to find something special and unusual about them. The paintings are stored in private collections in England, Germany, the Czech Republic, Italy, Austria, France, Luxembourg, Poland, Argentina, USA, Canada.

🇺🇦⚔️🇷🇺 🚀💥☠️🚑 🚨
💥AS RUSSIAN FORCES STORM THE SOUTH OF AVDIIKVA, UKRAINIAN ARMED FORCES LAUNCH STRIKES ON DONETSK MARKET💥
As Russian Forces advance in the south of Avdiivka, making considerable gains in recent days, and as various Ukrainian defensive belts continue to collapse under heavy pressure and a lack of manpower and equipment, the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched an artillery strike targeting the central Market in the Tekstilshchik microdistrict of Donetsk City, Donetsk People's Republic, in the east of Ukraine.
A recent count put the civilian death toll at 25, with another 20 wounded, including two children after Ukrainian forces fired several 152mm and 155mm artillery shells into the central square market area in the Kirovsky district of Donetsk City.
The head of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), Denis Pushilin, writing on his telegram channel said that "Currently, information about 25 deaths has been confirmed. At least 20 more people were injured, of which two children are in moderate condition. All victims are receiving the necessary medical care. Among them are seriously wounded, many have penetrating wounds in areas of vital organs, traumatic amputation of limbs."
The Russian Foreign Ministry condemned the attacks, saying in a statement that the "the neo-Nazi Kiev regime, with the support of the United States and its satellites, once again committed a barbaric terrorist act against the civilian population of Russia."
"The Russian side categorically condemns this treacherous attack on the civilian population,” the ministry added.
Calling on the International community to condemn the terrorist attacks, the Russian Foreign Ministry scolded Western countries, stating “their silence will mean tacit approval of the murders of civilians and encourage Ukrainian neo-Nazis to commit even more bloody atrocities."

Russia shelled Ukraine with missiles, the biggest attack in months
At least 10 people died and dozens were wounded when Russia fired drones and missiles at Ukrainian cities on Friday delivering the largest attack within the past few months.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that 110 missiles were fired at major cities, including Kyiv, Odesa and Kharkiv. He also stated that Russia had used “everything it has in its arsenal,” including drones, cruise missiles and S-300 surface-to-air weapon systems.
Yuriy Ignat, a spokesman for the Ukrainian Air Force, claimed Russia launched a wave of drones followed by missiles. The shelling hit at least five other cities, including Lviv in the west and Odesa on the Black Sea coast.
We haven’t seen so much red on our monitors for a long time.
The overnight attack came days after a Ukrainian strike damaged a Russian navy warship in Crimea.

OK, so I just learned about what is quite possibly one of the greatest viral videos ever. Apparently, a few people in the Ukrainian Armed Forces decided to do a propaganda music video parodying a Tollywood song called "Naatu Naatu", whose existence I'd been unaware of until today. See, this is why I'm proud of Ukraine and the Ukrainian people: because they know how to keep calm and have fun even during wartime.
Also, here's a shameless plug for one of my fanfics: I've been posting an anti-Russian propaganda fic, a My Hero Academia fic titled Russian Winter, Broken Hearts, named after a song by heavy metal band Krokus. The final chapter should be out this week.

P.S. This Ukrainian-made howitzer shoots far and accurately. Given Ukraine's difficulty in acquiring modern weaponry and the extent to which Western political elites have been infiltrated at various levels by Russian and Chinese spies, it is vital for Ukraine and the rest of Eastern Europe to develop their own military industry and military industry export capabilities
